Lavender House is a gorgeous coastal holiday home, perfect for couples or families and just minutes from the sea and all the amenities of the coastal village of Alnmouth. Wood burning stove. Our 5th time at Lavender house and as always, absolutely amazing!!
Spotlessly clean and a warm welcome with a generous hamper of goodies for us and the dog!
Great location with parking provides a base for many walks in the locality.
Some pubs in Alnmouth shut in early parts of the week so check before you travel.
Fantastic week before the Christmas rush!

The house had everything we needed for our week in Alnmouth. The house was situated on the edge of the village just a couple of minutes from the beautiful Alnmouth beach. We loved the design of the house and made use of all the facilities including the wood burner. We also had more than adequate crockery and cutlery and other cooking equipment. A beautiful house in a fabulous part of Northumberland. Thank you.

Enjoyed staying here. 99%was excellent, only feedback was needed extra mugs or cups . For 6 people we had 7 cups. The bedrooms were all a good size and comfortable. Living space and gardens excellent and would definitely stay here again.

This was our second stay and we had a very enjoyable and lovely stay. However there were important things missing such as bin bags tea towels and a few dishwasher tablets to start. The hamper was less comprehensive as there wasn’t even any milk but the bread was delicious. We felt it just needed a little TLC. Also the bbq was unusable as do dirty.

There has been a new housekeeper attending to the property over the past few weeks and I will be sure to pass the feedback on to them so they can ensure that the high standards you have found previously at Lavender House and Coquet Cottages. We work closely with the housekeepers to ensure that they are aware of the high standards expected throughout our portfolio. I do hope we can welcome you back to Lavender House again in the future.

Third time in this accommodation. Great location. Bedrooms and bathrooms great. Unfortunately this time it wasn't as clean as usual as the lower hall was dirty with lots of dog hairs. Some of the pans and cutlery had been put away unwashed. The gas hob was looking tired and in need of replacement. But with these minor issues I would still recommend and we will probably be returning next year depending on circumstances.

Loved the property and all it had to offer our group. It had everything we needed to make our holiday comfy and cosy.
The only small issue was that the two downstairs bedrooms found that the slightest noise created in the lounge or kitchen disturbed them. Ie tv, putting things in the dishwasher, heavy footsteps. Earplugs maybe helpful if you’re a light sleeper.

This is our third stay at Lavender House and we'll be back next year too! The house is so homely and so warm. There is plenty of space for everyone, especially if you have a dog like we do. The kitchen is a dream to cook in with its gas hob and it's well equipped.
There is always bags of hot water and the showers are spacious with great water pressure.
The beds are always comfortable and a good size with quality bedding. Each bathroom is stocked with luxury products too which is always a treat.
The woodburner is a fantastic addition, pumping out stacks of heat which our GSP loved!
The location of the house is ideal as it's just a stones throw from the beach, short drive to Alnwick and a nice run to Warkworth.
We've stayed each time in December and the house is beautifully decorated with a big tree and wreath on the door making it a magical start to our Christmas.

Lovely house in a quiet setting. Plenty of room for everyone and the dogs. Great location for Alnmouth but also for getting further afield.

The house is in an excellent location at the top of the village but only a short walk to the shops and the beach and just off the Coastal Path.
Very clean on arrival with lovely welcome package.

Lavender House is a lovely place to stay and explore Alnmouth & surrounding area.
The house is very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The house is also dog friendly with secure garden which was nice however the pebbled area would have been better being grass.

Having stayed at Lavender cottage 5 years we made a return visit. Everything much the same apart from new furnishings and re decorating. Perfect house in a quiet area of Alnmouth. Very comfortable stay and lovely welcome pack.

The interior standards were excellent, the furniture appearing as good as new and the decor and bathrooms immaculate.
The kitchen was well-equipped, with all the basics to hand, should you wish to cook and dine in.
The location was perfect for accessing the beach on foot, as well having a good range of eateries and pubs in the village.
Overall, the accommodation deserves a 4 star rating, despite the few niggles that stop it scoring a 5 reflecting absolute luxury! For instance, the lounge TV ( which was the only TV within the property) was small considering the size of the room and didn’t have Sky ( we couldn’t even download BBC IPlayer), no coffee machine, the noise of the dishwasher competed with the TV volume because of the open plan design of the lounge/kitchen, no dressing tables in 2 of the three bedrooms, the noise of the boiler/central heating system/ or bathroom fan til late into the night was annoying when trying to sleep in the lower ground back bedroom,

Just for the benefit of other readers; we don't advertise Sky or a coffee machine, and as the living space is open plan, kitchen appliance sounds can be heard from the lounge seating. Lovely modern house with everything inside we needed. Loved the fact that there were 3 bathrooms and that two of the rooms could be twins. Even better it was dog friendly. Alnmouth is great location.

We stayed for four nights and once again had a fantastic time in this fabulous accommodation. This is the fourth time we have stayed here and that in itself speaks volumes about the quality. Beautifully clean and well designed with another impressive welcome hamper. The only slight issue was the outside garden was rather overgrown and needed some pruning to fully utilise the space. Alnmouth pubs have irregular opening times for food so check In advance.
Another brilliant stay overall and Coquet cottages are superb to book with.

With the very wet weather we've had throughout July, it's been difficult to keep on top of the growth spurts of the plants, as usually this is kept on top of weekly. For the benefit of other readers - we'd absolutely recommend checking opening times of the pubs and cafes in the village. As Alnmouth is a small village, some may choose to close earlier on quiet days. You can find contact details for all local establishments in our Digital Guidebook or online.
