Lovely large, but still very cosy, cottage. Perfect for four generations getting together to celebrate my 60th birthday. Lovely surprise to see a couple of Christmas trees and decorations up, making it all feel extra special.
House very well equipped with all we needed and more. Very comfy beds.
We all loved the BBQ hut in the garden. Easily seated all nine of us and a toddler.
Only a ten minute walk to nearby Seahouses with its lovely gift shops, take aways and pubs/restaurants.

We enjoyed a fabulous week at the Old Manse. Layout was perfect, with each room having its own bathroom (top one a bit dated but others good and smallest bedroom has the biggest bathroom with a lovely spa bath!), lots of downstairs space, a utility room and space for muddy/sandy shoes and coats at the front door. The kitchen is very well equipped- lots of glasses, plates, dishes and kitchen equipment and a large fridge/freezer and it is more sociable than it looks in the pictures, because it is right next to the dining room (which is beautiful when the fire is on). Kota hut is brilliant, but could do with some battery lights/lanterns for use after dark. 10 minutes walk to the beach/shops along the ‘secret’ footpath means this house has the best location, especially if you have dogs or come in the busy season. Overall, the house is perfect for a cosy autumn/winter break and we’d definitely come back.

Enjoyable short stay at this lovely period property in the heart of Seahouses. The rear garden is beautiful, private and fully enclosed. Everyone enjoyed using the BBQ in the Kota hut.

The Old Manse was great for our needs as there was lots of space for three families including 2 children and a baby, and was convenient for our day at a wedding in Ellingham Hall. Very easy stroll to Seahouses with decent places to eat, and the beach.
We didn't do much catering in the house but the kitchen much smaller than expected and I would imagine difficult to cater fully for 10, though there was plenty of equipment, and the barbecue was excellent. (The toaster was tricky and one slot seemed not to work and others difficult to moderate without vigilance, so may benefit from replacement , but that is a minor issue overall) Garden was large and excellent and we were very lucky with the weather so kids could play happily out there, and the bats were lovely to see in the evening. Overall a lovely property

I booked the Old Manse for my wife and I for our golden wedding.
With 5 bedrooms it was great for our children and grandchildren, who really did enjoyed the garden.
The hole house had everything you need, nothing was missing.
THANKS FOR A GREAT WEEK as we find it hard for all of us to get together.
THANKS AGAIN

This is our third stay at the Old Manse and as 3 generations we all love it. It is a fabulous house with plenty of room for the 8 of us including 2 small children, 9 if you count a dog. All of the rooms having ensuite facilities is a huge bonus and also the king size beds are very comfortable. The well kept garden is safe for the children and they enjoy running around on the lawn. There is also an extensive deck with garden furniture and a huge table and barbecue.
The owner, David, has furnished it to a very high standard and the kitchen and utility room are very well equipped. We love the conservatory which wraps around the back of the house and it's great for the children to play in. The new luxury vinyl flooring looks lovely and is very practical. We very much appreciate the beach towels available for our use. The generous food hamper and prosecco are a welcome bonus.
All I can say is that I look forward to visiting the Old Manse next year.

The Old Manse was probably the best equipped property we have ever stayed in. My husband and I booked it as a bucket-list birthday trip with our son and daughter, their partners, and three small children, and with a large downstairs bedroom (our domaine!) and five upstairs, it was ideal. A wrap-around, secure garden with outdoor BBQ, indoor Kota BBQ, and patio furniture completed the package. Super quiet, parking for three cars, and easy walking distance from the town centre amenities, beach and harbour. Loads of kitchen equipment, immensely comfortable beds. Appreciated the welcome packs for humans and dog, also the call from the property owner on the first evening to welcome us and pass on tips.

House accommodated 3 generations comfortably. Clean and well equipped. Lovely welcome pack that was appreciated. Unfortunately weather very inclement which made coming back to wood burning stoves very welcome. Used Kota hut which kids loved. Good situation for visiting Alnwick and Bamburgh.

8 of us stayed here in August.
The house is fabulous. It has everything you need and more.
Absolutely spotless, they clearly know how to present the perfect home.
Parking for 2 large cars 3 small at a push but also on road parking available.
Entrance hall which is perfect for wet coats and beach stuff.
Large lounge area, really homely. Books and games for the kids.
Lovely dining room with a door leading through to a wrap around conservatory that looks out over the well kept garden and bbq house.
Great sized amazingly stocked kitchen and utility room.
There is a ground floor ensuite bedroom (couple of steps up) which was perfect for my parents.
Upstairs 4 great bedrooms all ensuite (1 with a whirlpool bath)
The bed was the comfiest bed I have ever slept in.
I think this is the best house we have ever rented.
Perfect location for seahouses village, 5 min drive, 15 min walk.
Close to some great restaurants and pubs.
The owner called me on our first day to check we were happy with everything and gave some great advice on things to do in the area which I thought was a lovely touch.
The welcome hamper was fabulous as well, fresh scones and bread, butter and milk, and a whole host of other items.
The app provided a lot of good information before and during our stay.
Thankyou for a wonderful holiday!

We very much enjoyed our second stay at the Old Manse. The house was immaculate on arrival, and the Welcome Pack was generous. The house served our purposes admirably for the week, giving us a comfortable base for a three -generation family holiday, with a wide generational range in the intensity and variety of activity. The garden was a blessing for everyone - including the two well - behaved dogs. The Ocean Club was a very well - used additional resource. The fact that we have already booked for next year indicates our satisfaction.
Problems were minor. The outside handle of the front door fell off on the first day, but a temporary repair was effected. The en-suite door of room 5 remained difficult to open from the outside and curtain hooks were missing from the window curtains. The advantages for 80 year olds of having a downstairs bedroom in room 5, were offset by the difficulties of manoeuvring in a very confined space. But, overall, the experience was overwhelmingly positive.

Perfect cottage stay with family /friends, kids and dog! The information was all very thorough, easy to contact via Coquet cottages. The welcome pack and phone call from owner (David) made it very personal. We got great local recommendations, the close access to beach and town was excellent. Kids enjoyed the Ocean club splash time and garden space a lot! We explored Alnwick, visited Lillidorei (which is a magical fun place for a half a day if you have younger kids) So much more to do around the inviting Northumberland coast and will be back again. The cottage is perfect for large groups, giving everyone privacy but nice common spaces that is inviting and warm. Outdoor space is well equipped, kind neighbours and kitchen is very well stocked.

Very good cottage for all the attractions in north Northumberland. Very well equipped with all you'll need.
Lots of space and a great large enclosed garden. We tried the barbecue hut - it was great fun and the children loved it.
Only a couple of points about bedroom 5. It's quite damp - your towels don't dry and even the bedding gets damp.
There's a slight leak from the sink and a small puddle forms on the floor to the right of the sink.
All in all a great choice.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent stay at The Old Manse. We highly value our guests' opinions and appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. While we haven't received any previous comments regarding any damp in the property, we will certainly monitor the situation closely along with the leak from the sink. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Northumberland soon. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback.

We found the Old Manse a comfortable and spacious holiday home for 6 adults and 4 children.
The large garden is ideal for children to play in The wrap around conservatory is light and airy and provides additional space to relax and enjoy views of the garden.
The cottage is less than a 10 minute walk away from the centre of Seahouses.
We had a great weekend away and would love to return in the future

The location of The Old Manse is great, only a 5 minute walk from the centre of Seahouses, and the house is a great size for 8 of us. We loved the large garden, the BBQ hut, and the conservatory. All the rooms are large, each has an en-suite and are well equipped. All the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed the welcome pack, as it was a lovely surprise. There was ample firewood for the two wood burners, which we enjoyed on a chilly evening. Even the tea mugs are of a decent size! It was a home away from home with everything you need for a great holiday. I would definitely stay here again.

This was the second time we have rented The Old Manse for a three generations holiday. It was spotlessly clean and is furnished to a high standard. The large sized beds are very comfortable and it is great to have all rooms en suite too, with good quality towels and bed linen. The conservatory is great for children and the owner provides a variety of board games etc. The kitchen has every utensil and lots of crockery. The garden is well tended and as it is enclosed it is safe for children and dogs. I loved the extension made to the decking since our last stay and the addition of a large outdoor dining table was fab. There is also a very smart gas barbeque and a separate open fire barbeque hut.
The location is also wonderful. It is a short walk to shops and the harbour and also a very easy walk to the fabulous sandy beach.
