A wonderful reception from Pat and Geoff on our arrival, we found the cottage very clean and very well appointed. We also had a welcome pack which was much appreciated. The owners are very friendly and very helpful regarding our questions on local history and the surrounding areas. We would not hesitate to recommend this venue to others, all in all a very pleasant stay with very nice people.
Perfect place to spend the week. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Location is stunning and peaceful. Would highly recommend. Very much hoping to return.
A stunning barn conversion in a stunning location. Everything was perfect and Caroline was both really pleasant and very helpful. We will definitely re-visit.
We enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable, well positioned and well equipped studio. The views over the harbour and the Farne Islands are superb. It was great to eat in looking at our view and enjoying excellent fresh and smoked fish from Swallow Fishery nearby.
The Causeway Barn is a well planned and equipped holiday home with many thoughtful touches from the owner (easter eggs!). I'd certainly consider bookign again.
Our stay as a family of 4,at the Hemmel was fantastic. Not 1 complaint, everything was catered for and the house was spotless with the quality of interior being really very good. Super location beach is 2 mins in the car and easy to walk to. Seahouses is 5 mins in the car and has everything needed without being too tacky. We would. Not hesitate to recommend this holiday cottage to family and friends we have done just that already. Stay Northumbria were a really good booking company too very professional and knowledgeable. Brilliant all round. Thank you.
Had a lovely week at Willow cottage cosy and comfy a real home from home . Had every thing you could think of to make your stay a perfect holiday . Really great place for exploring the surrounding area x
After a very long drive we arrived to tea and cake a lovely surprise and a great start to our holiday. The cottage is immaculate, it has everything in it you could possibly want on a stay away from home. It was very spacious yet homely and in a convenient location. We had a great time in Northumberland and found two great places to eat whilst there - The Potted Lobster and The Pack Horse. If we ever holiday in the county again we would definitely return to the cottage.
From start to finish our short break was excellent - the welcome, the cottage and the weather! Our 5 year old grandson availed himself of all the garden had to offer - climbing dome, swings, bike, games and alfresco dining. Excellent service, extremely comfortable and equipped to a high standard. We will certainly be back.
We stayed here recently and had a great time. The Mill is fully equipped with comfortable beds and lots of room to move around without feeling on top of each other (there were 13 of us plus 2 dogs!). It is in a great place for exploring this part of Northumberland. The booking was handled efficiently throughout and there was sufficient communication from start to finish. I would definitely recommend Spindlestone Mill and booking through Stay Northumbria!
We have holidayed in Northumberland on many occasions but wish we had found this bungalow before now! -A friendly welcome including delicious cake! -Spacious comfortable and spotlessly clean accommodation -Well equipped kitchen -Great location (near A1 but without noticeable noise) handy for getting to the many attractions of Northumberland -Great to see the daily routine with the farm animals -Enjoyed watching the swallows, house martins and kestrel
The accommodation was excellent and the location was so relaxing. Easy access to the best tourist spots in the area also. Will hope to stay here again
Beautiful modern cottage set in farmland. Every imaginable convenience even down to a freshly baked cake ! We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Particularly loved seeing the swallows gathering ready to leave.
We had a lovely week at the Byre inspite of wet weather. The accommodation was cosy and provided everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. There was a lovely patio garden and a covered area which I'm sure would have been nice in hot weather but was equally handy for hanging out wet rain coats and soggy dog towels. On the Sunday Elizabeth, the owner did some baking and brought us two delicious scones. We found the Byre to be quite private even though it was on the owners property. Warkworth is really well placed;there are lovely walks from the property and other pr...more
A lovely property finished to a great standard and in a lovely location. The combination of the different flats in the mill are ideal for a large family gathering such as the one we had and everyone was accommodated in real style. The top floor loft flat is absolutely lovely. A great space for everyone to gather with plenty of plates, cups, cutlery etc to cater for everyone. Very well placed for accessing lovely walks on the beach at Bamburgh, trips to the Farnes from Seahouses and generally relaxing. Incredibly peaceful with a Red Squrrel making appearances most days !
Boca Chica is a very well equipped holiday home in a peaceful location overlooking a great beach ,.reached by a short flight of steps. The owners have provided everything you need for an enjoyable holiday, even if the weather is changeable!
We had a lovely stay at Portland, we were two families with children ranging from age 4 to age 16. The property was very spacious, immaculately clean & very well equipped. The welcome pack was perfect, tea, coffee, sugar, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing tablets, surface cleaner & not forgetting lovely homemade biscuits! There was enough space for all of us to relax in comfort. The outdoor shed was well equipped with buckets, spades, wind breaks, wet suits (for children) also bats, balls, swing ball etc. The location was ideal, the village shop was a couple of minutes walk away w...more
We really enjoyed our stay at Aidanfields. The property was ideal for a holiday for the two of us - comfortable, plenty of space, very clean and lovely views. Although it is very close to the A1 we could not hear traffic noise from the A1 at all. The owners had left plenty of goodies for when we arrived - bread, jam, tea, coffee, shortbread - all much appreciated! We were in easy reach of many attractions. We would love to come again! While we were there, some electrical work was being done in the village. This did not bother us as we were out, but Stay Northumbria Limited contacted us to c...more
We have just spent a fantastic week staying in Bega's Bead, the house is beautiful and with the weather being very poor on a couple of days it was great to have such a well equipped cottage to relax in and wait for the rain to stop. We had every thing we needed and more in the house and with Wifi for the kids and my husband all were very happy and relaxed. We loved walking along North Beach and tried out kayaking and paddle boarding at Beadnell. With so many Castles near by we were never short of an activity or something to go and see.
Third time we have stayed at The Old Cartshed and if anything it has got better. Nice touches with the K9 welcome pack and goodies for humans! We will go back
The apartment was spacious, modern and of good quality. I don't think I can fault it's presentation and what it offers guests. Short drive to Bamburgh.
This house has an excellent and isolated location. It is very well equippped. The garden is lovely and offers immediate access to the hills.
Great holiday accommodation, perfect for our family of five. Comfortable and clean. The only things it doesn't have that other places have is an outside tap to hose off after trip to beach and ability to hang out clothes outside. It does have a washer/dryer which works well, but didn't help with wetsuits. Beach is extremely close, a lovely sheltered bay. Would definitely recommend to others.
Had a lovely week in this cottage. Everything you need is provided for a comfortable stay and with the added extras of a bottle of wine and biscuits to greet us. Really spacious for us as a family of 4 and handy for the A1 so we were able to easily get to Edinburgh, Alnwick Castle and other local attractions. Really can't fault this property.
It was our third stay of three weeks in the stables. This Statement says enough, if your not pleased about something you don't come again.
Great stay in a very good location. The apartment is bigger than it looks in the pictures - loads of space - and very nicely furnished. Beadnell is a great location with beaches, pubs, shop and cafe all on the doorstep.
Even though we had some bad weather we enjoyed every minute in Upperdeck 7. If we come back to northern England again we definitely book Seafield again
We enjoyed a very pleasant stay in Millars loft . The apartment was clean and comfortable especially the bed, although a lighter duvet would have been appreciated .Everything went very smoothly and we had stress free stay. We did not need to contact anyone because we had no problems with the apartment. The location is perfect for getting around the area.
We found the apartment decorated and equipped to a very high standard, and with everything thought of. In a lovely setting with the views over the sea, and easy walking distance into Seahouses, and a short drive to Bamburgh. Where we found some lovely places to eat.
Very spacious accommodation with large bedrooms and modern bathrooms, power showers. Kitchen is exceptionally well equipped, plenty of pans, baking equipment, even scales and an electric mixer. Easy to cook for a large group. Underfloor heating throughout makes it very warm, lovely to come back to after a long walk. Very clean and well maintained. Views across fields out to the Farne Islands. The only negative comment would be that the beds are very hard, could do with foam toppers, but don't let that put you off, everything else was perfect.
We stayed for a full week in The Old Post Office Cottage at Powburn and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We had never stayed in (or heard of!) the village before going there this summer but would have no qualms about returning. It is a great base to explore both the coastal and inland areas of Northumberland. The welcome package that the owners left for us included a personal message on a box of farm eggs for our young 2 1/2 year old daughter which was a great touch. There was a smell of damp/mustiness in the entrance vestibule and the cupboard where the immersion heater is situated b...more
Cranage cottage was a most comfortable and well equipped family house in the perfect location for exploring the best of the Northumberland heritage Coast. The weather wasn't great when we were there so we made good use of the extensive collection of family games and dvd available. Craig is a very kind and informative host and even gave us a pot of his delicious homemade jam! The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the whole house was well thought through even down to details such as hair straighteners and extension cables. The children (10 and 11) loved using the typewriter and playing croq...more
Great location for exploring Northumberland & Durham, with easy access to central Newcastle upon Tyne.
Millkeeper's Cottage provided us with excellent accommodation in an area of outstanding beauty. Its close proximity to varied castles, and interesting towns and villages. We managed to complete two Easter egg hunts - Low Newton-by-the-Sea and Cragside. Cragside is a remarkable house with a beautiful estate drive with plenty to engage all ages. We loved the walks to Budle Bay from the property and to Bamburgh. Also visited Holy Island and Berwick-on-Tweed. A wide range of inns and restaurants to visit. The property also has red squirrels in close proximity and they were not photo sh...more
We really enjoyed our stay here. There were only four of us - we all like a bedroom to ourselves, and there should have been five - so we had a huge amount of space. Vale View was very clean and comfortable. There was a nice (alcoholic) welcome pack and plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses - many, many glasses. Glanton itself is just a small village, quiet but with no real outstanding features - some very nice houses though. The garage in nearby Powburn had more than enough for emergency supplies when we arrived late afternoon on a Sunday. It was a convenient place to get to other attrac...more
This is a nice, homely cottage with everything you need provided. There is a sea view and the location is handy for everything the village has to offer. Great base for exploring the Northumberland coast.
The apartment was beautiful and a very comfortable size for the 5 of us (4 adults and 1 child). It had all the mod cons (except wifi, which was a welcome break) and a lot of space so we made it feel like home for a week. It is located right in the 'hub' of Beadnell, close to two great pubs and a lively cafe and also a short walk to the coast with many options for exploring without have to venture too far afield. Could not recommend a visit any more and would definitely go back for a third year running.
Enjoyed a comfortable stay in this cosy cottage, centrally located for all the amenities in Seahorses.loved its location near to 'the benches' where you can pass so much time watching the activity at the harbour ! The cottage is very well equipped.
Location fantastic - local shops just round the corner (but actual location quiet), marvellous beaches an easy walk in either direction. House very clean, all amenities, great enclosed garden with bonus summer house (effectively a second sitting room), kids & dog loved it :-)
Thanks for the fantastic visit to no6 cliff house. Perfect location(so close to harbour) very clean with everything a couple and their dog needs for a comfortable stay. Hope to come again.
This was our third visit to this wonderful cottage. As frequent visitors to Seahouses for many years now we think this house ticks all the boxes. Only small negative would be the new beds in the largest bedroom as we feel that the previous set up suited certain dinamics of the groups of people who might be staying here.
The property was ideal for our extended family which was very well equipped. The location suited us to explore the Northumberland coast.
The apartment was everything expected and more. Location perfect and people concerned helpful and friendly. We were blessed with glorious weather. Would go back in a moment!!!
We booked the Villas to celebrate my in-laws golden wedding anniversary. A great family celebration was had by all with the added bonus of stunnings views from a beautiful house. Lovely meals were had around the big dining room table. The two reception rooms were useful but the reception room at the back of the house was the cosiest especially when the wood burning stove was on. Highly recommended and we all agreed we'd love to return again.
Great stay in the centre of the beautiful seaside village of Almouth. 'Platone' cottage is very comfortable, clean and well equipped, with a good kitchen and very comfy beds. Living-room is small, but actually larger than it appears in the photo, and perfectly adequate for a couple or a couple with a child. Owners Barry & Carol extremely friendly and helpful (I was unintentionally a rather high-maintenance customer!) It was also very convenient to have a little courtyard garden for the dog to nip out into. Thank you.
Upper half Mill Spindlestone was a lovely place to stay. There were ten of us celebrating a 30th birthday and there was lots of room and convenience. The place was exceptionally clean and comfortable and everything you could possibly need was supplied. The setting was beautiful and we appreciated the views, thebirdsong, the red squirrels, the peace. We would definitely consider using it again and would recommend it to others. We have used a few places elsewhere at different times but this was definitely our best experience.
Wonderful, relaxing week, really enjoyed the property and the location, ideal for exploring the surrounding area.
We were given a warm welcome and walk through by the owners, the house is clean and well equipped, and in a great location.
We are regulars to Northumberland but are still discovering new things to see - this year it was Old Bewick. The Old Vicarage is an excellent base for a large crowd. Plenty of room for all. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are comfortable. Plenty of parking space and lovely quiet surrounds. One issue - the windows are now all secured: this has the benefit of keeping in the heat and preventing break-ins, but it also means there is no fresh air in the bedrooms. Most of the year this won't matter but when temperatures are high it could be stifling. For us fresh air at night is a mus...more
Convenient to main shopping street and not far to beach to the South - took dogs there several times Book restaurants early as popular! Warm and well enclosed back garden - good for dogs TV needs remote changing or new TV as have to hold on button for 6 to 10 seconds to get it to work (main TV) Maybe a radio in kitchen rather than just TVs in each room? Beds OK - main bed was a bit hard for our liking Great location and great cottage if lacking in character - you know what you are going to get with no quirks
Coble Cottage is lovely. This is our 3rd family stay there. Plenty of room and very well equipped. The grandchildren love it. We noticed one or two minor things this year e.g.loose window handle, washbasin plug not functional etc Stay Northumbria were very helpful, as ever. Pity that prices (everywhere) are hiked so much for school holidays!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at St Coombes Farm house, beautiful location, house and facilities would definitely recommend!
We enjoyed our stay so much, we are going again in September. The garden was so dog safe and with a local shop minutes walk away we are looking forwards to our next visit
This is a fantastic alternative to a hotel - no noisy neighbours, gorgeous views of the countryside and sea in the distance, waking up to birdsong, etc. but still with all the home comforts you'd expect from a hotel and more. TV, DVD player, radio, fully-stocked kitchen (with bottle opener!), fridge, bathroom and reading chairs. We nearly booked a nearby 3-star hotel for about 30% extra of what we paid for the cost of this stay and I think we got a lot more for less money. The only downside to our stay is that we stayed during an unseasonably hot weekend (16-19 June) and even with all the w...more
The house was spacious for two families and had everything we needed. It is remote so a car is essential but was a great location for a wedding. The only problem was the beds. The mattresses have definitely seen better days, especially in the front twin bedroom-you could feel the slats of the bed frame as you lay down! A bit of tlc is needed to make it even better!
lovely cottage, lots of room for 8 adults and two dogs, everything was thought of, great location for village and beach.
The cottage was lovely and in an ideal spot we felt it would have been a bit small for four adults as the bathroom and kitchen were tight on space the lounge and bedroom were both spacious and had wonderful views we were impressed with the car parking space at the back of the cottage all in all a good holiday let.
20 of us came together to celebrate a couple of birthdays using the ground floor & 2 flats above. It gave us plenty of space to come together to eat & relax downstairs, but space for families to relax & have 'downtime' when necessary. Comfortable, clean, great bathrooms and lots of nice touches. Beautiful area - fun days out in Bamburgh & Holy Island. Nice walks locally. Tesco delivers
As I said above we enjoyed our stay and will possibly stay in the area next year as long as am alive and well
Our stay at the Haven was a lovely experience in terms of location comfort and convenience a couple of additions would have helped such as a tumble dryer and cloths line. If I can be super critical a new front door and the removal of the brick flower bed in the centre of the drive will allow more room for loading and unloading the car
Clean, modern and well equipped property 5 minutes walk from fantastic beach and rock pools. Our party comprised children aged 2 to 12 and there was an amazing range of games, toys, sports and beach equipment to keep all fully occupied. Evidence of dog hairs on living room carpet where our toddler was crawling...would suggest a pet vacuum cleaner is needed. Internet reception is poor so leave iPad at home! All in all a great property for large family with children and would certainly recommend.
A return visit which was better than last time. The addition of the freezer was great. The accommodation was up the high standard that we had before and despite the weather we had a very relaxing time. The information that was available regarding local tourist attractions and facilities was great in deciding what else to do. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing. MIL loved that the cows visited every day and she sat out in the conservatory everyday looking for them!
We booked three generations in on a friend's recommendation to help us celebrate some big birthdays! It was a great find. It's a deceptively big cottage with five good sized bedrooms as well as large communal areas. It was really well equipped and we found everything we needed (and more!) Beadnell is a lovely village with some great pubs, a nice playground and a shop. The cottage is in a fantastic location-literally a stones throw from a gorgeous sandy beach and a minute's walk to rockpooling. We had a fabulous time!
I would recommend this property. I really enjoyed my stay. I will be revisiting Seahouses in the very near future.
Our 6th visit to this cottage in Seahouses. The location is excellent and a far better place to park than many others. It's a bit cosy for three but worth it. Staynorthumbria's customer service is excellent and I would not hestitate to recommend them - as indeed I already have.
Fantastic cottage which is beautifully presented and furnished and we couldn't have asked for more for our needs (1 toddler plus 2 dogs). Great location in the historic part of the village next to one of the pubs and local café and only minutes from a fabulous beach. Happy to recommend this property and will be back ourselves.
Seagrass is a compact well equipped 3 bed semi, with a large secure grass garden. The house is ideally located for access to the beautiful beach & harbour of Beadnell Bay. Beadnell has a well stocked village shop and two pubs, a much wider range of shops and amenities are available at Seahouses, just a short drive away.
Cottage was very local to all amenities. It was very clean and it was welcoming. The only downside was it was small and we felt like we were a little cramped,we knew it was small but!.
Comfortable, spacious, very liveable in. We had a great week - walks, castles, big empty windy beaches, volleyball & croquet (brought with us) in the walled garden, the hot tub, board games & whiskey in front of the fire & fabulous meals cooked by different family members each night. Loved the versatility of the Aga & a conventional cooker.
We enjoyed our stay so much last year that we returned for a second visit. The cottage is pleasant and homely, with an attentive host and friendly neighbours. Its location gives easy access to the coast and countryside with its many attractions. The wifi was very useful. The staff at Stay Northumbria are pleasant and very efficient.
We have stayed at Pebbles Cottage before and as the location is perfect for visiting the north and south of Northumberland we booked it again. We were very satisfied with Pebbles Cottage and it's location provides easy access to Berwick in the north Almouth to the south and of course all the other places there are to visit such as Alnwick Castle Gardens. We had a great time
Seaton was a perfect location for our wee holiday. Lovely touch with the milk and K9 pack. Garden was beautiful.
The Wheel Room at Spindlestone was perfect for our week away, we were a group of seven and there was plenty of space. Overall the property was clean but felt that the bathroom mats in a couple of rooms (unusable) and shower door seals needed a little bit more cleaning. Spindlestone is in an excellent position to visit the Northumberland Coast as well as traveling as far as the Kielder Forest and surrounding area. This was our first visit to Northumberland and hope to return soon, we will certainly consider staying at Spindlestone again. Highly recommended.
We visited Chesterdene for our family holiday. The house is furnished to a high standard with everything you need supplied. The pool table provided hours of entertainment. We spent time sat chatting and relaxing in the conservatory, we didn't even switch the TV on most days as it's just such a lovely place to be.
The size of the bedrooms is great and the beds are soooo comfortable (which is rare to find) beautiful view of castle and great location to all amenities. Great little gravel seating , ideal for breakfast outside . Kept very nicely and stairs not a problem as in keeping with style and help make it spacious.
This is the second time we have stayed at masons cottage. Excellent views of the farne islands from the bedroom balcony. Will definitely be back.
The Swallows is a new house built on a large estate on the edge of Amble about 20 mins walk from the harbour. The house was very clean and comfortable and we were welcomed by the owners. The kitchen equipment was very basic (2 oven trays , no jug, serving dishes ,roasting tins, etc ) The house provides a good base for exploring the Northumberland coast if you have a car and happy to eat out
A nice cosy cottage in a good location for trips around the Northumberland either by car or on foot. Could perhaps do with a bit of a spring clean, although generally clean and tidy with good facilities (although washing machine wasn't working whilst we were there). Excellent views of fields, golf course and sea, there's always something to watch and the chairs by the windows were well used. Lighting was also a little dark if you wanted to read or anything in the sitting area on an evening, although fine for watching tv etc. Great location for walks along the coast to High/Low Newton and Cra...more
A lovely cottage with excellent views. Wifi would have made our stay better especially on the wet days to keep the kids happy but apart from that no complaints.
Whilst right in the centre of Bamburgh, the Hollies was hidden away, cosy and comfortable. The front garden is so pretty and a delightful trap. The Cottage has everything you could possibly want and more.
A great place for a family holiday. Lots of space, both in and out of the property! Made full use of the fields and the artificial grass area. Great location for the A1, Bamburgh and Seahouses. All rooms a good size and with all have en-suite is an added bonus!! The only issue during the week was the internet access, which was very poor!
With a little attention to detail and a general update and repair it would be an amazing cottage. That said, we had a great holiday.
