The house was very well equipped and spacious, the bed linen and towels freshly laundered. The view from the front windows of the house was lovely and the small estate of houses the house is in was very quiet and peaceful. Easy access to Inverness and beyond. The house has a large lounge with a huge TV and a smaller sitting room which is ideal if you are holidaying with children and want some peace and quiet! The bedrooms are large with lots of storage space and comfy beds. Ideal for a family or two couples with kiddies - especially as one bedroom has an en-suite, there is a family bathro...more
We had a brilliant holiday at the Granary. The apartment exceeded our expectations and was beautifully presented. It was lovely to eat breakfast looking out at the sea. Its location is convenient for exploring the north east coast of Scotland and there is a Tesco within walking distance for provisions. (There is also a Coop nearby). There is private parking right outside the apartment block and the approach to the 1st floor apartment is spotless and looks recently refurbished (as does the apartment). The Information panel about the history of the building is really interesting and there are p...more
The apartment is beautiful and furnished to a high standard. Katie the owner was very friendly and had a good knowledge of the area. The area is very scenic and there is lots to do, we did a lot of travelling along the East Coast, Findhorn and Hopeman are particularly nice beaches. We also travelled to John OGroats and across to the Orkneys. We are hoping to go back again next year and could not recomend using the snug enough.
"Simply the best" This accommodation is immaculate- utterly faultless. The people obviously take great pride in their facility. And cannot recommend highly enough -We will return if I am fortunate enough to secure a booking
We enjoyed our stay at Maus Steading very much. Sure, having great weather helped but we found the house location perfect. Being able to walk to the beach in 5 minutes was great and only 2 minutes drive into Dornoch. The house interior has been refurbished to a high standard throughout and we enjoyed the use of the log burner. There are great views of the Dornoch Firth from the front garden which aren't apparent from the pictures on the web site. We would certainly love to come back , as long as you can guarantee the weather !
Almost don't have any to tell people how good it was. Lovely welcome good base and we will return. Xx
Lovely place to stay in a good location, handy to town. All the comforts of home and very warm. Highly recommended
Well-equipped cottage, warm and friendly owners make you feel very welcome and 'at home' without being intrusive. Beautiful views.
Warm welcome upon arrival, lovely décor and great facilities. Hot tub and stove fire particular highlights. Cabin is spacious but still cosy. Would definitely return.
Cottage was immaculate and had all we needed for our stay and more. Ideal location for drives and walks in the northern part of Skye. A car/bike is probably required to explore all parts of the island and for big shops. Sea, countryside and mountains are all visible from the cottage and garden if you want to just stay in for the day. A perfect holiday home in a spectacular part of the country.
The location is great and the cottage is in a great condition. It is just a short walk to the city of Dornoch where you find all that you need for your daily needs. The rooms were spacious enough and the equipment very new. Would book it again if i go back to the northern Highlands.
We had an enjoyable stay in Harbour View cottage which was clean and comfortable. It is a particularly well equipped cottage and had everything we needed. The little sun room is a delight to sit in and watch the comings and goings of the harbour and the sea. The bed was comfortable as were the dining room chairs and the sitting room seating.
This is a lovely cottage - very well appointed and very comfortable. The village of Nethy Bridge is lovely with plenty of local walks and also a small, well-stocked supermarket. It was very central to the Cairngorms area we wanted to explore and we had a very enjoyable week. I'd thoroughly recommend Bowlins/Gael Holiday Homes.
Lovely apartment Lynsey was helpful with providing information. Everything extremely organized (arrival instructions etc).
Fantastic place to stay in lots of peace n quiet bed was very comfortable and slept just fine. Tried to book again for etape Loch Ness cycle it was full, gutted
Lovely house, clean and very peaceful, can not really find fault with anything. Would definitely book again.
Absolutely stunning flat, perfect for an adult and 2 kids. A true home from home. Couldn't fault a thing. We sat at night with the patio doors on the balcony open, looking out onto the most stunning view of the Cairngorms.
We would highly recommend Larchfield as a home away from home. The house was perfect for us (2 adults and 3 children aged 9, 6 & 2) and was well equipped for us all with a very large main bedroom, 2 twin rooms and a travel cot that was provided for us on arrival. Having the use of the washing machine etc was a big bonus for us. Everything in the house was easy to use and when we did get a little stuck all the instruction manuals were there to help (which came in handy with the induction hob!). The location is fantastic, only 10 minutes drive from city centre and an excellent base for days ou...more
Great property with friendly owners, in an ideal location. Lovely and light property, and very quiet. Spacious for a 1-bedroom apartment, with comfortable seating for relaxing after a day exploring. Plenty of storage space too. The balcony is a bonus - wonderful in sunshine, but provides amazing views whatever the weather and for sunsets over Ben Wyvis.
Lovely, cosy place to return to after a day cycling or walking. Everything you need provided, it really is home from home!
Beautiful apartment, convenient location in walking distance to centre, yet in quiet residential area. Beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, perfect for 2 couples. Everything was thought of. Loved our stay, thank you.
A beautiful bungalow in a lovely location, fixtures and fittings were top of the range, plenty of places to visit nearby.
Red Kite Cottage delivered once again. It was perfect for us as I am disabled and the lady could not do enough for us and the weather was brill.
Our experience using Gael holdays was thoroughly satisfactory - good communication good accommodation and very good value .
We had a great week staying in Delmhor No.4. The house was very clean and tidy on arrival and suited our family of four perfectly. It is a perfect location for those wishing to be a little out of town but still within walking /cycling distance of the shops and further afield. The garden is a great size and nicely contained for our little boy to run around and play. Out and about the paths up to Glenmore and into the hills are great for running/walking & cycling after which Trips to the Pine Marten Café (Glenmore), Mountain Café(Aviemore) and Inshriach Nursery are highly recommended to...more
A nice, spacious and very clean apartment right in the centre of Inverness. Stores, including restaurants with a variety of syles and level, were very close. There was a good, it rather restricted, view of the river from the balcony. My wife and I will definately choose this place the next time we are in Inverness.
We had the chance of a few days at the start of a longer self catering trip to Scotland and knew of Broc Cabin from our visit to Loch Ruthven Bird hide to view Slavonian Grebes that breed there. Broc was also one of the few s/c places that take short term bookings and not just a full week/Sat-Sat which we liked as we try and travel mid week where we can. As requested we telephoned news of our approach to the owner in order that we could be met for the 'admin' side and all was well. A very warm and friendly reception. The cabin was everything and more that we could require and in a clean and...more
This is a beautifully restored cottage in the old fisher town. It is welcoming and relaxing and a lovely place to spend our 10 days in Cromarty and the welcome bottle of wine and shortbread was very thoughtful. The cottage is generally well equipped but perhaps some of the crockery a bit tired but that would be our only negative comment on an otherwise lovely home. We were also lucky with exceptionally good weather making the whole stay a brilliant holiday. We could have stayed on!!
It was a very nice place, in the nature. The house was comfortable, with eunogh rooms, bathroms for 4 people. The furniture, the equipment were nice and comfortable too. The kitchen was well equipped. Everything was clean, and nice. we could recommend to anyone.
Lovely lodge, nice quiet location, very clean and well equipped. Great base for travelling around the Highlands.
This is a very comfortable flat within 10 minutes or so walking distance to the town center. It is also a block or two away from a grocery store. It is on a busy street but the windows muffle any noises. There is a binder full of information on how to use everything in the flat which was very helpful when using the TV particularly. The only laughable glitch I had was turning on the shower. I'm from the U.S. and we don't have separate power switches for outlets, etc. My traveling companion quickly found the switch outside the bathroom door. We had a good chuckle over that! The beds are comforta...more
From the big windows overlooking the firth you can sit and watch .... seals, ospreys fishing, deer, tawny owls, barn owls, buzzards... Numerous birds The house is situated on a quiet road and is far enough away from civilisation for those who value peace and quiet but is a short drive/ bike ride from excellent local shops, cafes etc. Only complaint is the agonisingly slow wifi ( was off for most of the time we were there - BT supposed to be upgrading) We found a faster connection at the visitor centre in Dornoch for checking weather Slightly pricey but worth it for the views
The accommodation was lovely and comfortable and clean very accessible to all the city close to bus and train station
Very comfortable and manager responded when we had questions about the gas stove. We wish the first info for renters was the closest grocery store and how to get there. Driving in, we had to ask neighbors for that info.
A great location in heart of Rothiemurchas Estate. Great walking and mountain biking from the doorstep but also close to all other attractions and centre of Aviemore. Kitchen missing a few essentials but this wouldn't stop us revisiting.
Die Wohnung hatte alles, was wir erwartet hatten und noch mehr. Spiele für den Abend, Radio, Dvds und Fernseher. Vielen Dank für die sehr gute Wohnung mit viel Komfort und den guten Service.
Enjoyed a week at Balorrin with our dog, Nico, who loved the local walks on the doorstep (there is an excellent dog walk starting right outside the back door). The cottage is well equipped which meant the usual extras that we bring (such as sharp knives for cooking) were just not needed. It's a great place to relax yet close to local amenities in Muir of Ord (great butcher) and places of interest. I think we will be back.
Close to everything and fantastic attention to detail. Although there was some initial confusion about access, our host couldn't have done a better job of rectifying the situation - even driving 20mi to make sure everything was OK. Great bloke who also gave us lots of travel tips. Highly recommended, it's such a convenient and comfortable apartment.
Very inviting and comfortable property. Wonderful location, quiet street and so close to the beach. Dornoch is a beautiful town so full of character. Will be sure to visit again.
This is a lovely apartment with lovely views from the bedrooms. The location was good but you do need a car.
Lovely apartment set over the main town square. Ideally placed for golf and eating out without having to use the car. Everything for a comfortable stay is in the flat. The only negative would only apply to someone who struggles with stairs as the apartment is et over first and second floors.
The accomadtion was excellent, clean, well equipped. Fantastic location within easy walking distance to Aviemore and local amenities. Hot tub an added extra bonus. Definitely stay again.
Ground floor flat with own parking space. Reasonable sized rooms.Double bed comfortable, but not large. Heated. Well equipped condition with all utensils and machines that you are likely to need. Electricity, bedding, towels, included in price. Most restaurants in town, so 15 mins walk. Our only problem was that on first night people either outside or in adjoining flat were talking late into the night, otherwise quiet
My wife and I came to Inverness for my nieces wedding, staying Friday to Monday. Wonderful location and we were so pleased with what the apartment had to offer and we really could not fault anything, however, the balcony door seemed to be damaged and could only be "locked by a single wee padlock on a very flimsy attachment thus rendering the door seal to be ineffective against noise and also gave a slight feeling of insecurity since there are other apartments running the length of the level with each apartment only separated by a small wire barrier. I am not being negative or fussy because we re...more
Spacious, comfortable property set in a rural, tranquil location. Well equipped. Stunning views. Highly recommended.
Good location. Easy access to hiking trails. Very close to shops, restaurants and train station. Comfortable. Good appliances including washer dryer. Was more cost as it is set up with 1 bedroom with queen bed and 1 bedroom with 4 bunk beds (only 1 bathroom). Light with large front windows and a large balcony.
We really enjoyed our Stay, ist was a nice newly build apartment. Only thing we missed was a bigger pan and a bigger pot to cook. Everything else was perfect and in a good condition.
Really lovely property, very spacious and nicely appointed. Great covered porch with view of the river. Assigned parking, lift available. Nice kitchen and spacious bathrooms - one included a soaking tub
Our stay at Shoreview was enjoyable from the moment Auriel greeted us and let us take occupancy early . The house was very thoughtfully equipped with every conceivable piece of kitchen equipment. The food welcome pack was great and even included homemade Scottish tablet. The house was beautifully located near the Firth and access to Inverness was quick . Auriel was a very organized host and had left travel information, take away menus and equipment instructions for us.
Love this apartment and lots to do in Aviemore. I have been three times to this apartment and hope to go again next year
Close to restaurants, walking trails and grocery store. Very clean and kitchen and bathroom are modern. Only downfall is t is beside a primary school and the children can be heard playing outside in the mornings. I would definitely book with them again!
tout etait parfait,la proximité de la ville,le calme,,le confort l'equipement de l'appartement nous avons passé un bon séjour
This is a great place to get away for a nice weekend and privacy. We loved the area and the people. Great.
We really enjoyed our stay at Margaret Street cottage - it was nice and relaxing and there was plenty to do in the nearby area
A well equipped appartment in a central location with parking made it a very convenient stay in Inverness
The place is fantastic. Location fantastic. But if breakfast had been provided, which most places at that price do provide, then it would have been 100 per excellent. However there is a lovely cafe 'Charlies' at the bus station which had very good breakfast at a reasonable price.
Clisham is a very nice place to stay. Really cozy. It is situated above the village of fortrose with a wonderful and ever changing view over the moray firth and the hills beyond. The kitchen is very well equipped. The house was clean and tidy and the owners are nice and helpful. It is a good base for many activities: golf, tours to the highlands, walks on the black isle and there are many places of historic interest. And of course there are the dolphins at chanonry point. A special and fantastic sight. We can really recommend the clisham
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sunnybank. The bungalow took a while to warm up but was fine once it did. All wants were catered for and it was very convenient for walking to Dornoch and the beach etc. Would recommend Sunnybank as a great place to stay.
this was the sixth year holidaying in the area and this was the best 2 weeks to date! great accommodation, very well equipped and everything worked and had space on the cupboards for our bits and pieces. very comfortable beds. good location in the village and close to other amenities, restaurants and shops.
Very nice and clean apartement. We enjoyed the stay. Everything we needed was there. Very quiet location.
Very well equipped and clean, great garden as well. Comfortable rooms. The paintings in the cottage are fabulous. We will be booking again.
Really nice location and enjoyed our stay but there was no Wi-Fi and we really couuld have done with this. We had to drive into Dornoch trying to find a strong enough signal in order to read our e-mails.
Excellent, quiet family home in lovely location in a very friendly town. The house has everything you'd need. Cromarty itself is full of hidden delights, try the pirate graveyard, not far from the cottage.
Best spot in Inverness. Comfotable.Very warm.Looked out at castle. Easy walk to everything.car parking excellent.washing machine complicated-needs clear instructions.great base for a few days.
Great location, not far away from city center. It was clean and comfortable especially after a day out and about.
The kitchen and bathroom arrangements were good. Generally, the furnishings were basic, but suitable for a holiday home. The garden space and furniture were put to good use in the sunshine. The position, close to the town and the beach, was very good. Folders of information on local sites and attractions were provided. The only real drawback was the lack of detail cleaning , e.g. Microwave interior, windows, bathroom door , wire trays in kitchen and bathroom shower etc. The macerator toilet by the back door should be supplied with ear Defenders!
in spite of having lots of rain the relaxation of being at Otterburn was just delightful. Plenty to do in surrounding area if prepared to put in a few miles or just simply soak in the being there. Do take plenty provisions as only two very handy and happy minimal local shops. Recommend the Big Sands caravan park for a lovely meal out.
We had a great time at the Tigh na Mara house. It was exactly what we wanted - quite area with beautiful scenery, updated amenities and plenty of space for everyone. We loved the large dining room that opened to the kitchen. The owners were friendly and even provided a welcome basket for us! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Stayed here for 6 days and was pleasantly surprised with the accommodation. Location is fantastic, view from balcony is amazing! Inside was everything that was needed for the stay and all in good order. Beds were very comfy and the added bonus of 2 bathrooms worked out well with older children. Definitely recommend and would use again if returned.
Comfortable and well-equipped, a friendly place with everything you need for a nice holiday (also with low door frames, make sure to duck your head), this is a nice cottage in a perfect location, the sea and the local store are both literally around the corner. The village is quiet and friendly, ideally located for trips around the area - even the west coast is not out of reach. We had a very nice week here. Recommended! Plus: Gael Holiday Homes really made an effort to make sure we were all right, calling us up before we travelled and the day after we arrived, responding quickly to a questio...more
The small house is in easy walking distance to all sights! It has been restored with love and taste. I would book it again any time!
Hi there This cottage was not very good. Level on cleaning was terrible. Dirt on toilet base. Dirty Cotten buds in the corner of our bedroom. Found a pair of pants in bedside cabinet. Lack of good seating in living room. It was well equipped and a good location.
This is the second time I have submitted this review. An excellently modernised old fisherman's cottage. The kitchen, bathroom, though a shaver point would have been useful, and downstairs w.c. are excellent. The Location is excellent with superb views and excellent opportunities to observe Dolphins and birds. However a slight movement of furniture revealed that there had been little, if any, cleaning for some considerable time. More explicit instructions on the hot water system, mentioned by other guests, would have been of great use as would instructions for the oven and toaster. The L...more
The flat was nice clean and tidy. Location was pretty good with a great view to the river. Sadly there were nit enough Toiletpaper, Handsoap and bin liner. Previous communication whas great.
I thought the property was great, gave us a lot of leeway in our timings and were we wanted to eat .
The house is in an excellent position and only a few minutes walk to the town centre. It is very well equipped with all the necessary tools for a relaxing stay.
Oystercatchers is in a fantastic, peaceful and tranquil location with stunning views and is fairly well equipped. However, the first impression as you arrive is not brilliant as the gate is that rusty that it will only stay closed with the help of a bicycle bungee. The only door that we were given a key to was stiff and not easy to open (this was mentioned in the visitors book by more than one person). We were very disappointed at the overall condition of the inside of the property and now fully understand why there are no photos of the kitchen area and both bathrooms. The furniture was, i...more
A great apartment, modern and clean with good wifi. Only issue is a very early last day checkout but I was able to discuss with the very helpful owner who was able to extend. 5 minutes walk to the centre and a nice pub a minutes walk away. I would certainly consider another visit. Well Done
Had a wonderful long weekend here with my husband and 2 year old son. The caravan was beautiful, well presented, very clean and had everything you need to cook and clean. The master bedroom is big with lots of storage. Kids beds are very narrow but that was ok for our son. Beds were super comfy. TV was a great size and signal was perfect. Kitchen and livingroom were a great size too. Bathroom was fab with a surprisingly big shower. Water was nice and hot. Very close to a kid's park and the water ( 2 min walk). Decked area is big and especially good if you have toddlers as you can ...more
Well furnished , comfortable, warm, holiday home. Bonus of having three toilets and 2 bathroom / shower rooms. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
A very spacious and well appointed house. Nice garden(s) and perfect location. We had two families in our party, a total of 4 adults and three children, and the property was pretty much ideal. It was roomy, the beds were very comfy, accommodation flexible and the the amenities (including washing machine, tumble drier and dish washer) were excellent. The pictures on the website didn't do it justice! Highly recommended and would happily stay there again.
