We love the beach huts, this year we rented 3 and took friends. The most relaxing break we have all year, take some great ingredients, switch off and enjoy peace.

Whilst you can re charge your tech and there is hot water, your own bathroom and shower - it is a perfect opportunity to de tech. With the most beautiful long stretch of sandy beach, visible from our cabin deck, wake up to stunning sunrises, fresh air and walks on the beach.

We love to cook on the camp fires provided and watch the sun go down.

The cabins are warm and cozy with log fires for extra warmth and cooking, and the kitchen is fully kitted with all you need,

Any neighbours are sufficiently far enough away to wave at but not over hear, the campsite is friendly well looked after and has lambs, goats and chickens pottering about.

We loved our time at harvest moon, being so close to the beach was the highlight, walking through the dunes, watching the sea, feeding the animals, it was a truly magical few days and we didn’t want to leave. No WiFi or electricity was a perk and allowed us to fully relax, please don’t change that!

My partner and I got married in August. The venue was perfect - gorgeous location, big enough to accommodate our guests, stunning views out to the sea with beautiful sand.

The beach huts were so lovely and had everything we needed despite being off grid - stove & hob with wood provided, coolbox, hot shower, WC, etc. All beautifully decorated. And the off gridness of it all made it such a break and unique experience from daily grind of city living.

Our friends and family were so happy and excited to be staying in the cabins and treehouses too and the kids also really enjoyed.

Staying in the hut was an experience of a lifetime and the little touches made to our cabin were extra lovely. Thank you for making it so special for us.

Our group had a brilliant stay at the beach cabins. Location is really magical - few minutes walk to a beautiful, empty beach, chickens and guinea hens wandering around the site. Cabins were comfortable and clean. Accessing toilet and shower outside was absolutely fine (just remember a light for nighttime!). Oven kept the cabin nice and cosy. Plenty of wood supplied for bonfires which we built every night. You can keep perishable (fridge) food cold enough in the cooler for about a day. Loads of outdoor toys for kids supplied and board games for adults if needed. Only extra thing I’d bring next time is a wet suit for swimming in the sea :)

Location and atmosphere could not be faulted. Staff lovely however the very basic accommodation and lack of attention to detail would stop us returning.
We value our outdoor space and our biggest issue was the the poor state of the balcony furniture, the unkempt surroundings, poor lighting and limited space for the 5 of us. The neighbouring cabins had families and they looked like they were loving it, very safe for kids running around, chickens and goats, beach a stones throw away so maybe just different strokes for different folks.

Stayed with a baby and a toddler and they loved it. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. Lamps provided for light which worked really well and it was great to be able to have a hot shower. Private, quiet beach what a bonus.
Don’t forget your towels, we did but were able to get some in an Asda near by. Whitekirk well worth a visit with small children.

This is the second time that we have had a Harvest Moon holiday. The location is wonderful, with access to a beautiful beach and wonderful views. it is an ideal place for a multigenerational (4 - 74 years) family holiday with interesting things to do nearby if the weather is not too good. The cabins are very comfortable and spaced far enough apart that you do not feel as if you were in a crowded campsite. There is plenty of hot water and an efficient gas double hob. The staff are quick to respond if you need anything.
Cabin 1 is special with its main bedroom windows giving a wonderful view of the sea, starry nights and beautiful sunrises.

This was our fifth stay at Harvest Moon, in the tents, now beach cabins , and the tree houses. And we are booking for another week next year. All the family love it. We first came when our grandsons were around 5 and 8 , they are now 12 and 15 and they were as happy here this year as when we first came. The animals, Pygmy Goats and Alpacas, and hens laying fresh eggs and hilarious guinea fowl,are a great attraction and provide endless fun and laughter. The honesty shop is also a great draw too. Of course the stunning, huge and almost empty Ravensheugh beach just 5 minutes walk away provides endless activity building sandcastles and drawing pictures ion the sand etc with rock pools to explore at either end and beautiful woods to walk through. We always swim in the blue green sea and enjoy jumping over the waves or surf boarding to shore. The wildlife is amazing and we specially love the hares leaping in the fields.
All the staff from the farm are so welcoming, friendly and give instant help if we need anything. They are also very kind and patient with the children. Paradise!

This is our third time staying with Harvest Moon, the whole place is magical. Cannot recommend it highly enough, a wonderful place to chill where the younger family members can explore freely and in safety. Our younger family members ages ranged from 2 to 12 and they all absolutely loved their experience. However as a septugenarian great nanna, my perfect moments were always the morning coffees drunk before the rest of the family woke while sitting on the back deck listening to the gentle roll of the waves and watching the sunrise. Just book it , you won't regret it l promise.

We had a perfect weekend at our Beach Cabin. It’s so chilled and relaxed and absolutely beautiful.

I was slightly nervous about there being no electricity but that turned into probably the most positive thing about the stay. Going to bed by candle light, in silence, in a wooden cabin was the most relaxed I’d felt in such a long time.

I can’t recommend Harvest Moon enough. Love the place!

I loved coming here last July,so I had to come back again to get more of the lovely private beach where I can walk for ages not seeing a soul, just relaxing and watching the Gannets dive into the sea.I love the walks all around the farm and woodland as it's so . so peaceful.

The lodge is great with two different verandahs to take in the views and sun and it has more than enough space to relax.

The people who work here are so friendly and helpful and they really make such a difference when we are here as we feel so welcome and at home.

The reason why I think I will keep coming back to this little bit of paradise in East Lothian is that for the first time in years , I actually started to really , deeply relax as there are no distractions , just beautiful scenery and that is such a hard thing to experience nowadays in this hectic world.

This is the 4th time we have been here now and we bring more and more people with us each time as we love it so much and want to share it. The cabins are great and get better each time we come with slight upgrades and modern touches but not too much to still have that in the middle of nowhere experience. The beach is a 5min walk and easy to get to which our kids loved. The owners are very nice and come round daily to feed goats with the kids and chat. We have already recommended to others that are coming soon to stay in the tree houses, which also look amazing. Location is great for Edinburgh visit and north berwick is a lovely nearby town.

I cannot recommend harvest moon enough - we got married there and all of our friends loved the accomodation but the highlight for us was the honeymoon beach hut. We have been staying at the cabins for over a decade, now our children are grown it is still their favourite holiday and they always make time to come with us.

We may make this trip every year until we grow too old to build a beach camp !

The site is perfectly located for lots of trips out to various places but honestly we never leave and instead take the opportunity to switch off, get books out, drawing, painting, swimming and embrace no tech for a while.

The cabins are well stocked with kitchen equipment and we take pleasure in preparing great meals, cooked slowly over the outside fire with good wine and music.

Well appointed beach cabins in an ideal location near to a wonderful quiet beach. Great for paddleboarding dune sledging and kite flying.
The log fired oven i think has seen better days and the baffle that directs heat to oven or hob seems to do nothing so was hard to get enough heat into oven, bnut it heats the cabin very well , thankfully it was warm enough to bbq most days and there is a gas hob too

Easy back roads and farm tracks to cycle on to Tantallon castle or North Berwick
The beach and little harbour with view to the castle and bass rock at Seacliff are also worth a walk/cycle.

The museum of flight was v good and there was enough to keep the kids amused there also for 4 hrs

We also went out to bass rock on Sula 3 nice boat and inforamtive guide and lots of wildlife to see

And finally Go Ape above water no harness (foxfalls) at foxlake water park is a must

This was our second time at Harvest Moon, and we had just a good time as the first. The location and setting are stunning and it’s super relaxing here. Everything you need is provided for pretty much, making a comfortable stay. Cabins are well equipped and there’s a charging station and gas ring in addition to the wood burning stove. My only feedback for improvement would be better mattress on the main bed (cabin bed is very comfortable) and the sofa bed in the lounge area isn’t comfy to sit on in any way shape or form! Toilet room could do with a clean and refurb soon although I get that it is partially open to the elements. But overall we had a wonderful time and it’s just the perfect setting for our children to play safely but still have a feeling of freedom and adventure. I’m sure we will be back!

These cabins are in a lovely location so near the beautiful beach. Our family had 2 cabins and the cottage. The whole week was blessed with decent weather. We had a great time.
The only negative I’d say is that one, 2l coke bottle of frozen water is no where near adequate for the size of cool box. At least 2 but more like 3 or 4 would be needed.

Our family had a most wonderful time at Harvest Moon. Glamping was new to us, but the warm reception from the staff members, even prior to our arrival, made it a stress-free and comfortable stay for us . Alex helped us to figure out the best way to get there. Petra, who is a gem, went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable and Gary was a delight to chat with about the animals and the environment.
The landscape is beautiful and lends itself to relaxation! Our children loved spending time on the secluded beach. The clear skies made it so easy to gaze at various constellations and even planets and we can't forget the chickens, goats and adorable alpacas which we had the pleasure of feeding. We even spotted several hares. Our children also made some new friends!
Altogether, it was a delightful and memorable vacation and we would love to go back sometime. We will highly recommend Harvest Moon Holidays!

We had a fantastic stay at Harvest Moon - what an ideal little holiday site. They were really accomodating for my partner, who is mildly disabled, and the little cabin was amazing and in idyllic surroundings. My children are grown now, but I cannot imagine a better holiday for families! The beach, the animals, the open space and the fantastic little cabins, with a cabin-bed built into them. Kids would LOVE this! Petra, the host, couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Swam in the sea, walked the beach, enjoyed the big sky views in all directions, no wifi - we have already booked to return next year. Thank you!

We booked a Monday to Friday in a beach cabin & we were blessed with gorgeous sunshine and a light sea breeze. It’s just so peaceful and relaxing here. The vibe is super chill. We never want to leave. Kids and families love coming here and this is why we return year after year. Beach walks, kite flying, late evenings chatting around the outdoor fire; back to basics and a total reset for everyone. We had another absolutely perfect family holiday.

The Beach Hut was everything we had hoped for and more.
The location was ideal, within minutes you could be on a beautiful beach , hidden by by the sand dunes, which the kids had lots of fun sledging down on the sledges provided by the campsite owners.
I would definitely recommend this place and we are already looking at booking to go back next year.

We've been coming to Harvest Moon as a family for 5 years and have always loved it. We've got twin 11 year old girls and they enjoy it now as much now as they did when we first came. The cabins and treehouses are in a fantastic location with a stunning beach right on the doorstep, and there's loads to do in the area. The animals have always been a big hit with the kids, and Gary, Petra and Chris have all been amazing with them too. We really love it here and will be back!

We recently had the pleasure of staying in the stunning log cabins nestled behind the dunes on the shores of a private beach. I organised a party of 8 adults and 9 children in 3 cabins. From the moment we arrived, everyone was captivated by the sheer beauty of the surroundings and the tranquillity that enveloped the entire farm and camp.
The log cabins are perfect, exuding rustic charm and offering a perfect blend of comfort and authenticity, thoughtfully designed to create a cosy and inviting atmosphere. The beach is incredible and the golden sands stretched as far as the eye could see. The kids had endless hours sledging down the giant sand dunes and playing in the waves and many memories were banked by kids and parents alike. The set-up is great there is a communal campfire with an abundance of wood to burn, and BBQs to use. It was really good to stay somewhere where there were no hidden extras for things like wood etc and we loved using the honesty boat shop to fetch fresh eggs, milk and emergency chocolate. Lovely to have the animals around especially the chickens who popped in after breakfast to hoover up the odd crumb of cereal that had missed a mouth or two.

The amenities provided in the log cabin were excellent for simple camp cooking. The owners are relaxed, welcoming
and incredibly accommodating, ensuring that everything was in order and promptly addressing any questions we had.
I wholeheartedly recommend booking a stay at this log cabin, everyone was so happy being there we had an incredible time and will definitely be back. Thank you!

This is the second time we have stayed with Harvest Moon with our extended family. The first time we booked two treehouses; this time we stayed in the Beach Cabins. For us, the Beach Cabins have been the ideal accommodation with plenty of room and a very short stroll to the sea. The beds were all very comfortable and the cool box/ gas hobs/ rechargeable lights meant the lack of electricity was no problem at all and added to the fun (one of our houses had some problems with the charging point but they were able to use the one in our other cabin, and could have gone down to the farmhouse to use the recharging points if necessary). It was lovely having plenty of blankets and hot water bottles, as well as a wood burning stove. The honesty shop, in a disused boat, is awesome and the chickens, guinea fowl and goats add a kind of companionship. The youngest members enjoyed having sledges for the beach! The whole set up is fantastically relaxing and just what we needed. Last holiday we went into Edinburgh for a couple of days, but this time we didn't stray further than North Berwick, where there is plenty to see. We would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our trip, it's our second time in the cabins and we spent loads of time in the cabin, outside and about, playing with the goats, chickens etc and football in the field. We had fun with the bonfire and at night we lit candles and roasted marshmallows. It was lovely. X

We had a brilliant three days (4 adults and 3 kids) in the beach cabins. The quality of the design and layout of the cabins is excellent. We loved the cabin bed and the wood burning stove, sink and gas stove are a brilliant addition which makes this feel cosy and luxurious. The setting itself is beautiful. Our kids could play and roam, see the animals and surf at the beach. We took the sledges along to the sand dunes one evening which was great fun. Petra was a fabulous host. The setup of the whole site is so quirky and thoughtful, especially the honesty shop on the boat! Also, the surrounding area is great. We went to fox lake to do ringos, went into North Berwick and Dunbar (would recommend The Lobster Shack, Alandas for ice cream and Hector’s for Neapolitan pizza. We will be back and have already recommended to friends and family!

Visited with the grandchildren. They loved the beach house, the beach, sand dune sledging.
Petra was a fabulous host and allowed the kids to feed the goats and chickens. They were also allowed to collect eggs from the chicken coop.
The accommodation was amazing, wood burning oven was fab, the whole cabin was cosy and just a short walk from the amazing beach.

Fabulous location, and perfect for small kids. From bottle feeding week old lambs, kayaking on the estuary, flying kites and spending the week free range with loads of space to explore. As a family of 5 the cabins have ample space and the addition of a gas hob this year makes the morning cup of tea a little more straightforward! Cooking and heating on the wood stove is fun, and unlimited wood for an evening bonfire makes for a relaxing way to end the day. We had great day-trips to Edinburgh and North Berwick to keep everyone entertained when the weather wasn't perfect, but to be fair we had blue skies for most of the week. Petra was always on hand to attend to any day to day problems and is very helpful.

We will definitely be back.

This is the second time we have stayed at harvest moon- the first we stayed in the treehouses and this time we opted for a beach hut. We came with a group of friends who were also staying here. The stay has been amazing. The beach hut is lovely. Our kids had so much fun playing outside, feeding the lambs and chickens and don’t want to go home. We were very luck with the weather and made the most of the beach, outside areas and fire pits. Will be returning again

Had a wonderful time at Harvest Moon - would definitely go again!
The location is excellent - really nice secluded farm setting - with animals to boot! We had a pretty-much-private beach and ability to North Berwick, Dunbar and other local villages by bike was great!
The cabins were lovely and clean, though got a bit chilly at times during our early April stay if we didn't keep piling the logs on the fire! A plethora of hot water bottles helped there, however! Being able to cook on the range was novel too, and the kids loved helping me out with it.
The staff really made it a brilliant stay though - couldn't do enough for us, and were brilliant with the kids.
Overall really enjoyed our stay, will definitely consider returning!

we really enjoyed our stay in cabin 1. the cabin was well equipped and had plenty of space for a family of four to sleep comfortably. i've had to score comfort as 3 just because on occastion it was very cold.

The wood fire stove wearmed things up nicelty once it got going.

the boat shop was well stocked. we only actually bought goose eggs but they were excellent

Petra could not have been more helpful, she was always available and very friendly. our shower broke one day and she appeared very quickly to sort it for us.

Side note: missing Rudy already.

it was great having plenty of wood available - it might have been useful to have an axe to hand so we could chop up some of the bigger bits.

alex arranging the marquee and also taking delivery of the beer kegs in the run up to our stay was very helpful.

our kids in particular have had a wonderful time and we all have the post holiday blues today.

absolutely hope to come again some time soon.

We had a lovely weekend at the beach cabin on the last weekend in October - and had the whole site to ourselves! We loved the location just steps away from the beach, the woodburning stove kept us super cosy, and the cabin was clean and comfortable. The staff were really nice and let us book for 2 nights instead of 3 because it was in the quiet season, and even gave us late checkout on the Sunday. I'd stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay at Harvest Moon. We had the cabin site to ourselves which was an absolute treat. The location is fabulous and feels like a great escape from the real world.

The cabins were excellent. A great combination of enough comfort - beds, toilet, shower - with enough adventure for the children - cooking on the wood burning stove, marshmallows on the fire pit and spending the evening by candlelight.

Greeted by Petra, her lovely dog and instant tranquility upon arrival which led into a very relaxing weekend visit. We were very pleased that the cabin was spacious, clean and cosy even in late August; the candles and solar charged lanterns added great atmosphere in the evenings. The location was outstanding with only a few minutes walk to a large, sandy beach. We also loved the added bonus of our own fire pit which let us sit out at night and watch the stunning starry skies. Cabin was good size and beds were comfortable. A few cobwebs on ceiling and some issues with hot water but got resolved. We met members of staff, Petra, Chris and Gary who were all lovely and gave us excellent customer service. The only thing I hadnt realised at time of booking was that there was no electricity apart from usb ports for rechargeable torches & phones but we managed fine. Thank you.

The weather was kind to us and we had a lovely time.
Very cosy once the stove was lit.
Beautiful coastline.
We swam in the sea and cycled both days.
Could do with a gas hob for making cups of tea.

This is the third time we have stayed her with our grandchildren and each time it just gets better. So peaceful and a stone’s throw away from the most idyllic beach with virtually no one else in sight. We can’t wait to come back.

We stayed as a family of 5 for 5 days, location is inbetween Dunbar and North Berwick, the location of the huts are well spaced out with plenty of room for a kick about with the little ones and lots space to explore with the beach a short walk away.

Kids loved seeing the animals each day and the huts provided lots of space for a family of 5 and are in great condition and clean.

The staff are great, helpful and friendly.

We will be returning in the future.

Our second stay at the beach cabins. Everything in the cabin was perfect. The beds are very comfortable with soft fluffy pillows and pristine white linens. Cooking on the fire stove is great fun, and a lovely touch was that the team had built the first fire for us, just ready for us to light to make a cuppa. We stayed at the same time as friends and used the communal BBQ and campfire. The site itself is lovely - surrounded by old pine trees, with chickens roaming free and little pygmy goats and horses in neighbouring fields! Only a short walk to a beautiful beach, with some amazing sand dunes, and gently sloping sand making it easy to splash around and swim in the sea. We even had a friendly seal pop up and say hello a couple of times! Often we were the only people on the beach! The evenings are magical with no sounds except the waves on the shore and the wind in the leaves, and you're far enough away from light pollution to get a good dark sky and see lots of stars! Can't wait to be back!

We stayed in a cabin with our two children (aged 1 and 5) and had the most wonderful time. The location is superb with the most beautiful beach just a couple of minutes walk. We went sledging in the sand dunes and swimming in the sea. The kids also loved the animals and building a fire.

Another lovely, too brief, stay at Harvest Moon. We have a very happy time here and no-one seems to miss wifi too much. The kids were able to use their data when necessary so there were no meltdowns on that score. The weather was excellent and the beach is always stunning and close to empty. I ( as the only one who did any dishes) was pleased that there is now hot water at the sink. The thing I find most difficult is the very long wait for that first cup of tea in the morning, but next time (and there's likely to be a next time) I may have a solution to that...

This beautiful glamping site is a dream come true for families. Right by the beach, secluded with plenty of wildlife, it's just heaven. We stayed in one of the Beach Huts for 3 nights- 4 adults, 2 7 year olds, a nine year old and a 6 month old baby. In the mornings the children ran about on site playing ball and in the afternoons we went to the beach where they slid down the sand dunes, swam in the sea and collected shells and rocks. The stove is great once it's going but it needs a good hour to heat up so bring your own camping stove if you're the kind that needs a coffee upon waking. The two double beds were very comfy but the bunk bed was a bit unsteady and the mattresses could have been firmer. There are curtains for sepwrating the bedrooms but I think these need replacing for something more sturdy as they kept coming off the track.

We stayed up late once the children were in bed, chatting around the fire pit- it really was bliss. The honesty shop is great for essentials and not expensive. We got Asda to deliver some shopping on the night we arrived but there is a Tesco 15 mins away.

We went into Edinburgh on our last day which was wonderful too. A perfect holiday which we will treasure forever.

The cabin was fantastic and I would recommend a stay here. We had two small children and the site was very fun and safe for them. The loved the cupboard bed, the play house, feeding the lambs and seeing all the other animals. The beach is perfect and just over the dunes from the site. We went rock pooling, flew kites and collected shells. The gas powdered shower is hot and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. Only little niggles were that we paid extra for a fire pit which I feel should’ve been included, the towel hire I feel should have been refreshed during our stay and the chests of drawers in the bedrooms needed repair. There was a charging unit in the cabin for lanterns and phones which was very handy. Petra was very kind and welcoming and great with the kids. We will no doubt return!

Harvest Moon was the perfect place to keep all three of our boys happy who range in age from 5 to 13! We need not have worried what a week with no electricity would do to a teenager as he was content feeding the animals & tending to the camp fire not to mention the trips to the beach & endless frisbee. Our 5yo had the time of his life being allowed freedom to explore in the safety of the camp & play with the lambs. It was our second time staying and we are already looking at next year! Truly wonderful place for families of all ages.

...this is the second time we have visited Harvest Moon, it is a beautiful place to relax, recharge and (re)connect with Nature.

Its a great combination of countryside and unspoilt (very private) coastline.

Its simplicity is its charm (although a comfy sofa would be a great addition).

We had a great stay in the Swallow Beach hut. The hut space is utilised very well and is well equipped with everything you need. It was really clean and well presented and more than enough room to relax. Our children loved the farm animals on their door step and enjoyed helping feeding them each day. The beach is a stones throw away which is lovely and quiet. There are lots of family activities to do in the area, we just wish we had more time to explore. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The little shop on site was great and it was great to have wood on tap for your stove inside the hut. Overall, a great holiday and would love to come back. We loved our stay at the beach cabin. We stayed with another family who were in the cabin next door but our kids made friends with all the other kids staying in the other cabins too.The staff were absolutely wonderful and so helpful and friendly. The location is idyllic with its own beach entrance. The huts are so well thought out with all You could need for the most comfortable off grid adventure. It was very spacious for a family of four and we had fun cooking on the wood burning stove which also made the cabin very cosy within minutes. We will definitely be back and are already raving about it to all our friends. Thank you Harvest Moon!

My daughter Flick and I had a wonderful stay. It was great to get away from busy everyday life and really chill out and spend quality time together. Our stay was very peaceful a real slowing down experience which we both needed. The surrounding area is bountiful and beautiful. The staff were all very warm and welcoming. The wee stove took me a night to get used to, but once I had it was great and easy to use. Not having a fridge proved a bit of a problem but if visiting again I would do my food choices differently (learning experience). Our cabin (Heron) could have done with a few wee tweaks to bring it up to value for money standard. Double bed mattress on both beds require to be replaced (I did mention this to staff member, so hope it happens). Curtain poles are a bit wobbly on some of the windows (end knobs fell off a few times causing pole to slip out) also some are hard to pull over - would suggest curtain rings rather than slide on pole) There was hooks missing on divider curtain.
The above said, cabin was spacious with plenty seating and the front porch just a joy to sit out on, read and watch nature. Our holiday really was a delight and we would visit again. Thank you

The Beach Cabin provided the perfect getaway for our family of five. The location close to the beach was perfect - and what an amazing beach to have on your doorstep! It was really quiet, with long stretches of golden sands, clear sea, dunes and rockpools. We were able to complete unwind, away from the pressures of modern life and our three boys (12, 10 & 8) didn't miss the TV/computer games/phones at all. They especially loved feeding the goats and cuddling the friendly chickens. We all enjoyed cooking over the camp fire and the evenings toasting marshmallows. We had a really wonderful, relaxing break. We would certainly recommend the Beach Cabin and are considering another visit in future.

We had a lovely and relaxing time in our Harvest Moon beach cabin.
The cabin itself was very welcoming and comfortable and our grandson loved seeing the Guinea fowls and chickens running around and especially enjoyed visiting and feeding the goats.
The cabins provide excellent access to the beautiful beach nearby and Dunbar had plenty to keep us entertained and fed!
The staff were very helpful and friendly.

We had a brilliant stay here, I lived near Lochouses 50 years ago , it was wonderful to have a holiday with my 4 grandchildren, it’s still so unspoiled, such a stunning area. The cabin was fun , and way above expectations! Especially loo and shower, beds were very comfortable. It all worked really well. The kids loved the dune sledging, ( but only one decent mat)? .... the animals, especially the chickens! and of course the stunning beach.
No electricity was fine, but one thing I would have liked is hot running water in kitchen .....boiling a kettle to wash dishes. For 8 was a pain, as the fire had to be lit too!

We had an amazing stay at the beach cabin as a family we all loved it being in walking distance to the beach and being able to fully switch off and relax. The facilities were great in the cabin and my daughter especially loved sleeping in the wee cubby. When I seen the shower and toilet outside the cabin my heart sank to be honest as I thought cold shower but my goodness it wasn’t!! The shower was hot and a fantastic strong shower and it was so nice coming out and getting a lovely view too. It’s such a stunning spot and great for families to connect (no WiFi) and switch off. We made memories as a family toasting marshmallows and star watching, flying kites, bbq, beach picnics and games which are priceless. We will definitely be back

We travelled from Bristol for our week at Harvest Moon and were not disappointed! The cabin had everything we needed and our boys (5 and 3) loved the experience of cooking outdoors and having chickens and goats on their doorstep. The deserted beach with fantastic views of Bass Rock was beautiful, and being only a minute’s walk from the cabin meant we were able to make the most it. We enjoyed a few trips to Edinburgh, coastal walks from Dunbar and a boat trip from North Berwick. All in all, a perfect week and we hope to return again one day. Thank you HM team!

We stayed at Beach Cabin 4 at Harvest Moon for 4 days and had a fabulous time. It's quite a back to basics experience but that's what we wanted and it really gave us a great opportunity to switch off and slow down. We particularly liked tending to the stove for hot water and using the candle lanterns for light in the evenings. The cabins are arranged in an L-shape around a communal area that houses the chicken coop, barbecue area and bonfire pit as well as lots of open space for the kids to run around and meet the other kids staying there. It's a very short walk to a beautiful sandy beach. We found the bed a little uncomfortable and the flies in the cabin at night were pretty annoying and impossible to get rid of, so we'd suggest taking something to deal with those. Despite these little niggles, it's an idyllic place and we'd definitely go back!

Just back from our second stay at the beach cabins at Harvest Moon Holidays. This place is heaven for families with the beach on your doorstep and plenty of safe space for children to run about and have adventures. We had a fabulous long weekend at one of the beach cabins. We picked the right weekend, as the weather was fabulous. The cabins are very comfortable and spacious, but the best thing is the location: about 5 minutes walk to what is effectively a private beach... Note that there is no electricity in the cabins, but the stove is very easy to use and practical. Note however that we stayed at the cabins during a very dry spell, so the wood was very dry and the fire easy to light. Not sure how straight forward it during a rainy spell. charged lanterns are provided, but with days being so long, we hardly needed to use them.
The cabins are very clean and comfortable. All in all, a fabulous place to stay.
One last tip... do not follow Goolge Maps directions to Harvest Moon Holidays as you will end up in a field...

Our family loved our stay in the cabin. It was close to the beach and the kids loved the football goals and cooking on a fire.

We could have done with 2 more better and relaxing outdoor seats as the bench and one of the sun chairs at hut 4 were not comfortable.

We absolutely loved our stay at Harvest Moon. We have two children - 3 and 18 months - and they absolutely loved being outside for the week. They loved the chickens and the goats and spent hours running around the wide open spaces around the cabins. We felt comfortable letting them run around knowing they were safe.
The cabin itself was ideal. Very comfortable and a real novelty having to build fires to cook and heat the cabin. We really enjoyed it.
The staff were brilliant. Always happy to help and we’re great with the kids.

Harvest Moon is less than an hour from Edinburgh, but feels like a different world. It’s so peaceful and so beautiful, we didn’t have a choice but to slow down and appreciate it.

There are just seven or so huts on site and they are well spaced out. The communal areas are well maintained and safe for kids. The huts are well equipped and comfortable. We’d definitely come back.

We spent the long weekend at Harvest Moon and had the most amazing time.

The cabin was perfect and had everything that we needed, even a fireguard for the stove which provided peace of mind with our one-year-old crawling around.

Despite it being very cold outside, we were warm enough in the evening with the stove lit and blankets provided.

The location is just fantastic, just a 30-second stroll to the beach.

We had a wonderful few days staying in the beach cabins. The accommodation is fantastic and well laid out. WE loved the simplistic feel of the place yet with touch of luxury (hot showers!!!) It was lovely to see our young children (3 and 5) run around safe and free with all the animals to keep them entertained. The staff were warm and welcoming and made our stay so easy. We spent our time surfing, kayaking, SUP boarding in the sea/river and sand sledging. Much needed and much enjoyed holiday. We hope to be back soon. Thank you!

We had a fantastic time staying in the cabin. Very comfortable and once you get your stove set up and keep it replenished, the cabins are cosy. Be aware that the toilet and shower are out of the back of the property, useful to know in advance if you have young kids but no issue for us with a 5 year old. Lovely location, amazing to have the animals on site which the kids loved and was a lovely escape for us. Didn't miss not having electricity and there are phone charging facilities in cabins.

We were met on arrival and shown around. The cabins are really well designed - plenty of space and everything you need. The cabins are apart from each other and there’s a communal space in the middle with some chickens in pens and some Pygmy goats to see. There’s plenty of space to play and run about in. The cabins are not far from the beach which feels quite private as it’s only accessed from the farm or by people walking in a a mile or so from either side. Cabins are well equipped and cosy. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The honesty shop has essential items and is super handy. No complaints! We will be back :)

This was our 4th year of coming to Harvest Moon. Always such a warm welcome. Incredibly friendly and beautiful place. Short walk to gorgeous beaches and woodland walks and towns a short drive away for cafes etc. It is a wonderful spot. The cabins are great and so much thought is put into it being a lovely destination. We missed the lambs but the goats are awesome.

Staff were lovely, especially the the staff member who came to ask if the kids wanted to help feed the chickens and goats each day (I’m sure his name is Chris) he really went out of his way to include them and my kids loved helping - real highlight of the holiday!! What a beautiful place, the kids had the best time. The beach is a very short walk and where you will want to spend most your time if the weather is kind. The cabins are great, everything you would need and so nice a cosy with the fire. Bean bags would be a great addition to add a little bit more comfort for relaxing at night if there are more than 2 adults. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Also not much information on takeaway services or if any deliver - this would be handy too, fine cooking for a couple of days but nice for an option when your on holiday. All in all fantastic time and we will be back.

The location is fabulous. The days are great with lots to do. It’s the evenings and nights that are less good. It’s dark at 5pm in October here and very cold. So sitting inside is the only option. The sofa is really uncomfortable to sit and snuggle in, the stove is great once it gets going but needs constantly fed wood - don’t want to think of the number of trees we went through to stay warm whilst there... definitely not eco friendly. We found socks from previous guests on the floor and didn’t find the place very clean, especially given coronavirus. In short, this place is fun in the summer but in the winter, it’s dark and cold and not much fun to relax in the evenings.

We had a brilliant 3 days here. Lots to do, animals to feed, beach to enjoy, walks, bonfires, fire pits.
Most important thing was freedom for the kids. First time our 5 year old was out of our sight. Slightly nervous but it was good to give him some space. He had a great time.
It’s only 40mins away but felt like the middle of nowhere and no WiFi was one of the attractions.

We had an amazing time at Harvest Moon. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the location was great - close to a beach and the kids loved the animals.
The beach cabin was really well equipped with everything we could need and more. We stayed with a toddler and a baby and the high chair and cot were good quality and a fire guard was left to put round the wood burner which was fab. We definitely plan to come back.

The very friendly, helpful people we met on the farm made our stay most enjoyable. When we needed assistance they stepped in and sorted the situation, for which we were very grateful.

We stayed in a Beach Cabin with a 1 and 2-year old. The location was fantastic near to the beach and the onsite chickens and goats kept the children entertained. Petra, the host, was friendly and had great knowledge of the local area. The lack of electricity was our main concern but the provided lanterns and candles kept the cabin light. Heating and cooking were provided by the wood-burning stove which once hot gave off enough heat to warm the cabin.

Excellent place to stay, we have returned yet again. The whole family had so much to do within our 4 day break. The Sledging on the sand dunes was great fun, long walks to see the farms animals were great, night time fires and of course the last night building the bonfire.
We could see everyone gradually coming out of the beach cabins and sitting enjoying the moment. The Staff , Petra , Chris and Gary just know how to make you feel at home. Be back again very soon. Take Care.

My husband and I had THE BEST stay here with our three boys. They loved every aspect of the camp. The fires, the proximity to the beach, the chickens and the goats that were next to our cabin. Unplugging and getting right back to basics was fabulous. Cooking everything "like cowboys" as my husband described it was such an experience. As a family we have definitely found "our place". I could say so much more but ultimately.....if you want to switch off, unplug and rewind then definitely the place to go. Have already recommended to all family and friends!

We had booked a long weekend away for our 8 year old, us and her grandparents. Despite a last minute panic due to rapidly changing social distancing restrictions, we still enjoyed a very relaxing 3 night break. (Grandparents stayed nearby in their campervan). The weather was suddenly quite chilly but the outdoor firepit and BBQ kept us toasty warm and able to socialise late into the starry night. The cabin was very spacious for our newly reduced group, and beds were very warm and comfy. We had planned to do things in the daytimes, but all felt so relaxed and content on the site that we just enjoyed feeding the animals (very friendly alpacas and goats), watching the soap opera of the chickens, and walks on the beach and sand dunes. The site was perfect for our daughter as she could run around outside, visible to us the whole time. We started planning our 2nd trip whilst we were there! I don't think I've ever felt so rested after just 3 nights away!

A great setting, with local access to the beach. Close to all amenities in the local area, which is ideal for whatever activities you are interested in during your stay. Great beach location that allows kids to enjoy the freedom of playing in the outdoor. Lots of great activities near by.

Accommodation is basic (no electricity) and the log burner takes 2 hours to cook but all adds to the fun of the adventure. I do wonder how the accommodation will fair over time e.g. starting to see a bit of rust on shower fittings etc.

Staff are very relaxed and friendly.

Great area for a communal bonfire, kids loved the animals and the honesty shop has all essentials.

We had the most amazing stay at harvest moon! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful and spotless, the children spent hours in the sea, which they assured us was warm lol. Hours were spent outside by the fire pit toasting marshmallows, while stargazing at the clearest of sky’s on two of our evenings. We were lucky enough to see numerous shooting stars over both these nights. The cabins are extremely cosy and comfy! At this very minute trying to get dates organised and book for the spring! Harvest Moon was the perfect place for our extended family getaway (grandparents, parents, three year old and 3 month baby) . We had a delightful beach cabin. These are really well designed to give some privacy and had a hot shower. Our three year old loved sleeping in the cupboard bed which would have also been comfortable for a couple. He fed the goats and chicken enthusiastically and collected eggs from Nancy (apparently the best ever chicken) and loved playing in the play house. The fantastic beach was less than a 5 minute walk and the place we spent most time. Lots of paddling and kite flying and we even had a dip in the sea. The fire pit was a great resource and we barbequed and cooked a curry in the cauldron supplied, toasted marsh mallows and sat around the fire in the evenings chatting and star gazing. A large solar panel was provided for charging essentials. Supermarkets were a 20 minute drive away but the little shop in a boat was useful too. I can't think of anything which would have made our stay better. The cabin was cosy with nice thick duvets and clean linen. It had a large cool box and large bottles of frozen water were provided each day. We ended our stay with a trip to North Berwick for a lobster lunch treat.

Lovely cabin within 30 second walk of stunning beach to body board, relax, go rock pooling, bird watching or paddle in an inlet pool.

Kids loved looking after the chickens and visiting the goats. Plenty of space to kick a ball and throw a frisbee. Compfy seats on the verandah too for mum to put her feet up and have a tea or wine whilst kids roasting marshmellows. Not more to ask for really.

Great idea to keep cars in a carpark as felt so safe and we all enjoyed buying treats and charging phones in the boat.

We've been twice now and all 3 kids (13, 10 and 8) want to go again.

We have stayed at Harvest Moon quite a few times over the years, both with toddlers and now teens, so we have a really good idea of what works for our family. This is really one of our favourite staycation locations. it is the most peaceful place, where you can really switch off from everyday life and work and tech!

The new beach cabins are great, we were used to the safari tents, so found the new cabins really warm and light and bright. Lots of space inside for a family of 5 and we have travelled before with 7 and still had lots of room. the cooking facilities are great, indoors and out. We recommend you order an outdoor camp stove and tripod, really good for a slow cooked farm beef or lamb. This year we also borrowed a Webber from the communal area, which was immaculately clean so we could BBQ as the weather was just amazing.

We always stock up at Asda Dunbar for our stay and use the on site boat shop for anything you run out of, milk, eggs, bread etc.
Take a football, kite and frisbee, go to the beach for shells and a great walk in the most stunning setting with a simple picnic of good wine and local farm bread and cheese and just relax.

There is no electricity, don't stay here if you want to work from your laptop, allow your phone to run out and switch off! (you can charge in the boat if needed)

A wonderfully relaxing break. Loved the location and the walks through the dunes and trips to John Muir park and along the Tyne. Fantastic birdlife if you are into ornithology! The cabins are well appointed with a great wood burning stove and the rechargeable lanterns provide enough light for atmospheric evenings and the cool box functions perfectly well. The staff Petra and Gary were on hand to deal with anything and very personable as well. Great holiday. Expect to return.

The perfect getaway nestled behind sandy dunes. Comfortable cabins with great beds, hot showers and flushing loos but no electricity which forces you to slow down. Collect eggs, light the wood burner, walk along a deserted beach with views of Bass rock, bbq local produce and toast marshmallows round the campfire. Kids of all ages go free range, help with the goats and chickens, brave the sea and make new friends. An honesty shop in a boat offers provisions on site and lots to explore nearby: horse riding, a local lobster shack, Tantallon castle. The team here are friendly, laid back and go above and beyond. A hidden gem. Can’t wait to return.

We stayed for one week at the end of August. It was great to be one minute to the beach for our three children. The place is so cosy and also family friendly as well as great staff. The staff even let us borrow their portable solar panel charger so we could charge our phones but you can charge them in the boat which is an honesty shop as well. The cool box works surprisingly well and every day fresh ice blocks are delivered and you can pick up additional ones at the farm. We really enjoyed having a chicken for the week. As well as the beach there is so much near by To do with children from going on a boat to Bass rock, East links park, historic castles and only 45 mins into Edinburgh for the zoo. We have stayed at both the tree houses and the beach cabins now and every time we visit it is MAGICAL.

This is my 3rd stay at Harvest Moon, it never disappoints, the location is perfect with such easy access to the most stunning beach, you can quite happily just stay on site and explore.
But there are also some really wonderful attractions very close by, The National Museum of Flight is brilliant, Tantallon Castle is stunning our kids had a great time at East Links family park and Foxlake adventure offers a great array of fun things to do,
Toasting marshmallows in the evening and cooking up a storm on the log burning stove is great fun, the kids loved stocking up the wood pile and visiting the animals it really is just a wonderful place to get away and feel in touch with nature.

The beach huts are situated just a short walk from a beautiful deserted stretch of beach. We were often the only ones on the beach. The beach hut itself was cute and quirky but with fantastic, comfortable beds. Cooking on the wood fired stove was easy, and in the evening the stove made made our beach hut feel lovely and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped. The shower always had tomnes of hot water and the towels were luxurious and soft. Although there are 7 beach huts, we never felt crowded or overlooked as we were tucked away in the trees, and even had our own lovely hammock looking out over the beach. We had a communal campfire one evening with the other guests but on other evenings enjoyed toasting marshmallows at our own firepit. The perfect holiday and can't wait to go back!

Now our 6th stay at Lochhouses but the first in the new Beach Cabins.
Although the same size as the tents, the cabins seem larger partly due to the increased height without the draped linings. Everything else as before: - comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and hot shower when needed.
We could have done with a couple of hooks in the loo either to hang a lantern from or to put a towel in for general use. There used to be some but I guess they got mislaid in the refurb.
We find its just a great place to relax and unwind especially this year with the stresses of Covid ever present.
See you again next year hopefully.

We all had a wonderful time. Excellent spacious accommodation in a beautiful natural setting. One of the most amazingly deserted beaches even in excellent weather. Sand dunes, crystal clear water and an array of sea birds. Staff made sure we had everything we needed and were very helpful and friendly. Kids didn’t want to come home and have asked to go again. We were also able to explore Edinburgh and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Would definitely recommend.

Third family visit to Harvest Moon. Just like the previous two, it was excellent. Lots of things to do but with a back to basics feel whether you choose a cabin or treehouse. Local area has plenty to offer but if you want to get away from it all, switch the phone off and forget the emails, this is the place to be. Kids love it. The outdoor fire pit to cook over, the bonfire, the chickens and goats and the vast array of birds. Over the three days not once did we even hear about an XBOX or You Tube!! It's a 2 minute walk to the quietest beach we've ever visited. 28 degrees and about 20 people on the whole beach!! Amazing!
Staff are very accommodating and very nice. Full of chat and information and listen to any requests you may have and act on them instantly.
Will be returning as soon as we can for a 4th stay!

I booked with a small party of mid teens, at the last minute as the return to school looms. They loved the cabin, although some found their sleep disturbed at night as we are all in the one subdivided wooden room. The situation so near the beach is amazing with wonderful bird life and views. Most other cabins had young families which looked ideal. Very helpful staff, easily contacted.

Enjoyable and peaceful stay.
The cabins were spacious and well equipped. Some of the furnishings, for example the kitchen table needed a deeper clean (the grooves in the table were full of dried food and bits that needed scraping out). The futon/sofa isn’t great for sitting on and slips down and generally is a little hard work.
The water inside the cabin is cold only, so to wash up you do need to get the stove going to heat water....in a massive kettle, which is great. The stove heats the cabin really well and you can cook on it. There is unlimited wood, cut to size, onsite.

The beds we found uncomfortable, you could feel the mattress springs, our eldest who is 15 said the same about the cupboard bed, so she folded the duvet in half and slept that way and said it was comfortable. We found a spare duvet and put it underneath us which rectified the situation in the main bedroom as we were very comfortable after that.
There is nowhere to hang clothes in the main bedroom, it’s drawers only. Another little bug bare was there was no shelf to put anything on around the bed area in the main bedroom....IE mobile phone, spectacles - that would be really useful.
There are some hanging hooks in the kids area but we used these for all our coats. The charging station is a great idea, but if it was onsite (ie where the cabins are, that would be much better). We didn’t have a SUV so struggled with the access road in and out every day.
The cabins are well placed for visiting the beach, which is small walk away. And we enjoyed sitting on the covered porch and chilling! You can have a camp fire in the outside stove supplied...and again there’s endless wood.

We would recommend Harvest Moon and have previously to many friends. This was our first time in beach cabins - we stayed in treehouses at Easter three times before. We love it here - staff are friendly and helpful, location by beach is perfect - really beautiful. Cabins have everything you need and are lovely. I scored one "good" for comfort" and everything else as excellent - only because our bed mattress was a bit springy. But that was the only slight negative - it really is a fabulous place to go - and perfect for a staycation in these times.

This was our second visit to Harvest Moon in as many years which is testament to what a wonderful holiday destination it is. The cabins are lovely and the location is perfect for a relaxing break.

We really enjoyed our time in our beach cabin and hope to return next year . My family loved the location and appreciated the site being safe for little children with cars staying in the car park. We would have liked a table outside ( there was one at the next cabin) as my daughter who was in a treehouse joined us each day with the children and we were fortunate to have good weather.
I found it a bit of a chore getting the stove going each morning to get hot water for a drink but our only real complaint was the VERY noisy intrusive grating sound of the rear doors to the toilet being opened and closed especially during the night. WD40 needed?

We had an excellent weekend. The beach being so close is fab and makes it really easy to spend the day there. Cupboard bed was fun for the children and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We loved our 4 night stay at Harvest Moon in on of the beach cabins. The beach was amazing, and so close, the outdoor space was fab for our kids to play in and we loved relaxing at night around the fire pit. The cabin was really unique, the beds were really comfy and it was spacious enough for 5 of us. It made a great base to explore the surrounding area and a great tonic after lockdown to be able to be surrounded by nature again. We would love to return again. Thanks Harvest Moon :)

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 teenagers and we loved our stay at Harvest Moon Holidays. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming, and the location, right next to the most enormous and empty beach, was wonderful. The cabins themselves were very comfortable and spacious and most importantly not on top of each other but generously spaced out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are only wish was that we couldn’t stay longer! We will be going back.

We really enjoyed our break in our Harvest Moon beach cabin. The kids loved the cabin bed, marshmallows at the campfire, making new friends on site and sledging down the sand dunes. Just wish we had booked to stay longer!

Had a fab time. I had to wash the dishes and cutlery in the cupboard and drawers as had food still on them and shower could have been cleaned better but nothing bad. Disappointed that the small animal farm was only the chickens . We were given food for the alpacas which was lovely but we had to climb few gates to get into the field wasnt the easiest and the horses kept them from approaching us and a lady who cares for horses started to tell us off for being there and feeding them she stopped once I explained that we were told we could but still made us feel awkward as though we were trespassing which upset my little boy we weren't happy with that. The honesty shop is great but wasnt re stocked which would have been helpful and it said they had barbecues but I could only see 3 which had been taken and there was no one to ask about paying the 10 deposit as stated coals all taken too. Perhaps a few more things for the children like the little tree house and a toy store at the beach cabins would be nice. A slide of some kind of wooden climbing frame , swings. I have reccomend already and would love to come back.

As have most people, we have had a very stressful few months managing work and home schooling. We needed a chance to reconnect as a family without all these strains. We have been to Harvest Moon before, so booked it again as an opportunity for our boy to have some freedom at last. We could not have made a better choice! Having stayed before in the tents I wasn't sure if we would like the cabins, but they are beautiful - a dream escape home! We spent long, fun filled days on the beach - bodyboarding, sledging down sand dunes, playing cricket and having picnics. My little one climbed sand dune mountains until he was so exhausted his legs hurt! We'd drag ourselves back to the cabins when worn out and then enjoy the long summer evenings with a campfire, toasting marshmallows and having swordfights and night-time walks on the beach. It was an idyllic week, and a perfect way to recharge mind and body for the months ahead. My little boy cried on the way home because he didn't want to leave and declared it the best holiday ever. Thank you for giving us the chance to just feel free and happy again - we will definitely be back!

This was our first time at Harvest Moon and we absolutely loved it. Beautiful location, peaceful, friendly staff, great for the kids as you can give them some independence and let them run around and yet still be able to see them. The beach is incredible, and a real gem. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

We are regulars with Harvestmoon and have stayed in the tents, treehouses and now beach cabins. The location is wonderful, just a minute from a deserted sandy beach with rock pools and sand dunes to play in. The accommodation is great - well laid out and everything to hand and the staff are friendly and make an effort to remember regulars. We always recommend this to friends and family and will be back (again) next year.
