What a fantastic way to grab a short break & re-charge our batteries. We found Shepherds retreat via word of mouth which in turn was word of mouth (is the retreat just a well kept and verbally shared secret)? My wife was a little concerned about spending 3 nights in a wooden hut on the Northumbrian coastline in October. Great place. So glad we found it, and we will definitely be returning. Such a lovely setting surrounded by fields, and great views of the sea and waves.

The Bothy is a delightful little cottage and is ideally situated to explore the area. Deceptively spacious, it is quiet, cosy and comfortable and we could not fault the amenities provided. The private back garden looks out onto open countryside and we enjoyed just sitting and looking at the sheep and wildlife. All booking information and instructions are easily accessible and completely stress free. A wonderful welcome awaited us and our dog and, although we never needed to contact the owners, we knew they would be there if we needed them. Just back from another week at the Cottage, Lodge & Bothy. It’s the ideal place for a family gathering, we had 15 adults, 4 kids and 4 dogs! Everyone had a great time, the cottages have everything you need and we always enjoy our time here. Weather was great for us and we even managed a swim in the sea everyday. Hope to return next year!
