Ardnave was an extremely comfortable and exceedingly well equipped holiday house. Spacious, warm and superbly comfortable beds. A great location in Port Charlotte gives us options to visit the pub and the local hotel. Communication prior to our stay was excellent and I would love to go back in the future. I would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends.

We keep returning to Port Charlotte year on year. The location is ideal and the holiday accommodation suits our needs to a T. Nothing has been overlooked. It’s a true home from home. This was our 3rd stay at this accommodation which is a recommendation in itself. It is very clean, well appointed and serviced. Nothing to fault. Alison, the caretaker is always available and does a superb job. We used it as a base for the excellent cycling on the quiet roads of Islay. Highly recommended.

My friends and I stayed at Ardnave for 3 nights for a 40th birthday reunion. There were 7 of us and the property was spacious and comfortable. Alison was lovely and friendly and the apartment was very clean. Would definitely recommend to others!

It was a very pleasant stay the property was ideal for our needs and in a perfect location. The only bad thing I have to say is one of the beds broke during our stay and when reported they did come out quickly to look but we were told it had happened before and to put books under the bed and that they had a bed on order so my son had to sleep on a bed propped up by books for the rest of our stay. I know it’s an island but as they new it had happened before it was disappointing that we had to put up with this. The stay was good but the bed situation let it down.

Clean, well appointed apartment with everything you need for your stay.

We were only there for a long weekend however Ardnave was absolutely ideal.

Great accommodation well appointed spaces with a great social living space, overall very comfortable and really well equipped. The accommodation is a just short walk from the beach and Port Charlotte is a lovely place to place to stay and a great place to be based for exploring the island.

The kitchen, and the living room area are very well equipped, the bathrooms are nice and clean, and the beds are very comfortable. It is located in a quiet part of a quiet town, the nearby restaurant offers delicious food. We have been in touch with the owner, and she has been very helpful.

Lots of space and well equipped. Radiators in the bathrooms were rusty which transferred on to the towels. Water pressure in the bathrooms wasn’t the best although fine in the kitchen.

We stayed in Ardnave, Port Charlotte Holidays for a family holiday over June 2021. The managers/owners have been extremely helpful during our booking process, as well as during our stay. Kitchen is well-equipped, beds are comfortable. The accommodation is very well located for exploring Islay and Port Charlotte itself is a lovely little village.

We had a fantastic stay at Ardnave. It happily fit 7 of us (grandparents, parents and three children). Lovely bedrooms and en suites, well-stocked kitchen, comfy sofas, very comfy beds. Garden was perfect for sipping gin, playing and hanging out wetsuits. A very pretty village, seafood restaurant, hotel beer garden overlooking the sandy beach just a very short walk from the accommodation. Spar, great play park, Community cafe. Excellent location and base for exploring Islay.

I enquired about Ardnave at short notice, not expecting it to be available but Margaret and Alison could not have been more accommodating and flexible in managing to squeeze us in! We were a group of 4 adults and 3 young children and the property was perfect for our needs. It’s cosy yet spacious and feels very homely. The garden space is a lovely bonus and we even managed a BBQ one night between the showers of rain. Port Charlotte is a quaint village and the Spar shop is an Aladdin’s cave! We absolutely loved being back on Islay and would highly recommend this accommodation.

Having previously stayed in Port Charlotte Holidays’ Saligo apartment, we thought we’d try Ardnave this year. Given the uncertainty of Scottish travel rules and COVID logistics, Margaret was extremely understanding and flexible with our booking.

As with Saligo, Ardnave is spacious and well-equipped for our family of six - four shower/ bathrooms very welcome! Port Charlotte itself is a good base for a holiday on Islay, having a small shop, a few different places to eat out and a safe beach.

We would definitely recommend Port Charlotte Holidays.

Ardnave is located in one of the best places to stay on Islay, Port Charlotte. It is a modern and exceptionally clean apartment but is also cosy and it has a good vibe to it. All the comforts of home are here with a lot of extras besides and they are all of good quality. The apartment is very spacious and although it sleeps up to 8 people it never seems full and there is always a quiet place to be had. I love all the en suite bathrooms and all the other rooms are beautifully presented and comfortable. We have been using Ardnave and it’s sister apartment, Saligo, for a lot of years now as we go over to Islay quite a lot and we would never stay anywhere else. We love it here. It is the perfect place to stay while on holiday and Port Charlotte is just beautiful, as is all of Islay.

We were 6 mature guys on Islay principally for a cycling holiday. Ideally, we would have liked 6 single rooms but not to be found on Islay. With 2 twin rooms, 2 doubles and three bathrooms each with a shower, it was the next best accommodation and Port Charlotte is an ideal location. Very clean and tidy. Very well appointed and equipped - even the cooking knives were sharp!! Some may find the double bedroom on the gallery which overlooks the downstairs living/kitchen area a bit "open" but it cannot be seen from below. We had an excellent stay and really have nothing adverse to say. Would recommend Ardnave and certainly rebook if we ever come back to Islay.
