The snow was unexpected but added to the character of surroundings. Cottage comfortable and warm. Location excellent for walking into Stow for hospitality. A privilege to bring our dog too although we made little use of garden.

We had a lovely time with our two spaniels, sharing the first half of the week with family as well. Comfy rooms and a great secure garden for the dogs and the toddler. A perfect base with a short walk into the interesting town centre and short drives to Birdland, Arboretum and Wildlife Park all of which were great with a toddler and allowed dogs on short leads in as well. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lilac Cottage. The facilities were fantastic and it felt very homely. The cottage could benefit from a deep clean (skirting boards, kick boards, high level) but otherwise it was perfectly acceptable.

We booked this cottage for a 4 day stay and loved it. The cottage is lovely, clean and has everything you need. We made a fire most nights, as it was starting to get chilly in the evening. We took some of our own logs from home but there was a starter basket, there is central heating, we just like the ambiance of a log fire. The location can't get any better, just a short stroll to the centre, with lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from. We had our dogs with us so asked for a stair gate to stop them from going up stairs, as they like to sneak up. The water pressure seemed a bit low so the shower wasn't very powerful but adequate enough. The only thing I would change is to remove the small bucket chairs and replace with another sofa. There was only 2 of us so it wasn't an issue but if there were 4 adults then those chairs would not be very comfortable to sit in for very long.
The area around is stunning and was great for walking with the dogs, because it's been raining quite a lot some of the walks were a bit on the muddy side, so good footwear is essential.

Arrived in absolute pouring rain so it was a chore to unload the car down the steep steps to the cottage. The inside was well furnished but the two armchairs were very uncomfortable, not suitable for sitting in for any length of time. Cottage had good facilities and was generally well kept, very clean. The garden could do with some attention as rose around the back door was encroaching on the doorway and a lot of it was dead. Similarly “flower beds” were just totally overgrown with weeds. Good location in Stow but be advised the Chinese and chip shop only seem to open four nights a week.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lilac Cottage. It is situated on the edge of the town but within easy walking distance to all the shops and eateries. The cottage itself is very well maintained and very homely making it perfect for a holiday cottage. The garden could do with a bit of a tidy up but that didn’t detract from the overall experience. Kevin the manager was also very helpful when I rang him. Would definitely recommend.

Lilac Cottage is an ideal place to relax, yet is only a short walk away from the centre of Stow on the Wold. The cottage is very compfortable and well maintained with very good facilities. The Patio area is an ideal spot to have a nice glass or two whilst relaxing.
There are some nice Pubs in Stow where to eat. The Porch House is just around the corner and we had our best meal here. Thery will also let you take your dog inside.
The Cotswold Cheese shop is a must.
The only down side in the cottage is the shower over the bath. This can be a bit awkward if you have any physical issues.

We had a wonderful first stay in Lilac Cottage. It was spotlessly clean & very well equipped with all we needed. We would like to say thank you for the goody pack on arrival. We enjoyed so much that before leaving Stow we tried to book it again for September but unfortunately it was all ready booked but we will definitely return soon.
