Perfect stay in Nepenthe, georgous house, warm and cosy. Lots of atmosphere with a perfect location exactly what we needed. StayCotswold were so helpful in every way and very easy to deal with everything went perfectly smoothly, we couldn't recommend them more highly.
On a light note .... following our request for good weather for our stay, they even provided that too. Thank you so much everyone.

Our family rented Nepenthe for a few days and loved it! It's quaint and charming. Don't expect a modern, spacious apartment; the owners have managed to keep much of the old character, while still providing comfortable amenities.

Location is great! The town is small, but large enough to offer restaurants and shops. The front door is just a 5 minute walk to the historic church and town center. There is street parking right at the front door, but finding an open spot can be a challenge. We had to walk a few blocks to park most days, but the walk was a pleasant one.

We left behind a set of Airpods, and the staff emailed us to tell us they found them, then mailed them to us in the U.S. Great service!

A very comfortable stay in the centre of Stow on the Wold in a very well equipped and clean cottage.
StayCotswold very helpful with advice on restaurants whilst visiting and came up trumps with a lost item.

Weekend away with friends. Chose the cottage because of its high spec and proximity to the town centre. It didn't disappoint. Truly cosy, a bit quirky ( it's a cottage) very clean and comfortable wet a well equipped kitchen. Location was excellent for the town and parking was fine. Great area to visit. Recommend.

The cottage is in a central position and v comfortable, well-equipped. We enjoyed our stay in Stow.
But on arrival an alarm was sounding. We located it under the sink. I telephoned StayCotswold and was told to ring the emergency no. It was only around 4.30 and the office could have dealt with it. That would have been good Customer Service. I telephoned Natasha, the emergency no twice no response, I telephoned her next day no response. StayCotswold never checked on the problem. Eventually my son stopped the sound. I still have not heard from StayCotswold. But what it had been a guy leak? .

The pre-arrival email does confirm that Natasha is the property manager and your point of contact for any emergencies or property related issues. StayCotswold do not manage or maintain this property which is why we were sadly unable to assist you further. Apologies we were not aware that you hadn't been able to get hold of Natasha. We will certainly pass on your feedback to the property manager and owner to make them aware. We do hope that overall you enjoyed your time exploring the Cotswolds!

We have stayed at Nepenthe on numerous occasions when the previous owner owed it. So we were very disappointed to see the same small tv still there in the same cabinet. Also even though there are new sofas they were very uncomfortable. We also thought the back garden could do with a freshen up or total refurbishment. These are the only things I could find that we didn’t like. The cottage is in a fabulous location walkable to the village and most other villages are a 20 minute drive. The log burner made the cottage so cosy on rainy days. We really enjoyed our stay if the three things are addressed I would say Nepenthe would be wow.

This was our 2nd stay in Stow and first stay at Nepenthe. The cottage was fine for a family of 4 (2 late teens) and a dog. Well supplied kitchen with a spacious sitting room. Bedrooms were fine for a weeks stay, nice sized wardrobe and en suite in the main bedroom with an extra en-suite in one of the other bedrooms and a nice sized bathroom for the 3rd bedroom.

Cottage is located perfectly for Stow town centre with pubs and restaurants literally 30seconds from the door. It’s on the main road into Stow but still peaceful and quiet in the evening. Parking is on street so have to get used to the car being away from the front door at times but there’s always spaces on the road or in the nearby car park.

Definitely recommend

Not the cheapest place to stay but certainly in a great position for touring around the Cotswolds.

Cottage was really good, plenty of room, lots of facilities and lovely bedrooms. Good water pressure in the showers and nice hot water, even took the opportunity to have a bath in the sort deep bath that's there.

Plenty of cooking utensils, plates, cookery and pots etc. Great cooker and a selection of frying pans for your bacon.

Slept excellently while we stayed there, amazingly it's really quiet even though it's on the main road.

Plenty to do within walking distance, lots of restaurants, pubs and take aways.

Overall I'm 100% happy to recommend this place to friends.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Nepenthe in Stow on the Wold. A perfect cottage. Pretty, unusually spacious, immaculately clean and comfortably equipped with everything you could need on holiday. Its central location in Stow meant we were surrounded by super places to eat. Most notably the Old Butcher’s which is fabulous. We were also within a very easy drive to many of the best Cotswold villages. Altogether a fantastic break.

We've recently returned from a 4 night break at Nepenthe Cottage in Stow-on-the-Wold. What a perfect location, right in the centre of Stow, just a few steps from the pubs, restaurants and shops. The cottage was perfectly equipped for our break. The lounge was so comfortable and cosy, as were the bedrooms. It was very handy having the 3 bathrooms too. The kitchen was well-equipped too. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed with an illuminated Christmas Tree... what a great touch, so festive.

The cottage is the perfect location for exploring not just Stow by foot, but also the wider Cotswolds area by car.

The nearby restaurants, cafes, tea-rooms and pubs were great... we had so much choice!

We look forward to staying at Nepenthe Cottage again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had a fantastic weekend staying at Nepenthe. The house was lovely, with everything that we needed to enjoy our time there. It's location was great, very central which meant we could easily explore Stow on the Wold with no need to use our car all the time. The facilities at the house were very good, the beds were very comfortable, bathrooms/ensuites were really nice, it has comfortable chairs and sofas and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The under floor heating in the well appointed kitchen was a real bonus.

Loved our weekend in this cottage. Great location - just a few steps and you can be in a pub, restaurant or quirky shop.
We’d very happily return but feel it’s really suited to 4 adults as although it sleeps 6 only 4 people can easily sit together in the lounge to chat or watch TV due to the furniture layout.
