The hayloft is in a great location and is a lovely property. We had plenty of space in the property to cook our own meals and relax in the evening and the parking space was useful. Dittisham is a lovely quiet little village with a nice local pub. Great location to get the boat to Greenway or the ferry to Dartmouth.
From the start of the booking process, to the moment we closed the door at the end of our holiday, everything was perfect. Very comfortable, extremely clean and well presented house, with everything you could ask for. Perfectly located with great views. Don’t just head straight to Dartmouth. Make sure you grab a pint and a meal at the Steam Packet and also the Ship. The little Italian wine bar is also fab, and brunch at the coffee shop is delicious
A lovely week in Hawke cottage as a family of 4 (children aged 12 and 10 years). The cottage is very nicely presented, cosy and modern. The kitchen is well equipped. Beds are comfy; bed in main bedroom is a double so on the smaller side, but this is in keeping with the cottage sized rooms. The garden is a great suntrap with lovely views. Great to use the pool and golf facilities at the hotel - the kids had a great time. Only negative is the WiFi was very slow - but this didn’t bother us too much. 5-10 minute drive to Dartmouth and local amenities, 10-15 mins to the beach. Would defi...more
We stayed here for a week with our family and can't recommend it highly enough. The house itself is stunning and finished to a very high standard. The rooftop terrace is lovely and the views from the entire apartment are wonderful. The location is also fantastic - a ten minute downhill walk into Brixham, and a slightly slower walk back up again! We will definitely be back. Thank you for a great stay.
Barberry Farm Cottage is absolutely wonderful. It has charm, luxury and is incredibly cosy. Perfect for our family gathering of 8 and everyone had a beautiful room and bathroom. The aga and woodturner are especially lovely as is the open plan kitchen and dining space. Situated in a stunning valley with just the sound of birds, a woodpecker and a brook and a delightful garden space. Really friendly and very helpful owners, thank you Georgia and Bob. I would highly recommend this property for anyone wishing to have a relaxing break, simply gorgeous.
The property is one road away from the river and situated a short walk from some great restaurants and pubs. It is above a shop accessed by a side door, once in there are steps up to the apartment and so you will need to be physically mobile.
Spotless and beautiful, everything you need,. Lovely views over the river and conveniently positioned for all the shops and attractions
Very central. Not sure we had to walk more than 100m to an array of fabulous restaurants. Stunning view from the top room. Narrow street with two pubs in sight, some noise but expected based on where it is. House was lovely, has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Booking and all instructions were really clear and simple. Definitely on the list for a return visit.
Pentre has the most fantastic view up the Dart valley. Whether on the patio, the balcony or in the sitting room, or even washing up at the sink, it is hard to drag your eyes away from it. The property itself is very well maintained, nicely furnished, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. The bedrooms are a little small, but the lounge/diner/kitchen is wonderfully roomy. Overall the property was much nicer than we had anticipated. The one drawback is that, being on a hill to provide those magnificent views, it's quite a climb up to the house. Not a property for those who are less able.
The house is really well equipped and comfortable. Lovely beds and bedding, nicely furnished and a great kitchen. The walk back from town is straightforward and not too strenuous. People with limited mobility might find outside steps and the steps between bedroom and bathroom difficult though. We were a little disappointed by the outside space which we knew to be small and narrow but it was very narrow and not very well looked after. Nice chairs and drop down table but the floor needed a good clean and the wall painting. I like to be able to sit and eat outside if it’s sunny but this wasn’...more
The house was as we expected it to be and in line with its description. The village and the region along the Dart River are quiet. The slight negative is access to the shower/toilet is mid-stairs and rather awkward but it is okay for most visitors. People with some physical disability should check first with the agent. The bedroom has a lovely view of the Dart River - nearly panoramic. The two local pubs are tranquil places ... food is okay. The ferry across to Dartmouth is fun and Dartmouth is a lovely town. Nice stay for a few days, pity the weather was poor but then it was all across E...more
Lovely house, in great condition with wonderful views. The second time we've visited, and had a great time again. Comfy beds and decent showers.
Location amazing. Clean and comfortable. Close to everything without the Dartmouth hills to climb. Attic apartment - so 36 internal steps up from ground level. This could be a problem for some. But worth it for the view out of the windows. Carpark tight even for our mid-size D-segment hire car. Although advertised as suitable for a large car. But we were able to squeeze in after off-loading passengers and numerous realignments. Some difficulty backing out as road shared with queue for lower ferry - and many drivers do not stay out of the clear zone across from garages. Highly reco...more
A beautifully presented, light and clean cottage in the perfect location. Could not be more central and parking permit was really helpful. It is on 3 floors with only minor hesitation for some with mobility issues may struggle on top flight of stairs to bedrooms. Very easy check in (after 4pm) and check out (by 10am) with key in key lock at the door. Thank you
This was our 2nd visit to Port Side after staying here in summer 2025. Our party of 5 had a lovely stay and made good use of the multiple balconies during the hot weather with the stunning river views. It was nice to see there had been improvements from the previous year with a new family shower room suite. Our only issue was that the door latch to the 2nd doors blew bedroom failed on the day we arrived leaving my mum trapped in the room. Fortunately we were able to get the door open but despite calling Dart Valley Cottages, no one came round to fix the door. The lock to the upstairs toil...more
Delightful, beautifully restored home with top quality fittings, furnishings and equipment. Wonderful views and very central location. Extraordinary patio garden and sunroom opposite. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this place. Has own small parking space directly outside. Very quiet narrow street. You need to be fit to stay here though as there are lots of stairs both up to the house and inside the house. And the TV could be better, it's Smart but only has NF and iPlayer (as well as a DVD player built in).
A charming cottage located in a quiet part of the village but with easy access to all the local facilities at the River Dart quay and with walks down to the Mill Creek seen from the rear garden. Dittisham village is extremely attractive. Curlew Cottage was fully equipped with everything that we needed and the most comfortable bed that we have probably ever slept in! We stayed during a heatwave and we fully appreciated the outdoor garden with furniture and parasol but at times the indoor option with the thick solid walls and stone floors provided an essential escape from the heat. The conservat...more
Everything about Middle Cottage is fantastic! The cottage has been renovated to a very high standard and has all the mod cons for a relaxing stay but has retained all the character of a 200 year old cottage. We loved sitting on the sumptuous leather sofa in front of the old fireplace and watching the sheep in the fields opposite and in the evening, settling down in the cozy snug. The cottage is very light and airy. We didn't need to touch the heating system as it was programmed to come on and just take the chill off in the mornings and evenings which was fine. The bathroom has underfloor heati...more
Great house in imaculate condition. Lots of steps up to the house and two stair case within the property but no stair gates so bought our own from Argos. But apart from that we had a lovely time and would defo recommend to anyone looking for an easy property for walking straight into town.
A well-equipped, clean and comfortable cottage. The parking was easy and all instructions in the guidelines were clear. As a dog owner, I was a little disappointed that dogs had to stay on the ground floor, as the sitting room, television etc are on the first floor. This was my only quibble. I recommend leaving the car and travelling by ferry whenever possible. Stress free, beautiful views and you get a real sense of the wonderful landscape. Take time to step out on a clear night, the stars are amazing! Would definitely recommend.
Lovely cottage and lovely view in gorgeous village . Great walks and activities near by and ferry to Dartmouth
This was our 2nd stay in Dittisham but our first time at Barnfield. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped but what really blew us away was the spectacular view from the patio window down to the river.
Great location, 5 minutes walk from town. Garage is tight but we managed ok & bonus to have a parking space in Dartmouth. Property was ready for us, clean, bedding & towels all fresh. We had a problem with hot water the first evening we were there & Dart Cottages were helpful & we were able to sort the heating out. However, there was a damp smell throughout the property, I did email & report this but I was told my email was not received? The house smelt as though it wasn’t used very often. Dart Cottage did respond to my messages once we had returned home & they assured me the house is n...more
Superb property in fantastic position. It would be perfect if there was a toilet on the lower ground floor
A spacious bungalow with plenty of parking. Useful having bus stop, accessed through the gate in the back garden and Spar shop a few minutes walk away. Positioned quite high above the town so walking to and from the town could be challenging but interesting alleyways and properties to see. A very comfortable and well equipped property but did find the bed rather firm. Good bathroom and separate toilet. Plenty of garden space.
An absolutely beautiful cottage in a lovely location. It is wonderfully presented and all was immaculately prepared. I would suggest that guests ensure they bring food with them for the first night. The (very nice) local pubs do meals but not on every evening so perhaps check before you arrive. Parking at the cottage is a little tight - the lanes are very narrow in the village but there is a very handy carpark just down the hill. Many thanks for a wonderful stay!
This was a last minute booking when we saw the fab weather forecast for Devon and we couldnt have chosen a better house. It was immaculate with everything we needed and stayed lovely and cool even in the heatwave! Comfy big bed, powerful shower, outside space for breakfast/evening g&ts and the permit for the car park a 5 min walk away was such a bonus. We had a couple of issues with the tv (please leave instructions on which remotes to use etc v frustrating) and a damaged parasol on the patio but these were dealt with v quickly. Dartmouth itself was a great place to stay and the surrounding ar...more
The description of the cottage was accurate and the joining instructions and information was comprehensive. The cottage was ideal for a quick weekend away.
We really enjoyed staying in this property. Loved the double aspect windows in the sitting room where we had views (albeit distant) of the harbour. The sitting room carpet was spotlessly clean and looked brand new. The kitchen was a little grubby, but with the limited time the cleaners have, adequate. Parking was a challenge, but my clever husband made a good job. He had to reverse down the very steep, narrow drive because cars in the properties opposite, were parked in the very narrow road.
We had a long weekend in June at Duck Cottage. The location is fabulous, on the edge of a creek that has a lot of bird life to see and hear and a quiet and relaxing spot on the terrace from which to view. The village is beautiful and quiet (Just what we wanted) but you're not too far from more lively towns such as Dartmouth and Totnes, as well as good beaches and beach/coastal walks being a 15-20 minute drive away. Both pubs in the village were very welcoming and had good outside space for sunny days. The Maltsters has an excellent menu and the food is beautifully cooked. The staff were ...more
Overall an excellent place to stay, but for us personally the bed was uncomfortable and the free standing bath was difficult to get in and out of due to its steep sides. The shower was unusable due to water dispersing on the floor despite the shower cutains being in place.Totaly un-practical for persons with joint mobility issues. A walk in shower would be much safer for all age ranges used on a regular basis. The bed although clean and spacious had a matress that was from our point of view too hard and the duvet too heavy. Having said that we had lovely and pleasant stay in this establish...more
We had the most wonderful trip to Dartmouth . The property met our expectations . It allowed us to enjoy family time together with a lot of space . The views are phenomenal from the property . The main balcony allowed us all to sit outside together and take in the jaw dropping river views . The location is so near the vibrant town that a car was not necessary at all . We could walk the coast path and take a dip in the cool river in one of the lovely coves . Thankyou for the memories that we’ve made and would i return to the property….. absolutely xx
Very nice cottage with a lovely garden - quite large for a terrace. The whole property is nicely decorated. The two top floor bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The front room is just about big enough and has a dining table for 4 people. The kitchen is compact but serviceable. The house is private and quite peaceful with good access to town. The property was not thoroughly clean when we arrived. The downstairs bedroom had used tissues beside the drawers, and the floor rug was dirty. The same room was quite small and only had a porthole for natural light. The ground floor had a musty smel...more
Having been to Dartmouth many times we were so pleased with the property, the location was excellent and so comfortable. Definitely stay there again
Crooks Cottage is absolutely gorgeous, very quaint, with a fantastic layout. As you walk into the cottage, you are welcomed by a lovely lounge and dining area that can comfortably accommodate 4 adults. The Smart TV is a nice bonus. The bathroom is well equipped, and the shower has excellent water pressure. Bedrooms very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Enjoying a coffee in the morning (ours was around 7:00 am) while taking in the peaceful views of the River Dart and watching the early morning swimmers from the garden is relaxing. Parking was easy at the...more
Loved Herons Reach. So spacious. Very comfortable. Just perfect for a lovely holiday. Would go back again
Overall, our stay at Rose Cottage was deeply disappointing and fell well short of our expectations. The issues we encountered had a significant impact on our enjoyment of the holiday, and despite assurances from the management company that guest feedback is acted upon, several of the problems we experienced appeared to be longstanding and remained unresolved during our stay. One of our main concerns was the standard of cleanliness on arrival. While the management company offered to address the issues after they were reported, we were expected to accept the cleaning company returning to th...more
We stayed at Orchard Cottage in Dittisham on 6th July for a week. Own designated car parking. The cottage is very comfortable and spacious. Decent sized kitchen. Has everything you need.Lovely large lounge with big TV. Bed comfortable. Slept well all week. Has a en suite shower and sink in main bedroom and a separate bathroom with shower and toilet. Also has a toilet downstairs. There’s private patio with furniture. There is a very large lovely communal garden/orchard. The cottage is situated very close to the church and some grassy areas with stunning views. Dittisham itself is beautiful. Ste...more
Thankyou for the last minute booking. Very much appreciated. A very nice place to stay if a little small
We had a brilliant stay with location perfect for access to Dartmouth and beyond via ferry but also Brixham side of river. House was well equipped, clean and perfect size with parking (and public EV charge point) just down road.
Rocket house is the perfect place to spend some time with friends and family. Plenty of space to relax and an amazing view.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shippon Cottage. We found it to be very clean and comfortable. The location is ideal for walking, with some stunning views of the estuary. The water taxi is great for a trip to Dartmouth or over to Greenways. We hope to return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Out to Sea and would love to return. Beautiful views over the estuary to Kingswear and very close to town and all the shops and amenities. Accessible by public transport via steam train and ferry from Paignton so no need for a car. Lovely walk to Sugary Cove, great beach for swimming. We enjoyed the games provided, particularly Articulate and cards. Well equipped kitchen. We ate on the terrace each day, lovely pastries at breakfast from the Cornish Bakery, delicious bread and deli items from both deli shops in Dartmouth (Smith Street Deli and the Deli a...more
The Nook is in a good position in Dittisham. It is a lovely cottage but only big enough for 2 adults and a child. The main bedroom is a good size. The bathroom is a bit tatty and tired and needs decorating. The garden is lovely in the evening in the sun.
We had a very enjoyable stay at 2 Dartview. The location was great, being close to all amenities but also quiet, and an easy walk to the castle. Parking was not an issue. The number on the front of the property is 38 Dartview, with 2 being one of the interior flats and this information would have helped us find it slightly sooner! We did not mind the bedrooms being dark and appreciated the helpful light in the corridor. The property was well equipped and the heating and wifi were both easy to use.
The location of the property was perfect. The apartment was decorated in a contemporary style with original artwork which was very attractive. There were however a few maintenance issues which have been forwarded on.
A lovely little cottage with stunning views over the River Dart. The garden is extensive and offers a lovely space when weather allows. No parking can be an issue although there is a public car park very close by. This is small and got full up...so provided an unwanted challenge at times. My daughter cut her foot on a piece of glass in the lounge so perhaps the cleaning operation needs reviewing. All in all the cottage presented good value for money. Ideal for 2/ 3 people on my opinion. Would be cosy with four adults.
The cottage is well situated in a beautiful village, with a short walk to the water side. There is a ferry across the river to Agatha Christie's holiday home, and easily accessible nature walks. The village is charming, and the local pub is nice. The house itself is great, well stocked for cooking (be sure to familiarise yourself with an AGA oven / stove top though!). One minor thing is that in the main bedroom, the water tank is set in the wall immediately behind the headboard, and has a consistent noise (a bit like water dripping and a small plastic piece knocking about), they should conside...more
I'm not a big fan of long essays in reviews,so here the bullet points: + Fantastic location, could hardly be better + Quite good layout of the flat + Comfy mattress, All very clean and neat + Well-stocked Coop just a few minutes walk away + Very good letting agency - No proper curtains in bedroom (from the drill holes it looks there were once ones) - Can be a bit noisy, especially in the evenings when people return from town - The tiniest shower one can imagine - The usual random and mismatched kitchen utensils, crockery and blunt knives you will find in almost any self-catering ...more
The location and the cottage in general were excellent. However on arrival we discovered that the internet was not working and that there was no phone signal inside the cottage. It was necessary to go to the garden to make a phone call. Also there were no instructions for the cooker which had a knob missing making it impossible to set the clock to allow the cooker to work properly. After numerous calls to Dart Valley cottages we gave up trying to resolve these problems as they did not seem to want to help. The cooking pans were also in need of a good clean.
Beautiful holiday home in a great location. Parking space much appreciated too. So much to do in this area at any time of year.
We stayed for 10 nights in this very pleasant accommodation. Well equipped throughout, nice table and chairs at the front overlooking the river. Bit of a climb up a slope and steps to get to the front door but nothing too onerous. The courtyard garden gets the evening sun but is a bit tired looking. The top floor has spectacular views over the river to Kingswear via Velux windows. The Floating Bridge Inn is good for food as is the Packet Boat Inn in Kingswear Would recommend a stay here
Primrose Cottage is warm & clean accommodation in a quiet location. A part time well provisioned shop is nearby. A short walk to the the shore of the River Dart where there is a playing field & a little further along is a pub & a cafe.
We had a wonderful stay at this charming holiday cottage in Dittisham. It’s full of character and surprisingly well equipped, especially considering its age — everything we needed was right at hand, and it felt like a real home-from-home. The location is absolutely incredible. Dittisham is such a special place, and the views from the cottage are genuinely lovely. Waking up and looking down over the River Dart was a highlight of our stay. A small note for anyone with mobility issues: the cottage sits in a steep, traditional part of the village. You can pull up outside to unload, which is ...more
A quaint cottage with good location and interesting Naval decoration Many problem areas of concern 1. We expected steep stairways but the use of a rope banister was unsafe and did not reach upper landing which presented balance problem. This cottage is not suitable for the elderly and or those with mobility issues. Also there was a risk that stepping outside second bedroom (landing very short) was that people would step on to top stair instead of landing. The stair treads are very short and loose carpet causes concern. The bedroom landing slopes towards the stairs and causes balance probl...more
Cottage was a bit smaller than the photos seem to show but perfectly fine for our week stay. Made full use of the tennis court, pool and pool table in the bar. Could have made location of bins clearer as had to ask reception as not visible from the front of the hotel. All the staff very helpful, especially the bar staff, drinks a bit pricey though. Minor moan, the sealing around the shower tray was grubby and could probably do with replacing with fresh mastic. Overall thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider returning
First of all, we want to say we did enjoy our stay at The Old Shop House. It was in a lovely little village which was close by to lots of things we wanted to do and had everything we were looking for in a property…character features, a sun filled garden, a comfy bed, and a well equipped kitchen. However, some maintenance issues absolutely should’ve been attended to before this property was let out. We arrived at the cottage to find it clad in scaffolding which was absolutely not communicated to us and caused alarm. Once we were through the door however, the cottage looked lovely and so we wer...more
The apartment is in a fantastic location in the center of Dartmouth. The outdoor parking area is very tight and not suitable for large vehicles; we managed to park because we had a small car. Inside, the house is spacious and well-laid out. The living area, with its river view, is stunning. The windows have all been replaced with excellent new ones. The kitchen was practical, too—though it lacked a few cooking accessories, we managed fine. I loved the stylish decor, and if I were to return to Dartmouth, I would book this same house. One downside was the cleanliness: while the beds were well-pr...more
