Situated on a farm in the beautiful village of Georgeham near Braunton in North Devon, March End lodges offer luxurious accommodation in a wonderful countryside setting.
A beautifully laid out interior is complimented by floor to ceiling windows that invite the pretty countryside views in giving the space a wonderfully calming atmosphere.
The master bedroom is furnished with a king size bed providing a relaxing retreat, with a spacious modern en-suite bathroom featuring a large bath and walk-in shower.
Central to the living space is a well-equipped open-plan kitchen ideal for whipping up a fabulous meal in; and with so much excellent local produce available in the area you may be tempted to create a few locally inspired dishes.
Outside you’ll discover a decked patio where a bubbling hot tub awaits. Positioned under the eaves it makes for the perfect place to laze the hours away whilst taking in the beauty of the landscape beyond.
Thistledown Lodge is pet-friendly so the four-legged members of the family get to enjoy a wonderful break too. Featuring an enclosed garden at the back of the home and just a short drive from some of the best local dog-walking beaches in Devon, this really is the idea pet-friendly home and one we're sure you'll want to return to!

This was our second time staying here and it didn’t disappoint, we had the most relaxing stay. The location is just beautiful we loved looking out and seeing the baby lambs and bunny rabbits in the morning. Very clean, presented beautifully and love the little touches with the bottle of Prosecco and milk in the fridge. Will definitely be staying again, great customer service from owners. We love it here, the most relaxing stay to switch off and relax from a busy life style.

We had a very good time the property was in excellent condition and the bed was so comfortable also where it is positioned is very quiet to be honest can’t really fault it the bathroom was probably the best we have seen for a long time only problem was the internet seems to come and go a bit but wasn’t a problem also it’s easy to get anywhere else the local pub as excellent food we had a Sunday roast which was really nice so overall we was very pleased thanks to everyone who helped with the booking

This is our second time staying and it was just as amazing as we remember it being 2 years ago. A perfect get away with out Labrador and so relaxing for us too. The hot tub is incredible with the views, location there’s some lovely local pubs and if you google there’s some beautiful beach walks. We came in January so it was abit cold but the under floor heating is a dream. All in all just amazing and we can’t wait to come back BUT book in advance… they fill up quickly!

We had a lovely relaxing break between Christmas and New Year.
Lodge was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed.
Been to a few Lodges with hot tubs and had a welcome pack on arrival including milk, bread, eggs, marmalade, and orange juice .
Only had milk and a bottle of prossco which was nice thank you.
Only other criticism I'd say was the 2 seater settee was too small. A recliner or slightly bigger settee would of been more comfortable at night whilst snuggling down on the evening watching the TV.
Overall great stay ,great location , great views and pubs and beaches and on your doorstep.
Would definitely return again.

A lovely, comfortable and very well equipped holiday home with the added bonus of a hot tub and lovely countryside views. The huge bed was extremely comfortable. A fully enclosed garden makes it very safe for dogs. There are two dog friendly pubs within walking distance and Croyde with more facilities and amenities is a 5 minute car ride away. All in all, a really pleasant stay.

The most beautiful lodge in a stunning location.
Every detail of the lodge has been well thought out, including treats for the dogs, processco in the fridge and gowns for the hot tub. the enclosed garden is perfect for dogs. There is nothing more I could of asked for. Would highly recommend but then again everybody will want to go :}

We have recently returned from our 3rd time at March End Lodges (Thistledown)- that should be testament to how much we enjoy and rate these lodges.
From the Bath Sheets and robes to the kitchen utensils - everything is high spec.
Then you have the lodge itself which is beautiful with the enclosed large garden and hot tub. Everything has been thought of - there is so much you can do on days out with the beaches etc but to be honest…… we go to get away from it all and mostly stay in with the calming views. (Husband will pop down the local village pubs for a pint or two - lol)
Excellent for your favourite family members too…….
We return every year as we rehomed a dog just over 3 years and she is reactive (not aggressive) with other dogs - such a loving girl but can be highly strung so going on days out is quite stressful. We can guarantee her exercise, sniffer training/playing in the garden without taking her out and know she will be exhausted at the end of the day and be safe in the enclosed garden.
Our girl loves it here just as much as we do.

Thank you again for a lovely stay in your beautiful lodge. We are quite sure we will be returning again next year.

Lovely setting, very peaceful and quiet and very responsive hosts. Lodge is lovely, good space, big bathroom. Also, although the lodges are dog friendly we didn't notice any dog smell which is always a good sign. Phone connection is not great but wifi is good, so we ended up doing mostly whatsapp calls where required. It does get hot inside the lodges when the sun shines, there is a very small fan provided but if coming in summer we would suggest bringing your own as you'll need a powerful one if you get a nice sunny day. An iron is provided. We would suggest bringing shower gel, aluminium foil, cooking oil and bin bags. Overall would stay again.

We could not fault our stay at Thistledown Lodge, March End.

A lovely quiet location, immaculately clean and well equipped, with a thoughtful welcome bottle of Prosecco and treats for the dog!

The bed was super comfy and we enjoyed using the hot tub and outside space. Which was secure for our dog so she could enjoy the garden too!

We also enjoyed the fact we could walk to two excellent local pubs for food and enjoyed a great walk to Putsborough on one of our days.

Highly recommend and we will be back.

Didn’t start well as the post code did not match the true location as the address was a mix of March Lodges and Braunton. So we were not in the best frame of mind. The lodge is great and as described in every way. Put it even nearer the coast and you’ve got 6 stars!
As for Luxury Coadtal as an an agent it gave wrong address and tells you it’s a 4pm check after you have paid deposit. Not great. If you can book it direct then bypass these people.

The Thistledown lodge is a lovely place to have a quiet break away from hustle and bustle. It is clean and comfortable and had a secluded hot tub on the decking at the back. You can walk to the village of Georgeham where there are two pubs if you want to eat out, although there are no pavements so you need to watch out for cars. You can also walk to Putsborough beach in about 40 minutes. It was a nice touch that we were given Prosecco and fresh milk on arrival. However there was no shower gel or shampoo or dishwasher tablets/liquid and I hadn’t packed any! Treats were provided for our dog which was also lovely. The cost was a bit steep for 3 nights but we had a nice time. Thank you

We are sorry to hear you were not provided with dishwasher tablets, the owners have advised they are located in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. Many of our properties do not now provided shampoo and shower gel in an effort to cut down on wastage so we would suggest bringing your own in the future. The Lodge was lovely, modern, warm (we went in February) and clean. It was great to get in the hot tub! The garden area was perfect for our 2 dogs.

The location was great, short drive to Woolacombe and the two local pubs served great food and catered for me who is coeliac.

We had a small issue with the shower, but this was being resolved on the Monday.

Definitely stay again, perfect for 2 people and their dogs

Had a fantastic time at thistledown from the moment we arrived til we left.
The lodge was clean and had everything you needed for your stay we enjoyed the hot tub and our dog loved the freedom of the fenced garden .
The location was fantastic too as we used the two local pubs less than a ten minute walk to both and also walked to puttsborough beach wich was only a 45 minute walk .
We had a fantastic time and definitely will return some day

Loved every minute of our stay in this lodge. The location is ideal to get to Putsborough, Croyde, Staunton and Woolacombe amongst others. The lodge was lovely and the enclosed garden did our dog was perfect. The hot tub was well maintained and the bed is the best I have ever slept in. All was perfect and we will definitely be back. We stayed early August 2023. The lodges are beautiful throughout from the lodge itself to the high end furnishings. The lodge contains everything you need for your getaway and are very clean throughout with a comfortable king bed, bath and shower. The kitchen is modern with an area for eating and sofa for relaxing in front of tv. The garden is large and secure for a pooch and has wonderful views overlooking fields while you relax in the hot tub provided. There are two pubs in walking distance. The Rock Inn was our fav serving great traditional pub food with lots of options. The beaches near by are beautiful. Great holiday!

We managed to bag this lovely cabin for the May half-term. The weather was stunning which helped a lot but the cabin really was a joy to be in. The bed was so comfy, the cabin had everything you needed and they even supplied milk and prosecco! We travelled with 2 miniature dachshunds who loved the garden and we loved not having to worry they would escape as it was totally secure! They even had their own welcome pack with towels, water bowls and a jar of treats. The whole cabin was surrounded by wild grasses and flowers, so pretty!
The hot tub was a lovely addition as well as the egg sofa. We didn't hear anyone come in to service the tub at all.
Although we had neighbours, we were not disturbed at all.
Brilliant base to travel around the beaches and sights of North and South Devon (Newton Abbott is about an hour away). I will say that getting to the cabin was 'interesting' if you are not used to small Devonshire roads or you have a big car... its a bit tight and twisty.
Broughton had fab takeaways and restaurants - Highly recommend Fish and Chips from Squires, Thai from The Siam Bistro (portions are per person so if you want a feast order double) and amazing firewood pizzas from Meraki Pizza Co. All have online ordering and sit-in if you want a night out.
All in all, it was a wonderful week and has set the bar even higher for our next pup holiday!

What a wonderful lodge for a relaxing getaway , a modern and spacious lodge with everything you could need , a great hot tub and private grass area for the doggy!
Located in Georgeham its ideal to explorer Croyde, Staunton Sands and Woolancombe and the surrounding areas. We will be back !

We absolutely loved staying here! Had everything you needed. The dog loved the garden. Beaches and other things to do close by. The recommendation list sent us was so helpful!
Hot tub was perfect! Loved watching the lambs running around in the field from the lodge/hot tub.

Lovely, clean and well presented lodge. Little attentions to detail give the feel of a 4/5* hotel suite.
Great location on a quiet farm with picturesque views over the fields watching spring lambs jump around.
Two excellent pubs within short walking distance and well located for Woolacombe and Croyde.
Happy to recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break experience.

Myself, my partner and my dog had a great stay here! It was lovely and clean when we arrived, in a great location and is very quiet perfect for what we wanted it for.
It is a great retreat to relax and chill out, great for pets as the garden is fenced off too! Modern lodges with great large beds which as so comfy, the hot tub is a great addition too.

We walked the the beach which took us around 2 hours however we did get lost! and there are great pubs in the town as well, The Georges Arms has the best lamb I have ever tasted.

The lodge is exactly as the pictures are advertised on the website. Can’t fault any of it and would highly recommend…we will definitely be back!!
Even down to the smallest details, spare dog bowls and blanket just incase you’ve forgotten yours. Also a jar of treats for the dog and lovely bottle of Prosecco also chilled in the fridge for us. Towels and dressing gowns also provide, overall home from home. Garden was big and well enclosed for the dog so she also had a nice time without us having to worry. The whole place was very clean and the hot tub was spotless!!
Pub within a five minute walk and very welcoming, would recommend booked a table for food in advance. Lovely nature trails if you enjoy your walks. Plenty things to do within a short driving distance. We will definitely be back!!

Real gem, we loved our 4 day break here. Beautiful lodge, immaculate and well equipped and we particularly loved the hot tub. The dogs enjoyed the garden and the walks on Woolacombe and Saunton Sands beaches.
Highly recommended and we will definitely return.

We were blown away with the lodge. Everything was high end and the hosts had thought of everything. Hot tub was very private and overlooking the fields where the sun goes down. Had great weather for January and would definitely recommend. We hope to return.
