We had a wonderful week at Fingals celebrating special birthdays with a large family group and 2 dogs. We stayed in the Barn and neighbouring Wisteria Suite which meant we could all be together very easily. The Barn is very comfortable- the large living/kitchen/dining room is perfect for all being together. We made good use of the pool, sauna and games room, which we had completely to ourselves as there were no other guests staying. We has a lovely week with the family and had both "The Barn" as well as Wisteria which worked really well for us as they are on the same balcony. The pool and sauna was great with changing rooms and showers. We were lucky that nobody else was staying so had the run of the place to ourselves. Richard and Sheila were lovely hosts available if we need them but not intrusive. The apartment had the advantages of being really well equipped and so warm that we never has to have the heating on. We absolutely loved staying in The Folly at Fingals, it was a perfect break for half term. It was so peaceful, with the water gurgling underneath The Folly and the lovely view of the garden. Richard and Sheila are consummate hosts, and we felt very at home. Fingals has lots of quirky charm and we loved the atmosphere and details. The sauna and swimming pool were great and we loved the nearby pubs.
Perfect large house for a family holiday of generations with large bedrooms and superior en suites. With lawn tennis and a pool and lovely weather this proved to be quite a celebration. Plenty of pubs and activities close by too which kept all the family aged 4 to 70 years entertained. A wonderful garden with many places to sit and read or chat and enough rooms for Tv viewing board games and fine dining.
Barberry Brook was warm and peaceful. The bath is quite difficult to access but the bed was comfortable and there is a lovely stream running outside. The location is beautiful so can recommend this for a peaceful stay in a lovely part of Devon.
I have stayed several times in this comfortable charming property as have the rest of my family. It is a lovely location with unspoilt countryside all around and the whole Fingal’s property is set in a garden of lawn and flowers
