Ben Macdui is a comfortable lodge for up to 6 people in three bedrooms. A huge plus in this lodge is the wood burning stove which warms the whole place and makes it cosy even on the coldest winter days!

Ben Macdui is disability-friendly, with a ramped entrance, wide doorways and a bathroom fitted to building control disability standards.

The beautiful open plan kitchen/living/dining room has patio doors opening onto a covered deck.

Really nice stay very relaxing easy to get to towns we wanted visit. I bet it is lovely in summer sat on porch. The shop handy at the garage as well. Log was good as well no need to be cold. All in all very nice place would liked to stop longer

A lovely lodge with everything you need for a home from home break. The lodge was lovely and clean. The beds were very comfy and the wood burner was a nice touch, especially when it was cold in October. A nice area for kids to play in. My wee boy appreciated the goals to play football with. A nice base for Banchory and the surrounding area.
Need to take the car to travel to shops but a lovely, quiet area to get away from everything. Thank you!

Lodge is a little tired and showing its age. Mattresses have seen better days. Car parking a little small, particularly if people are in the other lodge

Overall our stay at Ben Macdui was good. The lodge was well equipped for kitchen needs, it has plenty of storage in the bedrooms and the log burner is a cosy addition for colder evenings.
We used it as a base from which to explore Aberdeenshire and Kincardineshire. It was quiet and the welcome pack was a lovely addition. We had a small issue with broadband which the owners resolved promptly. The owners were friendly and helpful.

There were a few areas for improvement. Primarily the car parking, it was very small when there were other cars there. I imagine there is space for 3 cars but only when sensibly parked. The shower in the main bathroom looks like it's been part renewed, but needs a new holder to go with the new head as when turned on it falls off it's holder.

Our family of 5 had the perfect stay, we were had a long drive up and was welcomed with a lovely little hamper. The rooms were ideal and spacious enough. Especially with 3 teenagers. The bathroom could have had locks that worked, just to save. Don’t come in the bathroom every 5 minutes from the kids! Ha. We spent most our days out about exploring with friends but the lodge was more than adequate to entertain friends. Whilst the children played outside, we sat on the large deck area eating enjoying food together. I found their website to be really helpful and referred to the list of things to do - highly recommend working your way through their suggestions. We also used Banchory Cycles to hire bikes out for our son’s 15th birthday. Only £25.00 for the day. They had the best time exploring the area.
Will definitely be returning and have already recommended to friends. We loved it - just wish we had booked for longer.

The cabin was very comfortable and in excellent location.
It had all the necessary equipment . A washing machine would be helpful as the weather is so changeable.
A delightful stay .
The WiFi was unpredictable but on the walks we could get good signal to book our days out .

Beautiful location, I’m a wheelchair user so the lodge was a bit difficult for me but perfect for my husband and adult children. With a few tweaks it would be perfect for wheelchairs users too. The owner couldn’t have been nicer too.

Ideal cabins for a getaway with nothing but beautiful Scottish scenery on your doorstep. Perfect if you are attending a wedding locally and have a large group of you or looking for a nice family retreat . The hosts Ursula and Adrian are extremely helpful, flexible and accommodating. They very much leave you to enjoy your time but are readily available should any problems occur. Which thankfully during our stay nothing occured. The welcome goodie basket was a nice little unexpected surprise. Should I happen to be in the area again I would happily stay, and would happily recommend any else to do so

Had a fantastic stay at Ben Macdui. We were staying over prior to a wedding. A party of 4 adults and 2 small childern 6 and 18 months.

The accomidaiton was clean and tidy and very safe for the kids.

The children play area was fantastic and the kids really enjoyed playing in the garden

Ben Macdui was an excellent base for our shirt trip to the Banchory area.
The lodge is clean and well equipped and is in a very quiet location.
The owners were excellent, sorting a small problem with the WiFi with no fuss and could not have done more to make us feel welcome.

We had an excellent few days in snowy Banchory. The chalet was fantastic as it was so warm and comfortable with the wintry conditions outside. Looking at the weather forecast we knew we would struggle to get there on the appointed day. Thankfully the hosts were flexible and allowed us to take the property a day early and that saved the stay. We had a good trip up with no issues but the snow had closed the roads on the following day.

The chalet is well equipped and we certainly enjoyed the wood burner. Some nice restaurants nearby and we found a local charger for the EV so all was good. We had an issue with the TV but Adrian went above and beyond to get it going again.

I would recommend a stay at this property.

We had a lovely weeks stay at Ben Macdui lodge. My sister had the neighbouring lodge so we had the whole place all to ourselves. The lodges are a nice size and easily accommodate 6 guests. They were exceptionally clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The outside decking area is excellent for sitting out and also for BBQ's. The kids loved playing football and tennis on the large grassy area. The lodge is set off a country road and there is no gate at the entrance so care needed with younger kids or dogs.
There are plenty of things to do in the area. Banchory is only a 5 minute drive away with nice shops and cafe's. We also enjoyed Go Ape, Balmoral and a trip to Stonehaven. There is a good variety of restaurants nearby too.

What a fantastic find!! We stayed in Ben MacDui for a week and had one of the best holidays we have had in a very long time. Our two year old had a ball with all space for in around out the front of the lodges and at the swing/slide/climbing frame.
The lodge was beautiful, comfortable and very well appointed with everything you could need. The log fire was wonderful and came in handy as the weather cooled towards the end of our week. Really cannot fault the place or the hosts, who went out of their way to recommend lots for us to see and do during our trip. The location was ideal, 6 minute drive into Banchory and very handy base for day trips, yet secluded enough for the feeling of a woodland escape.

We will be back for another escape soon!
