The yurt was very comfortable, with a large bed. However the futons for the children weren't particularly comfy for them. The two yurts are situation in a very quiet area, there is a barn for weddings up the road but the music didn't disturb our stay. The toilets and showers are communal, which wasn't an issue for us as we were the only ones there. I would recommend staying in Hattie over Olive, due to the path layout - Hattie is tucked away in the corner but Olive will have foot traffic of only a few meters away from the yurt from the other visitors using the communal toilet or kitchen. ...more
What an idyllic location for a real taste of country living. Beautiful view, sunsets and rises. Baa-ing of sheep, bird song. Excellent walks and history. Small but perfectly arranged hut with comfy bed and sufficient seating for two both in and out. En-suite toilet and shower. Prompt responses from James to requests for more wood for the fire pit. Would use again.
Delightful visit to a delightful property

The Shepherd's hut was fab. Really comfy bed and had everything we needed for a great weekend stay. It was a great location and had fantastic views and sunsets. The whole estate was a fabulous venue for a wedding.
On arrival at Godwick, very impressed with the beautiful location of the quaint Shepherds Huts in a row. Parking more than adequate, first impression was excellent.
Double bed was very comfortable, although quite high due to storage underneath. We are used to a king size so a little challenging! Facilities in the Shepherds Hut were excellent, with basic provisions in fridge and cupboards.
However, if staying during a period of wet weather, the hut would benefit from more comfortable indoor chairs as you would not be able to sit outside.
Although we didn't meet with James, the owner,...more
