We all had a terrific time at Muckrach house as it is such a wonderful place. Decoration is fantastic, facilities outstanding and the beds were super comfortable. There were 6 children with us and they didn’t want to leave. All in all, we thoroughly the house.
What a fabulous house. This is our third time staying in a great north lodges property and they have all been lovely but this is my favourite yet. The house and the surroundings are stunning. We will definitely return.
Upon arrival, Coorie Lodge appears to be a normal and not overly large property. That is until you enter the property and wow you are greeted with lovely views from the dining room, which in turn is eclipsed by the lounge. A lovely light and airy property with walks from the front door. We were extremely comfortable for our weeks stay and blessed with great weather. Coorie Lodge is a lovely holiday home and we highly recommend the property. Our stay was made that extra bit special by the meals supplied by Speyside Kitchen. Thank you GNL for another great property.
Second time at the property and enjoyed it just as much. Great position for walks around Nethy which is perfect for us and our dog. Walking the local forest trails is magical at any time of day of weather. The property has everything you need with bedrooms and bathrooms feeling very luxurious. Lounge is snug but cozy with the wood burner, smart TV and soundbar. Only negative is the size of the eating area. No tan room for now than two. So either eating on laps or eating out. Not an issue for us but bear in mind if booking for two or three couples.
This was our second stay at Glenmore Lodge. It is a lovely property and furnished to a luxurious level. It has everything that you would require for your holiday. On entry the Lodge was spotless and wonderfully clean. The icing on the cake was the provision of an illuminated and decorated Christmas tree which added an extra sparkle. We must thank the staff that clean and care for Glenmore Lodge for the extraordinary job they do.
Writing to say thank you. We had 15 adults and 16 kids (ages 3 to 10) and found Gulabin Lodge an excellent experience to have such a gathering. The house and grounds provide ample space for games for the children. The kitchen was well stocked. The firepit was a hit and captivated everyone. We were in easy reach of local walks. Nothing was a problem for Helen and Tim and they created a relaxed atmosphere for us to have a wonderful weekend.
Wow, what a place to stay! The house was very spacious and fitted our party of 6 adults with ease, making it a home away from home. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed and its size allowed us to cater for everyone, including allergies without a worry. The front room is cosy and lighting the fire just added more warmth to an already relaxing area. A beautiful lodge in a wonderful location. Surrounded by woodland and nature but within walking distance to Aviemore.
We stayed at the Speysuide Suite for a long weekend - the cottage is beautifully furnished and very well equipped. Great views from the lounge windows and convenient for touring the area. I will say though that the bed is defintely not a super king size - it is very short - but other than that it is excellent.
Excellent location and gorgeous cottage. Family and dog had a great week away and plenty of walks nearby without having to use the car. Overall property was fantastic and had everything we needed. General cleanliness could have been better, likewise some of the worn down furnishings. Never the less a great place to go for a cosy week away in the highlandals. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic place everyone was impressed with the place easy to find, a short walk into town but we took taxis definitely going back in the future

Beautiful cottage in a fantastic location for walking, cycling and going a bit further by car. The kitchen had everything you would need for a self catering stay. Kids loved the hot tub & games room! We had gorgeous weather too so enjoyed Go-Karting, Zip Wires @ G2, climbing Cairn Gorm (we came down on the Funicular railway) and a great day @ Landmark Adventure Park which is also dog friendly. Only issues i can think of are - we brought a dog crate with us to find there was one already supplied & the bike store already had bikes in it which meant we had to keep ours in the house
The lodge is perfect for a large group, the rooms and common areas are big enough to accommodate everyone. There were no complaints from any of the group about the beds or bedrooms. Previous reviews mentioned problems with the hot water but it wasn’t something we experienced. There was some noise from the nearby bar but it wasn’t excessive nor did it keep anyone awake. The service provided by Great Northern Lodges was excellent, they were really helpful at every stage of the booking, promptly answering emails or phone calls. The house has a great location overlooking the valley and however it is close to the main road there is no noise inside the house or bedrooms. Close to a lot of sight seeing activities, the steam train can even be seen passing by! A lot of luxury with the hot tub, dishwasher, washing machine and fire place. Lots of games and we even played some games on the Wii. Enough glasses, plates and cutlery and towels for the whole family. Staying there was a splendid experience and our kids want to go back asap :)
From the minute we walked through the door, we knew that Forest Trail Lodge was a special place. The layout of the house is perfect with access into the forest from the gate in the garden. Beds very comfy and the house has everything you could want for a week's holiday. We were blessed with beautiful weather all week and had a fantastic time. We’ve stayed in many properties with GNL and have never had any issues, and their communication has always been great. Pine Ridge Lodge is an amazing home and my family and I loved it here. Location is fantastic, house very roomy and comfortable and the garden is perfect for our wee dog. Already booked again for next year!
We are repeat visitors to Suidhe Garden Cottage. A great location, easy to get to. Plenty to do in the area. It is a very comfortable, spacious, yet cosy cottage. It is well equipped. Radiators and heated clothes airer great for drying wet gear and washing. Love the log burner. The hot tub used every night, come wind, rain and snow. The recent upgrades have added to the quality. We will be back! And then there's the Suie Bar............
The Neuk really is a wonderful place to stay. We spent our Christmas here and were not disappointed. The rooms were spacious and aesthetically pleasing. The bath in the master room was a lovely touch . The games/tv room was a hit with elderly kids when they wanted their own downtime. Soaking in the hot tub on Christmas morning before the madness of preparing Christmas dinner for 10 was a dream come true! We were a family grouping of 7 adults and all found the house very comfortable. It is in a perfect location. The highlights are the kitchen and hot tub. The outside area was the best set up we have seen. Would be very happy to return.
Just got back from a week with the family. Beautiful house and in a perfect location. At the back of the house is woodland and you can walk through the woods in to the centre of Aviemore. The house is a solid build and was ample for our family and two dogs. Lots to explore nearby and the town provides all the amenities you could need. The single beds could do with an upgrade as they are incredibly squeaky and a welcome pack would have been nice. However they are small negatives. We would love to visit it again.
The accommodation was in a great location. Looks nice but the beds were cheap and uncomfortable. Everything else was great. Could benefit from having a draining board as there is no where to put ur dishes. We had a lovely time. Thank you
My husband and I and our dog stayed at Station Cottage for a week in January and we found the house to be very comfortable and warm during our stay. There was everything we needed and was very clean. There are so so many lovely walks straight from the house, the Speyside Way and there is a nature reserve nearby. There's a really nice deli and farm shop next door . The local hotel was very welcoming serving bar meals and Grantown on Spey is only a short drive away for more choice of eating places.
Aviemore itself is a beautiful place and the location of the lodge helps get to any trails, hike routes and other breathtaking natural sites with ease. There's plenty of space in the lodge, it's got great heating which is accessed by a single thermostat right at the entrance. The hot tub was amazing and has been used on an almost daily basis. The kitchen was very well equiped, had great cooking facilities, easy to use hob and oven and generally had lots of storage space. Wonderful location for a surprisingly spacious and beautiful cottage full of charm and ideal for our extended family and dog.
We loved staying at rivercroft. The house has everything you need, the stove kept us extra cosy. The garden is a great size and secure for dogs. We found a couple of walks from the house. We would definitely stay again.
The house was ideal for our needs, a family gathering with our dogs and young children. The bedrooms and social spaces inside and outside were excellent. We all agreed we would come back in the future - thanks.
Our families had a magical time at Badengorm. The location is stunning and our grandchildren had freedom to explore and play by the burn and also space within the lodge to do their own thing. The games room is a bonus...the snooker table was well used by the adults. However as other reviewers have mentioned space is limited in the kitchen area and we found a blackened pan on arrival. We loved Badengorm but the sofas were not comfy!!! As a family of 10...everyone asked me to mention the seating. We only used them of an evening as there is so much to see and do in this superb setting...however....more
We were a group of friends getting together to celebrate a big birthday. The place was amazing. It felt like there were rooms everywhere. It was a perfect size for our group. It was well equipped for entertaining and plenty of chairs and space for everyone. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly come back.
100% recommend this lodge. So lovely and the Christmas tree and decs were a bonus, stayed 13th Dec for 4 nights. Would love to return. The only disappointment was no snow this time!
Booked with GNL before and service is great. Houses are all of a relative standard and provide everything you need for a great stay. I’m probably being a wee bit harsh on this one but felt it was a bit tired overall, decor etc needs attention but as I say that’s just an opinion. The kitchen was a bit worn and the plates and bowls have seen way too many visits to the dishwasher. The location was nice if a bit out of the centre but, we chose that so if that’s what you are looking for then it’s recommendable. Had another amazing week is this lovely cottage. So well equipped , cosy and the location is fabulous. The host was brilliant and left some lovely treats and loads of logs to keep us warm and toasty . The hot tub was brilliant . Will definitely return for a 3rd visit . Thank you
We had a great week at FPL. Weather wasn’t the kindest but that’s what water proofs are for. House was always warm and welcoming to return to. The house is up a small lane so not much traffic goes past. Great walks from the front door in the forest at the end of the track. Grantown-On-Spey only a few minutes up the road for takeaways and supplies. A few minor running issues that need to be addressed ie Yale lock didn’t work, had to discard 2 oven trays as they were rusty and flaking, no grill tray but these are small problems. The Cabin was ever so sweet, all decorated for Santa coming, very comfortable, clean and cosy. We did enjoy our stay. We did have a problem on Xmas eve when the remote control for fire would not work, my daughters went out and purchased a battery and all was good ... then on boxing day evening we tired to turn fire down and the remote would not work again! we could not understand why this happened as we had only just replaced battery... not knowing what to do we tired to call housekeeping and maintenance ... we could not get an answer... we tired batteries that were in the drawer , eventu...more
Myself and the family had a wonderful time spending Christmas at the lodge, spacious place for 10 people and decent kitchen facilities to cater for a festive feast. The host was easy to contact and readily available to help. There were a few functional issues with the hot tub and showers but these were rectified immediately. Lovely location with skiing, beautiful scenery and local towns nearby. Was a christmas to remember
We had a great stay at the Wolf Lodge, place was clean and location is brilliant. The kids loved the hot tub and we were very comfortable. You can tell when built Wolf Lodge was very very nice, but we felt it looked a bit like it needed some TLC. Only a few issues really, we didn't have enough soace to all eat together on the table, and the kids couldn't explore the woods directly opposite due to the INSANE amount of dog poo. Which wasn't nice to see. We would come again though!
Overall cleanliness fairly poor. Issue with shower in main toilet, taps loose and difficult to operate as a result. Several lights inoperable. Small sofa inviting area needs replaced, very uncomfortable. Hot tub, supply of logs, size of kitchen and location all positive however.
