We stayed here for four nights while moving house. Middle Lodge was perfect for our dog. The large, enclosed garden was excellent & led to secure parking which was helpful. We enjoyed our twice daily walks in the extensive grounds - there was always something new to explore. The off lead field was a bonus. Thoughtful touches such as poo bags around the estate & dog treats in Middle Lodge were appreciated. Would absolutely recommend Middle Lodge to dog owners.

We were able to secure an early check in which was helpful. Middle Lodge was comfortable & well equipped. We found all staff to be friendly and helpful.

Netherby Hall was the perfect setting to our trip and middle lodge was beyond our wildest dreams. We were welcomed so kindly by Anna and Suzanne and it really did feel like the staff put their heart and soul into ensuring we had the most amazing time, with the effort, thoughtfulness and professionalism that must have gone into preparing the lodge for us with the sweetest personal touches. The lodge instantly felt like home from home with everything in the lodge that you could possibly dream of. The grounds were amazing and the attention to detail in every aspect of Netherby Hall and Middle Lodge really did amaze us.
Will are already looking forward to another stay.

Had a relaxing break in Middle Lodge. Very clean and enjoyed relaxing by the log fire.

The weather was cold but dry and we spent time in the walled garden. It was too cold for the hot tub as it took over 6 hrs to be just warm enough, instructions would have been beneficial. (We asked but they couldn’t be found).

We recently had the pleasure of staying again at the Middle Lodge on the Netherby estate and we couldn’t be more happy to have chosen it for our Christmas getaway.

We even had a surprise Christmas tree!

The lodge truly does feel like a home away from home. It has all the warmth and coziness you’d want for a relaxing retreat, with thoughtful touches like fresh milk in the fridge for you first cuppa, to a small welcoming card and some local chocolates.

We particularly love how secluded and exclusive it is — a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Middle Lodge is a hidden gem, and we can’t wait to return for Christmas 2025. We highly recommended Netherby Hall for anyone looking for a peaceful, clean, and very comfortable stay.

Three nights in this beautiful property , spotlessly clean and very well equipped kitchen . Thoughtful extras which made life so much easier . Well secured fencing for dogs . The road is fast and noisy if you aren’t used to road noise is the only downside . The estate is beautiful and the walled gardens a delight . Would Defintely return to stay if in this part of the world . Very helpful friendly staff on the estate . All in all a great stay highly recommended .

We visited middle lodge to celebrate my birthday. Everything was provided, kitchen equipment, logs for the fire and hot tub, firelighters, matches: absolutely nothing you could want was missing. The place was spotless with very high end finishes. It was comfortable, warm and cosy. Excellent quality fittings, bed linen, towels, bath robes.The delicious Netherby gin and tonic, chocolates and mugs left for us as a birthday gift was very much appreciated. One small thing, the front door lock is very stiff to open. The best cottage I have ever stayed in.

Property was lovely and the staff were there for your every need - some of the most helpful staff we have come across over the years.
The grounds were lovely and great for dog owners - one note a car will be required if you want to go further a field. Other than that we have a lovely stay my daughter in particular loved the hot tub it was fantastic.

I reported the heat in the kitchen area - we had to leave the windows open for our dogs.

A choice of pillows would be great - the ones we had were quite hard

We had some Canadian friends staying with us as they were travelling up for the Scottish Open, so we stayed a few nights before they headed off. All of the staff go out of their way to make it a great experience for you.
Middle lodge is comfortable for 4 but galley kitchen is a bit snug. Our bedroom was onto the road which we found noisy, but otherwise a very pleasant stay. Food at the Pentonbridge was excellent & the personal transport to & from the restaurant with Jeff (sorry if wrong spelling) was a lovely touch. We briefly met Margo (the owner) and even though she was busy, she took the time to chat. Overall we had a great few days and would recommend.
