Everything about the cottage was perfect for us. Beautiful location, clean, comfortable. We could see the sunrise over the sea from bed! There is en-suite shower room not pictured in the description and so that was a nice surprise. The parking space allocated for the cottage was possible but a little tight for our large estate car, so we chose to pay for a week’s parking in the public car park, a slightly smaller car would be fine. Portscatho is a lovely base from which to explore the peninsula too.

April cottage was an absolutely fabulous place to stay. There was me, my 4 children (2 in travel cots), my sister, her partner, dog and 2 cats. There was ample space for us all and we never felt like we were in each others way. It was so great to have so many things provided (like tea towels, bin bags, all the essentials). Great instructions on how to get there. The price for our weeks holiday in August was amazing. The pictures on the website are accurate. This is a lovely apartment in a perfect location . Heating and hot water are important especially at this time of year, and they were excellent . Well equipped, very comfortable. The sun lounge area with sea views was lovely. The owners were really nice, and available if needed. We saw dolphins from the lounge, did lots of walking, used the ferry, ate out at the local pub, and generally had an excellent time. The narrow roads in St Mawes needed to be driven with caution, but this is a delightful cornish village. We would definitely recommend.
My husband and I had the most magical stay with our two dogs at the Crugsillick Studio. It was extremely comfortable and clean, and we were very grateful for a totally secure and enclosed garden area for our dogs. We walked to the beach almost every day through beautiful woodland and couldn’t believe how few other people we encountered. The beach was stunning, as were the other local beaches we explored. We also found several dog-friendly pubs and restaurants with delicious food. We will definitely be back as we had a fantastic time and there is lots more we want to see.
The house was beautifully presented, clean and tidy, with everything we needed for a home-from-home stay - and the homemade biscuits were delicious! The large enclosed garden made it ideal for our dogs, which is always a bonus. The location was perfect for us, having plenty of parking and being quiet and peaceful but not isolated. It’s 5 minutes walk down the hill into St Mawes, for easy access to all amenities and walks/ferries from there. This is the fourth time we (me, my daughter and nine year old grandson) have had the pleasure of holidaying in this delightful cottage. It’s our home from home and we cannot imagine going anywhere else, truly. We love the location, the cosy feel of the cottage, and our wonderful hosts. Annie is so welcoming and will ensure you have everything you need. We just love this two bed upside down living because we can see the fields and woodlands beyond. It’s also short walk from the quaint old Melinsey Mill. One word to sum up: fabulous.
We had a wonderful stay at Tantallon. The house is so bright, spacious and welcoming, and the annexe is an added bonus which worked perfectly for our son and his girlfriend. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed, including a large oven and hob which our son (chef for the week!) particularly enjoyed using. Communication with the owners was swift and pleasant and they could not have been more helpful. The absolute best part of this property is the outside space with a view to die for. No1 is compact but fully equipped suitable for 2 guests. It's only a few minutes walk down to the harbour front,cafes and shops. It would benefit from a dining table. The owner was very quick to respond when we had a query. I would recommend it for a short stay.
Lovely, well equipped place and I like a supportive bed but honestly, it was like sleeping on concrete. For that reason I would not return and could not recommend it. It just needs a 2" mattress topper.
This is the 2nd time we have have stayed at Driftwood albeit it several years apart. The location is great - just a minutes walk to the beach but it is beginning to feel a bit tired. The flooring could do with updating - carpets maybe need new underlay and the lounge flooring is showing a fair bit of wear. One thing that was a real pain was the bathroom Velux window has no privacy glass - it wouldn't take much effort to add some privacy film - I ended up taping together some news paper to put on it. We were greeted most days by 2 little dogs aggressively barking at us at us every time we returned to the apartment as we came up the steps. The owners had no control over them. They also barked at everything that moved & went past the apartment! Also we have never stayed in a holiday let that had carpet in the kitchen as well as the 2 bathrooms. That is very un hygienic especially when you think about spills & leakages etc...Do you vax wash after every holiday maker has stayed ? Apart from that all good !
The parking is diabolical with no guarantee of a space outside the cottage. The path outside needs renovating as it is dangerous and the table and chairs need updating. The stairs are very steep, especially difficult to use with a heavy suitcase. The lighting is not very good for reading. Apart from that it was a delightful cottage right by the harbour and the weather was kind so we could enjoy touring the area.
