Luss Cottage is one of three cottages which are part of The Gardeners Cottages. The
cottage sleeps 2 persons. <br>
The cottage is situated in the wooded grounds of Arden House which is on the
shores of Loch Lomond. The row of Cottages is built along one side of a
magnificent Victorian walled garden which is available for the recreation of
guests.<br>

The cottage is well equipped with all that is needed for a comfortable stay and
wireless, broadband, Internet access is available for use by guests.</span><br style="mso-special-character: line-break;">

Very comfortable rooms furnished and decorated with lovely details. The two owners Avril and Andy are very friendly and always there for wishes, questions or just a small talk. Very relaxing all around. We'll come back!

Everything was very well. The cottage was on a very quiet location, and had a beautiful garden. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was small, but very complete: it really had everything you might need. The atmosphere in the cottage was very well, thanks to Andy and Avril (the fresh flowers completed it and made us feel so welcome!)

We stayed in this delightful, quaint and very comfortable cottage for 4 nights over new year 2023. It could not have been better. Although small it was cosy and had everything we needed and more. The central heating was great and the cottage was always warm. There were nice touches like fresh flowers on the table, shortbread & Scottish tablet when we arrived. Andy & Avril were lovely hosts. Andy came in to check we had settled in and if we needed anything. Avril very kindly gave us instructions on how to get to the snowdrop walk which takes you down to Loch Lomond. It was a lovely walk. The walled gardens were spectacular, despite not being in full bloom. Avril told us the history behind the gardens, fascinating. We will definitely be back for a visit when the gardens are in bloom. Despite the weather being mainly rainy ( it’s Scotland and winter), we reluctantly left Luss cottage feeling rested and refreshed. Can’t wait to return in better weather. Thank you Andy & Avril for a lovely start to 2024.

Beautiful 1bedroom luss cottage very close to banks of Loch Lomond. Very well equipped kitchen, everything you need for a self catering vacation.
The rooms are cosy and did find the bed a little small but we were so exhausted from our days out that we actually slept really well
Would highly recommend a stay at gardeners cottages, excellent position for exploring the loch and surrounding area. Great value too and Andy and Avril were very friendly and helpful.

We’ve just returned from a short break at Gardener’s Cottages. The cottages are super cute, clean and comfy. Our host were very welcoming and ironed out a tiny problem quickly without fuss. The location was perfect for first-time visitors to Scotland. We wanted to be able to take in the scenery and found plenty to do close by. Thanks for a lovely break.

We stayed here with our 18 month old for 3 nights as we were attending a family wedding by Loch Lomond. The cottage is cozy but comfortable and spotless. What made it was all the outdoor space, which our little girl loved. And as for the walled garden..wow!
The location was great, easy to find, not far from a couple of big towns if you need anything but set back from the road so it's lovely and peaceful. Plenry of parking. Walking distance to the shores of the Loch too. The communication from Avril was great and the welcome treats so lovely. Would definitely recommend for a nice couples break or if travelling with an infant. We would definitely visit again, thank you.

Good starting point to explore Loch Lomond. Excursions to the west of the Highlands, e.g. to Oban, are easily done in one day.
The house is surrounded by lots of greenery and has a large garden. Luss Cottage is small but has everything you need for two people. It was a wonderful holiday.

Avril and Andy were very helpful and friendly from start to finish: from the questions I emailed before I made the booking, to kind welcome on arrival and advice on places to go during my stay. I stayed in 'Luss', the small (perfectly proportioned) one bed cottage, and it was perfect for a single traveller or couple. Cottage itself was charming, very comfortable and immaculately clean! I especially appreciated the Scottish shortbread and tablet left out for snacks :) The Gardeners Cottages are in a lovely secluded spot and the walled garden at the rear was beautiful. They provide chairs and a BBQ that you could use there too - wish I had spent more time there. It was great to be in a quieter spot but also not far from Luss town and Loch Lomond Shores tourist spots. Would also recommend the Auchentullich Farm shop which is very close by and has delicious local produce.
Avril and Andy are brilliant hosts and you can tell what hard work they put in to maintaining the cottages and grounds. Would like to visit again one day.

Luss Cottage was the perfect cosy weekend away and Avril and Andy could not have been more hospitable hosts. The cottage itself is incredibly homely and set in the most beautiful grounds, close to all amenities but hidden away enough to really feel like you're away from it all. What really stood out though was Avril and Andy's thoughtfulness and care as hosts -- they went above and beyond to make our stay with a young baby as easy as possible -- supplying a cot and highchair, and even some baby plates etc, as well as delicious scottish shortbread and fudge as a welcome gift. Can't recommend enough.

We stayed in Luss cottage at Christmas. The cottage is ideally located for walks round the Loch. The cottage is compact but had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We would come back!

The farm shop nearby at Auchentulloch is worth a visit!

Luss cottage was a beautiful base for a short break exploring Loch Lomond and the surrounding area. Easily accessible by car with plenty of parking. We were immersed in tranquility and beauty from the moment we arrived at Luss Cottage. Avril greeted us with heart felt enthusiasm and showed us to our warm and cosy cottage which had everything we needed - and more.

It was small and compact but large enough for us to have separate space when we needed it and was in every essence the sort of romantic cottage you would expect to find in a place of quiet togetherness.

Avril showed us the beautiful gardens where we could pick our own herbs which we did and they added a splendid accompaniment to our dinner on our first evening.

Luss cottage is wonderfully positioned on the banks of Loch Lomond and is an easy drive to all the main sites in terms of towns, picturesque scenes, marvellous vistas and magnificent restaurants.

We spent a glorious four days at Luss cottage and without hesitation will return again in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 night stay at Luss Cottage. Avril and Andy greeted me on arrival and living next door to Luss cottage meant that they were on hand if required but without being in the least bit intrusive. The butter shortbread was also very welcome after my journey north and didn’t last long once the kettle had boiled for the first of many cuppas!
Being set back from the busy A83 it was peaceful when sitting outside but also close enough for access to the many attractions/ places of interest. The interior of the cottage was exceptionally clean and super cosy, good use has been made of the space and its décor/furnishings are tastefully homely. The cottage didn’t lack for anything as far as I could see, and the complimentary toiletries provided were also lovely. There’s plenty of storage for clothes etc as well as everything I needed as far as kitchenware goes.
Definitely up for a special award is the bed which was exceedingly comfortable and for someone used to sleeping on a firm mattress I found this to be a real treat because although softer than mine, the balance of firmness and ‘give’ made for many nights of sound sleep.
I've already recommended Luss Cottage to friends and hope that they will take up the suggestion if they ever visit the area.

We had a fab stay in the Luss cottage. A cleverly laid out space that feels bigger than it really is. The decor and fittings are top quality and there isn't anything more you could ask for.
Avril and Andy were really friendly and helpful; always on hand if you needed anything - perfect service.
The location is brilliant too, quiet accommodation providing quick access to the many things to do around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.

Avril and her husband made us feel like home, they helped us to find great places to visit, including horse trakking, which we loved. The quietness of the cottage’s surroundings are a perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. We are looking forward to go back next year. We had a wonderful time at gardeners cottages,Avril and Andy were so lovely nothing was too much trouble for them they were so welcoming. We have stayed at Loch Lomond before this trip but we can honestly say that this was better. Isabel comes from port Glasgow and has family in Beith so it’s always heartwarming too see everyone. My partner and I had an amazing 2 day stay in Luss cottage. The cottage was cosy and warm and the design of the cottage made really good use of a small space - there was even a bath! It had all the amenities we needed such as, tea, coffee, milk etc. The hosts, Andy and Avril, were so friendly too, they were extremely hospitable and made us feel really at home.

Despite dreadful weather (constant rain and heavy overcast) we greatly enjoyed our stay and loved the location, which is convenient for exploring the area and for Helensburgh and Glasgow. The walled garden was delightful. Part of the time, we stayed in and relaxed in the comfortable seating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Luss Cottage. Andy and Avril were very helpful and considerate hosts and on hand for suggestions and advice and a flask of hot water when storm Ali caused a power cut! A compact but well appointed and comfortable cottage with access to a beautiful garden made it a great base to us to explore Loch Lomond and beyond.

We had been traveling around Scotland and highlands for 2 weeks and stopped at the Gardner’s cottage
for 2 nights to rest and recover before we continued our journey home and what a Oasis Gardner’s cottage is. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough, your made to feel very welcome from the start, the gardens are a delight and their is everything you might need from not only beds being made, lovely white towels and milk in the fridge to the shortbread biscuits waiting and the Scottish tablet. We will defiantly stay again on our next travels to the highlands their and back.

The only bad thing I can say about my stay at the Gardeners Cottages is, it wasn´t long enough! The Cottage was so cozy and comfortable I almost didn´t want to explore the area and just stay in. It is well equipped with everything you might need (or want).
And there is even more! A wonderful garden, ready for wandering around or having a bbq and a little path down to the lake with a little private beach.

We looked for a well located cottage for a short break around Loch Lomond and found a very special place in The Gardeners Cottages.
The location is perfect. Set back from the road it is quiet with lovely private gardens both front and rear of th3 property. A sort two minute walk takes one to the edge of the Loch. One morning we were treated to magical views as the swirling mist lifted and the boats emerged into the sunlight. Unforgettable.
From the cottage a short drive of just minutes takes one to restaurants both everyday and fine dining and ten minutes to Balloch with a nice farmers market on Sundays. Up the road is a small farm shop and tea rooms
Nearby Helensburgh has NT properties to visit. Short drive around the Loch to Balmaha with lovely walks up the hills or take a boat to the islands
The cottage itself was small but perfectly formed and ideal for a short break. On the same site larger cottages are available. All are well appointed and comfortable. The owners Avrial and Andy are the best hosts and ensure all is as it should be.

An excellent peacefull and quiet location for exploring the beautiful and scenic area around Loch Lomond and further afield.. The accommodation was excellent, the welcome from Andy and Averil warm and friendly and their advice on the local area made our visit to the area all the more enjoyable. Wir hatten während unserer Motorradtour durch Schottland zwei Nächte dort verbracht. Perfekt ausgestattet, sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Found Gardner's Cottage on the internet it looked just what we wanted and indeed it did not disappoint! Location is excellent for access to all the main routes around Loch Lomand and very close to Luss village which has some excellent eating places! We were having a short break for some walking but didn't want to break the bank, whilst the living area in this one bedroom cottage wasn't too large it was very clean and comfy and suited us down to the ground. Andy was very helpful with information on the local amenity's and there was plenty of information in the cottage to assist us. This row of cottages in very well looked after in a beautiful setting close to the Loch. We would definitely recommend this place and we are looking to return again with friends and stay in one of the larger 2 bed roomed cottages they have.

I have literally just left and could not wait to write a review for this amazing place. I stayed in Luss Cottage which was lovely and snug for a christmas retreat. The grounds were amazing and direct access to the loch for some wild swimming and canoeing on christmas day (wet suit needed!!!). Avril and Andy pop up out of nowhere when you need them and can't be seen or heard of when you want to imagine you have the whole place to yourself. Excellently stocked out and M&S only 7 miles down the road (even open on christmas day!). I have already booked my stay for next year.

The Luss cottage where we stayed is a lovely little cottage for two people. We absolutely loved staying there - it is a real gem - glad we found it! The cottage was immaculately clean with all the amenities one can think of. It is an extremely cosy cottage in a fantastic location yet hidden from the main street (though still easy to find). Very peaceful. It had a huge play area, a BBQ area, a recycling area and just a minute walk to the lake! The only downside is that the wi-fi sometimes doesnt work! But we were lucky as the Luss cottage seemed to have the strongest signal. Our neighbours from the next cottage had to come in front of our cottage to get the signal.
The cottage had a real character, the quality of furnishing is high - very comfortable; yet the price of the cottage is very reasonable. Jackie was really lovely and helpful. We LOVED staying there and can't wait to go back there again.

The Gardeners Cottages are situated in a very peaceful location with a short private walk through woods to the small beach, yet they are just off the main road along Loch Lomond. You wouldn't know they were there but so convenient for exploring the area. There are plenty of local walks but also easy access to other areas by car. The cottages themselves are of a very high standard with more than the usual items provided - coffee machine, DVD player, ipod dock, to name but a few. The owners, Andy and Avril MacLeod, are excellent hosts and live in one of the cottages so are on hand should you need them. Avril provides the cottages with fresh flowers, milk, shortbread and fudge as a welcome gift. There is a communal laundry room which also houses a chest freezer, a library of books, DVDs and children's toys, cool boxes, disposable barbecues, all for the use of the holidaymakers. There is plenty of parking space too.

My boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere peaceful and quiet to stay - a home from home whilst at a friends wedding near by. When we arrived we were amazed and thrilled by what we saw. There is a little pathway off the cottage grounds with a burn, leading to a private beach. Just behind the garden is a walled garden with seating areas and everything you could think of and possibly need was in the cottage. We absolutely loved the eco-friendly and organic products used. We don't drive but there is a regular bus going to Balloch and Luss. However, the owners kindly went of of their way to offer us a lift down to the bus stance on the last day as did another member of staff when she saw us missing the bus the first day. Could not reccomend enough - More than excellent value for money and we'd love to go back.

I really can not rate this place high enough! Avril and Andy were just so lovely and welcoming hosts. The cottage (Lomond) was so beautiful i was really taken back! Me and my partner stayed here for my Birthday weekend and there was no where better we could of possibly stayed. Close by to all the picturesque places we wanted to see and the cottage had everything we needed.

Avril certainly has a very special way of doing things and all the little touches certainly do not go unnoticed! Fresh flowers, high quality tea and coffee, EVERY item in the kitchen you would need and overall exceptionally keen and beautifully fitted out. We will certainly be back and are already looking forward to our next trip to the lochs! Thank you both! Ben and Sam

Take pride in their hospitally and level of service, it is apparent in how the cottage was presented when we first walked in.

We love every second spent at the cottage and we couldn't recommend it more. It was incredibly cosy and perfect for me and my wife on our first wedding anniversary.

We stayed in Luss cottage for a half term break. It is close to Loch Lomond and lots of other great places. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The cottage was cosy and provided a good base for us to explore the local area.
We travelled to Glasgow to the Hydro centre for the world gymnastics champion ships on the Saturday and this was not too far to get to from the cottage. All in all, a great stay.

A small, cosy gardener's cottage on the Arden Estate. It was convenient to lots of sights if you had a car. We can recommend the Loch Lomond cruise from Balloch. The train to Glasgow during the week ( a reasonable fare) is ideal as there is no hassle with parking...otherwise, on Sundays, parking is free in a lot of city areas and half price in parking lots.

The cottage was in a lovely location with plenty to do round and about. The gardens were beautiful. Although the cottage is small it is lovely and cosy for 2 people and everything you can expect was provided along with lots of extra personal touches like fresh flowers, milk and shortbread!!! The only thing we thought was the chairs were uncomfortable and would have preferred a small sofa or more comfortable chairs. Avril and Andy were full of local knowledge helping us plan visits etc, lovely people. We look forward to staying at the cottages again soon, in one of the larger cottages as we will be bringing the children.
Overall a great place and can't wait to stay again.

Had a fantastic two night stay for a friend's wedding at Cameron House. On arrival we were greeted by avril and andy who showed us around the cottage , very helpful and friendly , the cottage had everything we need and was very comfortable and clean , in all the facillities were excellent , there were guide books and a visitors comment book that helped us enormously getting around and recommending restaurants . My wife and I had a lovely time marred only by the fact that no pets are allowed. We would've happily paid extra to be able to bring our dog but I do appreciate some pets could be problematic.2-person cottage was much smaller than it appeared in the photos, but extremely well equipped, very clean and comfortable - although a little open fire or wood burner would've been really cosy. The setting was lovely but the weather prevented us from taking advantage of the walled garden and BBQ etc. The location is a great base for the surrounding area and shops available a few minutes away in Balloch. All in all an enjoyable and comfortable stay but would've stayed much longer had we been able to bring our dog which had to be put into boarding kennels. Didn't get the opportunity to meet Andy and Avril as they were on holiday.

Ellen & I had a marvellous four day break at the Gardeners Cottages in Arden. The views & atmosphere was second to none. We were in Luss Cottage a really comfortable cottage in every respect, it contained everything we could possibly need. We were sorry to have missed Avril & Andy who were away at the time. However, we were catered for by Jackie who was a wonderful hostess, she did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. To say we had an exceptionally great stay would be putting it mildly. Would we return? You bet we will. We now consider it to be our wee But n Ben.

Brilliant resources in the laundry room, including maps and guides, magazines, bbq's and an honesty bottle shop. A nice little cottage in a peaceful setting. Great to go and explore the park and do some walks. The cottage was very complete. Outside there was a laundry room with provides much more than just room to do your laundry :-) It contained a lot of information and also stuff to borrow like a coolbox or a picknick-basket. Behind the cottages lays a wonderful huge garden with you can use to walk, sit or even barbecue at. We enjoyed our stay very much.

It was our first visit to the region of Loch Lomond and the accommodation was a fantastic base to explore the Loch and attractions. We stayed 4 days in this beautifully cosy cottage and loved every minute of it. Ideally located in beautiful wall gardens with wild rabbits hopping around all day, and a short walk to the waters edge. The cottage is petite but had everything we could possibly need, very well thought out layout and contents. The bed was the most comfortable bed we've stayed in for some time, and the linen of the finest quality. Fresh flowers, milk and tea and shortbread and tablet were lovely added touches. Also the board games and DVD collection in the laundry room is quite impressive! Could not recommend this place enough, lovely helpful owners too.

Arrived on a Friday night and were pleasantly surprised by the cottage. Tasteful decor, perfect surroundings and complimentary milk, shortbread, tablet and tea bags. Cottage had everything required and had a very homely feel. Cleanliness was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed stay. Wished we had more time to explore the garden grounds as looked amazing.

Would definitely recommend, especially for weddings at the Cruin as it is a short walk back.

Wonderful stay at Luss Cottage last week April 2015. We were met with a warm welcome by our hosts Avril and Andy. Avril had fresh flowers tea coffee milk and shortbread waiting for us in the candlelit cottage making it very homely. Avril also made up a breakfast tray for us including eggs cereal and bread. Our plane was delayed which resulted in us arriving in the dark and not having time to get any supplies so we thought this was a lovely gesture. Andy was also very helpful nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is very small but very well equipped without being cluttered. It is warm and cosy. The cottage is in a good position for exploring Loch Lomond and the surrounding area.

Location is perfect this elegant row of cottages wonderfully looked after by Avril and Andy. Quiet and discrete with parking before the cottage each cottage is well prepared for self catering with nice touches not forgetting the garden and walking opportunity to the loch and various eating places on the loch. Easy to drive to other loch Lomond areas and the towns of helensburgh and balloch. Stifling is around 40 minutes. Perfect for all occasions and with such great hosts you cannot go wrong. We will be back yet again....

We stayed at Luss for a short weekend break of two nights, and when time came to leave we were very sad to say goodbye. The whole trip was made lovely by the consideration of our fabulous hosts and other staff at the Gardener's Cottages. We were not only impressed but touched by little things such as shortbread, tablet, and milk in the fridge. There is absolutely nothing we would have changed, it was a real treat and we very much look forward to coming back. Luss Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. We know the area well and had stayed on the estate before, but not as guests of Avril and Andy's. These lovely people think of everything to ensure you have a wonderful stay - the welcome shortbread and flowers were both really nice touches. The tablet to take home was kind and thoughtful too! The cottage is warm, very cosy and beautifully furnished and completely suited our needs for a short stay meeting up with friends and family. Just sorry we had to dash off on the morning of our departure so that we didn't have a chance to tell Avril and Andy what a great stay we had - however, we'll be back.

My partner and I stayed in the Luss cottage for 3 nights, on arrival we were met by Avril & Andy who welcomed us into their home, until our cottage was ready. When we went into the Luss cottage we were met with freshly picked snowdrops, milk, tea, coffe & sugar. Unlike other Self catering holidays we've stayed at everything was provided from kitchen roll to a bottle opener! We loved how peaceful it was and how non intrusive Avril and Andy were if we needed anything they were more than happy to help otherwise they let us enjoy the little time we had together. The garden is beautiful with pheasants, rabbits and a variety of birds that can be seen daily and the private beach you could spend most of the day there skimming stones and watching the boats sail by! This place is an absolute treasure. This is the place to spend your pink pound! :) Thank you again Avril and Andy we will return with our daughter very soon!

On arrival we were offered the oportunity to upgrade to Linnhe cottage, which we gratefully did (Luss looks very tiny when looking through the window, but we didn't go in). The owners were very welcoming and stressed they were available at any time to help with quetions/queries. A lovely cottage, just right for 2 or 3, maybe a little too cosy for 4(?).Lots of pine & tartan, which made the cottage very cosy & homely. Kitchen well stocked and plenty of armchairs/sofas to sit on. A really comfy bed. Very peaceful location - can walk to Balloch (initially along fairly bus road (with footpath) but after a while follows old A road & then through grounds of a hotel complex. Walled garden very well looked after & would be lovely to spend time there in summer. A nice base for the area but if you want to walk you either have to do a little road-work initially or drive short distances. We had lovely trips out (Aquarium at Balloch shores great on a wet day), Balloch shores very good quality shops & cafe. Took a trip on west highland railway fro Tarbet to Oban 25 min drive to Tarbet) - note if you purchase your tickets from tourist information in Balloch you receive a discount. Lots of books & dvds' to borrow from owners - separate room near cottages has these, plus washing machine, dryeer, etc.
A lovely cosy relaxing stay.

Wonderful cottage, good value and great location. The grounds are fantastic.
Avril and Andy are such lovely hosts.
Only request would be more comfortable sofas.
