The Lodge is set on approximately an acre of land surrounded by landscaped gardens and a large patio area. It is tastefully furnished throughout offering bright and spacious living.

We had a lovely time in Ballinakill Lodge. Great location. Kitchen very well equipped. Bedrooms very spacious and comfortable. One suggestion would be to have some more armchairs or couches in the dining room as there is not enough seating for all in the evenings after dinner other than staying at the dining table.

We had a fantastic stay in Ballinakill Lodge. I would definitely stay there again. It was spotless and we had all the facilities we needed. The Landlord is a phone call away if you need anything. In a great location. 10 minutes drive from Clifden. 15 minutes from Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park. Glassilaun Beach and Dogs Bay are beautiful. Just bring a picnic as no shops or facilities there. Also did a trip to the aran Islands from Rossaveel. Wish I was still there.

We had a very relaxing and chilled few days with the family. Plenty of space for everybody and we were blessed with the weather so we could take full advantage of the beautiful garden.

Plenty of room for our party of 10 people. Beds and bedding were comfy and fresh. Well equipped kitchen. A few more cups would have been useful, as well as one or two Pyrex casserole type dishes. We had a wonderful holiday in Connemara and would recommend this house unreservedly.

We stayed for one week over Easter in Ballinakill Lodge. There were 6 Adults and 6 children age 6-12 years. Everyone had their own bed and the rooms are really spacious. Plenty of bathrooms throughout the house including a jacuzzi !! We did have some problems with the heating and it was a very cold week however Gerry the owner lives behind the house and was always available if we needed anything and did send a plumber to fix the problem. We bought fuel and had really nice fires each night. The Dining Table was excellent for a group of our size to enjoy meal times together. The kitchen is well equipped . We were 5 minutes from Connemara National Park , 10/15 mins drive to Clifden and around 20 minutes to Cleggan where we took the Ferry to Inis Boffin for an amazing day on the island. Omey beach, Glassilaun Beach and all the beaches around Roundstone Dogs Bay etc are fabulous. Kylemore Abbey is a great visit for all the family and there are lovely walks on the grounds.The local shop in Letterfrack is extremely well stocked and only minutes down the road. We had a great dinner ( all 12 of us !) in Mitchells of Clifden one evening too. We would recommend and book Ballinakill Lodge again. It is a great value for this location.

Our second time to stay in this property and a great base for exploring the beautiful surroundings of Connemara. This is an ideal house for a large family with lots of space and enough bathrooms for everybody. It is ideally situated between Letterfrack and Clifden, with the Connemara National Park just down the road. Letterfrack, though a small village, has three pubs which provide food as well and a really well-stocked supermarket. Highly recommended.

We were a group of 12 Walkers from France
Ballinakill lodge was ideal for such a party, quite modern with huge accommodation.
It is well situated between Letterfrack and Clifden for shopping or driving either inland or to the coast.
So we managed to visit all the sites we had selected: Killary Harbor ,Inishmore, Kylemore, Diamond Hill, Cong,Clifden Sky Road,
Galway.Lovely weather , a wonderful holiday!
P.S. The ladies in charge of cooking would have appreciate a second large stewpot with a lid and a few more bowls.Simple details.

We were a group of 4 related families ranging over three generations.
The house is ideally designed for this grouping. A bathroom for each of 6 bedrooms makes for a very harmonious time!
A big garden for the adults and children to play footie. Very well placed between Clifden and Letterfrack.
Would have liked the cutlery to be a bit larger and a clothes-horse would have been handy for our mounds of wet clothes.
All round a very pleasant stay.

First impression was of a very spacious, bright and airy property. Main rooms were clean, the garden was attractive and tidy. However we had a number of issues. On arrival the owner was not present to greet us but left a note saying that the dishwasher was not working but would be fixed on Monday. In actual fact it was not repaired until Friday, the day before we were leaving. The barbeque was in a disgusting state, greasy and mouldy. It took considerable effort to get it fit to use. The cooker was dirty and the filter above the cooker even dirtier. The kitchen equipment was of poor quality and some of it was damaged. Plates and mugs chipped. Cutlery poor. Light fitting in lounge hanging down by its wiring. Soap holders in ensuites rusty. Shower cubicles in both bathrooms leaking ( this was also pointed out by another reviewer from 2015 but apparently not acted on ). Several bedside lights not working. The sting in the tail was a demand for 92 euros for utilities when we were leaving. Seemed excessive to say the least. Electricity charged at 30c per Kwh even though the average price in ROI is about 16c. Would rather have been charged a few euros more in the initial rent and then knew where we stood. These things should have been sorted out prior to our tenancy and would have made our stay much more enjoyable.

This is a big six-bedroomed house with lots of bathrooms, so ideal for a large family gathering. It is perfectly situated between Clifden and Letterfrack with the Connemara National Park just down the road. There are plenty of good options for eating out in Letterfrack. We would also highly recommend Paddy Coyne's in Tully Cross and Guy's in Clifden for food and if you like the perfect pint of Guinness in a genuine old-fashioned pub, then try Lowry's in Clifden. There are also wonderful beaches nearby - Lettergesh, Glassilaun and Dog's Bay.

We hope to return to Ballinakill Lodge again next year - it's the perfect base for Connemara and is a great place to stay.

A large group of friends stayed for the weekend. The house is really spacious and comfortable, in a lovely location. Lovely views and a short drive to stunning scenic places. Handy for the National park, Omey Island, Cliveden. Owner was really helpful and close to hand but unobtrusive. We had a fab weekend.

Our stay was overall very enjoyable. It is a big comfotable house though it would be good to have another couch in the large dining room to take advantage of the sunny window. Also there are no patio chairs to sit outside except some benches. It was clean & well maintained though the showers in the two main bathrooms leaked, which I meant to mention to the owner. The setting and garden are beautiful & it suited a large family group very well.

The house was really nicely finished,modern and has most of the things we needed for our stay. Would recommend that you provide some salad bowls and salad servers (we had to go and buy some),a cork screw and some good cutlery (a couple of the forks were badly bent and the knives were falling apart) and a basic welcome package would be nice considering the price of the house. That said we had a great holiday and really liked the house. The bedrooms are all roomy and the en-suites are great - really good showers too. The house was clean and the location is good,only criticism would be that it is on a main road which is dangerous to walk along.

My main issue was with the extra charge for the electric and heating. I can find nothing on the web site about this and the owner asked for 50 euros for the week for this. I didn't want to start an argument with him at the end of the holiday so I paid it in full but I am unhappy about this.
