An exceptional place - from the gadget filled kitchen (initially - complicated kitchen stove - ) to the very - very comfy bedrooms and super clean bathrooms, A villa we thoroughly enjoyed The well kept gardens and the focally arranged terraces were a great place to indulge in Tuscan landscapes and sunsets. Very nice indeed. We did have an issue during the stay with the wifi, but this was very quickly resolved and provided a good connection for us all. Good communication both before and during our stay here was excellent. Although particularly hot this summer , we found the pergolas a...more
Great hosting and perfect location . Clean and comfrotable , lots of space inside and out. We all thoroughly enjoyed the amenities and the ease of getting around. Highly recommended (except perhaps next July when we would like to come back,,,,!)
Easy to get to and, after a long haul with the children, the easy arrival and first splash in the pool was the most welcoming part of our first day in Italy. A useful guide to local amenities, restaurants and places around the area make it easier too when arriving in a new place The house is cared for and has all the right things to enjoy a family (and friends) holiday. Air conditioning useful, but not necessary and, the well kitted kitchen , big bedrooms all made it a superb holiday. One issue is that the "main bedroom" at the top of the house , with its large ensuite bathroom and batht...more
THe villa is along a minor road, and is therfore easy to access - lots of parking space which was useful fro our 4 cars. The intern of the villa very well kept and easy to see that the owner has given a lot of thought to making us (and others) very comfortable. The initial reservations and helpful conversations helped with our plans - including the use of Bologna airport which gave us many more options - and, "thank you" great fares! Large "decorative" rooms and more space than you could imagine 5 reception rooms including an enormous TV room! Very comfy beds and the A/C for those of u...more
Positives: Sunshine, beautiful location, full of character, remote/quiet, large swimming pool, support and advice from Terry. Negatives: NOthing really but could do with a freezer the ice compartment wouldn't even keep ice cream frozen!
From the time of booking we knew we had the right place for us. This very quiet little corner with nice views of the valley and distant towns, the olive grove setting was all perfect. The Private pool well maintained (the man came twice!) and the facilities for the children (including the obligatory WiFi and TV !) were all perfect. The closest shop about 1.5 km had all sorts of local produce as well as some local wines, further along the valley was the main town with at least 3 large supermarkets and on Thursday the market at Camucia and Friday at Castiglion were very interesting and recommen...more
What more to want - but a lovely home to enjoy two weeks in Italy. The large bedrooms with nice clean bathrooms, the (two) kitchens one small at the top of the house for the lazy amongst us.. and lots of space for us all to find our own space as well as great communal dining etc. Good wifi and easy communication with the owner. The pool and its setting marvelous to enjoy the views, and a little corner close to a olive tree with lovely natural shade.
We all agreed that this was a lovely choice for our vacation in Tuscany. Great views - including the famous castel montechio along with typical countryside of Tuscany. THe villa has easy access - and closed gate entrance. THe owners gave a very warm welcome and the guidebook in English was very useful in planning day touring and to local restaurants and markets - all very well presented. Comfortable house with (two kitchens), and much space both inside and out for us to enjoy our individual space as well as the large dining rooms and the large terrace setting. Great pool (good for the vie...more
We had a wonderful stay with our family at Villa Castello Roccolo. When we arrived, we had a lovely welcome by Terry who made us feel at ease throughout our stay and gave us helpful tips to find our way around Castiglion Fiorentino. The house itself is cozy and lovely, with a rich history and wonderfully renovated by the owner. The amenities in the house were sufficient to enjoy wonderful home-cooked meals which we could eat outside in the shade of the trees. From the house the view out on the valley is truly amazing, including the olive trees, the nearby town on a hill top, beautiful sun...more
We had a lovely stay here and, thanks too to Jonti for her kindness in helping us with our plans (by the wway she is not just a good chef - but a GREAT chef!). A very lovely setting, surrounded by fields of wheat? corn and of course sunflowers . heaven! Although Jonti has the ground floor apartment here, we had the full run of the gardens and the pool for ourselves. The villa accurately described and we would be happy to return again.
