We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage with stunning views. It was clean and well equipped and very comfortable
This awesome house is on a large lot with beautiful views across the Sound of Mull to the Isle of Mull. House was clean, well equipped, and fully prepared for our arrival. Could not ask for more. It is obvious by the personal touches care that this house is loved by its owners, who also use it as their vacation home. If you are headed to Kilchoan, stay here. In addition, the Kilchoan Hotel, just down the road, had great food and a friendly staff and patrons.
We have just had our second stay at the lovely Smithy house. Local to Everything you need Ferry, Kilchoan, hotel, lighthouse, beaches, fresh eggs a walk away. It doesn't stop there. The house is opposite the stunning view of Mull. The beds are so comfy I don't know if you sleep so well from sea air or comfort. We will be back for sure.
We were met on arrival and shown where everything was and how it all worked. The interior is a little work of art. Managed to forget a watch when we left. A quick call and it was found and dispatched straight away. Terrific service.
We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed exploring the surrounding beaches. Had campfire on beach and watched the sun go down so very peaceful could stay here forever ,we all fell in love with Portuairk, and intend coming back next year .
Rudh Dubh, for its size, is imaginatively furnished and equipped - binoculars, maps, walking guides are real bonuses - and the shower is stunning (shells, pebbles ...) The sofa bed works well and is comfortable in both functions. The fridge is an adequate size but lacks a freezer compartment. We also found the lack of a microwave a disadvantage as all food has to be carried in on the energetic, rocky, muddy and slippery cliff path. Once arrived however the location and view is stunning and we enjoyed swimming off the 'private' beach and at Sanna. Anyone going does need to heed all the warnings...more
Lovely cosy cottage with stupendous views; remoteness is a benefit but transport is essential. Peninsula is well worth exploring as well as trips to the Isles
The guys thought the accommodation was perfect, they really enjoyed their stay. They enjoyed the views of the surrounding area whilst working.
Excellent location for bird and wildlife watching. A bit of a bumpy ride to the property and the beach is a bit of a walk but all in all worth the effort. Very clean and cosy.
comfy retreat with excellent views over the sound of mull. A lovely beach at Sanna and the ferry to Tobermory was notable.
This was our third visit here. It is a cosy property containing all we need for a comfortable and relaxing weeks stay in the area.
The accommodation resembled a student maintained house. It was very very expensive for the poor quality - based on the location but it wasnt worth it. The location attracted us, and the website pictures seemed great. We opted to have bedding provided by the company. The bedding was old and the duvets filthy The were no locks on the sliding sash windows which could be lifted up by anyone There was no fire blanket or fire extinguisher (only realised when we went to a second property where there were fire safety items) The property was damp and mouldy A radiator had been taken out and wher...more
The cottage is beautiful, with great views. It is well equipped, clean and well kept. It was nice to have a games room, although we didn't use it much. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay very much.
It was such a lovely weekend and the accommodation was great. A wonderful place to go for a weekend and catch up with old friends.
Our stay was very peasant, we loved the area and the cottage ! We will recommend Steading holidays .
We have holidayed in Kilchoan for almost 30 yrs . This cabin dissappointed. Black mould inside freezer , floor covered in stains , dog hairs on th cooker door , fridge hadn't been cleaned and the windows were smeared . Cobwebs and dust everywhere -- a small curly hair on the bottom bed sheet. Despite assurances that the house woud be put right it wasn't. The cleaners arrived but didn't remedy things and returned later to apologise , still no cleaning . Had to clean it ourselves . Really saddened by the lack of consideration for our comfort especialy as we paid £600. Kilchoan is a stunningly ...more
Stunning views over the water the house although dated was spotless and is a great size with everything you need for your break good spacious rooms separate dining room and utility room fairly new white goods ,flat screen tv, CD player and DVD would certainly use steading homes again
We had a mixed week at Jack's Ranch - weatherise at least. For two guys on a quick short break, the property was adequate but a little over-priced considering the general upkeep and state of repair. The washing machine was leaking on our first attempt to use it - no big deal for two guys BUT this would be a major problem for a young family I think. The garden was VERY overgrown and looked as if nobody had bothered with it all summer - NOT as expected from the picture currently being used on Steading's website. Decor is fine but the furnishings were looking a little past their 'sell-by' date! ...more
Thought the accommodation was really lovely and in a stunning location. Had a fantastic stay - met the owner Donald, a lovely man Shame you didnt ask for a review of Keepers cottage Ardnamurchan lighthouse where we also spent a week - Excellent location, everything else Poor or Awful. Also arranged by Steading. results in an Average standard of service for Steading, because of the glaring inconsistency in quality.
My friend and I loved our stay at the Saltings. The log construction makes for very warm and peaceful accommodation. Equipment was good quality, good to use and pleasing to the eye (crockery etc) . Furniture comfortable and good looking. We enjoyed the generous dimensions of the shower and the plentiful hot water. The beds are the most comfortable either of us have ever slept in. (double up and down) , The location is excellent - central but very peaceful. We enjoyed the garden, the birds and even the rain as it drummed on the roof. This was a perfect (though too...more
