We had such a lovely stay in the North Wing after our wedding. Gorgeous accommodation and Stefan provided a beautiful breakfast for us. Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our wedding night.
It was a very pleasant stay at Combermere, we went there as my 19th ggf John de Brundelegh 1320– was clerk to the Abbot of Combermere and served the Black Prince in about the 1350s so it was a bit of an historic ancestral pilgrimage, I knew access was going to be a problem in such an ancient house so I have no complaints regarding this although it was definitely not easy but the staff were as helpful as they could be. We were very comfortable and luckily the other guests were excellent company so really enjoyed our stay albeit very for one night only. Interestingly have since discovered I’m...more
Fabulous time with all our family in one of our favourite places . But missed ‘the benches’ by the mere! We have opened many a bottle of fizz down there over 23 years to celebrate SO many moments. Look forward to the snowdrops next year. Many thanks to you All. Fond Regards Lin and Richard Chell.
We stayed at crossley cottage it was comfortable and clean enjoyed the breakfast packet which catered for all our needs and my celiac diet. Would definitely recommend.
We rented Beckett Cottage alongside Wellington Cottage for a family get together. We couldn't have wished for better. There was plenty of space between the two cottages for our family of 11, but with the added bonus that the dining hall in Beckett could accommodate all of us (and possibly one or two more) for evening meals together. Everything was as it should be - clean, well equipped and comfortable. Combermere Abbey is in a wonderful location and offers the choice or relaxing within the peaceful grounds or visiting some of the easily reached attractions nearby, such as Chester Zoo, Hawk...more
We stayed for 2 nights to attend our sons wedding...venue was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful..Thank you. Joanne Matthews.
We have stayed in Combermere on quite a few occasions. We arrived after a long journey completely frazzled. We left feeling so refreshed and peaceful after a few days of complete relaxation. It is a beautiful place to stay, as long as you can get in between all the weddings! Empress cottage had everything we needed. Would recommend Combermere to anyone who needs to relax, but I don’t like to broadcast it as it’s our secret place!
We really enjoyed staying here. Clean and comfortable. It was a bit chilly when we got there but housekeeping sorted it out immediately. The grounds are also lovely - woodlands and walled gardens.
Wellington was one of two cottages rented for a family get together. There are 11 of us in total, so along with Beckett Cottage, the accommodation was perfect. Everything was just as it should be - clean, well equipped and in a delightful setting. Combermere is in a great location as well. The grounds are wonderfully tranquil, should you just want to stay close to home, but it is also within easy reach of several attractions, such as Chester Zoo, Hawkstone Follies and the Llangollen canal. An ideal place to stay.
We have annually stayed at Combermere over many years hosting family, friends and mainly grandchildren. With this recent visit, staying in Cotton, we have now stayed in every cottage that the estate has on offer. We enjoy the quality of the accommodation, surroundings and the peace and quiet the estate offers.
From the moment I booked , everything ran smoothly. Rachel was so helpful and ensured that our stay was perfect. The location, setting and comfort of our property was a 10/10. We will be back .
Wonderful Christmas stay . Very helpful and knowledgeable staff which made the booking process easy and helped us to make the correct choice of cottages .Perfect grounds, gardens and atmosphere for a fantastic stay.
