I stumbled on Combermere Abbey, after searching on Google for "luxury hotels in Shropshire". I was looking to surprise my fiance for our anniversary, but, given current restrictions, knew that it would be sensible to not travel too far from home. Combermere Abbey immediately caught my attention by its stunning architecture, and when I looked into it further, the venue seemed almost too good to be true. I chose to book the Salamanca suite in the North Wing, as I knew that my fiance would be particularly appreciative of the bath, which stands in the centre of the bathroom, overlooking a waters...more
From start to finish we felt completely looked after and relaxed. The setting is so peaceful and beautiful. This isn’t a hotel with a bar and hustle and bustle it’s 2 rooms in a separate wing of the Abbey with a beautiful lounge and breakfast area and stunning views of the lake and estate. You are looked after by the rachel and Stefan making things even more special. We loved our time there just wish it had been longer!
The cottage was everything we needed just for the short break away and we don't live far away so easy to get to. The grounds are extensive so got lots of fresh air and walked the dog. So much to look at .. we will definitely be back.
Combermere is the most perfect location this is our 7th visit. The cottages are fantastic and so well equipped. It is such a beautiful, peaceful location. Extra covid measures are in place to make you feel safe which we did. We had a wonderful time again and always recommend Combermere to family and friends.
We had a lovely break, cottage had everything we needed and we really enjoyed the outdoor space! We would definitely return!
We really enjoyed our stay in Callander Cottage. It felt safe during these pandemic times, very clean and comfortable. Loved the woodland walk. We'll return in the Summer so we can go wild swimming!
We got married at Combermere Abbey on NYE 5 years ago, and were blown away with it then, and so were all our guests. We welcomed our first child, a baby boy, into the world in February and decided it would be an amazing first Christmas for him and also a wonderful 5 year wedding anniversary treat, to return over the festive period. We got in touch and the team were amazing in securing our original wedding cottage for the stay, we were so excited. Then the pandemic hit, and because we now live in Amsterdam it made it extra challenging for us to know if we'd get back. The team were incredible in...more
Another pleasant and relaxing stay, marred only by the courtyard cleaning works, but staff addressed these issues promptly. As always the cottage was immaculately presented, providing very comfortable accommodation - I have stayed in many of the cottages over the past 20 years and have always enjoyed my visits
We had a lovely stay for three nights at Cotton Cottage. Well I say cottage, but the property was huge! Beautiful surroundings and so peaceful. The hamper provided was very generous too. Will definitely be back!
Have been there with my wife to escape from the city. It was an amazing weekend despite the bad weather as we choose to take it easy cooking food and sitting in front of the fire place. Walking around was also very nice.
Had a lovely short break in Poole cottage. Another cosy cottage at combermere and we loved walking down by the lake, curling up in front of the fire and exploring the gardens.
We stayed for Christmas 2020 as a couple with our 1 year old labrador and it was the perfect escape! The enclosed garden of Wellington Cottage was ideal for our dog and the pleasure gardens and woodlands were great for him to explore on long walks. Wellington Cottage was a perfect home from home. The woodburner, window seat and Christmas tree provided a perfect reason to hunker down with a good book and a glass of wine after a long walk, and the well equipped kitchen made Christmas lunch a breeze! We will definitely be back to enjoy another break away at Comberemere Abbey.
