Just returned from a 2 week break at Appin Holiday Homes. The lodge was clean and comfortable and offers a perfect base for exploring the West Coast of Scotland. Lovely days out in Oban, Fort William, Mallaig, Glen Coe, Glasgow, Mull and even further afield upto Aviemore. It's great to see the cycle tracks being used so well. Had a number of great walks around Glen Creran and along the canal at Neptune's Staircase. Fantastic opportunities for wildlife spotting. Unwind at the end of the day with a pint at Creagan Inn. Jim and Julie remain, as ever, fantastic hosts. Highly recommended.
We spent a week at Rowan lodge (2 adults, 3 yo and 11 wk old) in June 2017. We have always stayed in Oban (previously had a family holiday house there) so this was our first time coming to the area and staying elsewhere. The lodge was in a lovely location with a fabulous view out across the loch. The veranda area was well sheltered which I used for a spot of morning yoga! Our 3 yo loved exploring the surrounding area which had plenty of interest for her including the old train line and station house and venturing down to the shore. A travel cot and highchair were already in the lodge for us (w...more
Absolutely beautiful place, caravan spotless and the sight well kept. It's our 7th stay, won't be our last!
The caravan was in a fabulous location and was in great condition. The view was very impressive. Customer service was exemplary. Had a lovely 4 days. Thanks
We return year after year to Appin holiday homes for our easter holiday, we absolutely love the location and all the outdoor activities on our doorstep and Julie & Jim's hospitality! We particularly like caravan L with it's stunning views over the loch and surrounding fields,it really doesn't get any better. We will most definitely be back next year!
Just returned from a weeks stay in oak tree lodge. Couldn't fault it. The lodge had everything we needed. Beautiful setting with Fantastic views, lovely walks, 2 mins to the loch for the dogs early morning swim, 10 mins walk to the lovely Restaurant. Only slight downside is no wifi in the lodge but we knew this before booking. Would definitely recommend a stay at Appin holiday homes.
Location 10/10 Caravan was new 9/10 bed could have been a bit better, but that is down to the manufacturer Wi-Fi wasn't available in the caravan The site was very good ,small but not to many caravans all with excellent views 10/10 A good pub just down the road Lots of wildlife to see Would definitely recommend this site And would like to stay again in the future, lots to see and do.
My wife and I had a great time. Beautiful area to explore. The caravan was clean with all we needed for our stay. Great value for money, cannot fault really. Many thanks.
Appin Holiday homes made it possible to have quite close to both Fort William and Oban. Fort William suited our hiking-style better and it took 40 minutes to go to FW, a bit far to go almost every day. The caravan was good, perfect size for the 4 of us, and had everything we needed in the kitchen, with TV, shower and so on. The nearest restaurant was great. The wifi-room is quite boring.
Second year in a row that we come here. As splendid as last year. Great lodge with all comfort. Clean and nice interior. Gorgeous views over the loch. Great place to eat down the road (Creagan Inn). When we come back to Scotland, we will definitely come back here!
Appin Holiday Homes is our perfect destination in Scotland. The lodge was warm, comfortable and contained everything for a weeks self catering break. Ideal location on the West coast of Scotland for Oban, Fort Willian, Glasgow (let the train take the strain) and offered the opportunity of visiting our son in the Cairngorms. Jim and Julie as ever are perfect hosts. Lucky with the weather and great to see the Creagan Inn doing so well. Highly recommended.
This was the ideal location and the property was perfect the only thing I would say is the beds need updating a little as the are not very comfy and very squeaky to the extent that even rolling over would wake us up. But apart from that it was brilliant!!!
Buena localizacion, dueños muy amables y casa absolutamente acogedora, amplia y comoda. En un paraje precioso en el que se respira paz. Lo recomendamos!
Spectacular views, a cosy cabin and a very warm welcome from the owners. Already booked a return visit. John & Leah.
This place is great as a Base...it has everything you need and is clean..great location and there is a fantastic pub that serves food just a 5 min stroll away...would definitely recommend this place
This was our second time staying at Birch Tree, and although the weather was not to kind this year the location is excellent for getting to know the area. The lodge is an ideal base with all the basic requirements to make ones stay comfortable and welcoming. Jim and Julie are both very friendly and helpful should you need them, but they do not push themselves into your space. Local pub serves good quality food should you not feel like cooking your own. Should you be like me, nearly 60 beware of the rope swing could have been a disaster for me LOL.
Another great stay at Caravan in Appin Holiday Homes. Fantastic Location and couldn't want for more. Owners very helpfull and friendly. Although an older model of caravan, it was perfect for us. Everything you needed there and perfectly comfortable. Great walks in surrounding area and cycle path too. Handy for everything yet, a very peacefull place. Could live there no bother! Thanks again for everything and, we shall definately return. A true Gem of a place. Joan and Neil.
Superb views across Loch Creran and easy access to places such as Glencoe and Western Isles. Jim was a friendly host - provided very helpful travel and sightseeing advice. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - recommend the nearby Castle Stalker View café.
