It was a great stay in a really lovely and well thought out Shepherds Hut with everything you could need to have the perfect stay provided by the owners. The icing on the cake was the welcome basket of goodies and hot tub. The area was lovely with many places to visit. The owners were very helpful and had put a great deal into making your stay a pleasure with all the extra's they provided at a small cost. Will be returning at a later date soon. Thank you David and Lorna for a real lovely place to stay.
We enjoyed our stay at Cowslip Barn. We found the hosts to be very helpful and welcoming. The Barn was equipped as described surrounded by beautiful gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We stayed at the cottage over October half term, perfectly placed in a beautiful village. From the cottage you can walk everywhere around Burnham. Suitable for all our family. Our daughter age 10 loved the cottage and has asked to go back. Near Holkham, Brancaster Beach, Wells, Blakney. Everything is in the cottage you could ask for. The owner could not be more helpful. We will be staying again.
Property was very spacious and comfortable and very well presented. It was well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The children loved the double and single bunk bed. We particularly liked the different dining options and enjoyed eating outside in the secluded courtyard garden. Only a few minutes drive from the beach. Happy to recommend.
A well presented house with all required amenities for a week away with a family. Garden very well appointed just a shame we only got to sit in it once as weather awful this week. I cannot fault anything with so many areas to visit locally. Pubs, shops even fuel close by. Would certainly stay again if could be sure of the weather.
This is a wonderful cottage. Sufficiently far from the madding crowd -if that's what you want- but a couple of miles drive and you can be on a long beach , in a busy market town or having a meal in an excellent restaurant. The area and amenities are mostly dog friendly and the local folks are charming and helpful. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. We have a dog and it was a blessing to be able to take him everywhere with us. We visited Norwich for the first time, a beautiful unspoilt city with loads of history and good architecture. Also took in Cromer, Sheringham, Blakeney a...more
owners were friendly and suggested local places to eat and drink. the children liked the alpackers. x
We were so comfortable we didn't want to come home! Everything was just perfect, provided with the guests comfort in mind! So clean and easy.....we really loved our 5 days at Little Birches. So handy for Sandringham, which was a great day out, and Kings Lynn. Our hosts were very welcoming!
Have had a weeks holiday in Wells for several years and this apartment is the best ever. Have booked it again for next year
One of the best holiday rental homes we have stayed in. A beautiful welcome pack which included fresh scones, clotted cream & jam along with a bottle of chilled wine was the perfect start. Everything you could need was in the house, from DVDs & games for the kids to a well stocked kitchen, quality bedding & towels and plenty of space for a family. It is in a great location in Wells, within walking distance of everything & handy to have somewhere to park the car. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to share their beautiful holiday home for a week, hope we can come back one day!
Delightful cottage which is in a very convenient location. Easy access to surrounding villages and beaches. Very clean and well equipped, with loads of character. Beds were very comfy with good quality bedding. The whole cottage was presented with high quality furnishings. On arrival there was milk in the fridge and a very much appreciated tea tray with cookies. Would definitely book again.
Great place to stay, gives all the home comforts you could need. Extremely clean and comfortable. Quiet and close to all the amenities needed. Would definately return again.
We have just come back from a holiday here , location was superb , and the kids 3 & 7 loved it ,we didn't really use the facilities on the site apart from the last day we went swimming. The location was in easy access to many other places, we took a boat on the broads, and would highly recommend taking the kids to Bewilderwood with plenty of trees it was a great option for a hot day and there was plenty to do. The location of the caravan was great with the sea right next to it. We would defiantly go again.
We had a great time at yew tree cottage. We were a bit worried about the steep stairs as we have very young children but they were fine and asked if they could have stairs like that in their house . The cottage was beautiful and it was spotlessly clean. The coffee machine, dvds and board games were a great hit for the whole family. The location was amazing. Parking was a a bit of a pain with two young children. We arehoping to book for next year as we all loved it. Thank you
The accommodation is fantastic. A great kitchen, dining and outside space, comfy sofas and lovely bedding with good beds. The location is perfect for a walk to the beach and a choice of pubs! We would go back in a flash.
We had a lovely holiday at the Three Tuns. The cottage was beautiful and the location great for both coast and country. Nice garden for eating outside. Private parking was a bonus. All in all a wonderful holiday.
A fantastic place to relax and unwind in a beautiful property. Host are most helpful. Would go again.
Fantastic cottage in a great location. The accommodation was very very clean with all mod-cons thought of and provided. Plenty of room for all the family and a real home from home. Hidden away in a lovely quiet location. Village is perfect for exploring North Norfolk's fantastic beaches and villages. All in all a super place to stay.
Owlets looked lovely from the pictures but when we got there it was even more perfect. It's a beautiful rental, in immaculate condition, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It has everything you could possibly want, all set out so it's easy to find. We were a party of four adults and two children. The space worked perfectly, all of us having comfy bedrooms, plenty of bathroom space and the open plan downstairs was great for all of us. The boot room was very appreciated after a day at the beach! The garden is a lovely sun trap in the evening and perfect for sitting with a glass of win...more
Very unusual very well converted building.Ideal for large families with lots of separate areas. Every piece of equipment was there which made life a lot easier cooking for hungry children The location was ideal with several good pubs within walking distance We would certainly recommend this property Beautiful top quality bed linen and towels Under floor heating was very welcome on cold mornings
Comfort/style-exactly as advertised-we had a great week. Our 6th stay in Thornham, this the best property
Beautiful, comfortable, spacious cottage. The location is perfect, access to the water and walks was wonderful, a birdwatchers heaven, we even sat watching a 'local' kingfisher who visited on several occasions. Loved the aga & it was difficult to move ourselves away from the spectacular views from those gorgeous big windows. We would return again & again to this tranquil cottage!
We had a brilliant week at May cottage, helped by glorious weather. We are regular visitors to North Norfolk and found South Creake to be in a great position for exploring (by car). The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with plenty of room, especially upstairs. The garden was very pretty. We thought it excellent value for money.
We had a wonderful stay at Beachcomber, excellent location close to the beach and a home from home. The house is lovely, great layout for families and provides you with everything you need. The added touch of the basket of goodies was greatly apppreciated. We would love to visit again.
We loved the little extras, like slippers and bathrobes! Having a really securely-fenced garden was great. The property was extremely clean when we arrived, and the owners were very helpful with dealing with a problem whilst we were there. Having no dishwasher was a shame (but we knew about that before we arrived). Great location, the King William IV pub is fantastic and it was handy to nip to the Co-Op in Snettisham for groceries. Two things we would have liked to change - the duvets were too thick and it would have been nice to have lightweight summer ones as an option as we all roasted (...more
We had a fabulous stay in Orchard Cottage this summer. It was a home from home. We've been visiting Norfolk for the last 6 or 7 years and for the last five with our two young boys. This was one of the best cottages we've stayed in yet both for the quality of the cottage and for the location. Our big bugbear on holiday is rubbish knives and small thin towels neither of which were an issue here. It was equipped with everything we needed and had a really good shower, a full size bath and thick new towels. The owners have clearly thought about their guests comfort. I would highly recommend a visit...more
The best holiday house we have ever stayed in! Spacious, comfortable and very-well-equipped. The only problem was that somehow the house had not been cleaned or our arrival. A phone call to Norfolk Hideaways quickly sorted it, and a cleaning team arrived very quickly to do the job spotlessly! The garden was ideal for 3 young grandchildren and being South-west facing, perfect for sunny afternoon and evening alfresco dining. We would definitely recommend Anchorage to everyone!
This was our second time at Bramley and we will go back again. We love the open plan living and the fact that everything is on one floor. The plot is big which means the garden at the back is a great size and is mainly grass which is ideal for our two young children to run around. The accommodation is clean and very well equipped.
Fabulous location, beautiful garden and access to some lovely walks through the meadow and onto the marsh. Lots of room both in the property, which is full of character, for all the family and dog and also lots of parking space. The pub was also a bonus extremely good food and dog and baby friendly. A great week.
Lovely place and lovely people. Seating was not very comfortable but ok. My only comment really is that the paddock ( for dogs ) would have been better fenced as there were hens, geese etc and I darent let the dogs out for a wee unless on long lead. There was the decking but very limited.
We had a great stay at Flint House over Christmas. The accommodation was ideally located and very well equipped. Had no problems using the kitchen to prepare Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Every day we would open the curtains and be taken aback by the amazing views that Flint House commands. We found the village extremely friendly with everyone saying hello or good morning. The pub and tea rooms are well worth a visit and my 9 year old loved the castle and priory.
Walnut Cottage is so charming, filled with interesting furniture/furnishings. This was our second visit, and would definitely book again. Though not right next to the sea, its location is near enough to the quay, shops and pubs of Wells to be ideal. Wells itself is lovely, and a good base for visiting the north Norfolk coast.
Swan cottage is a beautiful home, it has all the amenities you could possibly need. We had a great week weather wise so the pool was used daily. A Tawny owl visited the garden most nights and star gazing is amazing with there being no light pollution.
We had an excellent weeks holiday which accommodated three generations very happily. Grandchildren particularly impressed with toys and books. So thank you
We have recently returned from a wonderful week at Fulmar. The house was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped for a family holiday. The beach hut that comes with the property is a real delight and made our holiday so special and a lot of fun. We would highly recommend this property.
Great house for a family holiday on the North Norfolk Coast. Well equipped and with plenty of space for members of the family to be doing different things in different rooms.
This is a beautiful property in lovely gardens. We felt at home straight away. Comfortable, clean and welcoming. We would definitely recommend Cheney Hollow. Our little dog loved it too and settled from the first day. The welcome goodies box is a lovely touch. Good walks to the beach and into Hunstanton and local shops and pubs.
The cottage is set in a lovely spot. The owners were more than helpful whenever I asked a question. The garden is small but pretty, and dog-proof. The parking is great. The wi-fi connection is first rate. The reason for "Good" in the" Comfort" box is only because I hate low-back sofas and chairs. This .is not reflection on the furniture, which was obviously new, just me and wanting to put my head back when reading. This will probably be my last trip to Norfolk after many years and I think it has been an excellent last trip.
Lovely cottage providing surprisingly spacious accommodation. OK you are not on the coast but it is only a short drive, and if you accept that the location is fine. Great views from the garden room and patio. The cottage is well presented and on the whole well equipped. It was clean and the bed clothes and towels were to a high standard. Kitchen was well equipped and I enjoyed cooking there. We were only there three days so we did not try the washing machine or dish washer. The cottage does not really have parking but there was space outside the properties diagonally opposite where the ...more
Lovely cottage, very tastefully furnished and decorated, with everything we could need for our weekend stay. Parking was not great but that did not detract from a most enjoyable weekend. Ideally situated to reach the coast, Burnham Market etc. Would stay again
Grove House is well situated and not being in the centre of Wells allows more living space and adequate parking for cars. The Coop provides for good shopping nearby as we tended to eat in a lot. The only shortcomings were that finding an empty butane gas cylinder on the barbecue we were unable to easily locate a replacement. Although you advised this was stored in the garage this was not apparent from the instruction manual, Reverting to the cooker we found it became very hot and at one point switched itself off. The cooker needs attention or replacement. There were inadequate large pots and p...more
Lovely little house for a family holiday. Close to towns and attractions, not too far from beaches and Norwich. Very welcoming owners live next door so there to help but careful not to be intrusive. We enjoyed our week and would go back.
We loved this tiny cottage and felt like home from the first day on! Well equipped , tasteful furniture , lovingly decorated and very clean! Nestled in a backyard, there are just a few steps to coastal path and you can explore the beautiful surroundings of cley.
Great house, best we have stayed in since we started holidaying in Norfolk. Really super clean and comfy and wonderful decor. Kids room was just perfect and so were the little kid friendly touches throughout the house. Thornham is a great village with amazing pubs and close to our favourite beaches of old Hunstanton and Brancaster. Will definitely book again. But could we have better weather next time please!!
All absolutely splendid from first to last. The only fly in the ointment was the proximity to the crossroads - rather - sometimes very noisy when sitting in the beautiful garden. We shall return!
Knot cottage is a lovely place to stay with everything you need for a week away. Close to pubs and nearby shops.
Beautiful location and the best cottage we have had the pleasure to stay in. Extremely comfortable bed and sofa with high quality kitchen accessories and everything one could possibly need. Lovely touch of welcoming you with a bottle of wine and nibbles and even bath robes were available! Shower was powerful and hot and bed linens and towels were of a good quality. Overall, this is an excellent cottage and felt very welcoming - would love to stay here again.
The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. The hanging space for the main bedroom is located behind one of the beds in the other bedroom which took a few moments to locate! The living room was very cosy and even in August, the log fire was very welcome! The only downside was that the shower is only a hand-held type fixed to the taps. Without any wall fixing and no shower curtain or screen, it made it a little awkward to use for washing hair or just to have a shower rather than having to use the bath. Didn't detract much from the overall comfort of the cottage and was our only gripe.
Impressive house, initial impressions were 'wow'. Very comfortable, luxuriously presented. Liked the additional welcome touches. Loved the huge American style fridge freezer!
This is the second time we've stayed at Cush's Covert and this year didn't disappoint. We were very pleased to have large pool towels provided this time in addition to fluffy white bath towels. The pool really is lovely and if you get good weather like we did it's like having a villa with a pool in Spain! There is so much other outside area to use too, my little grandson loved the wooden wendy house. The welcome pack provided is generous including wine, butter, bread and milk. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped for about 20 people, nothing is left out. I can't recommend this property...more
I stayed for 3 nights in this delightful little cottage. Upon arrival I found the cottage to be full of character and extremely clean. The welcome gifts were much appreciated and there was everything you need to know about the cottage in a handy fact file. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The stairs were a little steep but that's exactly what you'd expect to find in a cottage of this age, however less mobile customers might struggle. I loved my stay and found the location of the cottage was perfect for me with a delightful pub a short walk away and o...more
We stayed here with our family of 6 adults and 1 child and 3 toddlers. The house is beautifully decorated and has a warm and welcoming feel. We loved the modern art, mixed with personal objects and photos around the house, and the lovely choice of textures and colours. The children loved to walk on all the different rugs with their bare feet. The bathrooms and bedrooms have been arranged in such a way that no one disturbed anyone else. The house is extremely spacious so that we never felt that we were on top of each other, but there was a lot of room to be together when we wanted. The kitc...more
Cottage and location was perfect for our needs which was local to lots of places we visited. The cottage itself was brilliant and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed, comfy beds, large lounge with comfy settee`s and beautiful fireplace and the large conservatory was ideal for having breakfast etc in the lovely mid morning sun. The hounds loved every minute of our stay because the garden was a different adventure for them every day. But one of the best part`s for me was the kindness of the owner of which i am eternally grateful because i left my hearing aid (£525`s wo...more
Very good accomodation for six of us and two dogs. Everything one might need provided including matches and kindling for the wood burner. Welcome pack was greatly appreciated. Comfortable sitting room. Double beds rather small. The bin in the kitchen is too small. A proper outside washing line would be VERY helpful. This was our second visit and we would certainly return. The owners seem to have covered most things very well.
We have just returned from a weeks stay at Gulls Nest and it is located perfectly for enjoying all that Wells has to offer by foot but also a good base for the entire north Norfolk coast. The bed in the main bedroom is a little on the small and firm side but other than that Gulls Nest is perfect. It has everything you need for a peaceful getaway.
Angel cottage is an absolutely first class getaway in Norfolk. The property is both spacious and cosy with fabulous outside space in which to relax and entertain. The owner is extremely helpful and keen to ensure that your stay is an enjoyable one. Great Walsingham is an idyllic and exceptionally quiet location with a number of memorable features such as the beautiful little Orthodox Church and the ford crossing. The north Norfolk coast is only a few miles away and there is no shortage of interesting places to visit. We had a most enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to recommend Angel cottag...more
Hare cottage was perfect for us, one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in, with all the facilities we needed and above all very well kept and clean. The two bedrooms are of a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The location in a small village away from the coast may not suit everyone, but we found no disadvantage because it is easy on relatively traffic free roads to get to Fakenham for shopping, or to Wells for the beach. The cottage is in a small terrace with fields behind and is absolutely peaceful. In August all letting prices are high, so our rating in terms of va...more
Very comfortable house. Particularly enjoyed the conservatory , watching the garden birds and bats. The house was spacious although the kitchen area was a little small for practical purposes, not much workspace but I'm sure most people eat out! All other rooms were very well proportioned. In a beautiful area and we would definitely like to visit Saltmarshes again. Some comfortable garden furniture would be a welcome addition. We have stayed in other similar size houses in Holme but I think this was our favourite .
This was such a comfortable, spacious and beautiful cottage in which to stay. Fabulous living room in which to relax, and lots of games (and space in which to play them!) for children. Bedrooms were large and light, and garden had lots of room to play and explore. Heacham itself is a lovely village, with a real community feel. The beach was a 15 minute walk away, with glorious sunsets.
The accommodation suited us perfectly Light and airy We liked the location quiet and easy to park and no stress with this
This is an absolute gem. The studio has been very thoughtfully planned, the fixtures and furnishings are of excellent quality and the bedding is luxurious. The bonus is The Lookout/Summer House by the lakeside which is also furnished and very peaceful. I had a fantastic week's weather (hottest June) but I can imagine that in different seasons, this is a cosy retreat after visiting the coast and the many attractions in this area.
Really clean cottage full of everything we needed and very close to everywhere we love to visit. Our second stay in this cottage and hopefully not the last.
The apartment was lovely, very clean and well equipped. However there was no tea or coffee as had been stated on the information and there was a very nice coffee machine but no discs to go with it or any shops nearby that stocked them. Also no dishwasher tablets, not that we needed them for our short stay, but someone else staying longer might do. It sounds like all I'm doing is complaining but in fact the apartment was absolutely great and these are only little things that might improve someone else's stay a little. The views over the harbour were brilliant and my parents enjoyed watching ...more
Immaculately clean and comfortable. Exceptionally comfortable bed. Nice quiet location. Village pub 4-6 minutes walk away serving great food and extremely dog friendly. Heacham and snetherton beaches 3-3 miles away are both dog friendly. Hunstanton is just a couple of miles away and is a busy seaside town. The beach here is not dog friendly, but to be honest It's not a great beach.
Fantastic location, so near to everything but with a lovely, quiet seating area perfect for a sunny evening
Positives: good location just a minute from the main street, very clean, and beds were really comfortable. Negatives: no parking so have to pay £28 a week in main car park around the corner and finding a space can be tricky. Washing machine is ineffective. Second bedroom (two single beds) where the children slept had ineffectual blind so they woke every day at 5am. Garden is really just a couple of meters square.
Moongazer Cottage was just perfect. Very nicely decorated and superbly equipped. Centrally located in Heacham meaning everything including the beaches were within a 20 min walk. Very quiet and peaceful with a secluded back garden. Heacham itself was an ideal base to explore the west/north coasts of Norfolk. Highly recommended.
We stayed in August with our grandsons and their parents. Ideal layout with generous facilities. Small garden but enclosed and adequate for our needs. Beds very comfortable and a high standard of decor and cleanliness. Very well equipped kitchen. The walk into Burnham is easy and mainly on back roads or paths. We know the area well so enjoyed visiting old haunts. There is lots of information in the property though if you are new to the region. The bottle of prosecco was a nice gesture. Thank you. For general groceries the village has a stores and deli, butchers, small bakery and greengrocers. ...more
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rosedale cottage. There was a lovely welcome note with chocolates and treats for our dog when we arrived. Also we appreciated the pretty fresh flowers around the cottage. We found the cottage very clean and comfortable and it was an excellent location for walks, beaches and pubs along the North Norfolk coast.
Another very comfortable and relaxing stay in this fabulous cottage with beautiful gardens. Excellent walking in surrounding areas.
We had a great time. The flat is extremely well furnished and tucked away in the attic space above a big garage so unlike many flats you do not have to worry about making too much noise and disturbing the people underneath. The main attraction of this flat is the fully extending Dormer window with a view overlooking the creek, it is not easy to find a holiday letting with any sort of view out to sea in Overy Staithes but this one is pretty good. We took our binoculars and spent many happy hours just looking at the view. The apartment was situated in the Fishers estate and Harry and Jo who ...more
Fuzzy Duck Cottage is a lovely cottage, in a great location. The cottage was clean and well equipped, with a fantastic garden, which unfortunately we were unable to use due to the unseasonably cold and windy weather! However, the cottage was warm and cosy. We would definitely stay here again, and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for the welcome pack,
This was the first holiday away with our six month old daughter and two dogs and we loved it. The cottage is small but has almost everything you could need for a weeks stay, Good location for exploring and walking distance to the pub. We look forward to returning in the future
We really enjoyed our stay at Curlew Cottage. Good location as so near beaches ( 5 mins to nearest, and 10 to Old Hunstanton beach which is gorgeous, and the lovely King William 1V pub! Also 5 mins drive to Norfolk Lavender! Was fab that we could take our dog. The only down side was that you couldn't easily access the garden from the house as it is behind 2 gates and our dog squeezed under the gate to the main road easily!!! So had to be very careful going out to the car! You do hear a lot of traffic noise in the house - but get used to it! Very comfy beds, lovely bathroom. Cosy, comfy lounge...more
Thornham is probably the nicest village on the north Norfolk coast. Willow House is a traditional style Norfolk property with a very contemporary feel and in easy walking distance of 3 very good pubs/restaurants and an excellent delicatessen (next to the impressive Village Hall and playing fields). The house is very spacious. On entering, there's a comfortable reception room on the left which doubles as a boot room or somewhere you can go for a bit of peace and quiet. The lounge is huge with sky tv and a cupboard full of board games. The kitchen/diner is modern and with plenty of storage spa...more
Had a good week and enjoyed our stay, but not as expected. Bedrooms 2 nd 3 cramped, garden parsimonious and no washing line, no bath, showers dirty and one had faulty door. But these are minor niggles: just not as we have come to expect of the very high standard set by Norfolk Hideaways. Would not recommend this cottage without some improvements in the areas mentioned, but I gather this property is sold and may not be let again?
As soon as we parked the car and entered the apartment we all fell in love with it . It was like home everything was there .We took our grandaughter with us aged 5 she chose the yellow bedroom used the dressing table as a desk she played school. It is well located near the quey and the best fish and chips we have had . We have already booked the apartment for next year
This was a wonderful place for a multi generation family holiday. Although we had a few issues they were quickly resolved and we were able to have a fantastic time. The beds were so comfortable!!! And the beach so close! A brilliant stay, would certainly recommend to anyone.
This is a high quality cottage in a great location within Thornham.Spotlessly clean, Beautiful garden, spacious rooms providing an excellent stay. We had a problem with some of the doors whilst there which after a couple of calls to the agent was rectified quite quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to others, particularly groups of friends or multi generation holidays
We both loved our stay at the Orange house studio, it was just perfect for the two of us. We have wanted to visit the north norfolk coast for years to go to all the best birding locations and our place couldnt have been better situated , we were out all day and we returned to our lovely cosy restful place.
The cottage was lovely and very comfortable. The garden was great. Only gripes were that there was no hairdryer and the lack of a welcome pack. We have rented cottages before at a cost substantially lower than Owl Cottage and been greeted with a little more than 8 teabags. As I say this is only a small gripe and as we had travelled from Northern Ireland so was a long day. Overall we enjoyed out stay and had a great holiday. Kind regards Pat Cussen
We loved the house and everything about the holiday. It was perfect for us- very spacious & well-equipped
Mow creek is a lovely cottage, the best thing is the location, just seconds from the harbour and a short distance to 2 good places to eat! The cottage is great, dog friendly, charming and quiet. We struggled to find the key to the back door but a quick phone call sorted that. Perhaps a few notes would be good for other guests. We were also told to bring towels only to find plenty there, would have saved some space in the car if we had known. However we loved Mow Creek and had a fab week!
A GREAT LOCATION FOR BOTH WALKING THE COAST AND DRIVING TO OTHER COASTAL AND COUNTRY LOCATIONS.WELL EQUIPPED, SPACIOUS FLAT IN A QUIET AREA. MANY GREAT PLACES TO EAT OR BUY PICNICS. WE TRAVELED TO GREAT YARMOUTH, HUNSTANTON THE OTHER WAY AND NORWICH INLAND. TWO OR THREE NATIONAL TRUST LOCATIONS ARE LOVELY VILLAGES BETWEEN DESTINATIONS. WE STARTED WITH THE INFORMATION LEFT IN THE FLAT. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE LIGHTHOUSE VIEW TO YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE.
We have stayed in this cottage on four occasions and have always been very pleased with the cosy and well kept accommodation, the location and distant views of the sea from the upstairs window.
Lovely accommodation furnished to a very high standard. Very clean and comfortable. A cream tea awaited our arrival which was a nice touch after the journey. Lots a great places to visit in the area. Would definitely recommend a stay at The Old Cowshed.
Having stayed in various villages with Norfolk Hideways in the past, we thought we'd venture further west at opted for Holme Next The Sea. Lovely little hamlet, most off the main road. Pear Tree Cottage is in the middle of 4 or 5 of a row of terraced cottages, opposite the pub, which were apparently converted from a barn some time ago. Cottage was fine for the 2 of us and dogs, small rooms but big enough for a holiday bolt. There were 2 addition single beds upstairs in the converted loft. Cottages has it's own attached small yard at rear and a large garden offset from the house approx. 10m ...more
Had a wonderful holiday ,Made good use of the hot tub.Boys loved the games room.Grannie,s favourite place was the conservatory, with the doors opened onto the garden such a great place to curl up with a book. The downstairs bedroom was much appreciated by an elderly arthritic! The individual en suites were a bonus.
The Stable Yard is a wonderful property. It is beautifully converted and a great space for the family to relax. We were a family of 4 adults and stayed for a week during the August bank holiday. It's a self check-in and check-out property with easy instructions from the agent prior to arrival. The Stable is extremely well decorated and had most that you'll need. It was comfortable and clean, with lots of space outside and in. Loved that we had two sitting areas and a great, well-equipped kitchen. We spent a lot of time at the house as it was so relaxing. The beds are very comfortable. We had a...more
We enjoyed a wonderful family holiday in North Norfolk staying at Curlew Cottage in Docking. Docking is ideally situated to many of the amazing beaches and the very pretty village of Burnham. Curlew Cottage was very well equipped, comfortable and had ample space for 6 of us. We would happily return again.
Ideal location enabling us to visit the fantastic beaches and beautiful little surrounding villages. Clean and pleasant house but a couple of things would have enhanced our stay further. Tiny towels and only one set each for a week. One teacloth for the week too. Light pollution coming from disused farm buildings which are a bit of an eyesore to the property. Alarm went off too. Thin curtains, no blackout blinds. Tap was loose in bathroom which resulted in a flood by end of week. Don't really want to be sorting this kind of thing out on holiday. Not enough dishes to make full use of dishwas...more
There were 8 of us and we didn't get on top of each other! The barn is lovely- it had everything we needed. I didn't want to leave. We really enjoyed the cake and wine on arrival too. It's so close to great beaches- Brancaster and Wells. We really enjoyed Burnham market too. We were told that the food in The Duck was amazing but you will need to book in advance as it's really popular. The only 'negative' was that we struggled with our rubbish as the recycling bin was full on arrival and we almost forgot to put the general waste bin out ourselves- a neighbour kindly helped us out.
We had a fabulous time at Eastgate Barn. Everything was there that we could possibly want even safe storage for our bikes. We were greeted with a bottle of wine & some delicious home made cake. Shirley was a delightful host, we felt we were in a home away from home - thank you
It was adequate for what was required!would stay there again if necessary very fond of Brancaster great place family come every year found the place ideal for what we needed would use the house agai if necessary
Excellent location, very friendly owner, great accommodation. Enjoyed playing the piano and organ in the lounge.
Had a lovely week at Daisy's Cottage, the property is ideally located on the edge of town, with several pubs and restraints within a 5 minute walk. The property is clean and very well equipped, just like being at home. It is also very comfy The courtyard is fully enclosed and a nice place to sit and have your morning cuppa in the sunshine or a nice cold beer or glass of wine in the evening. The property is very dog friendly too
Beautiful house and garden. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owners have given a great deal of thought to the furnishings/layout of the house and garden, it is a very child and dog friendly property. Wonderful space and light, garden has sun and shade all day. Beautiful walks, close to coast etc. Would definitely recommend. Our dogs loved it too !
Very enjoyable stay. Good location. Very welcoming hosts. Everything we needed was provided which was great.
New bathroom was great. Lovely garden including new patio and garden furniture. The information pack was sparse and I would recommend that a few personal little touches would not go amiss.
We have stayed at the Beach House for the last three years. It is a beautiful home in a wonderful setting close to.the beach. We would love to return next year. However the cost has gone up by over £300 which has made it no longer affordable which is very sad.
The flat did lack one or two facilities it could do with a coffee table in the lounge some form of shelving in the bathroom and the single beds are very narrow for adults
The high ceilings give the whole apartment a bright and spacious feel. As a family of four with two pre teen girls the 2nd bedroom was perfect for sharing and wifi connection consistent. The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge comfortable home from home feeling. Very close to pubs, shops and small family friendly amusement arcade (2p) games. Delicious 24 flavour ice cream shop 2min walk.
There were nine of us - six adults and three children - and Sea Watch provided all the space we needed. It was well equipped and there were beautiful paintings, prints and objects which made it visually stunning. We foolishly managed to lock ourselves out on our second day, and were rescued by a very charming member of Norfolk Hideaways staff who arrived with a key. The only problem was that the hot water and the metal taps were dangerously hot. Adults and children could scald themselves. There was no warning about this in the house folder, and we had no way of turning down the tempera...more
Set out good.comfortable.good size bedrooms.shower needs looking at as too harsh.good location and views from lounge.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fabulous property with superb walks on your doorstep. The bedrooms were all beautiful and the beds super comfy. It was so peaceful eating breakfast out on the patio in the sunshine every morning! The only down side was the sofas in the living room were uncomfortable and we missed a washing line! Would definitely recommend.
Nice quiet location within the village and a stroll to the beach, shops and pubs, also great for places nearby on and near the coast. The apartment had a relaxed feel, lovely bay window to catch the sun and was well kept. A couple of specific requests had not been met when we arrived but these were resolved quickly and without quibble so overall very happy with the service and we certainly enjoyed our stay.
Weather can be a problem in our country especially doing school holidays this place has a fabulous heated indoor swimming pool, shallow end 2ft going to 4ft at its deepest so can cover all ages. Also has a games room, large lawn for ball games. Note:- no local pub or shop but Fakenham is only a minute drive away.
A lovely cottage in a quiet village location, with lots of great places to visit right on your doorstep. The cottage was beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing break. There was a very pretty enclosed garden which was safe for children and dogs. Would recommend to families and couples who like to get away from it all.
Very nice house with off street parking for 3-4 cars an almost perfect back garden, excellent zen den with WiFi and TV. Roughly 5 minute walk to the beach and local pub. Enjoyed throughly by all the family.
Charming, cosy cottage in peaceful location. Comfy beds & sofas, a very well equipped kitchen with more than your usual "one plate per person", lots of hot water and a welcome bottle of wine and some chocs. All very enjoyable, the village is a hidden gem but somewhere we will return to.
We have been to norfolk several times now and stay somewhere different everytime. We enjoyed our stay in wells and found quay cottage very comfortable. We had an issue with the bath on our first night ( overflow pipe) not connected and therefore there was a flood throught the ceiling. This was dealt with immediatly and customer serivice was excellent. The cottage is nicely decorated and alot bigger than what i thought it was going to be. There was 6 of us 3 adults 3 children and there was ample space. very good facilities and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only down side to th...more
The house is spacious with 4 bedrooms and 2 sitting rooms ( one with a sofabed) and a large kitchen dining room. Plenty of space for 5 adults, 2 children and a baby. The village and walks by the sea are stunning. Sadly there is no view of the sea from the house which is a shame. The main view is a of the newly built house opposite which is pretty and attracts a lot of local attention. The key box system worked well. Email communication with the agency was not that helpful but someone came in person to deliver the baby items requested and they were enormously helpful and positive. The finish an...more
Stayed here several times and absolutely love the location in amongst the countryside. No traffic, dark starry night skies and lots of wildlife. Houghton Hall and its stunning gardens are on your doorstep. My husband and I always think of Hollyhock when we come to Norfolk and we have stayed in many different cottages over the years and still come back to this one in this area. It is clean, cosy and comfortable - what more can you ask.
An excellent property with a nice modern style to it Well laid out on a single level with a generous living/dining/kitchen area The owner lives in the adjacent Farmhouse and was very welcoming with a chilled bottle of wine and milk already in the fridge when we arrived Would stay here again
High quality accomodation nice touches like champagne & chocolates on arrival very spacious well presented and in a great location
Thank you for enabling us to enjoy beautiful Brooke Cottage. It just had everything .A lovely quiet retreat from the rigours of life. Ideally situated for the coast , seal trips and walking. We will definitely be back as soon as we can. Our memories keep flooding back. 100% fantastic!! Gillian Tony & Ruby (our standard poodle)X
Disappointed to find no welcoming pack of any kind. Usually a nice touch. Main seating in lounge not at all comfortable. Could do with a good sized pair of kitchen scissors.
The cottage is ideally placed within easy walking distance of the coast which suited both the adults and the dogs and the weather added to the charm of the cottage as with the evening sun shining the courtyard garden was perfect to sit with a glass of something cold and relax. overall the value for money was excellent and we would both recommend this cottage to others and book it ourselves again in the future.
Excellent location. Very quiet. Cosy layout with a lovely garden. Added plus of having a small garden room if it were to rain!
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely home, and would recommend this home and Burnham Market. We would also recommend 20 North Stree, for a fab meal!
A great house which felt a lot more spacious than expected. Lovely sheltered garden/decked area. The house had all the facilities & equipment we needed. A fabulous week.
Perfect location for visiting places of interest in the surrounding countryside , and just a short drive to many beautiful beaches. It was our second stay at Langford Cottages , and we would visit again, Layout of kitchen ,living room and bedrooms and bathrooms and enclosed garden ideal for a family with small children.
Sanderlings is a lovely house in a fantastic location. It is very well equipped with a large garden which has a gate opening onto open fields for happy dog walking! The village is on the door step with shops and two pubs. A ten minute drive takes you to beautiful unspoilt beaches - Brancaster and Holkham, in particular. What more could you need??!
The weather was amazing so this does sometimes mean that you think everything about your British holiday is brilliant. However even if it had rained every day, you could not escape the fact that this is an brilliant cottage in an excellent part of Norfolk, when we walked in and found a welcome card, beers, bottle of wine and a cake we new it was going to be a great week. The house is immaculate and a perfect location with the best local shop and the 'Gin Trap' a gin lovers paradise! We will be recommending this to our friends. We normally stay in our family holiday home in Old Hunstanton but f...more
This is a delightful place to stay. The location is truly beautiful and, on arrival, we opened the back door to the decking to see 2 swans with 6 cygnets - magic! There is plenty of space in this lovely cottage on the river and always some wildlife to see outside (swans/ducks/coots/heron). The facilities were very good, kitchen well-equipped and the bedrooms extremely comfortable. Linen and towels of good quality. Bathrooms also good with excellent shower downstairs. The log fire was a life-saver as we had one very cold day last week (remember to take your own logs with you as they are not pr...more
At the start of the holiday we had to collect the key from 'the wash house' due to the key press being broken, this was no problem it was only a few minutes out of our way. When we arrived at the beach house we had a lovely welcome gift of a bottle of wine and chocolates which was a nice touch. The rooms appeared clean but we later found a lot of dog hairs on the sofa, my daughter had navy linen shorts on which were covered when she stood up, we appreciate that the accommodation does accept dogs so we would not book a dog friendly house next time. Perhaps. the owner needs to look at the furni...more
We had a very relaxing week. The apartment is in a perfect location. Ideal to watch life go by in the harbour and very near to shops, pubs and restaurants.
A lovely, clean cottage in a very good position of Cromer. Close to town, seafront, and a good bus service for visiting other areas. Cottage extremely well stocked with everything we needed in kitchenware, a lovely garden and nice furniture. The only thing we were disappointed with was the comfort of the beds, which in our opinion were far too hard! Otherwise an enjoyable stay.
Clean, comfortable and generally well-equipped (although more cutlery, a bread bin and a few Tupperware boxes for leftovers in the fridge would have made it even better!). Nevertheless would recommend this Cottage to anyone - the location is superb and the daily parade of alpacas was an unexpected delight. The "Cottage manual", with its detailed information on all those brand new gadgets, was pretty impressive too.
You set the bar high as you tell us in the handbook that you belonging to a prestigious Quality Mark shared with e.g. Holiday Bond. This is a delightful apartment but the devil is in the detail and some details were not were not up to standard. Arrival is a downer: the front door is shabby, the bell rusty (and a dead basil plant on the step). Bedroom, bathroom and living room spotless, but cleaner needs more time to check and, if necessary, sort the kitchen: crockery piled in the cupboard higgledy piggledy, cups not very clean, also cutlery. Grill pan needed washing. One or two basic items lac...more
Spacious apartment, with a relaxing vibe, plenty of room, feels like home from home, our 4th time staying here, -along with The Lookout, a similar property one floor above. Comfortable lounge area, and bedrooms, ideal for families.
The owner of this property pays extensive attention to providing what is needed for a comfortable holiday. Well equipped kitchen, decent size TV, torches, spare batteries etc. Numerous games, dvd's, books and local/tourist information folder.
property a little tired otherwise would be excellent, would recommend on the basis of location. if had some time and money spent on it would definately return.
good value for money, however not up to your usual standard. Excellent location for visiting places of interest, I would recommend The Lifeboat Inn for evening meals good selection on the menu .
A lovely place to spend our silver wedding anniversary. It's well equipped and comfortable the garden was well secured for our two border terriers. It was like home from home and hopefully will be booking again for next year.
Though the cottage is nicely decorated there were a number of defects and broken items, some of them dangerous, which show a lack of regular inspection by Norfolk Hideaway and the owner, which is quite sad for such a potentially lovely cottage. We would love to return to this place when the standard of maintenance has been upgraded.
There were 5 couples and 5 children staying in this lovely cottage. It was really spacious, great lay out and plenty of room, storage and fridge space. We had a great time. It is also near a great pub called the Gin Trap. This is the second time with Norfolk Hideaways and we would definitely book again!
This was lovely for a long weekend and had everything we needed, Unfortunately, if you're looking for peace and quiet, this is not the cottage for you ... the cottage is side on to the road, and as such the garden is too! Sitting out is rather noisy (as the village is on the main North Norfolk coast road! Having said this, we weren't too bothered by the noise (it quietened down in the evening!), everyone in the village is lovely and really friendly and we had a great time walking on the beautiful beaches, and enjoying the village fete! The pubs were all great too!
Nice setting close to attractions very comfortable but better if lounge was downstairs and no second br Would stay again
We loved our stay great location to explore the Norfolk coast would definitely stay again no negatives with the cottage had everything we needed clean comfortable was happy to call it home for a week
We loved the boat house from the minuite we stepped into it still love looking at our pics of it only down fall with us was cars and delivery in the morning but that maybe because we are light sleepers and not early risers but would still stay there again
Good value for money very comfortable in an excellent location with a lovely enclosed and private garden
Lovely beach hut but not the sea And beach view we were expecting very spacious inside with chairs table and a small gas stove to make tea etc balcony a bit small to sit beach is amazing with a lovely cafe parking is a nightmare prepare to pay £5.00 per day
Wonderful peaceful hideaway, beautifully decorated and perfectly situated for all the Norfolk coast has to offer. Will certainly be returning
A lovely well equipped cottage provided a perfect place to relax and explore the North Norfolk coast.
Lovely clean cottage thoroughly enjoyed our stay a pint of milk and a home cooked sponge was there to greet us. Very well appointed with a handy store nearby. The only slight niggle was there was nowhere to hang clothes if you wanted to rinse something i.e. Swimming costume etc and although there is a washer dryer not everything can be tumble dried!
We stayed at the Old Bakery for one week and truly enjoyed the house. It has everything we needed for our holiday!
This is such a good place fills me with joy ,stayed twice now ,and booked for christmas.the atmosphere is is soft and pleasing.lifts ones spirit soon as you step inside.
The visitor comments without exception comment on the quality of the house and its contents and we agree with this. Sadly we found the cleaning prior to our visit disappointing. One of the men had to wipe down the worktop and move thecuting boards to clean beneath them and the ladies commented on the cobwebs in the toilets My personal gripe was the windows which had been smeared by children and looked awful in the morning sun If Iwas paying for this cleaning service I would not be happy We had a problem with the black bin which was full to overflowing but more importantly was crawling w...more
We really like this property and the location, I have to say it is beginning to look a bit worn on the interior and the furnishing. The bin in the kitchen is still broken and the heating controls are hopelessly too complicated so that customers cannot adjust the heat. I had to call out an engineer on the previous visit. now that a Cabin has been built on the Lawn that can lead to problems for kids [playing on the grass - also loss or privacy. All in all we love the location but the price is becoming too high compared to other holiday rentals. Thanks for finding our Kindle. Very good!!
Slightly tired in the living area but a lovely quiet bolt hole for a visit to Norfolk. Nice outside area in the court yard.
We found the cottage was in an excellent location and was very clean and had everything that we needed to make a very relaxing break.
We have stayed at this cottage previously but this time found it not as good, which was disappointing, as its a lovely modern house with ample amenities and a lot of thought has gone into making it so. Its in a great position, although by the main road you do not get noise invasion and if you have children there is an excellent playground over the road in the 71 club playing field. The back garden and patio are lovely, with the patio doors folding right back to open the house to the garden but let down by the over grown lawn which was almost knee high. Some minor issues with shower fan not wor...more
We stayed at the Manse for a week in May half term 2017 and had a fantastic time in North Norfolk, We have 2 young daughters who are 4 and 2 so we were attracted by the security that the Manse offers. Having electric gates was great for us as we could let the girls run around outside without fear of them suddently running out on to the road. The Cottage itself was lovely and as everyone else in the visitor book commented, very well equipped. The only request i would make is that the owner provides the option of a travel cot and high chair, as a lot of other family friendly cottages do. This wa...more
Booked on the day of arrival and were delighted to be able to get the cottage at such short notice. Norfolk Hideaways make the booking process very easy. Cottage was lovely, clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. Nice outdoor courtyard area with sunbeds and seating. Gets a good amount of sun and is nice and secure for the dogs. Good utility area for the dogs to sleep in. Good shed for bike storage and good parking. Excellent location opposite the shop which has long opening hours. On the negative side, lots of cars stopping outside at times to visit the shop, but you have to accept this and ...more
First and last is a beautifully dressed house with quite a few issues. None are major but all together leave you feeling a bit let down. Frying pan doesn't work on hob, screws sticking out of bunk beds, dirty floors, master bed too big for room, temperamental shower, and no helpful hints on how to get to the beach that's "20 mins walk away" - never did find it! Don't think we would return - it's the first and last visit. On the plus side. Norfolk is beautiful so we will be back.
I regularly stay in north Norfolk and this was a chilly house- and v basic- although there was nothing missing as such it felt very sparse - and the heaters took about 3 days to warm up the house. Just didn't feel very homely.
We were recommended to stay in Brancaster having never been there. This was a mistake as it wasn't what we expected. Although you are on the high street there are no local shops to pop to which meant we were forced to use the car on all occasions. You can walk to the beach. There is one pub in walking distance but not suitable for families with dogs. The accommodation served us well but was basic.
Cottage just outside of Docking which meant taking the dog in the car for every walk as very busy road and no paths. Bed not very comfortable. Cottage it self was well equipped and the owner very kindly left a cake and a box of biscuits for the dog.
Lovely property in a great location. Picked a fabulous week with the weather. Would definitely come again.
House and garden is very well equipped plus plenty of parking space, sitting areas and lawn. The niggles included a faulty TV (there were two others), a refrigerator with a non-working cold water dispenser, no tea pot lid. Cleanliness would have been excellent other than the cooker hood. Location was good but we had small children so the beach needed a car to be practical. For many the location would be excellent. Customer service was marked down because an alarm on the garage caused considerable disturbance for two nights. One night may have been unavoidable but not two. In contrast ...more
Fishers Lodge is in an excellent location for walking the coast path and generally pottering about by the coast. There is also a good gastro pub (The Hero) just a 5 minute walk away. I also found it a good location for bike riding as there are many gravel tracks suitable for off road riding. Holkham Hall is just a few miles away and it was interesting to visit the walled garden there to see how much progress has been made since our last visit 5 years ago. Fishers Lodge itself was very comfortable and well equipped.
We had a great week in this lovely cottage. The cottage was to a high standard and ideal for three generations, and situated in a lovely part of Norfolk. The large garden was fantastic; beautifully maintained and with lovely lawns, woodland and a zip wire at the end which was a huge hit with our children. The cottage is in a village location, and the beach was about 20 mins walk away. There are plenty of places to visit nearby as well as enjoying the garden! The kitchen was extremely well equipped, the cottage clean, homely and nicely furnished and decorated, with indoor games and plenty of...more
Our family of four really enjoyed our week's stay at 4 Harbour View! The property was comfortable and met our needs. The main reason for staying here was the excellent location within Brancaster Staithe, direct access to the coastal path from the bottom of our garden and the beautiful views straight onto the marshes from the rear bedroom windows. Although there were a number of minor maintenance issues, these were dealt with promptly and efficiently. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to others and look forward to staying here again, hopefully next year!.
Overall a great little cottage in a good location, although the road was a little noisy at night. Great secure courtyard and garden, very dog friendly. Loads of local info in the cottage and a friendly introduction in the welcome folder from the owners. Our only feedback would be that sufficient supplies should be provided for a week's stay, we were left 2 thirds of a toilet roll and 3 dishwasher tablets which, compared to similarly priced holiday let's in the area, we felt was poor. Some of the kitchen equipment was a little tired, I'd definitely suggest a new trying pan. Finally when staying...more
We had a lovely week at castle house. To expensive for a return visit. Location was perfect. The house itself is ineed of a lick of paint, every room is tired.
We found Nooky House very well equiped and felt welcome there. The location cannot be improved. We found a certain amount of dust which is possibly inevitable in a 'beamed' house but the sofas, particularly were not that comfortable and poorly arranged for viewing the TV. The 'joy-stick' tap on the wash-hand basin comes very near the eye when bending to rinse one's face! Otherwise everything was perfect.
Lovely ground floor property with sheltered garden, just off the hard at Overy Staithe. Plenty of space in bedrooms and lounge/diner. Well appointed and comfortable bathroom. Plenty of parking outside. Kitchen is small and basic with limited space to store shopping. Good if you're planning on eating out mainly but may be limiting if you plan to shop once then cook at home. Decoration is simple but clean and modern with some traditional / quirky pieces. Overy is a beautiful location. Don't go if you want a traditional beach resort on the door. You face a 30 minute walk to the beach...more
Advantages: great location, nicely furnished. Disadvantages: much smaller inside than the impression given in photos, dark, no washing machine. Parking for one car only directly outside the front door (or the neighbours get upset). Summary: a washing machine should be a "given" in a modernised cottage at this price point. However, the location is fab and makes up for these shortcomings.
Great property for older folks as has 2 downstairs bedrooms, and 2 upstairs. Also in a great location close to beach. Only minor issue was the cleanliness of the property as lots of spiders and webs throughout, an easy fix with a chat to the weekly cleaning staff/company.
All good. One change that is possible: Create a dedicated guest area outside xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
We had a week’s holiday at Duck Cottage at the end of July and would thoroughly recommend it! The cottage is very cosy but surprisingly spacious – idea for our 3 little girls to play hide and seek in! They also loved the toys and books in the cottage that had been left for them to play with. The cottage is very comfortably but stylishly furnished – the big comfy beds were lovely at the end of busy days spent outdoors. The kitchen is really well equipped and it was great having a separate utility area with WC, sink, washing machine and microwave. The enclosed garden is charming and again ve...more
Accommodation was good for 5 adults, 1 child and 4 dogs. Noise from the road, school and church clock was excessive. Garden was dog-friendly and safe but very overgrown (a rose bush grows over the lounge window) and uncared for - loose bricks on raised flower bed, the garden furniture was scruffy and the barbeque was dirty. The mattresses on the bunk beds were worn and uncomfortable and there is no lock on the bathroom door! The welcoming pack was a nice touch but, for the cost of the property, it was rather expensive taking in the faults mentioned. Title of review stopped at 17 words!! Gen...more
All my family enjoyed our short Easter break at Rockaway, very comfort, like home from home, we look forward to returning sometime again this year.
good location, perhaps the windows could be improved as we could not see clearly through them. the two sofas were rather uncomfortable, otherwise very good
Paid premium rate £1200 - £1300 for school holiday weeks then (after deposit and balances fully paid up front) found out that NO TOWELS would be provided - NONE - bath towels, face towels, bath mats - NONE!!! On making enquiries to verify, discovered that the tick box informing potential guests had previously been removed. On phoning Norfolk Hideaways was placated with the fact that "at least there was a washing machine" and other properties on the North Norfolk coast did likewise - OH REALLY - come on Norfolk put this right!!
The house could do with a good clean (rubbish under the beds & a lot of cobwebs) and a de-clutter, especially the kitchen. The two fridges & some pans had to be cleaned before use. There was old food left in one of the drawers. One fridge still froze food probably because the door did not shut properly - door needs adjusting. Crockery was hard to reach. There was not enough food storage for nine people - we had to empty one of the cupboards to the garage. The recycling bin needs a new instruction label. In spite of all this we enjoyed our stay in Norfolk and would recommend this property with...more
This is the second year we have stayed at Winchelsea. It makes an ideal holiday house for grandparents, children and grandchildren. We love the garden room, bedroom and ensuite downstairs: a quiet retreat for grandparents. The garden room is ideal for older grandchildren to gain peace from the younger ones or as a playroom for the smalls. The kitchen is very well equipped and our chef son-in-law was able to cook some lovely meals. The walk from the house to the sea is a pleasant 20 minute stroll, even at high tide, and there is access to the North Norfolk Coastal Path at the other end of ...more
Wonderful location. My absolute favourite beach. Beach Hut? Has seen better days, and could do with a make over. Cleaning is the responsibility of the renters. Not sure how often the owners visit to check equipment, catering stuff, change tea towel etc.Water container leaked, only two nuts(out of four) available to secure the window when leaving. We rented last year and there were three steps, this year there were none. No problem for us and no doubt the owners are aware of the ongoing problem!
A very comfortable and quiet little house in a good position. Excellent base for walking the Norfolk Coast Path. The Coast Hopper 'bus and nearby Co-op store very convenient.
The beach hut was clean and well presented, easy access from the steps and close to the water tap. Fabulously well equipped - mugs, kettles, cutlery etc plus chairs, wind breaks and kids toys aplenty.
The cottage bedrooms were both of a good size, and a nice big lounge, comfortable too. The kitchen however is on the small side, no dishwasher(even though tabs supplied!). The cooker could do with being updated. The bathroom was ok, is downstairs which we hadn't realised but the supplied towels were all tiny! Even for the kids! Overall we enjoyed our stay and the above are niggles. Stanhoe itself is very quiet, not much to do but we loved Norfolk and how welcoming everywhere for the dog! Beaches delightfully quiet!
Cottage cosy, very clean and everything you need for a wonderful stay near the North Norfolk Coast. Only disappointment was mattresses. Very noisy and uncomfortable. If were changed would be great quality cottage. An information pack from Norfolk Hideaways would also be good, especially where to park nearby, bins etc..
We had a week of blue skies in Brancaster and were on the beach every day. There were 6 of us, grandparents, parents, teenage granddaughters and Otto the dog who loved racing along the huge beach. It takes a good 20 minutes to walk to the beach from the house. We enjoyed taking a boat from Brancaster Staithe, visiting Holkham Hall and Burnham Market Curlew provides light and airy basic accommodation. The downstairs ensuite bedroom is particulary large and comfortable. The garden, although not scenic, is fine for dogs and small children to run around in. There were a few maintenance issu...more
Excellent location, nice garden, friendly caretakers, quiet, good walks and nice local pub serving good food. The garden house could do with a vacuum cleaner and mop for people with a dog.
Situated 15 min drive from beach, 15 min walk to shop, 30 min walk to pub. Health & safety issues: no oven gloves, no handrail on stairs, no bath mat, no non-slip mat in bath, brambles at face height on access to key box. Lounge area very dark - only one tiny window obscured by TV. No drawers in bedroom but empty set in downstairs "dog" area. We had to wash saucepans (there are only 2), crockery, cutlery and glasses before we could use them. Kitchen well equipped, furniture comfortable, bed comfortable. Decent dining area. Good central heating system. Private garden.
This was a good property in a good location, quiet, but in easy reach of all that Wells has to offer. However I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with mobility problems as the stair resembles a spiral and the treads are quite slippy. The cottage is well equipped, tho' I would have preferred 2 pillows as opposed to a rigid bolster. As mentioned by previous guests the bed is very comfortable but my husband found it too small. All in all it was a good break and I would happily recommend the property and the company who manage it
We arrived at the Wild Duck looking forward to our break. We were not impressed. There had clearly been people staying previously who had left without bothering to clean up after themselves. I contacted Norfolk Hideaways who arranged for the cleaning company to address the situation. The 2 ladies that attended commented that the situation was not acceptable and described it as disgusting. A full clean was carried out throughout the property, the two cleaners carrying out a first class job. We enjoyed the rest of the stay at this location, but will not be returning again.
The cottage is similar to most holiday cottages. Could do with a little updating in places. Parking is at the rear of the property and there's no path through the long garden which is a little tricky at night or in rain. Farm can be very busy at harvest time with a lot of farm traffic but it does add to the rural atmosphere! Cleaner is super helpful if there are problems.
One or two things listed by Norfolk Hideaways were slightly inaccurate (e.g. the woodburning stove was not a feature). Instructions for waste disposal were somewhat confusing.
Lovely cottage and in a good location. The only down side was there was no shower and the stairs were very steep. The garden also was in need of mowing. Other than that a fantastic base for a wonderful stay in north Norfolk.
We loved - cottage character - N Norfolk coastline - Binham is a cute place to stay - trying raw milk(!) and eating at good pubs. We didn't like - clutter in cottage (way too many ornaments downstairs, pushchair, high chair, too many dining chairs etc) - cobwebs and dust - felt more like a family home (way too many things in drawers) rather than a holiday cottage - living out of suitcases as storage facilities for clothes inadequate. Much better use of the built in wardrobe could be made.
This is a very small cottage for a family of 4 and a dog, particularly with regard to the cooking/dining area which is extremely small and under-equipped - no baking tray, no grater, no wooden spoons, no decent sized collender, etc. We really struggled to all sit round the table to eat. The staircase will also be quite a challenge for some. We also struggled with the TV noise from the cottage next door. I don't think the volume was particularly loud, but it came through the walls all day, all evening and into the night, keeping me awake of a couple of occasions. On the plus side, the cot...more
We enjoyed our stay in this cottage, the weather was very good and if we were to return to Norfolk we would try and book it again!
A great location for a week long break for 2. Cottage does not quite look the same as the pictures. Sofa had no cushions and rug was dark brown. We loved the bed for its size and comfort. Otherwise the overall impression is of a well-loved, if a little tired, family home.
Lovely wood burner. No instructions for heating radiators we could not turn on. No wardrobes just hanging space on back of doors. Not suitable for elderly or anyone with mobility problems. We will not be back again, and we would not recommend it to anyone else.
When booking this property we appreciated it's age and realised there would be some quirky features but we were very disappointed with the cleanliness. We have stayed in various barns, cottages and houses over many years and this is the first time we've ever had an issue with cleanliness. We did call into the Norfolk Hideaway office in Burnham Deepdale on Monday 26th September to discuss the problems with a member of staff who said she was 'very sorry' and offered to arrange further cleaning but we felt this would be too disruptive and I had cleaned as best I could anyway. She also said she wo...more
