Very comfortable cottage. Perfect location for visiting all that the North Norfolk coast has to offer.
We enjoyed our stay at Cowslip Barn. We found the hosts to be very helpful and welcoming. The Barn was equipped as described surrounded by beautiful gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Property was very spacious and comfortable and very well presented. It was well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The children loved the double and single bunk bed. We particularly liked the different dining options and enjoyed eating outside in the secluded courtyard garden. Only a few minutes drive from the beach. Happy to recommend.
Ideal location for both touring and relaxing. Very quiet village. Cottage had all the amenities you would require.
We had a great week at Angel Cottage. It is a beautifully finished, very comfortable, well equipped property, and Denise and Mike were very kind and accommodating.
I stay in Norfolk a couple of times a year visiting family and would have no hesitation in booking Hollyhock again. Everywhere was clean and fresh with all the facilities you could need. Mostly I enjoyed the peace and quiet sat out in the evenings overlooking the countryside.
I and my fiance, loved our stay at the Shepherds Hut. Everything was perfect and owners were very thoughtful. It is a beautiful place to stay close to Fakenham, 8 minutes drive, where you can get all you need. If you can't be bothered to go to town to get some food, you can get some ready meals from the freezer prepared by owners for an amazing price. It was great to get a piece of cake after our terrible journey there. We will deffinetly come back. Kristina and Neil
We stayed at the cottage over October half term, perfectly placed in a beautiful village. From the cottage you can walk everywhere around Burnham. Suitable for all our family. Our daughter age 10 loved the cottage and has asked to go back. Near Holkham, Brancaster Beach, Wells, Blakney. Everything is in the cottage you could ask for. The owner could not be more helpful. We will be staying again.
This property offered everything you could want in a let; comfortable, well laid out and more than adequately stocked for a home from home holiday. The house itself is beautifully designed (hats off to the architect) with a garden that is ideal for lazing away an evening after a days exploring or walking but not so manicured that you would be afraid the children could not play in it. On the contrary for older kids it was ideal for den building and hide and seek..!! Certainly got holiday blues on leaving but will be back for sure..!!! Highly recommend this property.
A well presented house with all required amenities for a week away with a family. Garden very well appointed just a shame we only got to sit in it once as weather awful this week. I cannot fault anything with so many areas to visit locally. Pubs, shops even fuel close by. Would certainly stay again if could be sure of the weather.
Honey Cottage was spotless when we arrived and we loved all the homely touches. This cottage is perfect for children/dogs as the garden is completely enclosed by the lockable gates on the drive. Location is superb with only a short drive to so many of the fabulous North Norfolk beaches like Brancaster, Holkham and Wells. The village pub is a few minutes walk away but be sure to book a table as they do not treat you the same if you arrive without a booking! Would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a holiday or short break to this lovely part of the U.K.
From the minute we stepped in through the door, we knew this was a very special cottage. We were greeted by the most wonderful hamper filled with all sorts of goodies including treats for the children - so thoughtful and generous! The cottage itself was cosy and homely, yet luxurious at the same time. Every room had a wide variety of books to browse through and the DVD collection was great too. There were plenty of blankets and throws, also cushions of all shapes and sizes. Toys inside and a garden for the boys to let off steam - fantastic! We stay in Norfolk several times a year and can h...more
We have recently returned from a weeks stay at The Cart Lodge and could not have asked for more perfect holiday accommodation for our first family holiday. When we arrived we were greeted and shown around the property, and we soon tucked into the delicious lemon drizzle cake. The rest of the welcome pack (tea, coffee, milk) was very much appreciated. We've stayed in many self catering cottages over the last ten years throughout the UK and The Cart Lodge is by far the most well equipped allowing us to settle in really quickly and feel at home, from the kitchen equipment to bathroom toiletries...more
One of the best holiday rental homes we have stayed in. A beautiful welcome pack which included fresh scones, clotted cream & jam along with a bottle of chilled wine was the perfect start. Everything you could need was in the house, from DVDs & games for the kids to a well stocked kitchen, quality bedding & towels and plenty of space for a family. It is in a great location in Wells, within walking distance of everything & handy to have somewhere to park the car. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to share their beautiful holiday home for a week, hope we can come back one day!
Have had a weeks holiday in Wells for several years and this apartment is the best ever. Have booked it again for next year
I needed space and Little Birches was perfect. Excellent hosts, facilities, weather -what more could you want. ! Lovely place to stay.
Great place to stay, gives all the home comforts you could need. Extremely clean and comfortable. Quiet and close to all the amenities needed. Would definately return again.
Bramley is ideal for a family holiday by the sea. Absolutely loved the house. Has a fun feel. Suited us perfectly. Very comfortable and very well equipped with everything one could want. Top quality kitchen utensils, towels, bedding etc. which is rarely found in holiday rentals. Beautifully furnished and lots of extras eg. Books, games. High chair and travel cot provided. Three generations aged from 6 months to 70s had a great time. The owner very quickly resolved an issue with the hot water which previous renters had identified. Best rental we have ever had.
Gill and David gave us a very warm welcome to an exceptionally comfortable, well equipped cottage, situated in an idyllic location and ideally suited for dogs. Helping to feed the Alpacas was a great experience - such attractive, gentle creatures! We loved the secure dog exercise area and the walk beyond up the fields either to Great Massingham or onto The Peddars Way. The Dabbling Duck in Great Massingham served very good evening food as well as afternoon tea and cake and it was good to be able to eat in the bar with the dogs. Our stay was very relaxing and we will definitely be booking agai...more
We had an amazing weekend (helped by gorgeous weather). The cottage has lots of room and was very clean and was a good location to visit the local area. It was our first holiday with our 12 month Dalmatian and he had loads of fun in the large enclosed garden. We walked on the beach at Old Hunstanton each morning (which is ideal for dogs - large area and dog friendly cafe for afterwards). We went to Heacham beaches in the evenings when it had cooled down. We took his crate so he could rest while we went out during the hot part of the day. Would recommend this cottage and we would definitely lik...more
The accommodation is fantastic. A great kitchen, dining and outside space, comfy sofas and lovely bedding with good beds. The location is perfect for a walk to the beach and a choice of pubs! We would go back in a flash.
tucked away in the village...2 minutes from the harbour.....a superb retreat from the turmoils of this rather stressful 2017 events worldwide.....open skies...sea...sun...and peace and quiet...long may it remain so..
Had looked at this cottage online several times before but always opted for one closer to the coast. Decided to finally give it a try and certainly wasn't disappointed. Exceptionally clean and well equipped. Gorgeous location with fabulous walks right on the doorstep. And not that far from the coast after all. Had a great stay
The cottage was in a great location to explore Norfolk. It was cosy, clean and well equipped. We ate in the garden and had a BBQ. Would love to use it again. It was perfect didn't want to come home. Thankyou
Set in a great location with a large secluded garden, this is a light and comfortable house with lots of character. It was always welcoming to come back to, and made for a delightful stay.
Victory cottage is a gem, home from home. It is tastefully decorated and so clean. It's location is ideally situated in the lovely village of Little Walsingham. Great pub and also convenience store. I will definitely be visiting again.
The best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. A real home away from home in a great location. Highly recommended.
Very unusual very well converted building.Ideal for large families with lots of separate areas. Every piece of equipment was there which made life a lot easier cooking for hungry children The location was ideal with several good pubs within walking distance We would certainly recommend this property Beautiful top quality bed linen and towels Under floor heating was very welcome on cold mornings
We stayed with our two kids (7 and 9) and my father. A lovely cottage with a warm, homely lounge and very comfortable beds. Great to have the wood burner and also really well located for Sandringham, Holkmam and many other places. Super cottage in a quiet location and a village that has a shop and pub. We would certainly love to go back - top notch!
Beautiful, comfortable, spacious cottage. The location is perfect, access to the water and walks was wonderful, a birdwatchers heaven, we even sat watching a 'local' kingfisher who visited on several occasions. Loved the aga & it was difficult to move ourselves away from the spectacular views from those gorgeous big windows. We would return again & again to this tranquil cottage!
Beachcomber is in the perfect position if you have a mixed age group holiday. A 2 year old and Great Grandad at 89. The close proximity of the hotel meant that the 'olds' all stayed at the hotel, and had a wonderful time visiting from time to time! The house is well equipped, spacious and a good deal of thought has gone into providing just about everything that is needed for a holday home, off the beach room very useful. We had great weather, and enjoyed the small but delightful garden and deck, lovely to be able to eat out most evenings. A lovely house.
An extremely luxurious and unique barn conversion, set in the heart of beautiful countryside. Very well equipped to meet all modern day comforts for that home from home experience. A comprehensive welcome pack was provided as part of our holiday. The accommodation is close to Fakenham, making shopping easy. Several good pubs/eating establishments within easy distance. North Norfolk coastal towns are only a short drive away. Lots to see and do in this area. If you are as lucky as we were you might even see the resident barn owl at dusk, visiting the porch. We also saw deer in the pinewoods...more
We had a lovely week here. Owlets is beautifully furnished with everything that you could possibly need- including treats (and a well used outdoor shower!) for our dog. It was the perfect place to come back to at the end of a busy day and also for staying in and relaxing. In fact, I would love to move in here permanently! It is well located for long beach walks at nearby Hunstanton and further afield at Holkham and Brancaster. A return visit is already on our list for next year. Thank you.
Anchorage was a perfect location for our North Norfolk holiday. It suited us very well accommodating three 85 yr olds as well as younger members of 2 families. The house is light, spacious and pristine with pretty much every need catered for. We particularly liked that there was plenty of crockery, glassware etc - more than enough for our party size and also just about every kitchen utensil, gadget you may need. Instructions for recycling etc welcomed. The kitchen and dining area are amazing - as to be honest is the whole house. All the bedrooms and upstairs shower/bathrooms equally beau...more
We very much enjoyed staying at Orchard Cottage. The property is quite lovely and very well appointed. Thank you for creating such a welcoming home to discover the tremendous north Norfolk coast!
Arrived at Sherbet Cottage as refugees from another cottage where the shower had failed. Norfolk Hideaways did their utmost to find alternative accommodation and directed us to Sherbet Cottage. We are so glad they did. It is a delightful cottage, well appointed, clean and welcoming. The Hideaway Garden is perfect for an evening glass of wine watching the ducks and ducklings paddle past. Very well located in South Creake, the location of the cottage makes it easy to access most of North Norfolk. The owners of the cottage have lots of recommendations to make this a perfect stay.
A wonderful short break in a beautiful cottage. Sea Holly is very well equipped, clean and comfortable. A great location to access many local attractions. We would definitely visit again.
We had previously stayed in this cottage so knew it well. It is well equipped, comfortable and makes an ideal base for a break at any time of the year.
A very well appointed cottage in a peaceful rural location. Whilst it is well equipped I thought for eight adults the fridge needed to be bigger. Possibly due to low water pressure the shower over the bath is very poor, an electric shower with pump would be much better. The enclosed outdoor space is safe and ideal for young families. All in all a very comfortable and relaxing week with glorious weather.
Fabulous location, beautiful garden and access to some lovely walks through the meadow and onto the marsh. Lots of room both in the property, which is full of character, for all the family and dog and also lots of parking space. The pub was also a bonus extremely good food and dog and baby friendly. A great week.
I stayed at Sandcastle with my two young Grandaughters in April and we had a great time. Samdcastle was beautifully clean and comfy. Very close to the beach and not too far to walk to the swimming pool and Havens amenities. The only thing I thought would have been handy was a very hints of the nearest Shops, attractions, buses etc. I will book again.
Had a wonderful welcome from John (who was very accommodating in allowing us to arrive earlier than normal check-in time!), got a tour around the barn and some helpful tips about what to do in Norfolk. Thoroughly enjoyed our freshly baked bread and delicious cake. The barn was extremely luxurious (slippers, hot water bottles and White Co. toiletries a great touch), and we were rather pleased with the chilly evenings where we could relax in front of the fire and enjoy a glass of wine. Great location with easy access to the various beaches and towns. Would definitely go back.
We had a great stay at Flint House over Christmas. The accommodation was ideally located and very well equipped. Had no problems using the kitchen to prepare Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Every day we would open the curtains and be taken aback by the amazing views that Flint House commands. We found the village extremely friendly with everyone saying hello or good morning. The pub and tea rooms are well worth a visit and my 9 year old loved the castle and priory.
Walnut Cottage is so charming, filled with interesting furniture/furnishings. This was our second visit, and would definitely book again. Though not right next to the sea, its location is near enough to the quay, shops and pubs of Wells to be ideal. Wells itself is lovely, and a good base for visiting the north Norfolk coast.
We had three nights in this lovely peaceful tranquil English cottage - it has been beautifully decorated and feels comfortable and homely - our favourite room was the reading room and we spent ages in there - sometimes just listening to the silence- not even traffic noise! Definately no easy beach access but the beautiful Overstrand beach is only a short drive away.
An excellent property for 2 people. Spotlessly clean and an incredibly comfortable bed!! Although small, my husband and I thought the accommodation was more than adequate for us.For the past couple of years we have had to pay for a second bedroom we didn't need!
We had a lovely stay in Blakeney. Fabulous convenient location near the quay for crabbing and boat trips to see the seals and a short drive to numerous glorious beaches. Lots of lovely pubs in the area to eat out and on nights where we were exhausted the kitchen at Jane's Cottage was well equipped for cooking. We all came home refreshed and happy.
We spent a week at Swan Cottage, and didn't want to leave.. The property was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfy, the showers were amazing, and the Egyptian cotton towels and bed linen were beautiful. The heated pool was a real bonus, and the gardens were gorgeous. The owners have thought of everything to ensure visitors enjoy their stay, including Sky tv, dvds, books and games. The outside area includes a pizza oven, barbecue ,fridge, bar area and lights scattered around the garden. This is by far the nicest cottage I have ever stayed in.
This house is tucked away in a quiet village hidden between houses. It was a beautiful house with plenty of space for a large family gathering. The furniture was all really good quality in every room and had obviously been well thought out. We really enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable, there was everything we needed. Every one of our party was very impressed.
Mahonia cottage is a lovely, practical cottage for families. Clean and a good layout, close to a small shop and park. Not too far to walk into Burnham Market. Good value for money.
Lovely cottage providing surprisingly spacious accommodation. OK you are not on the coast but it is only a short drive, and if you accept that the location is fine. Great views from the garden room and patio. The cottage is well presented and on the whole well equipped. It was clean and the bed clothes and towels were to a high standard. Kitchen was well equipped and I enjoyed cooking there. We were only there three days so we did not try the washing machine or dish washer. The cottage does not really have parking but there was space outside the properties diagonally opposite where the ...more
The cottage is set in a lovely spot. The owners were more than helpful whenever I asked a question. The garden is small but pretty, and dog-proof. The parking is great. The wi-fi connection is first rate. The reason for "Good" in the" Comfort" box is only because I hate low-back sofas and chairs. This .is not reflection on the furniture, which was obviously new, just me and wanting to put my head back when reading. This will probably be my last trip to Norfolk after many years and I think it has been an excellent last trip.
Grove House is well situated and not being in the centre of Wells allows more living space and adequate parking for cars. The Coop provides for good shopping nearby as we tended to eat in a lot. The only shortcomings were that finding an empty butane gas cylinder on the barbecue we were unable to easily locate a replacement. Although you advised this was stored in the garage this was not apparent from the instruction manual, Reverting to the cooker we found it became very hot and at one point switched itself off. The cooker needs attention or replacement. There were inadequate large pots and p...more
We've had a wonderful holidays at the Owl Cottage. We've got 4 kids and we could easily fit in. Garden was nice and safe for them to play around. We've also enjoyed the garden patio at dinner times. The sea and picturesque beaches were close by. And we recommend visiting the Holkam Hall.
Great house, best we have stayed in since we started holidaying in Norfolk. Really super clean and comfy and wonderful decor. Kids room was just perfect and so were the little kid friendly touches throughout the house. Thornham is a great village with amazing pubs and close to our favourite beaches of old Hunstanton and Brancaster. Will definitely book again. But could we have better weather next time please!!
We loved this tiny cottage and felt like home from the first day on! Well equipped , tasteful furniture , lovingly decorated and very clean! Nestled in a backyard, there are just a few steps to coastal path and you can explore the beautiful surroundings of cley.
All absolutely splendid from first to last. The only fly in the ointment was the proximity to the crossroads - rather - sometimes very noisy when sitting in the beautiful garden. We shall return!
We had a very enjoyable stay at 5 Ivy Barns. It was a bit tricky to find and the address number is hidden. I was surprised to discover the barn is located next to other barn cottages, so it is not really on its own; it is a semi-detached. You are very near other barns. This might be a noise concern. There were no screens on the windows and a few flies flew into the cottage. A bedroom fan would have been very nice, as I had to keep the windows shut in order to keep the bugs outside. Parking was convenient and right outside of the house. The barn was very clean and everything was n...more
The cottage was so light modern and airy.the bifolding doors were brilliant.the location was fab.nice shops and pubs.my husband loved the marshes.and we had lovley walks.we didn't want to go home.very quiet and peaceful.recommend it to any one.fab holiday.karen and graham mayo.
Excellent new property, great for walks, nature and peace and quiet Good outside space for the dogs Close to local amenities
Lovely cottage with everything provided. Good quiet location in Cley. Would recommend Middle Knoll and hope to return.
We had a wonderful stay in York Cottage. The owners have thought of everything to make it a home from home. Excellent showroom condition and one of the best holiday homes I have ever stayed it. We took our Cockapoo with us as it is a dog friendly cottage. I would definitely recommend it. Very handy to have the Spar shop just a few minutes walk away. Well placed for sightseeing. Top marks all round!!
Impressive house, initial impressions were 'wow'. Very comfortable, luxuriously presented. Liked the additional welcome touches. Loved the huge American style fridge freezer!
This is the second time we've stayed at Cush's Covert and this year didn't disappoint. We were very pleased to have large pool towels provided this time in addition to fluffy white bath towels. The pool really is lovely and if you get good weather like we did it's like having a villa with a pool in Spain! There is so much other outside area to use too, my little grandson loved the wooden wendy house. The welcome pack provided is generous including wine, butter, bread and milk. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped for about 20 people, nothing is left out. I can't recommend this property...more
I stayed for 3 nights in this delightful little cottage. Upon arrival I found the cottage to be full of character and extremely clean. The welcome gifts were much appreciated and there was everything you need to know about the cottage in a handy fact file. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The stairs were a little steep but that's exactly what you'd expect to find in a cottage of this age, however less mobile customers might struggle. I loved my stay and found the location of the cottage was perfect for me with a delightful pub a short walk away and o...more
Church Cottage was lovely, spacious, well equipped and nicely furnished. The location was perfect with views over marshes and close proximity to coastal path. The beautiful village of Thornham has much to offer with excellent pubs/restaurants.
We stayed here with our family of 6 adults and 1 child and 3 toddlers. The house is beautifully decorated and has a warm and welcoming feel. We loved the modern art, mixed with personal objects and photos around the house, and the lovely choice of textures and colours. The children loved to walk on all the different rugs with their bare feet. The bathrooms and bedrooms have been arranged in such a way that no one disturbed anyone else. The house is extremely spacious so that we never felt that we were on top of each other, but there was a lot of room to be together when we wanted. The kitc...more
We had a wonderful week at Albert's Cottage with my 90 year old father. The location was perfect as the mains street was a few seconds away and the quay a few minutes. We all loved wandering around Wells and could all have our own independence as the cottage was perfectly situated. The outside seating area was very sunny and my father spent hours sitting outside reading his newspaper. We found the cottage comfortable and parking was not a problem. A perfect week for us all.
Good value place to stay although for sleeping arrangements it would be good to provide the option of twin beds in the booking info because the king size bed is actually a zip-link twin & the apartment is a 'sleep 3' so that would be useful to know if you were 3 friends booking (as opposed to a family or a couple) which was the case with my booking. Have stayed in other places where that option is offered where the facility exists. I did phone agent to let them know a third friend would be joining but only 2 full towel sets were provided. Fortunately we were able to sort something out with ...more
My husband and I loved the cottage very clean and home from home. The Sky package was a real bonus my husband was able to watch the cricket very much appreciated and only wish more owners would consider having this in their rental properties. Plenty of secure storage for cycles very practical in the winter months with an area for jackets and muddy boots. The kitchen was very easy to use ever thing was very clean and fresh, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom excellent. The cottage was very cool which was lovely as the weather was very hot and our little Cockerpoo dog Henry was very...more
Very comfortable house. Particularly enjoyed the conservatory , watching the garden birds and bats. The house was spacious although the kitchen area was a little small for practical purposes, not much workspace but I'm sure most people eat out! All other rooms were very well proportioned. In a beautiful area and we would definitely like to visit Saltmarshes again. Some comfortable garden furniture would be a welcome addition. We have stayed in other similar size houses in Holme but I think this was our favourite .
The property was absolutely wonderful. Extremely well furnished and equipped and spotlessly clean. The garden too was well maintained despite the time of the year. Excellent attention to detail including the Office Staff when making the booking and follow up paperwork. The only thing I would comment on is it would have been nice to have had milk in the fridge on arrival. Otherwise excellent thank you.
This is an absolute gem. The studio has been very thoughtfully planned, the fixtures and furnishings are of excellent quality and the bedding is luxurious. The bonus is The Lookout/Summer House by the lakeside which is also furnished and very peaceful. I had a fantastic week's weather (hottest June) but I can imagine that in different seasons, this is a cosy retreat after visiting the coast and the many attractions in this area.
We have just returned from a weeks stay at Gulls Nest and it is located perfectly for enjoying all that Wells has to offer by foot but also a good base for the entire north Norfolk coast. The bed in the main bedroom is a little on the small and firm side but other than that Gulls Nest is perfect. It has everything you need for a peaceful getaway.
My only comment would be for a few little touches as I have always had from properties of this quality i.e.a little welcome hamper and milk in the fridge. Also very surprised and disappointed that I had to go straight out and purchase toilet rolls and a cloth for the kitchen, little things but do make all the difference.
Curlew Cottage is a nice small detached cottage with an enclosed garden to the side. The property, which is well furnished and ideally situated (being within reasonable distance of a number of coastal resorts and the local pub) stands on a road that can be busy and thus suffers a little traffic noise but that did not trouble us. The only problem that we had was that the oil central heating tank was filled the day before we arrived and as a consequence the property suffered from the smell of the oil. Otherwise we had a pleasant stay and would return.
The cottage was comfortable and well situated being opposite a coastal footpath. For the more energetic you can walk to Old Hunstanton, where the Coasthopper bus would transport you back to Thornham and the comfort of Two Hoots. If you don't feel like cooking, there are a number of good pub/restaurants, some will even cater for your canine companion. The bird /wildlife activity in the garden is captivating, providing you remember to fill the feeders - RSPB Titchwell is just down the road where seed is available. Whilst dining in the conservatory a Hedgehog visited for a drink from the...more
We spent a comfortable week at The Pilchard. Well equipped, lovely furnishings , lots of space.Excellent location ,for town ,beach ,walks A few minor points , the key safe was difficult to put the cover back on. No towels provided , I didn't check the website thoroughly enough, so was expecting towels ,we had to buy some locally. Freezer had not been cleaned out. Very fragile towel rail in the downstairs bathroom, fell apart when you touched it ,and the plate racks in the kitchen were flimsy, loose ,nearly broke a plate. Very beautiful cottage which was comfortable and in a stunning location. The host was very welcoming with delightful children who loved our dogs. The gift of wine and chocolate was a special touch. A Lovely local pub The Rose & Crown is great for food. The Old Bank also did a delicious breakfast. Local Co-op is in walking distance and stock all the essentials you may need. The beach at Snettingsham is stunning and great for walking your dogs, as is the beach at Old Hunstanton. Sandringham is also worth a visit even if you only go onto the grounds as we did with our dogs to walk them.
A second visit to this lovely cottage, so well placed for the coast and hidden away in a very quiet spot. Local restaurants provide excellent food and the shops in nearby Burnham Market provide some great browsing. Dogs are very welcome not only in the cottage but generally in the area and walking with them is a joy. We will be returning.
We had a wonderful week here at Easter. The cottage was warm, welcoming and very well-equipped.Perfect for the three generations of family celebrating there. Our grandchildren were reluctant to leave and suggested we visit every year!
Moongazer Cottage was just perfect. Very nicely decorated and superbly equipped. Centrally located in Heacham meaning everything including the beaches were within a 20 min walk. Very quiet and peaceful with a secluded back garden. Heacham itself was an ideal base to explore the west/north coasts of Norfolk. Highly recommended.
Positives: good location just a minute from the main street, very clean, and beds were really comfortable. Negatives: no parking so have to pay £28 a week in main car park around the corner and finding a space can be tricky. Washing machine is ineffective. Second bedroom (two single beds) where the children slept had ineffectual blind so they woke every day at 5am. Garden is really just a couple of meters square.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Hideaway particularly as we enjoyed beautiful weather throughout the week we stayed there. The house and garden were lovely and met all of our requirements. The owners provided everything we could possibly have wanted and should be commended for the cleanliness of the property and their attention to detail. The layout was ideal as one of our party has limited mobility. We would definitely recommend it to our family and friends. We loved Burnham Market and the surrounding areas and will definitely return, hopefully sooner rather than later.
We had a great time. The flat is extremely well furnished and tucked away in the attic space above a big garage so unlike many flats you do not have to worry about making too much noise and disturbing the people underneath. The main attraction of this flat is the fully extending Dormer window with a view overlooking the creek, it is not easy to find a holiday letting with any sort of view out to sea in Overy Staithes but this one is pretty good. We took our binoculars and spent many happy hours just looking at the view. The apartment was situated in the Fishers estate and Harry and Jo who ...more
We had a lovely stay in the cottage. Very well equipped for a short stay. Accomadation was let down by lack of storage in 2nd bedroom. All rooms are of a good size. The village has a lovely pub, which serves good food and staff are very friendly, and a small shop, but be aware that is closes at 1 o'clock on Mondays .
Another very comfortable and relaxing stay in this fabulous cottage with beautiful gardens. Excellent walking in surrounding areas.
This cottage was well situated for what we wanted for a 5 day break. It was clean, comfortable and we all slept well as the beds were very comfy. The local pubs offered a good choice and all within a nice walking distance. the walk out to beach early morning meant we were the only people there. Big Sky Country....can't beat it. would be happy to stay there again.
Fuzzy Duck Cottage is a lovely cottage, in a great location. The cottage was clean and well equipped, with a fantastic garden, which unfortunately we were unable to use due to the unseasonably cold and windy weather! However, the cottage was warm and cosy. We would definitely stay here again, and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for the welcome pack,
We enjoyed a lovely week at Quay Cottage in July 2017. The cottage was clean, furnished to a high standard and very well equipped. The cottage is in a great location, close to the playground, quayside and Staithe Street shops. We would highly recommend this property and hope to return next year.
We had a lovely restful break last week. The apartment is our home from home, this being our 3rd visit! Despite the wintry weather we were warm and comfortable indoors and we're reluctant to return home.
I would have liked to have had summer duvets on all the beds. The Bar-B-Que was not suitable for 14 people.
We both loved our stay at the Orange house studio, it was just perfect for the two of us. We have wanted to visit the north norfolk coast for years to go to all the best birding locations and our place couldnt have been better situated , we were out all day and we returned to our lovely cosy restful place.
Had a lovely 4 day break at Sea Wind. The accommodation was excellent clean and very comfortable my wife daughter and pet dog had a memorable stay. The coast line around this area is fantastic we walked for miles taking in the sights, after a good day out it was nice to relax in the spacious living room, our pet dog Odie loved the enclosed garden too. We would very much consider coming back in the future.
Lovely accommodation furnished to a very high standard. Very clean and comfortable. A cream tea awaited our arrival which was a nice touch after the journey. Lots a great places to visit in the area. Would definitely recommend a stay at The Old Cowshed.
Absolutely wonderful house and garden, we didn't want to leave. We all would like to live here forever. The house is large enough for big families but cosy enough to make you all feel welcome. The garden was really great and secure for our 3 grandchildren to play in, they absolutely loved it. The TV in every bedroom was a bonus as it wasn't mentioned in the details. There was everthing you could ever need with extra touches which we much appreciated. You won't be disappointed if you stay here. The kids took over the conservatory and loved the toys and books. There was 3 families in ou...more
We loved our week at the cottage, we hit very lucky with the weather and could take advantage of lots of lovely walks and time on nearby Brancaster beach. The area has everything you need close by with a shop and 2 good pubs within walking distance. We had lots of trips out and visited Holt for shopping, Holkham for the beautiful beach and Wells next the Sea for fish and chips. Just to note we had no wifi during our week, and although the cottage is at a high standard downstairs, the bedrooms I felt are due new furniture and bedding as is the garden furniture. This wouldn't put me off retu...more
first of all score out of 10 - would give it 8 1/2 stayed the week with our grandchildren - location , could not be better - close to hunstanton, farmer fred`s ( great for the grandkids) near heacham and very easy to get to the beach - the cottage was well equipped, garden (enclosed) safe for the grandkids, the cottage was very clean and tidy and comfortable. excellent shop opposite, sold every thing from fish fingers to craft beer( I enjoyed the ADNAMS broadside ) the local pub - GIN TRAP - 5 minute walk - very good pub ( but a bit lacking in the play area for kids ) to explain the scor...more
This was my second long weekend at Froggy Cottage and enjoyed it even more than last time (might partly be due to the weather allowing us great barbecues in the garden). The cottage is excellently equipped, beautifully presented, clean and comfortable. The little food gift pack upon arrival is a kind touch too. Garden well secured for dogs and has good furniture in. Many thanks - we WILL be back again.
Having stayed in various villages with Norfolk Hideways in the past, we thought we'd venture further west at opted for Holme Next The Sea. Lovely little hamlet, most off the main road. Pear Tree Cottage is in the middle of 4 or 5 of a row of terraced cottages, opposite the pub, which were apparently converted from a barn some time ago. Cottage was fine for the 2 of us and dogs, small rooms but big enough for a holiday bolt. There were 2 addition single beds upstairs in the converted loft. Cottages has it's own attached small yard at rear and a large garden offset from the house approx. 10m ...more
A very well presented holiday home cleaan. Comfortable and well equipped close to the beach and a nice stroll into town
We booked a last minute long weekend away and found a delightful old house with a lovely character. Rooms were well decorated and clean and the host made it special with some wine and cake. Close to the village and shops made it a convenient location but sufficiently peaceful. Would return no question :-)
Lovely location. Quiet village , A very nice Landlady , Shirley ☺☺ who made you very welcome . Would certainly visit again.
All in all a good week with family and our elderly mother. Cottage was lovely and clean and much bigger than I thought downstairs. Bedroom downstairs was a bonus. only 2 things that I would improve Only one set of wardrobes in main bedroom..... We was disappointed with the garden and patio would have liked somewhere nice to sit and maybe have a BBQ.....
A lovely property that had plenty of room for the whole family. Nicely maintained and cared for. At this time of year a few more logs for the fire would have been nice but as it was a warm property in general they were a nice extra. Would recommend and with luck will try and get back there.
Beautiful house and garden. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owners have given a great deal of thought to the furnishings/layout of the house and garden, it is a very child and dog friendly property. Wonderful space and light, garden has sun and shade all day. Beautiful walks, close to coast etc. Would definitely recommend. Our dogs loved it too !
Had a lovely week at Daisy's Cottage, the property is ideally located on the edge of town, with several pubs and restraints within a 5 minute walk. The property is clean and very well equipped, just like being at home. It is also very comfy The courtyard is fully enclosed and a nice place to sit and have your morning cuppa in the sunshine or a nice cold beer or glass of wine in the evening. The property is very dog friendly too
New bathroom was great. Lovely garden including new patio and garden furniture. The information pack was sparse and I would recommend that a few personal little touches would not go amiss.
A very pleasant comfortable cottage within walking distance of the beach. Nice outdoor area at the back secure for dogs and very convenient for meals at the ship
The flat did lack one or two facilities it could do with a coffee table in the lounge some form of shelving in the bathroom and the single beds are very narrow for adults
The Music Room is just as described and being located in Thornham, is ideally located for a holiday exploring the North Norfolk coast. The studio area is large, double height, and very unique - piano or organ players will feel right at home! The kitchen is well equipped and of a decent size. The accommodation is ideal for those with well behaved dogs having tiled or laminate floors and a large wet room. The hosts live in the house close by and are very helpful and happy to answer any questions about the facilities or local walks. We (Cassie the dog and me) had a wonderful week here an...more
Had a very enjoyable weekend at Sea Watch. Lovely house, perfect for six adults and four children. Great location for beaches, crabbing etc. Very good pub/restaurants within easy reach. We would definitely return
Honeystone is in the perfect location for the beach and local pubs. It is nice and clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and we will be booking here for our next stay in Old Hunstanton.
This is truly a very comfortable property to stay in. It is very spacious, light and airy. Excellent supply of dishes, utensils and even sandwich boxes. Beds were very comfortable although could have benefited from lighter tog quilts in the double and twin rooms - we were very fortunate to have hot weather. The quilt in the master bedroom was excellent. Towels were lovely throughout. Would have been nice to have a radio in the kitchen when having our breakfast. Lots of information on local attractions, walks and places to visit. No need to take maps they are available in the property....more
Had a lovely weeks stay at the Warren . House and garden in very good condition . The property was very clean and well maintained. The use of the hot tub was nice but required a lot of maintenance. Not sure it was worth the stress. Would definitely book the Warren again. One of the nicest holiday homes we have stayed in.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in House Martin cottage. The cottage is cosy and comfortable and we particularly enjoyed watching the blackbird family in their nest by the front door. Thornham has the most amazing beach and wildlife, a beautiful area.
Spacious apartment which was well equipped. The beds were very clean and comfortable. There is secure car parking, well situated for the town centre and all of its amenities Would highly recommend this apartment
Lovely house, lovely position, lovely Wells. Everything we needed was provided and what a nice view out of the lounge window! I left an item behind and it was kindly posted on by the owner straight away, thank you!!
An excellent property with a nice modern style to it Well laid out on a single level with a generous living/dining/kitchen area The owner lives in the adjacent Farmhouse and was very welcoming with a chilled bottle of wine and milk already in the fridge when we arrived Would stay here again
Willow Lodge was an excellent base for our 3 generation family gathering. Lots of space for our Grandchildren to play and more importantly a bathroom for each bedroom! We have visited Thornham a few times as it is an excellent base for coastal walks, beaches and has a great playground next to the deli.
Cottage is extremely well equipped and the garden is lovely....perfect for 2 dogs. The only niggles were that as both my hubby and I are tall the headroom upstairs is a little restrictive and if you have a large car the access to the parking area is a bit 'tight' but overall we ŵould thoroughly recommend the cottage, we had a lovely time (except for the 3 days of rain). We would be very happy to holiday at the cottage again.
Very nice house with off street parking for 3-4 cars an almost perfect back garden, excellent zen den with WiFi and TV. Roughly 5 minute walk to the beach and local pub. Enjoyed throughly by all the family.
The house is spacious with 4 bedrooms and 2 sitting rooms ( one with a sofabed) and a large kitchen dining room. Plenty of space for 5 adults, 2 children and a baby. The village and walks by the sea are stunning. Sadly there is no view of the sea from the house which is a shame. The main view is a of the newly built house opposite which is pretty and attracts a lot of local attention. The key box system worked well. Email communication with the agency was not that helpful but someone came in person to deliver the baby items requested and they were enormously helpful and positive. The finish an...more
Nice quiet location within the village and a stroll to the beach, shops and pubs, also great for places nearby on and near the coast. The apartment had a relaxed feel, lovely bay window to catch the sun and was well kept. A couple of specific requests had not been met when we arrived but these were resolved quickly and without quibble so overall very happy with the service and we certainly enjoyed our stay.
High quality accomodation nice touches like champagne & chocolates on arrival very spacious well presented and in a great location
Thank you for enabling us to enjoy beautiful Brooke Cottage. It just had everything .A lovely quiet retreat from the rigours of life. Ideally situated for the coast , seal trips and walking. We will definitely be back as soon as we can. Our memories keep flooding back. 100% fantastic!! Gillian Tony & Ruby (our standard poodle)X
Second stay here and enjoyed it again. Close to all amenities literally two minutes walk to quayside. Everything we could need in the apartment only missing a corkscrew but I always have one with me (old barmen never die). One small complaint that the outside areas look a bit untidy, the path and gravel garden at the back need weeding and the paintwork needs touching up. That said it didn't spoil our stay. Dog friendly as is most of North Norfolk and free parking which in a town like Wells is an advantage.
The cottage is ideally placed within easy walking distance of the coast which suited both the adults and the dogs and the weather added to the charm of the cottage as with the evening sun shining the courtyard garden was perfect to sit with a glass of something cold and relax. overall the value for money was excellent and we would both recommend this cottage to others and book it ourselves again in the future.
Wonderful views and location. Spacious and comfortable for two. Needs freezer compartment in fridge. Great to have parking space.
We loved this bungalow, it was perfect for our short break with the dog. I always review places with the suitability for a dog and this was way up with the best. My only small gripe was the floors were a bit sticky as I like to walk around bare footed, otherwise I may not have noticed! Lovely enclosed garden plenty of parking and really quiet. This we will certainly keep as a place to return to. It is great when you find a places that really suits your purpose. Thank you very much
Comfortable beds. Lots of areas to sit outdoors and the patio a real suntrap. Quiet and private but close to all amenities and the beach. Beach car park reduced cost if you are not staying all day and only walking the dog.
on arrival we were surprised by the size of the rooms and lovely décor. nice views across the park . bottle of wine and milk in the fridge. good wifi and tip top facilities all round .
Sanderlings is a lovely house in a fantastic location. It is very well equipped with a large garden which has a gate opening onto open fields for happy dog walking! The village is on the door step with shops and two pubs. A ten minute drive takes you to beautiful unspoilt beaches - Brancaster and Holkham, in particular. What more could you need??!
We had a brilliant time staying at Chesterfield Cottages. It's a lovely house, really well presented, and it's very central to Cromer. There's plenty to do in Cromer itself but it's also a great base for exploring the beautiful North Norfolk coastline. We'd reccomend the beach, crabbing on the pier, and Ronaldo's gooseberry ice cream from the shop near the foot of the gangway. Plenty of good places to eat but we really enjoyed The Wellington and the Red Lion. The cottage itself is very well kept. There's loads of pots, pans and utensils and the house is really clean and well looked after. T...more
Would certainly recommend it to other people I think they were just unfortunate not to be able to get hot water and decent pressure as apparently if the bath is running they were unable to have a shower also had difficulties with the fire but were very satisfied with the comfort and all the accommodation and would not hesitate to go again
The weather was amazing so this does sometimes mean that you think everything about your British holiday is brilliant. However even if it had rained every day, you could not escape the fact that this is an brilliant cottage in an excellent part of Norfolk, when we walked in and found a welcome card, beers, bottle of wine and a cake we new it was going to be a great week. The house is immaculate and a perfect location with the best local shop and the 'Gin Trap' a gin lovers paradise! We will be recommending this to our friends. We normally stay in our family holiday home in Old Hunstanton but f...more
This is a delightful place to stay. The location is truly beautiful and, on arrival, we opened the back door to the decking to see 2 swans with 6 cygnets - magic! There is plenty of space in this lovely cottage on the river and always some wildlife to see outside (swans/ducks/coots/heron). The facilities were very good, kitchen well-equipped and the bedrooms extremely comfortable. Linen and towels of good quality. Bathrooms also good with excellent shower downstairs. The log fire was a life-saver as we had one very cold day last week (remember to take your own logs with you as they are not pr...more
This was a nice clean warm cottage convenient for walking to Brancaster beach and coastal path. Good facilities. Extended family and dogs all enjoyed our stay. Only one parking space but able to park beside the recreation ground. Enclosed garden safe to let dogs out
Lovely cottage in lovely location. The coastal road passes through lots of nice villages and the area is a dog friendly one
A lovely quiet cottage very well located in the centre of Burnham Market. Very pleasantly decorated with a modern seaside theme which we enjoyed. The standard of cleanliness was excellent throughout. It was well equipped apart from the TV and DVD player which we found difficult - especially as the lead had been wrongly joined at the back! It would be our only suggestion for improvement. The one thing we would mention is that although the cottage has a useful parking facility, it was very difficult to turn an estate car around once in the courtyard. Future visitors could be alerted to this...more
We thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful week's stay in early July in this beautifully appointed accommodation. The open plan living area was excellent as was its quiet location in the centre of Wells-next-the-sea within easy walking of the eclectic mix of shops, some good pubs, restaurants and the quayside. We found no problem in parking in the nearby streets as it was too tight to comfortably get our Renault Clio into the garage. A thoroughly enjoyable week thank you, with a welcome bottle of wine on arrival.
Very handy for all areas, nothing was too far. Very peaceful. Lovely setting.beach wasn't too far to walk.not many pubs but very nice food at West Norfolk.
This beach hut was well situated nestled in the sand dunes, making it feel private and peaceful. We really enjoyed our week using the hut. Would recommend to families who need space, this is one of the largest we have found to rent.
The owner of this property pays extensive attention to providing what is needed for a comfortable holiday. Well equipped kitchen, decent size TV, torches, spare batteries etc. Numerous games, dvd's, books and local/tourist information folder.
Adrian and Claire provided a lovely home away from home. A comfortable, clean cottage located in a beautiful village.
Beautiful cottage in a convenient location especially with a fantastic deli across the road! Lovely for two people wanting to explore Norfolk - would highly recommend
Though the cottage is nicely decorated there were a number of defects and broken items, some of them dangerous, which show a lack of regular inspection by Norfolk Hideaway and the owner, which is quite sad for such a potentially lovely cottage. We would love to return to this place when the standard of maintenance has been upgraded.
Garden very small, very creaky stairs hard to move around without waking anybody, wonderful building site only 30 ft 'away hardly any noise from it' !!!
Four generations enjoyed staying in this lovely spacious barn with large garden and games rooms. Easy walking distance to local shop and Gin Trap Inn where extra family stayed for the weekend. Well equipped kitchen and good storage but the let down was the poor standard of cleaning throughout the barn. Every beam had a coating of dust and cobwebs, the upstairs bath had to be cleaned before it could be used and the bedroom floor hoovered as a toddler was staying in that room. The bathroom in the twin room had many cobwebs and spiders coming from the ceiling into the shower and the bedroom ...more
Nice setting close to attractions very comfortable but better if lounge was downstairs and no second br Would stay again
We loved our stay great location to explore the Norfolk coast would definitely stay again no negatives with the cottage had everything we needed clean comfortable was happy to call it home for a week
Our stay at Driftwood Cottage was fantastic. The cottage was well equipped and had everything and more for our stay. The garden was perfect to relax in after a day out. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It is in a perfect loaction, less than a mile to brancaster beach. Brancaster beach is perfect, easily accessible and great for families as only a very short walk from the car park. We will definitely stay again and recommend it.
A well presented cottage in a location that gives good access to the North Norfolk Coast and Countryside. The fixtures and furnishings are of an excellent standard and well maintained, however with a period cottage such as this, any tall persons must be aware of low doorways, as they say "duck or grouse!". We did have a fault occur with the boiler but this was dealt with very promptly on a Sunday morning, much to our satifaction. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our first holiday in Norfolk and look forward further visits.
Property is clean and comfy, but a little dark because of an overhang from floor above. Consequently, apartment is cool, although with recent warm weather that didn't matter. Did notice, however, that clothes felt damp when I unpacked at home.
Cooker and BBQ hadn't been cleaned and several discs were missing from cd collection. Lovely secluded garden for the children.
Wonderful peaceful hideaway, beautifully decorated and perfectly situated for all the Norfolk coast has to offer. Will certainly be returning
Spent a very nice 3 nights in the Wild Duck , beautiful place, very quirky with the nautical theme. Great location for walking the beach and also exploring the area.
A small problem finding the house. Reference to the house Brentwood did not help as the house name was covered in ivy ! Would have appreciated more guidance on the T.V., Microwave, house keys other than the cooker there was no literature. We had a storm which knocked out the T.V. and was pure luck that we got Sky working !! Sham there was limited views of the marsh lands Must add that Jade was a great help
We stayed at Lavante for a week and had a wonderful time. The property is extremely well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Wifi was available which was a godsend give poor signal quality all over Hunstanton. Basically the property has everything you need and is situated a short walk (5 mins) from Old Hunstanton beach which is lovely. There are three nice pubs just a few minutes walk serving excellent food as well as a small local shop. The walk to Hunstanton town is a bit of a trek, about 25mins, which we did several times as taxis are not easy to get and need booking well in advance. ...more
Very nice cottage very well looked after. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Would be handy to have a toilet upstairs
Lovely feel to this cottage with beams and nooks, low 'cottagey' windows upstairs. Comfortable good sized rooms, thoughtfully and generously equipped (including a milk jug - so often missed). Warm welcome, and some food provided to get one off at the start. Enclosed garden both back and front, exceptional, with really convenient parking. The village is small but pleasant to wander around. Pub next door, very popular, and rather 'gastro'. Village shop, playground, church, some footpaths. The garden centre next door is exceptionally good. We had not visited Norfolk before, and found...more
We had a great stay at Castle House. Fantastic location and a lovely garden. The house is really well set up for families and the balcony off the front bedroom is perfect for an evening drink overlooking the Butlands. Having parking is also a real bonus. It's surprising a high chair wasn't provided given it's a family house but Norfolk Hideaways brought one for us which was appreciated. However, this house is in desperate need of a proper clean and redecoration. The paintwork is tired and there is a lot of dust and dirt. The cleaning between stays does an ok job of cleaning the surfaca...more
We found the cottage to be very comfortable with enough equipment. Cley is very quiet and because the weather was so good the garden was really appreciated. Enjoyed our stay for the week and used the Coast hopper lots of days. The local restaurant The Harnser does good food and the Picnic Fayre sells delicious fruit, vegetables, pies and bread.
Lovely large barn conversion with light airy feel. Open rear outlook that felt private with access to rear track and fields for dog walks. We'll equipped property with excellent games room to first floor. The finish was generally excellent and quality of fixtures and fittings good. Great location for exploring coast, country and broads near Norwich. Overall excellent holiday.
The cottage is well located in Brancaster Staithe for access to shopping and excellent food/drink at the White Horse. Also there are great views from the back of the house (over salt marsh to sea) and a good size garden. The cottage is itself was OK and we enjoyed our break there and in B/Staithe itself however we did find the kitchen to very small and cluttered. If you have any mobility problems then this isn't the cottage for you - the stairs are very steep and there are steps into/out of some rooms.
We stayed at the Manse for a week in May half term 2017 and had a fantastic time in North Norfolk, We have 2 young daughters who are 4 and 2 so we were attracted by the security that the Manse offers. Having electric gates was great for us as we could let the girls run around outside without fear of them suddently running out on to the road. The Cottage itself was lovely and as everyone else in the visitor book commented, very well equipped. The only request i would make is that the owner provides the option of a travel cot and high chair, as a lot of other family friendly cottages do. This wa...more
Very nice property & location Had every think we need & more we would book again. The local pub was excellent & great food.
My 2 friends & I really enjoyed our stay and peaceful surroundings. There was a tasty welcome basket with scones, butter, jam, bread & with easy access to the store/PO for more supplies. The living room/kitchen is beautifully decorated, well equipped & with books about the local area. It was good having 2 en-suite rooms. I would have liked a slightly firmer twin bed. We loved breakfasting in the secluded garden watching blackbirds feeding their young. We had a problem on arrival finding the driveway from the road - the sign was not visible until after the turning! Otherwise for us it was th...more
Really enjoyed our stay at fulmar, it's a lovely house, well decorated and well stocked. Unfortunately, when packing to go home, we did our usual check down the side of the beds (in case the kids had lost something down there) and found items of clothing belonging to previous guests!
We really like this property and the location, I have to say it is beginning to look a bit worn on the interior and the furnishing. The bin in the kitchen is still broken and the heating controls are hopelessly too complicated so that customers cannot adjust the heat. I had to call out an engineer on the previous visit. now that a Cabin has been built on the Lawn that can lead to problems for kids [playing on the grass - also loss or privacy. All in all we love the location but the price is becoming too high compared to other holiday rentals. Thanks for finding our Kindle. Very good!!
Had a lovely week in this very comfortable well equipped house in a pretty village conveniently placed for visiting the coast. The lovely weather helped but there were games and DVDs provided if the weather was not so good. Bbq in garden was very welcome and we made good use of it. Only negative was that the garden table was rather small for 8 of us to use.
The location is great with access straight onto the marsh path for a lovely walk. Good to be able to sit on the balcony in the morning sun and watch the swifts. However the property could do with some minor tweaks. The TV is too small to be useable. The cutlery is 1980's Habitat and could do with updating and modern crockery would be nice. It could be a really stylish property but looks a bit dated. Some new decoration, fabrics and flooring and kitchen would make a real difference and might push the property into the luxury category.
The house was really lovely with a sunny sheltered garden. The kitchen is very large, well equipped and has an AGA. Both sitting rooms are large with open fires. There are 4 good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds, duvets and pillows. The family bathroom is very nicely equipped and has an excellent shower. The Gin Trap Inn just a few steps away serves good food and the village shop is a veritable labyrinth with much more than food to buy.
We found the cottage was in an excellent location and was very clean and had everything that we needed to make a very relaxing break.
Booked on the day of arrival and were delighted to be able to get the cottage at such short notice. Norfolk Hideaways make the booking process very easy. Cottage was lovely, clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. Nice outdoor courtyard area with sunbeds and seating. Gets a good amount of sun and is nice and secure for the dogs. Good utility area for the dogs to sleep in. Good shed for bike storage and good parking. Excellent location opposite the shop which has long opening hours. On the negative side, lots of cars stopping outside at times to visit the shop, but you have to accept this and ...more
We had such a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage. We took our two little dogs, The garden is really nice and safe for the dogs no chance of them escaping. Bedrooms are a nice size and there are two bathrooms. It is set in a perfect location, easy reach of Hunstanton, and wells. Brancaster beach is wonderful for walking dogs. The white horse pub is less than a 5 minute walk they serve incredible food and lovely gin. Deepdale cafe does the best full English I've ever eaten. I would definitely stay again, only criticism is it could do with a little bit of TLC.
I regularly stay in north Norfolk and this was a chilly house- and v basic- although there was nothing missing as such it felt very sparse - and the heaters took about 3 days to warm up the house. Just didn't feel very homely.
Wyndswept is a beautiful house, plenty of room for families. Excellent location for Wells town. It is our second visit to the property. My only suggestion would be to spend money on some TLC! New cushions on the sofas. New towels for all bedrooms, new mattress covers. The house could be amazing!
Cottage just outside of Docking which meant taking the dog in the car for every walk as very busy road and no paths. Bed not very comfortable. Cottage it self was well equipped and the owner very kindly left a cake and a box of biscuits for the dog.
Lovely property in a great location. Picked a fabulous week with the weather. Would definitely come again.
Fantastic hut at the holkham end of the beach, approx 10 min walk from the beach car park. It had everything we could need for a day at the beach, we just adored it! 4 deck chairs, wind breaks, beach toys, stove, cups and saucers etc...my only criticism would be when you opened up the seating where there is storage it smells a bit musty...but if you don't open the cupboards then its absolutely fine. Perhaps the towels and blankets need wash! We'd definitely hire it again as it's in a much quieter spot than the main beach and in the dog friendly end.
we had a good holiday, very comfortable , but found the beds a bit hard, and the threshold step a bit steep, apart from that we had every thing we required, would certainly come back again. kind regards Pauline and Kevin ( Poppy dog)
Pilgrims is a good name for the place. While not quite monastic in its spartan furnishings and decor, it was rudimentary. I had everything I needed and the whole place was spotless and odourles. There were comfy beds but the comforter was a bit of overkill when the weather warmed up. The road is literally an inch from the building and motorists have a disconcerting habit of peering into the living room as they pause to make the turn, fortunately there is not much traffic. I enjoyed watching British Television but life would have been easier if there had been internet. The BT zone did...more
We found Nooky House very well equiped and felt welcome there. The location cannot be improved. We found a certain amount of dust which is possibly inevitable in a 'beamed' house but the sofas, particularly were not that comfortable and poorly arranged for viewing the TV. The 'joy-stick' tap on the wash-hand basin comes very near the eye when bending to rinse one's face! Otherwise everything was perfect.
Great property for older folks as has 2 downstairs bedrooms, and 2 upstairs. Also in a great location close to beach. Only minor issue was the cleanliness of the property as lots of spiders and webs throughout, an easy fix with a chat to the weekly cleaning staff/company.
All good. One change that is possible: Create a dedicated guest area outside xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Accommodation was good for 5 adults, 1 child and 4 dogs. Noise from the road, school and church clock was excessive. Garden was dog-friendly and safe but very overgrown (a rose bush grows over the lounge window) and uncared for - loose bricks on raised flower bed, the garden furniture was scruffy and the barbeque was dirty. The mattresses on the bunk beds were worn and uncomfortable and there is no lock on the bathroom door! The welcoming pack was a nice touch but, for the cost of the property, it was rather expensive taking in the faults mentioned. Title of review stopped at 17 words!! Gen...more
A good beach house in the dog friendly part of Wells beach. Convenient for access from the car park, pine woods, toilet block and water tap. The beach house itself is excellent and there are lots of toys etc for the kids. But very disappointed with the state of the collapsible chairs - they were dirty, stained and not up to standard and its only the start of the season - ended up going back to the car to collect our own chairs. For the hire cost we would expect the contents to be in much better condition. We were left disappointed and wouldn't hire it again.
Plunketts cottage is a beautiful and very well equipped cottage. However i stayed there 7 years ago I don't think it has had anything done to it to update it. It could really do with a lick of paint as it is still exactly the same and is looking very tired and a bit mish mash. i had forgotten how steep the step were and take a while to get use to, but it does warn you in the write up. It is in a very quiet area which was perfect for us, you do need to be able to drive or have a car as it is about 5 mins in the car away from the village. Beautiful pubs in the area and a fantastic fish shack dow...more
All my family enjoyed our short Easter break at Rockaway, very comfort, like home from home, we look forward to returning sometime again this year.
Very nice new and clean property. Well equipped kitchen. Good sized living /dining room. Nice garden but with no views. Very near coastal path walking and boating scene. Good parking very occasionally no access due to high tides! Good pub walking distance. .Friendy landlord adjacent if problems. Great dialysis nearby for those patients who need it!
The Great Barn was good for a family, especially with older children. The swimming pool was lovely and warm and close by. The bedrooms cosy and the bathrooms plentiful. On the whole the barn was well equipped but lacked a dishwasher and the washing up arrangements were not ideal ( the sink area had no drainer so when the tray filled up with water, sometimes it spilled over the sides ). The seating at the table was on benches and this seemed a little squashed when six people were sharing it. But these were quibbles and didn't spoil our holiday. The local area was perfect for family day outs a...more
good location, perhaps the windows could be improved as we could not see clearly through them. the two sofas were rather uncomfortable, otherwise very good
House layout (upside down) is very nice. Really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful area, amazing beaches and walks. Great for the kids and dog.
House was very comfortable but new pots and frying pans needed. Also there was only one small baking tray. The bowls and small plates were on a high shelf which I couldn't reach without standing on a chair. There were also quite a few cobwebs around. Apart from that we all enjoyed our holiday very much.
We loved this cottage which is full of character, lots of beautiful old furniture and books and quirky things! We had to draw lots for the amazing master bedroom which is huge with views to the woods and the lake. We enjoyed watching the pheasants running around! The location is beautiful and it's very peaceful. We even managed to eat outside one day- unexpected high temperatures for October. The kitchen is very well equipped, with an Aga and a conventional oven. The lounge has an open fire which we enjoyed at night. There is plenty to do in this area whether you want to drive somewhere...more
A very comfortable and quiet little house in a good position. Excellent base for walking the Norfolk Coast Path. The Coast Hopper 'bus and nearby Co-op store very convenient.
We stayed with our 3 year old and the most wonderful stay. Cottage is in a great location to explore Norfolk. Loads of things to do. The cottage was really comfortable and we really enjoyed it. Will be back again!
Lovely cottage with a good downstairs bedroom and en-suite , excellent for dog as secure, Good facilties, television in bedrooms WiFi etc but unfortunately no DVD with main television. Really enjoyed our holiday here and will be returning.
Pros: Excellent position overlooking Burnham Overy Staithe Harbour Well equipped with comfortable beds and chairs Brilliant 76Mb Infinity 2 Fibre Wi-Fi Quiet garden (potentially shared) Hero Pub short walk away Cons: Mays Cottage is above the lounge with internal locked dividing door upstairs - very poor sound insulation Very limited TV reception - needs Freesat or Internet TV box - glad we bought our iPad Towels not provided for the price (but lent free by Norfolk Hideaways)
This property is in a fabulous location near beaches and a wide range of activities. The layout is perfect for a holiday shared by grandparents, parents and children. The extensive garden is magical for all but is in need of some tlc. As experienced cottage hirers we were disappointed by the cleanliness and organisation of this property. Many surfaces had a covering of dust, the bathrooms were only superficially clean and the carpets stained. The excessive weight of pans and trays in 2 drawers is an accident waiting to happen. There was a huge stock of kit in both the summer house and play roo...more
This was a good property in a good location, quiet, but in easy reach of all that Wells has to offer. However I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with mobility problems as the stair resembles a spiral and the treads are quite slippy. The cottage is well equipped, tho' I would have preferred 2 pillows as opposed to a rigid bolster. As mentioned by previous guests the bed is very comfortable but my husband found it too small. All in all it was a good break and I would happily recommend the property and the company who manage it
We went away as a group of 5 adults with our 3 dogs. When we arrived the cottage was very cosy and there was milk and bread left out for us which was a nice touch. Unfortunately as we settled in we noticed the property was in need of a little TLC. Several knobs were missing from the kitchen units (including the cutlery drawer), the shower leaked resulting in a big pool of water on the floor every time you showered and neither of the TV remotes worked. Whilst clean on the service, a lot of the dishes were dirty and it felt like the house hadn't had a proper spring clean in a while (e.g. rad...more
One or two things listed by Norfolk Hideaways were slightly inaccurate (e.g. the woodburning stove was not a feature). Instructions for waste disposal were somewhat confusing.
This is a really delightful cottage which has a deceptive amount of space with adequate facilities and equipment for 4 people. Lovely decor and comfy seating. The little courtyard garden is lovely but needed a bit of tidying up when we visited - nothing bad, just a bit overgrown. Inside there is everything you need for your stay. Cleanliness could have been better - the carpets looked brand new but no one had cleared up the dust on the skirting boards or on the side of the stairs. Maybe we were the first people to be in there for a while. However, a great location - nearby walk for the dog, sh...more
Lovely cottage and in a good location. The only down side was there was no shower and the stairs were very steep. The garden also was in need of mowing. Other than that a fantastic base for a wonderful stay in north Norfolk.
We arrived to a lovely hamper, plenty of household supplies and a folder of helpful advice. The location is excellent, very good Pub across the street and local shop with everyday supplies, plus loads of other quirky bits and pieces, a pleasant surprise. Use of the landline in the cottage was a nice touch as the mobile signal is very poor. Very easy access from Ringstead to beaches, other villages/shops/restaurants. A small park in the village for children came in handy too. A nice sized kitchen and good sized bedrooms. It is a lovely cottage, so we were rather disappointed to find the...more
After staying here for 6 years in a row and thinking that the property and facilities in it were amazing, we felt it had certainly declined. Cleaning of the property: The cleaning of the cottage was very poor, there were cobwebs on the undersides of small tables, dust along skirtings and in corners. Upstairs in the bathroom we could write in the dust on the low beams! The bottom sheet that had been put on the bed had been washed, but was badly stained- why continue to use it? I removed it and found another in a cupboard. Facilities We were without any hot water, but didn't realise ...more
We loved - cottage character - N Norfolk coastline - Binham is a cute place to stay - trying raw milk(!) and eating at good pubs. We didn't like - clutter in cottage (way too many ornaments downstairs, pushchair, high chair, too many dining chairs etc) - cobwebs and dust - felt more like a family home (way too many things in drawers) rather than a holiday cottage - living out of suitcases as storage facilities for clothes inadequate. Much better use of the built in wardrobe could be made.
A great location for a week long break for 2. Cottage does not quite look the same as the pictures. Sofa had no cushions and rug was dark brown. We loved the bed for its size and comfort. Otherwise the overall impression is of a well-loved, if a little tired, family home.
Wish we had been aware of the church clock chiming every half hour, even during the night. Nice courtyard, lovely sun trap. Small criticism, could do with more mirrors. Good selection of crockery and glassware.
It was great to have s beach hut which we used every day . Good facilities /plenty of games It was great not having to carry all your stuff to the beach every day. We had many evenings sitting and watching the sun sets.
Lovely wood burner. No instructions for heating radiators we could not turn on. No wardrobes just hanging space on back of doors. Not suitable for elderly or anyone with mobility problems. We will not be back again, and we would not recommend it to anyone else.
We found found some of this property fine....sitting room, bed room. We drew the owner,s attention to a disconnected downpipe. It only needed a ladder, which he had. No action, so the ceiling in the kitchen leaked after he left. Also impossible to light the cooker after a day or two. The kitchen left much to be desired. No plate rack to dry the wasning up...?a dishwasher for thIs price might have been expected. Dirty utensils left in a basket. Empty salt and pepper and empty unwashed glass pots in another basket. Pity about the garden...and the bathroom. It was just dirty! We ...more
When booking this property we appreciated it's age and realised there would be some quirky features but we were very disappointed with the cleanliness. We have stayed in various barns, cottages and houses over many years and this is the first time we've ever had an issue with cleanliness. We did call into the Norfolk Hideaway office in Burnham Deepdale on Monday 26th September to discuss the problems with a member of staff who said she was 'very sorry' and offered to arrange further cleaning but we felt this would be too disruptive and I had cleaned as best I could anyway. She also said she wo...more
Safety issues raised with agent: - shower room door jammed trapping someone inside - bedroom door fell away from frame when hinge came adrift - we complained, door rehung same day - dangerous step down into bathroom at top of stairs - we complained, warning note stuck to outside of door but risk of tripping from inside (which someone did) and falling down stairs (which thank heavens she didn't) remains Otherwise nice cottage in good location.
