Glamaig Cottage is a cosy one bedroom cottage in a residential area just 5 mins walk from Portree town centre. There is a galley kitchen with dining area, lounge with flat screen TV and a bathroom with walk-in shower, W.C. and wash hand basin.

we had a warm welcome with many information and advice about the cottage and what to do around. The place was well furnished and cozy. We were only 7' away from downtown so we could leave the car and do most on the town on foot

The cottage was ideally situated and very comfortable. The owners gave us a warm welcome and were extremely kind and generous with their starter pack. We would definitely return and despite the weather had a lovely time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Skye. Absolutely fantastic stay. Great hosts. Our dog had a fabulous time. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and great way to start off the holiday.

Lovely cottage in a great location. 5 minutes walk from Portree town centre. The lovely owners left the most generous welcome hamper we have ever had. We wanted for nothing.
The location was perfect for visits everywhere on Skye with shops, restaurants and takeaways close by.

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Glamaig Cottage. We were due to arrive a bit early, but emailed Highland and Islands Cottages the evening prior and got a response first thing in the morning to let us know we could check in early. The cottage was a short walk (note: it's a steep hill if your mobility is challenged) from the bus stop in Portree. Linda was there to greet us and show us the cottage on their property. She and Mike were very kind and had left us a bottle of wine and a fridge stocked with essentials for breakfast (bacon, eggs, milk, jams, bread...) so that we wouldn't have to get groceries on our first night- extremely thoughtful! Mike came over that evening to see if everything was ok and gave us his time to answer questions about places to see and how to get around Skye. He even helped us connect with a local taxi driver (shout out to Fiona!) who took us to some harder-to-reach destinations on the island - one of the best days of our entire vacation. The cottage kitchen had everything we needed; the bedroom had ample closet space and a good-sized bed; there was a wee sitting room with TV and "fireplace" heater. Good water pressure, and everything worked. Even a little enclosed outdoor space - we loved watching the birds come to the feeder. Cozy, charming home-away-from-home. Thank you for a delightful stay - we only wish it could have been longer!

in spite of the weather we had a very good week. The cottage was very central which was good as parking in Portree in particular and indeed Skye in general was very challenging!
The welcome pack of food and even wine was very much appreciated.

All in all an excellentb stay!

This place is beyond my expectation. It is fully furnished, especially the kitchen. It has all the necessary equipment to cook a meal. Linda & Mike also prepare some food for us to cook as breakfast, I especially thankful for the wine presented to us. The house is only 5 minutes walk to the Portree square so it's reachable.

Enjoyed our stay here with our dog.
We loved:
- The rooms, cleanliness
- Walkable distance to the town centre which was great
- Breakfast and wine that was there on arrival was a lovely touch!
- Towels and linen all available and clean
- Plenty of heating
- Lovely hosts who were available if we required but happy to give us our privacy
- Parking space
- Stove, kitchen was new and easy to use

Some improvements
- Gated area for the dog was gravel, would have been nice to have a gate in the grass area around the cottage for the dog
- Even though the cottage was 'no smoking' the couches in the lounge room smelt heavily of cigarettes, which made it difficult for us to use the living room being non-smokers.
- Would have been a bit better if there was an oven to complete the kitchen
- There was a washing machine but no where to hang clothes to dry inside

You'll be hard pushed to find a better location. Five minutes walk from the facilities of Portree town centre and coastal walks, so a car wouldn't be required (although parking is provided) unless you want to see more of the island without joining specific tours. The owners live next door and provided a generous welcome pack and are on hand for any help needed - not that we needed any; everything was fine and I'm sure it would provide a comfortable stay even for a winter break. My wife and I would definitely recommend it as comfortable accommodation for two and would consider returning. I would only have one minor comment - there was a faint smell of smoke as you entered the cottage suggesting that a previous tennant may have broken the no smoking rule!
