The Mill, Uig is a traditional mill with a stunning riverside location on the Isle of Skye. There is a cosy lounge with open fire, a spacious kitchen / diner with french doors leading to the garden. There are two double bedrooms and a single bedroom. The garden surrounds the cottage and there is a river running past.

The Mill is a beautiful house with lots of character. Absolutely everything we needed was provided and we felt very much at home. The house was warm, It was very clean, there’s lots of space and the showers were great - important after a long day walking!

Seamus and Maggie gave us a lovely welcome and were very kind.

The location is great. It was lovely to walk down to the shore of the beautiful bay at sunset and look out for the otters and seals.

It’s very close to so many beautiful places in Skye including the falls of Rha, the fairy glen, and the Quairang. It made a great base to explore the whole island but you could easily stay very local for a week because it’s a lovely part of Skye.

The village is quiet but there’s an extremely good shop almost next door and we had a great meal out at The Galley just up the road. There is a pub and hotel but they weren’t taking bookings when we were there due to Covid. Big Co-op in Portree and fish and chips in the harbour.

Beautiful House for rest and relaxation

Really needed a well earned break and this was just the spot. The Mill is in excellent condition and is well furnished.
It is well located for an isolated holiday, nest to a lovely run ins stream/river. You have private access to a wooded area along with the stream.
A very short stroll and your by the sea. The bay is rocky and somewhat industrial due to being a ferry port, but lovely nonetheless. The actual town itself is a short drive or a 20 minute walk.
There is a handy shop just a 2 or 3 minute walk away.
It was out first time on Skye and we were blown away by the beauty of the island.
The owner met us on several occasions and was really lovely and helpful. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back!

The Mill is very spacious and a home from home. Everything you need as far as utensils etc are there. It’s location Is perfect for visiting the Fairy Glen and the Dinosaurs Footprints at Staffin. It is also only a 20 min drive to Portree. There are also great views across the Loch to the Harbour, fishing is allowed from the Harbour, and great sport on a light spinning rod. The owners Maggie and Seumas live local and are very helpful but not intrusive. They are only a call away if you need anything or advice on the surrounding area. All in All the Mill is an excellent place to stay and I can’t praise it enough.
