A fantastic and very reasonably priced venue for a group of 22 friends and work colleagues to relax.
The property and service was fantastic and faultless. The house is even better than in the photos and is set on beautiful grounds. Even though we had a fair amount of rain over the weekend, we were able to have a great time in the hot tub and use the ample inside space. Don't hesitate to book - this house made my birthday weekend! Charles from staycation was also brilliant and so very helpful throughout the booking process.
We just love this place, every last detail has been thought about.. though there are five lodges you are not aware of the four around you as they are all screened for privacy. Great Jon staycation
We needed a few days away for a mini honeymoon. We came across this place and it was perfect. We loved the welcome hamper of coffee, tea, jam, cereal etc... Was so peaceful and would come back anytime!
We had a wonderful time staying in this lovely house, in an ideal location. Plenty of room for large groups. Well equipped - we had everything we needed. Very much appreciated the welcome hamper, particularly the scones, cream and jam left ready for us! Highly recommended.
10 of us stayed here for 4 nights. A wonderful house in a breathtaking location. The communal areas of the house were large a spacious, so people weren't crammed together for the weekend. All the bedrooms are lovely with comfortable beds and duvets. The whole house was spotlessly clean, well equipped (especially the kitchen) and an absolute pleasure to be in
Amazing home, with glorious views and beautiful country living. The house is in a small village with a local butchers/bakers and convenience store. Rolling hills that go on for miles and a gorgeous home with generously proportioned rooms. Complete privacy though there are sheep and another house or two in the row! What a fantastic way to enjoy this scenic area.
We had a fantastic family Christmas , lovely house with amazing views. A lovely area of the country with plenty of places to visit. Kevin was brilliant with us, really kind and helpful nothing was too much trouble for him
We loved staying in Trencreek, it is set in beautiful farmland close to the beautiful South Cornish coastline. Small beaches, lots of rockpooling for small children and a drive away to lots of places such as the Eden Project and Gweek Seal Sanctuary. The house is very spacious with an extremely well equipped large kitchen with a lovely AGA to cook on. It has attractive decor but feels comfortable to live in. There is a very large garden with a full sized table tennis table in the barn. The huge welcome hamper was a lovely treat to have when we arrived. We would love to return to this haven whe...more
The layout was excellent it suited us really well with teens, my elderly parents and two dogs. The beds were extremely comfy, house was very dog friendly and the fridge super large! Great TVs and retro DVD player enjoyed by the teens. Bonython gardens were a delight, so fantastic to be able to stroll around each evening like it was our own! Only issues were no separate downstairs loo, not really a cooks kitchen and no doors to divide downstairs areas to break up sound from chatting and TV watching. We would certainly come again.
We were impressed with the property on all counts. It was clean, modern, warm and well equipped. We were also impressed with the splendid welcome hamper which included the essentials plus a number of luxuries. The housekeeper was charming and popped round to check everything was ok. The beds were excellent - proper king size with luxury bed linen. The rooms were large, warm, well furnished and nicely decorated. The kitchen was well equipped. All in all couldn't be better.
How wonderful to wake up to such fabulous views and be able to walk for miles from the house. We really enjoyed the local area, horseriding near Shrewsbury, Ludlow and the castle including Greens cafe outside. Carding Mill Valley was a brilliant day out and we mostly enjoyed walking from the house. A brilliant stay, lovely welcome hamper, beautiful views and very comfortable house. Thank-you!
What a fabulous house in such a perfect setting! Was amazing waking up and walking out onto the lake each morning. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the hot tub is such a great added extra! Charles and Kevin couldn't have been more helpful, so thank you for such a great stay! Hopefully we will be back :)
Spacious, clean, well equipped and comfortable. Excellent customer care. Could not have asked for more. Easy access to beach and amenities. Great location for family holidays.
We had a great time in Smiddy Cottage. A cosy, fully equiped cottage in the great nature of Exmoor. Warm and friendly welcome from the owners and great recommendations on were to go. We absolutely loved it!
We found this accommodation absolutely perfect for our wedding celebration weekend. We had our two families stay with us so booking both cottages worked so well whilst still being able to socialise together in one cottage but having space to relax or breakfast separately. The large room worked really well as a Bridal room and felt really special to rerun to once we were married. The accommodation was beautifully decorated, very clean and well organised. The owner was lovely and very helpful and is on hand if you need them. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to make the two cottag...more
Beautiful spacious contemporary and stylishly furnished, overlooking the gorgeous views of the South Downs. We loved it.
We had a lovely time and Pete and Irene were very helpful and welcoming. Perfect place for lots of walks and good pub food
We greatly enjoyed our stay. Lovely cottages next to owners house. Very well furnished with all you could need. Nice touch with a very nice cream tea on arrival plus fresh flowers on the kitchen table. Beautiful scenery and amazing walks for families and dog owners. Would stay again.
Stayed for a week the location is fabulous and the view from the house is beautiful with the open plan living we will definitely be returning
All 8 of us agreed that we had a lovely time at Apple Mill. Charles at Staycation Holidays made the whole booking experience flow very easily and was a friendly chap. Apple Mill had some lovely features remaining from its time as a working building. It was a luxurious place to stay and felt like home very quickly. The kitchen was very well stocked with loads of plates, cups, cutlery, etc. Such a change from some of the places we have visited! Some of us found the hot tub a bit uncomfortable as the water temperature dropped and that area could do with a light for safety.
On the plus side, the cottage is really spacious with three large sofas and a log fire - great for relaxing. It is in a good location for visiting the Eden project, Looe and various beaches, and there is a pub a few minutes down the road the Plough at Duloe which is dog friendly and good food. On the downside the cottage is a bit shabby and there isn't much outside space - there is a very small grass patch out the front and some limited seating, a small garden shared with other cottages at the back, and nowhere really that you can walk to from the cottage itself. We enjoyed our visit in autumn...more
All you need for a lovely break away in the countryside. Not far away from a little town but far enough away to be in the countryside.
Excellent position, beautiful surroundings, unbelievably peaceful. Surrounded by fishing lakes, great walks, within easy walking distance of eateries, and with many sports facilities close on site, including fishing, tennis, boules, seven aside football, croquet, table tennis, pool. Etc. Very near a boating lake.
The location of the accommodation was wonderful, we experienced wonderful weather which added to the relaxing atmosphere. We were very disappointed in the cleanliness of the establishment and failure to check that all plugs etc worked prior to the new guests moving in for their stay. To have to ring on a Sunday to make a complaint which was noted prior to us moving in is very sloppy. I do accept that the response to our complaint was immediate however it should not have occurred in the first instance. Downstairs shower room actually had cobwebs in the shower (top left hand back corner). N...more
We had a short break here recently and the cottage was fine but needs a little tlc. There was a damp patch in one room in the ceiling, rusty bathroom handles, black mould appearing in the bathroom, chipped hob and worktop. It doesn’t have a green area to let dogs out and no public footpaths nearby. The WiFi isn’t great either but the cottage is only 20 minutes from Seaton beach which is great for dogs and about 20 minutes to Golitha Falls which are stunning, so the location of the cottage is good.
Our stay at Burrows was less than enjoyable, so much so that we cut our stay short by 2 days. The Owners live next door and constantly entered the property to’ check’ the hot tub, twice daily and without any notice! Zero privacy. Logs rationed and had to constantly ask for more only to be told that people don’t understand how to use the log burner and so use too many! They expect you to hunt around Devon for a log supplier even though their house manual states that logs are available in the shed next to the cottage. No internet when we arrived and then no internet for last 2 days of our sta...more
Speak to Charles at Staycation - he has my letter of complaint - which has now been resolved. We received a partial refund but holiday was ruined.
