I planned this as a surprise getaway for my wife, who is a huge HP fan. She loved the look and what they have managed to create in such a cosy place. The flat is located perfectly just outside the Shambles, it only takes you a short walk to reach it, the walkway at the rear made it super quick and keep's you away from the traffic. We also used Q-Park just across the water which was very convenient.

The only negatives we had are easily fixed ones, far side bed side lamp did not work, there was a bit of black mould in the shower and we could not find the remote control for the heating anywhere, so we used the very noisy one on the wall, would of been fine but with the constant knocking of the pipes it made it impossible to sleep with it on and with the huge window the temperate dropped quite quickly.

A few suggestions, the built in TV/Fireplace is a very nice feature, but some HDMI access would be great, we brought a console to play some HP games but could not use it. Another suggestion was some sockets or at least USB sockets in-reach of the lovely themed bedside tables. Last one was the amazing LED work in the bedframe ceiling, we would of loved to sleep with them on but they was just a little too bright, but maybe a dimmer switch would let people adjust to their liking.

Overall it was a lovely little getaway that we both needed, visited lots of shops in the Shambles, hit up the hole in the wand (crazy golf) and went to The Cat's Whiskers (cat cafe). The Enchantment Chamber was great to come back to after a busy day and get some rest, which came very easily from the very comfortable bed and cosy aesthetics. After all is said, I would highly recommend TEC to any Harry Potter fan or anyone that just needs to escape for a bit.

I would say please ensure the documents that are in the enchanted chamber are updated? As Fire doesnt work on the tv now. Also the bedside lamp isnt working or out of a lightbulb. I asked for a new lightbulb and didnt get any reply. Also the internet was quite poor.

We booked The Enchantment Chamber as a surprise Honeymoon apartment for my daughter Lueze and her new husband Chris. They love Harry Potter and it was the perfect choice. I kept this a secret for 18 months so it was a wonderful surprise for them!
We dropped their bags off on their wedding day and were delighted with our choice. The Harry Potter theme is excellent and the appartment is spotlessly clean and wellcoming with everything you need for a cosy stay.
Lueze and Chris had a wonderful time - we would recommend it as a very special place to stay in York - just perfect!
