This stunning 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom apartment provides a level of glamour that would be hard to beat. With its own private balcony, sumptuous living area, intimate dining area and fully fitted kitchen you can fully enjoy your time spent here. With the addition of the views over York Minster and two dedicated onsite parking spaces you will ensure the perfect break in York. What a treat!

The Residence is centrally located in York and beautifully decorated. For the price, I would have expected them to have provided more toilet rolls and the basics such as washing up liquid, but these seemed to be lacking. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped but was missing some essentials for a self catering property such as a measuring jug. Overall cleanliness was very good on the surface however under the sofa cushions and beds were filthy so feel the cleaners should do a more thorough clean once in a while. Beds were very comfortable apart from the middle room…if you sit on the side of the bed, the flimsy wooden slats collapse onto the floor (hence how we ended up looking under the bed!) and so one person has to hold the heavy mattress in the air while another gets on their hands and knees trying to fit the wooden slats back in place.

Apart from the minor niggles above, it was a very good stay and would recommend.

Very disappointed to turn up and find that the property had not been thoroughly cleaned - presumably not for quite some time either when considering the volume of dust on so many items of furniture/ornaments. The grouting on the tiles in the shower areas were brown in places, not what you would expect for a very expensive booking. Even after the cleaners had been brought in again, there were still items that were unclean - hair and smears of toothpaste in the bathroom drawers; toothpaste smears on the door frame of one of the bathrooms; cereal on the floor in the kitchen; and the balcony glass was just dreadful - effectively spoiling the view over towards The Minster ... the very reason we had booked the accommodation in the first place! The smell of bleach used to clean the shower tiles was overwhelming for a number of days afterwards too.
The towels provided were well used and of inferior quality - again, not what you would expect from a property which is marketed as being top quality and certainly is charged at a high rate.
Whilst Stays York responded quickly to our concerns, our thoughts are that what would be required is for the cleaning service to be thoroughly reviewed at this property and for Stays York to, at least, do regular spot checks on the cleanliness etc of all of the properties that they are marketing. Have pride in what you are doing and what is being offered to clients, otherwise you risk losing them.

Fantastic location. Mattresses need updating. Could feel the springs. Pillows also need updating. Otherwise well furnished. Would stay there again. One caveat, the unit has no A/C. We only had the living room/kitchen heat on during the day in December and were slightly warm in the bedrooms at night. I’m not sure if it would be bearable in the summer.

We stayed in the Residence apartment about 18 months ago, and the underfloor heating was broken in the lounge at that time,
I was reading some more up to date reports about how the main bedroom mattress was in very urgent need of replacement.
We booked, and all went well until the first night we attempted to sleep in the bedroom.
To say this mattress is in dire need of replacement is a complete understatement !
The springs are now popping out of the side of the mattress, and it needs changing NOW !!

This apartment has the potential to be one of the very best, but the owners need to invest more in it, the TV in the lounge is a very very basic model. The other apartments we have stayed in previously in Ryedale House and we have stayed in 5 different ones so far, all have OLED TVs in them.

The underfloor heating as all working well this time, but before I rebook int this apartment, I will be getting assurances from Stays York that some updating has been done, especially the main bedroom mattress, which needs doing NOW !!

2nd time booking with Stays York. Travelled with 2 other couples for midweek break, everyone commented how good apartment was. Superb accommodation, well positioned and views of the Minster. Will definitely book Ryedale again.

Nice place to stay, good location.
The beds were far too soft for us and one thing I would suggest it needs is much better fans, it was very hot in the rooms and the fans weren’t powerful enough.

A very well equipped top floor apartment, with unrestricted views over the city and to the Minster.
Spacious, clean and central for most attractions. Added bonus of car parking.
Plenty of restaurants nearby and a couple of late opening convenience stores.
Only downside was the mattress in master bedroom, with broken springs - needs replacing.

What you see is what you get. The apartment was immaculate, centrally located with great views across York’s skyline. Booked through Stays York who were great from start to finish. If you want something a little special I would wholly recommend the apartment and Stays York for quality service. Not one complaint... Perfect!

The apartment was beautifully decorated with modern features. It was spotless and right in the centre with almost everything within walking distance. The car park and building are both very secure. The apartment also has a lovely view of the Minster and everything was as advertised.

We received a lovely hamper full of lots and lots of goodies too! I’d definitely go back to this apartment if I’m ever back in York.

I cannot recommend the Residence enough. It’s absolutely stunning and the perfect location. Stays York were so helpful.
