We have stayed at Lower Mill and decided to try Silverlake. The house was well designed for our 2 adults, 5 children, 2 grandparents group. Safe, clean, well stocked. Easy walk around the complex. We had treatments at the spa which were brilliant. We hired a kayak, spent ages in the pool and had a drink in the bar watching the views most nights, staff lovely. Go now before it gets too popular. Would highly recommend.
Wonderful, calm, uninterrupted views and a beautifully presented house. We had a very restful and enjoyable stay.
Kirrin Barn has great accommodation for a large family and is very well equipped throughout . The setting is beautiful and the activity equipment included in the rental is easily accessible and well maintained . A brilliant place to stay .
Flagham house was beautiful, everything inside was high end - my 7 year old said it must be a footballers house! really spacious, everything you could need in the kitchen, amazingly comfy beds. Lovely touches like some welcome coffee, milk, tea bags and fudge. In a perfect location, great views, short walk to everything. As it’s in a private area with 9 houses you get the use of an outdoor pool and gym, we used both - excellent ! Really quiet and relaxing. My only tiny moan would be the outdoor chairs and table was very dirty, so we had clean it all before using. Apart from that it was perfect...more
Lovely cottage with great facilities. The perfect place to relax with the family and recharge. Enjoyed the Spa, nature reserve, bar, zip wire, fishing, paddleboarding - lots to do.
It was all fantastic! House was beautiful as was the pool... our kids had a fabulous time in the lake and the park.. we loved it
We stayed at Endless Sky for a family reunion at the end of July. It is a stunning house in a wonderful location, beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could need. We were a party of six adults and a baby and we did not use any of the facilities on the estate. The rental was expensive for the weekend but it was special reunion for our family and after staying at properties that did not live up to their descriptions in the past we were delighted with Endless Sky
We stayed in Ria Formosa for 5 days end of October. The whole family including grandparents and our three kids aged 2, 4 and 7 had such a wonderful time. We were blown away by the contemporary decoration, the big open-space and the wonderful lake views. Kids loved jumping on the trampoline, playing golf on the amazing roof top and playing on the provided Xbox. Ria Formosa is one of the latest developments close to the entrance and 5-min from the swimming pool and restaurant. The house is about 200m away from a construction site of new houses, the noise level was minimal and did not disturb us....more
We stayed at Sandpiper in July 2019. This is a gorgeous property, with substantial living space and huge garden, leading onto the lake. Beautifully furnished and all pretty much brand new when we stayed. The pool/spa is very good, and fairly quiet given the time of year. Nice rooftop bar
We were really looking forward to our stay at maple house and it didn’t disappoint! We were so lucky with the weather and managed to enjoy paddle boarding on the lake as well as relaxing next to the pool followed by a bottle of bubbles on the roof terrace at the spa! If you are thinking of a place to stay where you can relax and also enjoy activities on the water then book Maple House! You won’t be disappointed.
The accommodation was clean and comfortable, bright and colourful, with plenty of storage space. Everything is well laid out and spacious. it provided everything we needed including plenty of crockery and utensils. There was a nice outdoor seating area with BBQ. The heated outdoor pool is fantastic and the kids had great fun on the zip wire. We had a fantastic short break away. The only advise I would give is the outside doors and windows could do with a clean.. a few cob webs here and there, but apart from that, really lovely.
Our fourth time at Lower Mill but our first stay at Rivendell. Rivendell is a Sun House with an Easterly aspect bang on the shores of Howells Mere lake. It's one of the first houses on the Lake so it's really close to the Spa, Balihoo and the play park - really convenient if you have young children. The house itself has been very recently renovated and is stylishly appointed throughout. The owners have spared no expense on making the house comfortable and functional and it is well stocked with all the appliances you need. As usual with Habitat Escapes the house was exceptionally clean an...more
Beautiful house in lovely location on Minety Lake . Great facilities & very well equipped kitchen - apart from coffee machine ! ( Quickly replaced by Habitat Escapes team ) Quite an active lake with lots of families on paddleboards/kayaks which could get quite noisy & intrusive...& using motorised model boats ... Access to bicycles/paddle boards very straightforward although having to carry boards back & forth to Spinney a bit hard work ! Pool & spa gets a bit chaotic when busy Great long weekend stay on busiest w/e of year !
This was our 3rd visit to Lower Mill and again it was Wonderful. This was our first stay at The Beeches and it is a lovely place to stay, clean, comfortable and modern overlooking Howells Mere. We thoroughly enjoyed as always. Just a tip for the Estate - some of the hedges need pruning - driving the narrow roads was difficult because of it and some of the walkways around the lakes became flooded - some work on those is needed, but in fairness these are small points.
I looked at many properties before deciding on the Cotswold Manor as I wanted to ensure everyone in our group of eight adults (ages ranging from 18 to 80) would enjoy their holiday. The house is amazing, very impressive and great specification. It is just as it appears in the photos but feels bigger inside. There was plenty of room and the house was well equipped with outdoor furniture and gas BBQ. It's location is perfect if you want to use the spa and the pools on offer, which we did regularly, as the weather was the hottest it had been this year when we visited. I was worried about construc...more
It was our first time at Silverlake, coming across the house via another holiday website. Our property was immaculate and stocked with everything we needed. Silverlake was very impressive - beautiful setting, beautiful houses, excellent facilities, great pool for the kids and loved the roof top bar. Felt like we were self-catering in a posh hotel. Will highly recommend to friends.
The property is beautifully kept with lots of lovely finishing touches which makes all the difference on holiday. We took 2 young children and it was the perfect property and location onsite for the restaurant and spa which are well worth a visit.
Willow Warbler is a very tastefully furnished apartment with everything one needs for a weekend away. My only comment is that the beds in both rooms are too small.
Great house in a great location. Ideal for family weekends away, loads of activities for all ages and plenty of space.
Set in a lovely location, with stunning views. This holiday home was perfect for us. Very relaxing place to stay. 10/10 Have already recommended this property to other people
We (2 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 dog) stayed for two weeks at The Mallards and had a very good time. House was well equipped and cosy, facilities were excellent (we frequently used the pool and the tennis courts), and the location was just terrific (we enjoyed walks and jogs around the lakes – and the dog loved bathing into the water). Staff was very helpful (we only had a minor issue with the BBQ which was fixed within 24 hours). Some ongoing (quite noisy) construction just before our door for fibre optic installation in the first week was a bit disturbing but certainly no major inconvenience. We...more
The location and facilities provided at Driftwood were perfect for the adults and our grandchildren aged 9 to 13. There were plenty of activities for everyone. The bikes, kayaks and paddleboards were well used and of excellent quality and well maintained. We also made good use of the swimming pool and sauna as part of our activity package. The younger members particularly enjoyed their cycle rides, however the signposting and map detail could be improved. We had several enjoyable walks, again signposting could be improved, maybe by colour coded markers, however I am sure this will be rectified ...more
Bellewater is a spacious contemporary home overlooking a stunning lake at Lower Mill. It was immaculately clean, warm and well equipped for a relaxing stay. The only suggestion would be for larger beds, the master bedroom has space for this and the current double is on the small side (comfy though). Definitely book spa treatments and reserve a table at Ballihoo prior to visiting as they both get booked up!
Relaxing break. Lovely and quiet onsite so when I heard they were building 800 more houses on site with extra pools / spas over the next 10 years I was very disappointed. Thought I had found the perfect spot! Anyway no complaints other than I felt it was a few hundred pounds overpriced for the week and there was no green expanse where the kids could go play cricket etc. House was beautiful with everything provided .
- Great house and great space - no doubt about that - Comfortable, modern bedrooms and showers - Great hottub - The place was extrememly grubby with spider webs and dead insects everywhere - inside and outside. Needs a deep clean - Dishwasher is poor so had to hand clean everything - Only one spray of surface cleaner left, 3 dishwasher tablets and no cloths - Wifi is patchy at best on the ground and top floor - Worth over £1000 for 3 nights? Not in that state.
Stayed here over bank holiday weekend (aug 2019) and it was fantastic. The house is amazing and in a Perfect location on the lake and the estate is wonderful. Very relaxed and chilled, pub food was lovely as was the spa and all the pools. Very dog friendly and I will define return again. Thanks
We loved our stay in the Summer House. Very well equipped and stylish property in a great location on the estate. The only reason we gave a good rather than excellent rating for comfort is because we stayed during a very hot and sunny week. Being a glass fronted property with no blinds or air conditioning, the upstairs bedroom in particular was unbearably hot at night. Fans were provided but were noisy and seemed to just circulate the warm air rather than cool it.
Great place to stay and highly recommended .... good location, clean and modern apartment with a fab swimming pool .... but I think they are in danger of not knowing when to stop building, as much more and the estate will lose its exclusive feeling.
What a beautiful place. The house is gorgeous, to quote my daughter ‘this is my dream house’ There was a lovely letter and a welcome pack from the owners. Everything we needed was in the house and everything was top quality. The beds were really comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. The outdoor furniture and barbecue were a great addition and we enjoyed having meals al fresco. The house comes with an activity package which was well used by our 23,21 and 19 year old. It was so nice to just go down to the lake whenever we wanted to get a paddle board or kayak. No booking, paying extra....more
Great family holiday. Safe environment for the kids to run and explore Would certainly recommend to friends and family
Our family had a wonderful weekend at the Swallows. The house was so lovely and well presented. It was perfect for all of us, our ages from 17 months to 70 years. Safe and comfortable for everyone. The separate childrens play room was very popular with our 4 and 6 year olds. The main living area on the first floor enabled us to all be together and the views from the rear balcony were stunning. The front balcony was not quite so comfortable as it could possible benefit from a thorough clean to remove the bugs and webs from what looks like a bit of an invasion of bugs and spiders. However that ...more
The house is in a great location at Lower Mill Estate and the views are superb. The contemporary design is very appealing and I miss the house already! The owners have decorated with flair and created a beautiful holiday home. I would recommend trimming the trees and shrubs in the garden next to the lagoon as the view is compromised from the main bedroom. Lower Mill Estate is run impeccably and the environment couldn't be better designed. My only disappointment with our stay was the rampant and invasive weed which has taken over Somerford Lagoon and Clearwater Lake this year. We brought o...more
Lamplight was perfect for us as a family with two young children. We had an enclosed decking which meant we could keep the doors open without worrying about the children going too close to the water. The living area was spacious and open plan and we were a short walk from all facilities. We would definitely book this property again.
The house was enjoyed by all and with so many activities within the area all had a fun filled time. The house was very well equipped catering well for six adults and four active boys. Only issue was that some light sleepers found that they did not have complete blackout in the first floor bedrooms( Going to bed earlier meant they got enough sleep). All are keen to return again next year so thumbs up. Many thanks
This was our first time to the Cotswolds Water park, Habitat Escapes and our accommodation, Barn Owls. Barn Owls is a lovely barn style property - light, airy and well furnished with a stunning outlook over Howell's Mere. All the estate lakes are scenic (and lovely for a swim) and we found some lovely walks with our dog. We arrived to perfect weather and soon noticed there was no parasol on the south facing balcony. We notified the management office and a new one was delivered the next day - much to our relief as it was the hottest day of the year. Very good service. The spa is lovely, but ...more
We had an enjoyable stay for a family celebration. Lower Mill Estate is lovely with very diverse recreation opportunities. Good things : wildlife, somerford lagoon canoeing, swimming pool, cycling and walking. Less good things : late cleaning on arrival, shabby furnishings in main living area, poor kitchen layout, lack of lake view from ground floor, barely value for money at the price. The interface between cars and pedestrians is crowded and poor - it seemed even dangerous at times.
We stayed at Bittern Reeds with our 4 small children (7,5 and twins 2). The accommodation was clean and spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved the balcony overlooking the lake from the open plan kitchen/sitting room giving us beautiful views. We enjoyed staying on Lower Mill Estate. There are few cars driving around so it is lovely for the kids cycling and scooting. We loved the swimming pools and we enjoyed having a drink outside the café while the kids played in the small playground or on the football pitch and made friends with other kids staying at the same time. We had a lovely holiday at 118. We filled the house with three generations and had masses of room for everyone because the house is so spacious. Slightly tricky having to take everything up to the roof for a bbq but once there it was great. A bit of extra gravel along the paths around the lakes would have made walks a bit easier for those with walking sticks. It had been very rainy, so some points were completely waterlogged and flooded. Take wellies even in August ! That said it was a beautiful house and a great location. The spa was wonderful for the rainy days. The pools were a ple...more
We had a lovely stay at Hazy Blue and loved the Lower Mill Estate. The apartment suited our needs as a family of 5 well, and once the kids were in bed, we enjoyed time on the balcony overlooking the lake. The apartment is in a great location for all the amenities there are on site and we would definitely stay there again.
We rented this property for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend for our party of 6 adults and 4 children, and found it perfect for our requirements. The views from the living room and balcony were green and tranquil and the house was more than comfortable throughout, with very adequate bedrooms, bathrooms and en-suites plus a well-equipped kitchen. A big bonus was the roof area with a large table and plenty of seating plus a BBQ and safe play area for the children. We were close to the spa and enjoyed the facilities - it was lovely to have decently-heated pools indoors and out, and there were s...more
Our first visit and the property was worked extremely well for three generations. Perhaps one of the rooms on the ground floor could be twin bedded. well equipped house , lovely terraces with comfy furniture and fabulous views.
A bijou property in centre of Silverlake. Although there are two bedrooms there is only one bathroom and that is en-suite to the main bedroom. The second bedroom has bunk beds so probably ok for two small children that would use the parents bathroom (shower only). It was great for a weekend stay and we enjoyed the walks, the spa and the general area.
We really enjoyed our stay in Siskin House. The house was well equipped and there was lots of room for us all. We made the most of the local surroundings, walking, swimming and canoeing. We were a bit sad that the hedge was so overgrown as it meant we saw less from the living room than we would like, and it made the garden very dark. We had a few issues with bathroom doors and toilets but these were repaired as best as they could be during our stay.
21 of us gathered for a special birthday split over two houses. The booking system and assistance received throughout the process was good. The house provided all we expected and more. It was a most successful weekend supported by the local spa and playground areas.
Our family had a very enjoyable stay at Bittern Lodge. We really liked the setting of The Lower Mill Estate and all the facilities provided. The staff at the Activity Hub were particularly helpful and we spent a wonderful day trying out paddleboarding on Somerford lake. Bittern Lodge was well equipped and incredibly light and spacious and very comfortable for our family of ten. In particular, the grandchildren spent happy times on both the trampoline and the front porch swings. The table football was enjoyed by all.
We were impressed by the house and were particularly pleased with the accommodation. Being a group of 10 we thought it could be a bit tight however this was not the case. All the rooms were clean and nicely furnished. The top floor was really good being an open plan kitchen diner and lounge. It meant we could eat and relax either inside or outside on one of the balconies. The glassware needs replacing . It was quite unpleasant to drink wine out of a misty plastic cup. In addition the outside of the house desperately needs repainting. Overall we were very happy.
Unit showing signs of wear and tear.. sofa is tired, carpet needs changing. Unkept hedge obscuring view from decking which previously we had seen from the same unit Carparking numbers out of sequence ‘v’ spot closer than 107 to the property Access to the unit is through 3 doors which we didn’t use, using back door for entrance, as did others Feel of lower mills is very clean, well organised, safe, children can cycle freely around the estate Facilities are well kept .. tennis courts, outdoor and indoor pools Dog walking on the door step We all had a lovely week!
We had a super family holiday at Reflections. The house is beautiful and spacious and set in a great location.
Tischler House is an absolutely fantastic house set on the edge of Somerford lagoon with direct access to the water. The property also has it's own swimming pool. The view across the lagoon from the house and garden is great, and would be especially spectacular when migrating birds are on the move in the autumn. The house was very tidy and clean when we arrived and well appointed with modern kitchen and bathrooms. Having the private pool was great, but the pool cover could do with replacing to make it a bit easier to cover the pool at night. Really enjoyed the week, would visit again.
Lovely apartment with fabulous balcony. Spoilt by owners extra things being present e.g a chair that doesn't go with decor and takes up space, foldaway bed etc. The main wardrobe full of clothes so limited space to put your things. It is likeAirbnb. Less is more and the fake flowers and clutter even on the balcony walls, diminish the aesthetic of the place. When the apartment below is having a bbq, you cannot use this balcony as you get completely smoked out. It is most frustrating when you have just served up tea and everything and everyone has to retreat inside. ...more
The flat was well presented and very clean but £575 was very expensive for what it was when you can compare against Centre Parcs. Customer service and help when booking was exceptional and everyone was I incredibly helpful but we were disappointed with the vale for money element
Top class facilities in a mixed aged party.Very clean property with everything you need to make stay very enjoyable.
Overall we had an excellent week and were generally pleased with the accommodation. The view of the lake was great but the cleanliness of a very well-equiped kitchen could have been a little better for what was an expensive holiday. We would return again but perhaps to a different property.
We had a really good stay in the Cotswolds on Lower Mill Estate. The complex itself was very nice, lots to do for kids and a good cafe/bar/restaurant. The apartment was good and cleaned well but both the sofa and carpet have quiet a few staines from previous visits - the BBQ is also heavily rusted and unusable. All in all a very good stay, service from Habitat was great and we will come back, just maybe to a different apartment.
Fantastic location with beautiful surroundings and great views. Onsite facilities great with lovely restaurant and swimming pool/spa. Great for the whole family. Property was clean and nicely decorated with everything you could need. We will be back!
We had a lovely weekend celebrating birthdays across three generations. The house was great with plenty of space for six adults and four young children and we really enjoyed the swimming pools, especially the lovely warm outdoor pool in March! Great for an out of season break but imagine it might get very busy in the pools and the restaurant at peak periods. Only problem with the house was that some of the bedrooms were very hot but then no heat in the master bedroom and bathroom. Very well equipped house but would have been good to know in advance that there was a Nespresso machine and ha...more
The property had everything in it that we needed and the outside space was a bonus. Let down by noise from neighbours as insulation between flats appeared to not be great. Lovely place, we will be back to Lower Mill, but won't stay in a flat next time!
House was somewhat tired and needed decorations. Parking was was too far from the property to carry luggage in and out. Should be more accessible.
Everything about Reid Villa was great minus a couple of small items. The floors were not as clean as I would’ve expected and the kitchen could’ve been a little better stocked with trivets to put hot items on. A hugely positive item was the mattress in the main bedroom. I struggle with back pain and so going on holiday is always a nightmare with very hard or uncomfortable mattresses, but this was not the case at Reid Villa - I have never slept better!!
Perfect settings for a weekend getaway. Plenty of activities, untouched nature, views for days - cant go wrong. We will be back soon.
Excellent property for our needs - a family over three generations with four children. Spacious living area and well equipped kitchen. Master bedroom had very good storage but there were no wardrobes elsewhere on the first floor, or any shower except in the en suite bathroom. Lovely outside space with decking and lawn, plenty of seating and large barbecue. We enjoyed the facilities on the estate with swimming pools, tennis courts and table tennis all free. The children made good use of the multi-use games area. Would definitely consider coming again.
Nice property with excellent views spoilt a little by the close proximity of adjacent buildings with neighbours sitting on adjacent balconies only feet away and able to hear clearly all conversations and see into the property. Patio was not cleaned and this had to be requested as it was filthy as was the BBQ Extractor did not work in the bathroom and several of the insect panels on the doors were broken Overall a great site and great place for a family weekend however the big brother CCTV camera observing us in the hallway was not appreciated Well equipped accommodation and recommended...more
Arrived at Silverlake on the wettest day of the summer, but when we entered the house, it was warm and welcoming. My wife had brought alot of kitchen equipment, which we then found was already supplied. The rooms were clean and everything was ready for us. A lovely house in a great location.
My husband and myself and son and daughter and their families. 8yr old, two 5 year olds and a two year old to celebrate my 70th!! We all settled in easily and everyone embraced the facilities. The first day Saturday we all bicycled the trail to the Waterhole .What a stunning and magical spot spot and had a whale of a time on the zipwire. We took a picnic with us. Pond dipping , super log swing. A magical place. On return the kyaks, paddleboard, were retrieved ( after donning life vests ). Over to the beach! Barb b cue. Use of beautiful heated swimming pool. A very good place to bring the grandchildren who loved the availability of the various swimming pools and activities. Nice property the only criticism being for a house that sleeps 10 there was not enough seats for eating together both inside and out and a lack of plates etc. However the experience we all had was good and I would recommend it.
Cosy accomodation. Limited outside seating which was a shame in such nice weather. Barbecue was unusable as so dirty and 2 saunas out of action.. Location great especially for the Cotswold triathlon at lake opposite.
Great family weekend in Water Park. Lovely venue for getting together with all ages and house provided a perfect base.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our week at Puffin House and we would recommend this property to other travellers just be mindful that minor items can be a bit irritating. For example, the WiFi is slow and doesn't cover all the rooms (although they were in the process of installing fibre whilst we were there); Insufficient mugs and teaspoons means washing up several times daily; couldn't find the BBQ tools so had to buy some; food storage area in the kitchen very poor as all the cupboards had been filled with bowls/dishes/baking trays meaning that our stuff was all on display; the fridge is sma...more
Having lost my father quite suddenly and buried him the day before we came to Thistledown, it was the perfect escape to rest, reflect and remember. My dad would have loved it! My mum did love it! The spa was tranquil and the therapists were very compassionate. They were very accommodating when we had to change our treatment dates because we were arriving a day late. The little extras of tea and biscuits, toiletries and logs for the fire were so appreciated. We wish the circumstances had been different. However, we felt so looked after through email and telephone communication and face t...more
Dragonfly is a lovely apartment. Although 2 bedrooms, the second bedroom is very small - with no wardrobe or dressing table area. i traveled with my mum and had to put all my clothes in her wardrobe and any toiletries/make up etc were just on the floor in my room, so not ideal. I would say this apartment is most suited to a couple who would use the second bedroom as a store for cases,or travelling with a young child who did not need their own wardrobe space. The balcony would be lovely with some comfy outdoor chairs rather than just outdoor dining table/chairs.
Outside the property lacked tlc. The windows, decking and outside furniture were all dirty and had not been cleaned for weeks/months. The internal space was modern and clean with wooden floors throughout the downstairs and light coloured, reasonably new carpets on the upper floors. Bathrooms were clean and modern. The light in the downstairs toilet did not work and despite a call and a visit from the agent was not fixed during our stay. The fan in the master bedroom en-suite was also inoperative, again reported but not fixed during our stay. The house had a small grassed area which backed ...more
House should be stunning but cleanliness poor. Also problem with spider and fly infestation! Had to resort to cleaning myself on more than one occasion. One of the dining chairs was broken so could not be used. I could go on...... Certainly not worth the high rental figure.
The house was lovely, very well equipped and ideal for the dog with the small enclosed garden. Location of house close to Spa, pool and activity hub but also close to huge metal storage building (painted with Gruffalo on) and building on next phase started at 8am each morning. Facilities were great - we had the pool to ourselves most times we visited (everyday). Had lovely sandwiches for lunch in the bar. Hopefully once more properties are occupied the bar will extend menu. Silverlake was close to lots of points of interest / things to do within 20 mins drive.
4 adults,4 children staying for halfterm.Wonderful house, spacious with plenty of room to spread out especially fond of roof terrace.Excellent standard throughout with great ensuites and kitchen amenities.Only couple of points to mention as considering the quality throughout, the master bedroom bed was not comfortable at all as myself and wife had bad backs after only one night, and the extractor caught four of us out as we hit our heads. Otherwise had a great few days enjoying and exploring the walking/cycling trails on the estate and the two swimming pools and other activities big his with t...more
Ar £1600 for two nights stay, I expected a certain level of cleanliness and facility. Not filthy outside staircases, dirty and stained rooftop furniture, and wardrobes in the master bedroom and kitchen drawers filled with the personal possessions of the owners, thus preventing their use. We had to live out of our suitcases. Totally non-acceptable. What I had hoped would be a wonderful experience for my family to celebrate an important occasion was a complete disappointment.
Spent 8 days here with our family with age range 16 to 74 all 5 of us had a great time. Walking, water sports, outdoor swimming pool, tennis all on site plus this property gives you free access to the spa and fitness centre that has gym and in door and out door pool. We used it every day and paid extra for massages and beauty treatments. Lots of lovely village pubs around with really delicious food not just ordinary pub grub!
We stayed in Dunnock House over Easter Weekend. This was not the house we had booked online; that house was apparently double booked. We appreciate that Habitat found another house for us. However, the outside area was quite dirty. We did not use the outdoor dining area at all because it was so dirty.
