We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Leat over the Christmas break. The apartment looked lovely when we arrived on Xmas Eve. A beautiful wreath hung on the front door, stockings (with chocolates!) hung from the beams in the lounge and there was even a bottle of champagne in the kitchen for us. The apartment was very clean and well equipped and Vanessa had put in some extra cutlery and chairs as she knew we were seeing family during our stay. There were excellent dog walks from the front door, and Vanessa had left us details of where to go. A wonderful place to be .... we really enjoyed it.
The Byres is well appointed and beautifully decorated. It is located in a quiet, quaint and friendly historic village, away from the hustle and bustle of the commercialised Cotswolds tourist towns. We truly appreciated this haven, it was the perfect base for my husband and I and our two adult children. Many thanks!
The plan was to use the cottage as a base to walk the 100 mile Cotswolds Way - using our son as the taxi driver rather than faffing about how far we could go each day and try and book accommodation etc. Worked really well, returning every evening for a shower or bath with endless really hot water, and meal (best equipped kitchen we've come across) and watch a film/Netflix in the very comfortable lounge- but after 4 days & 50 miles - almost halfway - Chipping Camden to Painswick - decided we wanted to enjoy the cottage more and spend time reading/ chilling and doing local walks ( we had a do...more
This cottage was perfect. The location - on a fairly quiet street just steps away from the Windrush River in the historical center of Bourton on the Water - can't be beat. A listed historical home, it was in beautiful condition, filled with character, yet equipped with all the conveniences and supplies needed for a perfect stay. We especially loved the gas fireplace and the comfortable beds. Guests should be aware that the staircase steps are narrow - use the handrail. We didn't use the back garden - too early in the year, but it looked delightful as well. We did make use of the washing...more
Lovely 2 night stay. Very comfortable cottage, easy to find. The 2 parking spaces were very welcome. The cottage was spotless. The beds were very comfortable both the king size and the singles. There was a welcome bottle of wine and milk in the fridge. The kitchen was very well equipped - we brought some food to cook for the first night - everything we could have wanted and more was there. At night it was so quiet and peaceful - only an owl hooting. WiFi worked well a must with teenagers! Netflix was popular. The coffee maker was a big hit too. We visited the surrounding villages doing the...more
Fabulous stay at Teagles cottage again. Our second visit. Such a good location. Very well stocked kitchenware, glasses etc. Welcome cake and wine a lovely touch. The beds were extremely comfortable.
lovely cottage, great location ( close to Bibury and not far from Cotswold wildlife park). very family friendly.
This stunningly restored home was perfect for our family of 8 week’s stay over New Year! Bar the stairs, not many, but a bit unwieldy, this house, it’s decoration and contents are as luxurious as one would find in a 5 star hotel! So cosy as well! We loved it, were sad to leave and would certainly return!
special property in great location special property in great location special propert in great location
This holiday cottage is very comfortable & it is good that all the upstairs rooms are en-suite. The kitchen is well equipped for those who are spending more time self-catering. When we noted there were not quite enough matching wine glasses for our in-house celebratory dinner, the owner very rapidly provided more. My brother-in-law is wheel-chair bound & the ground floor accommodation was very accessible in all areas. He also found the size of the downstairs wet room & toilet good. There are good-quality grab rails by the toilet & in the shower. In the downstairs bedroom there was an electr...more
Lovely cottage near Sudeley Castle in the village of Winchcombe. Very clean. Perfect location for day trips throughout the lovely Cotswolds. Highly recommend it.
Loved my stay here , the host was so helpful and the house was beautiful and so comfortable. The only issue I had was with transportation, taxis were so hard to contact but all in all I really enjoyed myself
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, the cottage itself was very comfortable and spacious and the position was ideal for the centre of Winchcombe with its shops, tea rooms and restaurants. We didn’t have to use the card at all as various walks were on the doorstep.
Visiting from Australia, i arranged for my sisters and my husbands brother to stay with us at the farmhouse. It was very comfortable and spacious. Access to the Cotswolds Way immediately across the road and the visit to Sudely Castle was great. I would certainly consider staying there again.
Great private location with easy walk into town and the castle grounds. Comfortable and well stocked. A perfect combination of historic building with modern fixtures. Very comfortable for our dog.
This cottage is of exceptional quality. The decor is very attractive, it is very well equipped and the condition of everything is excellent. The bathrooms are stunning. It was very clean and with pleasant fragrances throughout. There were only three of us and we were only there two nights but it is clearly suitable for bigger parties and longer stays. The back garden is a good size and with great views. A useful addition would be a movement sensitive light at the back so that when returning at night from the parking area you can see where to go. The village is quiet with no shops/pubs but Bro...more
Beds were extremely comfortable and the bedding provided was fresh and very warm. Kitchen was very well equipped. Overall the property was comfortable even though the bedrooms were very cold despite the heating being on.
Great home comforts, plenty of space for six/seven people. Everything to a high spec. Location ideal for pubs/restaurants and walks, without being in the middle of tourist hot spots.
Excellent accommodation in excellent location, close to restaurants, pubs, shops, museums etc. Beautiful secluded walled garden
Beautiful, light, airy and peaceful apartment with everything you could need for a wonderful holiday. Minutes from the lovely village of Winchcombe and a short footpath walk across the field to Sudeley Castle and all the attractions it offers for children and adults alike. Highly recommend.
A good conversion of a little barn with thick walls and lots of character. Very close to 417Flyup Mountain Bike Park. Was aware of the A417 quite close. Great to have lots of little logs for the woodburner. View from the velux over the valley below is lovely. We didn't use the garden but it looked good and in keeping with the rest of the charming property.
The cottage has been updated since our last stay here and is much improved. The two bedrooms have en suites with showers. One of the settees can be converted to sleep two. Kitchen well kitted out including Nespresso machine. Induction hob. Plain white china. Small bottle of milk and some biscuits was appreciated. Cottage was lovely and warm and plenty of hot water. Outdoor area could be smartened up a bit.
We very much enjoyed our stay - but had a few issues with the cottage. The main problem was the heating - the instructions provided were poor and it seemed random whether it was on or off. The lack of hand towels was unhelpful. Also a large pan would have been useful. We still had a lovely time - what a great location.
We had the best stay at Sudeley Castle cottages. It is the perfect location, with great amenities, and Winchcombe is just idyllic and with fantastic shops. The tour of the Castle is an added bonus too. We will definitely be looking at returning, our dog Barney loved it also.
Comfortable in general but for people of normal weight, we found the beds were rather too hard and left us feeling a little bruised and stiff. The upstairs bathroom was good except that the power of the shower was quite low and squirted in all directions. The downstairs shower was good but the basin was almost unusable being so small. I had to wash in the kitchen sink. Despite the unseasonal weather and points listed above, we enjoyed our stay. The location was lovely and conveniently situated.
We absolutely loved this property and unreservedly recommend it. It was a great location, Winchcombe is just the right size with enough conveniences to make one's stay comfortable. Free access to Sudeley Castle was a very nice bonus as well. The kitchen had everything we could need, the rooms were very well done and the bath was spotless. A completely charming place - would definitely come back again.
This is a charming cottage in a perfect setting; we awoke to a view from the bedroom of a brook running by and birds singing. Winchcombe is a perfect centre for exploring the Cotswolds and is itself a pretty village. There is plenty of history around, and many walks to explore. Free entry to the castle, only a short walk across the field, was a boon. We visited several times. The cottage was very clean and finished to a very high standard- wooden beams, solid wood furniture, comfortable settees and good facilities. There was ample parking on site too. We were surprised that there didn't appear...more
This home is in an amazing location with a delightful exterior. On the inside it is homely and spacious without being special. We enjoyed our stay here, thoroughly enjoyed the Cotswold's and made the most of free entry to the castle. The kitchen has everything you could need and more and the bathrooms are a good size and clean. I didn't find the bed comfortable and the curtains didn't keep out enough light for the kids to sleep past the 4:30am sunrise. That said I'd stay here again if the opportunity arose.
Warm welcome, easy few minutes walk to the local pub which is excellent. The cottage has everything you need, very cosy and great location for exploring the Cotswolds.
Enjoyed our stay in Lord High Admiral which was cosy and comfortable. Lovely spacious bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, although you couldn’t have both bathrooms in use at same time due to water pressure issues. Mysteriously we couldn’t find the dishwasher which was listed as being there. There was a note about filling it in the cottage but all we could find was a washing machine! However we were more than happy with our stay and would return.
Lovely location, decor a little tired but great place to stay during Cheltenham Festival. Very close to Sudeley Castle.
Excellent stay, photos and descriptions very accurate. Easy communication, would highly recommend. Many thanks.
I saw the the castle and garden's on the BBC country file programme, and thought it would be a perfect surprise for my wife ,who loves the whole history of the Tudor's and Plantagenet ,kings and queens. We had a truly wonderful time visiting all the garden's exploring the castle and the local village of Winchcombe and enjoying the View's from Belas Knapp ancient burial mound, and enjoying the fantastic weather.
Stayed many times at these cottages, just felt that at 6ft 2” the bed was to short and the mattress very uncomfortable, other than that it’s a great place to stay.
Excellent stay, photos and descriptions very accurate. Easy communication, would highly recommend. Many thanks.
What a stunning property! The standard of cleanliness was great. Very spacious property, more than enough of our group of 10 adults. A quirky, creative, spacious space that is just so special. Adam, the owner, was very lovely too. Highly recommend, look no further!
Apart from the kitchen and bathroom the lighting is very poor making it difficult for reading in living areas and bedrooms. Some power points awkward to access as behind furniture. Minor decoration needed. Back door could not be locked with key as some wood missing on door jamb. Laundry not mentioned anywhere in information but I knew where it was as I had been last year. My second visit and would come again but some improvements to the cottage would be appreciated.
Excellent location in village despite noisy, busy road. Close to Highgrove and Westonbirt Arboretum. A lot smaller than shown in the photographs. Floors uneven as with many properties of this age but added to the charming character of the house. Full of interesting 'objet d'art' and antiques, but leaves little room for guest's belongings etc. A few hooks behind doors wouldn't go amiss as would a few drawers. Dining is very tight for 4 adults. Couldn't use the open fire but central heating was adequate and hot water was plentiful. There were a few issues which the owner promptly sorted. Comfy, ...more
