We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Leat over the Christmas break. The apartment looked lovely when we arrived on Xmas Eve. A beautiful wreath hung on the front door, stockings (with chocolates!) hung from the beams in the lounge and there was even a bottle of champagne in the kitchen for us. The apartment was very clean and well equipped and Vanessa had put in some extra cutlery and chairs as she knew we were seeing family during our stay. There were excellent dog walks from the front door, and Vanessa had left us details of where to go. A wonderful place to be .... we really enjoyed it.
Fantastic place. Great location and lovely barn conversion. Close to lots within the Northern parts of the Cotswolds
What a beautiful piece of the world. This little cottage did not disappoint. I fell in love with this village a decade ago on an accidental visit and was so excited to come back. It is a wonderful place that was very easily enjoyed from this superb location. We had a little glitch with the key code number changing, but one quick call and we were straight in. Thank you!
We had everything we needed. The house was beautifully presented with a great welcome pack of home made goodies. Wonderful hosts.
Such a delightful cottage with everything - and more - to feel at home. Wish we could stay longer...
Really comfortable accommodation and well equipped. Very pretty garden, pity about the rain. Perfect for family staying over for a party.
Well equipped, nice extra touches, good clean bathroom, comfy beds, good communication with friendly owners.
A great new build in a lively quaint village. House is very well equipped and perfect for the 7 of us . Loved the fact all of us had our own bathroom . Having full Sky HD with sport was great for our sports mad family A spotlessly clean very modern and comfortable house in great location 2 small quibbles All of us found mattresses very firm which would have been ok if pillows weren’t incredibly uncomfortable. Would be good to supply a dishcloth and scourer . Every rental has always had this Just also note on info . Says keys for back patio doors in draw when in 2nd Key Safe . Ot...more
Had a great weekend spent at Teagles cottage. Perfect location & cottage was fabulous. Couldn't have wished for better.
Meadow View is exactly that. Cows from the neighbouring farm almost joined us for drinks in the garden. A comfortable, clean, well appointed house in a lovely small village with an excellent pub. 2 small irritations occurred without which would have made the stay perfect, the fridge alarm bleeped continuously and though reported did not get fixed & the toilet seats were loose & need tightening.
This is a stunning historical property that is bigger than it appears from the front. Set in a beautiful unspoilt village with plenty of places to eat and drink. Everything you need is In the house from condiments to towels and soap. The owners and caretakers were really pleasant and this is a great location to explore the area. The furnishings and finishes are everything you would hope for in a period property. Great house
The cottage is beautifully decorated with antique furniture and art and it also looks fresh and clean. It was a lovely touch to have some breakfast items supplied so we didn't need to rush out in the morning. The garden is very pretty and a nice spot to sit.
Great location with everything local for activities, restaurants/pubs & many places to walk. House benefits with ample parking and many facilities.
The cottage was spacious and well equipped. A very comfortable lounge with WiFi and Netflix being appreciated We really enjoyed visiting Burford and all the surrounding villages as they are so picturesque
We absolutely loved this house and was perfect for our girls weekend. The kitchen was a great space for the entire group of 9 to socialise in. The grounds were stunning and the local town was very great for local walks. We got a taxi to The Boxing Hare restaurant which was a perfect way to spend Saturday eve. The food and setting was outstanding. We all can’t wait to go back !
The Cottage was was nice, but a few items that were supposed to be left for us were not there. An investment in some new pillows would be would be great, maybe next time I will take my own! The 4pm check-in was a little late as we had been on the road for nearly 5hrs and just wanted to get there. A later check-out would be nice too, 10am is a little early. There was very little information at the cottage about things of interest to do-I did at the end find brochures/leaflets in the Telephone box in the main square! All in all is was a nice trip.
We absolutely loved our stay at Maisey Cottage - we stayed for a long week Mr while attending w wedding in a neighbouring village. We would definitely recommend the cottage it was impeccably clean and owner was super friendly and helpful! We will definitely be coming back!
We had a wonderful stay at the Chapel. It’s a luxurieus and beautiful holiday home. Absolutely nothing is missing. Great location!
14 Vine Street is very cosy. Situated at the bottom of a hilly road to Sudeley Castle. We were attending a wedding at the castle so only stayed there for 2 nights but we couldn't fault it. I'd recommend it to anyone requiring time in a quaint village with just enough amenities. Not an area for those with mobility difficulties.
Extremely friendly and helpful host! Really nice and tastfully decorated cottage, very clean and family friendly!
Wonderful place. 13 of us. All had excellent bedrooms mostly ensuite with plenty of reception space and lots of parking. Gardens were great with river at one side and 'safe for youngsters' area (about half acre) sealed off with separate access. Free pass to castle very handy, spent all of one day there. Winchcombe nice little town but eating out expensive. Definitely recommend.
The castle gatehouse is an amazing place to stay. So close to winchcombe which is a very pretty town. Everything you need is in the house. Clean spacious warm and comfortable. Unfortunately our arrival was stressful as we were given the wrong code and no one was available to help. No communication from anyone after phone call and email . Poor customer service.
The cottage was beautifully laid out in a courtyard setting and with village amenities close to hand
Great home comforts, plenty of space for six/seven people. Everything to a high spec. Location ideal for pubs/restaurants and walks, without being in the middle of tourist hot spots.
Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Well equipped with everything you need and a few minutes from the castle and lovely town of winchcombe. Will definitely be back!
We enjoyed our stay at Box Cottage, finding that it was well represented in photos and description. The location was excellent, being a one minute walk from the picturesque Main Street and a short stroll to the supermarket. The cottage was clean and provided all the facilities we needed. Our only negative comment would be that many light globes were not working, leading to some areas which were somewhat dark. I found the bedding/ mattress comfortable, however my wife considered them yo be too hard.
The cottages were beautfiful inside and out. They are very close to the castle, whereby we walked across a field of sheep, that my kids absolutely loved. The town is only a few minutes' walk, which was very convenient for meals and snacks. The town itself is very nice, and our trip to the castle was amazing. The suite had all the required amenities, including laundry, which was helpful on our long trip. It was a perfect place to stay, and our only regret was that we didn't book a longer stay.
A good conversion of a little barn with thick walls and lots of character. Very close to 417Flyup Mountain Bike Park. Was aware of the A417 quite close. Great to have lots of little logs for the woodburner. View from the velux over the valley below is lovely. We didn't use the garden but it looked good and in keeping with the rest of the charming property.
Perfect location for a walking holiday with footpaths from the door. Lovely house with all the basics provided. View from second floor wonderful. Only comment is that the house is looking a bit tired in places and could do with some redecoration, not quite what I expected for the price.
A spotlessly clean cottage with every amenity to a high standard and all that is required to enjoy a stress free, peaceful holiday. The location is perfect, it feels very safe and is within easy reach of all the Cotswold attractions. Situated within walking distance of the superb Sudeley Castle is a much valued bonus. Very well recommended
Sudeley Castle is a must visit and lovely walks. Beds would ideally be bigger. Otherwise very nice.
We absolutely LOVED your cottage and all the attention to detail in its renovation and design for the comfort of its occupants. We'd definitely return for a future stay, enjoyed the pub on the corner and convenience to other villages. We weren't able to access the wifi. That's not a bad problem by any means. Good to have a break from it, but the instructions to access it didn't work for us.
Had a wonderful week in Westerleigh cottage. Modern, with a high level of finishin and lots of authentic details. We missed a possibility to dry laundry outside.
Four of us stayed for 2 nights, great location for Sudeley Castle, Cottage homely, clean and in excellent condition Kitchen is very well equipped everything you would need for a few days stay Another plus is High Street is just 5 minutes walk
Really liked the lady Jane grey cottage , very clean and neat and everything you needed was in it . But I would have liked a few more tea and coffee bags as we were only there for 1.5 days and a little welcome pack would have been a lovely idea for us ( it doesn’t cost much but is a really nice touch ) . The cottage was very noisy in the early hours - could hear people over us walking around as if they were in our own house , floors v creaky so were woken up ard 6.30 both mornings as others were up then . I couldn’t regulate the shower on the first day as it was v stiff and hard to move back t...more
Sudeley Castle is a couple of mins walk and entrance was included with the price of the cottage. The castle is fantastic. Surrounding area is good with access to Cheltenham, Broadway, Bourton-on-Water, Stow-on-the-wold all worth visiting. Cottage itself was clean and comfortable although would have preferred a better sofa. Has a Blu-ray player but no disks provided as far as I could see. En-suite from bedroom has two steps down into it which could be hazardous at night. Milk and provisions when we arrived was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Local shops are more drivable than walkable i...more
The master bedroom bed is only a double and has bed frame that makes it impossible for a tall person to sleep. The room has plenty of room to make a true “double” by taking the two twins beds to the master and combining them into a large bed. The double, along with another twin, could provide sufficient beds in the other room. We loved getting out in the country for the fresh air and opened our room up while we went to Sudeley Castle . Unfortunately, someone next to Sudeley Castle started a large burning fire and it smoked up the place until we could return and close it back up! Our CPA...more
Excellent stay, photos and descriptions very accurate. Easy communication, would highly recommend. Many thanks.
Sweet cottage. When we visited the roses out front were in full bloom. Great location, walking to everything in town and price includes entry to Sudley Castle and gardens. Our one suggestion would be putting up a rack or shelf in the shower to place soap/shampoo on, otherwise very awkward in there.
Really lovely cottage and so clean. Handy for village centre which is a 5 minute walk away and for local walks - no need to drive anywhere to do parts of the Cotswold Way, Winchcombe and Gloucestershire Ways. Sudley Castle is a fantastic place to visit and entry is free whilst staying in the cottages. One small niggle was that we didn’t expect there to be a flat above us and hence there was some noise heard whilst upstairs. Luckily there were two nights when it was empty! May be helpful to explain this better in the cottage description as I wasn’t aware . Otherwise great 5 night stay there....more
A superb cottage in an dream loctrion in a heavenly town. Only problem was the uncountable cobwebs and spiderwebs all around the exteriors of the cottages at all levels. Am sure something can be done about it. But having said that a definite must visit and must stay. Had a memorable time with my family. Cheers
As we arrived at Charles I on an extremely wet June afternoon, we were delighted that the heating was efficient and quickly warned the rooms. The cottage was welcoming - there was an excellent information book which was comprehensive. The kitchen was well designed and provided everything needed for self-catering. We enjoy cooking 'from scratch' when on holiday and found the kitchen had all we needed. The bedrooms had excellent lighting including reading lights in both bedrooms. One observation we have is that the double bedroom needed at least one chair (and a handle on the wardrobe door)....more
Lovely weekend. Very comfortable with well equipped kitchen. Could do with having a couple of fans as it gets very warm in hot weather.
Lovely converted property. Well resourced for family with secure garden for small children to play. Needed far more towels for a 6 person stay so take your own.
We loved this house. Perfect place to bring friends together for a wonderful weekend away. The house had everything we needed and was fully equipped for all the guests it can house. Would recommend this to anyone and some of our friends have even recommended it to others already. The only small difficulty is finding the house when you arrive and getting taxi drivers who were happy to fetch us. However, it was lovely being secluded and having our own space in the countryside. Sainsbury’s deliver though - which is great for all your grocery needs!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in tetbury lovely house in a great location for all we wanted to do. We had a couple of niggles the tap in the top bathroom was dripping sow was very hard to turn off. The TV in first floor bedroom had no reception. Also not much room to store any food in the Kitchen all cupboards were full. Best wishes Diane Thompson
When there is a lot to say it’s hard to condense! The property was unsecured on arrival and had to remain so for the duration of our stay as the owner could not be contacted to reset the electronics. We subsequently learnt he was camped out in the shed (having tossed its contents into the drive)! That alone tells you how this review is going to go. None of the toilet facilities worked properly, with constant running water and poor flushing and one of the en-suite was actually unusable having been disconnected. The kitchen floor was filthy, there was washing left in the drier, personal...more
First impressions were positive, a spacious cottage and a good layout. Unfortunately things started to unravel! After arriving in the evening, we decided to sit on the decking to relax and sit in the sun. Very quickly we noticed a lot of broken glass between the slats of the decking but on deeper inspection there was a lot of glass shards on the decking top. Immediately we moved from the decking to the lawn and called the owner. She arrived within 30 mins and said that the patio table had been smashed the night before and offered to clear the decking. We suggested she did it the following d...more
Much that was good/very good, well appointed, ample space, many more plates, glasses etc than anyone could expect - so a large group could be catered for plus visitors for a party in the garden. So what's less good? While general cleanliness was just about ok, fridges, sinks and other domestic appliances were filthy and off-putting. The once splendid garden is being overtaken by all- consuming weed growth, loose flagstones on paths and steps verge on the dangerous. So a mixed bag; notwithstanding, we had a good time and the property could be tip top with a bit more love.
We enjoyed our stay but found a shortage of large mirrows and plugs for the bedside lights.Hope this feed back will make it better for other opeople .
