Lily Cottage was the perfect place to unplug from real life. I adored the decor in the cottage, a beautiful eclectic mix that really told a story. It was cosy, stocked with little luxuries and very convenient. We found that the village had everything we needed! We stayed with our dog and enjoyed peaceful walks around the estate. I would recommend visiting the local pub (Falkland Arms), Quince and Clover and The Boxing Hare. We had a little moment when we arrived and couldn’t figure out the key safe but fortunately Katie was on hand to help us right away - thank you Katie!
Field View is in a lovely spot down narrow lanes with a fantastic view across fields. Ideal for a very quiet get-away. On our arrival, we found milk, bread, cake, tea and a bottle of rose! Thank you.
A wonderful 2 day stay at Kingscote, everything was perfect including the weather! The house is beautiful and the grounds amazing. The kitchen was well equipped and the table perfect for informal gatherings and meals. We thoroughly enjoyed the splendour of the place and grounds, all beautifully kept and wonderfully clean, in fact the photos do not do it justice. All the bedrooms were a great size and the extra touches of dressing gowns and slippers made it all the more special, bathrooms modern and all well appointed. In fact, it was so good, I am about to book it again .... A big thank you ...more
Beautiful townhouse within the Market Square and close to all the amenities that Stow has to offer. Very spacious kitchen, lounge and master bedroom and great addition to have a basement. High spec facilities made our stay in Stow a memorable one!
Everything about this stay was great. The location, facilities and appliances were all of a high standard.
The accommodation is very spacious, very clean, very quiet, so it is a great place to relax. There are a few reasonable pubs within a short drive where you can eat and drink and Worcester isn't far away. We slept well and really enjoyed our short break there.
We had a lovely 4 day break at The Leat. It is cosy, very comfortable and a great location. There is a lovely walk right from your door along the river. The village is great with lots of eateries. Highly recommend The Birdcage. Loved The old Bell Hotel.
This was our third visit to Candlemakers' Cottage and it was just as special as the last. It is fast becoming our home from home! The dog loves it and is very at home, there are also great walks nearby. We love the location - such a wonderful historic village and it's easy park and is so handy for Bath and exploring the surrounding area. It's the ideal base for us with family nearby and the chance to relax and enjoy the garden, patio and cosy interiors. The beds are so comfy and everything is well-kept and good quality. We highly recommend!
We had a short break in September, and the cottage was beautiful and cosy and is exactly as seen in the photos. It is incredibly well equipped for any length of stay and there has been a lot of thought put into its restoration. Bretforton is a small village and is an ideal quiet base from which to explore the Cotswolds, and I’d recommend the Fleece Inn for beer and dinner! We will be back!
We had a wonderful stay at Court Cottage. The property is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The location is stunning with lovely walks. There is also a very nice pub a 20 minute walk away which does good food, which is a plus. Will definitely stay again!
We loved every moment in Coach House. We did not expect to use the pool but Heather (who is so so so lovely !) kindly opened the pool early, with the nice weather it really made an unforgettable trip in cotswold.
The cottage itself is stunning. Pro's -Location -Quality of the cottage (patio for breakfast, the smart TV, the shower facilities, the cooking facilities, the island, the fridge and freezer, the overall experience of this cottage we will definitely be back. -Little touches upon arrival, biscuits, prosecco, small milk, really added to our stay thank you so much. -Easy instructions on how to access Key etc. Cons -A few spiders but this is to be expected of a stay in the Cotswolds, just be aware of this prior to booking (if you are scared of creepy crawleys) -Bed is very very noisy,...more
We had a lovely time at Cider House. It was very clean tidy and had a perfect garden for dogs. We would throughly recommend to our friends and colleagues
The house was amazing. The beds could be a bit better but outside of that, it was a really cool place to stay. Highly recommended
Stunning location with beautiful views, I couldn't recommend staying here enough! the hut had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The log fired hot tub was fabulous and in the perfect position. The breakfast hamper was a great touch. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back again.
A+ all round, the house was lovely and well appointed, from the kitchen to the bedrooms, the garden was splendid and there was adequate parking for 5 large cars.
This beautiful and well kept cottage is very convenient for the local pubs and restaurants in Stow and a great base to explore the Cotswolds.
We booked one week and wish we had booked two! Our stay was amazing and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be coming back - thank you so much.
We had a wonderful weekend at Hyde Tyning cottage, it was the perfect place for a group of 5 friends to get together. The house was spotless and really well equipped. The provision of luxury handwash, lotion and shampoo, along with robes and slippers made it feel a real treat. The bedrooms are fairly compact but nicely finished and the downstairs area provides plenty of space for cooking, dining and sitting to talk. The British weather was on our side so we could enjoy the patio, which was a bonus. It was great to be able to walk from the door on public footpaths, onto Minchinhampton common ...more
Lovely cottage with quality fixtures and fittings. Good sized bedrooms with comfy beds. The only minor thing is the stairs could be problem for some people as they are quite steep. The few days we spent here we really enjoyed it.
An attractively modernised cottage that was a good base for walks in the attractive Cotswold countryside around Charlbury. The weather was sunny and we were able to use the BBQ in the courtyard garden.
Excellent property, can't fault it. However, the pool could be cleaned more often. Overall, owesome.
We were attending a family wedding near Chipping Camden and wanted an accommodation that’ll be big enough for myself, my wife, two grown up children and our dog. We have used Bolthole retreats previously and we’ve never been disappointed. I’m really glad we chose Stepping Stone cottage as it was perfect for our needs. It’s situated kind of reclusively with a couple of other cottages just before you enter the village of Blockley. I mean this in a positive way, but it didn’t seem to be a holiday accommodation, but a homely retreat with all the creature comforts you might find at your own home ...more
Beautiful house and garden. Plenty of parking. Comfortable beds, very clean, beautiful area, easy booking system and check in. Would highly recommend staying.
Everything was just perfect. A warm welcome. It was our home from home, so convenient for shops, cafes, browsing. Wonderful Indian takeaway round the corner and the delights of listening to Tuesday evening bell ringing practice through our open window. We would love to stay again.
Poplar House is a brand new property in a small cluster of 3 on the edge of Ebrington. My wife and I stayed there for a week with 3 of our adult children and their partners so we had 8 adults in the house and we fitted in very comfortably. The property is literally next door to the village pub and within a few miles of some of the main Cotswolds attractions such as Hidcote Manor Garden (National Trust) and Chipping Campden. Both are within walking distance if you want to do so.
We really enjoyed the Hayloft. it's a very thoughtfully converted property - very clean, and extremely quiet, and beautifully kitted out. The owners are really helpful but also very careful not to intrude on guests' privacy. As others have noted, you do have to be pretty nimble to negotiate the staircase to the sleeping area. Loads to do locally. Highly recommended.
What a fabulous find. This beautiful little cottage is so conveniently located. A short walk from the town centre, where there is a wonderful selection of little shops and cafes. Yet only a ten minute drive from the stunning Malvern Hills. The Conygree Woods are a short stroll away for morning walks if you have a dog. The cottage was very well equipped, with everything we needed during our stay, and the beds were super comfy, with the master bedroom having a super king size, which felt very luxurious! Janet and Peter were quick to greet us on arrival and make us feel very welcome. They live in...more
A beautiful cottage in the heart of Bouton On The Water. The cottage was exceptionally clean, so homely and welcoming. The location is perfect, we would definitely return.
A delightful, comfortable and well equipped cottage in a beautiful quiet village. A short drive or a pleasant walk to Broadway makes this the ideal location for a holiday in the Cotswolds. The cottage has everything you need and there is plenty of room. We really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely return.
We had an excellent time at Stable cottage as a group attending a hen do locally. We were very well-looked after, had a perfect stay and would look forward to going out of our way to book again!
We had a lovely weekend in this delightful cottage. It’s as cosy as it looks on the pictures. The village is beautiful and the church and pub are worth a visit. The cottage was extremely clean and warm and welcoming.
Beautiful character cottage, with high quality kitchen and furnishings throughout. In a great location, parking was a little limited, however the pub over the road allowed us to park in their car park. Had a lovely chat with the friendly owner. Our pug loved his stay too!
A lovely cottage in a lovely part of the world. Good accommodation and a lovely garden. Shame about the phone signal but not the Cottage’s fault!
Percy Street is a great place to stay if you prefer to keep the car on the drive. Close enough to the town and just a mile or so from the Stratford Horse Race track. The property itself was clean and had everything you needed for a staycation. Huge kitchen area for entertaining. Couldn't work out how to get the normal tv channels but had netflix and bbc iplayer. The latter was needed for the Olympic coverage after a hard days sightseeing. No complaints at all from us.
Gorgeous cottage, very comfortable and well equipped. High quality fixtures and fittings. Great location for exploring the Cotswolds. Really enjoyed our stay
Four of us had a lovely girlie stay in Singer House. The location is perfect for restaurants etc. House is cosy with a stunning court yard.
A beautiful property in gorgeous surroundings If I was being really picky, I would say extra table wear ( only 3 dinner plates) and cooking equipment would be useful . We did however have a fabulous holiday with great walks for our dog .
I can’t fault this cottage, it was absolutely gorgeous. The location is central and is 50 feet from the main area of shops and pubs. The beds were comfortable, and the whole cottage was spotless. It was also great to have parking for 3 cars, so no having to stress about that. An excellent stay!
A great base for travelling around and if you are after a tranquil break it is absolutely spot on. The Town (if you can call it that) is so friendly and the little Deli is really welcoming. We have now stayed in the cottage on two occasions and would be more than happy to return.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful location only a short walk to a farm shop and lots of lovely footpaths all around. Cottage looked better than the photos, really cosy and well presented. Only issue was communication - an email prior to the stay was unanswered and the contact person did not reply to a text query about the location of firewood.
We stayed here for a week after not being any where since the start of the pandemic .We would thoroughly recommend this place for a relaxing break as it is pretty central if you wish to explore the Cotswolds..We would definitely stay here again ! The owner was very welcoming and pleasant through out our stay The only criticism we would make when you are staying for a week is that there is a shortage of cleaning products ,towels and crockery in the cupboards .
Lovely house, very comfortable and attractively furnished. Everything that could be needed was found in the kitchen. Nice garden and sitting area.
Stayed at the cottage for our daughter’s wedding which was being held nearby. Very comfortable, exceptionally clean and the lovely garden was a great bonus especially as the weather was very sunny and warm. Four good sized bedrooms , 2 reception rooms and a great kitchen with all you need.
Following 18 months since the start of the COVID pandemic our group of 9 decided that a week away together in a self catering cottage in the Cotswolds would be great. Kingfisher Cottage in Winchcombe did not disappoint. We spent the last week of September there and it proved to be an excellent choice being conveniently close to the town centre which had plenty of places to eat, drink and to see. The cottage was well maintained and provided three good size plus two smaller double rooms, all en-suite. There are also plenty of things to see and do in the area including Sudeley Castle and a vintag...more
Church Cottage is ideally situated on a quiet lane right next to the Church and only moments from the shops on the High Street. Very well furnished with thoughtful extras such as a bluetooth speaker we could use in the garden. Very highly recommended.
Had a lovely time here. The response from the owner was quick to any queries we had. We would come back again. Could benefit by having instructions on how to use tv and local recycling requirements as not enough containers.
Bishops was lovely and a great location for exploring the area. Ledbury itself was lovely too, with lots of independant shops right on the doorstep. We had a lovely stay.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is lovely and cosy and has a home away from home appeal. The village is lovely and quiet and was great to sit in the garden overlooking the field. There were just a couple of bits that need looking at they didn't effect our stay but had to find creative soloutions. So the child lock under the sink does not work and this is where the chemicals are stored. The stairgate does not stay closed so had to block them off with chairs. No upstairs child gate. The plug in the bath does not work properly and the water drained out before my 18 month old had finished. T...more
I have stayed in many bolthole cottages and this one is definitely one of the best. Beautifully presented cottage all rooms decorated to a high standard, well stocked kitchen with decent equipment. Lovely cake & eggs for the stay. Private garden very well kept, good quality patio furniture. Location perfect, very quiet & a great pub down the road. My only criticism no toilet in the en-suite, but I would still stay there again.
I stayed at Hawthorn Cottage with my family, the night before my wedding so this was a very special stay. Overall perfect property, clean, open spaces with natural light as per the photos and high end furnishings with super king size beds, fresh fluffy towels and all the kitchen amenities you could want. My only negative would be that on arrival, the cleaners were still at the property after the given check in time and we were told that we weren’t expected until Friday (the day we were due to check out). This did cause a little stress, however I called bolthole retreats right away, who apolo...more
Really nice place to stay and we all had a great week here. The property has everything, really comfortable, great wifi (we had to do a bit of work whilst here!) everything worked well, lovely seated area outside (when the weather allowed) and v well located for seeing the Cotswolds. Farm shop and cafe just down the road was a big hit too.
Archers cottage at Sudeley Castle is a truly lovely cottage, spacious, great location, a short walk to Winchcombe with its good range of independent shops and cafes. There is a bus service into Cheltenham and it is easy to drive to many other attractions and there are many walks with good views. The cottage was well equipped, clean and suited the multi age family group - 3 months, 2, 30's and 60's. The garden was lovely to sit in and parking was easy. The bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms were comfortable and showers/bath provided good hot water with plenty of towels for each guest. My only ...more
We loved our stay in the Granary - it was a great spot for walks with our pooch, so close to the river and there were lots of good places to get dinners (although opt for collection or know your instructions well for delivery as we ended up on a rescue mission!). There is also a big Tesco near Evesham which is only a quick drive up the road, so you can pick up everything else you need. The kitchen area looked very clean and most of the utensils/cutlery also looked clean. Besides quite a few cobwebs everywhere else also seemed clean too! And cleaning supplies were left, which was really han...more
We really enjoyed our stay at Stable Cottage. It was perfectly located for our exploration of the Cotswolds and when we returned back each day it was to a beautifully decorated warm and cosy cottage. We would thoroughly recommend you stay here.
Along with other family members, we booked several cottages in Winchcombe for the weekend. That meant we saw some of the 'competition' too. 14 Vineyard Street was lovely with plenty of on-street but easily accessible parking. The cottage had everything we needed, with a well-appointed kitchen, plenty of bathrooms and very effective WiFi. My wife and I slept in the guest annex at the end of the garden (- perhaps a 10 metre walk) which was comfortable and pleasant ... although I'd suggest the toilet pan could do with re-securing to the floor and a new seat. It's certainly not unique to 14...more
We stayed here hoping for a relaxing stay after our wedding, we were not disappointed. Both Fiona and Malcolm provided an informative and friendly welcome, then left us to our own devices until we needed some further help. Every time they were so helpful and, even after a red wine accident, they proved that nothing was too much trouble! The accommodation was well equipped, clean, cosy and as fully advertised. Even if the weather was changeable we still enjoyed the views and peace throughout our stay. We also appreciated their advice on local restaurants and pubs and they were all excellent. ...more
The Queens Cottage has been reconfigured from its original design as a pump house into spacious holiday accommodation that sleeps six. This Cottage is well equipped with all up to date amenities and is situated close to the town and Sudeley castle. We would certainly visit again and would recommend to all. There are a couple of issues that we feel need to be brought to the attention of the managing agents. These are :- The fridge/freezer is far to small to accommodate food for up to 6 persons, the freezer is very small. Cottages within the complex sleeping less than 6 have huge fridge/fr...more
We had a fantastic stay at Monument cottage over the August bank holiday weekend. The entire process of booking and initial access to the property was so easy and stress-free, and the entire stay followed suit, allowing us to fully relax and switch-off in an idyllic location. The property is gorgeously decorated, with all the home comforts you could ever want and more. The kitchen/diner in particular is fabulous. The house in general provides for both a cosy haven for colder evenings, and a fabulous, bright space for the warmer days. The beds are incredibly comfy, we all slept better than we...more
Everything was perfect. The owners sorted a problem out really quickly once we notified them. Will definitely come back again.
A lovely cottage which reminded us of many a French site we had stayed in but with much more comfort and style. It was very well situated for Cheltenham/ Cirencester etc. Cowley Manor for cocktails on the terrace was within easy walking distance as was the Green Dragon pub which offered lovely food and an extensive sunny outdoor seating area. The cottage itself had a large garden with a patio and outdoor seating overlooking the valley (and alpacas!). The cottage itself was well equipped (including washer machine and tumble drier) and the WI Fi was good enough to cope with WFH. There were eas...more
Cosy, comfortable and clean cottage in a picturesque location, a perfect weekend break , couldnt have wished for more
We had the pleasure of staying at Butts Farm for four nights in June.We were a party of 8 adults and were very comfortable with the accommodation and facilities. We had some minor issues after the first night that were dealt with immediately and in such a friendly and professional manner. The weather stayed dry and we were lucky enough to be able to use the bbq.One thing to point out the two hobs are electric and was not easy to work out how to control. All 8 of us would definitely recommend a stay at Butts Farm and we would definitely like to return in the near future.
Dear Laura, your property is absolutely amazing, the location is so beautiful and the house is big and spacious for large groups. It was clean and tidy and extremely comfortable .....we loved every minute of our stay and I can guarantee that we will be back to stay in the future. Thank you again for all your support and help on making our weekend memorable.
Very clean and well equipped. Good location for the exploring the cotswolds. Helpful information in the welcome pack for places to visit and eat. Plenty of parking. The mattress was too firm for us.
Historic cottage with all mod cons in a quiet part of town perfectly maintained and cleaned. We have two toddlers and had to keep an eye on them with the open staircase but this was not a major issue.
Stayed 2 nights, charming location, great parking, easy access to town and castle. Very comfortable stay. Would recommend and would love to return here. Lounge would benefit from additional lamp please.
What an amazing location for a family get together - our first in a long time and a return to the beautiful Almsbury Farmhouse. Such a well equipped and well presented house with everything we could possible need. The sunny weather meant that we were able to enjoy the outdoor space and the sheltered garden area was perfect for an evening barbeque.
Great location. Great accommodation. Would come again and recommend for nice walks. Few places to eat locally and fab area to explore
We loved staying in this old cottage that has been beautifully decorated. The owners are very friendly. The location is excellent and it was good to be a short walk from the pub. Definitely recommend.
Lovely barn comfortable just a couple of things could do with a little shop on site to buy essentials as no shop nearby also main bedroom on top floor very noisy at night as can hear all the noise from main living space hard to sleep. Hot tub was lovely though.
Lovely little break away from normal routine. We live in Chipping Norton, only 40 minute drive but felt like we were on holiday as country side and castle grounds felt very different. Loved Winchcombe as so historic and classic Cotswold feel. No wonder foreign travellers crave the architectural beauty and rolling countryside. Would like to visit Sudely Castle and grounds in the summer as October viewing was abit dormant but still beautiful.
Very pleasant stay. Pro's : spacious for 2 people, accepted dogs, very well equipped with everything that you would need. 2 bathrooms, 2 single beds in one bedroom, one very large double in another bedroom with ensuite. Upstairs was the comfortable main living area with kitchen, comfy sofas, log burner and dining table. Cons : some upgrading required, very very close to a main road so was noisy, no direct access to garden without going downstairs and out the front door. Garden needed a bit of a tidy up. We enjoyed our stay but would try and find somewhere that wasn't quite as close to the...more
All was really good. We had a lovely time despite poor weather. The accommodation was excellent. It suited all ages.
This is a lovely cottage, clean& comfortable. Light, airy modern bathrooms. The kitchen is modern with up to date appliances and Neff induction hob for cooking, which is very quick and responsive. (Had a problem with the washing machine on the last day, but it was sorted out for us on the morning we departed). Sudeley castle just up the road and the restaurants etc are a 5-10 minute walk away.
Really lovely cottage for short stays. Few ideas for making the stay more pleasant. - no welcome hamper, or thereof, including basic foods ie like milk on each new customer was no provided. This is what most accommodations do for guests. A benefit I think should be considered for this cottage. Though there were some small shower gel, soap and body gels provided in the bathroom; - mattresses are very firm: - no allocated parking, so if other people park right outside it becomes frustrating; - some cooking (ie frying pan, etc) need replacing.
We are previous guests at Sudeley Cottages albeit from some time ago and we have also stayed at Queen Mary before .Cottage has been refurbished since then to a very good standard and on arrival cottage was very clean and well presented all round..Cottage is spacious and with a small but adequate sitting out area. Winchcombe town pubs and restaurants just a short walk away. Plenty of nice walks nearby and, particularly if you have children, take a trip on the nearby heritage steam railway line to Broadway or Cheltenham. Only criticism is that whilst very clean on arrival, as it is dog friendly...more
Castle Gatehouse Cottage was the perfect place to stay for our wedding weekend at Sudeley Castle. My bridesmaids and I stayed here on the eve of the wedding and we had such a fun time getting ready and drinking bubbles in surroundings on the wedding morning. We had beautiful weather and the views from the cottage were magical. My husband and I then stayed here on our actual wedding day and it was the perfect location to round off the amazing day we'd had. The cottage was really cosy and comfortable and we would certainly recommend it to others.
The Combine Shed has to be one of the best self-catering units I've stayed in. Very clean, well equipped, close to all the amenities that we needed. A few minor niggles - the coffee machine didn't work, and no instruction books for appliances, etc, but overall it was truly excellent. I would highly recommend this property to anyone considering it.
4 night stay location ideal for short stay walking car req for further attractions steam railway virtually within touching distance local pubs within 10 mins driving all do excellent food at reasonable price . Shepherds hut unique experience very comfortable and peaceful location with nice modern bathroom wood fired hot tub a nice touch . Ideal place just to sit out and re charge batteries and de stress .
Upside down accommodation, which meant the bedrooms stayed cool in hot weather. The water pressure for showering is a bit weak, and therefor quite difficult to wash your hair, having to lean backwards to catch the water. Its well appointed and everything there for an home from home stay. Its a quiet spot, plenty of walks and cycling opportunities on the doorstep. Close to blenheim castle and cotswold villages.
Cottage and amenities were excellent. very clean and lots of lovely extra touches with coffee pods and tea/coffee starter pack etc in the kitchen. Felt the booking experience could have been a lot better as when we called to get info the person we spoke to really couldn't give us the pricing until we called back with which cottage we had decided on. Then she said approx price and when we then booked it was another price £60 more and then when we got the invoice we saw another £70 added for the cleaning! We were going to a wedding in the castle so we had little choice by then and were very sat...more
Great location, good value cottage. Well equipped modern kitchen with good appliances. Managing with one bathroom and no downstairs toilet was difficult, but we obviously knew this on booking, it was the only one available. The shower dripped continuously and one set of bedroom curtains had come off the runners and couldn’t be closed. However I contacted Sudeley on day 2 and someone came out to fix these things quickly. The heating was on summer setting and couldn’t be turned on, after one cold day, the excellent maintenance man kindly sorted this out as well. Excellent parking and location,...more
A lovely , quiet , quirky cottage with enclosed garden, quiet location , comfortable beds, friendly and helpful host
Lovely cottage, suitable for groups. Everything you could think of was provided. The oven/instructions for the oven took some time to get the hang of but we got there eventually. Parking is quite tight but there's plenty of space on the road outside.
It was a fantastic stay! We spent a few wonderful days! We really had a lovely stay and felt welcomed! The landscapes are beautiful, all the surrondings. The farm is beautiful, the contact with animals and dogs are adorable. The house was in excellent condition, the garden and the jacuzzi were amazing. The hosts were very helpful and friendly, as all the staff! Our granddaughter went to Meadow View just born, with 12 hours of live! Meadow View forever stay in our hearts! All wonderful! Thank you so much!
A few flies around windows on arrival which I hate. No milk shower gel or shampoo as mentioned in booking. Grill in oven dirty. Not sure what the £70 cleaning fee is all about as cobwebs around still and windows need a good cleaning apart from that a nice stay with comfortable bed
The cottage came recommended by a friend and didn’t disappoint. Great location and a short walk for great local pubs and food. We also walked to the castle and spent twice as long as expected it was so interesting. We get visitors from the USA often and will definitely use this as a base in future.
Beautiful cottage with all amenities in stunning grounds - perfect location for walking and a good selection of restaurants.
Great location just off the high street. Some nice touches on arrival such as fresh flowers and cookies. Shower curtain over bath was not ideal, impossible to shower without it touching you. Well equipped kitchen. The description on website about steep stairs is very reflective. There are three bedrooms but I think 4 adults is pushing the downstairs to limits, hence why I don’t think the cottage was particularly great value, however I booked it just a few weeks ago, I guess we are in high season and demand is high this year, we enjoyed our stay and had a lovely break
Hi, overall the cottage was very nice, but personally I thought the living room let it down slightly. It was ok but not very welcoming or cosy. The kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms were all great though. I was surprised to notice on arrival (in the rain) that there wasn’t a door mat inside to wipe our feet on, as the carpeted stairs were right in front of you. Anyway, this didn’t hamper our stay and we had a lovely time, but i would look to find a cosier place next time as I thought this property was quite expensive for what it was.
This is an amazing property fantastically located in the centre of delightful Winchcombe. The front door opens out onto the Main Street whilst the back where the main living area is looks out over beautiful rural scenery & is so quiet. Well equipped & beautifully designed. The front rooms were a bit empty & looked slightly unfinished as a result. However we didn’t need to use them at all as the large kitchen diner lounge area was perfect. For 6 ladies the 2 small sofas were more than adequate but for more adults or men they may be a bit small. Bedrooms & bathrooms were clean, comfortable...more
Box cottage is situated in a charming row of terraced cottages tucked away behind Broadway main street. Although the cottage was well stocked with all you would need for your stay, was clean and it was easy to communicate with the manager, we were rather disappointed with our choice. Contrary to the pictures we saw, it felt dark, cold, damp and rather unloved. We also had problems with a wasp infestation and a smoke alarm which went off every morning. Hopefully these issues have now been resolved and perhaps we were unlucky, but we all felt that the cottage could do with an update.
Lovely old Cotswold house which has been restored to the highest standard with a sympathetic touch and a simple neutral colour palette. Original beams etc give a sense of it's past. Very helpful information pack and "starter kit" of basics (milk/coffee etc) - and very responsive maintenance when we found the water wasn't heating up. The village pub - The New Inn - is a gem, with attentive staff and great food and beer !
Great accommodation with good local restaurants and pubs. Trout from local trout farm was very tasty.
This cottage has all one needs and in a central location for walks, castle, pubs and shops. It is comfortable and spacious with a courtyard garden to enjoy breakfast.
Host was very helpful. The cottage was clean and well equipped. Would be very happy to stay here again.
This is a charming little mid-terraced cottage in the heart of Tetbury. It is well equipped and very comfortable. We were very pleased to be here, and were pleased to have the benefit of a parking space. Everything was to hand, has good places to eat close by, and easy access to places of interest. Highly recommended particularly for a couple.
Lovely weekend Maple House very comfortable and everything there you need hot tub a added bonus. Great location.
Overall we had a very nice stay at Amber Cottage, we found the cottage comfortable and well equipped, I have to praise the owner for the pots, pans, plates and glasses etc, everything had been thought of in advance. The open plan layout works well, with two of us staying we had a very relaxed time while also taking time to go to many of the local sites, great access to Gloucester, Cirencester, Bristol (Air museum) and lots of Cotswold locations. We both got what we wanted from the holiday and came back refreshed and happy with our stay. This is also extremely well situated for the 417 Bike Par...more
A perfect bolt hole for a get together with family and friends. Idyllic, relaxed, spacious and full of quirky art, books, nooks and places to sit and enjoy being in nature. It was wonderful. The children absolutely loved all of the garden toys, the rope swings, trampoline, dens, stream and the whole experience, as did we. We will absolutely be back!
We had a lovely stay in the Old Chapel however it was very dusty. The second bedroom (upstairs) in particular has cobwebs in and the light shade is thick with dust. The property is very cosy and warm and the facilities and amenities are good.
Peaceful, tranquil, surrounded by Nature. A brief though enjoyable break that restored and recharged!
We had a very enjoyable two night stay at Charles I cottage and were blessed with good weather. Very clean and everything which we needed was provided. Thank you for the wine and flowers which were much appreciated.
So happy to be able to stay at Horseshoe Cottage, was just what we needed for our holiday and the cottage was perfect for its location and it was a lovely very comfortable cottage with everything that we wanted.
Beautiful cottage and we had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. All the rooms were very lovely, one bedroom a bit on the small size but sufficient and the master bedroom is really in need of a full coat of paint rather than just doing patches. The kitchen was fabulous with a very good cooker and dish washer. It was complete with most cooking utensils, just missing a potato peeler. Cleaning products were available to use which was also great. Garden beautiful but they fail to mention you are over looked by neighbours that actually have access into your garden through a gate. Very shoc...more
The Barn was very comfortable and very clean. It had a small enclosed garden which was safe for dogs or children, there was a picnic bench where you can eat meals and three chairs that were more comfy to sit and relax in. The location was very quiet, it was just a short walk 15 minutes into Bidford on Avon village where you can get a fab meal at the Bridge eatery. There was everything you need in the kitchen, washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, etc, Bathroom; loo rolls, shower gel, soap etc, However, the signage to Oosland Barns is very small and easy to miss the first time as we did, the ...more
We hired the Old Manse for my Father’s 70th. It is a beautiful house, which is homely and well equipped. The kitchen area in particular is stunning and perfect for a family gathering. We defo hope to be back one day.
We arrived for a week’s stay during a mini heatwave in summer 2021. It was immediately noticeable how warm the whole property was. Unfortunately, to add to the heat, the electric towel warmer in the bathroom had been accidentally left on which made the bedroom swelteringly hot. We enquired about the possibility of a fan for the bedroom but unfortunately none were available. Even with all the doors and windows left open through the night, the temperature in the property made it very difficult to get to sleep throughout the whole week. The property itself has been done to such a high...more
We have just returned from a weekend staying here with friends to celebrate a milestone birthday. The cottage is ideally located for walks in the surrounding countryside. It is well furnished and well equipped and was the perfect backdrop to a wonderful weekend.
Really enjoyed our stay - there's tones of social space, big outdoor area and pub just around the corner. We went as a group of 8 girls and it was perfect for us - we're even thinking about booking again for next year. I would say there are 3 things that could be improved. 1. Nowhere near enough toilet paper provided. 2. Could do with a deep clean - I know you're in the countryside so insects will get in, but need to clear away thing like cobwebs better. 3. General facilities could be updated: knives, shower, fridge etc.
Beds and bedding very comfortable. Clean and everything needed for our stay. Thank you for the pint of milk in fridge! Shame about the slightly damp smell in the kitchen. A bit dark, but you are in a cottage in the Cotswolds! We were aware it was on street parking, but not aware street was so narrow and parking would be so tricky. We had to park a distance from the property.
Enjoyed a great, 3 generational family weekend in this unique, characterful, spacious, well equipped and clean property. Brilliant for children from 3 up.
Great location ideal for getting round the cotswolds, finding a place to eat is hard due to restriction, the pub down the road that you advertise is shut down and should be removed from your web site, front door shuts but needs replacing as bowed bad at bottom when it rains it pools in and chairs in garden not safe for anyone to sit on accident waiting to happen apart from that great place to stay.
What a wonderful stay at Lower Lodge Barn. The only reason for not giving 5 star on location is that unless its the summer months and you are willing to walk down farm lanes and across a field you can not walk to the pubs as the 300m is as the crow flies and it's about 30min to walk and around 1.7 miles. However the three horseshoes pub delivers and the food was amazing. Hot tub was perfect. Bedroom comfortable and clean and it was a perfect place for a weekend away with the girls. The balcony on a morning and evening was like having our own private bar terrace. We would book again.
What a Beautiful Cottage in a very quiet lane. It was in an ideal position for us. The house and garden were lovely and dog friendly. If it's free we will be booking this property again. I have a few quick ideas to make it even more special. Connect the TV to an aerial socket to allow viewing of terrestrial TV rather than Netflix etc. Fit a shower screen or curtain in the en suite, repair the small hole in the plaster above the window seat in the lounge. These are very minor things and did not stop us enjoying the holiday. We all loved it.
The cottage is a beautiful traditional Cotswold cottage with low ceilings and uneven floors offering real character. It is worth being aware that the attic bedroom are really only suitable for children with very low ceilings and difficult access. The only other negative was the closeness to the main road meaning persistent road noise. But all in all a lovely place to stay and perfect for closeness to our wedding location.
