We stayed at the Leat in July for 3 nights, and despite there not being a lot of pubs and restaurants open (following lockdown) we had a lovely time. The flat was lovely. Very peaceful, but near to everything. We made full use of the balcony, sat in the sun with a glass of wine, watching the players at the bowls club. Would thoroughly recommend.
Bibury is so quaint and relaxing and full of history, just like the Bothy. We had everything we needed for a short stay, welcomed by biscuits and fresh flowers and even some fizz in the fridge. A nice touch.
We absolutely loved our stay at Old Fox Hall Cottage. It’s in a beautiful spot and the cottage itself is just perfect. Really well equipped and beautifully furnished with great attention to detail. The garden is a lovely sun trap for a g&t in the sunshine! Proximity to the pub is also worth a mention, pizzas are the best!
A perfect holiday home for a large family gathering - a beautiful, spacious cottage, nicely furnished and well equipped for all needs. Good location for exploring the Cotswolds. Would definitely recommend to friends and family of all ages.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Minchinhampton with visits to Berkeley Castle, Westonbirt, Tetbury, and cycle rides around the countryside on several days. There were plenty of eating options in the area within easy reach. Everything was well appointed and thought out. Excellent kitchen and showers. It wasn’t warm enough to use the BBQ on our visit but the rear views were lovely. Overall excellent self-catering accommodation.
A beautiful shepherds hut on an idyllic farm. It has everything you need in a cosy space. We enjoyed our local walks along the river Avon, picking fruit available on the Farm, seeing the animals, cooking on the bbq and chilling out in the hot tub watching the stars at night. We would love to go back and recommend to everyone.
We had such a perfect stay at Lovell Cottage. It was so welcoming and cosy with plenty of space to relax. The kitchen set up was ideal with everything you could need. The location is perfect to visit lots of beautiful places nearby, especially Burford, Moreton-in-Marsh, Minster Lovell Hall, the Swan pub at the end of the road and The Lamb in Crawley. We'd love to come and stay again!
Stepping Stones provides a perfect location from which to explore the Cotswolds. It is within easy driving distance to nearby villages, Blenheim, and Stratford-upon-Avon. The cottage itself is clean and comfortable with a beautiful patio area and backyard brook.
Really comfortable accommodation and well equipped. Very pretty garden, pity about the rain. Perfect for family staying over for a party.
Lovely location right in the heart of Ledbury. Easy to miss the entrance and drive way to car park narrow. Care required. Once navigated, you find each accomodation has its own parking space in the courtyard. Accomodation was spacious with a mixture of modern and traditional fittings. Plenty of draw space for up to s weeks stay (we were there for 4 nights). Kitchen well equipped and the shower room clean fitted with both a traditional showerhead and a rain shower head.Easy to use. The couple who managed us welcome d us and we're happy to talkand assist (though didn't need to) whenever w...more
We have stayed in this house for the last seven years. It is located right in the middle of the town, walking distance to the many shops, pubs and restaurants, no driving involved. The house is exceptionally clean with all the mod cons and nice bedrooms. It's quite spacious, with good WIFI reception and parking at the rear. We enjoy coming back each year, the town is beautiful and the house never disappoint's.
A cosy cottage just off the main road to Chipping Camden or Broadway set beside a field of sheep. A very peaceful break with walks from your doorstep. The local pub has sadly closed but we found a wide variety of pubs whilst touring the area. The beds were extremely comfortable and the living room was very cosy for evening chill time. Many thanks.
We stayed at The Coach House for a midweek break, and it was stunning! My elderly mother needed a downstairs bedroom because of mobility problems and this ticked all the boxes, and more! It’s very spacious, having a huge kitchen/ breakfast room/ sitting room in one, but also having a sitting room with open fire . The property has everything you could possibly need. Everything is of a very high quality. The outdoor heated pool was fabulous. A great extra to enjoy in the late afternoon, having had a day exploring the Cotswolds. The position of the property is very quiet, and easily acc...more
We enjoyed a 4 day break in Quail House. The property is absolutely beautiful, and the rooms are beautifully decorated. There was a lovely welcome gift on arrival, and basics such as tea, coffee and milk were provided, which after a long drive was much appreciated. The location is brilliant. A lovely, quiet and beautiful village, but only a short drive from places such as Blenheim and Oxford. The owners were lovely and went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. We would definitely return, and we were gutted to have to leave, we could easily have stayed for a longer perio...more
Singers House is beautiful. We have loved staying here, great location, lovely courtyard, everything you need. Only downside is that it gets pretty noisy in the mornings as the house is located directly on the high street - but everything else makes it worth it. We’ll be back for sure - we’d love to see the house and the area in the winter - it would be wonderful to have the fires going!
Fantastic location for a stay in The Cotswolds. Right on the high street close to a lovely bakers with the pubs and restaurants a short walk away. Cottage was cosy and clean with all the amenities we needed for the stay. Would book again
Comfortable beds, pretty cottage, walking distance to village with everything you need, including Michelin star restaurant. Lucky to have it complemented with fabulous weather!!
Lovely cottage for family get together. Better than the photos. One of the best equipped kitchens I’ve had on a holiday rental. Quick communication with the owner.
I thought the cleaning charge was excessive -there was no hand sanitiser left unlike what it says on your website so we had to buy are own .Also no spare rubbish bags which I think you should have supplied AApart from that enjoyed staying in lovely house in quiet village I do not want this review placed on public website
Amazing house in a lovely setting. Bedrooms in the house large and very comfortable. Hot tub good fun! Loads of space for a big group
everything we needed for our stay was provided, the house was spotless on arrival, beds very comfy and 2 minutes walk onto the high street - thanks so much we really enjoyed our stay
Beautifully appointed cottage on the edge of Northleach village. Great base for exploring the cotswolds.
Nice and comfortable cottage, with two minor downsides: from the photos, it seems like there is more of an open view in front of it than in reality, where the other cottages are close by (but the whole area of cottages is very well designed); and the ceiling in the kitchen is quite low, which wasn’t an issue for my wife, our toddlers and I (I’m the tallest of all four at 1.72m or 5’8’’) but may feel cramped for someone taller. About the broader area, the cottage offers easy access to Winchcombe shops and restaurants (the nearest pub is 2 minutes walk away, the mid-size Coop less than 10 min...more
We were in the area for a family wedding. The accommodation was very clean and had every amenity we needed. The only issue we had was after enquiring by email as to whether there was a walk-in shower due to having older parents, we received a reply confirming there was. But in fact it is an over the bath shower not a walk-in so this was an issue. Otherwise the accommodation was excellent.
We chose Malmsbury because of family connections and a desire to see our 3month old granddaughter and 27 Horsefair because it looked lovely and because of its location. Granddaughter is beautiful...of course! and Horsefair is lovely. We have had short stays in Malmsbury before but too short to be able to explore. The local walks are delightful, the town very friendly with good eateries and some great shops. The house is very comfortable, well presented and spacious given the size..we had a very enjoyable time. Thank you. I would like to suggest some additions...a few smaller beaker s...more
Myself and my family (like most of the UK I assume) were due to be aboard but due to the situation, we had to adjust and change our trip accordingly. We have never stayed in an Air B&B before but after my wife did lots of research and searching she found a jem which was Jasmine Cottage. I think we were nervous because there were no nice places available at such short notice and most of the UK had been booked up! But this place looked incredible so we booked it! Located near Witcombe and bang in the middle of the countryside - this was perfect! The cottage is spacious and our daughters ...more
The cottage was everything we had hoped and more! Our stay was faultless and we cannot wait to be able to come back and stay again in the future.
We absolutely loved our stay at Maisey Cottage - we stayed for a long week Mr while attending w wedding in a neighbouring village. We would definitely recommend the cottage it was impeccably clean and owner was super friendly and helpful! We will definitely be coming back!
We stayed at Church Cottage for 3 nights at beginning of August - two children and four adults. It was a wonderful stay. When we arrived we noticed a few more wasps than normal and potentially a wasps nest on the grounds. We spoke to owners and they sorted immediately. It was good knowing that we could contact easily and that they were on top of things. Cottage very cosy and comfortable and lovely outside space. Bath is definitely made for a smaller person but there is a shower! Best bit is the location with the Church literally next door and the high street a 30 second walk away. L...more
This was a lovely place to stay, the surroundings are pleasant. We had a great time just a shame it was such a short stay, we will be back. My only criticism would be the COVID Clean charge was a little excessive at £110! The welcome pack and Prosecco were a nice touch.
Kingfisher cottage is a beautifully well kept cottage in the lovely town of winchcombe it has a tranquil garden with a beautiful view over the fields. Inside the cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable for a large family. lots of pubs shops and restaurants within walking distance and some lovely walks right from the front door. The pool table is perfect for some family fun, i would highly recommend kingfisher cottage to anyone.
Location is absolutely stunning. Recommend the local walk down the river to the pub. Hosts were wonderful, very attentive. There are animals on the land and the host allowed us to have the fresh eggs for our breakfast. Absolutely wonderful place and we will be back! Thank you to Clive and Serena!
Excellent location and property was extremely clean. Only item that could be improved is the garden, it could do with being tidied up.
An attractive cottage with loads of charm to enjoy the wonderful countryside in period style. However, our experience was brought down by a very uncomfortable night's sleep due to the unsupportive mattress and pillows in the master room along with the bedding. With this issue sorted, the cottage would have been perfect in our opinion. We left after the first night of a week's stay. In fairness, the owner disagrees with our assessment.
The carpet in the living room should have grips under it to stop it from rucking up when one stands up from a chair or sofa. It is easy to slip on it and could easily cause an accident. While the chairs in the living room are beautiful and certainly in keeping with the style of the house, my 92 year old sister would have appreciated a rather more comfortable armchair! We were disappointed in the tour of the Castle. We totally missed the star of the show (the privvy) but that was probably our fault. Church and garden lovely. Apart from the above minor points, we very much enjoyed...more
Ideal for a getaway with the kids. The house was lovely, perfect setting, clean and safe. Massive bonus of having the castle at the end of the road. Really appreciated the “welcome pack” in the Kitchen. Will definately use again
We had a lovely week's stay at George III. The cottage was immaculately clean and thoughtfully kitted-out. The welcome pack of jams, biscuits and milk we appreciated on our arrival. The setting, a short walk from Winchcombe's high street, was close to everything, but still quiet and relaxing.
Lovely cottage on a working farm. Nice and quiet away from the towns. Good quality features and fittings and enjoyed the hot tub! Owners always close by to sort any problems quickly and excellent customer service.
We really enjoyed our stay at College Farm Cottage. Could do with a few extra bits in the kitchen like a grill pan handle and kitchen tongs. It was nice and central for the pretty towns and villages we visited and some great walks too. Would stay again.
A very pretty and comfortable stay, we easily settled in and felt at home in the cottage. Great selection of toys and games.
A beautifull cottage in a beautiful area. Everything exactly as described. Plenty of space for 6 adults
Very good location as it is just a short walk to the local shops and has some lovely walks nearby too. The apartment was comfortable and very clean which is a nice surprise when so many places these days seem to lack care in the cleaning department. I always take cleaning products with me but didn't require them on this occasion. Everything we needed was also provided including tin foil, cling film, dishwasher tablets, coffee and hot chocolate pods, milk, jam, loo rolls and lots of hand wash and sanitisers. Some of the furniture was a bit tired but I think they are going for an antique loo...more
Pretty cottage, everything that you would need is provided, lovely and clean and close to good restaurants and pubs.
4 couple had a long weekend at the house, it really is a lovely house all the bedrooms are beautiful with their own bathrooms so perfect for couples. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, beds were really comfy and lovely quality bed linen and towels. The kitchen was well equipped and again lovely and clean. A small criticism is the dining table needs 2 more chairs we brought in two garden chairs so we could all sit together. The garden is lovely it’s so peaceful at the back of the house with beautiful views sitting out with a cuppa in the morning was a pleasure. The local area is lovel...more
I struggle to decide whether to give a good review of my stay at Bellhouse. I know if I do, then a lot of people will read about it, and then a lot of people will want to go and stay in this house, then it will be more difficult for me to book this house again in the future. But my conscience tells me that I must tell the truth! My feeling was ..... a great place to stay, the house was full of character and my family loved it. Just book it, I am sure you will like it too.
We stayed in South Winds for 3 nights in December and were very comfortable and warm. The kitchen area is fantastic and well equipped. It is conveniently located without being in an area that is too busy and crowded. My only small criticism was that the meet and greet service were unable to meet and greet us!
Prince Rupert did not disappoint. It was easily accessed, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We really appreciated the extras like the welcome pack and the Nespresso coffee machine. The location was also ideal. Winchcombe was a fantastic base for our walking holiday and we found lots of lovely places to eat out on the doorstep.
The cottage is very comfortable, well-equipped cottage and very spacious. It is perfect for multi-day stays.
What a little gem! My husband is castle mad so we have stayed in a number of castles already and I am pleased to say Sudeley Castle gatehouse stands out as one of the best. Being self contained but in the grounds certainly made him feel king of the castle on his birthday!
A quiet, clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage on the edge of a small town. Plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants etc nearby but also ideally placed for country walks. Free entry to Sudeley Castle.
We had a last minute booking and have had a wonderful week of walking and loved the opportunity to spend time visiting Sudeley Castle and it's beautiful gardens. Lady Jane Grey is a perfect cottage with lots of space, very well equipped and excellent heating for the cooler evenings!
Cleanliness was actually very good apart from numerous and regular flies/dead flies throughout our stay. No idea where they came from but they kept appearing! Whilst the apartment appeared to have been redecorated throughout, the main door was very grubby. And the dining table let down the rest of the furnishings. 2 H&S matters: (1) we found that the light switch for the landing from downstairs HAD to be kept in the on position. If turned off, it was not possible to light the landing from upstairs - potentially a little dangerous considering the different levels. (2) a grab handle/...more
Clean, beautiful cottage for a perfect family stay. Well equipped and location was so good - close to restaurants, cafes etc.
The cottage was a Cotswold stone early 19 /20 century delight. Location to Sudeley Castle and the picturesque town of Whinchcomb excellent. Sympathetically furnished in keeping with the older style of the cottage and very much feeling like a home. Highly recommend this property . We will certainly book again.
We had a lovely relaxing stay in Anne Boleyn cottage. A real Wow! Moment as we turned into the lovey courtyard. The cottage was really well cleaned which was reassuring in these strange times and very comfortable inside. The location is excellent with many good walks straight from your doorstep and good pubs and restaurants in Winchcombe.
Beautiful location, accommodation comfortable, clean and had everything you need for a holiday. Staff on site were friendly and helpful. Amazing walks on your doorstep. Generous welcome pack on arrival. I would definitely stay again.
Lovely getaway to meet with our adult children. Very comfortable house met all our requirements. So lucky to enjoy hot weather and make good use of the outside space. Quiet village as we had hoped, local pub with food and well stocked community store was a lovely surprise. Unfortunately we had water heating issues, this was dealt with immediately by swift communication with the housekeeper and maintainance team who turned up asap when we called late at night. Bolthole Retreats gave appropriate compensation for the inconvenience.
Great location if you are looking for a comfy house in the heart of the Cotswolds. House was clean with all needed amenities and very comfy. Good playpark opposite for the kids. Good walks and scenery on the door step. Village has pub and shop.
Cosy cottage but closer than expected to a noisy road. Good location, lots of walks and sightseeing within easy reach. Comfortable and enormous bed. Well equipped kitchen but would have been useful if the literature had mentioned the fridge freezer instead of dishwasher twice. Good holiday.
We stayed at Horseshoe Cottage for a long weekend as a family party of 8 to celebrate our daughter's 30th birthday. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable and the kitchen was very user-friendly. Although situated on the main road, parking was easy in the lane adjacent to the property and traffic noise was minimal at night. It was lovely to have such wonderful walking country in the surrounding area and yet still be within very easy reach of Moreton-in-Marsh and its facilities. All in all, a very welcoming place to stay.
Will certainly be recommending the Sudeley Castle Country Cottages to friends and family. Lord High Admiral was a very delightful and well equipped property in wonderfully peaceful surroundings and just a very short walk to the Castle itself.
Sudeley cottages are an excellent location for the beautiful village of Winchcombe, which is 5 minutes walk away. It is also a good location to visit other villages( Broadway was beautiful too). There are a number of walks on your doorstep of different abilities. The price of the cottage included unlimited access to Sudeley castle and gardens, which was 10 minutes walk across the field. Winchcombe village had everything you need, shops, small supermarket and a number of excellent pubs and restaurants. We ate at 3 of them, which all had beer gardens and eating inside- good steps in place for so...more
This house was stunning, so characterful and brilliantly quirky! We had a great time staying here and loved the remoteness and energy of the space! Would definitely love to come back - a few of the guests are already rebooking!
Brilliant trip for a bit of a wind down after a weird few months. Hosts very helpful and friendly, location while rural is not too far from needed amenities, everything clean and tidy. We couldn’t have asked for much else. Thanks!
Beehive Cottage, Poulton, Is a beautifully and careful renovated property in the Cotswolds. Unfortunately on our arrival the cleanliness of the property was disappointing. The housekeeping manager, rectified our initial issues, although as our stay progressed it was obvious that cleaners were not thorough.
Very nice well equipped clean cottage. Would have no hesitation recommending to others. The only negative during our stay was the failure of the plumber to turn up to fix the radiator in the double bedroom. Very cold!!
What a fabulous house for a family weekend away! We didn't get in the car all weekend until we had to leave. Gorgeous walks from the door, delicious food at the Horse and Groom, lovely views and lots of space. Will be back!!
A lovely period property with modern facilities, walking distance to the town with free access to the castle
Perfect location in Tetbury just off the top end of High Street close to all the shops, pubs and cafes, etc, but not too busy. The house is beautiful, the owners have decorated it to a really high standard with elegant touches and very comfortable furnishings. You feel that you are being spoilt. Extremely comfortable beds and very well appointed bathrooms. There was just the two of us so we had a bedroom and bathroom each which made it extra special having lots of space and comfort, perfect for friends and just as lovely for 2 couples. A perfect weekend bolthole or for longer stays. Highly rec...more
A quiet and peaceful location with good accommodation for a large group. Comfortably furnished with good facilities although some aspects could be smarter. We were unfortunate to experience a number of issues regarding a lack of hot water and some heating in the main bedroom. The wifi also malfunctioned during our stay. The owner was available to help with any queries although these issues were not fully solved. I would recommend this property if these issues were fully resolved.
Walkley wood cottage was lovely. Gave us a great base to explore the Cotswolds. Would recommend this property
The property was very clean and located in pleasant village with big garden and good views. The quality of the contents was more for a B&B rather than a £800 for two night property. Curtains made in light material and ill fitting meant bad sleep. The booking via Bolthole confirmation said checkout at 11am but on the notice in the kitchen was 10am. Two cleaners turned up wanting to start well before our contracted check out time and when we asked them to come back later, they argued we were wrong - slightly irritated given the actual contract was with Bolthole who’s terms override anything...more
Cosy cosy cottage perfect for a cold weekend in February. Furnished to a high standard very well equipped kitchen. Loved to aga. Lovely setting with patio in the back, fire in the lounge which made it lovely & warm. Would highly recommend. Only gripe I have is the shower door in main bathroom needs to be sorted as water leaked onto floor.
The Old Stables is a lovely little place in Tetbury (which is also a lovely little place). The house was well maintained and well stocked. Made a perfect base for me, my wife and our 1 year old. I recommend the arboretum (which is a 5 min drive) and the Cotswolds Farm Park as things to do. We had a great holiday and would recommend.
Property is a lovely characterful place, with lots of nice original features and complimentary decor. Was really nice to have a freshly baked cake and bottle of wine waiting for us, it made us all feel very welcome and instantly at home. Due to the age of the property it does need some repairs, the oak door needs attention as lots of wind was coming through it making the lounge very cold even with the fire on and some windows (especially the ones in the attic) need attention as they are drafty and makes the road noise even louder. We had a issues with the hot water and a few of us had cold sho...more
From what I understand the resort has cleaners that all the rental properties use. I heard from someone who doesn't rent out their property that the cleaners are super busy and dont spend long in the house. It shows. It's unfortunate because it really took the shine off our stay. There were hairs clogging the shower drain. My sheets had black stains on them. The carpet didn't look hoovered. The sink had rice in it and hadn't been cleaned. The bathroom floors were filthy. The fire had ashes spilling out onto the floor. The owners didn't seem to be too fussed until I sent them some photos. They ...more
