Amber Cottage is a cosy, semi-detached, holiday home built in traditional, honey-coloured Cotswold stone with fantastic shared facilities including an outdoor swimming pool. It was originally part of the stables to a once neighbouring 18th-century coaching inn, with evidence of this time seen in the cottage’s ancient, exposed beams. Amber Cottage is designed as a reverse-living home with two bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor and an open-plan kitchen living and dining area, with a log burning stove, on the first floor. There is a private garden, with an outside dining area and shared use of an outdoor swimming pool (open mid May to mid September 10am-2pm - weather dependant), separate children's play area with swings, slide and trampoline. The location is perfect for walkers, cyclists and visitors exploring the wider Cotswolds.

Great little cottage for the four of us. Comfortable and well equipped. Kids loved the trampoline outside.
Be warned the nearby A417 gives a constant hum of traffic but otherwise the location is good. Easy to get to Gloucester, Cheltenham, or into the Cotswolds AONB.
Nearby Crickley Hill has great views; we liked the pub in Birdlip; laser tag in Cheltenham; Nina Warrior and cathedral in Gloucester; Cotswold Farm Park is great for kids and animal lovers. Lots to do!

Our experience of the cottage was disappointing. The cottage is situated next to a busy road, which has it's good and bad points. Good for easy access to lots of places, bad for traffic noise which can be heard inside and doesn't encourage you to sit outside. The cottage could do with a deep clean everywhere inside, there was huge cobwebs and dirty rugs to mention just a few areas. The bathroom suite was clean. The bedding and towels were of a good standard however the mattress in the double bedroom was not. There was lots of useful and thoughtful items left in the cottage for guests to use. The cottage could just do with a little TLC.

Overall we had a very nice stay at Amber Cottage, we found the cottage comfortable and well equipped, I have to praise the owner for the pots, pans, plates and glasses etc, everything had been thought of in advance. The open plan layout works well, with two of us staying we had a very relaxed time while also taking time to go to many of the local sites, great access to Gloucester, Cirencester, Bristol (Air museum) and lots of Cotswold locations. We both got what we wanted from the holiday and came back refreshed and happy with our stay. This is also extremely well situated for the 417 Bike Park which is just across. The location is quite as it not many people and very little traffic on the road access, the cottage is well situated, with a large supper market nearby (couple of miles away) and quick access to main roads such as the 417 and the M5, it is acknowledged that it is close to the A417 so the road noise was expected.

Cosy cottage but closer than expected to a noisy road. Good location, lots of walks and sightseeing within easy reach. Comfortable and enormous bed. Well equipped kitchen but would have been useful if the literature had mentioned the fridge freezer instead of dishwasher twice. Good holiday.

A good conversion of a little barn with thick walls and lots of character. Very close to 417Flyup Mountain Bike Park. Was aware of the A417 quite close. Great to have lots of little logs for the woodburner. View from the velux over the valley below is lovely. We didn't use the garden but it looked good and in keeping with the rest of the charming property.

The cottage is much better than my expectation. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen utensils are very clean. Bathroom has an excellent bath tub with plenty of hot water. The upstairs living room and kitchen are bigger than I thought. Good size for a family of four. All my family member enjoyed the stay.
