Hillside Cottage is a beautiful, 17th-century retreat in a private and tranquil location, with an elevated position overlooking glorious Cotswold countryside. Sleeping up to 4 guests across 3 bedrooms (1 standard double, 1 small double, 1 single) with 2.5 bathrooms: 1 ensuite - bath with over-bath power shower), 1 family bathroom (with power shower), and 1 downstairs W.C. (with toilet and sink). The cottage has a big, open fireplace, a delightful, private garden, is dog-friendly and is in walking distance of a great pub. (The cottage is not suitable for baies or young children.)

Although small, Swerford is home to a few hidden treasures. The remains of a 12th Century motte-and-bailey castle are open for visits as well as a network of beautiful footpaths. The renowned pub, The Boxing Hare, is also a short walk from Hillside. If you fancy exploring a little further afield, the stunning Cotswold market town of Chipping Norton is only a short three-mile drive away.

Lovely and charismatic period cottage with beautiful furniture marred by uncomfortable beds

An attractive cottage with loads of charm to enjoy the wonderful countryside in period style. However, our experience was brought down by a very uncomfortable night's sleep due to the unsupportive mattress and pillows in the master room along with the bedding. With this issue sorted, the cottage would have been perfect in our opinion. We left after the first night of a week's stay. In fairness, the owner disagrees with our assessment.

Claude I am delighted that you found the cottage to be charming and am sorry that you were uncomfortable with the bed and bedding in the master bedroom. I have slept in it very recently and had no problems whatsoever. There have been no complaints from other guests. Kind regards Mary

A gorgeous cottage in the pretty village of Swerford

The cottage is beautifully decorated with antique furniture and art and it also looks fresh and clean. It was a lovely touch to have some breakfast items supplied so we didn't need to rush out in the morning. The garden is very pretty and a nice spot to sit.
