The Old Post Office is in the pretty hamlet of Fossebridge, in a spectacular dip in the Roman Fosse Way, between the Gloucestershire towns of Cirencester and Northleach. This 7-bedroom, 3-bathroom property, which dates back to the 17th Century, has a wealth of character, including flagstone floors, beamed ceilings and feature fireplaces. This wonderful family home is arranged over three floors, has lots of downstairs space for all the guests to spread out around and has a self-contained double-bed annexe adjoining the property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights. The eggs, cake and wine were much appreciated. A beautiful home. All went very well and I even found the 7th bedroom!!! Very comfortable, clean and nothing missing. Great to have the pub across the road.

A roll of kitchen paper would have been useful....

A lovely characterful home

The house is lovely and spacious and full of character. However it needs a good clean - lots of dust on light fittings, mirrors, cupboards, wardrobes, window frames, beams etc. The kitchen was grubby and the kitchen cupboard doors need cleaningTo remove marks, grease and stickiness. We pointed out to Martha that the extractor hood had a missing cover and the bin drawer was broken.
A number of light bulbs need replacing
It would be nice to have hand towels as well as bath towels - only 1 towel ppn was provided
We contacted Martha about a problem and she was very quick to respond to solve the problem - very friendly and good customer service.

Much that was good/very good, well appointed, ample space, many more plates, glasses etc than anyone could expect - so a large group could be catered for plus visitors for a party in the garden. So what's less good? While general cleanliness was just about ok, fridges, sinks and other domestic appliances were filthy and off-putting. The once splendid garden is being overtaken by all- consuming weed growth, loose flagstones on paths and steps verge on the dangerous. So a mixed bag; notwithstanding, we had a good time and the property could be tip top with a bit more love.
