Stayed here with a small group of friends whilst attending a wedding nearby. Lovely cottage with three bedrooms and spacious communal spaces. We particularly enjoyed the fireplace in the sitting room. The little village is quiet and there are beautiful views over the fields
We spent Christmas in the barn, the owners had thoughtfully put up decorations for us. It was well equipped and the owners were on hand to answer any questions. The location was perfect.
What can we say other than our stay couldn't have been anymore perfect. We had 12 people staying and everyone was blown away with how modern and beautiful everything was. The barn was kitted out with more than enough kitchen products, cooking products, glasses and mugs. The cleanliness was top notch and everything in the barn was of super high quality. Emma was an amazing host with exceptional communication and super helpful. We literally have no bad comments or feedback to give. We are looking forward to booking again next year.
We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. The village is one of the nicest we have ever seen and well located to explore the cotswolds. The house itself is very well equipped, clean and has loads of space. Perfect in every way !
Such a lovely little place. Right on the doorstep to Bourton on the water. The hosts were brilliant, lovely little touches. Thank you!
We had a wonderful family weekend get-together at The Old Calf Pens. Clive and Lydia are very friendly welcoming hosts and were helpful with suggestions on what to see and do locally. The accommodation was ideal for our needs with a new baby on board and was very clean and comfortable. The setting was just so idyllic on a peaceful working farm in a picturesque location yet within easy reach of all the Cotswolds hotspots.Best of all was being able to walk straight from the door. We can definitely recommend a stay at The Old Calf Pens!
What a wonderful weekend- lots of fun for all the family. Only downfall was no space in the spa so definitely book in advance. We will definitely be returning !
We absolutely loved our stay at Upper Lodge. The house was extremely spacious, but also very cosy and homely. We loved the stylish decor and found everything to be in perfect condition. The location was very beautiful and peaceful, and the house felt very private. We would definitely love to return in the future.
We absolutely loved our weekend away at this property it was in a beautiful location, rural yet only a 20 minute car ride Into Cheltenham. On arrival we were welcomed with a lovely homemade cake and the fridge had fresh farm eggs in as well as milk and butter. We bumped into Nigel the owner whilst we were out enjoying a lovey morning walk and we were lucky enough to say hello to his cows which we all loved!! We will Definitely be returning!!
We stayed here for three nights while working in the area and it was a very welcome change from the normal hotels. The location of the property is stunning with wonderful views of the valley and the lakes as well as being very quiet. Peter and Carol are fantastic hosts and Lakeside Cottage has been prepared to an extremely high standard with countless touches that show they really care - I would thoroughly recommend this place.
A stunningly beautiful place - like living for a few days in an enchanted landscape. Absolutely loved it
Our stay was absolutely perfect, wouldn't have changed a thing except the length of time (we all wished it was far longer!). The lodge, estate and surrounding areas are all beautiful and perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better place.
We stayed at Laurel Cottage over Christmas 2024 and we absolutely loved our stay. It was the perfect location for other destination towns around the Cotswolds and the cottage itself had everything we needed! The bedrooms were the perfect amount of space for the 5 of us, and our dog absolutely loved lying by the fire on a cold evening. We made a full Christmas dinner in the gorgeous farm-style kitchen with no hassle at all - fully stocked and had everything at our disposal. We cannot wait to visit again - we loved it!
My wife and I stayed in Pump Cottage for a couple of nights and recommend it very highly. As others will not doubt highlight: it is very picturesque, there’s a lovely and impressive welcome box and it is well appointed. My wife has MS and was delighted at other aspects that aren’t always at the the level seen at Pump Cottage such as the level of cleanliness, the comfort not only of the beds, but the sofa too. There are also the thoughtful touches such as the handle attached to the wall on the turn of the narrow stairs, which made it easier for her to negotiate going upstairs. Selina ...more
We booked Owls Nest Barn for a family Christmas gathering. Everything was fabulous! Enough of everything to cater for 8 adults, we even used the BBQ for our butterflied lamb leg. Beds really comfortable with crisp white bedding and fluffy white towels in all four bathrooms. We all enjoyed being in the countryside with easy walking (take wellies) and the walk to Painswick is a must! Thoroughly recommend for a relaxing stay!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. It’s decorated beautifully and to a high standard. It has everything you need! The host was super responsive and helped with everything we needed. Very accommodating. Would recommend to stay and would stay again for sure! Thanks for having us :)
We had an amazing time at Banbury Hill Farmhouse. 5 Adults, 2 dogs and 4 children aged 3, 4, 5 and 6. It ticked all our boxes. The Farmhouse is beautiful and has everything you could possibly want, all very high spec. We really enjoyed the woodland walks and used the tennis court, play area, football pitch and zip wire. The children loved seeing the animals. The welcome hamper and daily delivery of bread and pastries was brilliant. It was the prefect venue for our family get together and will return.
Otmoor house has been recently refurbished , decorated and furnished to the highest standards of any of the self catered accommodation we have ever stayed at in the UK. The setting and nearby village (including pub) are also beautiful. The beds are very large and extremely comfortable. What more can I say? I can find no fault !
I stayed at Lake Cottage to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday. The property was spotless and so well equipped. We all commented multiple times on how the owners had gone above and beyond to fill the cupboard with everything you could need for a short break. The building itself is stunning and in a picturesque location. Not to mention the friendly pig on site who was a family favourite. I would highly recommend staying at Lake Cottage. We will be looking at booking our next staycation there shortly.
This property is well equipped, it's peaceful, it's comfortable, Lisa, the owner is very friendly and helpful, it's very well located, it's fresh and, and, and... You have a bus that leaves every hour to and from Oxford (a 40 minute ride) or if you prefer the train, there's a station within a 10 minute walk and this takes only 9 minutes to the centre of Oxford, although these are every 2 hours and you need to buy your ticket online. The Cotswolds are a short drive away and there are many interesting places even closer. Country walks are outside the door. I could go on but let's just say th...more
The holiday house was perfect for our family gathering of all ages to celebrate an 80th birthday. It had everything we could need and spotlessly clean and spacious. We particularly loved the view and enjoyed spending time relaxing in the house as well as walking in the surrounding grounds. Thank you to the hosts, we would definitely book again.
I cannot recommend the Cotswold Coach House enough! I had the absolute pleasure of staying here for two nights, including the morning of my wedding, and it was truly perfect from start to finish. From the moment I first met Peter, the owner, I knew I was in good hands. He kindly showed me around beforehand, and I was completely blown away by how stunning the coach house is. The original detailing is absolutely to die for, and the whole place just oozes charm and character. What really stood out was how spacious the rooms were; they were so much bigger than they look in the pictures! Pete...more
We all loved our stay at Upper Folly (helped by fantastic weather). The house was spotless on arrival, beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well supplied with all we needed to cook while we were there. There are lots of lovely walks from the house - we particularly enjoyed walking to the farm shop Vegetable Matters (and butcher and cafe next door) in Ebrington. The bakery, Mor, just outside Chipping Camden made an excellent running destination for two the fitter members of our party.
Bumble Cottage is one of the best and loveliest cottages we have stayed at. We like to self cater and be free to do our own thing. The convenience of the cottage was excellent - just a short walk to the Chipping Campden high street and restaurants and coffee shops. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and it was so cosy. We would like to visit again when the weather is warmer so that we can sit outside in the garden.
Had a fantastic week at Wallhope Retreat. Great location. Cottage was very clean, well equipped, warm and very spacious. Sarah was very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be coming back in the future.
We enjoyed a multi-generational birthday celebration with family coming from different parts of England and Wales. The accommodations were well equipped and really spacious for 11 of us. We were fortunate to have good weather and made use of the outdoor space appreciating the peaceful surroundings and views. We were pleased to find Dover Hill and its walks so near.
We were very happy with our stay. The house and the property were even nicer than we had imagined, and we had some really lovely days there. Absolutely perfect for a group of 8 people or two families. We will definitely recommend the place to others and would love to visit again.
A realy nice place to stay comfy bed I slept well, Great shower better than the one i have at home just right for a quiet break with nice walks and plenty to see. I will stay again.
We enjoyed Apple Store Cottage. It was comfortable, stylish and lacked for nothing. The owners were helpful and very responsive.
Everything you could wish for is provided in this comfortable cottage in an ideal location for visiting the local area. It’s a pleasant walk into town and the train station is just across the road for a short journey to Gloucester.
Teagles Cottage was very clean and felt very welcoming, warm and homely for our party of seven. All our needs had been catered for. It was only a step away from the shops, restaurants etc of the town which was very convenient but at the same time it was very quiet. It was in an ideal location for exploring the area. We had a wonderful time in a beautiful cottage.
Stayed here with 3 couples over New Year and it was perfect. Everything you want from a weekend in the Cotswolds. Decent pub 5 minutes walk away, opposite a beautiful church, log burning fire, nice well equipped kitchen and a sofa actually big enough to sit 6 people on. The bedrooms were very comfortable with good mattresses and the bathrooms very modern. Parking for 3 cars too. Honestly a real little gem and I am jealous of the owners having this as their future retirement home.
Stayed for two nights in the cottage to tour the Cotswolds. We arrived a couple of hours early and Lisa was ready for us. The cottage was lovely, clean tidy and comfortable with all mod cons. Milk tea and coffee was a nice added touch. All the villages we visited were within a half hour drive and buses or train to the centre of Oxford are right on the doorstep. All in all a great place to stay.
What a gem of a property. We had the most wonderful weekend. The hut is so beautiful and well done, the location is lovely and the hot tub was just brilliant. David was such a good host, there to greet us and set the hot tub up each day. We will definitely be returning.
We were very lucky to have glorious sunny weather. The house is extremely well equipped and very comfortable. Our hostess, Fiona, was welcoming and obviously keen to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed BBQs in the delightful courtyard garden, which has some beautiful shrubs and some quirky statues. During the day, we discovered some stunning scenery on our walks, with visits to castles and the ruins of an impressive abbey. Evenings were spent in the cosy sitting room playing board games beside a log burning fire. It was a perfect week creating some very happy memories.
Had a great time at Barebones farm plenty of room and space for a family celebration for 12 people. Excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities. Would recommend staying here great garden for dogs. Lots to see and do in Whinchcombe its self . Would recommend a meal in the Lion pub a few doors away from Barebones.
As there were 8 of us, we booked both the coach house and the stables for a three night stay for our annual cousins get together. Both properties are very spacious beautifully designed warm and cosy. The double bedrooms and bathrooms are all equally beautiful so nobody left feeling they had drawn the short straw. We all hung out in the coach house daily and the stables was only used for bed and breakfast for those staying in that part. On two consecutive days we all walked The Holy Well walk which you can access from the property, we did a small diversion into Southam for extra prov...more
We enjoyed a peaceful weekend stay at the Bellhouse, with our grown up family. Plenty of space to relax and dine together, a peaceful place to stay and a good base to explore the surrounding villages and countryside. A warm welcome on arrival by the friendly owners. Would book again.
Comfortable and well equipped - ideal for a short stay - excellently maintained. Convenient parking.
We really enjoyed our 6 night stay over Christmas. The Old Stables is a very well designed space that worked perfectly for our family of 5. It is super clean, with comfortable beds and sofas. The kitchen is well equipped and we had everything we needed at meal times. It is very quiet even though it is on a working farm. Our Grandson loved seeing all the animals. The location is great with super views and close to many places of interest. We loved the Christmas tree and the welcome pack thank you.
Our second stay at Merchant House and it was even lovelier than we remembered! Perfectly located in Charlbury, next to the fabulous Bull pub, this house is such a great spot for a family gathering or like us a group of friends getting together for a pre Christmas weekend away. The house is so comfortable for a crowd, super comfy beds and bedding, gorgeous living areas and a brilliantly equipped kitchen. So many thoughtful touches, especially at Christmas, a great supply of logs, a welcome basket and a generous provision of essentials such as dishwasher tabs, washing pods as well as lovely toil...more
Fantastic time at an amazing property and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Be prepared for narrow lanes. Just one thing we would have liked was an instruction manual for the Aga. Great food at the local pub 'The Woolpack in the village too.
Attentive owners looking after our every need. Exceptionally well equipped kitchen, beautifully renovated throughout. Overlooking the River Wye and watching the kayakers was the cherry on the cake.
I stayed here for 3 nights with my family of four and the grandparents. We were thrilled with the property - it certainly felt 5 star! Everyone had their own space, it was so much bigger than photos showed, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of every room and bathroom. We had beautiful weather so even made use of the garden terrace for sunset drinks. We made use of the recommendations, walking to the cafe, kids park and country pub. We would definitely stay here again and will certainly use the bolthole portfolio for our next stay.
We had a fantastic stay at the Coach House! The decor and furnishings were excellent quality and the house had everything we needed for our stay. Each bedroom was spacious and had a en suite which made it easy for 3 couples to stay and the kitchen & lounge areas were great to relax in. The grounds are beautiful with lots of walks from the doorstep and only a short way into some local towns. Can’t recommend the Coach House strongly enough!
The quality of the fixtures and fittings was really high with John Lewis towels and quite electrical appliances. The overall quality of the decoration gardening was excellent as was the standard of cleanliness Very impressed
We booked Old Fox Cottage to celebrate the Christmas holidays. Communication before our arrival was fantastic and provided easy directions to the cottage. Once we entered we were thrilled to see the cottage had been decorated for the holidays including Christmas crackers. We were also supplied with tea, milk, bread, butter and cake. Just what we needed after our journey. The village itself is very cute and the pub across the square is delicious. We were also provided with some excellent suggestions on additional places to eat. The village is very conveniently located to explore the best of the...more
Great location for us , peaceful and gorgeous views. Local pubs all great food and Dyrham Park on your doorstep. Accomodation perfect, clean and had evetything you needed nice touch was some fresh milk on arrival for a lovely cuppa after the journey, and a sizable TV(someplaces we have stayed the has been TV tiny) one small item missing would have been nice to have a couple of chairs outside however we didn't ask so more than likely we couldn't find them. Missing the lovely horses, Rupert and the very friendly dogs and cats. Would highly reccomend and stay again.
Very spacious and clean property, beds very comfy with soft pillows, location great for centre, 10min walk down the side of canal , house keeper sammii very helpful and on hand if required, dining area in kitchen could do with a tv on wall, the only cons I would say is window cleaner required and garden would look so much better with plants/climbers around fencing and few on patio , garden is huge and looks bit bare but it’s a great property with all mod cons including x box in front room which my son tommy loved, cake and milk on arrival a nice touch we would stay again, lee, wendy & tommy
We were delighted to arrive at Farthingdales to be welcomed with a wreathe on the door and a lovely real Christmas tree. The property was very attractive and comfortable. A guide to the working of the microwave and coffee machine would have been helpful. Also sturdy heat resistant gloves for handling the logs/fire. The main bedroom was cold and the radiator didn't seem to be working? Otherwise we really liked it.
The house itself is stunning! Plenty of space and amenities for hosting, lots of kitchen utensils for cooking at the home or space to eat if you order a takeaway! The fire in the lounge makes it so cosy. The entire house was spotless and clean! Would highly recommend to anyone. The Plough Inn pub nearby is a lovely cosy pub if you fancy a drink or a meal out. My only fault would be that although we were aware that checkout is at 10, I have never stayed anywhere where house keeping have turned up at exactly the time of checkout. We were running 10 minutes behind and it felt a shame that they ...more
Beautifully furnished and finished cottage with everything you need. Lots of space for a big group. Great communication with owners via email and phone, and even on hand to help when needed during stay. Super clean and cosy feel inside, hot tub and outside space was lovely too. Easy location to find and park. Nearyby to shops and other towns. Thank you for a lovely stay!
What a treat, the pictures do it no justice. The house has everything you need and lovely a warm with two fabulous fireplaces for cold days.
We stayed with 2 children & our dog. The cottage was well equipped, a few lovely touches such as a home made cake on arrival. We had the log burner on a few times which gave the cottage a real cosy feel. Fin the horse was a big hit with our kids! Lovely quiet walks right on our doorstep, & well situated to visit the local Cotswold towns & villages. Would happily recommend & would stay again. 5*
We had a wonderful stay at Sundown Lodge. It is very clean and well equipped with modern appliances, and in a perfect peaceful location to explore the Cotswolds. We met the owner, Nick, who couldn't do enough to make our stay an enjoyable one. We certainly hope to book again in the future.
Amazing place, we will definitely stay here again at some point. The kitchen was well equipped and the stove was lovely and warm
Enjoyed a fantastic long weekend at Hillview Hideaway recently. The accommodation is beautifully presented and provides a real home away from home feel. Everything has been thought out to create a wonderful space that's as comfortable as it is practical. All of the furnishings and equipment provided is top quality and in great condition, lighting is all labelled up to avoid confusion, heating system is a simple as you could make it, minor things but they really help you make the most of relaxing and enjoying your well earned break. Not to mention getting to enjoy a soak in the hot tub each ...more
Beecham Farmhouse is tastefully decorated and offered us a perfect location for our get together. We loved the luxurious accommodation and the kitchen was so well equipped with everything we needed. Thank you to Adele who communicated with us so well before our stay and met us on arrival. Thank you for the bubbly, the coffee and all the logs for our fires. We will definitely be booking another stay.
We had a totally wonderful Christmas week at Wynyard Mill. Gorgeous location - we could hear the Avon rushing under the house from the 1st floor - so cool! Everything was immaculate, lovely furnishings & decor, beautiful subtle lighting with lots of nice lamp options. Very helpful Welcome guide full of useful info re walks, eateries & places of interest. We cooked Christmas dinner for family here & we had all the utensils, appliances & crockery we needed. The kitchen could not have been better kitted out. We had several London friends pop over during the week and everyone fell in lov...more
Colebrook was perfect for a family Christmas . Beautifully appointed house with a lovely big kitchen ,with the handy village shop and cafe in easy walking distance. The top floor is completely taken up with a bedroom dressing room suite . With two double bedrooms and a small bunk room on the 1st floor. 10 minutes drive from moreton on marsh , full of little shops and cafes . Family trips to Warwick castle for the light show and some went to Diddly Squat!
Quiet, beautiful views. Cleverly designed space. Owner very helpful, friendly and easily accessible if needed
This is our second visit to this lovely cottage. It is really well equipped and very comfortable. Great location for visiting Blenheim and Oxford.
We rented this house for an 18th birthday celebration with the family and it was perfect. The house was beautiful. It was well maintained. The hot tub was wonderful. The gardens were beautiful. The fact we had complete free rein of the estate was fabulous. It was a perfect house in a wonderful location And I would highly recommend
A lovely comfortable stay. Betty is not your average “Shepherds Hut”. It has central heating a great shower and a wood burning stove really heats the place. Great location, just away from a quiet road, so good access.. A short drive or walk down to the village- The Cross pub was amazing. Lovely cycling, walks on your doorstep. Taurus crafts and micro brewery on your doorstep and ideally located for other tourist visits. A peaceful haven. We hope to be back soon.
we were a party of 12 made up of siblings and partners celebrating a big birthday and stayed at Foxholme for 3 nights during the autumn half term. Our stay was made all the better given the house, its setting and the lovely little touches that Bolthole had gone to in order to welcome us. The beds were comfy and more importantly the bed linen was very nice (apart from no matress topper on the bed my wife and I had, but not for anyone else I hasten to add, so clearly an oversight I feel) The kitchen is great and the centre of any house and the lounges are certainly plentiful, but somewhat poin...more
The Barn at Kington Grange is a large comfortable barn with great furniture, cozy fire and large rooms (all en suite). We loved walks from the door, wild swimming on site and playing tennis. The nearest village is small and quiet (still picturesque) but Henley is only 5 minutes further away and has great pubs, restaurants and shops. Kington Grange is really well located with Stratford, Warwick and Birmingham all easily reachable. Special mention for Susan and Phil who were incredibly welcoming and gave great advice. We would happily return.
Stayed for just 3 nights, wow, so peaceful, we had fantastic weather which helped, beautiful countryside, very quiet, the pub down the road with beautiful back garden( name escapes me) food was on point, very good. The house was just amazing, just what we needed and absolutely would return for longer stay. Only criticism if any, internet intermittent so telly was not great, we got round this by watching downloaded films on laptop plugged into telly so all good, could have done with radio or Bluetooth speaker will remember to take with us next time, games room would be great fur kids( we didn’t...more
Easy to find with clear instructions, lovely little village with great local farm shop and cafe. The downstairs kingsize bed is hard to get into as there is a brick wall on both sides so need to climb from the bottom up. The underfloor heating didn’t warm us up at all, we had help to try and get it warmer but was set max 19 degrees when it was 1 degree outside- had to sit under blankets and coats! Great for a couple of days away and so peaceful!
We had a lovely stay in Stepping Stones Cottage. We especially enjoyed the peace and quiet! It was clean and very comfortable with all we needed for a fantastic break. The owners were very quick to resolve a small problem and had done so much in the cottage to help us have a great stay. The surrounding area is beautiful and we were very lucky to be able to enjoy all the spring flowers in glorious sunshine. We will hopefully return.
Rose Cottage is situated in the heart of the village and was perfect for what we wanted. We loved the decor and the kitchen contained everything we needed. The enclosed courtyard was lovely for the morning coffee and we enjoyed a wonderful fire during our stay. The village pub is 50m away and was friendly and had a great menu. The social club was also welcoming and holds lots of events. The community shop has everything you could possibly need and more! Parking was in the Square - we had two cars and it was not a problem to get a space nearby. The beds were comfy and we had a wonderful relaxin...more
Een ruim, proper, en heel gezellig huis. We hadden er een heerlijke tijd met ons gezin van vijf. Een aanrader!
Lovely cottage in a fantastic location for easy access to surrounding areas, great pub in the village the Fleece food and drink excellent, It would be helpful if there where some leaflets left in the cottage detailing the surrounding villages and places of interest.
Oh wow, where do I begin, what a find this beautiful little cottage was, spotlessly clean very well equipped for all your needs, excellent location plus its own parking space , and great private back garden, literally a 2 minute walk into the beautiful village of Bourton-on-the-Water which has a host of pubs, coffee shops and lovely little independent shops.will definitely be back! Many Thanks.
After an exhausting year we were ready for a break. The Drying House was a wonderful surprise. Very clean and comfortable with the joys of 2 bathrooms. The bed was incredible and we slept like the proverbial logs. Just a couple of minutes from the lovely Ledbury town centre but completely quiet and hidden away. The kitchen was very well equipped and the first place we have ever stayed in where the kitchen knives were actually usable. There are lots of leaflets available to browse when planning days out, which was very helpful and we did the walk to Frith Wood walk which we would definite...more
Excellent property in all respects other than fronting directly onto a busy main road at peak times (60 mph speed limit). This was such a shame and detracted from our enjoyment of the incredible lounge. The property is described as nestling in the village which sadly is not really the case. Highly recommend the cottage itself if prepared to tolerate the road outside.
Lovely stay, beautiful place, spacious, clean, ample parking and great location. Hosts were very welcoming and left some useful tips on where to eat locally.
Lovely stay at this thatched Cotswold cottage on the Mill View Estate. Plenty of room for a family of four. Nice time paddle boarding and kayaking. Staff on the site were very friendly. Good communication from owners prior to stay. Some of the decor is a bit dated.
We’ve just come back from 3 nights at Deer Park Farmhouse. What an amazing house, and the garden is just fabulous. So much bigger than we expected. The house is immaculate and had everything we needed. The space exceeded our expectations. It’s so peaceful and beautifully maintained. The pre arrival information was super helpful. We were trying to work out when we could return while we were still there. Thank you, we loved it.
Disappointedly there was no welcome hamper, but the Fold is a beautiful property in a stunning location.
Positives were booking experience, location, presentation and overall comfort of the Hayloft. We especially loved the outside space. Negatives were there was no heating for the first 24 hours and no alternative offered. We reported this shortly after arrival when all our attempts to follow the instructions failed. We were told to contact the next morning if the heating continued to fail and the two messages left were not picked up till late afternoon so the heating wasn’t fixed till that evening. It made the first evening and morning uncomfortably cold. There was also a continuing leak in ...more
What a beautiful cottage! I had explored this cottage on a 3d tour before we arrived (numerous times!) but nothing could prepare me for how beautiful the cottage actually was. It was the perfect space for a multi generational break away celebrating a 60th birthday. We had a 1 year old with us, and I can’t recommend this cottage enough for someone travelling with children. They had baby gates, travel cots stored away upstairs, a beautiful vintage style silver cross high chair, even peppa pig cutlery which my daughter loved! This really was a home from home, and we really hope to return ag...more
We stayed at this lovely cottage for a short break and were delighted with what we found. The house is beautiful - the pictures do not do it justice. It has a home away from home feeling about it. Extremely well equipped, very clean and very comfortable. Its location is perfect for visiting the beautiful Cotswolds villages most of which are a short 15-20 minute drive.
We had a lovely stay at grindstone mill as a university reunion with a few new baby additions to the group! We had the best time and would definitely like to return in the future!
We had a lovely time staying in this cottage. It was a great location to visit Stroud and the surrounding area!
We had a very cosy and comfortable stay and will return! Stephen and Jess were more than accommodating. Thank you x
All aspects of our stay were excellent. The property was beautifully furnished, very well located on the outskirts of the lovely town and within walking distance of Sudeley Castle. The pool table and garden were an added bonus.
Singer House provided the perfect base for a stay in the Cotswolds. It is a perfect base for Chipping Camden as all is within a simple walk. We would (will) definitely use again.
Its a stunning property, well worth a stay. Quiet, private & very safe if you have children or dogs. Plenty of parking which was ideal for our party as friends came from all directions. The property is well looked after and is fully equipped with what you need for a property that sleeps 16 ie, 2 toasters, 2 dishwashers, 2 kettles plus an aga & range electric cooker. We would consider staying again at the property.
The property is very authentic and atmospheric. It has some low door jams and maybe could benefit from some warning strips. Additionally, in one of the bedrooms you can hear the local wildlife, so might be worth bringing some ear plugs. Location is very nice and quiet in the countryside and it has a big garden which is good for children.
We had a great stay at Middle Barn. The size, layout and location made it perfect for our family gathering at Christmas. The accommodation was very clean, warm and well-equipped. Yhe fridge is a total joy! Good showers and comfy beds. The owners were very helpful and their dogs and cats very friendly. The location is fabulous, very rural with walks all around.
A lovely place to stay with all the amenities you would need, for a family special birthday that made the weekend great!!
Absolutely brilliant, wonderful party place with all guests hoping to return together next year. Small complaint, the snooker table had a significant rip which did mean it was not possible to have a proper game. Otherwise it was perfect.
We booked The Loft in conjunction with Kington Grange itself. This was an amazing space to use for communal activities and meals. It was really comfortable, bright and had some lovely features.
We really enjoyed our time at Mouse Manor. Lovely peaceful setting with plenty to do in the surrounding area.
We loved our stay in Locke's Cottage. The village was so peaceful but only a short drive from the centre of Stratford, so an ideal location for sightseeing.
Such a lovely and unique place. The place came with everything needed and was warm and cosy. The grounds were beautiful and we had clear nights so perfect for stargazing. The location was great and provided a good hub for visiting local towns. Helen checked in with us to make sure everything was ok with our stay and on hand should we need anything. Would 100% recommend and would love to go back.
Lovely thatched cottage in a great location, for relaxing, walking, sigh seeing. Close enough to visit other towns, local Pub did good food plus nice hospitality. Will be re booking.
Enjoyed our stay at Ashworth House for birthday celebration with family. We were fortunate to have dry but cold weather.
We had a great stay beautiful views great location and facilities would definitely recommend to others
Our Easter break was truly delightful, thanks to a charming cottage that served as the perfect springboard for family adventures. Nestled within a picturesque village, the cottage offered a warm and inviting atmosphere, ideal for relaxing after our daily explorations. We embarked on numerous family walks directly from our doorstep, discovering the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding countryside. With its rolling hills and landscapes, the area provided endless opportunities for outdoor enjoyment. And when we craved a traditional pub meal, a short, scenic drive led us to welcoming local estab...more
We stayed at Kington Grange for a weekend away with friends. We had a great time in a lovely home, everything we needed was provided, the hosts were extremely helpful and accommodating and the location is ideal for a get away. Would definitely stay again.
Malmesbury is a lovely, historic town surrounded by the river Avon and a great place for 4 friends to meet. The Leat is a short distance from the centre of town on the banks of a tributary of the main river. It has a high standard of comfort with two bedrooms and a living space on the top floor full of light and with great views over the town. There is a little ducklng and diving under the sloping ceilings and lots of stairs but it makes a very interesting and warm place to stay.
Thank you to the owners of Paddock Cottage and Bolthole Retreats. The process was very professional from start to finish. The Cottage itself was fabulous. Very good location, great bed and shower. Sofa and TV was perfect. The kitchen had everything you needed. The Cottage is in great condition and we enjoyed our stay. We will return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Whippet Cottage. Location is good for visiting local area. Lovely village & pub. Lots to explore!
Hawthorn Cottage is a spacious house well equipped for a very comfortable stay. It was quiet and had good access to the areas we were visiting. Great communication when we needed it. I would highly recommend this property.
We loved staying at ridgeway farmhouse for a family reunion wk end The property was clean warm and welcoming . We loved the large round dining table and the spacious sitting room with woodburner and wonderful views across open countryside. The bedrooms were also stylishly and tastefully decorated with lovely cotton bedding and we felt the house had a restful calm feel about it. The responsiveness of the host was excellent when we had a query. The short drive to Stratford on Avon was straightforward. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We would definately consider returning.
Excellent location, comfortable, ideally situated to explore Burford and surrounding areas. Easy to access and use all amenities
Our party comprised 6 adults and three toddlers. The farmhouse was described by one of the party as our best destination yet- the farmhouse being very homely. The toddlers loved the huge garden and seeing the farm animals. All bedrooms having en-suite bathrooms was much appreciated. The tv didn’t work but the owner did come round to apologise. So much to see in this area- Cotswold Country Farm was a big hit
In general the property was good but required a bit of attention to detail in particular the windows which were very dirty. Bed linen and towels a bit tired and a bed throw which looked tatty and unclean. No soap at all in the bathroom so it was a good job we took our own. The Welcome Pack consisted of 2 x packs of cheap biscuits and some milk ! We have stayed in many many cottages ( including one of yours at Christmas which was excellent in Charlbury ) and have come to expect certain standards for this sort of price and sadly this one did not come up to the mark.
Great cottage Very comfy Newly renovated Nice kitchen Dog friendly Only constructive criticism would be to add hooks
7 of us stayed at the Parsonage to celebrate our 60ths and we had the most wonderful time. The open plan space in the kitchen/dining/orangery was so conducive to sociability, we barely wanted to leave the house! It felt like a real privilege to stay there. Thank you so much. There were just a few little niggles which we hesitate to mention but do so as it might help future guests if attended to. There were plenty of towels in the house but only one or two of the rooms had them placed on the bed - in others there were none which we thought strange. The fob/security box for the front ga...more
Having grown up in the area, I always hoped I could visit and actually stay in the village! What a perfect find with Stone Cottage. A perfect mix of a beautiful old cottage with modern amenities. Cosy and comfortable, it was perfect for us. Stanton is the epitome of all things Cotswold and the Mount Inn never disappoints!
This is a beautiful cottage in the heart of Minster Lovell. It was an excellent base for us to visit nearby sites and lots of great walks to do in the local area. Cottage is very homely and comfortable. Nice garden with views onto the field behind where we saw lots of rabbits. Cottage is well equipped and I would highly recommend!
Wonderful cottage very conveniently located in Charlbury. Easy access to the shops and local pubs especially The Bull
This was our 3rd stay at Stow House, and we loved it just as much as the first time. It’s in a great location in the centre of Stow on the Wold, next door to The Old Butchers, our favourite restaurant! The house is really well equipped, clean and warm, and Rosie the housekeeper is exceptionally helpful. Bolthole Retreats seem very efficient and easy to deal with, and everything was just as expected. Definitely recommend a stay at Stow House!
Delightful cottage, beds super comfy and we had a great stay. Would come back. Only little criticism was the back terrace could have been swept but didn’t spoil our stay.
We had a lovely relaxing family get together . House setting facilities perfect We will return thank you for making us so welcome
Clean and well maintained property - 5 stars Double bed is a regular queen size - room would easily support a larger bed which would have been more comfortable but all other furnishings comfortable enough - 3 stars Location really requires a car - 3 stars
Lots of space for communal activities. Enough bedrooms for privacy. Well equipped (needs a new toaster and a full length mirror). We made good use of the games room for darts and pool. We couldn't find the microwave (may have been part of the oven). Rear garden had comfortable furniture with seating for about 10 and it's a sun trap on the afternoon. There is a barbeque with gas provided (we didn't use it). Parking for 3 cars as described (we found it better to reverse in). There are 3 pubs, a village shop and a butchers in the village. Ideally situated for walkers, the Cotswold Way is about 50...more
The place really is as good as it looks but the photo cannot convey the tasteful period and modern decor and furnishings, the spacious layout and the relaxed feel of the place. The owner greeted us, shortly after we arrived and has two small charming and well behaved dogs. Some very helpful starter packs are provided of all the essentials, such as washing up tools and soap, dishwasher tablets, washing machine tablets, tea and coffee, etc. The kitchen oven takes a bit of getting used to but works well. It was short of a shelf but the owner sorted this out for us, when this was queried. The kitc...more
Arrived to find Rose Cottage as we'd expected to find it; clean, cosy and comfortable. Located next to Rodborough church it was nice and quiet with nice views and sunny aspect. The pub is only 3 minutes walk up the road, the Prince Albert, and is dog friendly with a great vibe. Rodborough Common is at the top of the hill and only 10 minutes walk from Rose Cottage, great for dog walking and some lovely views. A good base to discover the south Cotswolds.
We booked very last minute so there was only 2 nights available for our dates but we wanted secluded, peace and quite, pretty scenery, a little bit of luxury and somewhere nice to walk. The Old Pump house gave us all of this. The drive up to the property through the forest was idyllic. The rooms were huge, all the beds and sofa were comfortable. The kitchen was large and had every utensil you could require. We had a long drive and managed to get in slightly earlier and the house keeper was quick in responding and very friendly. The biscuits on arrival were a nice touch. If I had to...more
Highly recommend this house for a large group. We were 9 ladies celebrating a friend’s 60th. It was perfect for our needs. Beautifully decorated in all rooms to a good standard. Everything you need is there. Views are amazing front and back. Safe garden we had 2 dogs with us. The location is a little out of the town and ok to walk in the day but not great for evening. Lovely walk through the castle grounds. Our only hiccup was the Tesco delivery guy couldn’t find us (at night, delivered next day) as he said there was no sign for the house and indeed on looking it’s poor so maybe that is the...more
Generally a good choice. But we were very concerned about returning to the Stables at night . Outside lights down the steps do not work and the large light on the chimney was intermittent . Quite dangerous. Never understood the guidance on how to deal with the rubbish - recycled items should go into the small summer house ? But it was impossible to open the door and there was no sign of a recycling bin. Upstairs felt cramped with the sloping ceilings. Good selection of crockery and cutlery. Plenty of cleaning materials. Nice and warm with plenty of hot water.
Two of us stayed here in January. It is a well equipped and well appointed location. Everywhere was very clean and tidy. Everything worked well. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower were fine. The outside temperature was pretty cold so it took a while to heat the place when we first arrived but when we got it right it was comfortable. The location is perfect - right on the market square and the facilities in Stow are excellent - good places to eat and drink and some lovely shopping.
This property and the adjoining lodge are wonderful. We were a group of ~18, big family gathering over Christmas. The court was ideal, it had a large extremely well equipped kitchen - huge adjacent area for storing food, and enough room for many cooks in the kitchen so we could prepare our feasts. The dining room which seated >20 was right opposite with a real wood fire - such a splendid room and ambiance. Up the magnificent staircase is the formal sitting room again with a fire with tuned piano - which sounded great. The room had lovely light streaming in during the day and views of the grou...more
We booked out the Coppice for a family get together. It was a great setting and a lovely space for our family to spend some quality time together. The setting offers fantastic opportunity for pictures and has a good amount of indoor and outdoor space. The host was very responsive and on hand to resolve and issues and we really appreciated this. Thank you again for the great stay.
The house was lovely and very clean. It had everything we needed but headroom a bit low in places. For those of you with pacemakers (like me) it has an induction hob so beware! It needs rubber mats for the ensuite and bathroom. Overall very comfortable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kimkeri. It was especially nice that we could park the car behind house and then spend most of our time walking to everything. Our granddaughter was thrilled to have a playground so close. The place was very comfortable and well equipped.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hyde Tyning Cottage. It was very well appointed, very clean and very comfortable. The location was great - tucked away at the end of a lane with lovely countryside views. We would definitely stay there again.
The house was perfect for a weekend celebration. In particular there was lots of space downstairs so we could spread out. A well equipped kitchen with plenty of plates, cutlery etc was a bonus as we ate in a couple of times. We went out walking in wild weather and on our return felt that a shoe rack and more coat hooks in the hallway would have been really helpful. The only downside; we felt the quality of the bedding and bedlinen could be improved to make the bedrooms more luxurious.
The cottage was very well appointed and had everything we needed for a lovely stay. I'd definitely recommend Maisey Cottage.
We really enjoyed staying here and found the house extremely clean and inviting. Very warm, and lovely stove. Slightly lacking in commodities - no tea towels, dishwasher tablets, detergent or recycling bags. The temperature valves on the indoor showers were not working so water was rather chilly, and one shower leaked through the ceiling, but the agents kindly arranged a same-day plumber to come and fix it. They also gave us a bag of wood for the stove, which was appreciated.
Very well placed, equipped and beautifully designed cottage and holiday home. The kitchen is superbly equipped inc a dishwasher and a washing machine. Close by a bakery for fresh bread and a beautiful walk. Host left us fresh brew coffee, tea and biscuits, which was lovely after a long drive. Excellent guides to show you the way along the house. The host is so thoughtful that there was even torches in bedside table drawers!
Stayed here for 2 nights as 5 couples because we had a wedding in the area to go to. The house was plenty big enough for the 10 of us. We were made to feel very welcome with a great welcome pack of essentials. The cottage is very homely and the beds are super comfortable. Shame we weren’t staying longer to spend more time exploring.
Our impression as soon as we walked in, and looked around was that it is a very lovely cottage. It's size belies the impression from the outside. The lounge is very cosy, with a sofa and armchair which are both very comfortable. It is well lit with the lights on. The dining room is a very handy distance between the lounge and the kitchen. The main bedroom has a super large, spacious bed which I was happy to stay in when I awoke. So comfortable. The main bathroom is upstairs in the roof, accessed via a smaller staircase. The only point is that the roof closes down the room you have on the...more
We celebrated an early Christmas at Woodland Cottage - 5 adults and 2 children and it was perfect for us. Angela personally welcomed us and had put up festive decorations which added to the warmth of the pretty cottage. The third bedroom with three single beds worked especially well and the three bathrooms were a big plus. I cooked a Christmas dinner and there were plenty of pots, pans, baking trays etc - unusual for a holiday cottage to be so well stocked. Much appreciated and dinner was delicious! The fresh local eggs provided were a real treat for breakfast too. The storms prevented us from...more
Christmas cottage is a beautiful looking cottage within walking distance to all of the amenities and walks, Tetbury trail being one which is worth doing. We were lucky to get parked right out side of the cottage. Some areas of the cottage would benefit a little updating. The lounge and bedrooms were nicely furnished. The master having a lovely super king bed. Both bedrooms had lovely bed linen and comfy mattresses. Hair dryer was old but worked ok. What let it down for us was despite stating there would be logs and kindling, there wasn’t. The log burner hadn’t been cleaned out. Kindling a...more
Very comfortable stay in Paxford. Well-equipped cottage, with spacious downstairs. High quality welcome pack inc. local produce.
This was perfect for old friends catching up with a dog and children - spacious, clean and cosy. The only feedback would be that it was quite hard to find arriving in the dark, as house names are not visible and there wasn’t enough signal to use apps.
A most enjoyable few days. We would certainly consider returning to Queens Cottage at Sudeley Castle.
Lovely property, all amenities, warm and comfortable. Stunning walks around the lakes and short distance from the lovely town of Cirencester.
5 stars. A wonderful property in a great location. Perfect for exploring Cheltenham and beyond. Highly recommended.
We loved our long weekend at Spring Barn. It was sparklingly clean, very comfortable for our family, and ideally situated for exploring the Cotswolds. The road to get to the driveway is single track, but that’s exactly what we were looking for in time away from the city. Close to good villages, shops, and walks (we loved taking advantage of the book of suggested walks), then a welcome refuge to return to and sit by the fire. Thank you!
Beautiful cottage wonderfully decorated in a lovely location. However the kitchen is a nightmare to navigate as everything is hidden away, the tiny fridge was hidden under the stairs down a step not the easiest thing to access. Our biggest issue was the heating which is controlled externally the cottage was freezing when we arrived as no heating was on despite it being November then the electric went, then came back in we had to continually communicate with the house keeper all week to keep turning the heating on as the house was not warm which was a pain and interrupted our whole stay. Then ...more
The Emma Dent cottage is a wonderful optimization of space and comfort. The living room, dining area and kitchen are very spacious, and the upstairs bedrooms very comfortable. The bathrooms are well lit, very modern and the showers are, frankly, very appealing after a day of tramping. The location is superb, easy walking distance to all of Winchcombe. We couldn't have asked for a better place to anchor our wanderings between Broadway and Bourton. We will certainly reserve it again.
Brilliant communication from start to finish. The cottage was spotlessly clean and comfortable and luxuriously fitted out. Everything that you needed to make the weekend a success was supplied, including plenty of logs for the fire, books and games, coffee machine, beautiful bedding, Smart TV. Everything looked brand new. Wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Lovely welcome pack on arrival including a bottle of fizz, which was a nice touch. Would definitely stay at this fabulous cottage again.
Siskin Barn is beautifully designed with a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern amenities. We stayed as a group of friends for a special birthday celebration and everyone was blown away by this place. Our favourite things were, the underfloor heating, cleanliness, hot tub, log burner, American style fridge freezer, kitchen appliances, and extra touches such as bath robes, flip flops and extra towel for the hot tub. Was in a quiet spot but within walking distance of pubs, Indian & Chinese restaurants. Also only 15 minutes drive from Stratford upon Avon. All in all amazing! Would love to st...more
We had a fabulous 3 night stay, a family celebration for 14 adults and one child and one small dog (my parent's 60th Wedding Anniversary). Plenty of room to either spread out in different rooms or indeed sit together in one room without feeling cramped. The snooker table was well used by many members of the group. The kitchen was well equipped, lots of plates, cups, glasses and the 2 dishwashers was really useful. The fridge was ample big enough even though we had brought most of our food for the whole weekend with us. We loved that we could all sit around the kitchen table together. We...more
Lovely cottage just off High St Broadway, so convenient for the shops and restaurants in Broadway which is beautiful. Parking available on Back Lane. Cottage was very comfortable; well equipped kitchen with some little extras (tea/coffee/milk and cleaning products). Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was modern with a decent electric shower. Lovely courtyard at the back which was a suntrap , it would get well used during the summer. We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend.
We stayed in Thimble Cottage to welcome in the New Year. It was perfect! Everything about it was amazing. It’s so pretty on the outside and decorated like a little English cottage should be. The location is amazing. There is no parking but we managed to get a space towards the pub/church which is only a 2 min walk away. The welcome hamper is such a kind thing to do and little touches just make it even better. Rachel, the owner was really easy to reach and so helpful. Would love to go back.
We hasve stayed at Ledge View on numerous occasions and always had a lovely holiday. Wether that being an adventure around the Cotswolds or a comfy relaxing time by the log fire, we always enjoy our stay. We chose this particular property becuse one of our party is partialy disabled and the downstairs bedreoom and wet room are ideal, so any potential guest thinking about staying here, please put your mind at ease, it's ideal. On this occasion we did, unfortunatly, have to call out the paramedics at short notice and very late at night. We were initialy worried that the ambulance would not be...more
We had a family group of 7 adults and an extra two for Christmas lunch. All were accommodated with individual comfortable bedrooms and the large living areas made it easy to entertain a large group like this. The kitchen worked perfectly for Xmas day and for the other meals- well equipped and spacious. Open fire was a nice addition. And the ample Welcome Pack was much appreciated.
The bolt hole site sells the dream with ‘optimised’ pictures of the cottage and majors on the aesthetics that you’ll find. And in the main, that’s all you need if the shower is good and the bed is comfy with clean linen. Which both were. However for the money I forked out for 3 nights. I found missing kitchen implements, mixed messaging in terms of eg a washing up kit (no sponge or scourers), a broken window. Poor maintenance. A junk cupboard. Sofas that were neither cottagey or comfy (corporate style sofas). But worst of all the cottage really smelt damp and there was visible black mould ...more
No logs supplied and not told where to get them which was essential as the owners had control of the heating and kept turning it off. Unacceptable in winter when paying a good rent. Garden a mess. Second bedroom needs a new bed as you have to climb into it from the bottom . Only fit for children .
We booked Juliets cottage already vaguely knowing Charlbury but couldn't have expected how much it would exceed our expectations. The location is perfect, a very short walk to everything you need including the pubs, deli and a little further on, the Co-Op. The house was perfect and cosy with storm Darragh blowing away. We will definitely be booking again and can't wait to return.
Another great stay on a very nice house in a perfect location for walking the dogs and then going to the pub for a beer or two.
We had a lovely stay at Maple House to celebrate a family birthday. Seven adults in attendance although the property would easily accommodate 9 adults and additional (small) children in travel cots (if allowed by the owner?). Location was excellent for what we wanted and The Ebrington Arms was very close by with an excellent range of beers on tap and great restaurant which we dined at one evening. Small issue with the boiler when we arrived but this was sorted quickly and efficiently by Tim and his team soon after we reported the issue. The Jacuzzi was an added bonus for our trip. I would hi...more
This was our third stay at Winchcombe and as before it was comfortable and relaxing in pleasant surroundings. The cottage is very well equipped plus a welcome tray and toiletries . Plenty of towels and tea towels provided. Conveniently sited for easy walk into Winchcombe which has a good choice of places to eat. We will definitely stay again. Although still comfortable the cottage does look a bit tired with chipped paintwork and a shower cubicle that needs a bit of TLC. A good ‘spring clean’ would go a long way to rectify this.
What a beautiful group of cottages you have! In a perfect position if you want to park the car for the weekend, pubs restaurants and small shops literally 4 minute walk away. Beautifully situated for walking the countryside or if you want to see more of the Cotswolds you're right in amongst it. A well equipped cottage with extra touch of tea coffee, etc, along with fresh milk! If I had to be critical, the double bed is a little hard, but no way can it suit everyone. A hiccup with the shower, but the maintenance were soon there to solve it! A lovely weekend break! 100% we will be back!
A charming and beautifully secluded property perfect for unplugging from the rush and stress of daily life. The cottage was full of nooks and crannies to explore but big enough for the whole family to feel like everyone had their own space. The perfect place to enjoy the beautiful countryside but still close enough to beautiful villages and places of interest to explore
Clean inside, furniture a bit worn. WiFi good. Outside windows and frames badly needed cleaning. Small courtyard to rear was a good suntrap in the afternoon, however covered in weeds and moss. Needs a good clean and brush down.
We stayed at Almsbury Farmhouse for 3 nights, for a family get together. There were 13 of us, aged from 18-65 and the accommodation worked very well, with a bathroom each for the three adult couples and a shared bathroom for the younger family members who had the bedrooms on the top floor. It is in a beautiful location with fields and countryside views, yet only a short walk from the village. We enjoyed spotting the deer, and hearing the owls at night and church bells in the morning. The farmhouse had everything we needed, the kitchen was extremely well equipped with more than enough cro...more
lovely little cottage, as expected. Beds very comfortable, bathroom a little small but expected for a small country cottage. Could do with a little attention to soft furnishings to give it the real wow factor.

The cottage was as I expected and fine for 2 people. I had hoped there would have been some logs for the fire. So that was the disappointing aspect. But I would stay again
The cottage was set in a beautiful location with fabulous views. There was so much attention to detail, the home was super clean and Bec’s very comfortable. We particularly loved the kitchen which was perfect for our family get away. The lounge was really cosy with the log burners- we were even left a rose on Valentine’s Day We will definitely be recommending this cottage to all our friends Thank you so much! We didn’t want to leave!
beautiful, well appointed, cozy and comfortable cottage. the cottage was very clean, well kept and we really appreciated the Xmas tree and other Xmas decoration details throughout the living and dinning room/kitchen. it slept the five of us plus our newly born granddaughter very comfortably. the only one remark is that the two bathrooms, especially the shower room, are small , some shelving in the shower room would help to unpack ones toiletries
Fabulous place in a beautiful, quiet area and we had a fabulous stay. The inside was perfectly clean although windows need cleaned outside. An extra sofa in the living area would be good. Highly recommended.
Excellent accommodation and location. ideal for exploring cotswolds. Everything you need is provided… a real treat.
We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable cottage and would recommend quirky interesting Malmesbury. The cottage itself was quiet, well equipped and warm during our February stay. My only other comment was that the heating was a little unpredictable and we found it to be occasionally too warm in the night. I suggest that better instructions are provided for control it.
We really enjoyed our break in Jasmine cottage. It was very well equipped and comfortable. Our only complaints were finding it was difficult due to the roadworks nearby and the ensuite shower was unreliable but this did not spoil our stay. It was well positioned for exploring the area
Our family of 5 stayed here for a few nights. The cottage is lovely and the kitchen is a particularly good size. It was clean, well equipped and all the furniture is in good condition, although we all thought the beds were not long enough. We also did not expect to have neighbours in an apartment on a floor above the cottage, they were quite noisy and it detracted from the cottage feel. There is parking behind the cottages but we struggled to find a park some days. We liked to proximity to the village and walks in the surrounding countryside.
What a lovely little retreat set in such a place of beauty and history. Every little comfort was available, the kitchen was extremely well equipped and clean. The standards the team work to are extremely high and that is reflected in how the cottage is presented. Alison was very helpful and kind and added that extra layer of welcome. If you want to stay in a beautiful part of the country with lots of amenities of the doorstep in a lovely cottage then this is the one for you!
The accommodation itself was very nice, spacious and clean with everything you might need including milk and tea/coffee which was a nice touch. The hot tub had a couple of issues - headrest hanging off and two sets of jets did not seem to be working fully. For us though what really let it down was the lack of some nice garden furniture. The weather was lovely and whilst there was an old wooden picnic table it would have been lovely to have some nice up-to-date seating outside.
We enjoyed it very much to " own" this cozy cottage for a week, we really felt at home. The equipment and cleanliness were first class, the welcome kit and the presents were very kind and highly appreciated. I want to mention either the friendliness of the staff and the good contacts with Bolthole Retreats. Thank you!! Winchcombe is a beautiful little town, the cottage is only a few steps away from the High Street, the surrounding Cotswolds landscape can be discovered on good walking ways. There are nice little shops, two supermarkets and several pubs and cafes nearby. I recommend the Cottage...more
Very good. The flat is excellent and when we had a problem with the heating it was repaired immediately. Towels, kitchen equipment etc very good, beds comfortable. Lots of steps so not great for anyone with mobility problems, but other flats or houses on the site would be just as nice. Lots of off street parking. The staff who helped with the booking are extremely nice and professional.
We were a party of nine family members, aged twenties to seventies, with one dog, who hired this property for a weekend get-together. Its spacious layout was perfect for our needs. A large comfortable seating area allowed us to be together, luxurious bedrooms offered downtime and a good night's sleep in comfortable beds with quality linen. Kitchen facilities were good enabling us to do a Sunday roast comfortably seated at the dining table. We BBQ'd in the large lawned garden one afternoon which was good though the BBQ needs to be replaced, though we managed. The location is secluded, set pe...more
Sudeley Guest Cottage is in an excellent location, directly across the road from Sudeley Castle and a few minutes drive from the lovely town of Winchcombe. It was very comfortable and very well provided. It is verging on shabby chic but that added to the charm. We were very lucky with the weather for our stay in late March and were able to enjoy the garden. The cottage is very well positioned for exploring the wider Cotswolds area, many National Trust and English Heritage properties, the GWSR and comes with free entry to Sudeley Castle which is fabulous. Our party of four adults thoroughly e...more
I stayed at Poplar House with my family this fall and this fabulous house sure fit the bill. 4 generous bedrooms, a well stocked kitchen and space to spread out or gather as needed. We looked out at fields as the house sits at the end of a village but were steps away from a pub and other amenities offered up by the small village. This was a great spot to take a deep breath
The house was lovely, accommodation really worked for us. Oldies at the top- no noise, and kids and parents at the bottom. The house was very well equipped but needs a new tin opener. Sofas rather too firm to be comfy but beds and bathrooms all good and everything working.the bean bags were great, also the toys and games. Kids also appreciated Nintendo. The weather was appalling so we were very glad of the heated outdoor pool and used it a lot. The indoor pool was booked up until too late for our young kids . My husband appreciated the gym. Considering the weather, we had a good weekend an...more
Says it all in the title. Cottage was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable (we only used one room). Kitchen was well kitted out. Location was perfect for various attractions.
First time using Bolthole Retreats, will definitely book again. We had a slight hiccup when booking which was sorted out quickly by a friendly member of staff when we called to explain the problem. Our accommodation was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Good location and an easy, short walk into the centre of Winchcombe.
Excellent place to stay Tea coffee milk left for us on arrival Very comfortable every kitchen utensil provided. Downstairs shower small All in all a cute place to stay I would book again.
We had two nights at the Castle Gatehouse and it was a wonderful, unique stay. We loved it. Three tickets to Sudeley Castle were a lovely bonus.
We loved our stay at Sixpenny Cottage. It is such a gorgeous and cozy cottage with beautiful views over the valley. We had stayed there before in 2020 and will certainly be going back. Thank you Rosie for being so helpful.
Great location, close to walks and pubs. Lovely accommodation, clean and comfortable with lovely views. Perfectly suited!
Lovely cottage, good communication with directions and instructions. Nice to find chocolates milk and prosecco in the fridge. Lovely big garden well maintained. Peaceful location. Facilities good although need more plates and not pasta bowls. Double room on first floor the bed was smaller than I'm used to but was okay for the 3 nights. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Really enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Thank you for a lovely family break.
We arrived at South Winds and thought the location was perfect. The house very much needs a deep clean, dead flies in bath, crumbs in kitchen drawers, frying pan full of fat and generally dusty. The blind in bedroom would not open and tv ariel was broken. The dining area was the best part of the house.
In my opinion the photos showed a more desirable condition of the accommodations than they actually are. Unfortunately, during our stay demolition was taking place on the property next door so it was not the quite serene get away that I had anticipated. Lovely grounds and in close proximity of Witney.
Free entry to Sudeley castle is a nice bonus. Assistance with issues (they were only small ones) were dealt with promptly. Good proximity to village and supermarkets
The cottage was in a really good location a short (steep!) walk into Tetbury. It was warm welcoming, comfortable and well equipped. Bear in mind it has steep stairs to the top floor. Castle Combe was a half hour drive away & Westonbirt only 10/15 minutes away. Tetbury has lots of local shops, eateries and pubs.
Brilliant holiday home in a beautiful location, enjoyed waking up to the ducks and going out on the lake, in between spending time at the pool.
Corn close is amazing and very spacious, unfortunately when we arrived there were unmade beds and we had to clean all dishes and cups before using. Other than that we had a great stay for Christmas and location was perfect with great views.
Communication great, property met our needs, well equipped kitxhen (could do with a large mixing bowl!). Cleanliness in general good, downstairs loo needed the skirting boards and towel radiator cleaning. Shower good. Would be good to oil the door of the first bedroom at the top of the stairs.
This was our first stay in Sudeley Castle cottages and found it to be an excellent facility for daily commuting to Cheltenham Racecourse and for evening dining options in Winchcombe. Property standards and condition excellent. We will be staying again next year but in an alternative property, on the estate, having found St Kenelm already taken. The ease of booking and notification details from Bolthole Retreats were first class.
We had family visiting from Australia for Christmas and this was the perfect place to stay. It was well laid out with everything needed for a wonderful stay. Would definitely stay here again!
My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights. We were so pleased with everything. The cottage is really cosy and the kitchen is very well equipped. All of the places we wanted to visit were easily reached. Blockley is a very pretty village off the beaten track.
Management team were excellent in communicating with us. The place was lovely, however there were some items left in the cupboards (inc stale coffee) and fridge (milk) that could have been replaced with fresh coffee/ coffee pods for the coffee machine.
We enjoyed our time at charming Amber Cottage very much. Convenient location, comfortable and clean with everything we needed. Thank you, we would love to stay again!
A substantial accommodation, large rooms and decent kitchen area. All heating was off when we arrived and 6 degrees c outside and similar inside, as it’s a big, old property with central heating, it was the second day before it was starting to become comfortable, and warm just as we were leaving. The seating in the main sitting room needs replacing as very little support left in the chairs and sofa, so we used other rooms. The wood burner is very nice addition, bring your own logs if you intend to use it for more than one day, as that’s what is supplied. If you are uncomfortable with spi...more
We had a good stay at Stable Cottage. It is in a peaceful setting, very close to beautiful Painswick and we made use of the fab tennis court and the local walks which are accessible immediately from the accommodation. Bedrooms were comfortable and had plenty of storage. The place was clean throughout. Downsides were the small dining table (it was a squeeze to get 5 of us round it even with one of the group being a child), lack of coffee table in the lounge area, rusty mirror in the main bathroom and the high risk of being burned by the immediate scalding water in the bathrooms - don't even...more
Hope Cottage is a beautiful property in the village of Naunton. It is close to the local Pub and the Wardens Way footpaths. There is a lovely private outdoor space to the rear and parking to the front. I would recommend staying here. The only things that could be improved would be a more comfy bed and sofa and a few touch ups to the decor. The stair bannister also needs attention. Overall, a lovely stay.
Clean house and effective use of space. Good range of appliances Good pub opposite. Cutlery , glassware and cooking pans required cleaning. Noisy traffic woke us between 5-7am
Location was perfect but just a few things that could have made our stay better 1. Heated towel rails 2. Better quality towels and crockery 3. Access to log store 4. Lamps in living room Apart from the above we did enjoy our stay
We arrived and were met by the owner who was very welcoming. We were very disappointed with the general condition and cleanliness of the cottage. We were expecting a rustic property, but did not expect the dust, cobwebs, and grimy condition of most rooms. The paintwork was very worn, and the radiators rusty.the ovens were not clean, and some of the pans and trays were dirty. The only onsuite shower did not work as most of the water came down the wall, not the shower head. The alarm went off for a few seconds during the night(I take it the batteries were running flat) the entrance door was very ...more
What a treat to arrive to a warm fire, beautifully decorated Christmas tree, wine and cake. Bluebell is a beautiful cottage. Magnificent views. My only negative is that if you are wishing to self-cater, the crockery and cutlery is quite limited.
We booked the Cottage for a surprise birthday weekend for my mum. I contacted Alice the cleaner a couple of days before to find out whether we could check in earlier and we was able to which was brilliant. The Cottage is beautiful, with a lovely view over the countryside. The rooms aren't a bad size for a cottage and it has two bathrooms, one which is very large with a massive shower. There are a selection of games and DVDs in the lounge. It was also very helpful having a dishwasher and washing machine etc. The fridge/freezer is a very good size. The Cottage was pretty clean, the...more
We stayed here for 2 nights and it was the perfect break! The house is beautiful with all the amenities you need. The garden was lovely and our dog thoroughly enjoyed running around and seeing the sheep every morning. The surrounding were amazing and incredibly peaceful. Would definitely recommend staying here and we will be returning next year!
Lovely property, located in a rural setting. Large secure garden for dogs and small children. Easy route to and from motorway. Lovely walk up to the farm shop.
This house is a beautiful stay, perfect for two families and a dog in tow! The children loved the garden, the rooms were spacious and you can tell this was once an immaculate home with lovely decor. Unfortunately we did notice several things through our stay that was a little disappointing considering this was our only family holiday and something we were really excited about. Firstly the Floors were dirty causing children’s white socks to be black. I can imagine cleaning a house of this size sometimes dust collects etc but this was noticeably dirty within the first few hours of arriving. Bani...more
The cottage could benefit from more lighting in the living room as very dark. It could do with another comfy chair as could not seat 5 people comfortably. The bedrooms could do with a mirror. The oven was very dirty and could have done with a clean so we didn't like to use it. We could not sit in garden comfortably as chairs were locked in shed along with bbq and we weren't given the combination for the lock. We rang the number given to us but they didn't know the code. Beware of dog mess too in garden right outside back door. Apart from these points we did have a good weekend. Very central p...more
Great Weekend stay in this lovely cottage in a great village. No issues at all. I will (like others) mention that the tv did not work however we do not go away to watch tv. There's plenty of street parking even if a bit tight in places however the road is a dead end so no issues with through traffic.
Stayed here recently with a party of ten of us. We contacted them a few days prior asking for earlier check in as we were arriving on a Tuesday and could see it was not booked for 2-3 days beforehand, but we were told they couldn't do any earlier than 2pm, but this was better than the standard 4pm. The Tudor Manor is a lovely house with lots to keep the children entertained on site with an amazing zip line, play area, trampoline pool table, dart board, fully stocked outdoor play store and hot tub. The house was immaculately clean and there was a lovely welcome basket with wine, cookies, c...more
Comfortable well-furnished cottage with a beautiful view outside our windows where we enjoyed our stay. There were some nice hikes around the property and we took one of them. There was a cute pub close by. The road to the property was long and narrow. Recommend stocking up on a few basic groceries before you get there because the cottage does not have any. Our access code for the door did not work when we got there on a cold, dark, rainy evening. A few communications later we got the correct code.
