We absolutely loved our weekend away at this property it was in a beautiful location, rural yet only a 20 minute car ride Into Cheltenham. On arrival we were welcomed with a lovely homemade cake and the fridge had fresh farm eggs in as well as milk and butter. We bumped into Nigel the owner whilst we were out enjoying a lovey morning walk and we were lucky enough to say hello to his cows which we all loved!! We will Definitely be returning!!
A stunningly beautiful place - like living for a few days in an enchanted landscape. Absolutely loved it
We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The home was spotless and beautifully maintained, making it easy to relax and settle in. The location couldn’t have been better—lovely, scenic walks right nearby and the most charming fluffy cows as neighbors, which our family adored. It was the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy quality family time. Visiting in autumn was magical with the stunning colors all around. Thank you for a memorable getaway; we hope to return!
We had a wonderful and unforgettable stay at The Manor, a beautifully maintained and charming property that offered both comfort and elegance. The house was incredibly clean, spacious, and cosy, with so many unique rooms to explore. We especially loved the living room, where we enjoyed family movie nights on the big-screen smart TV. The dining room was also stunning, perfect for our family meals. Victoria, the property manager who lives on the estate, was fantastic—always available and ready to answer any questions, making our stay even more comfortable. Our time at The Manor truly made our tr...more
Such a lovely little place. Right on the doorstep to Bourton on the water. The hosts were brilliant, lovely little touches. Thank you!
Having struggled to find accommodation that accepts four dogs, we were thrilled that The Barns allowed two dogs in each cottage. The Barns are set in the most glorious grounds and we loved walking up the long drive talking to the horses and sheep. Both the Coach House and Stables have been beautifully renovated to create very comfortable accommodation. Kerry, our host, was incredibly helpful both before and during our stay. She has obviously put so much love into creating these beautiful cottages - it's apparent in the attention to detail and quality of furnishings. Thank you Kerry - we ha...more
By far the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in both in terms of the property and Bolthole Retreats. The property is beautifully furnished and has everything that you can possibly need. We also found Bolthole Retreats to be extremely professional and well organised and the information they provided was of a very high quality. All in all a fabulous stay for a very special family birthday.
We had a beautiful stay at Beaufort Farm House recently as a surprise 60th birthday celebration for my mum. We were a group of 8 with two children. It was a truly stunning property in a breath-taking setting. So peaceful and tranquil. From the magnificent views, to the quirky stairs and rooms, the house was simply amazing and we couldn't fault any aspect of our stay. Whilst we did have a slight miscommunication at the beginning (very minor) this was brilliantly resolved by the owner, Fiona. We had great contact and nothing was too much trouble from our first communications, during our stay a...more
We stayed at Firecrest as a family of 9 for an 80th birthday. The accommodation was perfect for the occasion. We had everything we needed for our stay. We had all the information we needed before hand and we knew who to contact if we needed anything during our stay. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again. Many thanks
We stayed here for three nights while working in the area and it was a very welcome change from the normal hotels. The location of the property is stunning with wonderful views of the valley and the lakes as well as being very quiet. Peter and Carol are fantastic hosts and Lakeside Cottage has been prepared to an extremely high standard with countless touches that show they really care - I would thoroughly recommend this place.
Our stay was absolutely perfect, wouldn't have changed a thing except the length of time (we all wished it was far longer!). The lodge, estate and surrounding areas are all beautiful and perfect and we couldn't have asked for a better place.
We had a wonderful family weekend get-together at The Old Calf Pens. Clive and Lydia are very friendly welcoming hosts and were helpful with suggestions on what to see and do locally. The accommodation was ideal for our needs with a new baby on board and was very clean and comfortable. The setting was just so idyllic on a peaceful working farm in a picturesque location yet within easy reach of all the Cotswolds hotspots.Best of all was being able to walk straight from the door. We can definitely recommend a stay at The Old Calf Pens!
From the minute we opened the front door, it was as it was advertised. We were well notified of how to check in, some lights and music welcomed us, the view amazing. Although the bubbly to enjoy was missing on arrival. Great position within the site, great facilities within, everything you would need. Just two small things, as a large family there was lack of a food cupboard to store non fridge items. Wouldn’t need to be big as there is plenty of fridge and freezer space. And maybe a bigger table at the front to eat as well as the back as that gets the sun. Food at the restaurant and takeaway ...more
Everything about our stay at Upper Lodge was exceptional. The accommodation is wonderful with all requirements for our stay catered for. The quality of the property is the best we have stayed in. Booking was easy, directions were given and Helen the housekeeper answered all questions instantly via email. I will be booking next year without hesitation.
We had an amazing time staying in High Pump Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped and had some lovely goodies waiting for us as we arrived. We loved the wood burner and used it in the evenings. We found a lot of useful information about places to visit and eat. The cottage is located in a beautiful and peaceful village of Ebrington and very close to other beautiful places in Cotswolds. We would really love to go there again. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and made our trip a very memorable one. Thank you very much
Owl’s Nest Barn is a stunning property which provided us friends with a perfect place to get together. Everything was just about perfect - beautifully and comfortably furnished and decorated with everything you could possibly need to relax. Comfy beds and lovely linen, lovely bathrooms with plenty of hot water and fluffy towels. Well appointed kitchen and a super lounge to sit and watch tv or listen to music. Spotlessly clean and well maintained with friendly and welcoming hosts, we had a marvellous weekend and will surely be back! Hugely recommended!! One thing - a better sign from both si...more
Otmoor House has been beautifully renovated. It’s in an enviable position overlooking nothing but fields and wetlands. If you are looking for a retreat that is peaceful, well equipped and a touch of country elegance then this is the place for you. It’s equipped with everything you could wish for and close to Oxford and its surrounding attractions plus John and Jo are perfect hosts.
I stayed at Lake Cottage to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday. The property was spotless and so well equipped. We all commented multiple times on how the owners had gone above and beyond to fill the cupboard with everything you could need for a short break. The building itself is stunning and in a picturesque location. Not to mention the friendly pig on site who was a family favourite. I would highly recommend staying at Lake Cottage. We will be looking at booking our next staycation there shortly.
I booked this stay for a birthday, it was absolutely fantastic. Clean, comfy, beautiful location. The extra touches really made the stay. For example the pastries each morning. The homemade cake on our entry. Fresh juice and items in fridge for us. The location was brilliant. Animals to see all around. Nice little walks. The house itself was spotless!!! Rooms stunning we really could not of asked for more and will definitely be booking again. Can’t thank the hosts enough!!
This property is well equipped, it's peaceful, it's comfortable, Lisa, the owner is very friendly and helpful, it's very well located, it's fresh and, and, and... You have a bus that leaves every hour to and from Oxford (a 40 minute ride) or if you prefer the train, there's a station within a 10 minute walk and this takes only 9 minutes to the centre of Oxford, although these are every 2 hours and you need to buy your ticket online. The Cotswolds are a short drive away and there are many interesting places even closer. Country walks are outside the door. I could go on but let's just say th...more
Both properties were stunning, clean and comfortable. Perfect for our annual get the friends from across the country together. The sheep made great neighbours. We did a treasure trail at Chipping Campden. Had a fabulous Sunday lunch at The Seagrave Arms. Visited the Broadway Tower. Used our Bolthole Retreats discount code to visit the stunning Sudeley Castle. We would all highly recommend The Dutchy.
Eight women celebrating a 60th birthday, we could not have found a better place to stay. The house is impeccably decorated and kitted out with quality items. A real home from home.. The Butchers Arms pub is 1.5 mile (25 min walk). Public Footpaths run alongside the house making it a fantastic place to walk from. Stunning autumnal views from every window made it even more beautiful. Painswick is walkable. Although the first basket of logs is said to be provided you may wish to take more with you as there were only 3 and no kindling or lighters although it didn't affect us as it was too warm to...more
Fabulous property, conveniently situated close to the action but not affected by town noise. Very good eateries close by and lots of very different walks.
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful, delightful and comfortable cottage. We loved it. Thank you for helping us sort out the TV!! Your fresh milk and gelato were first class. Such a treat to have it on tap so to speak!! The location is fabulous for exploring the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean and so many gorgeous pubs/restaurants too. We loved sitting up in bed with the window open with a view at night time of the lights along the Severn and the Bridge. Very atmospheric. Lovely to hear the owls and the cows. You've lovingly created a real gem.
5 star in every category says it all.Probably one of best properties we have visited. One little suggestion would be a plastic bowl for the very large kitchen sink !! Thank you so much for allowing to use your wonderful property. We hope to visit again in the new year.Pam & Gerrie Ridley
We stayed at the Coach House for a week this summer and enjoyed it very much. The personal reception by Peter was welcoming. The space itself is beautiful. The coach house has clearly been lovingly restored and has a warm feel to it with its cozy stove, comfy beds, great shower and upscale Cornishware plates and mugs that adorn the great kitchen area!
Me and my partner had a lovely weekend break at Bertha. Such an amazing location, surrounded by the countryside. The stars are incredible here, which we gazed at while roasting marshmallows by the fire pit. They provided great recommendations if you are unfamiliar with the area, from great walks in puzzle wood to a delicious meal in the Saracens Head Inn. I would highly recommend staying here and would love to return. The cabin is perfect, with everything you need and a lovely comfy bed. A great escape to the countryside!
We had a nice vacation. Loved having the outdoor patio - it was so hot when we were there that we spent evenings outside instead of inside. The beds were comfortable and just what we needed. The linens were nice and fresh. Because it didn't have A/C, we sweltered at night.......the fans didn't do much good because they were so small. In cooler weather, I bet the place is ideal. The location was great - we were glad to have stayed in Stow and found walking paths, takeaway food, and places to eat.
We found the property to be very good for our short break in Bath . It was Clean and the Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were comfortable. We would stay here again
We had a lovely stay at Orchard Cottage. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, being very well equipped. It was in a great location with lots of attractions nearby and easy to get to. Would certainly book again.
A close group of 6 friends had a fantastic stay in the Coach House. It really is home from home. The kitchen diner is great. A massive dining table was perfect for a large group to gather around. The kitchen is very well resourced with anything you can think of. We cooked three meals no problem. The bedrooms are cosy but each have a lovely en-suite with the added bonus of a bathroom downstairs. Karen our host was excellent. Quick to respond to anything and very helpful and accommodating. Thanks Karen. A fantastic stay.
We used this as a cottage for me and my bridesmaids to get ready in the morning of my wedding. Perfect communal space and everything was furnished beautifully.
We had an amazing stay - the cottage was beautiful and so well equipped everything we’d need. The beds were so comfortable and every room was stunningly designed. It’s better than the pictures in real life. Located on the grounds of a lovely estate with nice walks just around the corner it made for the perfect stay. Thank you so much!!!
Buff lodge is an amazing little house perfect for our family of 4. Super clean and in a lovely villiage perfect for exploring the Cotswold's. Little starter.kit of tea and coffee lovely touch too. Will definitely come back next time we visit the Cotswolds.
Barebones Farm is spacious and well equipped. The beds are comfortable and all showers are powerful and hot. The location is excellent for walking, we did not need to use our cars at all other than to drive to Cheltenham Park Run. We were lucky with the weather but there is a well stocked games cupboard and dvd collection in case of rainy days. We would definitely consider going again.
One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in (we have stayed in over 25) recommended in every way, easy walk to Winchcombe by footpath or road in 15 minutes
A lovely stay in a beautiful location. David was so welcoming and friendly. He has done an absolutely fabulous job of the Shepherds Hut and the hot tub was just divine. Would love to return in the summer because I can imagine the exclusive decking being a right little sun trap. The bed was so comfy and the duvet was cosy and kept us warm. Stayed in many Shepherds Huts before and this is by far one of the most luxurious ones.
Fantastic time at an amazing property and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Be prepared for narrow lanes. Just one thing we would have liked was an instruction manual for the Aga. Great food at the local pub 'The Woolpack in the village too.
We had a lovely few days at Pineapple Spa Cottage. The cottage is really comfortable and thoughtfully decorated,
This was our second visit to Bellhouse. We have family in Nailsworth that we visit most years, so the location is very convenient for us. Having the trail right outside the house that leads to Woodchester Mansion is a big bonus, although we couldn't use it this time in October because of the mud. The house is very spacious and the extra bathrooms are a really nice feature that make the stay that much more comfortable. The decor of the house is very fitting to the age of the property and make it feel welcoming. It was well stocked and the box of cookies and bottle of wine upon arrival were a ni...more
Great location for us , peaceful and gorgeous views. Local pubs all great food and Dyrham Park on your doorstep. Accomodation perfect, clean and had evetything you needed nice touch was some fresh milk on arrival for a lovely cuppa after the journey, and a sizable TV(someplaces we have stayed the has been TV tiny) one small item missing would have been nice to have a couple of chairs outside however we didn't ask so more than likely we couldn't find them. Missing the lovely horses, Rupert and the very friendly dogs and cats. Would highly reccomend and stay again.
Very spacious and clean property, beds very comfy with soft pillows, location great for centre, 10min walk down the side of canal , house keeper sammii very helpful and on hand if required, dining area in kitchen could do with a tv on wall, the only cons I would say is window cleaner required and garden would look so much better with plants/climbers around fencing and few on patio , garden is huge and looks bit bare but it’s a great property with all mod cons including x box in front room which my son tommy loved, cake and milk on arrival a nice touch we would stay again, lee, wendy & tommy
What a stunning house, the interior design is of a very hide standard with huge attention to detail and it felt more like a private home than a rental. Bedrooms are all good, beds so comfortable and bedding of a high quality. Kitchen is well stocked and we enjoyed cooking here. Only criticism we had was how much better it would be placing mirrors near plug points in bedrooms and having a few more full length mirrors too. One of the best houses we have rented in the UK.
We had a lovely stay. The cottage was immaculate and very well maintained. Everything you would ever need was provided. We would definitely recommend staying at Old Fox Cottage.
We had a very special weekend here celebrating my 50th birthday. The house and grounds are stunning - even better than the photos! Only thing that was slightly disappointing was the lack of mugs and quality of cookware & utensils. We raised this with the booking agent and they’ve assured us it will be looked at. Don’t hesitate to book though! It’s almost perfect
A very stylishly decorated and cosy, quiet retreat within a pretty village, a very short distance from the Oxford park and ride scheme at Thornhill. A treat to stay here. The owner provided some very helpful sightseeing tips, and left some thoughtful treats for us, including some Halloween chocolates on the doorstep for our teenagers on 31st Oct. The only downside was the heavy duty bolt on the OUTSIDE of the main bedroom door - not great for anyone of a claustrophobic disposition! Thanks again for a great stay.
This is a lovely cottage in a very pretty village and we had an enjoyable stay. However, the kitchen was very poorly equipped with only 6 of everything which means that the dishwasher was contantly on. There was no casserole dish provided, and other ovenware was very limited. Also there was not enough seating for 6 people to sit together in either living room.
This house is perfect in every way. There is lots of space and the furniture is beautiful and stylish. The kitchen has all the equipment you need and the crockery and cutlery is of a high standard. It has exceptionally comfortable beds and quality bed linen with lovely blinds for a good nights sleep and a marvellous shower to enjoy in the morning. It’s a beautiful location, with parking and very quiet. The cottage is spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Just wonderful!
Bill's cottage was a lovely property, v well equipped and ideal for our short family get-away (parents, daughter, grandchild and dog) and in a v quiet location. The owner was v friendly and helpful and provided some introductory food items such as bread, milk, eggs from the farm and a delicious home-made sponge cake. She even provided a packet of polos for us to give to the horse in the adjacent field who would come for his treat over the fence in the early evening. There were lots of interesting places to visit nearby plus plenty of pubs for meals in the area. It made a v nice venue for a fam...more
Beautifully furnished and finished cottage with everything you need. Lots of space for a big group. Great communication with owners via email and phone, and even on hand to help when needed during stay. Super clean and cosy feel inside, hot tub and outside space was lovely too. Easy location to find and park. Nearyby to shops and other towns. Thank you for a lovely stay!
We had a great stay at The Fold, and used it as a base for a week away exploring the Cotswolds. The location is ideal, with a vast range of great walks, pubs and restaurants within a 10-15 minute drive. Accommodation is in good condition, in lovely grounds, and it was great that it was pet friendly Thanks for having us!
What a treat, the pictures do it no justice. The house has everything you need and lovely a warm with two fabulous fireplaces for cold days.
Well equipped and very comfortable shepherd’s hut with a lot of attention to detail (the choice of bathroom and kitchen fittings and also small things like matching oven glove and tea towel) Set in a beautiful location with lovely views and lots of wildlife. Secluded location but easy to get to and we’ll placed for exploring the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
This was my second visit back to Tom's Barn. Having previously visited earlier this year with a group of friends I booked to return here with family to introduce them to the beautiful Cotswolds and I knew that Tom's Barn ticked all the boxes for the range in needs for our family from my 6 month old niece, disabled mother to my elderly grandma. The layout of Tom's barn and the accessibility was perfect. The barn is really well equipped and we had everything we needed to enjoy dining in together. The barn and farm which it is located on is beautiful and a great location to access some of the l...more
We stayed at the Weir house for a ladies cycling weekend in September, the house was beautifully decorated and equipped. Couldn’t fault the space or location
To say that some guests were rebooking for 2025 whilst travelling home to Cambridgeshire says it all.
Great place, great location and lovely hideaway. Only negative personally didn't find sofa or bed very comfy.
we were a party of 12 made up of siblings and partners celebrating a big birthday and stayed at Foxholme for 3 nights during the autumn half term. Our stay was made all the better given the house, its setting and the lovely little touches that Bolthole had gone to in order to welcome us. The beds were comfy and more importantly the bed linen was very nice (apart from no matress topper on the bed my wife and I had, but not for anyone else I hasten to add, so clearly an oversight I feel) The kitchen is great and the centre of any house and the lounges are certainly plentiful, but somewhat poin...more
Quiet, beautiful views. Cleverly designed space. Owner very helpful, friendly and easily accessible if needed
13 of us stayed at Milestone to celebrate various 50th birthdays. The comms from Cherie in the lead up to the stay were brilliant, she was very accommodating and a joy to deal with. The house is well equipped and lends itself to a very social stay. Condition marked down as we had some issues with the showers.
My family and I stayed at Colebrook Cottage for a weekend for my father’s 80th birthday. The cottage itself is beautiful and very comfortable. Check in/check out was very easy and it had all the amenities we needed. Even though there were 8 of us we never felt cramped. The location is fabulous and we took lots of walks. My husband and our 16 year old son loved the games room too, a great added touch. I would definitely recommended this cottage to anyone thinking of booking a holiday in the Cotswolds and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house.
Really enjoyed our stay in this cosy super modern cottage. Kids had fun too especially when using the outdoor area. Great location for those who wish to visit the Cotswold.
My husband and I stayed at Kington Grange over our wedding weekend and it was perfect! The Barn and loft are stunning and ideal for wedding morning photos. Not only is the place beautiful but Susan and Phil are so lovely and the best hosts. They were so helpful in the build up to the wedding. We couldn't recommend Kington Grange more. Thank you Susan and Phil - you helped make our wedding weekend perfect!
I stayed in Wynyard Mill with 4 friends in October 2024 - the accomodation was easy to find and access was simple with the key box. The mill was clean and a quirky layout - we loved the kitchen / dining area which was well equipped for cooking. Beds were all very comfy with warm duvets and there were logs / matches provided for lighting the fire in the living room which made it really cosy. Absolutely beautiful surrounds and only a short walk to Malmsbury. Thank you for a fantastic stay!
Excellent location cottage was quite comfortable, the stairs were not that easy, perhaps a photo of them along with the other pics would be a help. The garden was nice we just didn't have the weather .We did find the restaurants in Bourton a big let down very poor, and expensive. But on the whole we enjoyed our stay.
After an exhausting year we were ready for a break. The Drying House was a wonderful surprise. Very clean and comfortable with the joys of 2 bathrooms. The bed was incredible and we slept like the proverbial logs. Just a couple of minutes from the lovely Ledbury town centre but completely quiet and hidden away. The kitchen was very well equipped and the first place we have ever stayed in where the kitchen knives were actually usable. There are lots of leaflets available to browse when planning days out, which was very helpful and we did the walk to Frith Wood walk which we would definite...more
Lovely stay, beautiful place, spacious, clean, ample parking and great location. Hosts were very welcoming and left some useful tips on where to eat locally.
Lovely stay at this thatched Cotswold cottage on the Mill View Estate. Plenty of room for a family of four. Nice time paddle boarding and kayaking. Staff on the site were very friendly. Good communication from owners prior to stay. Some of the decor is a bit dated.
This is our second visit and we had a wonderful time again. Thank you Adele for looking after us and we hope to come again
We had a very quiet relaxing stay. Just what we needed. Lots of beautiful walks from the door. Local cafe and shop is excellent. Beds very spacious and comfortable. Thank you
Generally we had a great experience. The house is spacious and well furnished. We stayed in the very large master bedroom which had quite a few stains on the carpet. These might well be dealt with by a good professional shampoo. We used most of the amenities including the BB Que and even though it ws summer, we had need of the fireplace in the lounge which was cosy and enjoyable. The people in the Matara house adjoining the property were most helpful.
Lovely cottage in a great location, only downside was the oven was not very clean at all when we arrived which meant we could not fully use it.
Thank you Michelle for your hospitality. This is a very special apartment, beautifully presented and finished and very close to the centre of Bibury. We enjoyed our brief stay and hope to return! Definitely to be recommended.
We first stayed at Rose Cottage over 32 years ago and it is still a brilliant cottage to stay in! The location is excellent being only a short distance to the local community shop and maybe 100 metres from The Fleece.
My wife and I rented the Tachbrook in Charlbury for 15 nights in October, and we LOVED it! The home is full of character while possessing every modern convenience: excellent hob, two showers with ample hot water, very good cable TV package, and acceptable WIFI, comfortable bed, and very quiet (yes, you can hear the church bells ring out the time on every hour, even at night). Location is great; Charlbury is close to most areas in the Cotswolds. While it was a quiet location, reservations for supper are required (as the excellent pubs get full very fast). Getting out of the driveway was a bit n...more
We loved our stay in Trinity Cottage. The accommodation was centrally located to everything. Our host answered any questions quickly. Thanks for a great stay!
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful house. Fifteen of us (aged 13 to 86) were able to get together for a week and we all loved the venue - a real home from home. We were made to feel very welcome by the lovely owners Susan and Phil who were really friendly and helpful. Playing tennis and swimming in the lake were enjoyed by a number of us and heating up in the hot tub afterwards was especially welcomed. There were plenty of places to sit and enjoy quiet time as well as having the opportunity to eat together or play games in either the orangery or in the dining room. Lovely views f...more
We had a lovely time staying in this cottage. It was a great location to visit Stroud and the surrounding area!
Amazing setting - loads of space in this fabulous house for a 3 generation family break for my wife’s 80th birthday celebrations. Small points - Would have appreciated a welcome note, cake or milk as we have had in some properties to make it feel a bit more personal and welcoming. Instructions for the appliances, particularly the built in oven would have been helpful.
Overall a great stay. A good spot for day trips and walks. A slight issue with some cluster flies but Alison was very responsive in offering a solution. We would recommend and stay here again.
Swallows Rest was a lovely house in a beautiful location. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds and the peace and quiet was wonderful. Would definitely recommend a stay here as it’s easy to get to places of interest and there are some great walks on the doorstep.
Wonderfully located in Bretforton, near the fantastic National Trust-owned Fleece Inn, it is well located for visiting Stow on the Wold and the other surrounding villages. Well provisioned, with comfortable sofas and beds, WiFi and TV with board games and books to hand, we would thoroughly recommend it. We would have liked it a little warmer, as the heating in the living room fell somewhat short of providing the comfort we were hoping for. An additional heater or radiator would have helped during the sudden cold snap that we experienced, and we hope the owners take this suggestion on board....more
We were a party of 8 adults and the house accommodated us very well. Location is excellent - you can walk to Winchcombe centre and to Sudley Castle. Diane, the owner, was very welcoming. The only minor observation was that the dining table chairs had lost their padding which made them uncomfortable to sit on We took up Diane's suggestion of a meal at The Corner Cupboard Inn in the village which we all enjoyed.. We would highly recommend Kingfisher Cottage
We felt immediately at home at Browns Cottage, which was immaculately clean, extremely well stocked with every possible thing that we could have needed supplied. Beds were very comfortable with beautiful linen. Parking was a challenge but we did not move our cars over our two day stay, as we did a lovely walk from the cottage door - the Charlbury circular, via Cornbury Park and the pub at Finstock (about 5 miles, easy). The Bull pub is a few yards away and we enjoyed a tasty meal on one night.
Fiona greeted us and shared her beautiful home with us. It is super well equipped with everything we could possibly need. A beautiful roaring fire in the sitting room was a perfect place to relax. The location is perfect…right on the high street with shops and pubs within easy reach. We hope to definitely return!
We booked The Loft in conjunction with Kington Grange itself. This was an amazing space to use for communal activities and meals. It was really comfortable, bright and had some lovely features.
There were three generations staying and everyone loved it! Would definitely stay here again! Fantastic location and lovely, quality finish to everything.
The property is very authentic and atmospheric. It has some low door jams and maybe could benefit from some warning strips. Additionally, in one of the bedrooms you can hear the local wildlife, so might be worth bringing some ear plugs. Location is very nice and quiet in the countryside and it has a big garden which is good for children.
There’s space for three cars, comfortable beds, a well-equipped large kitchen perfect for cooking together, and a spacious sitting/dining room for cosy evenings around the fire. Outside, the garden has lovely views of the surrounding countryside during daylight, plus stargazing from the patio on a clear night. “The Plough Inn” in Finstock is a welcoming local pub where we enjoyed pre-lunch drinks around the log fire. The location is excellent, with country walks from the front door; wellies/walking boots are recommended after rain!
Absolutely brilliant, wonderful party place with all guests hoping to return together next year. Small complaint, the snooker table had a significant rip which did mean it was not possible to have a proper game. Otherwise it was perfect.
Whippet Cottage was both well equipped, particularly liked Hi Fi in lounge. Kitchen facilities excellent for whatever cooking wish to do. House also very comfortable, Conservatory worthy of note as lovely sun trap even in autumn with very comfy sofas. House maintained to high standard, with everything clean and in good condition. House located in lovely private courtyard of similar properties, with lovely community garden. Also less than 10 mins walk from Fleece Inn a lovely pub cannot recommend highly enough. All made for a very relaxing weekend away . Will certainly be returning.
Excellent stay! Accommodation was perfect, with all amenities necessary. We especially enjoyed the fire in the evenings. Stephen was really helpful and answered any questions straight away. Location great. We’re a Family of 4 & a dog and had a lovely stay.
The house was lovely and spacious with excellent rooms and bathrooms. Excellent decor. Really good quality bedlinen and towels etc. Plenty of cupboard space. Well equipped kitchen. Good to have vehicle charger. Nice wood fires but more logs would have been helpful. Some suggestions: handrail or rope bannister for safety on stairs; lovely wood flooring but rugs rather slippery; good to have 2 fridges but freezers badly needed defrosting. Claire very helpful with sorting out heating which was not properly set when we arrived. We appreciated being able to arrive early. A clearer sign to identify...more
The Roost is a beautifully decorated cottage situated in a fantastic village. The cottage has everything we needed for a very comfortable stay, plus there is a great pub just down the road, a lovely little shop and cafe just up the hill and a wonderful playground to entertain the children. Highly recommend!
Sundown Lodge is a gorgeous location in the heart of the Cotswolds. The cottage has been decorated to a very high standard and you could not ask for anything more for a short stay. The bed is super comfortable and the blackout blinds were greatly appreciated! Hot water and lovely fluffy towels made showering a joy too. We were not able to take advantage of the views from the fields as the weather was slightly misty but am sure they're beautiful. Only one small slightly negative comment would be that the kitchen table and chairs were not suitable for the kitchen and should have been left outs...more
We couldn't have found a more suitable cottage for our needs than Locke's cottage. It is firstly full of charm and is typically a chocolate box property , quirky and characterful , mainly due to it's age . If you are wanting a quiet bolthole , away from the stresses of modern life , then Preston on Stour is perfect , and the villagers that we met were very friendly and helpful. It is also an excellent base for discovering the whole region of Stratford on Avon and the Cotswolds . The only difficulty that we faced , was a delay on getting the security number for the key safe , which meant that ...more
Excellent location for discovering the Cotswolds. Lovely and quiet with a fabulous country pub on the doorstep.
We very much enjoyed our stay, location is stunning with access to walks along the Cotswold Way. The accommodation is really lovely, comfortable, clean superbly laid out with great attention to detail. Our stay was to attend Badminton Horse Trials which was very close by and our evening relaxing back at the beautiful Barn were very appreciated after long days walking. We enjoyed the company of the resident dogs and cats and Kate was a fantastic host. I would highly recommend Middle Barn and the girls and I will definitely be back again.
Great location, very quiet. Kitchen well appointed. Appreciated the on site parking also. Top room is very lovely, which great views over Malmesbury. I would suggest caution if you have mobility issues, as there are steep stairs, and being an old house, the bathrooms are a little awkward.
As a party of 8, we stayed for 3 nights for a family wedding a mile away so this house was in a good location for us. The house is spacious, the beds are comfortable with very good bed linen. The walled garden is lovely and peaceful and was a great place for us to enjoy breakfast. We were grateful to receive a quick response from the owner to a problem over the front door lock. Although the house is relatively cool due to the thick walls, we did miss not being allowed to open some of the windows (there are electric fans provided in each of the 1st floor bedrooms). In the family bathroom, the d...more
Great stay with the family and grandparents. Plenty space for everyone and a very convenient location for local towns.
Everything was fine, should probably have extended our stay to take advantage of the facilities on site and location. Very enjoyable
Hawthorn Cottage is a spacious house well equipped for a very comfortable stay. It was quiet and had good access to the areas we were visiting. Great communication when we needed it. I would highly recommend this property.
2 families (4 adults and 2 children) stayed together at Fairview Cottage. The cottage is beautiful and the welcome pack was superb and very much appreciated. There is a community shop next door and a friendly pub only a couple of minutes walk away. The cottage was very well positioned for exploring the area, with Morton in Marsh, Stow and Daylesford all nearby and within 20 minutes drive to Broadway or Burford. Thank you so much, we will definitely be returning.
Lovely property, clean, comfortable, and everything you could want. Great garden for relaxing in. Would stay again
Firstly, what a beautiful property. Upon driving up to this property you are met with the huge gates and grand building. The car park is secure and large enough to turn around big vehicles. Inside the rooms were very clean with large high beds. Upstairs the living space is clean and tidy. The views out of every window is different but still as beautiful wherever you look. We enjoyed looking out of the kitchen window and watching the sheep graze on the hill. The garden is large and secure with a bridge and a stream. We enjoyed walking down the private track each morning with the dog which lea...more
Lovely spacious top notch cottage out in the countryside, very peaceful and quiet. Plenty of parking, living area way bigger than it looks in the photos and everything you might need is available. Was delighted with the heavy curtains in the bedroom ensuring we weren’t awoken by the sun at the crack of dawn. Beautiful property, just a shame we were out for most of our stay and didn’t enjoy it as much as we would’ve liked to.
Great interiors and lovely views from the large garden. Lots of space for our family gathering. Beds a bit soft but otherwise thoroughly enjoyed our short stay
Stone Cottage in Stanton is a perfect Cotswolds holiday home basically in any regard - that's really all there is to say! But if I had to point out anything that could be even further improved: It would be nice having some spare towels (for the kitchen as well as for the bathroom), toilet paper and cosmetic tissues.
Excellent location, comfortable, ideally situated to explore Burford and surrounding areas. Easy to access and use all amenities
We had a very nice stay at Barn End, a family get together. All facilities were good, access clear and straightforward. Everything we needed was provided and plentiful, and everything worked and it was very clean. We would have appreciated a later check out but it got us up and about.
Loved the location with a pub with fantastic food 300 metres away and the charm of the cottage. Would recommend it.
My siblings and I had a lovely weekend in Rose Cottage on our annual get together. It's super clean and has some of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. The cottage is very tastefully furnished and well appointed with everything you need. The log burner (and basket of logs -thanks) made it all very cosy too. There is ample parking below the cottage or on the main road. Highlights nearby were the Saturday Market in Stroud (foodie heaven) and food at the nearby Old Fleece pub was exceptionally good. The church that is adjacent to the cottage is well worth a visit too. Great spot and we a...more
A beautiful house - very clean and well appointed. The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed for a self catering stay. The lounge is comfortable and having the additional 'snug' room was a bonus. The beds were super comfortable and it was lovely to hear the owl hooting in the garden as we drifted off to sleep. The house is beautifully situated on a quiet lane with little noise heard from the road beyond that. A short 2 minute walk away is a very friendly pub serving great food - The Carpenter's Arms - and a children's playground. Just a little farther to walk to the lo...more
Armada Cottage was absolutely gorgeous. An ancient building on the main street of a charming Cotswolds village that's been renovated with care and attention to every single perfect detail. The owners were responsive and kind. Everything we needed was provided. The street outside can be a bit busy and the doorways are low for the tall 21st century traveller but none of this takes away from this extraordinary place and experience. Highly recommend.
Woodside Cottage was perfect for our family to stay and attend a wedding close by. Well equipped kitchen and very comfortable for a 4 generation family 1 yr to early 70’s. Very homely feel and location was perfect we hope we get the opportunity to return and explore the area in the future. Lovely welcome pack on arrival thank you.
A lovely, peaceful stay, would definitely come back. The view from the garden/hot tub is beautiful. Lots of thoughtful extras such as flip flops and robes for the hot tub, coffee pods and so on. Great location for exploring the Cotswolds, Stratford etc.
Lovely house in a beautiful location. All very clean and tidy with comfortable beds and a nice layout of the house.
We booked very last minute so there was only 2 nights available for our dates but we wanted secluded, peace and quite, pretty scenery, a little bit of luxury and somewhere nice to walk. The Old Pump house gave us all of this. The drive up to the property through the forest was idyllic. The rooms were huge, all the beds and sofa were comfortable. The kitchen was large and had every utensil you could require. We had a long drive and managed to get in slightly earlier and the house keeper was quick in responding and very friendly. The biscuits on arrival were a nice touch. If I had to...more
Very comfortable cottage, beautifully decorated, and great location for getting to Oxford and London via train.
I recently needed to book a stay for myself and my children and in my haste failed to recognise that there are two different Woodmancote villages, not all that far apart. Where I thought I was selecting a property nearer to Tewkesbury, I accidentally booked Woodmancote Manor Cottage near to Cirenceter. What an absolutely brilliant mistake! The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. The owner of the cottage conveniently lives next door and was very gracious and attentive with welcoming messages and information prior to arrival, and then during the stay they were quietly there ...more
We had a lovely stay at Archers celebrating my husband's 60th birthday. Winchcombe is delightful with lovely shops, lots of local walks and the free entry to Sudeley Castle was a great day out. The cottage is well equipment although the fridge is small for 8 guests and some larger serving bowls would have been useful. The dining table is also on the small side for 8 with the table legs getting in the way of a comfortable seating arrangement. It was a shame that the ironing table, clothes drier and high chair were stored in the inglenook in the dining room as it would have been nice to have ...more
We all had a lovely stay at Dongthrush. The house is wonderful and very well equipped so you can actually cook rather than have to eat out all the time. Great location close to the Spa and Restaurant. Only advice is, if you want to play tennis arrive early to grab a slot, all gone by 5pm on first day and can only check in at 4pm!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kimkeri. It was especially nice that we could park the car behind house and then spend most of our time walking to everything. Our granddaughter was thrilled to have a playground so close. The place was very comfortable and well equipped.
The house was lovely and very clean. It had everything we needed but headroom a bit low in places. For those of you with pacemakers (like me) it has an induction hob so beware! It needs rubber mats for the ensuite and bathroom. Overall very comfortable.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hyde Tyning Cottage. It was very well appointed, very clean and very comfortable. The location was great - tucked away at the end of a lane with lovely countryside views. We would definitely stay there again.
The cottage was very well appointed and had everything we needed for a lovely stay. I'd definitely recommend Maisey Cottage.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Little Elms. It's such a beautiful and comfortable apartment Catherine would have liked some blinds on the kitchen windows for privacy but otherwise everything was first class
The house was gorgeous, great decoration and great facilities. Having a big dining room was brilliant as well as the large lounge. It definitely needs two fridges given the amount of people it can accommodate - and I would trade this off for one dishwasher if something had to go. There was not enough room for food/drinks etc in one fridge Hot tub is a great facility and beautiful garden and views The location was great but I feel we were misled in regard to the distance described in the details on line, from Winchcombe town and all the facilities. Thank you, we had a lovely time
Stayed here for 2 nights as 5 couples because we had a wedding in the area to go to. The house was plenty big enough for the 10 of us. We were made to feel very welcome with a great welcome pack of essentials. The cottage is very homely and the beds are super comfortable. Shame we weren’t staying longer to spend more time exploring.
Cottage was very well prepared for our stay and well equipped. Having dedicated parking was a real bonus as on-street parking in Bourton is limited. The location is great - just a few minutes walk to the river and main street but far enough away for peace and quiet. All the attractions are within walking distance as our pubs, cafe's, restaurants, shops and grocery stores including an excellent Coop. Would definitely stay again. Bourton is very well located for visiting many of the nearby villages and towns.
What a delightful place to spend my 60th Birthday- the cottage was everything we needed and the village a delight. Visits to the cafe and pub a must. We hope to return.
I stayed at Lakeside house with my bridal party the night before and the night of our wedding. The cottage was stunning and immaculate. There was tea, coffee and sugar left for us and the wifi password clearly labelled. The owner Jacqueline was really helpful and allowed us an early check in. She came to wave me off on my wedding morning too. A stunning, big house in a fantastic location.
We were celbrating our 50th wedding anniversay, with a total of 14 adults, 4 children and 2 small dogs. The family is scattered between Aberdeenshire, Singapore and the South of England. Barn Lodge was an ideal place for us all, the 2 large lounges meant we oldies could have a quiet area, while the children children could play noisily. Two dishwashers made clearing up easy and we made use of a recommended chef one evening (El Toro) and the Globe one lunchtime. Both were excellent. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed exploring locally.Barn Lodge was a perfect venue for us.
Close to Sudely Castle for those interested in history, close to some fantastic walking paths. Great little village.
Lovely property, all amenities, warm and comfortable. Stunning walks around the lakes and short distance from the lovely town of Cirencester.
5 stars. A wonderful property in a great location. Perfect for exploring Cheltenham and beyond. Highly recommended.
We had a super stay, it was a wonderful cottage close by to lots of beautiful towns. Would definitely come back to stay - the cottage was incredibly clean, and we appreciated the welcome hamper of recommendations in the area.
Beautiful cottage wonderfully decorated in a lovely location. However the kitchen is a nightmare to navigate as everything is hidden away, the tiny fridge was hidden under the stairs down a step not the easiest thing to access. Our biggest issue was the heating which is controlled externally the cottage was freezing when we arrived as no heating was on despite it being November then the electric went, then came back in we had to continually communicate with the house keeper all week to keep turning the heating on as the house was not warm which was a pain and interrupted our whole stay. Then ...more
A beautiful cottage… warm, comfortable and cosy, with a lovely garden and patio area, great for use during warmer weather I would imagine. Bed in the master bedroom very comfortable. Children’s play area only minutes away ( great if you have grandchildren visiting) Good location… Blockley, Moreton -in Marsh and Chipping Campden within easy reach. Reviews from others who stayed in September, mentioned facts that the toilet seat in the bathroom needed tightening and problems with the light in the shower… this is still the case. As we were only there for 3 nights, we felt we could cope with ...more
Very comfortable and good facilities and equipment. Able to enter early and full enjoyed the stay Will return in the future
Good quality accommodation apart from ceiling height in bedrooms. Felt layout could have been improved to minimise “impact” of angled ceiling under the eaves.
The house is in an excellent location for Winchcombe, Sudeley Castle & accessing the Cotswold Way. The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of space for 6 plus 2 dogs. A small improvement would be coat hooks/stand and a shoe rack, as due to the weather, we had nowhere to put coats & boots!
The most striking impression of Mercia House is that it has two very different characters. At the front, it is a old historic building, perfectly in place with the "olde- worlde" main street of Winchcombe. At the back it is modernised, and with its’ sweeping views across the valley it could be in the middle of the countryside. Within easy walking distance are pubs, a Morrisons convenience store and a mid-sized Coop, so we never needed to drive for shopping. There are lots of pleasant country walks directly from the house as well, so it is a good base if you dont want to do much driving. ...more
We stayed for 3 nights at Ledge View, which is in a wonderful location near to Chipping Campden, Broadway and other beautiful Cotswold villages. The Nissen Hut was unique and very well appointed, decorated, clean and tidy. It shares the grounds with a much larger hut, which was unoccupied at the time we stayed, but which would be great for a large group of people. Ledge View was the perfect accommodation for 4 adults (beds for 6) and a lively Cocker Spaniel, who loved the outdoor space and the nearby National Trust land at Dover's Hill. It was especially beneficial having the downstairs bed...more
The bolt hole site sells the dream with ‘optimised’ pictures of the cottage and majors on the aesthetics that you’ll find. And in the main, that’s all you need if the shower is good and the bed is comfy with clean linen. Which both were. However for the money I forked out for 3 nights. I found missing kitchen implements, mixed messaging in terms of eg a washing up kit (no sponge or scourers), a broken window. Poor maintenance. A junk cupboard. Sofas that were neither cottagey or comfy (corporate style sofas). But worst of all the cottage really smelt damp and there was visible black mould ...more
The cottage and its situation are delightful. There was a welcome hamper to greet me with a variety of goodies. The bedroom was lovely and the bed extremely comfortable. Unfortunately I couldn’t use the bath as the pressure in the tap was so low it was just a trickle. The owner is aware of this, but it was a bit disappointing. However, the shower was perfect. The kitchen could do with some scales (luckily I brought my own), decent knives (especially a small, sharp peeling knife) and a bread bin! Whilst I appreciate the nature of a cottage is dark and cosy, it was very difficult to find a spot ...more
The cottage is beautiful , well equipped and well decorated. It is a big property so expect more ensuite bathroom with the room. Found some webs and tiny spiders in the rooms. Tried to book Blenheim Palace tickets with the discount code provided which did not work. Customer service not helpful to sort out despite sending email and phone call. Overall we have enjoyed staying at the Parsonage. Kishor
This is a lovely terraced cottage in a surprisingly secluded little haven just off the High Street. Its beautiful courtyard garden is private and deceptively generous in size. I struggled with the Amazon Echo, as Alexa only spoke French, but we sorted it eventually! Although the Welcome Pack doesn’t mention it, there is a dedicated car parking space with a car parking pass for a small / medium sized car which is very desirable in Broadway! All in all we had a lovely weekend at Box Cottage and were not disappointed at all.
Lovely cottage. Well decorated and spaced out. Great location for exploring the wider area and walking. Castle has rich history and well worth a visit.
We’ve just had a lovely long weekend at Field Cottage. It’s a charming place in a pretty village with great walks in the doorstep.
Lovely part of the country for a short break. The property was exceptionally clean and we would not hesitate to return in the future
Location - bit difficult to find. Satnav confused. Wi Fi difficult to set up. Sim card fell out of router. Your contact didn't know how to fix it. We fixed it ourselves eventually. Maybe this needs a review. Small thing - washing up brush lacking. More drying up cloths needed. However, generally a very nice house with pub so near and beautiful countryside within easy reach. Would come again.0
There was everything that you could possible need for a short or long vacation in the cottage. It was ideally situated, very close to Winchcombe’s high street, so that in the evening you had a choice of pubs to walk to for dinner. It was very dog friendly, with superb walks within minutes of the door. We experienced biblical rain, but felt very happy and cosy to stay indoors. We extended our stay, and have also booked a return visit during the NewYear holiday. The communication with Bolthole was excellant.
A charming and beautifully secluded property perfect for unplugging from the rush and stress of daily life. The cottage was full of nooks and crannies to explore but big enough for the whole family to feel like everyone had their own space. The perfect place to enjoy the beautiful countryside but still close enough to beautiful villages and places of interest to explore
We were looking for a calm and relaxing holidays in the countryside with our kids and we had a lovely stay. We were sorrounded with sheeps and my kids loved to be outside everyday running around and exploring. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was big enough to cook almost every night and had dinner with the family. The only thing I would suggest is to have a microwave, it would be very useful, especially with kids when you need to warm up milk etc… I would highly recommend this place and even though it is a bit isolated it is ideal for someone who wants to have time to disconne...more
We had a lovely 2 night stay. It was my mums 90th birthday and we needed a place big enough to accommodate all 14 of the family. It also needed to be equidistant between Cornwall and Yorkshire. The attraction was Sudeley Castle which mum had never been to. The farmhouse was excellent. Very well appointed and comfortable and so much space. Could perhaps have done with a twin room on the first floor as I had to share a bed with mum - couldn't subject her to even more stairs to the attic. But apart from that a perfect stay. Sudeley Castle was a bit "sniffy" when we turned up on the Saturday wa...more
The cottage was as I expected and fine for 2 people. I had hoped there would have been some logs for the fire. So that was the disappointing aspect. But I would stay again
Fabulous place in a beautiful, quiet area and we had a fabulous stay. The inside was perfectly clean although windows need cleaned outside. An extra sofa in the living area would be good. Highly recommended.
Excellent accommodation and location. ideal for exploring cotswolds. Everything you need is provided… a real treat.
Positives: • Location: The cottage is in a lovely village with a great pub nearby, offering good food, local ale, and friendly service. • Kitchen: Well-equipped and decent, making it functional for meal preparation. Negatives: • General Condition: The cottage is clean but tired in places, with draughty windows and a need for a fresh coat of paint. • Comfort: The accommodation is not the most functional or comfortable, with issues like a small living room, squashed furniture, and an overall lack of comfort. • Bedrooms: • First-floor bedrooms have wardrobes filled with house...more
We really enjoyed our break in Jasmine cottage. It was very well equipped and comfortable. Our only complaints were finding it was difficult due to the roadworks nearby and the ensuite shower was unreliable but this did not spoil our stay. It was well positioned for exploring the area
A few touches to repair the curtains, add a reading light over the desk etc. would make a big difference and if possible some how a downstairs toilet (for older guests) BUT very comfortable and welcoming. A great place to stay and explore the Cotswolds
The accommodation itself was very nice, spacious and clean with everything you might need including milk and tea/coffee which was a nice touch. The hot tub had a couple of issues - headrest hanging off and two sets of jets did not seem to be working fully. For us though what really let it down was the lack of some nice garden furniture. The weather was lovely and whilst there was an old wooden picnic table it would have been lovely to have some nice up-to-date seating outside.
Cleaning was not particularly good with lots and lots of dead flies all over the property. The access corridor and staircase shared with adjoining apartment cleanliness was poor, the carpet clearly not having been cleaned prior to arrival. More significantly, the corridor and staircase which is the sole means of escape from the property and the adjacent apartment had no lighting whatsoever which constitutes a major safety failure and contravenes Part B of the Building Regulations. Some fittings, for example, the free standing lamp in the lounge requires fixing/replacement. Overall, the proper...more
We all very much enjoyed are stay at Suncroft cottage it had a lovely garden and views one thing I wanted to say was as you go down garden steps there was a slab over hanging and I almost fell over as loose requires attention thanks very much Justin
Wonderful little cluster of cottages superbly located for walks, the village and the castle. Perfect for me and my mum. The cottage had everything we needed and lovely welcome pack. Great, friendly service when I couldn't work out how to open the door! Definately will be back. Thankyou.
I stayed at Poplar House with my family this fall and this fabulous house sure fit the bill. 4 generous bedrooms, a well stocked kitchen and space to spread out or gather as needed. We looked out at fields as the house sits at the end of a village but were steps away from a pub and other amenities offered up by the small village. This was a great spot to take a deep breath
Great accommodation in a quiet rural location. Exactly as described. Note it was 2 houses so there are 2 boilers if you need to put the heating on. Comfortable beds and quality linen. Lots of room for 6 of us plus a baby and a dog. Hot tub was excellent in its own enclosed area. Plenty of seating indoors and outside.
We had a lovely stay at the cottage with our family of six from Germany. There are nice walks in the near and Suddely castle is close by. We really enjoyed the house and its location. The house has a beautiful kitchen, a comfortable living room and nice bedrooms. The only problem for us was that we had several times no hot showers. We called and Matt came asap from the castle only to tell us that everything was fine but the next morning again: cold water. Still we highly recommend the house and say thank you for our beautiful holidays.
Very good house for a family of 6-8 and good value overall. Like the large number of WC/showers/bath. Location excellent with easy reach of local shops and tourist attractions. Would go again! Minor issues for us were the beds being too soft. My 16 year old found them OK.
A great place for a relaxing stay and a dip in the hot tub. Fantastic location and gatehouse is very comfortable and cosy.
Lovely cottage with everything you would need in the heart of the Cotswolds. On the doorstep for dog walks and cosy pub
Our stay was short lived. We booked 3 nights and only stayed for one. There is absolutely no parking especially if you own a van. They say parking outside the house but the cars already parked there never move. We spent our first evening carrying items from a car park down the road and then having to move the van to a different car park due to time constraints. There is very little to do in the town. When we arrived there was no milk provided only a bottle of wine and fox biscuits. They charge extra money for a dog but don’t provide a dog bed or even a water bowl. We payed extra for cleaning ...more
Hi there The cottage was great in a fantastic location close to all the lovely shops Beds were very comfortable Cottage very clean One thing to point out was that there was an unpleasant amonia smell from the kitchen - I know that this cannot be helped if its got any damp etc but just wanted to make you aware that we could not really use the dining area due to this.
We booked the cottage for two nights in order to attend a wedding at the Castle. The property had everything that was required for a self catering stay. On arrival, some handy essentials such as teabags, coffee sachets, milk, biscuits and small pots of preserves were provided. The cottage was immaculately clean and chairs, sofa and beds were comfortable. The company renting the property ensured that comprehensive information was given via email prior to the arrival date and in two files placed at the property. A very professional setup.
Lovely weekend break at this property. Comfortable stay , lovely welcome pack provided. A few issues with the keys but sorted with the housekeeper.
Beautiful cottage in a very quiet hamlet (not in Burford itself). Comfortable beds and very peaceful.
Have stayed in many cottages in the Cotswolds and this is a gem. Great location. Very clean. Comfortable beds and good bedding. Everything we needed for a family and dog. Good kitchen equipment. Lovely peaceful sunny garden. Plenty of outside furniture. Couldn’t fault it. Lovely stay. Thankyou.
Our arrival was not great: nobody had been to clean the property since the last guests. The kitchen was dirty, there were dead flies on the window sills, and dirty towels on the bathroom floor. Bolthole unsuccessfully tried to find alternative accommodation, but then managed to get a person to come clean the house while we left for a few hours. The people I spoke to at Bolthole were very apologetic, and explained that there had been an issue with the usual cleaning agency. We were finally able to return to the house at 21:00 (after arriving just after 16:00). Our stay was otherwise...more
... lovely village, with a pop up pub & a coffee morning. It is proper dark too - no street lamps, wonderful. Loads of lovely villagers and the stone work is beautiful. Great place to keep dogs safe behind wooden fences. Beautiful layout and a lovely shower. Top tips 1. Organise a food delivery 2. Check out the distance and walk to Frogmill before you do it. 3. Watch Google maps for taking you in circles!
The CastleGate is set in the stunning grounds of Sudeley Castle, the location on the edge of the estate with a short walk into the castle is perfect. The Gatehouse is an atmospheric and unique building. However the Gatehouse building itself needs some work, the layout was clever and views wonderful but the furniture was tired and the whole apartment needed painting, the bathroom had no bath though there was plenty of space for one. The heating in the downstairs bedroom was not working properly, we followed the instructions left but could not get it to work without boosting it in the night. ...more
Excellent place to stay Tea coffee milk left for us on arrival Very comfortable every kitchen utensil provided. Downstairs shower small All in all a cute place to stay I would book again.
We loved our stay at Sixpenny Cottage. It is such a gorgeous and cozy cottage with beautiful views over the valley. We had stayed there before in 2020 and will certainly be going back. Thank you Rosie for being so helpful.
We celebrated my dad's 70th at Brock Cottage for the weekend with 14 of us including 6 children. Fantastic house the kids loved playing in the house more than being out. We loved the location its a hidden gem. Adam the owner was great at answering any questions I had. Overall amazing stay
Great location, close to walks and pubs. Lovely accommodation, clean and comfortable with lovely views. Perfectly suited!
In my opinion the photos showed a more desirable condition of the accommodations than they actually are. Unfortunately, during our stay demolition was taking place on the property next door so it was not the quite serene get away that I had anticipated. Lovely grounds and in close proximity of Witney.
Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy our stay at the Bothy due to an insect infestation. These also ended up on our bed. At first glance the house was clean, but upon closer inspection it turned out that a lot of dirt and (dead and living) insects were in corners, baseboards and under the bed. We have not been able to reach the owners for consultation about the insects or extra cleaning. We did have telephone contact with someone on the last day. We are disappointed with the response, because the problem was not taken seriously. The problem was made smaller than it was. There was no question ...more
Free entry to Sudeley castle is a nice bonus. Assistance with issues (they were only small ones) were dealt with promptly. Good proximity to village and supermarkets
Brilliant holiday home in a beautiful location, enjoyed waking up to the ducks and going out on the lake, in between spending time at the pool.
The cottage was in a really good location a short (steep!) walk into Tetbury. It was warm welcoming, comfortable and well equipped. Bear in mind it has steep stairs to the top floor. Castle Combe was a half hour drive away & Westonbirt only 10/15 minutes away. Tetbury has lots of local shops, eateries and pubs.
We were 5 adults and stayed for 10 days in the cottage …it was a family reunion …we had a very good time and experience…the cottage is well maintained and well equipped. The cottage is in the countryside 6km away for the high street of the closest town. Things to keep in mind, the steep stairs can be a struggle if you have seniors and the bathtub in the upper bedroom is not very practical.
Terrible smell inside the fridge so had to clean with antibacterial wipes, poorly maintained (missing tap covers, no privacy film on panel next to toilet, lots of small easy fixable issues) and absolutely full of flies. Left early and emailed company- their response was….thanks for letting us know!
Pilgrim Cottage is a pretty property in a nice location with great potential but the interior would benefit from a refresh throughout. Bed linen, towels, pillows, sofas and cushions are worn which reduced the general comfort and cosiness of our stay.
The accommodation is in a lovely quiet village not far from Cirencester. The village cafe at Priory Court was closed for refurbishment whilst we were there and the local pub (The Falcon) does not welcome dogs but we had some truly lovely meals out in local pubs a short drive away, e.g. The Bear in Cirencester, The Bell at Sapperton; The Crown at Ampney Brook. The house just needs some TLC and it could be amazing. A kitchen cupboard knob was stuck on with blutak; the two toilet flush handles which I used did 360 degree turns. The flooring in the downstairs utility room was very unstable and...more
Honeysuckle Cottage in Blockley could not have met our hopes and expectations more. The village and the proximity of Honeysuckle Cottage to the heart of the town, Blockley Cafe and store, was perfect. We loved being away from all the tourist madness. The locals were so kind and friendly. The breathtaking views from the back of the house overlooking the sheep pasture hills, the resting deer below the house and the golden cottages in a distance were so beautiful and captured the essence of the Cotswolds. A visiting black cat greeted me on the patio overlooking all this. The garden was deli...more
Management team were excellent in communicating with us. The place was lovely, however there were some items left in the cupboards (inc stale coffee) and fridge (milk) that could have been replaced with fresh coffee/ coffee pods for the coffee machine.
A beautiful cottage and a perfect location to explore the Cotswolds. Comfortable cozy romantic and would completely recommend if you are looking for a romantic break or to explore the surrounding area. The village has a lovely pub which on our stay was vibrant and nicely busy. The village is peaceful and very quiet, in fact we had more horses pass the cottage than cars. We definitely will book again
Used this as my last night with the boys getting married, followed by all the groomsmen a d their wives staying the night of the wedding. Fully equipped, with stunning views, amazing living space and kitchen. Will be coming back, maybe a family Christmas would be good here.
A substantial accommodation, large rooms and decent kitchen area. All heating was off when we arrived and 6 degrees c outside and similar inside, as it’s a big, old property with central heating, it was the second day before it was starting to become comfortable, and warm just as we were leaving. The seating in the main sitting room needs replacing as very little support left in the chairs and sofa, so we used other rooms. The wood burner is very nice addition, bring your own logs if you intend to use it for more than one day, as that’s what is supplied. If you are uncomfortable with spi...more
This was a perfect little hideaway for a weekend break. Set in beautiful grounds it was a great location and so peaceful. Will definitely be returning.
The building and location was lovely. Unfortunately the pool was very dirty and we was unable to use it. Also the windows were leaking
What a treat to arrive to a warm fire, beautifully decorated Christmas tree, wine and cake. Bluebell is a beautiful cottage. Magnificent views. My only negative is that if you are wishing to self-cater, the crockery and cutlery is quite limited.
Overall a great place, and we'll definitely be back. Preparation was a bit sloppy though, and we had to ask for a few things: When we arrived, there was no: 1/ Camp cot 2/ Fire wood 3/ bbq But host response was timely and attentive and all of these issues were remedied immediately.
Lovely stay at amber cottage, it was very clean and well kept. Beautiful swimming pool and area and e had some fab weather whilst there so we could make full use of it! Only downside is the constant noise of the motorway which is a little annoying.
This is a lovely place with lots of character. Perfect for a group stay and close to where we needed to be.
We stayed here for 2 nights and it was the perfect break! The house is beautiful with all the amenities you need. The garden was lovely and our dog thoroughly enjoyed running around and seeing the sheep every morning. The surrounding were amazing and incredibly peaceful. Would definitely recommend staying here and we will be returning next year!
This house is a beautiful stay, perfect for two families and a dog in tow! The children loved the garden, the rooms were spacious and you can tell this was once an immaculate home with lovely decor. Unfortunately we did notice several things through our stay that was a little disappointing considering this was our only family holiday and something we were really excited about. Firstly the Floors were dirty causing children’s white socks to be black. I can imagine cleaning a house of this size sometimes dust collects etc but this was noticeably dirty within the first few hours of arriving. Bani...more
Lovely village but parking impossible! Two pubs neither food for food but nearest nice for drink. Beds ok but a bit soft, biggest not a king size as advertised, second bedroom tiny no proper hanging space. Cottage nicely furnished but very difficult stairs with grab rails and poor outside space, badly maintained with very steep stairs up to it. Not value for money as too many things were a problem or missing , e.g. half size kettle, one cup caffe tier, mini freezer compartment iced up . Would not recommend booking with Bolthole Retreats as very unhelpful.
Comfortable well-furnished cottage with a beautiful view outside our windows where we enjoyed our stay. There were some nice hikes around the property and we took one of them. There was a cute pub close by. The road to the property was long and narrow. Recommend stocking up on a few basic groceries before you get there because the cottage does not have any. Our access code for the door did not work when we got there on a cold, dark, rainy evening. A few communications later we got the correct code.
