A wonderful 2 day stay at Kingscote, everything was perfect including the weather! The house is beautiful and the grounds amazing. The kitchen was well equipped and the table perfect for informal gatherings and meals. We thoroughly enjoyed the splendour of the place and grounds, all beautifully kept and wonderfully clean, in fact the photos do not do it justice. All the bedrooms were a great size and the extra touches of dressing gowns and slippers made it all the more special, bathrooms modern and all well appointed. In fact, it was so good, I am about to book it again .... A big thank you ...more
Brilliant weekend. Andy and Clare were fabulous and the accommodation was clean, spacious and yet cosy.
Beautiful townhouse within the Market Square and close to all the amenities that Stow has to offer. Very spacious kitchen, lounge and master bedroom and great addition to have a basement. High spec facilities made our stay in Stow a memorable one!
Lovely little cottage. Rooms were cosy and clean. We all enjoyed our stay. Will recommend to others..
A beutiful spacious and clean cottage in a lovely village and great location for exploring other parts of the Cotswolds. Pub selling great food within easy walking distance. Also enjoyable 30 min walk to Vegetablematters which has a great farm shop and cafe that also caters for vegan/dairy free/glueten free etc. MAny pubs, restaurants and cafes in the area are very dog friendly too. A visit in the chilly, rainy season didn't stop us enjpoying great walks and trips out. Will definitely return. We bookled the cottage through Bolthole Retreats online which was easy to use and the guest portal g...more
Absolutely perfect! Orchard Cottage was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and utterly charming. We could not fault it at all! The visitor guide was extremely informative with excellent recommendations for local pubs/ attractions. We would highly recommend Orchard Cottage and would return in a flash!
We have just returned from our stay at hill view. It is a beautiful renovated property that appears to be a double garage from the outside. It is decorated to a high standard with everything you would need for your stay. It is in a great location in the welcoming village of Gotherington with amenities close by and driving distance to many of the beautiful villages in the Cotswolds. We would definitely recommend this property to others and I’m sure we will return in the future.
We loved the Little Coach House. The cottage is beautiful, comfortable, furnished to high standards and with great taste, airy, bright and so well designed that it feels really spacious (even if it is small). Our two daughters adored having exclusive use the second floor bedroom and the mezzanine adjacent to it (with lots of games in the stylish trunk) as well as the playground just around the corner and the farm shop just a short stroll away. There is lots to visit in easy reach from the cottage. Last, but not least, Carla and Richard, the owners, are discreet but not far if you need help. We...more
We really enjoyed our recent stay at The Old Stables! Lovely location, very clean and comfortable accommodation, well equipped throughout. We look forward to visiting again!
This is the first self-catered accommodation I’ve stayed in which the owners really have thought of everything. The kitchen had a wide range of equipment, abundance of soft towels, dressing gowns, wonderful comfy beds, blankets, hot water bottles, I could go on…. We had a lovely stay. Thank you
Beautifully decorated luxury barn accommodation which is very well appointed and equipped. Owners are really welcoming and friendly. Dog friendly areas are genuinely dog friendly and all of the beautiful design touches make this a lovely, calming, peaceful place to visit. Highly recommended.
Quintessentially English. Extremely homely with outstanding finishes in a beautiful village. Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Firstly, the property itself: If you think it looks nice in the photos, in real life it is utterly beautiful. It's a seemingly impossible mix of old and new, cosy and spacious, rustic and contemporary. Located in the heart of a quiet, quintessentially Cotswolds town which isn't a through-road so has all but no traffic. Longborough has a great little shop and local pub, and is only a short drive from many popular towns and attractions. Secondly, the property management company: After various stays throughout the Cotswolds in recent years, properties by Bolthole Retreats are in my opinion a ...more
The cottage is delightful. Sue the owner had thoughtfully left us a welcome 'goody' pack which was very well received especially a really yummy carrot cake. Set in a wonderful setting, peaceful and with everything we needed the cottage was just what was needed. Most importantly there is a super king sized bed that is really comfortable. We have just returned after a week and have booked for a return visit in September. Charlbury is a lovely base for getting to explore and is not beset by masses of tourists which makes it a very friendly place - the deli and its staff are a delight and the ...more
5 and a dog easily accommodated, in luxurious interior , beautiful outdoor living for a week and fresh eggs as a bonus. Lots to do in the area and good places to eat out. Great celebration of joint birthdays, would visit again
We stayed at Orchard View for 4 nights accommodation to be just as advertised. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. The bed was comfortable and most importantly, for an April break, the cottage was warm! We were very grateful for the extras left by the owners (bread, milk, jam and biscuits) We both love the area and would very much like to return.
We had a lovely few days staying in Cotsworld, wonderful accommodation. Would highly recommend. Lovely property, location was also fantastic.
Perfect cottage for a weekend away in the Cotswolds. Great location to get to nearby Broadway and Bourton.
Absolutely loved our stay in a very well equipped hut. The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. Home from home comforts, bed was so comfy & hot tub was fabulous. Highly recommend this hut. The only improvement is if Wi-Fi was available within the hut.
We stayed at Percy Street for a family celebration. It's well located for Stratford centre, parking was good, and it's at the end of a quiet close. The garden and kitchen/diner were great to celebrate in with family, and the whole property feels very clean, newly decorated and fresh. We stayed in June but I can see it would also feel cosy in winter. Samii, our contact, was really helpful when I called her to arrange some items regarding our stay. I can't think of any reason not to recommend staying here.
Second time here and still just as quiet, beautiful and wonderful as the first time. Great walks again and the cottage still so comfortable and welcoming. A third stay definitely beckons!
Everything was top notch! ………………………………………,,,,,,,……,……,,.,,………………………………………….,…………………………………………………………..
Cottage had all the home comforts, was clean and comfortable. Good mixture of modern facilities in traditional setting. Will be back
We love the cottage, it’s like a home from home and very comfortable. This was our second visit in six months so that probably says it all! Thanks so much for a lovely stay in a gorgeous cottage with friendly villagers and a great pub within 50 steps! We will be back again!
This was perfect for a weekend escape - and the garden is fabulous. Thanks very much, will stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely house. The small touches made all the difference, such as fresh flowers in the main rooms. The house is also well equipped.
As I am not a native speaker I hope I am sending the right message, The Cottage is very cosy , elegant & comfortable, we both enjoyed our staying for seven days very very much. The surrounding is the nicest we have expirienced -especially the walk from Coln to Bibury. And we loved the local Store… We had sunshine the whole time, only one day was a bit rainy ( for which we were longing for, after the heat). Lots of Love Birgit and David from Munich
Our stay was AMAZING truly outstanding and the location was superb . We had the best time we felt like we were in the film 'the holiday 'as we woke up to snow on the Saturday morning and with a roaring fire we had to pinch ourselves . The facilities are second to none and the accommodation was very warm in actual fact we have travelled a lot all over the world and it is and was the best we have ever stayed in . Thank you
Lovely cottage. Clean, spacious cosy. Very helpful friendly owner. Great location in stow - very close to places to eat and drink.
We booked this house for a family birthday weekend. It was such a lovely property and location, that it made our weekend more special. It had everything we could have needed, with different places to sit if we did not want to all be together. The garden was so beautiful and sitting out on the patio was nice, weather permitting. The beds were comfortable and quality linen and towels provided.
We had a wonderful weekend at Hyde Tyning cottage, it was the perfect place for a group of 5 friends to get together. The house was spotless and really well equipped. The provision of luxury handwash, lotion and shampoo, along with robes and slippers made it feel a real treat. The bedrooms are fairly compact but nicely finished and the downstairs area provides plenty of space for cooking, dining and sitting to talk. The British weather was on our side so we could enjoy the patio, which was a bonus. It was great to be able to walk from the door on public footpaths, onto Minchinhampton common ...more
If total relax, chirping of the birds and a setting with astonishing colourful surroundings and a dreamlike cottage is what you want, cosy Rose Cottage is the ideal place. An added value the historic and welcoming English pub just a few metres a way and the tiny and delightful St Leonard Church just accross the road. Excellent the support provided by Bolthole Agency given we live abroad and are little acquainted with uk burocracy.
We found Forsythia cottage to be very convenient, cosy and comfortable. Everything you could ever need for self catering was provided. The welcome pack was very informative and of help to us, and the welcome treets made us feel valued and was a lovely touch...Thank you. The cottage was in a fantastic location just behind the main street and in the middle of some interesting shops and restaurants.....couldn't have been better. This tastefully modernised, yet old world cottage and outdoor space was a pleasure to stay in. We would stay again. Good mobility required for the steep narrow st...more
Chestnut Cottage is one of 3 cottages located within the grounds of Postlip House. The grounds are quintessential English country house and are beautifully maintained. This follows through to the cottages. Chestnut Cottage was decorated and furnished to a very high standard, with quality fixtures and fittings. The 2 bedrooms are very comfortably furnished, with the beds being super comfortable. The bathroom is gorgeous - a large shower and a wonderful freestanding bath. The kitchen has quality Siemens appliances and is well equipped for 4. Sitting room is very stylish in a mid century sty...more
A very tranquil beautiful spot for a comfortable, spacious cottage in picturesque Blockley. All mod cons provided and some lovely views. Ample parking, just follow directions to the letter, easy to miss. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom with shower was luxurious. A wonderful weekend at Stepping Stones!
We had a very relaxing stay in Woodbine cottage and were blessed with perfect weather to enjoy the extensive garden, with its sunny terrace. Very well placed for Stow and the rest of the Cotswolds, we visited Hidcote and Kiftsgate gardens nearby, loved Chipping Campden, had a drink at the local pub in Upper Oddington and enjoyed strolling through the village.
Booked this house for a long weekend with family. It was the perfect base. House was beautiful and had everything we needed. Great location for lots of walks from the house.
The Singer House is absolutely incredible! Great place for a weekend away with friends or family and the dog!! Fully equipped kitchen so that you can enjoy lovely meals in the beautiful courtyard and great walks along Cotswold Way. The organisation and communication with the company was perfect.
Hi We really enjoyed our stay in the Poppy cottage. The house was very clean but I noticed all the garbages of previous rentals in the outdoor storage place. This necessitate to be cleaned. Kind regards, Emilie Beck
This is our second visit to the Drying House. Again the house was spotless and very warm and comfortable. We were welcomed by a super friendly couple who helped us with parking etc. Everything we needed was in the house, a wonderfully equipped kitchen with everything you need and some cleaning items. Very comfortable beds, with crisp white bedding and soft towels. Bathrooms are snug but have wonderful showers! Heating was superb and easily turned up or down with plenty of red hot water. We loved every minute of our stay and Ledbury has everything from top end hotels to a very good f...more
What a fabulous find. This beautiful little cottage is so conveniently located. A short walk from the town centre, where there is a wonderful selection of little shops and cafes. Yet only a ten minute drive from the stunning Malvern Hills. The Conygree Woods are a short stroll away for morning walks if you have a dog. The cottage was very well equipped, with everything we needed during our stay, and the beds were super comfy, with the master bedroom having a super king size, which felt very luxurious! Janet and Peter were quick to greet us on arrival and make us feel very welcome. They live in...more
From the very start dealing with Bolthole Retreats we were very impressed. From the answering an initial query in great detail and advising us on how to get best value from our stay with them, through additional support for travel cot and highchair needs before arrival, we were super happy. On arrival at Tachbrook it did not disappoint. The property is quite frankly stunning with a beautifully maintained front garden and a short gravel drive that will fit a good sized vehicle. Inside the level of quality continues. The downstairs living spaces are well appointed and styled in a country cottag...more
We had a lovely stay, the village is beautiful, very sleepy, excellent cafe/Restaurent. The house is fabulous, very spacious and the garden was beautiful. Had a fun table tennis tournament too. There was coffee, a selection of teas, even coffee pods and foil and cling film alongside other necessities which was a bonus. Situated next to a Church, which chimed on the hour, every hour throughout the night however there were fans in some of the rooms so with closed windows and fans on at night we overcame the problem. Beds were really comfy and linen and duvets etc. high quality, as were the furn...more
Just returned from a long weekend at Brown’s Cottage - this is our second time here - it was as lovely as last year. Very comfortable. Nice layout over 3 floors. Opposite a food store, a few steps from a lovely pub (The Bull Inn) and there’s a nice deli just down the road. Charlbury is a small village, it’s very pretty and it’s an easy drive to many other charming towns and villages
We varied in age between 9 and 75. We checked on Google maps for a route from South Wales. I missed the house first time. The barn suited us very well, equipment in kitchen was good, beds comfortable. The position is outstanding with animals free roaming , peace and quiet. We booked 3 nights, families departed Sunday after 2. The owner came to check that all was well. I had a lovely time .
Stable cottage is located in a wonderful setting and is extremely cosy. It has everything you need and the hosts are very helpful. We loved the hot tub and the local walks and will definitely return!
Had a great stay at this cottage with a group of seven. Rooms are really spacious and lots of entertaining space both inside and out!
We really enjoyed our stay at Crofters Barn. It was a very charming and spacious cottage. The village is in a great location and the local pub was fantastic- would recommend to other visitors to try out their Sunday roast!
Kingfisher cottage had everything we needed as a family with ages ranging from 18 to 87. Especially welcome was the downstairs bedroom for disabled people with a special orthopedic bed. To be ideal it would have ensuite ,but the wet room at the end of the hall was close enough. The owners were very pleasant and helpful, Cooking and dining areas very spacious and well equipped, and the pool table kept the younger ones entertained. All in all, a FIND!
A beautiful home in a beautiful village, surrounded by beautiful views! The house had everything you could need and more, so many thoughtful details. Would love to visit again!
We picked Grindstone Mill to celebrate our fathers delayed 80th Birthday Celebrations. We had the most magical time here, the pictures of the house do not do it justice, it is absolutely stunning. We made the most amazing memories here and can’t wait to return.
A beautiful property in gorgeous surroundings If I was being really picky, I would say extra table wear ( only 3 dinner plates) and cooking equipment would be useful . We did however have a fabulous holiday with great walks for our dog .
Attention to detail in design and furnished with thought and quality fittings. Highly recommended. Lovely outlook from the garden and the hot tub is a welcome extra.
We stayed here for a week after not being any where since the start of the pandemic .We would thoroughly recommend this place for a relaxing break as it is pretty central if you wish to explore the Cotswolds..We would definitely stay here again ! The owner was very welcoming and pleasant through out our stay The only criticism we would make when you are staying for a week is that there is a shortage of cleaning products ,towels and crockery in the cupboards .
Chocolate box cottage in a wonderful setting. The cottage is a good base for exploring this lovely area. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Lots of character. It is absolutely tiny, and the king size bed advertised is actually only a double.
Church Cottage is ideally situated on a quiet lane right next to the Church and only moments from the shops on the High Street. Very well furnished with thoughtful extras such as a bluetooth speaker we could use in the garden. Very highly recommended.
We actually stayed in the Barn owing to a change of plan. The Barn was a lovely cottage, a super kitchen with a dining table and a lovely downstairs loo and a small but cosy lounge. We did feel that the lounge would have been very cosy for four adults. Another arm chair would be better than the three seat settee! Upstairs were two spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage space and a tv in the double room. This has a huge bed lovely! There is a shower room on this floor which has a very good shower. We had a super stay in Ledbury which is a lovely little market town, excellent individ...more
Really great location. Lovely cottage, great for family trip away. Everyone loved it! Super clean and helpful hosts! Loved the dogs popping in to say hello!
We had a delightful holiday in this beautiful rental house with our family of 8 and our small wiener dog. Everything we needed was accommodated forr and the area is simply stunning! I would recommend it to everyone!
Thatch cottage is in a quiet village 10 minutes away from all the facilities of Morton in Marsh. Provided all we needed for a pleasant stay. Very well equiped kitchen and comfortable sofas/ chairs and beds. There was off road parking by the side of the cottage for 2 medium sized cars.
A fabulous property where we immediately felt at home . Perfect size for us and with all the mod cons you need to feel absolutely at home as soon as you step over the threshold . Bolthole Retreats we’re very professional , making the whole experience a very pleasant one . Sad to return from Coln St Aldwyns , an idyllic Cotswolds village with loads to do locally - but don’t tell too many people … We would hate to do Bolthole Retreats out of work but it’s so nice we would buy the place tomorrow !! Thank you so much !
Beautiful home with everything you could need. Clean, comfortable beds and peaceful location. We arrived quite late on our first day, so the key box was really handy. Looks as good as the photos! We did struggle to find it initially - could do with a bigger sign.
We stayed at Cotswold cottage for 3 nights. It is a really lovely cottage in a very quiet + lovely location. It was spacious, extremely clean and very well equipped. We were also extremely grateful for the really lovely cake, coffee + milk left for us on arrival. Lovely touch + most welcomed. The beds in the cottage were extremely comfortable + on those grounds alone I would definitely return. Makes all the difference to have a good nights sleep when away. Bathrooms were lovely also. Photo's are very accurate and there was no hidden agenda's. The units in the kitchen are beginning to look a ...more
We had a lovely couple of days at Lovell Cottage. It’s an really attractive property, inside and out. The beds were very comfortable, the house was clean, well appointed and worked perfectly for our time with friends this weekend. We hope to be back. Thank you.

Been to this cottage three times now just love it very comfortable great location for walking into Bourton on the water.. Good off road parking. It's like Home from Home .
The Old Chapel in Shipton Oliffe was absolutely delightful and in a beautiful location. So comfortable, cosy and well equipped. We loved it and would have no hesitation in recommending it .
A lovely property in an excellent location. Park the cars on arrival and no need to use them again until you leave. Archers is very well equipped and has some “extras” not found in most holiday lets. Mirrors in some of the bedrooms would be useful, hairdryers need a very long lead to see in bathroom mirrors! Free entry to Sudeley Castle is a fabulous bonus. We’ll be back.
After an exhausting ten days we arrived at the lane to the farm. We agreed after those ten days the coming week could be either a disaster or blind. Very quickly we realised it would be bliss and so it was. The Bull Pen is a fabulous place to stay in a wonderful environment . The cottage has all necessary facilities for a good stay. Our hosts could not have been more helpful. The countryside around is peaceful and enjoyable and the Bull is central to many enjoyable excursions within 20 miles without going into Bath. And the wild swimming is genuine as my daughter who visited us found to he...more
I stayed for a total of 3 nights with my partner. On our arrival there were a few unexpected issues with the property which led to me calling up the owner, Kate, late at night (10pm-ish!). Kate picked up and immediately came round to the property to try and sort the issues, and offered us a stay in one of her other properties instead to give her time to fix the problems. I was really impressed with Kate’s speed in coming round as well as her kind and friendly attitude. We ended up staying in Owl’s End - the property next door, and we had no qualms whatsoever! The place was very cosy, and ...more
We loved our stay in the Granary - it was a great spot for walks with our pooch, so close to the river and there were lots of good places to get dinners (although opt for collection or know your instructions well for delivery as we ended up on a rescue mission!). There is also a big Tesco near Evesham which is only a quick drive up the road, so you can pick up everything else you need. The kitchen area looked very clean and most of the utensils/cutlery also looked clean. Besides quite a few cobwebs everywhere else also seemed clean too! And cleaning supplies were left, which was really han...more
We returned to Sudeley a second time for our Easter break, the cottage is clean comfortable both in winter and spring. Perfect location to Winchcombe and a lovely walk to the castle. The cottage has everything you may need the bathrooms are very clean with towels and a few toiletries, great for when you’ve forgotten something. The team at the cottages work very hard, there wasn’t a day they were not there cleaning other cottages getting them ready for new guests. We managed to misplace our key whilst there, which was replaced quickly without any fuss.(Thanks to Gary!) Thank you all again for...more
My partner and I stayed at Daffodil Barn for two nights and the accommodation is fantastic. Lovely and modern, peaceful location and very clean! The only thing we didn’t realise is that there isn’t really any taxi service available to local areas if you were going to eat and drink out. Overall lovely stay, thank you!
Overall the property was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. However, we were unable to connect to the internet when we arrived. We rang the number we had been given and then sent a message but received no reply. in the morning we rang Bolthole Retreats who gave us a different number. This resulted in a partial coverage but we were not able to use the smart tv while staying at the property. There were only two mugs at the property, although there were lots of glasses.
We really enjoyed our stay at Stable Cottage. It was perfectly located for our exploration of the Cotswolds and when we returned back each day it was to a beautifully decorated warm and cosy cottage. We would thoroughly recommend you stay here.
Lovely property really well appointed ( poss add a vegetable steamer and some deep roasting pans ) The pub is really close and has great food and drinks . Farm shop & butcher 5 mins walk or 5 mins drive to chipping Camden which has a co-op and several other interesting shops
Lovely place with good facilities and comfortable beds. Kitchen is very well equipped. Log burner would be amazing in the winter.
Enjoyable weekend in Mickleton. Good walking from the front door. Woodside Cottage was ideal for 6, plenty to do when inside, excellent kitchen space and facilities. Ample outside seating which catches the late afternoon and early evening sun. Games Room with a beer fridge was the icing on the cake!
We love the location of this cottage and the character of the beautiful property! The garden was a lovely place to sit in the evening and the annex space was a bonus. Unfortunately, five of the six beds are single twins and four of those five had very uncomfortable mattresses in which you could feel the springs in the bed. Since it seems reasonable that some adults will be in the twin beds it would be nice to have better quality mattresses in those rooms. We did, however, have a wonderful stay and loved the village!
My wife and I have had a most relaxing stay Under the Walnut Tree. Fiona and Malcom are most welcoming, as are the puppies . Beautiful views in a great location, we both have come away relaxed and refreshed. Thank you both for a great escape.
A bijou cottage in a pretty village with a good pub. Close enough to Chipping Norton for supplies. We visited Daylesford just over a mile away for deli, wine, to eat and the spa, all fabulous. Great for dogs, lovely walks and a super big village green absolutely opposite which ever supplied poo bags! Centrally located and close to Diddly Squat which was a very nice farm shop.
We booked the house to celebrate our 40th birthdays in style and loved the whole weekend. The house was perfect for a group of friends to relax and catch up. It had everything we needed and the beds were super comfy. The hot tub was great to sit in and enjoy the views. Thanks for hosting us!
Beautiful, very quiet and extremely charming cottage in ancient building with all modern conveniences. There are paths through the adjacent farmland, very few people around. Close to both Oxford and Cotswold towns. I do recommend that the host provide detailed written driving directions, as this property can not be found on Apple or Google maps. Also, if you have never been to the Cotswolds, the local roads are very narrow and scary to drive. Get a SMALL rental car to make it easier. But it is otherwise a perfect place to stay - We have done many vacation rentals, and this is the most uniqu...more
Cosy, comfortable and clean cottage in a picturesque location, a perfect weekend break , couldnt have wished for more
We have just finished a wonderful week at the hayloft. Loved the garden and shelter from the showers. Wood burner lovely when the evening chill arrived and a great location for the Cotswolds and Claire and Jed were great to meet. Fully recommend for a visit and base to travel around.
We had a good stay at Westerleigh. The cottage is well equipped with quality linens and kitchen basics and also well located for local drives and walks. The kitchen crockery could do with replacing as a lot of it is quite old. Check in was smooth. Would recommend for 2 couples and a child. Or a group of friends.
Myself and my 4 friends found the estate by accident whilst searching for a post Covid break just for us girls!! Well, we will all be back. The location is awesome, the accomadation couldnt be better. We loved the animals on the farm. We fell in love with Blue, Brie, Maggie and the puppy! What a super bunch of dogs, they make you feel at home without invading your space. We had 3 perfect days, filled with walks, afternoon tea, Bath, the Spa and the farm. Wayne was also the perfect host, in Clive's absence. We will be back with our families, with our husbands but.most importantly ...more
We had a wonderful stay. Thank you. Loads of space in a beautiful village with a wonderful pub and lots of walking options. Parking space was really useful. Bed and bedding was very comfy as was the rest of the house. The only thing I would suggest for an area of improvement is the amount of utensils available in the kitchen. Volume of glasses were light (likely to be due to breakages) as well as things like salad bowl, serving spoons, collinder and kitchen cooking spoons We still managed to cook so not a massive issue. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it
We were thrilled with the view and garden at Lark Rise Cottage and loved walking to the town cafe and shop. We found the town very welcoming and enjoyed exploring nearby towns and gardens at Bourton House and Sezincote. The Batsford Arboretum is also an easy drive. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Old Butcher’s in Stow and we always love the Churchill Arms in Paxford which is sadly closed for awhile. The cottage was clean , well equipped and comfortable. Can’t wait to return.
The "upside down" house works well and, as the weather was very good, the decking area was a great asset. It's in a perfect location with Stratford, Broadway, Bourton on the Water and many other beautiful places within a 30 min drive. The beds and the lounge area were very comfortable but there were some disappointing aspects of cleanliness (mouldy bread in the bread bin, socks on the bedroom floor and the kitchen sink and the surfaces could have been cleaner too). The heat built up a lot and a visit from Boris the bat discouraged us from leaving the doors open! However, the setting is great,...more
It’s a really wonderful spot, in the shadows of the castle, a couple of minutes from the village and in beautiful countryside. It’s perfect for a family or friends reunion - lovely communal spaces (the big garden with a lovely outdoor dining area) and spacious bedrooms and annexe. Would highly recommend
Quirky, cosy and comfortable stay, with easy parking and access to Bibury. Well equipped and easy to use facilities, and the spiral staircase is a novelty!
Perfect location for walking from the door many of the paths around Winchcombe. Accommodation was very well equipped, crisp white bed linen and fluffy white towels. We were blessed with very good weather, enjoying breakfast on the veranda . I would highly recommend the property and would return to use again. Plenty of good places to eat in the town and staying in the cottage gives you free entrance to Sudeley Castle too.
The location was wonderful. Do not expect restocking of anything during your stay. It makes travel with children more difficult. During times of higher heat the bedrooms can become hot and will not cool until late into the night of early morning. I was not very sure how to contact staff. Not being a custom to touch less stays I was not sure how to best approach issues with our stay.
The house needs improving internally, the living room looks like a caravan or similar to those stayed in holiday parks whilst on rugby tours with my sons. The lighting needs improving, a bigger coffee table, the clock is a waste of space and by the way does not work (none of the clocks in the house, including the oven clocks work). The showers are tiny - luckily we are all slim but I do not think a larger person could fit. There is no shelving in the bathroom to store cosmetic or wash items. The beds are comfy and bed linen is fine but the standard of items is poor, including the furniture ...more
The area is lovely for a few days away. The cottage is situated in a quiet area. There are pubs, coffee shops and grocery shops in the village as well as a local bus to Cheltenham.
The two bedrooms here are on the third floor and have very little ventilation. Two of our three nights here the bedrooms were too hot to sleep until the early mornings. This made our sightseeing plans much more difficult to complete. I would cancel any plans to stay here if temps rise above 80F.
We wanted a midweek break in May and this was a great choice. The house has plenty of room and everything you need, including plenty of parking and 2 TVs. The ground floor bedroom with en-suite was great for elderly or infirm (just one small step down from the bathroom) and the patio area was a real sun trap. On the edge of the village there were walks from the front door, but still only a stroll into town.
Our second stay here and it was a pleasure to be back. Comfortable, warm accommodation with beautiful views. Well-equipped kitchen, with lots of little extras. Spacious living room with smart TV. Upstairs the beds are super comfy. Everything is clean. The farm and fields are great to explore and friendly owners and staff are on hand to answer questions. A very relaxing stay.
Beautiful property with plenty of parking space. The place was clean and neat with all amenities needed for the first day. Shops are close by. sometimes the shops close earlier. Bed was comfortable. The stay comes with travel cot and baby high chair which made life easy for us. Easy access to castle.I recommend staying here.
An excellent property for our stay. Great situation, and characterful - only shame that the original name had not been retained. Comfortable, very nicely presented, quiet and secure. Great walking around, much directly out of the property.
We loved this house. Great facilities, super comfortable and wonderful quiet and beautiful location. Would come here again
Lovely cottage ,warm + welcoming ,does have a lot of steps to manage especially in the garden. May have liked some seating at the bottom end where the sun was.Really struggled to get 2 cars in, was very tight. Was a great location to travel both north + south visiting as many places as possible for first time visitors to the Cotswolds
Fabulous weather meant we spent all our stay outside, which was fortunate as lounge furniture not the most comfortable. dishwasher provided but with only 4 of each size of crockery it meant washing after every meal. suggest investing in additional crockery and upgrading lounge furniture would greatly improve facility Only 3 coat hangers for 4 guests does seem somewhat mean
Great property for a weekend away to take part in the #51Fiver Tri. Clean, perfect location and lots of activities to do. Highly recommend.
Ideal Cottage for walking in the Cotswolds. Brockhampton is a very quiet collection of Cotswolds houses in beautiful countryside. We found the kitchen very well equipped and a welcoming starter pack of baguettes, butter, apple juice, biscuits, eggs and milk. The fire was laid and a good amount of logs left in the basket. Parking easy with a gravel area for 2 cars. The cottage is spacious enough not to feel cramped. The pub opposite did excellent lunch. The pub like many these days is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, otherwise we would have visited it daily. We visited Chedworth Roman Villa and ...more
Generally a nice stay but we did walk in to around 20-30 lice as we entered the cottage. Some dead, most alive. Some in the bathroom, on the curtains but most in the kitchen. We contacted the owner who apologised. Overall the cottage was nice, mostly clean (dusty in parts) and nice and quiet (if that’s what you want - we did).
Very hard to review as family unable to fly from states because of covid. Couldn’t cancel. On own!!!
4 night stay location ideal for short stay walking car req for further attractions steam railway virtually within touching distance local pubs within 10 mins driving all do excellent food at reasonable price . Shepherds hut unique experience very comfortable and peaceful location with nice modern bathroom wood fired hot tub a nice touch . Ideal place just to sit out and re charge batteries and de stress .
Beautiful clean and modern cottage within a few minutes walk of the town. Well equipped, comfy beds and great shower. Set in a really pretty courtyard and close to many walks Greeted with a bottle of bubbly for my husbands 50th which was a really lovely touch, thank you! Will certainly recommend and hopefully be back again.
This was a convenient stay over for us but lack of windows with an outside view and outside traffic noise would not have made this a pleasant choice for a leisure stay where it was planned to spend time relaxing at the cottage.
An absolutely charming cottage. The location was perfect with just a few short steps from the car and from the main high street. It was warm and clean. Everything we needed was provided for. Broadway has the most amazing deli, restaurants and bars all within walking distance of the cottage. The garden was fabulous to take your early morning coffee and evening drinks. The bathroom was clean and had everything you need (obviously not toiletries). The kitchen is small but compact and very useful and the living room is very comfortable. Overall a fabulous weekend and I genuinely cannot wai...more
Nice place. Great location. A little tired. Dining chairs are very uncomfortable. The whole accommodation could do with a deep clean. Some light bulbs not working. However, we have had a lovely few days.
All communication prior to our arrival was fine! Winchcombe is extremely charming and Sudeley castle a must see! But upon arrival we found a number of things that we had not expected: Some of the windows did not work properly. The kitchen window could not be locked. That's why we talked to (the very kind) electrician on the premises the day after our arrival. But no repair was done while we were there. The rim of the bathtub was rather badly broken. A big dent was in the wall next to it. The bathroom window could only be operated with force and when stepping into the bathtub. As in other ...more
Hill View Rise is a fab house in a great location for exploring the North Cotswolds. We stayed as a family (6 adults, 2 children and a dog!) and had lots of space. The garden is great for the children and it's very close to Chipping Campden (20 min walk) and also Dover's Hill (10 min). The four bedrooms are a good size, the kitchen is well equipped and the log burner was a big hit! If you are going with children who go to bed earlier, I'd recommend not putting them in the bedroom under the kitchen as it's very noisy - we had to move ours on the first night as they kept getting woken ...more
The house was warm and welcoming and very comfortable and the showers were fantastic. Winchcombe has everything you need; shops, pubs, good walks and you can easily get into Cheltenham by bus. This was not our first visit and we would definitely return. Bolthole Retreats are excellent and are my first choice for properties in the area.
Just back from a 2 day break at the lord high admiral, we had a terrific time and the free entry to the castle was an added bonus and can recommend the food at the nearby white heart pub
Everything was great. A few comments - There was not much cupboard space to store food. There was no chance for food waste recycling - however I understand this could be problematical. The bathroom mirror light stopped working during our stay. The rear of the entrance door was rather marked/ paint chipped.
Gorgeous home in an absolutely beautiful setting! The village of Tarlton is so cute and neat lots of beautiful sites. A perfect Cotswold hideaway!
We’ve had a lovely stay at The Old Manse. Such a beautiful and place with everything we needed. The kitchen in particular is beautiful. The property is a great base for day trips out and a relaxing place to return to at the end of a day exploring.
My husband, daughter and myself really enjoyed this peaceful, comfortable house. We were able to visit the beautiful castle and other places of interest
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 1 Horseshoe Cottages. The cottage is very well equipped and has everything we needed to feel at home. It was very clean and we appreciated the little touches like the flowers and chocolates on arrival. We would definitely recommend a stay here!
Our stay was overall a good one, the property grounds are lovely, as is the village and good food at The Sherborne Arms just 10 minutes easy walk away. We were two families with kids, so we enjoyed playing badminton, football, the gas bbq and board games. The property is a little on the tired side, not as fresh at the pictures but it’s still perfectly fine, could do with more fridge space for drinks. The property is adjoining a small house to one side, which we didn’t mind but were just conscious we were bbqing outside someone else’s window. It’s not obvious from the photos. On arriv...more
We had a wonderful long weekend at Holly Cottage. It was beautifully clean, well presented and there was plenty of space for 6 adults. The location was perfect for walking, some lovely circular walks to local villages such as Bibury and Quenington providing plenty of picnic or pub stops along the way. The village of Coln itself has a lovely pub which came highly recommended and didn’t disappoint. There is also a cafe within the village shop which is in a lovely location to sit in the garden and watch the world go by. The hosts and housekeepers of Holly Cottage made every effort to make our...more
STAYED AT THE LOVELY PRINCESS ELIZABETH COTTAGE AT BOLTHOLE RETREATS, IT WAS LOVELY AND CLEAN VERY WELL PRESENTED AND COULD WISH FOR A BETTER PLACE TO STAY WILL BE COMING BACK TO STAY WITH BOLTHOLE RETREATS. DEBORAH GRIFFITH
My family and I had a wonderful time at Oldbury Barn - it was the perfect location for us. It’s out of the way but there’s a pub 5 mins down the road by car (Green Dragon) and the rolling countryside is literally on the doorstep! The Barn itself has been beautifully restored. The living space is open and large. The two downstairs bedrooms are a great size, with smaller rooms upstairs in the eves. There is a laundry room upstairs too which is really useful! We had a great time and will definitely consider staying again .
We booked last minute to visit New Church Cottage and had an excellent time. The cottage was perfect for us and was a real home from home. Everything was newly renovated and extremely comfortable and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Tetbury is a lovely town and we used it to plan various walks and enjoy some great food.
Lovely renovated Granary, has everything you should need! A wonderful log burner, all warm and cosy to greet you! Great hosts live next door, very helpful and friendly. Great size accommodation for couples or families, lovely countryside setting, great easy access to both Glos and Cheltenham, Perfect Bolthole!!!
We had a lovely week here. Very roomy cottage with a modern kitchen. Nice to have your own outside space too. Freindly and helpful owners. We'll be back!
We really enjoyed our stay at Brock Cottage. Owners were very accomodating, the space was great and an amazing big outside space with lots of kids play areas. We stayed for a family reunion, rooms were good and we liked the mix of all the decorations! Location wise there’s lots of places nearby you can drive too or walks in the area.
Overall we had a very nice stay at Amber Cottage, we found the cottage comfortable and well equipped, I have to praise the owner for the pots, pans, plates and glasses etc, everything had been thought of in advance. The open plan layout works well, with two of us staying we had a very relaxed time while also taking time to go to many of the local sites, great access to Gloucester, Cirencester, Bristol (Air museum) and lots of Cotswold locations. We both got what we wanted from the holiday and came back refreshed and happy with our stay. This is also extremely well situated for the 417 Bike Par...more
Found the Cottage was a little small for 6 adults ie the downstairs bedroom only 1 shower - felt cottage had not been cleaned fully I realise it was Christmas but previous occupants rubbish was still there maybe someone could of gone to the bottle bank also a previous occupants piece of clothing found behind the sofa leak under the sink and dishwasher door was faulty
A glorious weekend with excellent facilities with SO much to do within touching distance. We took both cottages for 3 couples and a young child in a cot. The highlight was the garden complete with BBQ and space for a toddler to roam free. We also loved the general standard across the property and the eco credentials (heat pump, eco toiletries etc). Everything was clean and in a good state of repair save for a few damp stains here and there and the odd bit of crumbling paint. We visited Cotswold Farm Park on a rainy day which was great for all ages when accompanying a child, with suprisingly ...more
Corn Close is a beautiful, comfortable, cosy house, which we fell in love with as soon as we stepped in the doorway. It has everything you would need and more. We always end up missing our own home comforts when staying away, yet this was our first - where we completely forgot we are not at home. It truly is an ultimate home from home retreat. Our kids and the dog loved their break and the garden in particular. Despite the occasional rain and the early spring chill in the air - we couldn't get them back inside. With plenty of our own outdoor amenities and even a brook to explore, we reluctantl...more
Very beautiful place to spend nice time with friends or family at Costworlds. Nice village and surroundings
A number of issues arose during our stay. The visitor manual is out of date; the heating paragraph refers to a redundant remote control. It currently has a dial rather than a touch screen. The system is not timed but is temperature dependant, for example at 20 degrees, and then the boiler keeps coming on overnight. A little explanation would help. Similarly we only had intermittent hot water at the bathroom basin the first night, and no hot water at all the first morning. Trying to get help on a Saturdaybwas entertaining - we left 2 separate voicemail messages, waiting for a response, befor...more
The property is nice, quite small but enough space. The kitchen and garden are great, kitchen is well designed and has all the right equipment. The garden is well kept and nice. The property could do with a downstairs toilet, but due to the age of the house this is probably not achievable. The location and parking is great, unfortunately the property is not cheap to stay in but its worth the money
Great place to stay and plenty of space. My lovely daughters loved his place and asked to visit again later.
Lovely house, well suited for larger families or groups of friends. Pub next door convenient and very friendly. Stayed in March - house was chilly - radiators did not really get above slightly warm. Used log burner but still was chilly.
Really enjoyed our stay - there's tones of social space, big outdoor area and pub just around the corner. We went as a group of 8 girls and it was perfect for us - we're even thinking about booking again for next year. I would say there are 3 things that could be improved. 1. Nowhere near enough toilet paper provided. 2. Could do with a deep clean - I know you're in the countryside so insects will get in, but need to clear away thing like cobwebs better. 3. General facilities could be updated: knives, shower, fridge etc.
We had a lovely time in this quirky period house. The rooms are beautifully decorated with lots of nice touches such as games and children’s toys. The garden is a particularly nice feature and the kitchen is well equipped. I would recommend this place to any large groups, particularly anyone with children.
Milliner's Barn was an excellent, well designed property, offering plenty of space for four occupants. Consequently, it provided a very good base from which to explore this part of the Cotswolds.
Nice cottage and location and lots of potential but the decor and cleanliness was not up to scratch. Chesterfield sofa was filled with crumbs in the holes, dead wood lice all over the floor (and they had the cheek to ask us to remove our shoes ) not ideal for four adults but it could have been if you’d just buy a proper bed for the room with two singles instead of a camp bed… also don’t say dog friendly when the dogs were not allowed in half of the house or on your crumby sofa or allowed to poop in the yard
A wonderful property, great location. Heating on arrival was 28 degrees, only discovered during hot night. Shower was too hot even on coldest setting. Master bedroom wardrobe needed cobwebbing & main light needed dusting. Lack of storage in bedrooms. Had a lovely weekend, shower was main issue needs addressing.
