We just love this place, it is perfect for our annual family gathering with all our dogs. Staff are lovely and grounds beautiful. Definitionally hope to return
Fantastic accommodation with all you could need to make a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Location is fantastic.
We booked here to celebrate our mothers 80th birthday and there was 18 of us and a baby too. It was big enough and comfortable for all of us. The place was so clean and organised with everything provided that you would need to for your stay. Kitchen was well equipped. There was a travel cot, highchair and toys provided for baby also dog bed and treats, everything was well provided for. I would highly recommend this place and in a great location
We absolutely adored this property. In the most perfect position in lovely Charlbury, about a minutes walk from the pub. Really handy for Burford, Soho Farmhouse, Daylesford… the property had been really tastefully decorated for Christmas and this weekend was the perfect start to the festive season for our group of friends. Well equipped, really comfortable and absolutely spotless. Warm and cosy with a fabulous fireplace and great supply of logs. We want to book for this time next year as it just ticked all the boxes. Thank you so much.
We have stayed in many high quality barn conversions and cottages around the UK and the Old Mill Barn is amongst the very best we have stayed in for overall comfort, quality, hosting and location. Perfect for family of four with great bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms and lounge area with comfy sofa and tv to relax in. Very peaceful at night, no noise at all but easy to ready lots of points in the Cotswolds. I would highly recommended this accommodation and when we return to the area i will be looking to book again.
Green Farm House was the perfect place to be to celebrate a birthday with friends. The space is very well interior designed, we particularly liked the art, record player and the bonus of the Sonos speakers. We stayed in March and the property was cold on arrival, but over the course of that day and the first night the house heated up well and was a lot more comfortable. Perhaps if the heating was popped on before our arrival that would be have been appreciated. The location is perfect for exploring the Cotswolds, 5 minutes from Bibury, 15 minutes from Burford and 30 minutes from Chelten...more
We spent five days in Swangrove House ( four adults). The house is so special, very spacious and extremely comfortable, ( the beds and pillows excellent quality) and the views wonderful. It is secluded, with an enclosed garden, but not remote. There are many delightful villages in the vicinity, the situation is very convenient for exploring the Cotswolds. The weather was freezing cold, snow on the ground for the whole duration of our stay,, so truly a winter wonderland. The Christmas decorations, tree lights etc, in the area were so pretty, we all really appreciated being here in unusually...more
Perfect Full moon Great walks Bedding and towels delicious a happy place to hide for a few nights
On a steep slope so be mindful if staying in icy weather conditions or have mobility difficulties.small things like, kettle needed descaling and main oven didn’t work. The garden could have done with weeding and tidying at the front . Window boxes were empty and steps to front door had weeds. Overall, very cosy cottage. Good stock of games, books and dvds. Excellent wifi and the area of tetbury was pretty and I would definitely stay again
Cosy comfortable family cottage. Well stocked (kitchen, fire place, bath)! Kept clean and well presented. The location is just perfect - equidistant to Bath, Bristol and Cirencester, for someone who is looking for a long stay and have access to various spots to visit with family!
What a fabulous complex - extremely well set out to a very high standard. All on one level so very suitable for my 86 year old mother. Would definitely recommend.
We stayed at Vine Cottage for an initial 4 nights, but we loved it so much we stayed an extra two. The property is exactly what you would dream a Cotswolds cottage to be. The location is amazing and the town is absolutely beautiful. Internally, it is exquisite with lovely interiors and a fantastic kitchen and bathroom. We would love to come again!
A stunningly beautiful place - like living for a few days in an enchanted landscape. Absolutely loved it
We absolutely loved our stay at the Pineapple cottage. Beautiful Decor, A cosy lounge with an open fire and comfortable beds. The host was very thoughtful, left a bottle of wine and snacks for us. We had everything we needed, excellent service! We would certainly recommend and hope to return!
We have had a fantastic few days here. Beautiful cottage in a beautiful village. Beautifully restored and very clean and cosy. Lots of very thoughtful extras including welcome goodies, and Christmas decorations (including a filled wooden advent calendar!) We would highly recommend and hope to return.
We had a wonderful Christmas break in this beautiful house. It was very cosy, the beds were extremely comfortable and there were lovely open fires in the sitting room and the dining room. The gardens were beautiful and the house owners were very friendly, kind, thoughtful and always happy to bring extra supplies.
We stayed at Orchard View for 4 nights accommodation to be just as advertised. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. The bed was comfortable and most importantly, for an April break, the cottage was warm! We were very grateful for the extras left by the owners (bread, milk, jam and biscuits) We both love the area and would very much like to return.
Excellent little lodge, much more spacious than it looks. Everything provided for stay, also a few nice extras that were welcomed.
The Little Coach House is perfectly located in a lovely village with everything you need within walking distance - The Talkhouse pub serving excellent food, especially the vegan pie! ; great village shop and excellent farm shop - plus beautiful country walks, yet only 10 mins from the Thornhill Park & Ride for easy access to Oxford and all the city has to offer. The cottage is lovingly and thoughtfully maintained by Carla and her team with all one could need for a comfortable stay plus welcome goodies including fresh milk from their farm shop - we felt at home immediately, a fantastic place t...more
This cottage was amazing! Really clean, cosy and has everything you need. Perfect location just outside of Painswick. I would defiantly recommend staying here !
An exceptional property which was an absolute delight to stay in over the Christmas period. We wanted for nothing! Lights and heating on when we arrived plus a gorgeous lit Christmas tree. Wonderfully spacious and well equipped throughout. It was such a treat for our family .. we sorely wished for a longer stay!
Beautiful place perfectly located in the heart of stow. Very county home feel and faultless. Will be staying next time. P.s. only 3 for customer service due to not using/needing, so unable to rate/score
Hillview Hideaway was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. We loved the Christmas tree! Everything was brand new, clean and very comfortable. The hot tub was great and the location was perfect for walks and a lovely pub nearby. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing weekend
We have had the good fortune to spend the last 3 months in this beautiful cottage with stunning views over the garden and rolling Cotswold countryside beyond. The perfect temporary home for us - clean, warm and peaceful. The owners have been amazing and so very helpful. I would not hesitate in recommending this as a place to stay.
Lovely house for a weekend in Stratford. Modern, clean, comfortable and only 10 minute walk to town.
We stayed at Orchard Cottage recently and even though we didn't get to enjoy the weekend & house how we should have - we had a hospital emergency - I would 100% recommend this to anyone for a weekend away. The house was perfect, lots of space and had everything you needed. The location was great and easy to get to anywhere in The Cotswolds. Also, the host could not have been more kind/ caring when finding out about our emergency, they even offered a room in their own house when we had to check out which was just so lovely and meant a lot.
Superb weekend family break at this stunning property minutes from Winchcombe High Street. Set behind private gates, this quirky ‘loft’ was spotlessly clean on arrival with top end fixtures, fittings and appliances throughout. Lovely garden patio/play area if you stay here during the summer as well, too cold for us at the start of March unfortunately! Pleased to say no negatives at all, but worth noting it is somewhere you need to drive to/from each time you go out, it’s close to Winchcombe but too far to walk (for us anyway!) Great base to explore Cotswolds, 30-35 minutes max fro...more
Really lovely stay, location is fantastic and the apartment is great. Parking is easier at the back of the property on the rod with the park and the hospital. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all fantastic, great space. The kitchen has all the useful things you might need. Bedrooms are decent, though the mattress on the king size bed is quite hard. Water pressure in the showers is ok, but not great. All in all a really good stay and lovely apartment.
We needed a well earned rest and to shut out the rest of the world. The Loft was idyllic, it’s peaceful, romantic, spacious. We really could not have asked for more, but we got it! Our hosts Sue and Phil were wonderful. Thank you both. We shall certainly be back. Karen and Dave.
Had a great stay at Barns Lee. Easy access and top of the range amenities. Owners are easy to contact and happy to help whenever. Highly recommend.
Yew Tree Cottage is a wonderful, spacious and beautifully renovated holiday cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this gorgeous cottage with fabulous living and kitchen/dining areas, off street parking, and we loved the fireplace!! Located in a friendly small village with a great local pub, nearby to many 'must see' villages. We definitely recommend this holiday cottage. Communications with the owner were always very quick and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!
Stunning house. Beautiful decor throughout- can’t emphasise enough just how lovely every bit of the house is. We stayed for a weekend as a family to celebrate my 30th birthday. All the rooms were so lovely and everyone slept well. Super comfy beds. House is immaculately clean. Kitchen has everything you need. Loved the huge dining table in the larger living area- comfortably fit everyone (10 adults and 3 children). Enjoyed the games barn outside to play pool and table football. Hot tub lovely and warm. Great communication throughout. Couldn’t recommend more- a really amazing stay. Thank you!
A fine place to stay in the Cotswolds. Beautiful location and the house is luxuriously fitted. Only points to note are the fact that bedroom 3 really is for kids not adults ( this is actually clear enough in the details) and that you may need to buy extra paper products ( toilet roll and paper towels) during your stay.
Another fantastic stay in Barebones Farm. The house is very confortable and really has everything we needed within 150 yard walk of the doorstep. Special mention to the owner Liz who is very communicative and helpful, replying very quickly to all emails, organising cleaners etc…We will be back and I highly recommend this property.
We enjoyed an amazing stay at Teagles Cottage in Stow-on the Wold at the weekend. With 4 bedrooms (2 x king, 1 x twin and a single), 2 bathrooms and separate toilet downstairs there was ample of room for 6 of us to sleep. The lounge area was spacious and the kitchen had every utensil you could wish for! The property was spotless throughout and created a home from home environment. Teagles Cottage is literally on the doorstep of the main village where enjoyed visiting a couple of the local pubs and enjoyed a lovely meal at the local Indian restaurant. We all highly recommend this property, you...more
From the moment we arrived we felt at home in this property. It was everything we wanted and more. The host was so lovely and helpful. Clean, comfortable and the location was amazing. So close to the most beautiful village of Broadway. Would recommend this property to anyone!
Lovely cottage in fabulous location. We had everything we needed.Very well equipped and spotlessly clean.
We originally booked a stay Monday to Friday for me and my husband, 3 children and our dog. We extended for another week and the accommodation was perfect for us and the weather was glorious. Lots of space and an enclosed garden meant we were very comfortable and didn’t need to worry about the dog escaping. The kids loved the tennis court and there’s lots to do nearby or a short drive away. Try spot on the wake, nearby water sports centre it was fab. Phil was very helpful during our stay.
Sycamore apartment is spacious, well laid outclean, warm and comfortable. Great shower. Bit let down by kitchen equipment, needs: better saucepans for ceramic hob, non scratch utensils for non stick pans, microwavable dishes. Cutlery and crockery matched well but a teapot and some "normal" sized mugs would be good. We found the random pictures in the property quite odd. Loved that recycling bins well labelled, rare in self catering holiday let's! In all, a great place for a mini break.
Had a great weekend in Teasal cottage. Good location beautifully presented. Would recommend to others.
Perfect weekend break for 4 friends and a dog. The location was in a beautiful rural setting and the cottage very well equipped with everything we needed.
Lovely stay at Forsythia cottage for 2 nights. As described it is a small cosy cottage perfect for a short stay in the heart of the Cotswolds. My only improvement would be the master room mattress, as it seems to sink into the middle, apart from that everything was perfect.
This was the perfect welcoming cottage in a great location to explore The Cotswolds. Spotlessly clean and well thought out for short breaks or longer stays, it was stylishly furnished, but also very comfortable. Would highly recommend for couples and smaller families at any time of the year.
A short stay to celebrate a birthday. The property was perfect in terms of location, amenity and overall comfort Glad to recommend to others A perfect bolthole Thanks
Browns Cottage is a gorgeous and extremely well maintained home. It has beautiful interiors of interest and comfort. The location is excellent with amenities on your doorstep and the train station only 10 mins away.
I would definitely recommend a stay in the Bull Pen. We had a wonderful, relaxing break with accommodation which felt like home. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating if we needed them. The location was beautiful and a short drive to local amenities... we really didn't want to leave. We had some lovely walks in the area and even had a guided tour by the owners dogs which was a wonderful addition to our break! We would love to stay again in the future.
Really lovely pre-Christmas weekend with my sister and our two adult daughters. Brilliant location, less than 20 minutes easy drive into Bath, yet felt like we were out in the countryside at Old Stables with its livery yard and working farm. Easy check-in and out via key in lockbox, all worked well, welcome milk, wine and mince pies and a plentiful supply of tea, coffee and sugar in the kitchen - everything we needed for our short stay. Friendly but unobtrusive hosts, available via mobile if needed, living on site and kindly offering a tour of the livery yard and farm - but we had a full we...more
Colebrook Cottage was excellent. Wonderfully comfortable, beautifully furnished and an excellent location. We ate at the local pub twice - both times we enjoyed the food and would recommend. Road links were good and visits to Cirencester and Hidcote proved easy.
We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The only thing that could be improved is signage. We went down the wrong turning as we followed the satnav and it added about an hour on our drive! As it was all back roads, cows and sheep! No signage. If there was a sign at the entrance of the road it would have saved a lot of stress. The cottage is great, warm and cosy. Beautiful surroundings. The bathroom is amazing with underfloor heating. To eat you need to drive. So I wouldn't recommend it if you were hoping to travel there by train unless you didn't mind taxis to supermarkets or pubs, ect. We would ...more
We all thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the owners are very helpful. The Stable are well situated with great views warm and comfortable. highly recommended.
Lovely weekend away in the heart of the Cotswolds. Wonderful house full of character with all the mod cons. Couldn’t fault it.
We stayed as a 3 generation family and all loved the stay. The kids enjoyed seeing the animals, with the chickens peering through the kitchen door and the donkeys being walked past to the field next door. We were all impressed with the conversion of the barn and the space it provided. The snug being slightly aside from the main living room was great to give the kids some space, with their own TV and yet for them to be close by and included in the wider group. Having a bathroom per bedroom was also great when 10 people are getting ready in the morning! We would happily return to s...more
We had a lovely time in this beautifully presented, cosy cottage in the wonderful town of Burford. The super king size bed is the most comfortable that I have ever slept in. Everything you need for the perfect Cotswolds break.
The cottage was beautiful and well equipped. There was everything you could need and more. The location was ideal for visiting lots if lovely places , yet it was in a peaceful setting.
Wonderful and very well equipped property in a great location. Stairgate provided which was a bonus for our young family too.
This was a special weekend away for four friends and the cottage provided the perfect home from home. Priory Cottage is beautifully and thoughtfully appointed and we needed for nothing and everything is of the upmost quality. We met the owner on our arrival who was very welcoming and helpful. Inside we had a generous hamper of goodies and essentials in the fridge. We settled in, having lit a fire in the stove, and relaxed on the enormous squidgy sofa. On Saturday night we were going to go to a nearby pub for dinner but we ended up wanting to enjoy the cottage as much as possible and we had ...more
This was the perfect house to celebrate a family event. We came for my Mum’s 60th birthday with extended family and it’s ideal for groups, with huge social areas and bedrooms tucked away so you’re not on top of each other. Stunning house, beautiful scenery and really has the wow factor. Everyone in the group had such a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone, all saying it was the best house in the UK they’d stayed in.
Lovely, well decorated house. Nice garden. Very comfortable beds. Quiet location. Good selection of kitchen items. Would stay here again.
Fantastic and lots of great food places surrounding the property. The house is really well equipped and cozy.
5 star experience in this beautiful cottage super comfortable and well curated in all the small details. Super racommended!
The Stables at Freams Farm was the perfect location for relaxing, walking and exploring the Cotswolds. The accomodation has a living area, which is spacious and at the same time homely. This , together with the location, was the main reason for booking the Stables and it didn't disappoint. Situated away from the road it made for a peaceful and chilled stay. All our walks were straight from the front door to well marked footpaths. The Cotswolds Way is minutes from The Stables with several good route options. Sue and Peter are great hosts and easily contactable. Highly recommended
We had a whole family holiday with seven siblings and their partners and found Lodge Barn to be absolutely spot on. The location is beautiful and quiet as well as being very close to all amenities. The accommodation itself is even better than described. The kitchen facilities are excellent and there is an ample supply of crockery, cutlery and glasses and we had a very generous welcome pack provided for the arrival. The layout of the house is brilliant with the master bedroom having spectacular views and most of the bedrooms being en suite. The facilities enabled our group to all enjoy ...more
We booked a weekend retreat with some friends and we have had an awesome time. The house that we went to and rented for the weekend was brilliant very big and spacious and also had a bonus wood burner, hot tub which was great although it was therefore difficult to manage the temperature. Overall we had an amazing experience and I would recommend to any of my other friends.
Barn End is simply gorgeous! We had a wonderful weekend - the house is set in a small and tranquil Cotswolds village which is easily accessible. Set away from the main road, the property feels safe and secure with a private garden. We were really impressed with how immaculately clean the house was, the quality of the furnishings and the little details that have gone into the house. There are great communal spaces and the kitchen is very well equipped. We would definitely recommend this property - it's not too far from places like Chipping Norton, Moreton in Marsh and Daylesford...more
We loved the combine shed, very comfortable, lovely walks and places to eat close by, we definitely will be back so much more to see .
This was the second time my friends and I have stayed in this cottage. It’s spacious and comfortable and in an excellent location for exploring the Cotswolds. There was a supply of tea, coffee & Prosecco all of which were very welcome. Both of our visits have been in November. We’d like to return again in the spring or summer to make the most of the pleasant outdoor space.
I booked Stable Cottage alongside Lakeside House for a family stay while we attended a wedding at nearby Old Gore by Yard. It's a great place next to the Inn at Fossebridge and walking distance into the meandering village of Chedworth. Beautiful Cotswold location with nearby Bourton on the Water and Chedworth Roman Villa. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay in the cottage. I would only point out that the 3rd bedroom is bunk beds in what feels like a corridor to the master bedroom - not a lot of privacy for my 11 year old granddaughter, though she slept well and was happy w...more
Lovely cosy cottage, perfect for a quiet birthday celebration. Ideal for those wanting to bag the highest point in Gloucestershire at nearby Cleeve Common.
Beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Property is decorated in a traditional way and to a high standard. Very cosy during this recent snowy weather. Highly recommended.
The cottage is in a very good location in a quiet village which is close to main roads. Shops and restaurants within 3-4 miles. Beautifully decorated and well kitted out. Quality appliances in the kitchen and plenty of crockery etc good heating and hot water, plus open fire if needed. Any issues were responded to quickly and overall was excellent accommodation and customer service.
Booked a two day stay at very short notice with out our usual research but was really pleasantly surprised at the quality of this property. Very spacious and easily accommodated the four of us. It was nicely located to explore the Cotswolds and had The Fleece Inn located at a walkable distance serving great food. It seemed busy all the time so booking advisable. All in all a great stay and will definitely hope to revisit Whippet Cottage when we can
A very cosy important for some on level barn cottage. Plenty of wood for fire, very quiet and lovely welcome basket
Loved it 100%. Loved the welcome from the dogs and cat - made the holiday for grown-up kids that have different interests but bond on animals. Perfect base to meet up with family and explore the Bath and Bristol area.
Barn is in a very tranquil area with beautiful scenery all around. There was a book of recommendations which we found very useful!
My partner and I stayed at Boddington's Barn at Norton Grounds for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The barn is in a beautiful setting of a working farm, but at no point does this ever interrupt your stay. The site is quiet and secluded and you will truly feel special and like a home from home. We found this warm and cosy to sit beside the crackling log burner. All the kitchen facilities were ample for our requirements and there are good choices for eating out in the nearby villages. We would recommend The King's Arms in nearby Mickleton, just a short drive and possibly within walki...more
My family and I (including baby and dog) spent a great February weekend in this tastefully decorated, well equipped cottage. The owner provided a box of toys for the baby and even helped with the delivery of a surprise bunch of flowers for my birthday. The cottage is in a great location for visiting Bath and Lacock and we enjoyed a good Sunday lunch in the village pub, The Catherine Wheel. There is very good village shop and a lovely walks from the village in this beautiful part of The Cotswolds.
We enjoyed a week at Church Cottage in Burford and delighted in the cosy cottage, fantastic secluded garden and convenience to Burford High Street. Be aware of steep staircase, that was our only concern. It is located right beside St. John the Baptist Church with fascinating history and great Cafe 15 in Warwick Hall.
We had a great stay here. We were a party of 8 including 2 children. Lovely accommodation and excellent kitchen. We really enjoyed our time at Gladstone Cottage.
We stayed here for 2 nights while we attended a wedding in the area. Our party consisted of my husband and myself. Our daughter, husband and 6 month old baby. Accommodation was superb in every aspect. Clean cosy and welcoming when we arrived. Good quality travel cot and high chair for our grandaughter. Fresh eggs, cake, coffee pods milk to enjoy as well. Very pleased.
A fabulous property where we immediately felt at home . Perfect size for us and with all the mod cons you need to feel absolutely at home as soon as you step over the threshold . Bolthole Retreats we’re very professional , making the whole experience a very pleasant one . Sad to return from Coln St Aldwyns , an idyllic Cotswolds village with loads to do locally - but don’t tell too many people … We would hate to do Bolthole Retreats out of work but it’s so nice we would buy the place tomorrow !! Thank you so much !
Lovell cottage is a well thought out holiday property. It was ideal to bring my 86 yr old mum with its’ downstairs bedroom and en suite.
Wow, what a wonderful cottage with everything we needed for a few days away. Set in the old part of the village surrounded by equally beautiful cottages, church and The Fleece pub. We enjoyed an evening of folk music at the pub where we found everyone friendly and welcoming.
This is a lovely holiday house for families. We were a family of 4 generations staying at Hawthorn Cottage, and were sorry that we couldn't stay longer. The house is well maintained and spacious, and located in a lovely village. We loved the open plan design, and the bedrooms were large and nicely decorated. None of us had been to this village before, and found it to be a very attractive village.
A very cosy, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean cottage. A great base to explore the Cotswolds
PRO's: * Located down a quiet side road on the outskirts of town, next to the river with 2 dedicated parking spaces (located on the drive of the neighbouring property not the ones beside the river as shown on the Bolthole Retreats website). * Just a short walk (uphill) to the town. Malmesbury is quaint and quiet with a small selection of independent shops, cafes and pubs (we'd recommend the Smoking Dog and the cafe in the abbey), there is also a Waitrose and Aldi nearby so you can stock up. * Ideal for country walks with the dog or jumping in the car to visit nearby towns and attractions, e...more
This house exceeding all expectations. The decor is not only well appointed but incredibly comfy. There was plenty of wood provided for the fireplace, the kitchen was well equipped, lots of great books and beautiful artwork, Katie was so kind and readily available when I had a question. And the location is amazing- less than a minute to the pub and great breakfast/lunch spot. It was everything I dreamed a Cotswolds getaway would be. I will definitely be back!
Locks Cottage did not disappoint. The house was beautiful with lots of character and decorated to a high spec. The house was a lot bigger than the photographs suggested and the views were stunning! I would definitely recommend staying here and exploring the beautiful countryside and local towns and villages. If there was one suggestion I would make it would that there weren't enough serving dishes and serving spoons.
The property was very comfortable and beautifully furnished we like to go away for a pre Christmas break so it would have been nice if there had been a tree but other than that no complaints
Comfortable stay, owner was accomodating and allowed late checkout, a week before the visit, appreciated, Name escapes me and for that apologise Heated floors and jacuzzi well worth it
Everything was first class apart from the beds. All of the beds were hard and we all left with bad backs.
Ideal comfortable property and location for a 2 night stay for 4 of us in the lovely market town of Winchcombe. Will be back to stay with our dog next time!
The location of the Sudeley Holiday Cottages is superb with access to many footpaths, Sudeley Castle (when it is open)and Winchcombe with its lovely shops and pubs. We went for a magical walk across the snowy fields. The people at Boltholes Retreats were extremely helpful and very quick to respond to a question I had.
A beautiful, cosy cottage set in the picturesque village of Blockley. The views from the house and garden were spectacular and the property was comfortable and well-equipped. It would be perfect for two couples and a child as the third bedroom leads out of the second bedroom. There is off-street parking as well as parking on the street. We enjoyed the pastries at Blockley cafe and a very good meal at the Great Western Arms pub. It was a quick drive to the nearby villages of Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-on-the Marsh and we also did the walk to Batsford Arboretum and Sezincote. I would recomme...more
We loved our stay in the Granary - it was a great spot for walks with our pooch, so close to the river and there were lots of good places to get dinners (although opt for collection or know your instructions well for delivery as we ended up on a rescue mission!). There is also a big Tesco near Evesham which is only a quick drive up the road, so you can pick up everything else you need. The kitchen area looked very clean and most of the utensils/cutlery also looked clean. Besides quite a few cobwebs everywhere else also seemed clean too! And cleaning supplies were left, which was really han...more
Spent a wonderful 2 nights at Mayfly Lodge. The location and setting are amazing and the Lodge is gorgeous. Wonderful little touches make the difference and I would definitely stay again. Just loved it.
Fantastic spacious house with tonnes of room for our party of 9. Dead easy to find (postcode deposits you at the door) and we'll located for Blenheim, Bicester, Oxford etc. Wonderfully decorated throughout, fully equipped - just wonderful.
A fabulous location and a fantastic property. We had a wonderful few days away to celebrate a big birthday which included a private chef. The upstairs is luxurious and the kitchen a treat to use. Great use was made of the hot tub by the younger members of the party whilst others relaxed in the spacious lounge in front of the log burner, watching wild deer pass by the window. Don't want to pick but... Some things could do with a little TLC, the dining chairs for example. Plus additional seating for the island would have been great, it only seats 6. A coffee machine is a must these days, we m...more
The location of the property was very good and easy to find. The layout was compact and bijou and had everything needed for the weekend. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a day walking and the bbq worked a treat. It was within easy walking distance of Hayles Farm Shop and cafe which is well worth a visit. Overall a great place to stay and would highly recommend it. Thanks
A beautiful house in a lovely location. The house was spacious and very comfortable, very well equipped . Situated in an excellent location with many beautiful places to visit in the area. The hot tub was a real bonus too. We visited as a family of 10 which included 3 children and an infant (our grandchildren) and would highly recommend it .
Overall a good property in a lovely location. Kitchen is a little tired and there was a shortage of implements, bring your own corkscrew, foil, and kitchen roll. Aside from this, the property is perfect for a short stay.
Great stay at Woodside. Loved the games room and all the facilities and fabulous welcome pack on arrival. Thanks very much!
What a fabulous place Woodfields is for a family celebration. We wanted somewhere special to celebrate our twin daughters’ 30th birthday and Woodfields did not disappoint. The rooms were beautifully decorated with lots of interesting artwork and great lighting. The lounge was spacious and comfortable, perfect for relaxing in the evening and playing games. The dining room was perfect for the special occasion meals we had planned. The bedrooms were well furnished with plenty of storage and the bathrooms had plentiful supplies of toiletries and fluffy towels. We enjoyed exploring the thriv...more
Beautiful, very quiet and extremely charming cottage in ancient building with all modern conveniences. There are paths through the adjacent farmland, very few people around. Close to both Oxford and Cotswold towns. I do recommend that the host provide detailed written driving directions, as this property can not be found on Apple or Google maps. Also, if you have never been to the Cotswolds, the local roads are very narrow and scary to drive. Get a SMALL rental car to make it easier. But it is otherwise a perfect place to stay - We have done many vacation rentals, and this is the most uniqu...more
The cottage is very comfortable and perfectly located just a few steps away from the center of the village with its shops, pubs and restaurants.
Cosy, comfortable and clean cottage in a picturesque location, a perfect weekend break , couldnt have wished for more
We had a lovely stay here as a group of old Uni friends who haven’t got together for a long time. Great: lots of parking, big table in the kitchen (we spent most of our time here) lots of fridge space, very pretty, clean, 3 bathrooms and lovely comfy beds. Good walking. Lovely housekeeper Not perfect: lounge is a bit small vs number of bedrooms. The Pantry is closed so details could do with updating We would highly recommend and had a lovely stay here, enjoying time together both in the house and walking in the lovely countryside.
Our arrival at the cottage were met by gasps from my wife and friend. Furnishings and space strike you the most. Beautiful surroundings, with fields and houses dotted about in the lane. Michelle & Robert (caretakers) were called in the morning as the heating had not come on. The weather, totally unexpected turned rather chilly. They were brilliant and arrived very quickly to rectify the issue, purchasing a good supply of logs etc. as well. If you want peace and quiet together with comfort Westerleigh Cottage does it all. Kilkeney Inn is a fab place to eat, amazing chef.
Six of us enjoyed our stay at Suncroft and would definitely stay again in this charming and well equipped cottage! We missed the walking suggestions (not in file) but managed a couple of walks through the local countryside. The cottage was charming and well equipped and great for the two dogs but we felt the pet ‘fee’ high at £40 per pooch! We’d love to return!
My stay at Barndown was just too short. I felt relaxed and safe wishing I could’ve stayed longer. I appreciated the recent updates to the kitchen and bathroom still keeping the charm of this old farm cottage. I could see that there are continued improvements in progress. The gentle mooing cows were an added bonus. The owner stopped by later in the day to greet me to see if anything was needed. I felt so grateful to have found this unique place to stay.
Everything as advertised. Great location. House presented clean and tidy with all that was needed for our short stay.
The accommodation was charming - very comfortable and clean. Perfect location and Winchcombe is a lovely town with great pubs. The dog walk from the property was stunning!
Quirky, cosy and comfortable stay, with easy parking and access to Bibury. Well equipped and easy to use facilities, and the spiral staircase is a novelty!
Very clean, comfortable and spacious cottage whilst visiting family locally. Have stayed before and will be back again!! Although Sudeley Castle was closed this time we were able to go on some lovely walks and enjoyed a delicious meal at the local pub the White Hart.
The property was nicely presented and in a great location for us. It was well equipped and had everything needed for a self-catered cottage. A really pretty garden and the open fire was used each evening and gave a nice cosy feel. There are a couple of things that have reduced the scores which, if fixed, would have made this a first class place to stay. We would recommend the cottage to others but the following could be addressed: - the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied since the last guests - there were cobwebs around a number of the curtain poles - there was a large stain on the ca...more
Booked just the day before , I travelled alone with my dog. Very efficient service Plenty of information before arrival which helped with what to take and what facilities there are. Really helpful guide to download Lots and lots of walks! Accommodation was pristine All the necessary essentials in the property eg tea/coffee/biscuits/ washing liquid/ cloths etc etc A great touch to have a starter kit it really helped me as such a late booking Location is excellent, just a few hundred yards to the pub and Winchcombe centre. Definitely stay again
Lovely location, but I would say that as I live a few doors away and was staying here while we were having work done! Cottage laid out lovely and nicely decorated. Very clean. Bed so comfortable. A nice touch to be left lovely biscuits and wine. Thankyou. Gteat that dogs are allowed.
Great stay - Jack Tannin will be back and he will not hesitate to bring more guests with him next time
This was our first time in the Cotswolds and it couldn't have been more perfect. The cottage is so cute and cozy. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. Broadway is a wonderful town to walk around in and enjoy the beautiful setting. Restaurants are solid and shoppes are nice. Couldn't have asked for a better cottage to stay in.
South Winds is an attractive property on the outskirts of Bourton on the Water. It is well appointed but the kitchen wear, cups, cutlery etc. needs sorting out and in some cases renewing. There were aspects of the house that could have been better cleaned. The bedrooms were comfortable and once we had adjusted the heating , warm. It would be nice to have some shampoo supplied as there was only body wash in the bathrooms. Overall, a very good stay.
having spent a family xmas in Rowan House, we found it very nicely decorated for the season, furnished to a high standard, warm, with ample room for eight people and the kitchen and its contents allowed us to cook to a high standard. We enjoyed a very happy stay.
This is a beautiful old Cotswold property in a stunning village setting. We were a group of 6 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs staying for a weekend catch-up. The property provided everything we needed including warmth given the -5 overnight temperatures. Lovely access to countryside for dog walks including riverside walk to Bibury. Handy village stores. Quite expensive for two nights but appreciate we were paying a Cotswold premium. Would absolutely stay again.
The only thing we would like to se changed next time is the silicone in the shower. We think it just has to be renewed. Also the shower is leaking. Apart from that: a wonderful experience. The place was nicely warm when we arrived. We felt absolutely welcome. We certainly recommend this place to our friends.
Welcoming owners just next door showed us where everything was and the best places to dog walk, including a large field on the farm so secure. The property was beautifully decorated for Christmas and they even lent us their rolling pin so we could make our annual gingerbread house! Beautiful wood burner in the lounge, with a giant TV for those festive season films. Useful utility room for muddy boots and storage. Kitchen small but everything you need for a holiday.
Initially disappointed in the customer service at Bolthole We had a couple of issues with our supposed weekend away. To find someone in our property on arrival. To find the property was then not fully available to us until the next day and also trouble with the hot water not working which my HUSBAND actually sorted with a plumber over the phone. Bolthole spoke to the owner and it was 'apparently, resolved quickly they aren't prepared to compensate in any way. We paid good money for a property with a hot tub it was the only reason we booked it. We could not use this the first night as it wasn'...more
We had a great week in a fantastic house. Refurbished with love and there is a very pleasant atmosphere. At the front the main street of the village and at the back the green hills, it couldn't be better! All the cottages we have rented from Bolthole Retreats so far, have been beautiful and have definitely met, or exceeded our expectations The friendly English people complete the perfect picture! Thanks for a great week and see you soon!
Lovely place to stay. Very handy location for walking and visiting other places in the Cotswolds but also close to the town centre making going out to eat easy. Weather could have been better!
Great spot for exploring Cotswolds or for Cheltenham. Clean, comfortable and Hannah very helpful. Pub next door serves good food snd farm shop is excellent. Check your phone coverage as not all networks are great
Fantastic cottage with great jacuzzi for relaxing. Unfortunately pool was not available. Certainly a warm place for a weekend
This was our 3rd stay at the cottage, perfect for a family weekend stay, very clean, brilliantly equipped.
What a wonderful place to stay! The cottage was just what we needed in order to see Winchcombe and it's nearby villages. We're particularly impressed by Winchcombe as it was a place we held so dear in our hearts, having visited it not so long ago. Family have lived there and we wanted to return to see it all again. We love how the cottage allows you to enter the Castle grounds and you can wander off into the fields nearby, such as walks along the Isbourne River. Lots of memories and lots of fun, we will return next year. Thank you to the housekeepers who keep these cottages in pristine co...more
This is the most beautiful house we've ever stayed in! The house is beautifully renovated and decorated. It had everything we needed, and more. Very spacious, rooms for everyone - we travelled with three kids. The garden is huge, and well equipped. We enjoyed breakfasts at the dinner outside, we lit a small fire in the evening in the fire pit, the kids loved playing outside. There's a small crook just behind the house. Beautiful kitchen, very nice to cook in. Cosy living room and family rooms. Loved the books and games. The attic is very sweet. Great to have two bathrooms with both bath ...more
Lakeside is a beautiful cottage with large bedrooms and living area and a lovely wood burning fire. We stayed over Christmas and the house was festooned in lights making it a really magical experience. The owners lived close by and could not have been more helpful. We would highly recommend the property.
We had such a lovely stay. The cottage is well stocked with just about everything you will need. John was an absolute gem.... we called on him a couple of times to rescue us, e.g. trotting off to town and realising we left a fan heater on!!! He is very fussy with his bedding, which smelled magnificent. Thank you so much John and Pam for a fab stay!
Brilliant location in central Bourton on the Water so easy 5 minute walks to good restaurants and local shops. We holidayed as a family in late November and had a great time even if the weather was sometimes inclement, in the summer it would be fabulous as the garden is well set up and secluded for outdoor dining. House is well equipped over three floors with bags of Cotswold character and it has off street parking which is a real bonus. Would happily return to this one.
Nice cottage for a short stay. We needed a longer stay so stayed intermittently instead. No real problem with cottage. Stairs steep and low beam going into top bedroom. Bathroom small but Bolthole Retreats were unhelpful following our mistake as to the size of the property. Being new to rentals we relied on photos and not floor plan. Found a spacious and well appointed AirBNB instead. In retrospect cottage was overpriced.
We had the most wonderful few days in Oldbury Barn - beautiful setting and wonderful barn. It allowed all six of us to relax with everything you need in a home from home environment- Highly recommended x
Stayed for Cheltenham week, perfect base in a great village. Cottage has everything that you need (except providing the winners for the races). Highly recommend
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lady Jane Grey cottage. The cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Only a short walk to the village centre and very Handy for the racing at Cheltenham. From Pat Steve Paul Alistair and Hannah.
Lovely stay with girlfriends. Great location. Loved the castle and town. Nice shops friendly people. Cottage well equipped, clean and comfy.
Spent Christmas here with the family and it was perfect. Rural location with beautiful views and many walks nearby. Great spot for exploring the Cotswolds.
Very quaint cottage. Cold on arrival, heating would have been nice being on. Trying to eat with the cutlery supplied, well let’s just say normal knifes and forks would have been nice. Bedrooms could have done with additional pillows, very flat. Didn’t feel dirty, but cobwebs were very visible on walls etc and few fixes needed (hand towel rails in bathroom, both clinging on for dead life) Just needs a little loving and attention to detail. Nice touch with few welcome items.
A comfortable and characterful property situated in a quiet cluster of properties, very much in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by fields and woodland providing stunning, on the doorstep walks! Highlight during the day was meeting a herd of 15 deer in the woodland. At night, with zero light pollution whatsoever, the clear night skies were breath taking, including some pretty impressive shooting stars! The log burner was a welcome warming focus point, although it would have been even better if the glass was clean which would have allowed the full beauty of the fire to be on show, rather tha...more
Perfect spot for a little Twixtmas break. Winchcombe in walking distance with its lovely pubs; had some great food. Very relaxing stay
Monument Cottage is located in the heart of Churchill. The kitchen is lovely with island bi-folding patio doors and wood burner. The sitting room is inhospitable with poor lighting, no working fire, sparsely furnished, cold & depressing. Bedrooms are nice with the master bed very comfortable and with good bed linen. The only bathroom is dated, bad lighting and poor heating. Generally the cottage was cold with small electric radiators in each rooms. The cottage was good value but apart from the kitchen and bedrooms, the property could do with some money spent on it to update it and make the liv...more
The property was a lovely period cottage with lovely features. The kitchen was large and spacious. The views around the property are gorgeous. Easy access to Sudeley Castle and Winchcombe. The temperature whilst there dropped to -4C we managed to keep house comfortable for duration for young newborn. If you are looking for accommodation that exceeds the norm then this is place to come. Winchcome is place that has a great deal of history and worth a visit, suggest avoid taking car in as some roads are very narrow.
Nice and comfortable house for a large family. The place had everything you needed, including Smart TV with a good Internet connection, fully ecquiped kitchen. Very good location if you travel by car.
Honeysuckle Cottage is a cute farm worker's cottage from the mid 1800's built over 3 levels. The upstairs bedrooms were comfortable & had lovely views of Blockley village. The lounge & the bathroom on street level we're also comfortable, although the heated towel rail was not functioning and the bath was quite high to get in and out of. The lower ground had a charming dining room overlooking the back garden with views over open fields. The kitchen was well appointed but being built into the back of the slope had no external windows and had a very unpleasant musty smell which was worse when the...more
A spacious bohemian house which was very well appointed. There was a lovely efficient log burner in the open plan kitchen/dining/sitting area and a generous supply of logs. The beds were very comfortable with good quality bedding. The house is in a perfect position for walkers as The Oxfordshire Way starts at the end of the drive. A perfect place for adults and children.
Our stay was overall a good one, the property grounds are lovely, as is the village and good food at The Sherborne Arms just 10 minutes easy walk away. We were two families with kids, so we enjoyed playing badminton, football, the gas bbq and board games. The property is a little on the tired side, not as fresh at the pictures but it’s still perfectly fine, could do with more fridge space for drinks. The property is adjoining a small house to one side, which we didn’t mind but were just conscious we were bbqing outside someone else’s window. It’s not obvious from the photos. On arriv...more
We enjoyed our stay at Bay Tree Cottage, which has a great location close to the main street of the village and all it has to offer. The cottage was easy to locate and access, and we were able to park our car directly out front each day. Naturally being a historical cottage, some aspects should be considered, such as steep stairs and low headroom in doorways, but these are not unusual for a property of this age.
The location is great with added bonus of free parking Stow House is a beautiful well kept property with a lovely little garden Spotlessly clean Comfortable beds with nice linens Everything you need is there House is lovely and warm plus plenty of logs for the wood burner For a 70th birthday it was the perfect place for a family gathering
It’s a lovely cottage in a beautiful village. My only recommendation for improvement would be that the agent should leave a welcome pack such as toiletries for guests, milk and bread, bin bags etc. It wouldn’t be much of an expense but would make a more welcoming experience.
Location and close proximity to array of restaurants and other eateries along with Antique shops was excellent, although located on very busy main road. Facilities very good. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property for a short or long break
Set in the quaint area of Rodborough, this is the most idyllic cottage. From the moment you step inside the front door you can feel the warmth of love and attention that has gone into making this the most comfortable stay you could wish for. Rose cottage is finished to the highest standard. All modern fixtures and fittings that are in-keeping with the look and period of the place. The cleanliness is exceptional. I had the most peaceful sleep in the most comfortable bed. What was an added bonus was waking up to the sound of wildlife. I would recommend staying here and I would return in a heartb...more
The property itself is lovely. Ideal for a family, but a little small for two families totalling five with two dogs. The location is quiet and rural, but no shops for miles, so plan ahead. Great walks on the doorstep. Whilst described as dog friendly there were a number of conditions which you only get once paid in full. Would be ideal to know these beforehand, as it could influence your decision. The £100 cleaning fee seems steep, as I wouldn't say the property was £100 clean. There were certainly areas which could have been a lot cleaner for that sort of money, but we just got on with it...more
We had a lovely week here. Very roomy cottage with a modern kitchen. Nice to have your own outside space too. Freindly and helpful owners. We'll be back!
Lots of restaurants and pubs to choose from. Great access to main and country roads. Lots of sites from country market days to Roman ruins and tea rooms. Great location.
Lovely property great space!! Really special place to stay. Only issue was the master bed was unbareable to sleep in. I have reported this so may be sorted other than that equipment in kitchen was great, the housekeep was so easy to get hold of with any questions.
A wonderful stay at Meadow View (we stayed next door at Meadow View 2 this time last year). Beautiful furnishings and lovely location. A small thing - it would be good if you would install a shelf in the shower as it makes it very tricky without one especially for those less mobile/ pregnant etc (I see at least one other guest requested this in a review a year or so ago). But overall a very pleasant stay, thank you.
Absolutely perfect in every way … beautiful Christmas tree totally unexpected and card too wishing us Happy Christmas. We also had small issue with boiler on xmas day and gentleman was with us within 15 mins and sorted this was our second visit to the Estate … we will def be back again!
A glorious weekend with excellent facilities with SO much to do within touching distance. We took both cottages for 3 couples and a young child in a cot. The highlight was the garden complete with BBQ and space for a toddler to roam free. We also loved the general standard across the property and the eco credentials (heat pump, eco toiletries etc). Everything was clean and in a good state of repair save for a few damp stains here and there and the odd bit of crumbling paint. We visited Cotswold Farm Park on a rainy day which was great for all ages when accompanying a child, with suprisingly ...more
What a treat to arrive to a warm fire, beautifully decorated Christmas tree, wine and cake. Bluebell is a beautiful cottage. Magnificent views. My only negative is that if you are wishing to self-cater, the crockery and cutlery is quite limited.
Milliner's Barn was an excellent, well designed property, offering plenty of space for four occupants. Consequently, it provided a very good base from which to explore this part of the Cotswolds.
Attending wedding of niece at Norton Grounds needed a olsce for extended North East family to stay. Great place only 3 miles from venue, roomy, clean, comfortable with all facilities as listed. No problems ay all. What 3 words: sprinkle.custodial.outwit
Our experience of the cottage was disappointing. The cottage is situated next to a busy road, which has it's good and bad points. Good for easy access to lots of places, bad for traffic noise which can be heard inside and doesn't encourage you to sit outside. The cottage could do with a deep clean everywhere inside, there was huge cobwebs and dirty rugs to mention just a few areas. The bathroom suite was clean. The bedding and towels were of a good standard however the mattress in the double bedroom was not. There was lots of useful and thoughtful items left in the cottage for guests to use. T...more
The property is lovely, its got everything you need! There were a couple of things which were broken such as the bin which is a bit unhygienic, and also currently the other property on the land is being renovated, so it was a bit of a building site. Other than those things it was great. The communication was very fast and accommodating. Would recommend.
Nice cottage and location and lots of potential but the decor and cleanliness was not up to scratch. Chesterfield sofa was filled with crumbs in the holes, dead wood lice all over the floor (and they had the cheek to ask us to remove our shoes ) not ideal for four adults but it could have been if you’d just buy a proper bed for the room with two singles instead of a camp bed… also don’t say dog friendly when the dogs were not allowed in half of the house or on your crumby sofa or allowed to poop in the yard
Great location, however the property was really not clean. There was no vacuumcleaner, so also not much we could do about it ourselves. The beds were small and not so comfortable, which led to bad nightrest. The waterboiler really neads to be replaced, this is dangerous, the water just pours out. Could you please take care of this? The curtains in the living room are really old, worn out.
