A groionof us stayed on Stourton Manor over the New Year period. The house was fantastically located and a lot of space. Great for large family meals and games etc with open fires to cosy up to. Beautifully furnished and the kitchen has everything you need.
The house was incredible, the owners really friendly and helpful. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean, luxurious towels and bedding etc and a beautiful fragrance throughout. The whole group loved their stay and we really hope to return. It is exactly as it looks in the photos and walk through, perhaps even better!
We had a most wonderful stay at Kestrel barn this weekend. Communication from Jo was really helpful. The house was spotless, the location was gorgeous. A cheese vending machine 2 min walk away.. what more can I say. We did a fantastic tour of Woodchester Vineyard on the Friday. Would highly recommend Wonky cabs to get around the area. Hot tub was perfect, especially on the stormy evenings! Beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. We would definitely return.
Inglenook Cottage was perfect for my family and friends. We used the convenient trains and buses to see the surrounding area. And we walked and walked enjoying all the paths around! The house was comfortable and pleasant. My inquiries about how the heat and laundry machines worked were answered promptly. Charlbury met all our needs: walkable, convenient, great COOP and bars and restaurants. Bolthole was excellent to do business with. We’ll be back soon.
Beautiful lodge, in an excellent position. We spent 3 night there across a half term weekend with our 2 boys. Great location of long cycles, good activities within and around Isis lake. Thoroughly recommend.
We loved staying at The Little Forge. We could walk to everything in Bourton on the Water and The Slaughters. It was cozy and perfectly fit our needs.
The Nest is a cosy, welcoming and very well equipped space with an excellent location for exploring the surrounding towns. Lovely little welcome basket on arrival with some local delicacies. Highly recommend.
What an amazing place to relax and chill. Read a book in front of the fire, go for walks in the forest which are right outside the door. The house has everything you need. There is a local pub walking distance (no food, friendly locals). Lovely open space vibe in the chapel. Dog loved it too. The host Vicky was great too. If there was a spa pool or a bath that would have been perfect. But overall it was great.
We enjoyed a short break over the New Year and had a superb stay. Great communication from the outset with Julie the owner and accommodation was spotless and in a perfect location for exploring further a field. Prestbury is a lovely village with 3 good pubs all within a 10 min walk from the Stables. Will definitely return on our next trip to the Cotswolds.
Lamb’s Lawn is a wonderful property set in a beautiful location. The house was immaculate and perfect for our group of five. Everything had been thought of and we felt like we were in a luxurious boutique hotel whilst having all the benefits of being self catered. We did not explore as much as we had planned to but went for a blustery walk in the stunning deer park and had a delicious lunch by the fire at the 3 Daggers. On our first morning it was magical to open the curtains and look out at a herd of deer gazing down at us! The rest of the time was spent chatting and relaxing, watching films,...more
Wonderful accommodation for family exmas break. Spotlessly clean. Only a couple of things which would improve the experience: 1. The oven is not big enough for such a large group booking and delayed our Xmas lunch considerably. 2.A significant cold draft in main living area by bar which made the room chilly. We had children with us so could not make use of the open fire. 3.check in at 4pm quite late to settle in with babies and children. 10 am checkout early for same reasons , tricky with so many people and children. Otherwise thoroughly recommend it’s amazing !
We loved our stay here, the cottage was spotless and had everything you could need. Even complete with a welcome hamper of local produce. It’s located well to get out and visit the Cotswolds. We had two cars and had no problem parking on the street outside the cottage. Thank you for a lovely stay, would definitely recommend!
Sweetslade Cottage exceeded both of our expectations. There was private parking outside the cottage, which was lit up beautifully when we arrived. We walked in to music playing in the background and were blown away by the decor and cleanliness. There were so many added extra little touches that made it stand out from anywhere we have stayed before. Neatly arranged flowers from the garden were placed on the bedside table which looked beautiful. You really can see the effort that the owners put in to make it such a memorable getaway. We liked it so much that when we arrived home we wanted to red...more
Had the most wonderful long weekend in this gorgeous cottage. Immaculate inside with really comfortable beds and everything you would need. Really lovely having encoded garden for dogs - super quiet location.
We chose Timber Lodge as it was close to Oxford and had good bus and train services to the city. Not long after we arrived, Lisa called round to check that we had everything we needed. She is a very friendly and welcoming host and we got the impression that, if we did need help or have questions, nothing would be too much trouble. The Lodge was very clean, well equipped and well kept - and exactly as described. Off-street parking was appreciated, as was the train trip into Oxford - just 10 minutes and we were there! The village shop was impressive with a wide range of quality goods. We hope to...more
What a very warm welcome from Peter. Into a very cosy coach house. Perfect reception for all of the winter wear needed a place for everything. The heated stone floor was pure joy. No slippers required after a glorious walk. The log burner also with the supply of logs welcome and full instructions given after the tour. Lots of storage space and lovely linen on very comfortable beds. Perfect post Christmas retreat. Great location for seeing lots of villiages short drives away. List of suggestions sent to my phone after out chat. Thank you Peter you're very proud of your coach house it ...more
I stayed at Lake Cottage to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday. The property was spotless and so well equipped. We all commented multiple times on how the owners had gone above and beyond to fill the cupboard with everything you could need for a short break. The building itself is stunning and in a picturesque location. Not to mention the friendly pig on site who was a family favourite. I would highly recommend staying at Lake Cottage. We will be looking at booking our next staycation there shortly.
The house is really beautiful, the grounds also are lovely, lots of space. It is pretty far from the village, a solid 15 minute walk. And the village is tiny. But if you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track then this is it.
Great place to stay and enjoy the wonderful Cotswolds. We gathered for a big family Christmas and this is the perfect venue. Warm and cosy but big enough for all of us. We love to cook and the kitchen did not fail us. Space for all the cooks and all the equipment we needed was provided. The dining room is an amazing room for feasting. We’ve explored the walks and the disc golf on site. Easy stroll to the pubs in Charlbury and the Christmas lights at Blenheim were spectacular. We’ve had a wonderful time and didn’t want to leave.
We enjoyed our stay so much the view was amazing, the hot tub was very clean and easy to use. The garden was very spacious perfect for taking animals with you. The cabin stays perfectly warm with the heater so make sure you have the heating on after a shower because the shower doesn’t get as hot as I’d like. They provide anything u can think of in the kitchen area except from an oven but there’s an air fryer oven which is just as good
We loved every moment of our stay at Lakeside Cottage. Hosts Carol and Peter were warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Accommodation was superb- beautiful views, home comforts, lovely welcome with a loaf of Peter’s homemade bread. Comfortable beds and furniture, lovely and quiet, lots of wildlife to keep us occupied. Don’t be put off by the steep little hill on the track going in/out… it’s worth it! We would definitely go back in a heartbeat!
I would highly recommend this stay. Everything is all 5 stars, it was very cosy and the 2 barns worked well for us.
Gordon Cottage was absolutely perfect for our 2 nights stay at the Cotswolds. We were given plenty of information and accessed the property with ease, it was immaculately clean and had everything you could need for a short stay including some milk in the fridge! The Christmas Tree in the lounge was such a lovely touch, me and my friends were extremely happy to see it! The location was perfect, the area was lovely we had breakfast locally at Bromleys, dinner at the Italian Da Luigi and Sunday roast at Eight Bells Inn. This was my first experience of the Cotswolds and I will definitely ...more
Enjoyed our stay; my only disappointment was a refuse bin full of maggots; don't think it had been emptied in a very long time and was not due to be emptied during my stay but was very unpleasant. The bin collection process obvious left a lot to be desired.
We had a fabulous time staying at owls nest. It was clean, tidy and modern and had everything we needed. We loved the farm tour and David couldn’t have been more helpful. Would love to return
Stunning Views, immaculate property, warm and relaxed. Nearby walk to Devil's Pulpit worth it if the weather is kind.
I want to thank Nigel and Sheila for their kind hospitality during our stay of several weeks. Welcomed with a homemade Victoria sponge cake, we quickly felt at home at Hilcot Farmhouse. As a family of four with two kids and also two dogs, the property offered us the space and comfort we needed. Well equipped with everything you might need, it very much felt a home away from home. There are walks on your doorstep but only a short drive from local pubs and also Cheltenham. For a Cotswolds Holiday Cottage it offers good value for money especially if you book directly with Bolthole Retreats. Happy...more
Norton Coach house met all our needs. It was easy to find, and had driveway parking. We were a group of 5, and a dog, and there was plenty of room downstairs, for us all to socialise. The house was very clean and well equipped. The bedrooms were a bit on the small size, but were all en-suite, which made up for the lack of space. Tea, coffee, milk etc were left for us, which were appreciated. The property was only a few yards from Cheltenham Spa railway station, which was very handy, as one of our party was travelling by train. It was an easy walk into town, and a lot of beautiful Cotswold ...more
The cottage is perfectly located in the centre of Charlbury to access any of the pubs and shops, but with all the peace, quiet and space you could want. The cottage was perfect, if a little warm, with the underfloor heating, offering all the space a couple could need and it just felt like such a comfortable space to be in, for our short break. The facilities were great with the log fire, smart TV, comfortable bed and good living and dining space. The kitchen was well equipped to the point it allowed a full Christmas dinner to be prepared and cooked, which is unusual for a holiday let. T...more
Vine cottage is a lovely place to stay. It was ideal for our family group ranging from 3 months to 65 years. Perfectly clean, very spacious and modern, beautifully furnished and very well equipped, it offered us everything we could ask for. We particularly loved the large dining area for our family meals. There is a garden for toddlers to play in and a very quiet park with swings next door. On-site parking for our three cars was so easy. I cannot find fault at all. They have obviously put a lot of effort into making it so comfortable. The location is also convenient for all the Cotswolds highl...more
We absolutely fell in love with old Myrtle Cottage, a beautiful, well equipped property in the most perfect location for getting out and about in the Forest of Dean. The Farmers Boy Inn, just 200 yards up the road, was a lovely bonus. Their friendly welcome and hospitality, along with their excellent food and beverages, really helped to make our stay even better. We can’t wait to go back and discover more of the area!!
A beautiful secluded home surrounded by lush countryside, perfect for a family break. With walks and cycle rides straight from the front door suitable for multi generational outings! One morning we walked to Cranham Common and had a delicious pub lunch at the Back Horse Inn. Lovely little stream in the valley provided opportunities for several games of pooh sticks and bird watching. The beautiful garden was a joy to sit in when the sun shone and provided space for us just to hang out, play games and explore. Court Cottage is very well equipped to cater to a group gathering - it took us a whi...more
Beautiful large house to suit our ever growing family, perfectly located on the site . Superb kitchen equipment and comfortable beds
We stayed at The Weir House over Christmas and it was honestly magical. The setting is absolutely idyllic — right next to the river with beautiful views of the rapids, Yat Rock, and the little cottages twinkling with Christmas lights on the hill. The house itself is stunning. Spotlessly clean, incredibly spacious, and the beds were really comfortable. The kitchen was so well equipped with every piece of kitchenware you could ever need — the owners have clearly thought of absolutely everything. It was beautifully festive for Christmas too, and there was plenty of space for us to host my fami...more
We had a wonderful time at Teagles cottage. The house was absolutely beautiful and exactly as described, with a fantastic location that was perfect for exploring. The property is very well equipped and has everything you need if you wanted to eat in. We ate out as so many options for food just a few steps away but did appreciate the lovely welcome pack. Oh and the beds are super comfy! The host Lyndsey was very helpful and gave us a couple of great recommendations. We felt right at home and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay. We can't ...more
We stayed as a family of three adult couples. It was a perfect layout for us and the amenities were just right. The house itself is stunning, as is the property it’s on. We were able to see all over the Cotswolds and have a lovely home to come back to at night. We would absolutely stay again!
As a family with two young children, the property was wonderful for us and just what we needed. The pool was a particular highlight and the kids spent every afternoon in it. The house is compact but really well appointed and clean, with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable seating. The area is quiet, with lovely walking straight from the front door and Hay-on-Wye a short drive away. It's a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday.
Stayed here for Christmas week. What a fantastic cottage, lovely location near a pub and then a 25min stroll into chipping campden which is beautiful with lots of pubs and shops. The property was very well organised with so much storage and supplies in the kitchen it really did feel like a home away from home. Everything was very clean and tidy when we got there and loved the set up of all the smart light control etc. also had games and jigsaws to keep you busy, our dog loved the closed in garden with room to run..Will definitely book again.
We absolutely loved everything! We felt very relaxed during our stay. Cottage was super clean and the view on the church was awesome.
A group of 9 friends stayed for 3 nights. Very happy to highly recommend. Immaculately clean, really comfortable beds, well equipped kitchens. Very short walk and on to the Cotswold Way. The Nissan Hut is a very warm accomodation, we stayed end of October/early November and had the heating off and windows open! Customer service was outstanding, all questions answered promptly and extremely helpful. Thank you!
Comfortable, stylish lodge in a beautiful little village located conveniently close to Oxford (Park and Ride 10 minutes away and definitely recommend) and other attractions such as Blenheim Palace (15 minutes drive). Lisa, the owner, was great - really friendly and responsive when we had an issue with connecting to the WIFI (which turned out to be our error). The lodge is beautifully furnished and so comfortable (particularly the super king bed in the ground floor bedroom) with everything we needed to self cater on a couple of evenings. Fabulous start to our New Year!
Lovely clean and well set out shepherds hut, ideally positioned for exploring the Cotswolds. Very close to GWR steam railway, Studley castle & Hailes abbey. The host is very friendly & helpful. Very peaceful weekend had by all.
The best Cotswold cottage rental we have ever stayed in, the attention to detail from the owners is outstanding. Had a slight issue with the WiFi when we arrived, my sister messaged the owner and he helped us to sort it straight away, great service. Great location to be able to get to all the different villages and very private. Perfect for a large family with children, numerous communal areas so that we could all be together but we also had plenty of space, we would 100% return. Thank you for having us :)
A quirky, well appointed accomodation in splendid surroundings. A wonderful fireplace and a special room for the children, filled with large soft cushions. We were lucky with the weather and had great walks in the Slad valley, but in case of rain the place is big enough for eight people to be comfortable. The Woolpack pub is only a few minutes down the road. It is advisable to bring torches for the walk in the dark, as the road is narrow and busy, although traffic is slow due to the parking arrangements. We had a wonderful stay. We forgot a bottle of whiskey, the caretaker and the person at th...more
Fabulous property that is as good if not better than the pictures. Every room is a new surprise & caters for another situation - from the large formal reception rooms to the smaller, cosy snugs. Every bedroom is excellent. Having access to the surrounding deer park allows you to be lord of the manor for the weekend! The house was beautifully prepared by Linda & Helen as housekeepers who also provided a detailed tour on arrival. The property is extremely well equipped- I can't remember ever renting a property with as varied & extensive equipment list. Despite being a large & old property the p...more
We stayed for 4 nights between Christmas and New Year. Had a great time in the cottage- everything we needed for a relaxing stay! Thank you to the owners for the Christmas tree and mince pies!
Stunning home, very comfortable owner had thought of everything. Cottage in a good location for exploring the Cotswolds.
A nicely laid out floor plan with excellent amenities for both bedrooms. The house was well presented and had a generous amount of utilities and linen etc. Good parking .. overall an excellent experience
Just returned from this fabulous property. The location couldn’t be better…literally minutes from the centre of Marlborough with all its shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. This house was perfect for our girls weekend. Loads of space and loads of bathrooms! The communication was also great and we were recommended where to park safely and for free for the whole weekend (literally round the corner!) FYI parking is always a problem in Marlborough. This house is perfectly suited for large group gatherings…really comfortable and we all loved it!
It was a great stay for 10 single adults as there were plenty of beds (4 singles in the attic) and a generous dining table. The conservatory just off the kitchen was a lovely location to congregate and enjoy the view on to the beautiful garden. The owners were nearby and very responsive and friendly. There was plenty of cooking paraphernalia and crockery. Beds were very comfortable and bed linen was high quality. It was great and much appreciated that the house was warmed up in anticipation of our winter weekend stay (our experience over 20 years is that this is rarely the case)
An excellent cottage, very well equipped, cosy, felt like home, excellent location especially being so close to the lovely pub. I really was made up that they had decorated the cottage with Christmas decs, that was a brilliant addition to our stay. Would definitely say again.
Fantastic cottage beautiful decoration brilliant location everything as we expected and more pulled out all the stops
Would highly recommend a stay in Bertha for a peaceful time away. Lovely finishes all round and very comfortable. Coffee on the porch each morning taking in the views was definitely a highlight.
On arrival the house was very welcoming , spotlessly clean and everything we needed . It was such a lovely location and was a great place to get all our family together for a few days , my granddaughter really loved the zip wire in the back garden . The beds were very comfy , and the living room was cosy in the evenings for playing games or just watching some tv . Thank you for a wonderful stay , would highly recommend.
We were a family of 6 adults and three young children. We had a very enjoyable stay. Spring House met our every need. Plenty of room, good amenity, centrally located in the Cotswolds and relaxing. Highly recommended.
We had a very comfortable stay at Sage Cottage, we would highly recommend the cafe/restaurant in the village, excellent food. The cottage is handy to see plenty of the Cotswold villages and is only 40 minutes to the Cotswold Safari Park, well worth a visit. The cottage would benefit from additional plates and mugs so the dishwasher doesn’t have to be put on every day, but otherwise the cottage is excellent.
An amazing venue with everything you could possibly need and more. The attention to detail is incredible. It’s in a great location—peaceful and tucked away, yet still close enough to pop out if needed. The beds were very comfortable, and the whole place was beautifully maintained. We’d love to revisit in the future!
Beautiful place. Perfectly and attentively furnished. We enjoyed the Christmas tree and decorations. Very well equipped and spacious living area.
Very comfortable, clean and sparkling new. There are dramatic views from nearby Dovers hill over the vale of Evesham, and a good network of footpaths close by. We had some great walks and runs.
From the moment we arrived we knew were were going to love our stay. Could not fault the cottage for its postion, cleanliness, well equipped kitchen and very large lounge which accommodated 5 adults and an 'one the go' toddler perfectly. I have marked comfort down by one mark as the sofas were not the most comfortable. Every activity we wanted to do was within 10 - 20 mins away - perfect. We loved our stay and would definately recommend it. Thank you so much Mary for the delicious cake and eggs x
Six of us stayed for a great week in this beautiful and well equipped house in the Forest of Dean. Loads to see and places to walk nearby including walking from the house. The property was very comfortable with large beds and separate bathrooms for each couple, huge kitchen diner to relax together in and a hot tub for those who wanted it. We visited Symonds Yat, castles, an escape room, Tintern Abbey and lots of places in the forest. Plenty pubs and cafes for refreshments when out and about too. Tracey who looks after the property was very helpful and easy to contact if needed. We had a lovely...more
We booked Colebrook Cottage for a family gathering the weekend before Christmas with our two adult children, their spouses and our two ‘toddler’ grandsons. The property is presented beautifully and has everything we needed in terms of bedrooms, bathrooms etc. The beautiful kitchen which is very well equipped is the ‘hub’ of the property and we ‘cooked in’ for a couple of nights whilst eating out one night at the local pub (Great Western Arms?) which is a few minutes walk away and offers good pub food, great local ales and a lovely warm welcome from Drew the landlord. We visited Stow on the Wol...more
Everything was perfect. The beds were comfortable and loads of equipment in the kitchen. We enjoyed the morning visitors!
What a treat, the pictures do it no justice. The house has everything you need and lovely a warm with two fabulous fireplaces for cold days.
We’ve just returned from a lovely stay at Hare Cottage. It was in the perfect location for us, surrounded by fields and lush greenery. Very peaceful and tranquil. The cottage is beautiful and clean. And was very well equipped for the duration of our stay.
This is a returning visit for us, with 4 of our friends and all new parents. We had the most incredible stay once again, and the babies loved the space they had to play around inside and out in. Would highly recommend staying there with friends& family, the local village has some amazing pubs & restaurants. This will not be our last visit.
It was a privilege to stay in a Grade 11 Jacobean House with a number of original features and tastefully modernised. The kitchen was well equipped and dining facilities were excellent so you could comfortably dine in or out in the garden.Grosmont is a lovely village and the house overlooks interesting Church and also Grosmont Castle is a stones throw away and the local pub is even nearer. It was too hot for much walking but lovely views from the surrounding hills and several interesting churches and castle ruins not far. We made friends with several people in the village.
We didn’t really know what to expect when we arrived but the cottage is in a very secluded location and the housekeeper advised we could arrive earlier than stated on the arrival day as it was ready early which was ideal. Really clean, warm and welcome pack and bits were excellent. I wouldn’t rely on the games room as the shed it’s in needs some work but it’s a handy extra. The outside utility is like a mini drying room as it’s so warm and we found this really handy being winter. Kitchen is well equipped and super clean. The lounge is huge and wood burner heats it really quickly. The hot...more
Such a little gem of a cottage in a delightful village. Arrived earlier than expected but the host allowed us to check in early - so helpful. Everything was even better than we expected and accommodation was so practical for the two of us with our French Waterdog, Burdock (flagstone floors made it even easier). Loved the fact that the kitchen suited us, with good quality kit so you could actually cook great meals from scratch - bags of fridge space too. We only used one bedroom, looking out onto the neighbouring church adding to the relaxing feel and my word, that bed was super comfy! Gre...more
We stayed in Betty 13th - 15th November. What a beautiful peaceful location! The Hut has everything needed for a comfortable stay, lovely shower room with super water pressure (better than home) and towels, shampoo, body wash, hairdryer etc provided.. The kingsized bed is really comfortable, there are some books and games to make use of. There is central heating and also a log burner with logs provided, we used this and it was very...more
Lovely cottage, beautifully decorated and very clean and warm. Beds very comfortable. Great location within a short walk to the centre of town. Kitchen was fantastic and well-equipped. Only slight negative was the size of the dining table in the kitchen - it's tiny! There is space to accommodate a much bigger table which would make things more comfortable when having a meal.
We rented this house for an 18th birthday celebration with the family and it was perfect. The house was beautiful. It was well maintained. The hot tub was wonderful. The gardens were beautiful. The fact we had complete free rein of the estate was fabulous. It was a perfect house in a wonderful location And I would highly recommend
The whole feeling was of a well maintained and very well stocked home. The kitchen had everything you would need and the bathroom was of a very high standard as were all areas of the house. It is in a very good location for exploring the area. The only minor criticism would be that the "leaving instructions" are rather vague regarding what to do with rubbish and one of the drive lights was out. We had a wonderful stay and will certainly stay there again.
Es un rincon precioso y muy agradable. Ademas nos dejaron detalles a la llegada como una botella de vino, mantequilla, pan y mas cosas. Es de las mejores estancias que hemos estado. Muchas gracias.
Our thanks to Liam and Pete for their helpful information via messaging just prior to our visit. It was great to know either (in our case, Liam) was available for contact. The Moorhens Cottage was lovely, clean, beautifully warm and welcoming with a Christmas tree. The kitchen a tad small with a limited amount of work and store space. The cooker was a challenge at first until we found the instructions. (It maybe useful to sort all the equipment instructions into one place. I put as many as I could into one drawer.) The roads are very narrow and unloading and loading a little difficult ...more

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you can think of and the flagstone floor has underfloor heating. The swimming lake and hot tub are fabulous. Lovely stay, beautiful place, spacious, clean, ample parking and great location. Hosts were very welcoming and left some useful tips on where to eat locally.
Charming and cosy cottage. It was clean and comfortable with all amenities for an easy stay and the Christmas decorations were a lovely touch. We would definitely return.
The house is absolutely beautiful, centrally located, equipped with everything and more than you need for a relaxing break away. The house is just a dream, we all had the most amazing 3 night stay, everything was perfect with the added touch of fresh milk and a homemade lemon cake awaiting us. Lots of small luxury touches throughout the house. Definitely recommend and we will be back (perhaps without the children next time)
When we arrived we found a lovely Christmas tree all decorated in the lounge. Everywhere was well organised and we found everything as per the information booklet. The house was large with plenty of space for all of us with separate day areas providing a variety of social spaces. We found the information booklet especially useful in planning our visits around the location.
Warm, comfortable stay for a family of 4. Property is well situated to explore the area. Overall a lovely stay.
This was the third stay that we have had over the Christmas period here. It is a great base for our family of four and two dogs. The house is well equipped and as usual we received a warm welcome from the owner who always checks to ensure we have everything we need.
The house is immaculate and the owner is nearby and popped in to make sure everything was ok. The house is perfectly placed to explore the area and the walks in the area are lovely. I would rebook this house and recommend to anyone.
The house was just as advertised. Very clean and comfortable. The house was well stocked with bathroom and kitchen essentials though I did wish I had taken kitchen roll! Around the property were numerous instructions one of which told us how quiet the area was. In the instructions before arriving we were told no noise outside after 10pm. During our stay we obeyed these rules. Our neighbours did not. I was still listening to their garden party noise at midnight. There was a similar situation on the second night though it did finish earlier. Such a shame that this was the only blight on our s...more
Second time staying at this property would definitely use it again when visiting family in the area. Nice to be able to come back knowing that it’s a relaxing property with all that you require when not at home! So peaceful!
The gorgeous Little Coach House was perfect for our 3 days in the Cotswolds experience. Located on a large property with a fabulous farmshop yet within a village with a pub and restaurant. With guidance from our wonderful host we explored the region including Oxford, Burton on Water and the Internationally famous Farmers Dog! Thankyou for a wonderful stay
Stepping Stones is beautifully situated in Blockley, a pretty village in the Cotswolds. The owners had thoughtfully left decorations for Christmas, the accommodation was extremely comfortable, and it was an excellent base from which to walk and explore during Christmas. The house was very well equipped, both in the kitchen and throughout the living accommodation. One or two things need to be brought to the owner’s attention: The freezer was badly iced up, and needs defrosting. The rails and tray in the oven were dirty. The TV channels were difficult to access, and access to Netflix etc w...more
An absolute delight from arrival. Nothing to moan about at all, (apart from the stairs, but that did wonders for the thighs). It was just as we imagined and hoped for. The scenery was absolutely magnificent and the home itself was beyond words. If this is an example of Bolthole Retreats, there is the possibility we may look at others, in fact not a possibility a definitely.
Stayed for my 50th birthday and there were 7 of us ranging from 47 to 87. The house is beautiful, very well stocked and beautifully presented. We loved every room and the owners thought of everything. We used the hot tub which was lovely also. Pub in the village does great food
The house was everything and more we were hoping for. It has everything you could need for a large group including 2 dishwashers and plenty of glasses, crockery and cooking equipment. The decor is perfect for the property. Location wise was great and we really enjoyed walking around the castle grounds. Overall 5 star rating. We loved it.
This was a perfect location for us, halfway between us and family we were meeting up with. It was easy to find and it was good that there were a few pubs and villages close by. The house was really tastefullly decorated and furnished, and the ensuite bathrooms were spacious and modern and were a great find for us. The back garden was enclosed with plenty of room for the dogs to runaround in, and had plenty of furniture to sit and enjoy food and drink outside. And even though the hot tub was across the courtyard it still felt quite private. The hosts were very friendly and sorted out any min...more
Tetbury is a great location for a holiday. Not as busy and crowded as some Cotswold towns but with enough shops, pubs and restaurants to be self-sufficient and all the other main attractions are not far away by car. The National Arboretum and Cirencester are recommended. The Mews is centrally located within a quiet corner of the town and a short walk to several nice pubs, cafe's and restaurants. A good convenience store is a short walk and a large supermarket a very short drive. The apartment was spotlessly clean on arrival and furnished and decorated to a very high standard. Chalford Manor provided a wonderful place for us to meet up with our extended family. There was plenty of space for our 10-person group to relax both together and separately. Astrid provided great communication before and during our stay and had a gorgeous welcome basket for us when we arrived. The house was also very accommodating for children, with a cot, high chairs, toys, and books. We stayed for a week and could easily have stayed longer!
A pleasant Christmas stay in a 16th century cottage. It was much appreciated that the cottage had been decorated with two Christmas trees, lights etc. A bottle of champagne in the fridge and a starter pack helped - thank you. Fully accepting the limitations of a listed building good efforts have been made to modernise and provide amenities, ie: Very good WiFi, TV reception, constant hot water - well done. The kitchen is very small and the freezer compartment in the fridge needs to be defrosted. Stratford Upon Avon is a very good visit with many varied aspects to it and the Saturday morni...more
We booked The Loft in conjunction with Kington Grange itself. This was an amazing space to use for communal activities and meals. It was really comfortable, bright and had some lovely features.
Foxholme Manor is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Cotswolds close to some of the area's most picturesque places. The grounds with tennis court, swimming pool, orchard etc are extensive and the walks to nearby pubs and villages are stunning and offer wonderful views of the countryside. The house itself is huge and perfect for a multi-generational family like us. There are lots of different sitting areas so it's easy to spread out. Though the kitchen is very well equipped, it is relatively small for the size of the property and doesn't have much food preparation space. I wo...more
Forsythia Cottage is a quaint, cosy cottage in a fabulous location. Excellent for a couple. On the downside, the shower is very cramped and, although it is centrally heated, the cottage can be a little chilly (especially the bathroom) in very cold weather. There is a gas fire in the lounge, though. Overall, a lovely place for a Cotswold break.
Our family had a lovely trip at the Coppice, it's a characterful property, and the welcome pack was a nice surprise. Peaceful location, pub walkable, nice walks nearby and the property is well equipped.
Fabulous accommodation. Everything was impeccably clean. Space was huge and views were delightful. Totally recommend to anyone.
We couldn’t have wished for more at our recent stay at Yew Tree Cottage - beautifully decorated house with everything we needed. Great location in sleepy village just 10 mins drive from stow, burford and broadway. Family of 6 adults, 2 children and 1 v well behaved dog had plenty of space and will definitely return. A true JEM!!
Barns Lee was exceptional in every aspect. We had the most wonderful family get together for Christmas. A luxurious home with a wonderful layout. The added bonus of the Hot Tub got lots of use! Lots of lovely countryside walks. Would highly recommend.
Amazing! An absolute treat staying at the Cottage Studio. Everything was easy to navigate, clean, and perfect guides and choice of simple games for our family to use. Location was heavenly- we can’t wait to come back!
Booking was easy with very helpful staff from Bolthole and on site Good location allowing travel to interesting places Bedrooms and bathrooms very clean Even better if … Include a few products from the wonderful Hillers Farm shop on arrival Would be good publicity for them too Double check equipment coming out of dish washer to ensure all is perfectly clean Clean main windows after each booking. People clearly look out and push their faces to the windows leaving smeary marks !
Lovely thatched cottage in a great location, for relaxing, walking, sigh seeing. Close enough to visit other towns, local Pub did good food plus nice hospitality. Will be re booking.
We had a great family weekend at Keepers Cottage. Great walks and days out. The cottage is perfect for family's wanting to get away in the countryside.
This is our second Dec stay at Farthingdales cottage, On arrival it was lovely to see the real Christmas tree in situ and the light on for us. Our only criticism is that the main bedroom is very cold, the radiator doesn't give out much heat. It was the same last year. The window would benefit from a shutter or blind as very cool and draughty. It did affect our enjoyment
We so enjoyed staying at Wynyard Mill, such a delightful house which was well equipped and in a good location to explore the surrounding area.
Had a fantastic time here - the inlaws came from abroad and we wanted to get them out of the city. The cottage was fantastic - very high spec, cosy and plenty of space. beautiful location and accessible to the surrounding villages to explore the Cotswolds. The communication was great - quick, hellpful and accomodating. We had a wonderful time.
Lovely house and location. Beautifully furnished upstairs, light throughout, with nice views from all the windows. Comfort would have been a 5 not 4 if both beds had been a bit more comfie. The owners were very attentive when the toaster caused the lights to trip. Would not hesitate to recommend as a perfect place for a quiet retreat, or base to explore the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley.
Lovely stay at Percy house. Beautifully clean and very comfortable. Great location to Stratford for the Christmas markets. Would definitely return.
If you are looking for a quaint cottage in the Cotswolds (with all the modern amenities), Brown’s Cottage is a great choice. Easy access to hiking and great local pubs. The grocery store store and post office are very close. If you are tall, you have to watch the beams in the living room; and you have to lug your suitcases up the stairs. All part of the quaintness. Easy train access to Oxford and London.
We enjoyed our stay very much at Crofters Barn. It was comfortable, clean and an ideal location for exploring the Cotswolds. However, this is our fourth visit to the Cotswolds and the only place where we have not received a welcome pack. A few essentials like milk, bread etc would have been nice after a long day travelling. The only other thing was that the windows in the sunroom could have done with a clean. However, we would have no reservations in returning to Crofters Barn or recommending it to others.
The cottage is clean, comfortable, well equipped and nicely decorated. We enjoyed our sta and would stay again.
We stayed for Christmas and the house was perfect, plenty of space and had most things we needed. The garden was amazing for our dog and secure. The only little niggle (which wasn’t really a problem) was that the double bedroom to the right of the house seems to have a problem with ladybugs coming in through the window frames. Other than that we can’t fault this house at all.
Woodmancote cottage is a very cosy house, full of character. It is in a very quiet setting, yet close to amenities. The accommodation was perfect for our group of two couples. The only things that could have improved our stay were larger beds, and one of the radiators was not working in one bedroom.
Pickett Cottage is a comfortable, clean and peaceful setting for a stay in the Cotswolds. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining and lounge areas are very comfortable and pleasant. The cottage has a wood burner which warms the living areas very well. the outlook of Pickett Cottage is really pleasant and it is well placed for walking and exploring the Cotswolds by other means. The two bedrooms upstairs in the cottage are very comfortable. One is ensuite and the other is located near a shower-room. These bathrooms are good but the water did not have great pressure and at times was not ...more
This is a lovely property in a magnificent setting in the Slad Valley…regrettably the owner is clueless as to his responsibilities to allow tenants “quiet and peaceful use of the property”…despite placing a deposit 9 months in advance and fully paying for the letting 60 days in advance; the owner thought it proper to have painters sanding, scrapping and painting on the exterior of the property during the first 3 days of our tenancy without seeking prior consent …rather than risk further disrupting our long planned holiday we chose not raise the issue until the end of our tenancy…this was a big...more
A beautiful, warm spacious house with gorgeous views. All bedrooms were comfortable and tastefully furnished. Bedding and towels to a standard one would hope for. Absolutely perfect for our family of 11 plus the dog. Kitchen well stocked, although in need of new chopping boards. 2 dishwashers were a great advantage. Hot tub fun despite having to cut down a forest to heat it! All was super, although we had to oven juggle, when catering as the large Belling oven wasn’t working!
A group of 2 families with 3 children (between ages 1 - 3) stayed at this cottage over a weekend. From our first view of the cottage when we pulled into the drive it was beautiful and very well maintained. The inside was even more perfect, rooms were beautiful and tastefully decorated, kitchen was very well equipped - we couldn’t fault it. Beds were comfortable and great sizes. This cottage was perfect as when the kids were in bed the adults could make use of the games room. The welcome pack of coffee and chocolates was a nice touch. The cottage is perfectly located with a convenience stor...more
Thank you so much for the invidual touches such as the Christmas card and present. We had a wonderful stay and would certainly recommend Crafty Cottage. It was so cosy and very well heated in a very cold period. Some more cutlery and plates would have been appreciated as well as instructions for the oven. Thank you very much.
Lovely spot, walking distance from a great pub, comfortable, cosy. Well equipped kitchen. A bit more cutlery would have been good, otherwise splendid!
As we opened the front door of barn end, it was clear that the house had not been open for at least a few days. There were a number of wasps flying around on the ground floor, perhaps a dozen. We killed or let out through the windows, perhaps10 or 15. There were dead wasps around the house. Initially it wasn’t clear whether there was an infestation somewhere but we didn’t find one. The other points that the owner should be aware are as follows: the outside door leading from the living room to the back patio was shut but unlocked and anyone could have stepped in. The left-hand bath tap is abo...more
Beautiful two-bed cottage with everything you needed in a gorgeous location with fantastic weather - who wants anything else! Lovely large bathroom with a great shower and great kitchen space. In true cottage fashion the living space is small but comfortable. As the listing warns, the stairs are tight and you need to be nimble. The only downside was that the main bed mattress wasn’t massively comfortable.
We visited Middle Barn for a long weekend of birthday celebrations for my mum and family. Communication with our hosts (Tom and Kate) was great, we met them on arrival and nothing was too much trouble over the weekend, giving us good local information as to where to go, where to park and what to do. The barn was very clean, warm and cosy. The log burner was lovely for a November evening. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and it was a perfect space for having a family celebration. We would have no hesitation in booking again.
Excellent location in Stow but felt the house needed a bit of TLC with lounge furniture in need of updating and renewal of oven cupboards. We used three of the five excellent bedrooms but felt a full occupancy would be a little cramped in the Lounge area. We did however have a very enjoyable time at the property
The property was well equipped and had plenty of space downstairs with a vey spacious conservatory. Being tucked away through a series of arches it was not the easiest place to find, although the instructions were clear. This problem was offset by the fact that parking was very easy and being away from the main road meant that it was quiet.
The Leat feels as if you are in the countryside but has convenient access into Malmsbury town. Very clean, everything you could need in the kitchen (save a dishwasher, but not a problem for us). Lovely views from all aspects of the bright living area upstairs due to the upside-down layout. Very comfortable king size beds and a plus to have two bathrooms. Very warm considering it is an old building and was winter time. Lots of information provided in the property including numerous leaflets of places to visit. Enjoyed reading the many history books on Malmsbury. Hoping to move to this area next...more
Fabulous stay at Mayfly Cottage clean throughout. Well presented. Well equiped kitchen and use of basic essentials.. Great location within the Cotswolds water park! Would 100% stay again
Great house in a quiet road - plenty of room to accommodate our family group of 6 adults and 3 cars. Tastefully decorated throughout. 10 minute stroll to the village centre and a Budgens store. The Wheatsheaf Inn, was a particular favourite with great food and service.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fabulous property. We wanted for nothing. It is warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean, everything worked, (a novelty in rentals), well equipped, beautiful views. Excellent communication from both Bolthole Retreats and the property’s representative. We’d love to return - thank you
This is a fabulous house for a gathering of friends or family. The bedrooms are nice and the reception rooms are superb. We had a wonderful long weekend. The agent was very helpful both before and during our stay. We had a technical issue with the house while we were there and the owner responded with a partial refund.
We booked Appletree cottage for a birthday weekend away for 5 friends. The local is perfect - a 2 minute walk from the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water but down a side street so blissfully quiet. For such a great location, it was even better to have off street parking at the back of the property. The cottage has a cosy lounge with a dining table, well equipped kitchen (although the dishwasher wasn't working properly), downstairs bathroom, and three bedrooms upstairs (one with an en suite). The house was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. There were some nice touches like a box of local ...more
We really enjoyed our stay at Hyde Tyning Cottage. It was very well appointed, very clean and very comfortable. The location was great - tucked away at the end of a lane with lovely countryside views. We would definitely stay there again.
Peaceful and comfortable cottage with friendly and helpful managers. Peaceful and comfortable cottage with friendly and helpful managers.
Probably the most amazing house you will ever stay in. Paul the caretaker was attentive and knowledgable but always in the background for your needs. The house was decorated beautifully for christmas,it looked like it was out of a magazine. We hired a private chef for 10 adults from Dineindulge, and the service and food was 1st class. All in all a perfect winter break.
A lovely cosy, warm and welcoming cottage - very well equipped throughout, with thoughtful touches, and very comfortable beds. All of which made our stay all the better, thank you.
A nice large property in a good location. The location does create a problem as there is no phone signal so you are reliant on the WiFi/internet. Unfortunately the internet failed throughout our visit so we felt cut off. The cost reflects the size of the property but the provision is a bit basic. Lovely comfy beds but no cupboards to store food in the kitchen. Cottage accommodates up to 10 but seating for 5-6 at most. Very clean and warm.
For our international group of friends, The Stables provided a relaxed and flexible living space, just right for our time spent in the centre of Bath. Coming home to a garden full of bird-song amidst the trees and hills above Batheaston was a lovely way to end each day.
A beautiful cottage with lovely views, walks on your doorstep situated on a quiet no-through lane and within reach of all the main Cotswold attractions. Parking for 2 cars is a few steps down the lane which wasn’t a problem, nor was the secure garden directly across the lane. The cottage was very well equipped and had some basic supplies which were welcome. The fuel for the log burner was also much appreciated.
This is a beautiful cottage in an excellent location good for both town and country walks. TH house was very well appointed and we had a very thoughtful welcome pack which included mince pies. We had a slight issue with access to documents prior to the stay but this was sorted out almost immediately with the excellent customer service would highly recommend.
Excellent stay in a house that's very well equipped warm and spacious Not the best of locations and outlook but near pool and facilties Great vfm
The property was ideal for our purpose. Lovely quiet location. We stayed for 2 nights only but had a wonderful time. Well equipped and very clean. No pubs on the doorstep but that didn't matter as we arranged to eat and drink at the property on one night.
Vine Cottage was lovely and everything we needed it to be! Juliet was an excellent host. We were there over Christmas and the heating and gas log effect wood burner were very effective in keeping the cottage snug. The parking space is very valuable in Charlbury as there are now parking restrictions for "on road" parking in the area of the cottage. It is very convenient for walking easily to pubs and restaurants. Although nice and snug, it is small and would not suit folk who had mobility problems (do look at the floor plans - it does show why very well) and dining could be a problem - but not ...more
The property was very comfortable and clean. The location was fantastic for our proposed visits, so our party all enjoyed a very pleasant weekend. The hot tub was a bonus even if there was persistent rain!
For a cold new year, Peach Cottage was a welcoming, comfy and warm place for us to spend the week. The cottage had everything we needed for when we ate in. Having Fire sticks on each TV meant we could also log into our streaming services. Whilst the mobile coverage in the village was poor, the wifi in the cottage was great. The only comment we would make was that the duvet in the main bedroom was for a double bed size smaller than the actual bed. Peach Cottage is in a lovely village that had lots of great walks nearby. It was a shame that the Village pub was closed for the week and if ...more
We had a wonderful stay at Church Cottage. It was very comfortable for our family of four and perfectly located for exploring all the Cotswolds highlights. The cottage was clean, well appointed, and exactly as described on the site. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. We’d happily recommend it to others.
A great place for a get together with good shop and restaurant handy. A little tired in places where cleaners will not recognise.
We had a wonderful couple of days. The house was beautiful and warm. Great living room space and kitchen and lots of room for all five of us. Thank you!
Beautiful part of the UK property well placed to enjoy the Cotswolds. Property in great condition. Clean and tidy
We love the setting of the Sudeley cottages and the access to the castle. Very comfortable at Archers cottage and ideal for a family group. Winchcombe has good pubs and great Indian restaurant. Cottage well equipped- only suggestion we have is that for size of cottage and number of guests then a larger fridge would be useful. We will return next year!
We came here for a weekend get away as two families with young kids this November and absolutely loved our stay. The cottage was so cosy and comfortable, really well equipped and in a fantastic location. We really enjoyed the local village and walking from the front door. The kids loved the upstairs bedroom! We will definitely be back thank you.
We stayed here for a few days. There were 6 of us. The cottage was exactly how it looks on the images. It did feel quite small as in parts, with 6 of us there. The cottage was nicely decorated with lovely quality items. The location was in the north of the Cotswolds. Great for walking. There are building sites both to the side of the cottage and across the road, no work was being complied when we were there. A little walk took you to the farm, which had some animal and a cafe. The restaurant there and the Turkish on down the road looked nice. The only problem we had was the downstairs toil...more
This lodge was fabulous. Spotless, loads of space and some nice touches. Would definitely stay again.
This cottage is amazing it’s in the heart of the slaughters and if you are a walker it’s the ultimate stop . So comfortable and lovely and clean inside and the welcome basket was a lovely touch !! Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here Lovely place lovely cottage and amazing walks!!
This is the second time we have stayed at the Cottages, and we love them! The location within the village and on the grounds of the Castle make it a memorable stay.
Cotswold Way Cottage was ideal for the 3 of us and in a good location for where we wanted to be. Lots of walks close by up to Rodbourgh Common an down to the canal. Close enough to get into Stroud easily. The only down side was the parking, it was a busy time of year and what with the pub over the road having no parking it wasn’t always easy to find any off road parking during the evening.
Thanks for the great place with a great location. Will definitely visit again. The cottage is a superb place with all the amenities to make the stay easy.
This is an ideal base for a visit to this beautiful part of the country. The cottage is very cosy, with everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay. Slight downside is that the wifi is a little temperamental - ok for day to day use, but didn't make it easy to watch Netflix etc! Small price to pay for such lovely accommodation. Winchcombe is a lovely town, with many independent stores and plenty of good restaurants/pubs/cafes to visit. It is a short stroll across the fields to reach Sudeley Castle (although if it is wet, a walk through Winchcombe to get to the castle is ...more
The house was in a great location and all the items you need for a comfortable stay were provided. It was warm with enough space to feel relaxed and not on top of each other. Very clean and the kitchen well presented with all you need for your stay.
A lovely cosy stay with old friends. A great dining table to sit around and enjoy a meal or glass of wine or two, although don’t bring too much food as the fridge is quite small. The garden is beautifully kept and the cottage has clearly been refurbished in the last year or two. We had a small problem with the shower which was very promptly resolved by the owner and there was true concern shown that it didn’t impact our stay, which it didn’t. We’d highly recommend a meal at the Woolpack in Slad and a wonder into Stroud for a coffee and to see the market.
The cottage was so cosy, clean, luxury, couldn't fault it. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch, we will definitely be back!
Highly recommend a stay here. Very comfortable and great value for money given the size of the property. Having a pub next door was really handy! Loads of walking straight from the door. We parked our cars up and didn’t use them again until we left
Stayed in cottage at Christmas 2025. Great location with excellent pub and restaurant close by. Really well equipped and full of character. Recommend.
Big anniversary and loads of guests/family. The property was very adaptable and fulfilled all of our requirements. Lots of room for a fabulous event and the outdoor space overlooking the countryside was lovely in the September sunshine. The booking process from start to finish was seamless. Easy walk downhill to the local pubs, Not so easy walking back, naturally!
Very well situated and well equipped. The house was very comfortable. Nice to find a basket of children’s toys which excited the 2 year old ! Would be nice to have shampoo provided but that’s a small point as overall the house was lovely and exactly as described
Great little cottage. Location was amazing and local pub was excellent! The walk to Bibury was easy and pleasant. Whilst the cottage was generally clean and tidy, there were some signs of damp in the kitchen, landing and main bedroom. The bathroom was clean and the shower was good, but the drains were very smelly and could do with being cleaned/de-clogged.
- Damp levels on another level. Toilet rolls buckle, dry towels become damp, jumbo wood lice roam the floors, mold on bathroom ceiling and blinds. No wonder the property is for sale. The moisture coming up from the basement room is insane and the constantly running dehumidifiers which you have to empty multiple times per day produce buckets of water. - One front door key and no inside dead bolts so if one person goes out any others are literally locked in and are unable open the door to get out. Seriously fire and safety issue. - Pre cleaning was terrible, hairs blocking bathroom sinks, ...more
We had a fabulous family weekend at lodge barn with family aged 6 - 92. Fabulous to have a large table to all sit round in the kitchen, ample equipment to cater for yourselves. Beds so comfortable and a lovely large lounge to all sit together, yet other rooms to escape to if wanted. Snooker table a big hit with all ages. Lovely enclosed garden and walks from the house in search of the wild boar you can hear. Highly recommend.
We recently stayed at this cottage in the Cotswolds and overall had a wonderful time. The location was perfect, easy to find, easy parking, and situated in a charming village where it was simple to pick up essentials. The décor throughout the cottage was lovely and made for a cozy stay. There were, however, a few things that could be improved. The towels were quite thin, and there were no basic supplies such as shampoo, laundry detergent, or coffee for the french press. The cottage also didn’t have a clothes dryer, which made washing clothes a bit inconvenient . The front door lock was diff...more
Great property in a lovely town great location to explore the Cotswolds and south west would recommend
Being elderly,no facilities within walking distance was a let down. We assumed that there would be a main line train station nearer to the property. The outside surfaces i.e. pebbles were difficult for less mobile adults. But the house was lovely and comfortable. However the aga needed to be switched on much earlier in the day or even the previous day for cooking.
Poppy Cottage is the most beautifully appointed cottage and in a wonderful spot in the Cotswolds. We stayed over Christmas and were greeted with a welcome pack full of essentials and rooms all tastefully decorated for the festive period, which made our stay very special and memorable. The nearby villages were a delight, with lots of lovey places to eat. We all enjoyed our stay and would wholeheartedly recommend to others and would most definitely return. Thank you Poppy Cottage for a most wonderful Christmas.
Thoroughly enjoyed our festive getaway. Lovely clean cottage in the perfect location. Would definitely stop again
The most lovely property to stay at with family, open plan and very spacious. Right in the center of winchcombe and great walking distance to shops and pubs. One of the best holiday houses we have stayed at
We had a lovely stay at 14 Vineyard .Street. It is very well positioned for easy access to shops and walks .
Suncroft is an excellent, spacious, well equipped and comfortable property. My only criticism is parking. The two parking spaces on the property are only suitable for small cars and there is limited on street parking available given the nature of he village.
A charming and beautifully secluded property perfect for unplugging from the rush and stress of daily life. The cottage was full of nooks and crannies to explore but big enough for the whole family to feel like everyone had their own space. The perfect place to enjoy the beautiful countryside but still close enough to beautiful villages and places of interest to explore
This is the second time we have stayed at the Cottages, and we love them! The location within the village and on the grounds of the Castle make it a memorable stay.
Overall we enjoyed our Christmas stay at Angels Folly, we arrived to a very nicely decorated front room, as well as a pile of unexpected lovely Christmas food gifts which was both generous and a welcomed surprise. As there was no fore warning that this level of food items /crackers were going to be supplied, we went well stocked with our own food purchases, so it did mean we had duplicates which could of been avoided if better communication had been given with the booking which seemed a shame It was our first ever Christmas stay away from home so it was important to us that it hit the righ...more
We had a wonderful 4 nights at Almsbury over new year. It was our second stay, having first visited for my 60th birthday in May, and we loved it just as much in the winter. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, with blue skies, frost and snow, so though beautiful it was incredibly cold outside but lovely and cosy inside. The farmhouse is exceptionally spacious and allows for generous social space as well as room for separate areas for those who want a bit of peace. We also love the fact that there are so many beautiful walks from the house. We didn't need to get the cars out once during...more
Me and my guest had a festive weekend at Sixpenny Cottage. It was absolutely gorgeous; the house itself looked even better in person than the photos on the website. The kitchen was amazing, nice and big and equipped with every utensil you could possibly need. The house decor is a mixture of French antique farmhouse with the bright vibrant colours made if feel warm and cosy. This paired with the stunning fireplace with wood burner made the chilled evenings a pleasure to sit around with a glass of wine. The location and the views of the Cotswold's are simply stunning. Bedrooms were equally as ...more
Whilst our stay was fine, it was disappointing to find the cottage on a busy road and not in the heart of things. Parking is difficult. Someone swiped the front of our rental car and drove off also - not specific to the cottage but the location isn’t the best.
We had a very relaxing lovely stay at Lamb's Tail. The property had everything we needed, was extremely clean and the view over the lake was perfect. The Lower Mill Estate is very impressive very well kept and with great facilities. We enjoyed going to the Spa for a sauna and swim which Lamb's Tail has spa passes included. Great walks on the doorstep and we loved kayaking which we rented from the Activity Hub. We will come back we had a fabulous stay.
We stayed in the Barracks a second time now. We felt very happy and found ourselves in a wonderful house in a small village with nature and quiteness we loved. And if we liked we visited the villages around with Culture, high-level shops and Restaurants and Cafés. And of cause we love sheep and cows and owls&Co. We will come back.
cottage had all the amenities you would need would recommend for a short stay of approx 5 days john
Brock Cottage is exactly as described on the Bolthole Retreats web site - a great venue for family celebrations
Excellent stay, lots of nice touches including a Christmas tree, robes and flip flops for hot tub. Kitchen well provisioned. Nice setting and walking distance to Bidford amenities. Worked well as extended family hired Siskin barn. Sofa was comfy but a bit low to the ground!
Excellent response to a minor defect in equipment Comfortable stay and benefit of entry discounts to other attractions
Lovely property with great location and views and well equipped, but we were disappointed to have to endure cold showers. The property manager was quick to respond, polite and friendly when we contacted her and she promptly visited to attempt to sort things out. Whatever she did however failed to last til the next morning. She was again responsive offering to send a plumber but it was too late as we were leaving that day. Another few small things to mention that certainly didn’t ruin our holiday but we would suggest are easy to remedy: - the email we got with directions stated the t...more
We absolutely loved our stay in Lucknow Terrace. The interior was so beautiful, attention to detail everywhere. It was the perfect cosy, comfy home to return to after a cold walk in the countryside! We all slept so well and enjoyed the sociable living space. Thank you !!
We walked in to a warm and cosy, clean, beautifully presented cottage with everything provided that you might need for a short break. The Christmas tree was a lovely touch. Great location, quiet and just a short (slightly uphill) walk into Winchcombe. The only issue was parking. Although there is a large car park, it was full in the evenings. Perhaps marked bays would encourage more considerate parking?
This house is spacious, modern and equipped with comfortable furniture and very comfortable beds. It is in a great area for walking and things to do. The only downsides that we had were both downstairs bedrooms had an unpleasant smell of drains. The shower cubicle in the en-suite was not as clean as I would expect either.
The lodge was great - combining an historic place to stay with great comfort - including a real fire in the sitting room and a new well-equipped kitchen. Bed super comfy too. Wood burning hot tub was a plus - remember to light it a few hours before you want to use it! Would thoroughly recommend
The accommodation was perfectly clean with plenty of amenities. It was great to have things like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, soaps, cling film, foil, as it saves buying or bringing them. The outlook was fabulous, looking across farmland and beyond. The hot tub was great and very clean. Having a log burner and a supply of logs made the evenings very cosy, especially after getting out of the hot tub in October! Location was great and you can walk into town, but you're far enough away for it to be tranquil. It would have been even better if the bed was a bit larger, like a king, ...more

After searching for 'the perfect cottage' for our visit to the Cotswolds, we decided on Swift Cottage for our early family Christmas gathering (3 adults) and it did not disappoint. Situated in the gorgeous village of Blockley, we were able to walk to the local Cafe, village store and two pubs. The cottage was very comfortable, including lovely beds, well stocked kitchen, two bathrooms and a lovely gas fire. The Christmas tree and decorations were perfect! The cottage has lovely views from at the front and back and we had fun walking to the nearby village of Broad Campden. We hope we can v...more
Lovely cottage a short walk to Sudeley Castle and Winchcombe high street. Had all of the essentials needed for a long weekend
This is the second time we have stayed at the Cottages, and we love them! The location within the village and on the grounds of the Castle make it a memorable stay.
Overall a pleasant stay at the Barn which was used as a base for a pre-Xmas get-together with extended family. The positives Barn was well stocked with crockery and glasswear with an extra fridge which came in handy. The Xmas tree was a lovely touch as we're the robes and flip-flops. Beds we're all comfortable. The negatives The starter pack was rather limited and there wasn't any milk supplied as suggested. We did have a heating/hot water issue as the boiler went a couple of times but we could easily reset it. There was limited hanging/shelf space in some of the bedrooms. Overall a...more
Stayed with my husband and two teenage children for 4 nights over Christmas. Lovely cottage with everything we needed, and even the bonus of a Christmas tree. Lots of parking and great central location to Winchcombe. Only downside would be number of steps up to the property which made unloading and loading the car hard work and wouldn’t recommend to people with mobility issues for that reason.
Had a lovely time with my family on a 2 night stay. Lodge had everything we needed and very cosy. Great location and lots of things/walks to do in local area especially during the summer. Nearby restaurants really nice. Would recommend and hope to return.
Stayed at Goslings for Christmas 2025, bringing our family together from around the world. A perfect house in an idyllic location.
Lovely little Quirky Cottage a stones throw from the centre of Tetbury with its lovely restaurants, cafes and shops.
We had a fab few days in Fishermen’s cottage, enjoying the fabulous Lower Mill estate. Ron was a helpful and accommodating host. Have recommended many times since! Teenagers with us had a great break with loads to do. Thanks!
Absolutely stunning place ! The walk on the caste grounds is great, Winchcombe is a lovely village. Plenty of sightseeing at the Cotswolds. We will be revisiting this accommodation.
The cottage itself was a great size and in a lovely location. However we did have a few issues on arrival: The postcode took us to Sudeley Castle and the What 3 Words was not accurate. We arrived around 4.30 on a dark, very wet day. We asked the attendant at the castle light show where the cottage was and he waived us further on. We ended up coming into the castle from the other direction and ringing the emergency number for help. We were at one point virtually in front of the cottage but it was so dark and there was no visible signage so we couldn't see it. I would suggest you have larger ...more
This is the second time we have stayed at the Cottages, and we love them! The location within the village and on the grounds of the Castle make it a memorable stay.
We had a lovely stay as a family of 8 adults at pilgrim cottage. The building is full of character will low beams & slate floors. It was comfortable for the 8 of us with plenty of living space & a large kitchen diner. It was well equipped, although we struggled with the aga style ovens & the heating had a mind of its own! The wood burner was very effective & we were never cold. The village is in a great central location for exploring the Cotswolds & a great pub around the corner.
Good location but quite disappointed with the property for the price we paid. From the photos on Bolthole’s website I expected this to be a very comfortable house and a reasonably high standard for a family get-together but it would appear that there’s a new owner (?) who has removed some furniture and is willing to spend less on maintenance and guest comfort. Most of the upstairs windows had mould on the surrounds plus leaks in the flat roof extension had resulted in areas of mould and the garden umbrella was covered in green mould (no response from the housekeeping team when I sent photos). ...more
We stayed in this cottage for the entire month of December. It is centrally located in the Cotswolds, which makes it a great base for day trips. The cottage was clean and well equipped. We had a great day and would return if our travel takes us back to the area.
We really enjoyed our stay at the lovely Hope Cottage. Highly recommend. Nuneaton is a sweet, tiny village close to lots of local spots to see.
Unfortunately we were disappointed with this property. It is significantly smaller than the photos show it to be. Whilst there are 6 beds, the downstarirs is not big enough to accomodate 6 people. We were a party of 5 adults and two dogs which was uncomfortably cramped. The kitchen could only accomodate 2 people at a time and only having one two person sofa & an armchair meant that two people either had to sit on a dining chair or on the floor. The lighting in the lounge was completely inadequate with there only being two table lamps, one with a very dim bulb and the other didn't work at all. ...more
A lovely Cotswold retreat in an excellent area. Very convenient to get around to several other villages. The property has an electric charger which was very useful. The garden that we could use was very inviting. A lovely relaxing stay.
It was easy to arrive with the guidance provided by email. The cottage was very comfortable, the only downside was that the corridor was very cold and the dining room/kitchen were difficult to warm up (cold coming on from the window frames and fireplace) but other than that it was great, the kitchen was fully equipes and we had plenty of toilet paper available (always handy if you arrive late). There was a working fireplace in the living room, and cards and board games for the family. We had a great time!
Four generations of our family had a wonderful New Year at Butts Farm. The house was extremely warm and comfortable, even with minus temperatures outside. The location was lovely for exploring the Cotswolds and the owner was very welcoming. There was plenty of space for all of us to relax. All in all, a perfect place to celebrate!
On entry to the building the cleanliness was very poor, on entry to the apartment we found multiple cobwebs on windows and Louvre sky lights, just lazy cleaning in our opinion. Clients asked to clear rubbish, strip beds, vacuum, and tidy towels in order to assist cleaners. We assume the allows more time for cleaning but this is not indicated inn St Kinelmn apartment. This is our 6th annual trip to the Cotswolds and the most disappointing accommodation
Beautiful cottage in centre of Tetbury. Wonderful New year's vacation location. An expresso maker would be a welcome addition. Steep grade just outside the door so would not be good for anyone with mobility issues.
Our second visit to Hill View Rise and we enjoyed it just as much this second time. The house is well situated for walking the area and makes a very comfortable base.
Landers is a very pretty cottage with a plethra of old beams, low ceilings, wonky walls and floors - its oozes character and as a house is really rather lovely. However, as a holiday let I think it could do with some considerable tlc. It all feels a little unloved. The house was not particularly clean, cobwebs everywhere and I had to clean the fridge out and worktops before we could use them. Most of radiators didnt work when we arrived so we had to bleed most of them where we could to get the air locks out. Once done the heating was great - except the largest and most grand bedroom which...more
Nicely situated cottage in the centre of Blockley - the perfect village if you want to be away from the crowds. Cottage was comfortable and had most amenities we needed. We arrived in the early evening in winter (pitch black), however, so the cottage was quite difficult to find as no lights were turned on for us to read the name outside (I’d recommend Bolthole retreats doing this for your guests in future). Housekeeper’s number was provided but didn’t answer or call us back to help find it. Outside of that small detail, it was a good stay.
In all honestly wasn’t that happy. Huge cobwebs found down the side of the sofa which tells me it’s not cleaned throughly. It’s certainly not best suited for families with small children. Staircases extremely steep and dangerous with no baby gates. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Location wise, situated in a beautiful village, perfect location for pure peace and quiet but I wouldn’t stay here again.
The location was great and the grounds extensive; perfect for our 3 children who spent a lot of time outdoors. The home itself was adequate from a comfort and condition point of view but was lacking in cleanliness. Overall our stay in this property was ok.
Fairly spacious accommodation, in a nice rural setting let down by a few things. The downstairs (bedrooms and bathrooms) really smell (drains), especially at the back. We decided to use the 3rd bedroom as a luggage room as the smell was so bad there, and the kids shared the bunk room. Both my kids complained of uncomfortable mattresses, something which they have never done anywhere else. Both had springs and wires sticking out. Property had been superficially cleaned but we soon noticed cob webs everywhere, sticky chairs and grimy sofas. Although the barn is set withing nice grounds with far r...more
While the location is great (in the country side, 5mn drive to Burford High street), the state of the cottage is in desperate need of serious renovation and not worth the price asked. When we arrived we needed to use the washing machine but quickly realized we wouldn't as it constitutes a health hazard. The mould is thick and black inside. When raised with the owner he confirmed it was cleaned a month ago which is very surprising given the state of it. I wish I could post the pictures and video of it. The downstairs bathroom tap wasn’t working and we had to ask the owner if he was planni...more
We had a fab weekend in Murray’s Cottage ! The cottage was immaculate and had everything you need. Beds were comfy and we had a great stay ! My only negative was the late check in time and the early check out time.
Where to begin? Long drive to property full of deep pot holes - not ideal in a sports car and very scary in the dark. Beautiful barn conversion in an amazing location. That's the positive. Negatives as follows: Took 20 minutes to unlock the front after considerable efforts - No mention of this issue anywhere. Could not lock on our departure. Freezing upon arrival. Heated by by underfloor heating which took 6 hours to warm up. Knowing our arrival time it would have been nice if the house was heated prior to our arrival. Were advised that first log fire would be prepared - Sadly it was not - J...more
We stayed at Gable Cottage for our first ever Christmas away. I contacted house keeping and Bolthole Retreats prior to our visit and was assured the property would be decorated for Christmas, and though family and friends said their properties were decked out for Christmas when they've gone away before (not to Gable Cottage) we still decided to take some things from home, including a slim line Christmas tree and we are so glad we did! The small Christmas tree by the front door I wouldn't really class as 'decorating the property' and would have been extremely disappointed if we hadn't taken t...more
We had a gorgeous time at Canons Court Lodge. The house was absolutely beautiful and had lots of space to spread out to. We loved the table football and games selection and the cosiness. We loved playing board games on the big dining table and cooking food in the lovely kitchen.
Lovely weekend stay at Mouse Manor. Really pretty building - stayed with my partner, two teenagers and dog for a weekend break in the cotswolds. Would recommend and definately good value for money. Particularly liked the Aga which makes it feel so warm and cosy at this time of year (October!).
We spent three nights at Oldbury Barn - was a beautiful property. Well located for local attractions and activities, the property was beautifully decorated and spotless. We were a family group of ten - two families with young teenage children and an elderly couple. The property had 4 large bedrooms, huge bathrooms (2 en suite) and plenty of communal living space. The outside space had stunning views and was very well maintained, with plenty of wood provided for the fire pit. It was extremely clean throughout and the customer service was excellent. I would highly recommend this property ...more
Had a fab weekend at this property celebrating a 75th birthday. The grand children loved the hot tub and playing hide n seek in the extensive garden .
Needs love: Playground is in disrepair, hot tub was dirty on arrival, no side access but fab house for a group if improved.
