The views from the sitting room window and the front bedroom are as good as they look in the pictures. Very quiet property, very well appointed with pretty much everything we wanted. 2 doors away from the Kames Hotel (well worthy of several visits) with several other great restaurants within easy reach (Thyme & Tide, Portavadie (really, a good meal), Fyne Raja, The Oyster Catcher ... No wildlife in the Kyles but we did catch a little deer eating the greenery in the back garden. Good wifi and mobile - better than at home. Secure parking. All in all, a stress free break. Wonderful.

Super place, in a fantastic location with stunning views from the property. Bute View is very comfortable, well equipped, and has great outside space with access to the water. The space under the raised deck was particularly useful to store kayak and bikes. Only suggestion for improvement would be to provide a cafetière or similar for coffee. Would return without hesitation.

We spent the first week of the 2023 school summer holidays at Bute View in Kames. Our group included 2 adults and 2 kids (primary school age).
On arrival the property was easy to gain access to and was very clean and tidy inside. The beds were well presented with plenty of pillows and cushions. All electrical appliances required were also provided (including a modern washer dryer and a small freezer). Laundry tabs for the washing machine and dishwasher tablets were also provided, which was a nice touch. The owners clearly take a pride in their property.
The view across to Bute from the living room and master bedroom windows was also amazing.
Outside the private garden area was very nice with well kept grass and plants. The private beach was a very nice bonus and our two boys really enjoyed spending time there digging and messing around like young boys do.
We visited the Kames Hotel for dinner one evening which was very good. The Kames Village Store is only a short walk away and is well stocked with the usual essentials…the staff are also very friendly and helpful.
We were booked to stay for 6 nights and the first 4 nights were great, very peaceful and quiet. Unfortunately on day 5 the upstairs neighbours appeared and were very loud. We could hear their TV and chatter clearly, their living room seemed to be directly above the master bedroom. This went on until after midnight. We decided to only stay for 5 nights as the noise from upstairs was off putting, which was a shame as the previous days and nights had been great.
Overall we would recommend the property but if you need dead quiet to sleep or you have young kids you might be disturbed by the upstairs neighbours if they are in.

We had a lovely stay here. Nicely furnished and very clean. Great being able to look out at the comings and goings of the yachts.
Not far from the local shop. Good amenities.

We had a great 4 night stay. Lovely, clean, modern, comfortable accommodation. Stunning views of the Kyles of Bute and walking distance of the hotel and shop. Great cooking facilities. Although, some basics like salt and pepper would have been handy or a little welcome pack. An ice tray would have been good.

Fantastic apartment with large windows so you can appreciate the view. Great storage space throughout and very comfortable beds and beautiful bedding Would struggle to seat 4 adults in lounge. Well equipped kitchen but a small table or breakfast bar would be good. The whole property was spotless. On our one day of sunshine we enjoyed the garden and exploring the shore.

From the moment of our arrival we were thrilled by Bute View. At a very stressful time in our lives it was the perfect 8 day retreat. In some ways, over-equipped, we were surprised by two omissions, a hairdryer (essential) and a bedroom mirror. But we coped (a visitor brought the hairdryer).
A wonderful place to stay. Our best ferry trips were to Tarbert as pedestrians and Rothesay, Mount Stuart by car. Loved it all. .

The ground floor apartment of the charming stone cottage is beautifully presented and affords a lovely view towards Bute. Lily was an excellent host. Location is ideal for exploring "Argyll's Secret Coast" and I have no hesitation in recommending it.
