We found the cleanliness could have been a bit more. The dishes were stained from previous use. We had to clean all before using them plus there was no dishwasher. No one would want their holiday to start like that.
There was emphasis on putting the rubbish out but when we put out on Wednesday it was full up to the top. We found that unhygienic keeping in mind the COVID times.
Rest of the house was quite clean.
There was everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable.
A dishwasher could do in the property.

We have been coming to Dorset for many years for short breaks but, have never stayed this close to Dorchester. It was excellent, the cottage was beautifully clean, presented in excellent order and real consideration had been given to guests comfort. It is 2 miles to Dorchester and we popped in regularly to pick up a takeaway from local restaurants (visited during the time of Covid so, only outside space open). The quality of choice of local restaurants was excellent. Would definitely recommend the Japanese, Thai and burger restaurants - as a rule, I never eat burgers but, these have to be tried to believe! Visited Maiden Castle - the oldest Iron Age hill fort in Europe - amazing and even if you don't think you are interested in history, the site and the views are outstanding. Overall, excellent cottage, only sadness was that they don't have a dishwasher but, the garden is absolutely delightful and is very well tended. Would recommend.
