An absolutely beautiful little cottage in an idilic cotswold village. Eric and Rob were fabulous host, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well care for. I would go back in a heartbeat, as would the puppy who misses racing around the open fields.
Just returned from our dreamy 2 week stay at Railway Cottage booked thru StayCotswolds. What an amazing experience from start to finish! The Staycotswold team was so helpful and super informed giving us personal advise and guidance on how to choose a property right for our needs. They spoke with us on the phone trying to bring to life all the available properties until we settled on the best for us….and our dog! All payments, information and plans went off without a hitch which made us feel super secure and free of any worry. And this good energy only continued upon arrival at our amazi...more
Just got back home to Scotland after a week stopping at the very lovely Slade Stables. Some holidays you tend to know are at an end when with two days to go you are ready to go home but with this one, we honestly felt like we could happily have spent another week at least. Jane and Ian are fantastic hosts, full of local knowledge and helpfulness but also respectful of your privacy. Its a fine balance and they do it very well. We are early birds so we tended to explore the local towns and villages before they got too busy and it is a really stunning area. Accommodation was first clas...more
Lovely accommodation in a fantastic location. The barn was perfect for a couple, everything we needed was provided and of very good quality and was in the he grounds of the owners property. We found it very private and only saw the owners on our arrival. We appreciated the provisions they left for us, including beer from the local brewery. The nearest pub and well stocked general store were only 2 minutes walk away (and another 2 pubs within a mile). We wouldn’t hesitate to book this accommodation again.
Everything you need fantastic grounds so peaceful def be back Great pub up road all family loved it. Clean well looked after properties plenty of utensils cutlery etc you name it they thought of it
Really enjoyed our stay, eggs from the farm were a lovely touch. Great base to visit the Cotswolds and surrounding areas.
We have just stayed for approx 30 days as we transition from overseas. The property is well equipped for longer stays and a good quality king size bed ensures decent sleep. The owners are on hand and incredibly helpful to answer any questions plus deal with any logistics. We explored a considerable amount of local area with great ease and multiple walking trips directly from the house to the myriad of pubs in the vicinity. Great place and wonderful landlords.
We booked Aurora for a short honeymoon after our wedding, and it did not disappoint. We wanted something more intimate and unusual than a hotel, and this property ticked all the boxes. It is beautifully presented, surrounded by gorgeous views, is private and the finishing touches were really sweet. We were welcomed by some essential food for breakfast which were really appreciated as it was late when we arrived, along with cookies and a bottle of wine, which was welcome after a long drive. It is also well located for exploring many of the local towns and villages. We will definitely be looking...more
The property is very nicely done and very well equipped with everything you need for our stay. The owners have taken the time to take care of every detail and the deco is lovely. We loved the location as is in a very quite area but very close to all the amities we needed ( groceries, walks, rides, train station, etc... ) We would definitely recommend it and we'd love to go back in the future.
The accommodation was fine a short break it was all we required Comment for improvements are that the outdoor furniture is very tired and requires attention.
What can we say about Wood Cottage, that people haven't already said. The cottage is a beautiful little detached building, tastefully decorated with everything you need including some nice extra touches (e.g. torches next to the bed, sensor lighting on the stairs, lighting in the garden. The cottage was spotlessly clean and tidy and the little enclosed garden is beautiful and secure. Carparking is on the road outside which can occasionally be busy, however this is not a main road. It is ideally located for touring the Cotswold's and the village itself is very nice, with the people very frie...more
This was our second stay at Twigs which confirms our enjoyment of this well appointed exceptionally equipped bungalow. Set in a quiet area of the South Cotswolds with access to many attractions.
Vespers is a really great place to stay with everything you need. The decoration and layout is perfect, the treats left by the hosts were so appreciated too and made you feel at home. It's in a great location and we loved being able to walk to the nearby pub and explore the countryside. The lorry by the river is a really cool idea and we enjoyed a change of scenery with some games and drinks by the firepit. We had a great time and it was made even more special by the fact we got engaged! We'll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone- thank you.
We stayed at the Old Stables for 4 nights and were very sad to leave! It is small but perfectly formed and worked very well for our family of 4. Nicely decorated with thoughtful touches, great wood burner, powerful shower, comfortable beds. Excellent location to explore the Cotswolds. Owners very friendly and welcoming. The kitchen is small but well equipped. We would definitely come back.
This was the perfect venue to celebrate a 60th Birthday with family. Accomodation was immaculate and spacious. Everything we needed was provided on site. The party room was perfect for our event and the huge paddock area was ideal for the children. We booked the whole venue and had the most fantastic time.
The Reading Room is even nicer than the photos online. It was very clean and there was literally nothing they didn't supply going over and above your usual self catering stays. We were so impressed with everything! The little garden was lovely and private. It was next to a road but was very quiet during night time so was never an issue. It is close to the high street so you are never far away from pubs, cafes, etc.
The barn was absolutely amazing. It was clean and looked exactly like the pictures. We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of items available for use in the kitchen (from several herbs, oil, etc. to the pots and pans and utensils). The surrounding areas were quiet and very spacious, we were able to take walks down to the river. All in all, we had so much fun and we would 100% visit again. Thanks for having us!
We had a lovely week staying at No.4. Great food and drinks at The Bull (just opposite the flat!), great local markets in Cirencester (Saturdays) and in the village (Wednesdays), really nice dinner at Thyme (a short drive) and stunningly beautiful walks. The flat is very very comfortable (though you should be aware that it’s quite far (down a passageway, up lots of steps etc) to bring your luggage in so not ideal if you’re infirm. It was fine for us and wasn’t a problem. We enjoyed the wine that was left for us thank you! Also liked the efforts to be environmentally aware. Perhaps this could b...more
Fabulous few days stay at Prince cottage for our 3 generation party. The downstairs bedroom and en-suite was perfect for my 83 year old mother. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, well equipped and perfectly located for a visit to Oxford and the Cotswolds. Just what we needed after a difficult few weeks.
We stayed in The Barn. The accommodation is very spacious and is extremely well appointed and equipped. We arrived after a long flight from South Africa and were very pleased to see all the necessary little things like coffee, tea salt and pepper, dishwasher tablets, surface cleaner etc. The place is spotless, the beds large and comfortable and the towels are white and fluffy. The setting is beautiful and peaceful with a large lawned area outside where our grand-children enjoyed kicking a ball etc. Close by there is a co-op in Stanford-in-the-Vale and approximately 10mins away in Faringdon ...more
great little place. Had everything we needed except hand soap in the bathroom. Brilliant location for restaurants and pubs in Stow and a short drive from other beautiful towns. Easy parking. Very comfortable and clean and easy to check in.
Had a wonderful stay at Old Brewery House with family, the location & weather was fantastic. A wonderful spacious house with so much character. The surrounding area and the brewery make it a very memorable place to stay. It is also close to Stow on the Wold for shops & amenities
Pear Tree suited the 8 of us beautifully. A great location for walks and cycling not to mention the pub! The house is very comfortable with plenty of space to gather, or relax We had a couple of questions whilst there and they were addressed promptly and were very helpful.
We spent 2 1/2 weeks in this stunning home in October. We loved every minute. The house is a beautiful mix of history and modern convenience. Perfect for a family reunion or a couples vacation. The location is amazing, one block from the high street of charming Burford. The owner was very accommodating and helpful All in all, an excellent and memorable experience. We will definitely be back!
Excellent cottage in perfect location to get away from it all. Nothing on the doorstep so bring own essential provisions. A beautiful, peaceful spot.
Perfectly presented property for a relaxing break. Great location with open fields well away from any busy roads.
We have adored our time at Rose Barn. The living areas are spacious and beautifully decorated, the beds incredibly comfortable and the outdoor area so well thought out. We should have planned to BBQ in that fabulous seating area! The kitchen is remarkably well stocked, with every appliance and lovely plates & glassware which is, in our experience, rare for a rental property. We did one of the recommended walks nearby along the Thames path to the lock keepers’ cottage which is delightfully peaceful and picturesque. We hope to return soon! Sophie
House is beautiful, great set up for a family gathering or party. Very remote and peaceful, only negative is you do need to drive everywhere. However location is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds and a visit to the local Brewery is a must.
We loved this house, & it was perfect for a large family gathering - two cosy living areas which suited teens and oldies, tastefully-designed rooms and comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen and a stone's throw from the pub and the village shop, There was even a decorated Christmas tree, to make it even more welcoming. On the negative side - it would have helped to have an extending dining table or a side table - it was just a tad too short for a festive meal, with not a lot of table space for vegetables. And the oven - it's just too small, so cooking for a group needs careful planning, and ...more
Good place to stay but very poor forniture in the kitchen. A lot of space in blossom bungalow ok for a whole family
Highly recommended as the perfect venue for a relaxing family holiday. Although a large house, it felt homely and inviting. Beautifully furnished with everything in keeping with the age and style of the property. The large garden and outdoor dining areas were well used. Games room and hot-tub were a big hit with all ages. A lovely country setting with lots of small villages nearby. A house and location for all weathers and age groups + pet friendly (with owners permission).
A very comfortable and spacious property which was ideally located for our Thames Path walking. It had a lovely garden and was quiet and private
We were in the middle of a difficult house sale and completion dates kept changing. We booked Fairfield cottage not only because it was very convenient but because Stay Cotswold have by far the most customer friendly booking system. We had to change dates twice but thanks to the help and cooperation of Stay Cotswold and Jaime Gould in particular , we were able to do this secure in the knowledge that we will get a full refund (minus booking fee) for the cancelled dates. This is in sharp contrast to other booking agents. I would be happy to recommend this company and would certainly use them a...more
Snipe Barn is such a beautiful property, very spacious and very well designed for adults, children and dogs. The enclosed courtyard is perfect, very safe and well laid out, with a large dining table and comfortable rattan furniture. The bedrooms are spacious with lovely ensuites and have the privacy you need. The kitchen has all the appliances you need as well as plenty of plates, glasses and pans. The lounge is gorgeous, however due to the beautiful weather and balmy evenings we never really used it. All in all a great family holiday with 3 generations after COVID.
We had a great time at The Curlew Barn. Perfect location for walking and cycling straight from the barn. The grounds are beautiful and plenty of space for my grandsons to play football.....almost a full size football pitch! We will definitely be returning. Loved it!!
This is a lovely property. We had a couple of issues, most notable was the dog hair. It was on the bedding, carpets etc. The property had obviously been cleaned, but if you are going to allow dogs then you have to clean better than that. I like dogs, I don't want to sleep in other peoples dog's hair. Also, I had requested twin beds for the children and their bed was made up as a double. I managed to split them myself and just about find anough bedding to do the first night. Oh, and there was no washing up liquid or dish cloths, the kind of things that you would expect to just be there. Havi...more
Only drawback was a fan noise that was very loud at night, particularly in twin bedded room. Sounded like a mighty storm enough to keep occupants awake. We couldn’t find out what or where it came from. Otherwise all good.
Our stay was between Sept 2020 until Feb 2021.During this time we found the apartment comfortable and very well equipped. The location within the High Street of Burford was excellent and with sufficient shops to support our needs without having to drive. The only issue if you have a car is parking especially during the summer season when the town is crowed with tourists. The staff at Staycotswold were very friendly and helpful.
We had a wonderful family stay at Upton Downs. The house is spacious and very comfortable and having the farm shop and smokery next door was great. The garden is huge and the toddlers loved running around and picking apples. There were a few essential things missing: no towel rails or toilet roll holders in any of the bathrooms. No large bowls for salad or pasta and no salad spinner. Having these would have made our stay even better.
We had a lovely stay in the delightful Flower Barn. A welcome pack was provided which was much appreciated. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and in a peaceful location. I would highly recommend Goodlake Barns.
The apartment was clean, in a good location and had a lot of amenities. However the water pressure and lack of hot water were real issues during our stay. I had to shower at my cousin’s house because the water pressure in the shower was so weak that I couldn’t wash my hair. The shower was also cold and the water in the sink was the same which meant that we bathed our 7 month old baby in lukewarm water. This was really disappointing especially for the price that we paid to stay there and so we won’t be recommending this apartment or staying here again.
We loved our stay at Honey Cottage, so cosy and well placed. The grounds were gorgeous, and so peaceful, with plenty of room for the dogs. The fact that we could wander down to the Thames within the private grounds was a real bonus. The Thames path was easily accessible, with glorious walks each way, with plenty of pubs to try out! Just a fabulous location and we will return, perhaps with more of the family!
We arrived to find the cottage immaculately clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and had been dressed with high quality bedding making it difficult to get of in the morning!! The cottage was furnished well and the little touches of candles and throws gave it a cosy feel. The cottage backed on to a paddock and orchard. Bob one of the resident horses was always pleased to see us and kept us company throughout our stay. The owners of the property Bobby & Sue were lovely people, always checking we had everything we needed if they saw us making us feel very welcome! Can’t recommend this little ...more
Beautiful Cottage in a wonderful location but having necessary amenities nearby - shop, pubs. Area great for walks and for discovering the Cotswolds
We spent a wonderful pre-Christmas weekend with our children and grandchildren in this very comfortable and atmospheric cottage. It was very well-equipped with a wonderfully practical kitchen which enabled us to cook a celebratory meal for us all and very comfortable lounge where we were able to enjoy an evening of charades in front of a roaring fire! We explored the quintessentially Cotswold village of Filkins and ended our weekend with a wonderful lunch at the Five Alls pub which has a well-deserved great reputation and was only 5 minutes walk from the cottage. The booking procedure was very...more
