My friends and I enjoyed our stay at Tansie House. It's a great location for a stroll into the town and pubs, with plenty of room to chill.
We had a lovely weekend in Bibury, the accommodation was very pretty and we would highly recommend! Very close distance of 2 pubs and plenty of nice walking routes
Bakers flat is in a fantastic location & is beautifully done up inside, making it very comfortable to stay in. We enjoyed having all the amenities on the doorstop & loved Cirencester park which was a 5min walk away. Maddie the host was easily contactable & very helpful.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning cottage, and I can confidently say it exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beautiful interiors—everything was tastefully designed and felt incredibly inviting. The cottage catered to all our needs, with ample space for our family to relax and unwind. The garden was a perfect size, offering privacy and a serene atmosphere that made our time outdoors truly enjoyable. Despite being right in the center of the village, the location felt secluded and peaceful, allowing us to truly escape fr...more
Had such a fabulous week, host as so friendly and accommodating. The house is warm and has everything we needed. The hot tub was warm and ready to go when we arrived. The area is dog friendly, we went into Whitney and had lunch a few times, very welcoming town with the best dog friendly pubs and cafes. The blue boar was our favourite. Would definitely recommend the area and Holy Tree house.
Spacious, cosy, well equipped, very clean property. Very comfortable and warm. Close to all shops, restaurants. Joe and Sheena very friendly and helpful. Great location for exploring Cotswolds.
The Butcher's Flat is absolutely beautiful. Lots of space for 2 couples. Beds very comfortable. Very clean and everything is of a high standard. Great location in the high street, near all amenities. Highly recommend
Absolutely loved River Cottage. The correspondence we received before our visit was excellent and very informative. You have your own portal to use which has great information about the cottage and local area. The cottage itself is amazing with plenty of space, lovely secure garden and everything that you need for a relaxing stay. The bed was extremely comfortable with plump pillows and a nice large bathroom. Just a short 5 min walk takes you into the centre of Winchcombe with a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. We can recommend the Corner Cupboard Pub, The Old Bakery and the Tipsy Egg. ...more
We had a fantastic weekend and the house was brilliant - we will definitely be returning in the future
We had a lovely stay and everything was really clean and modern. The hot tub was a win for the kids and it was in a really good location. Kevin looked after us after a mix up over beds, great customer service. Try the Chequers for an excellent roast
Very beautiful laid out small annexe with everything you need. Quiet and peaceful great looking out into the fields with lots of pheasants and other birds to watch. Plenty of places to visit in close proximity and nice eating places which we enjoyed. Would definitely recommend as a great place to stay in the Cotswolds
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at this cottage. It was perfect. We brought our 6 month old daughter and had everything we needed for her, cot and highchair. We had a lovely bath in the cold as well! The cottage was in a perfect location close by to a couple of pubs and great walks! The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The property manager Stuart, was super lovely and helpful too! Couldn’t recommend highly enough!
The old schoolhouse was in the perfect location a couple of minutes from the centre of Stow . It was very comfortable and was the perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds .
Our family had a lovely stay over the holidays. The host was friendly and accommodating and shared information about walking trails around the property which was great for us to be able to walk the humans and the dog. It was also fun to walk to the nature reserve to see the infamous cheese rolling hill. The home was very clean, warm and inviting and they even decorated for the holiday which was a pleasant surprise! We had plenty of space, the kitchen modern, with a good size refrigerator and was fully stocked with pots, pans, and baking dishes so we would prepare meals. The sleep...more
We had the most wonderful time at Rex Cottage, it was so comfortable and well-equipped. Plenty of room for four adults, and the woodturner made the place really cosy. The surrounding area is great for walking, and pottering around beautiful villages and towns - we'll be back!
We loved our stay at Fox, the property is well equipped and is very spacious and comfortable. The property owners are welcoming and accommodating. The property is a working farm but this didn't impact our stay at all and it's great to have walks directly from the doorstep. Ideally base for visiting different villages in the Cotswolds.
When I dreamed of staying in the Cotswolds, it included quaint villages, intimate pubs, quiet walks, adorable cottages, and a step back in time to be relished by moments that matter in life. That's exactly what the Gardner's Cottage and the village of Ilmington provided -- an idyllic cottage where I could have sat in the sunroom and sipped on lattes all day while watching the smoke plumes from nearby cottage chimneys. The house was so thoughtfully imagined and meticulously designed that I never wanted to leave. I even told the owner, Jeremy, that he may have to drag me out when it was my ch...more
The Sheiling is a wonderful retreat. Perfect for couples and still room for a four legged friend. Don’t expect to cook up gourmet meals but it has all you need for light refreshments. With the abundance of lovely pubs in the area it’s a perfect excuse not to cook. The space is compact but well layed out and the log burner makes for a super cosy feel. The view out is wonderful and the road is super quiet. Totally restful and peaceful
Amazingly well restored mill cottage that incorporates and preserves the old water mill machinery. It also has a lovely dining / sitting room area for bringing everyone together. The weather wasn’t exactly kind to us in mid February but that didn’t matter. The hot tub works well whatever. I had a lot of fun playing trains and farms with my grandson, (not included).
This is our second visit to this gorgeous property. We can't fault it, everything is superb, the house is beautifully refurbished with attention to detail, the welcome pack, the comfortable beds and the location, only 5 minutes walk from the station with many restaurants/pubs within striking distance. We will definitely return for another visit
The beautiful Stonelands cottage is situated in the perfect location just outside the jewel village of Burford in a secluded area. The cottage itself is very well maintained and has all what is needed including high end equipped kitchen, two cosy living rooms, very comfortable beds, and a lovely family design. The house boosted by a beautiful garden and plenty outdoor space to enjoy. Our family enjoyed staying at Stonelands, and would love to come back again.
Lovely stay, very cosy cottage, super well-equipped house, great location. We all enjoyed the stay..
We enjoyed staying here and have booked again. The owner was next door and went out of her way to help us. Excellent bed linen, towels and facilities. Comfortable beds, sofs and chairs. Very usable kitchen, easy to use shower controls (a huge bonus!) and lots of hot water. Very comfortable cottage for 3 adults but 4 might be a bit tight. Only two liitle minus points: would appreciate reading lights by the bed and would like an oven proof caserole dish. Some might find the freezer space too small.
We had a fantastic stay in Shakespeare cottage, everything was ideal. The location is great, everything is within walking distance and there is buses nearby to visit further away attractions like castles. The comfort of beds, sofa and armchairs really allows some relaxing time, with a colourful and elegant decoration. Cleanliness is spot on, as well as the equipment and space, ideal for 6 people. I just can't find anything negative to say about this place, it was perfect ! A really good value for money too. Thank you very much
we had trouble locating the rubbish bin.cottage nicely appointed with more than adequate kitchen equipment
The house was amazing, beautifully decorated and well equipped, it was the perfect house for 3 grown up couples to spend time together but also have their own space. Its location in the town is ideal to enjoy the many beautiful walks or savour the delights of its many pubs, restaurants and tea rooms. We were lucky to have sunshine in March so also made good use of Pinckney’s garden, which I’m sure in the summer is beautiful as all the buds were coming out. I’m sure we’ll be back, hopefully for a longer stay next time, still so much to explore. Thanks for letting us stay.
Everything about our stay at Twigs was amazing. Coral was so helpful and friendly, even putting out a sign on the street on the evening of our arrival so we would know where to turn in. The kitchen has a full-sized side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, which was great for storing food for our 6 night stay. The welcome pack was very appreciated. Best water pressure we've ever had in the shower - absolutely amazing! Gorgeous gardens to sit out in the morning or evening, after touring around the Cotswolds. Evening dinners at the Bell Inn Langford were great. Can't say enough positive things ...more
Lovely stay at archway cottage, spacious cottage in a lovely location. Village has a shop cafe and two pubs. We would stay again and would recommend !
A bright warm well equipped house perfect for large family groups where everyone got space and a bathroom. Easy living and very sociable experience. Good location. Owners were very helpful and showed us their resident horses and sheep which the children loved. Great birthday weekend.
The shepherd's hut was perfect in every respect. It provided us with excellent accommodation, and the gas effect wood burner was great for keeping the temperature just right. Super setting with lovely views and great walks nearby including a nice 20 minute cross fields walk to the pub. There are also plenty of places to visit within short driving distances.
A fantastic house centrally located within walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants. The house was warm and cosy with everything we needed during our stay. Would definitely recommend.
The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Located in a quiet residential area just five minutes walk from the main square. After I booked the property I received an email to say that the washing machine had been swapped for a dishwasher. For me, a washing machine is the preferred option. Apart from that, I would recommend this property. It’s a great base for exploring the area.
We had an excellent time staying here. Loved the cottage the and found it very well equipped. It was even better in person than the photos on the website. Communication beforehand was excellent. It was perfect for our party size The only thing we could think of that was negative was that it would be nice to have some Christmas decorations and one of the sofas was a little bit hard
Super cosy little cottage. Perfect for two people and a (not huge) dog. Brilliantly located, minutes walk from a number of pubs and shops in town but on a really quiet road. Everything has been thought of; pre-made fireplace, instructions to do it yourself, shoe dryer, soft blankets, games and puzzles for the inside days, guides for walks, pubs, food etc on days out. Loved it.
Our stay at Old Rectory exceeded our expectations in all areas. Beautiful property with very spacious living areas and bedrooms easily accommodating 14 people including 4 children and a dog. Although it was freezing outside (middle of January) the inside of the property was warm and comfortable in all rooms. Very comfortable beds and bathrooms equipped with all the essentials. Fabulous big kitchen and dining room again equipped with everything one would need to feed a small crowd. Welcome supplies of coffee, tea, milk etc supplied and much more. We definitely want to come back and experience...more
Very modern and well furnished accommodation Very peaceful. Warm and friendly welcome. Highly recommend for a stay to the Cotswold.
Really lovely place. Very clean and had everything we could need. It was very close to Cirencester it only takes around 15mins to walk over. The fireplace was lovely and they sell wood at the spar literally 30seconds walk up the street. Would come again :)
We stayed at Molls Yard for 4 nights The property is very characterful and beautifully appointed It was the perfect base from which to enjoy the area The logistics were straightforward and the agents were extremely helpful It has a feelgood factor and we would not hesitate to book it again
We stayed at Enoch’s cottage for the weekend in February. The cottage was beautiful, impeccably clean and well equipped . It is situated just off the main road through stow so is in the best location. It was the perfect weekend and we have recommended to all of our friends. Would definitely stay here again.
This is a beautiful property in a beautiful village. The Brewery is gorgeous, well appointed, beautifully furnished and extremely clean and tidy. We had a wonderful weekend there with our family. Simon was so helpful both before we arrived and even whilst we were there. Literally just a few steps from the high street it is prime location. We did a lovely walk from there and ate in Wild at Bull - a wonderful experience. We would all highly recommend the property. Thank you Simon.
Great location in Burford and for visiting other Cotswold villages and towns. Ostlers is well equipped and very comfortable, comfortable beds with lovely cotton bed linen. Would be happy to book again.
Overall this is a lovely property in a great location. We wanted a quiet stay in a warm and inviting property and this certainly fulfilled the brief! We loved the log fire. If we had gone at a later date I’m sure we would have appreciated the large garden. A few small touches would make it more welcoming eg there was little or no hand soap in the bathroom but such small things didn’t spoil our stay.
We had a great weekend in North End House. Everything was extremely comfortable (great beds and hot showers) and really well equipped kitchen. The instructions were clear and the team very responsive. The cafe and coffee shop in the village were great and we loved that there were 2 pubs within easy walking distance of the house. Everything was extremely comfortable and really well equipped kitchen. Location was great for public transport (train) to and from central London for our son and also great for exploring all the neighbouring villages.
Highgate was one of the nicest places we have stayed in. Comfortable and more spacious than it looked in the photos with everything you could want for a most enjoyable stay especially as we had a week of sunshine. Definitely would like to return.
3 couples met up and all agreed that we had a fabulous stay at Owls Roost. Surburbly comfortable beds with beautiful bed linen. Warm on the coldest weekend of the year. Beautiful views over the fields. Quiet surroundings. Helpful hosts when needed and on arrival. Well equipped. What was not too love. 5
Our weekend at Will's cottage was nothing short of amazing - the location is great, with a few public footpaths at our doorstep for a morning walk and a short drive from things to do like Stroud farmers market, Coaley viewpoint and Woodchester Park to just name a few! The cottage was well insulated (minus degrees outside but still warm without even having to turn the heating on), spacious, clean and well equipped - we'll definitely be back again.
Overall a lovely clean cottage ideally placed in the centre of Stow. We found the downstairs cold and had trouble lighting the fire. We appreciate our stay coincided with a particularly cold spell of weather. We have open fires at home and are adept at fire lighting but it wouldn't get going even after buying our own kindling. We suspect that the logs weren't seasoned. Some minor points. The extractor in the bathroom doesn't work, one of the dining chairs is unstable and a mirror in the double bedroom would be useful
Lovely spacious property located within easy reach of local services. Good for parking. Comfortable beds and excellent facilities
This property was ideal for a week's stay with our border collie. We've stayed in various properties throughout the Cotswolds for many years, and this one was definitely the best, with comfortable furniture and modern kitchen appliances. The large area of grass round the property, and the easy access to a local footpath, meant exercising the dog and ourselves was very straighforward. Being able to park the car right outside the door made loading and unloading easy.
Three friends stayed for a weekend. We all loved the cottage. Super comfortable and well-equipped. It has all the convenience of being in town near the shops, pubs and restaurants but also great countryside walks from the door step. The Black Horse pub at Salford is well worth a visit!
stylish apartment , minutes away from main high street with lots of coffee shops, restaurants and shops. Comfortable bedrooms. Enjoyed sitting out on sunny terrace.
Knoll Cottage was just perfect, we walked into the cottage and just felt instantly relaxed & at home. It had everything you wood need. It was clean warm, the bed was so comfortable . Great spot to the local pub The Crown 18 steps from the cottage. Would definitely return and stay again
Just absolutely perfect for our friends getaway. 6 kingsize bedrooms, all en-suite. The main room was great for us, a very large open area with kitchen, dining and sofas all together. The hot tub just outside was the icing on the cake.
Really nice cottage great location and Tetbury is a lovely place. Parking is impossible on the street but the car park is 100m away which was perfect. Great communication from the owner
This cottage absolutely lived up to the hype and was just like the pictures. Self check-in was easy. Allison was a lovely host with good communication. The whole place was so charming, I was so happy to be there. I was obsessed with the wood fireplace and the spa pool. The cakes and bread on arrival added a wonderful homely touch and made us feel very welcome. The Christmas tree made our stay feel extra festive. I felt like Kate Winslet in The Holiday. I only wish we had discovered the parking permit for the car before paying for parking elsewhere. We stayed at the cottage 4 nights but it simp...more
Very comfortable and spacious. Lovely location with access to the gardens when open to the public. Good kitchen.
Walltree House is a beautiful house to host a family get together in. 4 well appointed bedrooms and several rooms to be together or to do different things in. The kitchen/diner/sitting space is well designed for large groups to chat/cook and eat in. There is also a more formal dining space, a cosy bar and conservatory for quieter times as well as ample grounds to explore. Our family, comprising 3 generations, had a wonderful and memorable stay. Thank you
We are fortunate to travel extensively around the world and normally stay in 5 star hotels. As on this occasion we were traveling with my brother / sister in-law they suggested staying in self catering accommodation. We found this property online and booked it. Given this was our first experience in this style of accommodation we were impressed. It provided space and it was nice not to have to walk through hotel foyers and even get our car parked. We come from Australia so booking online as people will know can be hit and miss, but we were very happy we chose this property and we would certa...more
The family loved staying at the cottage. It was a taste of The Cotswolds for us Australian visitors.
This was our second stay at Ridge Barn and we had another wonderful weekend. Location is perfect for exploring surrounding areas, and house comfortably had enough room for 6 adults 3 kids and 2 dogs! Everything you could need is provided and the house is clean, comfortable and just a real home from home. We look forward to returning next year!
We (two friends and a dog) had a lovely stay at Orchard Cottage in Hook Norton. The cottage was comfortable, cosy, clean en had everything we needed! The beds were fine and we (and our dog!) were perfectly happy here during our stay. The garden is very nice and the cottage is perfectly situated in the Cotswolds. Hook Norton is a very goodlooking town with friendly people, a nice shop nearby and we spent some time in the Sun Inn which has a very friendly staff and good food! From the cottage you can make nice walks and all the towns and places we wanted to visit were close by. We would lov...more
Thank you for a great long weekend at The Old Post Office. We were a group of 7 family members enjoying a weekend together. The accommodation was spacious and immaculate. It had everything we needed. The location was peaceful with a lovely local shop/cafe and pub where we enjoyed a tasty roast. We enjoyed walks in Ilmington, Broadway to the tower, Chipping Campden and Moreton in Marsh. I would highly recommend The Old Post Office if you are looking for a lovely place to stay.
We really loved our stay. The cottage was gorgeous and perfect for 6 people. The kitchen had everything you should need. The village itself was perfect - The Tite Inn is a great place for a drink, and the staff are really friendly. The Chadlington Quality Foods deli is just a minute's walk away, and is perfect for morning pastries, bacon from the butchers, and quality ready meals if you want to avoid cooking. We ordered pizza from the coffee shop opposite the cottage on Saturday night, it was fantastic. Note - book your slot during the day as it gets booked up. Chadlington as a location is per...more
I spent weeks looking forward to my stay. I have stayed at over 15 self catering properties in UK. Chapel House was charming and hard to fault. Loved the interior and architecture. Bed was a bit thin mattressed on a slatted base but OK. Could be a little chilly when wood burner not on, would have liked a thermostat. A property has to have 4 things for me: privacy, space, warmth and quiet. It had all of these. So 8 out of 10.
Excellent stay, great facilities and ideally located to explore the Cotswolds. Only downside was the garden not 100% dog proof, which meant early walks in dressing gown taking the dog round the garden on the lead. It wouldn’t take much to secure the garden and that would make the stay perfect.
Wonderful stay over Christmas for family of 7 plus pooch. The barns were warm, comfortable, clean, spacious. We felt immediately at home with very comfy beds, excellent en-suites, lovely wood burner, great laundry and pantry. The barns were ideal for hosting a group, with great space to gather together, especially the round table for Christmas dinner. The little barn even has its own den for kids/teenagers. There are lots of riverside walks, including to the local pub and the games barn (table tennis and table football) was good fun. No issue with other barns nearby. The owners were very helpf...more
The Reading Room is a beautiful, warm and bright cottage. There is something very special about it. I had a wonderful, solo, week long stay during January and just loved my time here. Jane and Bob are great hosts and they have thoughtfully provided everything guests could need. Unlike many self-catering cottages that are managed and serviced by other agencies where you have no connection with the owners, the owners of The Reading Room are available and their personal connection to the property shows, from the generous starter pack to their excellent and informative communication before an...more
We had the most wonderful stay at Cross Keys Cottage celebrating my 80th birthday. The cottage is very well equipped and in an excellent position. We were all very sad to leave and we had the most beautiful weather which enabled us to sit in the garden which is beautiful.
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage in the (close to the) centre area. Well and fully furnished. All needed was available. Good beds and sanitary facilities.
Everything about our stay at the Tew Farmhouse for a special family birthday was perfect. The Farmhouse was immaculate and more than surpassed our expectations. It easily accommodated our family of 15, including young children and three dogs. The farmhouse was finished to a very high standard and supplied everything that was needed on a day to day basis. The arrival and departure were very smooth and we particularly liked the freedom of arriving and being left alone to settle in. Contact numbers were available if any help or assistance were required. The one occasion we needed some...more
Fosseside house exceeded all our expectations. We had the most wonderful stay with all the family. The house was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped with more kitchen equipment than we could possibly need. The heating was very effective and easy to control. There was plenty of space for all eight of us throughout the house and the large dining table was perfect to sit around for family meals. We appreciated all the bathrooms and the games room was great fun. The location could not have been better, just a short walk into Bourton-on-the-Water. We walked along the road but also discover...more
We had a lovely long weekend at Fury Barn. The cottage was the perfect size for 3 generations to enjoy the Cotswolds. We had everything we needed in the cottage and even cooked a roast dinner. There were lots of fun things to do for little ones within a half an hour drive so we were very busy!
We were very happy with the house and location. Unfortunately it wasn’t ready at 5pm and there seemed to be a lack of bath mats.
Keeley Cottage, is in a great location. Very clean, comfortable and cosy. The kitchen had everything you could want or wish for. We had a fabulous time and will certainly book again. Thank you.
This was our second stay at The Old Dairy and yet again it really didn’t disappoint. It’s in a fantastic location, quintessential Cotswold village, very good walks from your doorstep plus so many places to visit not far away. The Old Dairy is so well equipped with a very lovely enclosed garden and very safe for a little dog too! I’m very sure that we will be returning yet again!!
We loved this property. It was very smart, well decorated and in a great location. We loved the kitchen which was well equipped and had a good flow. The heating system was spot on and felt very comfortable. The separation of 2 houses in one was very clever. Although the lounge area was spacious, it probably needed more seating for 10 people. I would highly recommend this house. Very lovely.
What a wonderful setting to stay in, our dog loved it as the garden is fully enclosed so we could let her out and explore the garden. The shepherds hut had everything you would need for a holiday. A microwave, hob and all the utensils and condiments you would need. We got there and it had a bottle of wine, tea, coffee and some milk. The wildlife was amazing, hares, owls, rabbits. The list goes on. A picnic area at the side of the Thames was a great spot to watch the boats go bye. Overall a wonderful stay in Vespers!!!
My daughter and I stayed here for a birthday treat and it is a fabulous property, right in the centre of Stow. Everything you could possibly want is on your doorstep and also close to other villages and attractions. Very spacious and comfortable property, and it also felt very secure being in the enclosed courtyard overnight. Great communication from StayCotswold. We will definitely book again!
A fantastic few days away celebrating two birthdays with special friends great place needs a little love and attention in some places. Location fantastic for visiting all local beauty spots and villages will definitely come back again.
Perfect for the short course we were running. Comfortable accommodation, great space and good kitchen that allowed sharing of learning over supper. Could not have been better.
Excellent in every way, perfect location for a village stay, everything we needed was provided, everything worked and was clean.
Had a fantastic stay, became poorly while there, but local surgery were amazing. The house was huge for two of us, but we had four nights in front of the beautiful log burner. The manager dealt with a request very quickly and we had a wonderful stay. Everything on your doorstep, yet quietly tucked away, we will return again.
We very much enjoyed our holiday n the Shepherds Hut. It it beautifully fitted inside. We hope to stay again. The only downside was the tiny fridge, which for us could have done with being larger.
This was our first visit to the Cotswolds and Fuchsia Cottage made our visit one to remember. The cottage is in a great location and has been decorated to a very high standard with excellent attention to detail. The kitchen & bathrooms were spotless and the beds very comfy. We stayed in the winter and loved having the fire on, we will definitely return and recommend to friends.
A very enjoyable midweek stay. Lovely accommodation within a 15 minute level walk of Bourton on the Water.
While the place was lovely and the area was great what completely ruined the experience was the harassment I received from the owner after my actual stay. Despite actually initially giving him a 5-star rating, he then personally emailed me because I had a question regarding the boiler that I asked him for help with once during my stay; I couldn't find the thermostat, which he could have told me where it was. In his unwarranted email, he tried to ridicule us and proceeded to let us know that he did not care for reviews and ratings, which puts such a sour note on an actual pleasant stay. If he w...more
Our second time in this cottage. We love it very much. Our only issues were the fire burnt the wood too fast. we couldn't seem to adjust the air flow. The ensuite bathroom is very creaky floor. Neither issue will stop us staying again.
The Cottage was very clean and the large bed was Amazing so very comfortable, I have severe Arthritis and herniated discs, and I had the best sleep, better than at home. The furniture in the living room for me was too low with my problems, but it was a lovely break away for us as we lost our Son this Christmas Eve just gone, so for us it was perfect, just wandering around the pretty villages, and towns, Thank you
Would highly recommend for a group - great space in a great location! Plenty of rooms and bathrooms with added bonus of a hot tub!
We had a fabulous few days in this lovely property. Great location in the village of Blockley. A very cosy, comfortable stay and we loved the attention to detail in all the rooms. Everything you need for the kitchen, and beautifully laid out. One recommendation would be a mirror above the table in main bedroom (mainly for the using of the hair dryer.) We made great use of the log burner and our little pooch enjoyed laying in front of it after long walks. We would definitely come back and recommend this property to family and friends.
We stayed recently for a weekend birthday celebration. The house was truly beautiful and all communication from the agency and owners was excellent. I would highly recommend.
We were here for 3 nights for my wife’s birthday. It is beautifully decorated and well equipped although we only used the kettle! It is so close to great places to eat but still fairly quiet. The hot tub is really big and we used it twice a day. Absolute bliss. We slept well in a very comfy bed and used the log burner every night. We took our smallest car which easily went in the garage. A few minor niggles though. There was no milk in the fridge for a cuppa and no firelighters and a tiny amount of kindling. Tesco express was shut for improvements for 2 days so we had to drive to Coop - not ...more
Great house and location ideal for a family get together. Comfortable and warm parking was ok by using the public car park nearby. Local bakery is excellent and supplies your milk!
Lakeside House, the property is not on the lakeside and you do not get access to the lake or grounds, accommodation is good plenty of space for our celebrations with the family, there is plenty of kitchen equipment but only one bedroom has an on suite and toilets did not flush properly, Also it would have been helpful to have a welcome pack with information about the let and local amenities, helpful phone numbers, etc. access to countryside walks was perfect. local pub which is next door is welcoming and serves good food .
We had a lovely stay at Rectory Barn. The facilities very good, it was also good to have 4 bathrooms. A lovely walk to the local pub.
We stayed at The Glen last week and had a brilliant time. It was roomy, quiet, modern and we wanted for nothing. Everything you might need was available within the cottage. We had our 2 dogs and the garden was perfect as enclosed due to the side gates. We will definitely be back
The cottage met and exceeded all our needs. We were made to feel right at home and Kitty and Dave were so helpful. We were very comfortable there and totally enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful accommodation as described in the marketing. Wood fired hot tub and the use of the paddle boards made our stay perfect! Perhaps the only comments from the guests were that it would have been nice to have a shower downstairs to shower off before/after the hot tub and paddle boarding but this was not a problem as all bedrooms had an en-suite which were lovely.
The Hayloft was clean and cozy and a perfect spot to stay in while we visited friends in Cold Aston. (Bonus walking distance!)
28 of us aged from 1 to 83 got together at Goodlake Barns for a long awaited four generation family reunion. There are very few places where you can get this number of people together in one place with suitable accommodation for all. And the added benefit of 'The Hub' room where we could all meet and eat together. Everyone commented on the high quality of the accommodation and facilities.
Middle Gable is a unique opportunity to stay in a very comfortable house which incredibly dates back to 1642. It is very well equipped, beautifully furnished and in a fantastic location in the heart of the Cotswolds. There are countless places to visit and many walks in the area. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and this is one of the very best, full of character and history. We will return and have already recommended it to our friends and family.
Great location, lovely views across countryside. Cottage had everything you might need. Only issues was, the beds where uncomfortable, you could feel and hear the springs. Shame, otherwise great.
Extremely helpful staff who aided us in minutes when there was an issue with the heating and finding the cot, all resolved without fuss and quickly. A vey well appointed property, comfortably furnished . A wonderful large kitchen/ dining area, with every piece of equipment one would need for cooking. A great selection of cutlery / crockery and drinkware ,all of a good standard. We went in February, so unable to take advantage of the garden and BBQ facilities, which would make the property perfect for a summer weekend.
Lovely cottage and location in the heart of the Cotswolds. Big kitchen and lovely cosy lounging areas. Local pub nearby offering delicious food and allows dogs and children in the restaurant. Have booked again for next year so would highly recommend.
Lovely cottage perfectly placed for enjoying the Cotswolds. Minor issues - no welcome pack , uncomfortable sofa and lack of basic cleaning products. Cottage was generally clean but didn’t like partly used food in the cupboards.
Everything was perfectly arranged and ideal for 6 adults and a dog. We appreciated the welcome basket and additional provisions, such as coffee, tea, sugars etc. This saved us the expense, particularly helpful for a short stay. Provisions for the dog was also a very nice touch. Good people and a very comfortable stay.
Beautiful cottage in a great location with lots of shops pubs and restaurants close by. We had a wonderful weekend and hope to return soon .
We arrived at the cottage on a very cold winter's night to no heating on whatsoever, and only one small log in the 'starter pack'. To say the cottage was cold was an understatement, it was positively baltic. However, once we bought some logs to get the fire going and put the heating on, it wasn't long before the cottage was warm and cosy. It was our 3rd visit to Honeysuckle Cottage, and even though it is a small property it has everything you need there and is a very comfortable space. It is very clean and well maintained with good quality furnishings. The location is great, extremely qui...more
Well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, nicely decorated and the location was ideal! Only observation were a few cobwebs up on the vaulted ceilings of the property. Couldn't find a hair dryer and this would be useful. Kitchen cupboard underlighting hanging down.
A lovely quiet place to stay with lots to do. Stow has all the amenities you need with a fantastic range of restaurants and pubs within walking distance. Trinity was a lovely place to stay. Clean, tidy and functional. I would definitely stay here again if and when we return.
We had a lovely stay in this cottage. We felt very welcome with a fresh Bread, Milk, butter and eggs. The table was already dressed up. It was warm and everything we needed was available. We would realy recommend a stay!
First time visiting the Cotswolds and wow I’m so glad I found this cottage. The attention to detail in each room was amazing, the cottage was so cosy and the decor was beautiful! Very pleased I found this cottage and love that it is dog friendly. Location is also great and the village is lovely! Had the best week away with my boyfriend and 2 dogs. Would recommend to anyone - amazing The host was also very responsive if I had any queries whilst on the stay. Thank you!
This was the perfect house for to have our annual girls school reunion. This is our 7th year of doing this type of weekend and The Manor House was by far the best accommodation we have had. Very comfortable, spacious and perfect for what we wanted from the weekend. We felt completely private with our own gated entrance and private garden and the hot tub was great, a must for our weekend. Very well equipped and had everything we needed. Location was great in terms of walking options and access to the many lovely areas the Cotswolds offer but slightly disappointed the local pub wasn't o...more
Lovely stay at Hillside. Great size rooms, extremely clean and very peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing we think could be done differently is some comfier sofas and some curtains up in the lounge just to make it feel more cosy. Apart from that it was perfect and we will visit again. Thank you.
The cottage was as described, ‘ A typical Cotswolds Chocolate Box cottage’ in a great peaceful location. Warm, well equipped and just lovely. The living space was comfortable and characterful. Perhaps a Bluetooth speaker in the snug would be a useful addition, as this is a great room to relax in after a days walking. As walkers we new the area well but again some walking maps etc would be helpful for visitors. Thank you for a lovely stay, we walked, cooked( well equipped kitchen) went out to eat in kingham and spent a day out on the train in Oxford. We will be back. A great week, thank you.
Beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings. Very clean and some nice touches, crumpets, wine and butter. Also a few bits for the dogs.
Prince Barn in the Goodlake Barn complex was a wonderful place to stay on the outskirts of the Cotswolds. It was within an hours drive of all of the key towns within the Cotswolds. The barn conversion has been done very tastefully with lovely furnishings within the "barn". A very comfortable place to stay for an extended period.
Stayed with whole family so glad to have somewhere that could accommodate us all. Unfortunately we did not receive email until we had left which was a shame as we did not need to take tea towels etc. Location of barn fantastic for exploring the Cotswolds. Love the unique touches ie Boule. Would recommend to anyone.
We had a wonderful family holiday in Abbots Cottage, with our 2 small children (aged 5 and 2). The cottage is even more beautiful than the photos and felt warm and cosy. We would love to come back. As a suggestion we would like to suggest perhaps installing a coffee maker, we missed that a bit. For the rest everything was fine!
A really lovely location which was perfect for a getaway with friends. We hired the stables and the annex for the 6 of us which worked perfectly. We loved the hot tub in the evening and there were plenty of lovely walks locally. James was incredibly helpful when we realised there was no oven for some of the food we bought and let us use the main house which was over and above. The zip wire was great fun (and faster than expected :-) ) A very convenient location to explore the area!
This cottage is ideal for a stay in the Cotwolds, being close to many beautiful villages, towns and places of interest. It's also walking distance to the local pubs. We had lunch at the Horse and Groom in Upper Oddington and it was excellent. Though quite small, this charming cottage was perfect for our stay - in a quiet location, beautifully decorated and well equiped. The owners have made sure that everything you need is provided for, including some coffee, milk, washing up liquid, cloths, etc. - small points but much appreciated. We loved it and really recommend it.
Warm, welcoming home, in a lovely location with views for miles.. the house is well equipped, homely and the fire is wonderful for the wet and windy days in Feb. Host was excellent, responsive and informative, and added some lovely surprise touches for the celebratory weekend. All of us said we would definitely stay again.. Thank you Would be good to have a 1 pager with what to do with rubbish etc - as the online info isnt as 'to-hand' as a 1 pager in the utility room would be.
This was mine and my partners first trip to the Cotswolds and we’ve come away from it debating whether we want to move our family to the area. The property itself is great, the weather really made a difference and was bright blue skies all weekend. Couldn’t fault any part of the property at all, comfy bed, lovely log burner and it was just 10/10. I’m not one to write reviews, but it was just such a great trip that I had to leave a note to say thanks. We visited Stow, Bourton on water, Broadway and Burford and it was a joy to visit each town/village. We will be back and we will ...more
We got sent a text message from StayCotswolds with a link to what three words to navigate to the property. Not being local, I simply clicked the link and followed it, sadly it took me to the middle of Oxford at rush hour, I had 2 young children in the car which was very difficult. I then navigated myself to the property postcode and it was another hour driving. What should have been a 20 minute journey from Burton on the water turned into 2 hours. This was a very bad start to our stay. I contacted Stay Cotswolds who were pretty dismissive saying it was what three words issue and not theirs, ev...more
Having stayed in hotels since 1999 for Cheltenham Festival week we decided to rent a house this year and we were really pleased with the decision. We are likely to do the same next year.
We stayed for a month in Manor Farm cottage and could not have been happier. The location was perfect for us, a tiny hamlet, that was so peaceful but only a few minutes drive to the nearest town. The cottage was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately it was too cold for us to enjoy the outdoor space but it was lovely and would be wonderful to enjoy in good weather. Staycotswolds were responsive hosts and I have only good things to say about them. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would definitely love to return.
On arrival we were struck by the way the original cottage had been renovated and modernised to such a high standard. The fixtures and fittings throughout were all of a very good quality. The heating system worked very well but we found it rather noisy but it was very simple to control so we could turn it off to allow us to sleep. The kitchen appliances were modern and good brands but we were unable to get the lower oven to work and there were no instructions provided. Although it didn't affect the enjoyment of our Cotswolds break we felt that it would have benefitted from a thorough spring cle...more
We had a lovely 2 night stay. The location was perfect and there are some great local pubs with food- People are really friendly. The cottage is beautiful. Need to take care in the shower as very slippery. Would book again! Thank you.
The cottage was very welcoming & cosy, perfectly located to experience the village & local sites. A home from home. The owners were lovely and it was reassuring to have their details, they clearly care about service and care for guests staying at North House. Had a beautiful family trip where we explored, bonded, reconnected with nature and discovered a whole new area. We will definitely be back for more.
The property is very tastefully appointed and in a lovely village. Everything that we needed was in the house and a nice touch was essential groceries etc. It was secure for our dog once the gate was closed. A great base to explore the Cotswolds areas with nice pubs within a short drive. Stay Cotswolds were very friendly and efficient.
Myself and my family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at shaven cottage in February 2025. The decor was absolutely breathtaking and kitchen well equipped. We were even left the basics to get a started for our stay which was much appreciated. We had a question in regards to the gate and called the number given and the issue was rectified immediately. You may have seen that some reviews state that it can be a bit noisy due to being on the main road, but this did not bother us in the slightest, plus earplugs were provided in each bedroom! The only thing I would recommend is not using the driveway and ...more
Amazingly clean and comfortable, especially nice to sit in the kitchen by the Aga and play games. Loads of space for all the family to spread out and be together and possibly one of the best properties for dogs that we've been to; especially the garden - perfect for whippet zoomies! Victoria was on hand and very helpful whenever we needed. We will definitely consider coming back again!
We stayed for a week during January. The Barn was modern, well finished and the underfloor heating throughout the property was fantastic as our stay was during a very cold week. We've stayed in Churchill before and it's a lovely village, and would highly recommend to anyone.
We had a lovely time staying at the beautiful property. Eastleach is a lovely remote village and is close to everything you would want to do in the Cotswold. Our stay was excellent but I did want to provide some feedback. Cleanliness - the waste bins in the kitchen were not properly cleaned and the vacuum and the area around the vacuum needed cleaning. The rest of the property was in perfect condition. Customer Service - it would have been nice if someone had answered our phone calls when we arrived and got lost trying to reach Eastleach and trying to find Hillview. We finally found...more
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is in a beautiful location close to lots of places to visit. Wonderful cottage and very cosy, welcoming pack was much appreciated.
Perfect location, very comfortable, clean and warm apartment with lovely interesting decor. Even parking was easy.
Very enjoyable stay at Tukes Cottage which is well equipped, cosy with open fire which was a bonus, and helpful hosts. It’s also in a great location, quiet road but only minutes from village centre. Just what was needed for a relaxing break!
Archway House is a beautiful place to stay, with parking, walk is 5 minutes through the churchyard to the shop. Centrally located within 10/15 mins to lots of lovely places, including Bourton on the Water. Pub around the corner
The cottage was great just a couple of issue. Window in bedroom needs a curtain to prevent light from bathroom.
Lovely place to stay in a great location - even the weather was kind! Well appointed and comfortable. A few minor maintenance points, which we reported, but nothing which affected our stay. Would highly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay at Lower Barn. Instructions for finding it & parking were clear and helpful. Great communication from the maintenance team to let us know it was ready and a nice surprise to have a later checkout on Sunday! Gorgeous cottage, it was lovely & warm inside which was a welcome respite from the -5 frost! Beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a weekend. The beds were also really comfortable! Perfect location for exploring Chipping Norton and surrounding areas - lots of supermarkets close by and we had a great meal at the Blue Boar pub a 2 minute walk away. Wo...more
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. The house was clean and welcoming. Only difficulty we had was trying to get in. The lock was extremely stiff and it felt like we were going to snap off the key it was that difficult to turn. We found some WD40 in the garage and used that which helped. From then on we didn’t use that lock. Would recommend this cottage for a quiet countryside stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming little Cotswold Cottage. The decor is calming and the cottage was cosy, clean, warm and very comfortable. We were appreciative of the welcome hamper on arrival which included some tasty goodies. The village is quiet and there are some fabulous walks along nearby public footpaths with wonderful views over the Cotswolds. Regarding the cleanliness, the oven shelves and trays were not clean, and a kitchen cloth would have been useful for wiping down the surfaces. Other than that it was all perfect and we would definitely like to stay here again.
Had a great few days, brilliant location, loads to see and do locally, the accommodation was perfect, just right for a small family with great facilities.
I had a wonderful fortnight at Lillybee whilst I had radiotherapy in Bristol. The cottage is like home from home and helped me with my treatment. In the ideal location with amazing facilities, coffee shops, pub and shop all within 5 mins walk of the cottage, plus many lovely walks in the area. I also had a wonderful weekend exploring in the middle of treatment and it’s such a beautiful area with so much to do. I can’t recommend this cottage any more highly. Superb.
I stayed at The Old Workshop for the second year in succession, as my base for the Cheltenham Festival. It's a perfect place for 1-3 people to use. It's comfortable, clean, easily accessed and has just the right facilities for a party of this size to be bathed, well fed and rested prior to four days of watching your punts tail off at the back of the field at Prestbury Park. Of course, Stow On The Wold is also a great place to get away from the whirling madness of Cheltenham in Festival week - so tick that box too, in fact with the heat being very much on Gloucestershire and it's rip-off ...more
The cottage is very beautiful and has been styled perfectly. The positives of the cottage were its location. The layout was very comfortable and very clean. Plenty of room for our family to stay for a weekend. The negatives were that the heating was unreliable (which wasn’t ideal when travelling with a young baby), the temperature would drop dramatically as times and the only solution was to reboot the boiler (not ideal at 2am!) the oven initially took quite some time to heat up, so when trying to cook dinner on our first night caused unnecessary delay. There are a lot of steps up to the cotta...more
Arrived early and was able to access. Location excellent for walk into Chipping Norton. Quiet area, parked just outside the door. Cottage had all you could wish for. I, being of an age, struggled a bit to work tv, as no aerial, so I guess through wifi, but multitude of channel options. Lovely little enclosed courtyard though we never opened the door. Easy process from online booking to leaving.
The Bakehouse is perfectly located on the hill of Burford. With three double rooms 6 adults were comfortably accomodated. A separate dinning room off the kitchen also allowed us to enjoy breakfast around a table with the separate lounge and fire a great retreat at the end of the day. This is a period property, so for those over 6 foot like myself there are a few beams and door ways to duck through including a narrow twisting staircase. However it does add to the charm.
Perfect house for a big group with many couples. Wonderful parking situation for a big group with many cars, directly on the property. Walking distance to the inner town is already a little far for families.
Lovely clean comfortable cottage with everything you need. Location good for walking and going into Stow
We stayed in Bea’s Cottage for a few days in November whilst visiting family in Cirencester, which is only 8 min drive away. We travelled with our two little children and got there in the dark, but the property manager had left the light on for us and the heating was on so it made for a really nice welcome. Darren, the property manager, was great throughout and communicated with us well. Even gave us a bit more time on the last day as he knew we needed to pack everything up with the kids! Beautiful cottage, very characterful and cosy! Lots of low ceilings and the stairs are a bit tricky wit...more
spacious for 4 guests with fully furnished interiors. 20 minutes drive to Cotsworld animal farm. Host is accommodating
Clean, warm (March) & comfortable house. We were a party of 12 plus baby so full capacity, there was everything we needed in the house. Stay Cotswold team were helpful & prompt to reply to any questions.
We stayed here before with the previous cottage company. It is now a lot less cluttered, but the cleanliness has not improved. Perfect garden for our dog to play in, good location with parking space to explore Stow. Nice and warm with modern decor. Recommended for a Cotswold holiday.
Myself and my husband booked the cottage for my 50th Birthday celebration with another couple. The cottage is lovely, with a huge cosy lounge and lovely dining/kitchen area. The only comment we would make is there is very little work surface in the kitchen so cooking for 4 or more people is a squeeze. The upstairs was perfectly laid out especially when travelling with another couple as the bedrooms were located at either end of the cottage and could be separately closed off each with a bathroom making both areas private if required. We did find it strange that there were no wardrobes for han...more
A comfortable and well-equipped cottage in a lovely, friendly village and with plenty of activity options within a 20 minute drive - what more could you want?
Orchard Cottage was as clean, comfortable and warm as we remembered from our first stay. Both visits were a cold week in January. Although you are told there may be noise from the horses, they are very quiet and did not disturb us at all.
Upper Barn is a beautiful property in an excellent location just off Chipping Norton high street. The Barn is excellently presented and was a cosy stay for a weekend with friends. There are a couple of improvements areas - the toilet seat in the main bathroom was broken and the shower seal was coming loose which meant water was seeping on to the floor. The hairdryer provided was also faulty. The kitchen was faultless though - fully equipped and some lovely additions of local butter, crumpets and milk was nice. Beds and sofas were also very comfy.
Excellent accommodation, very welcoming and easy access highly recommend to his place Nice touch of adding a Christmas tree in the barn for the couple of weeks before Christmas
Other review comments about poor internet (probably the whole village :(, the sitting room low uncomfortable sofas as well as the poor quality lumpy mattress in the 1st bedroom off the kitchen are agreed by our group as well. None of these issues (you might say) should be part of expensive holiday accommodation in 2024 - 2025 and could be addressed. One other issue hygienically wise was the cracked basin in the ensuite upstairs and the shower there needs are really good mould clean. Ambivalent about recommending cottage but will do so but the above feedback needs addressing.... How...more
An ideal location for a reunion of five couples. Good walking with various pubs to visit. One or two minor issues such as lights above bathroom mirrors did not seem to work and the kitchen mixer tap was missing a hot water lever. Bedrooms very comfortable.
We had a wonderful short break in Old Brewery House. It is very spacious, we were a party of 3 couples and a baby and we all had good sized rooms and ensuites. The kitchen was large and well equipped. I did take my own surface cleaner which was not provided. Pillows were poor so I would take my own if I went again! I thoroughly recommend the tour of the Brewery in a Friday.
A cute little cottage which is a great base, close to cafes, restaurants, shops and pubs. Plenty of lovely walks to enjoy on your doorstep. Only downside is the parking, although Sharon gave really clear directions to where we could park the car there were no spaces as there is currently lots of building work going on nearby and the workmen’s vans were taking up most of the lane. Thankfully after 5pm we managed to park once the workmen had finished to go home and they were not there over the weekend. It just made it difficult to drop our bags etc off.
Lovely cottage in a nice location. Although the place was nice, let down by TV not working properly and blocked sink in bathroom, which I cleared. Other than that, great.
We had a lovely time , the cottage is in a great spot and some lovely walks from the door . The house is very clean and cared for and we had everything we could require . The beds are super comfy and although stairs steep the thought of double sided hand rails would support anyone whom would find it tricky . The house has been beautifully renovated with care and love and this can be felt . We will return .
We hade a lovely and cosy stay at the Norton Cottage. With the 6 of us is was perfect. It was a pity the fire place did not work. And we smelled some of the cooking of the neighbors. But we really enjoyed our stay and location was good near the village.
We had a lovely 4 days staying at the old farm house and everything was just as we needed for a break with our friends. Under floor heating was great and we had a fire in the log burner in the evenings which was lovely. Beds all comfortable and bathrooms spacious and had everything we required. Parking area is very narrow so we squeezed the 2 cars as close as we could. All in all we would recommend the cottage as it is very nice and also in a good spot for visiting all the lovely villages and towns in the area.
We can't recommend The Byres highly enough. The cottage was so comfortable, clean and well-presented. Every detail was catered for and made our holiday very enjoyable. Located in a very pretty Cotswold's village with an inviting pub at the end of a scenic walk through the surrounding hills. Thank you for a great stay!
Enjoyed our return to the cotswolds and couldn't have chosen a better cottage. All facilities you need and most importantly it was spotless on arrival with the heating on and a very nice Christmas welcome pack. The owner Paul communicated with us on arrival to confirm we had everything we needed and kept in touch without intruding on our stay. Highly recommend cottage, well done Paul.
This house was absolutely perfect for a family gathering of adults with dogs. The house was very comfortable and well provisioned. Walks from the house were great with the dogs. The pub in the village was welcoming and the Post Office shop/cafe and farm shop provided some extra treats! With the location only ten minutes from Stow, we had everything we needed close by. The Fox at Oddington was an excellent venue for supper. A welcome and information book would have been useful. The week was a huge success so thank you!
Excellent property Waterhead Barn is in a wonderful location for our family reunion & 60th Birthday celebration. There was plenty of room for everyone with comfortable bedrooms. The kitchen was equipped for all our needs with plenty of fridge & freezer storage (Tesco grocery delivery arrived without a hitch)
We arrived at Star Cottage on a blustery December evening and has we stepped into the cottage were welcomed by a beautifully decorated ,cosy comfortable and warm home from home feeling. The cottage was well equipped so we were able to cook. It was ideally located so we did not have to travel far to get to some of the villages. Our stay was delightful and a lovely star to the Christmas festivities.
After checking in our host came by to check that we had everything we needed which we did. Cliff took the time to explain the walk across the fields for our dog. We found Rainbow Barn to be warm and comfortable, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the village without being too far away.
We booked Cedar Cottage last minute as Sykes Cottages cancelled our booking at the last minute, and while it wasn't the idyllic cottage in the Cotswold that I had hoped for, it was a very warm, cosy and comfortable retreat. We were a party of 4 adults (2 couples) and found the house to be the perfect size. Could be a bit tight with 6 adults. It was well equipped and contained everything we needed (basic instructions for the oven would be helpful). Being a new build it was modern, in excellent condition and warm with plenty of parking. The house is well located on the edge of Bourton on t...more
The property was excellent well presented and clean the instructions given before our arrival were very helpful. I would think this property would be a great place to stay in the summer outside look great.
Whilst the cottage is very pleasant and for the most part comfortable, it is in need of a little TLC. The use of cream carpet on the stairs and throughout the upstairs seems a bit silly in a rental property as it was really quite grubby and stained throughout. The decor needs rejuvenating along with some attention to the smaller problems ie: there is no plug in the kitchen sink (this was mentioned in a previous visitor’s feedback). Furthermore, there was no bowl either - they don’t cost much, please provide one or the other. There must be something about plugs in this cottage: the one in t...more
We had a lovely long weekend at pyatts pad! Living space is much larger than pictures and the log burner was lovely! Perfect location for trips out to cotswolds. In walking distance of local pubs and take aways Despite kitchen being small it is well equipped and was not an issue! Host left milk, wine and logs for the fire which were much appreciated! Highly recommend!
Brilliant. Loved our stay and the location could not have been better. Customer service was excellent
A beautiful cottage with all the character and quirks you’d expect from a property of its age. The 1st floor bedrooms were bigger than we expected. Beds were comfy and the kitchen was a delight for those of us who like cooking. The cottage is big but still has a really homely feel. Location is great. Very peaceful, but just a short drive to the bustling high street at Burford. The fox pub is dog friendly and less than 10 mins stroll from the property. They do great food (try the fish and chips!). We stayed at Greenview as a group of 5 adults and would love to go back.
Nice cottage in a pretty village called Avening.Comfortable, spacious and despite previous reviews on parking I could have got my grandland on the drive and a decent parking space at the back.Perfect location for 7 walks straight from the property and a pub at the bottom of the street .Ideally situated for Tetbury,Bath and Westonburt arboretum.Ideal size for 3 people though with a bit more cutlery I thought it would be okay for 4.
We had a fantastic time at this new but still rustic feeling and spacious property. There were 5 of us and there was plenty of space for us throughout the place. Really well managed by StayCotswold too, very easy to book and detailed instructions on access to the property and checking in. Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend the property and StayCotswolds too.
We had a fantastic time here. It was my Mum's 80th Birthday and the cottage was perfect for our 3 families to get together and celebrate. The house is comfortable and spacious and in terms of equipment has absolutely everything (& I mean everything) that you could possibly want. Loved the big kitchen table for the Friday night meal we cooked in and for breakfast. Nice, big garden that especially in summer would be lovely The village is picture card perfect. We walked over to Bidbury which was a lovely walk and there's plenty of other options for rambling. The Village Pub (despite its ...more
Had a great time at the organic wagon. The view is great and it is in close vicinity to numerous spots to visit. The bed was in incredibly comfortable and completed the stay.
This is our 2nd time booking the cottage and we absolutely love it everytime! Very peaceful, clean and cosy. Definitely will be considering a 3rd stay in future!
The property met all our expectations and was ideal for our large family gathering. The bedrooms gave privacy and the dining area worked really well for gathering, playing games and, of course, eating. The kitchen is very well equipped. Other highlights were the beautiful outlook, the spacious grounds, the charms of Blockley village, and the scope for nearby country walks.
We stayed at Coursehill Barn Annexe for 4 nights in February 2025. The location was convenient for visiting Oxford and the Cotswolds but the access road was quite potholed and bumpy. The what3words directions did not work and we were initially directed down the wrong road, fortunately we arrived during daylight otherwise it may have been quite tricky. The barn itself is very airy and warm with lovely views out onto the fields and countryside. We felt that the cleanliness could have been better, there were dirty pans, freezer and oven. The shower plug hole was also full of hair. It felt a litt...more
A perfect stay in a cosy, beautiful cottage. We stayed with two younger kids, plenty to do in local area - walks from door, coffee at the farm shop down the road, tea in pub across the road. The cottage is smaller but carefully planned and had everything we needed. Ebrington as a village is peaceful and like a postcard, very beautiful.
We had a fantastic stay at Pear Tree Cottage . Kevin met us at the property and was so friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The area was 'in the sticks' which is exactly what we wanted. There was plenty of room for parking outside the cottage. The heating worked brilliantly and we were never cold, considering it was February. The bedding and towels smelled amazing! The cottage was very clean. I would not hesitate to recommend or stay here again. If I had to pick one draw back it would be that some of the kitchen utensils and pots could be updated...but they were absolutely fine. Di...more
Just ideal for what was looking for in stay, great location for Oxford, very comfortable accommodation, hhgelpful contact. Thank you
We had a lovely stay at Guddlebrook two, it was a much needed break in the country. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Thank you!
A lovely comfortable cottage in the heart of a gem of a Cotswold village. Two pubs and two cafes within walking distance. A top tip for the perfect stay is to bring your essentials with you as there is no get you in pack. Highly recommended.
Cozy comfortable cottage. Comfy beds. Well equipped. Fab shower. Close to market town. 5 mins walk. Would stay again. Nice area with pubs, cafes to walk to. Only issue we had with cleaning. The Kitchen Bin was dirty on arrival
The apartment was quite nice but a bit soulless.. not very clean either.. lots of cobwebs. It’s situated right on the A40 very noisy, not well signposted either. The shower temperature in the en suit was broken, and the place was boiling when we arrived, struggled to turn the heat down so had to open all the windows, except in the 2nd bedroom where there was no window only French doors which obviously you can’t have open all night ♀️ All in all, not worth the high charge £560 plus £80 for 2 dogs, this was from 5pm Friday to 10am Sunday, so not even 48hrs
We had a super time at Burghfield Cottage which is ideally situated for Bourton on the Water. The cottage is spacious inside with a lovely garden outside to enjoy. Both StayCotswold and Zoe, the property owner, were most helpful and we would happily recommend their services and the cottage.
We had a fab time at Elm Barn. It was well kitted out and perfect for our family week away. The grounds were lovely. Only downside is that it said it was walking distance to the local pub but this would have been on busy main roads so not ideal with small children.
The place is a gem in a gem of a village. We loved every minute of our stay in the house. The house is kept in very good condition despite its long age.
This is a beautiful cottage and very cosy and comfortable for 6 people. The kitchen/diner is perfect for cooking and socialising over dinner. The living room is very cosy and nice to have a log burner for those wintery evenings. It is also great that they had plenty of seating in the living room for more than 6 people to comfortably sit. The village is very quiet but has a lovely pub and the Pig is on the doorstep if you wanted to visit for lunch or dinner. I would highly recommend and hopefully will be able to return soon!
The Nook is a 10 minute drive from Burford and is well located to explore the rest of the Cotswolds. The apartment is clean, comfortable, quiet and well equipped. There is a small cafe / bistro located at the entrance to the residential estate where The Nook's located called the "Cotswold Outpost" which serves breakfast and lunches till 4pm everyday except Tuesday's - The full Cotswold breakfast was very good!
We travelled from Australia and stayed here for a few days with family at Xmas time, what a beautiful home and amazing location! Walk into village was lovely passing by some beautiful spots. Home was lovely with a log fire which we all loved! Would have loved a larger Xmas tree (it was 2-3 ft tree) to make it feel on par with how beautiful the village was decorated but that just because I’m a big Xmas fan, apart from that we were very happy!
The towels, kitchen cloth and glasses were all dirty. For example glasses were covered in a grease. This wasn’t a nice way to begin the trip- having to wash everything. Cottage has so much potential and is in a gorgeous area, but needs a little love. Not enough water for four adults to have a shower means it shouldn’t be advertised for this occupancy. If we were to book again it would defo have to be in the summer, it’s not a cottage for the winter.
Great location in a small village with restaurant/pub and walking distance of Chipping Norton. Plenty of parking and reasonable gardens which do need tidying. Lounge only had soft seating for 6 people but a large table for 13. Disappointed that there was only a domestic four hob cooker and oven and domestic size fridge. Surely a large American style fridge is needed and a six burner hob for 12 people. Saucepans were short of lids and roasting trays were poor. Downstairs toilets didn’t flush well and the drain below the kitchen window overflowed with waste water onto the patio. It’s a great...more
This cottage is fabulously clean and in a great location. Spacious and perfect for a mini break. We were a party of five and it was perfect. Car parking is a little bit tight, but 2 cars doable. We’ve already booked to go again.
Bunt Barn is a premium building in a lovely location. We really appreciated the space, three generous double bedrooms, lots of living space and a good size kitchen/ diner. For a winter letting, the underfloor heating was a god send, very cosy. However, it is in desperate need of an update; a mix match of glasses (if you like a decent size wine glass take your own), broken waste bin, oven trays well worn, broken scissors, non dishwasher safe plates that must have been put in dishwasher as they we crazed, lack of decent size dinner plates, broken lamp shades on bedside tables. A potentiall...more
Great weekend with family , cottage in good location ,plenty of room just some TLC required . Bedroom door wouldn't close due to screws missing on hinge , cupboard door not fixed on just slotted in ,unused aerial cable just spread on floor ,downstairs bathroom ceiling got damp mould , Old property but damp wall areas need attention there is just lots of small details need sorting , Furniture in there saying fragile do not use ? Garden great even though winter and secure for dog .
A lovely place to stay, very comfortable with all amenities close by. A great place to visit the Cotswolds from and nice to 'chill out' in the evenings in front of the fire. A real 'home from home' Being dog friendly a great bonus too!
I had a wonderful stay at Rose Cottage! The facilities were excellent, and everything was well-maintained. The cozy decoration added a warm and welcoming touch, making it feel like a home away from home. Overall, I was very happy with my experience and would highly recommend it to others.
We stayed at Honey Cottage as a couple with a toddler and our dog. We found it a to be a lovely cosy retreat and base for exploring the Cotswolds. Nice touches with some essentials being provided and a bottle of wine. A travel cot, high chair and extra towels were provided for our little one and clearly lots of thought has gone into making sure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. We shall be returning - thanks!
Myrtle house is in the perfect location of Shipton under Wychwood. Plenty of amenities in this lovely Cotswold village. Excellent pubs within easy walking and a little shop directly opposite. The house itself was perfectly adequate, but could do with an update. Carpet and soft furnishing’s definitely in need of replacing. Major issue was the shower in the main bathroom. Impossible to use as thermostat was obviously broken and I would say a definite health and safety risk. The water is scalding!!
This property has the potential to be fantastic. The location is superb! With the added benefit of off street parking, which is in demand in Stow! However, there are areas of the property that make it fall short. 1. Condition of the property - the walls, skirtings and paint work feel old and well used with lots of marks and scuffs. There are areas of damp and leaking in the upstairs bedrooms which we weren’t pre warned about. 2. Cleanliness - we are a very clean household and expect properties we stay in to be clean upon arrival. The shower was very clean but all other areas showed dust and a ...more
Perfect location for a fab girls weekend with there being 3 of us and a 8 month old dog there was plenty of room and had everything you could need for a short stay, with it being dog friendly but practical it was a relief with a little enclosed garden too, great little welcome pack with milk & eggs, overall a fab stay
Willows house is a beautiful large property in a great location. The open plan kitchen/ sitting area worked so well for our group of 6 friends. The logs left for the fire were much appreciated in January. We had a minor issue on arrival which we were able to resolve following a prompt call back from the management team. The beds were all comfortable and the bathrooms modern and very clean. We enjoyed the close proximity to Stow and walked there and back for some shopping and an excellent pub lunch at the Bell.
We had such a lovely few days in Moreton-in-Marsh! Being able to take my children to a place that means so much was wonderful and Cobblers Cottage was the perfect accommodation for us. We came on the train and its central location was fantastic; it had everything we needed and was such a wholesome cottage to stay in. They were kind enough to agree to a slightly early check-in to accommodate the children’s nap/food times, so that was extra wonderful. We’ll definitely be back for more exploring of the Cotswolds!
We had a lovely week in Spa Changing Rooms - it is a lovely period property, very handily located near Stow-on-the-Wold and just up the road from Lower Swell, which has lovely traditional pub (The Golden Ball) doing lovely Sunday lunches. The cottage is very well equipped, with a good sized kitchen, dining area and living room downstairs, and comfortable bedrooms on the upper floors. The stairs are steep and winding but perfectly manageable. Entry to the attic room is through a low doorway, but OK if you're reasonably agile, and the room therein is a good sized single. Bathroom is also spacio...more
1 Manor Farm Cottage is a modern and picturesque cottage in a good location for exploring the Cotswolds. However, we were unaware that the cottage is on quite a busy road and with windows open, it can get noisy so that is worth noting. The kitchen was well equipped with the basic starter kit of sponges and kitchen roll, we did have to buy more to ensure we had enough for the week. I mentioned we did not have oven gloves which are a necessity for cooking, we were informed we have an oven cloth, we found it was useless in stopping the heat come through. We had our one year old with us to...more
The cottage is as lovely looking as in the photographs. First impressions were very good. We were left a few logs for the wood burner and some essentials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, loo rolls and kitchen towels. Unfortunately, the cottage is on a busy thoroughfare which meant noisy traffic throughout the day and night. We were aware that the front door opened up to steep steps leading to a narrow pavement however we felt that this could be quite dangerous considering the speed at which vehicles fly past. Of course this can’t be helped (unless extra glazing to the windows ...more
We stayed a week here, the house had everything you would need for the stay, the kitchen had all the utensils needed, although the Aga took some getting use to. Upstairs bedrooms were a good size, the biggest "But" I have is the smaller of the double room Upstairs desperately needs a new mattress my back was in pieces by the end of the week ( and no the other guests would not swap) or a new mattress topper.
The house was very clean and perfectly located to explore Bourton. Parking Situation is a bit tight for a bigger group with many cars. WiFi Data needs to be updated. New name and default password on the router needed to be figured out.
We had a great stay here, it is so convenient to walk into Stow itself and did a great 6km loop walk around the local countryside. The house was comfortable and located opposite Majestic Wine and M&S which was great for picking up food and drink whilst we were there. A few extra loo rolls, bigger towels for longer than a 1 night stay, and mini shampoo/conditioner would have been great for that extra special touch.
We enjoyed a good week at Kings Cottage with our dog Cilla, comfortable cottage in a good location for exploring the Cotswolds. Very clean on arrival and all the facilities we required for a good stay including the lovely hot tub which was ready to use when we arrived.
The cottage was fine for 2 people but would have been a squeeze with 4. It had all the amenetues we neededThe cottage was clean on the surface but could do with a deep clean. The windows and window frames were very dirty. The "garden" was full of weeds. The gas hob igniters and the cooker hood were not working and he hive thermostat was not connecting so no central heating. The management came to sort this but neither was fixed. At the end of our stay I emptied out a completely full vacuum as I found there was barely any suction. The hoover couldn't have been emptied for a long time . It fi...more
Door lock, knob on cooker, dishwasher, broken stool, front window blind and rope stair rail all need repairs
Two failed attempts to communication with the manager before arrival - email/telephone. The agents could inform the property manager of the email address of the client to avoid Spam folder issues (if they don't already). A multi zone heating system is much too complicated for people arriving after a long journey to grapple with. Some of the zones were set for 16 deg between 9am and 5pm as if we were going out to work during the day! Consideration must be given to babies/ the elderly/infirm who sleep/rest during the day. Old buildings with thick stone walls only retain heat if they are conti...more
Check in at 5pm meant arriving in the dark, location sent via What 3 Words, which we do not use and therefore couldn’t find The Nest. Following a telephone call and guidance we managed to find it, signage needs improving as impossible to see In the dark Great little place to stay to explore the locality. Wouldn’t want to stay longer than a weekend as sofa not comfortable for relaxing. lovely and clean, all the essentials provided, could do with a large wall mirror near a plug for drying hair etc. Heating was a bit random and unable to change it due to needing a passcode, not sure if timer ha...more
We had a great week at Post Office Cottage. We chose the location as it’s very near family, but the village is lovely with a pub a few minutes away and the lovely Cotswolds Lounge for breakfast, lunch and coffee a five minute walk away. We also had pizza from Fire and Wine in Milton which was lovely. The cottage was cosy and nicely furnished. I did raise some concerns about cleanliness with the property manager and he couldn’t have been more helpful. He also helped when one of the radiators wasn’t working and he came over with a heater and also lit a log fire which was much appreciated. The...more
The property was tired and not very clean. Towels from the previous guests were left hanging on the back of the bedroom door. Carpets still had dog hair on them. The sofas are uncomfortable. The bins outside had not been emptied for some time and there was dog poo in the recycling bin. The kitchen was lacking in equipment.
We appreciate the cottage was old and quirky but we should have been told it was unsuitable for the elderly! My 86 yr old mom struggled to get up the stairs as they were old, sloping and had no handrail. There were large black flies continuously flying around in all the rooms. The carbon monoxide monitor didn't work and when we got in there was a worrying smell which we reported but it wasn't investigated.. We didn't see a smoke alarm. There was a hole in the floor under the bunk bed and also water damage to the wall in the same room. Lovely old cottage tho in a great part of the Cotswolds...more
A gathering of the family for my brother’s 50th. Ages from 88 to 4 months. Had a lovely stay. Perfect position. Kind touches such as the wine, cake and milk. Thanks very much. Only reservation was the 2 single beds in the cottage that go end to end. A bit hard but the youngsters coped.
My general rule of thumb when booking and paying good money for a holiday property is that it needs to be as good as, if not better, than my own home. Sadly Orchard Cottage, although a lovely little Cotswolds Cottage in a great location, does not meet that standard. The whole property inside needs upgrading, it looks as though it was made ready as a holiday let about ten years ago and has not been touched since. We stayed over Christmas 2024, therefore this review is based on a winter stay. Firstly the heating was struggling and only one radiator upstairs on the landing, no heating in the bed...more
Lovely cottage in a nice location with super views from the back over the fields and village below As can often the case, the photos online give the cottage a larger feel, whereas in reality, it is quite compact - fully functional just a bit cosy in places, such as the three bedrooms and the stairs to the very top twin room - not a problem for us, however if you had limited mobility, perhaps not the cottage for you We could not find a key to open the back door to the garden or the lock has had it On arrival, in the dark, there was no sign of the keybox - it turns out it is out the back by ...more
Booking process and pre-stay information was spot on, can't fault it. Great location for Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford, Cirencester etc. We stayed at the cottage as we had a family wedding in Burford which is only a short drive away. Bourton-on-the-Water is a beautiful village, lots to do and see. The cottage has rustic charm with lots of great features i.e. an abundance of plate and glassware and nice touch having a canteen of cutlery for use. The cottage on the surface was fine; however, it is a bit tired and would benefit from a deep clean and better quality pillows. Apart from this we ha...more
