The Barn is a classically converted five bedroom barn with beautiful exposed beams and stone walls. Nestled in the quiet village of Shellingford, Faringdon, Oxford and the national trail The Ridgeway are all within easy reach. The Barn is just one of five properties at Goodlake Barns which all centre around a spacious courtyard.

The Barn is excellent - we had a party of 10 share the weekend from ages 5 to 70 and the facilities were comfortable and flexible with amenities to cater for all of us. The space was modern and comfortable, the kitchen was great with excellent storage, fridges and freezers, plenty of cutlery and crockery, the rooms, beds and other furniture were comfortable - bathrooms plentiful and convenient. The feature sitting room was decorated for Christmas with a lovely tree and the unique design of the building certainly added the wow-factor for our weekend.

A group of us stayed here as a base to explore Oxford. The Barn with Pony is very spacious and comfortably fitted 10 people. It was clean throughout and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need - there was even a bonus mini kitchen in the Pony! The outside space is shared, however we did not feel overlooked and the patios were spaced out enough to still feel private. It was an easy enough drive to the park and ride into Oxford but remote enough to still offer the peace and quiet if you don't want to be in the city itself.

We were a family reunion of nine people and The Barn suited our needs perfectly. Plenty of space and just so peaceful. Lovely local walks. Lots of interesting places nearby and within 30 minutes drive. We have stayed at other places in the Cotswolds but this was by far our favourite.

This is our 3rd stay at The Barn so that speaks for itself. The barn itself is beautifully done has lots of space ideal for large groups. Well equipped with majority of the rooms having an en suite, plenty of wardrobe space. Kitchen/dining area is fabulous keeping everyone in one space for cooking and eating plenty of space to all muck in. Plenty of crockery to go round. The space we enjoy mostly is the outdoors patio area, very private and sunny. New furniture and BBQ have been purchased since our last visit, nice to know they are constantly updating things. Would definitely recommend.

Firstly we had to postpone our holiday to The Barn twice because of covid and this was done with no trouble at all. Well done StayCotswold. Then The Barn was just brilliant. The facilities and amenities were outstanding. Lots of crockery, pans and cutlery. The beds were big and super comfy with soft pillows.
We had friends staying in Prince and Flower but with The Hub dining area we could fit everyone around the table even when friends visited for the day. The lounge is lovely and comfy and we had the wood burner going one evening when it got a bit nippy. The location is just gorgeous and so quiet. It sits on a dead end street so there is no traffic going past. The outside seating was ample and the courtyard is a lovely sun trap. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning in the future. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Big thumbs up from us.

We booked The Barn, Prince and Punch Barns for a family reunion for 19 of us. The barns were an ideal location for this occasion. They were very comfortable, well equipped and plenty of space for a large group. The paddock at the back was ideal for the children to play.

Would also recommend breakfast at the coffee shop in Stanford in the Vale. Really helpful and pleasant. We also walked across the fields to the Horse and Jockey in Stanford. Easy flat walk, footpath starts opposite church in
Shellingford.

The stay was a reunion of three mothers and daughters. We spent ages looking for the right place as we required a ground floor bedroom for one of the party with a disability and also a central location for all three families. The Barn was stunning, large kitchen and dining area which was great that we could all sit together. The lounge was a great size with the beautiful log burner (The logs needed to be a little smaller). The whole barn was spotless, the beds were comfy. I think the only niggle we had was that in the shower rooms by the shower heads there was not a little shelf to put your soap on. The added touch of milk and a box of chocolates went down well. We all said we would definitely return, so this morning i had a look to re book for next year and was shocked that from September you are only taking bookings for the whole complex- that's a real shame but i am sure that there is a great reason behind it -
It was a great break and a lovely catch up in a beautiful place. :)

The decision to market Goodlake as a site only from September onwards has not been considered lightly but is something that is necessary at this time. We would love to help you with alternative properties that may be suitable for your next visit, otherwise hope that you might consider staying again at Goodlake as a larger group.

We had a brilliant stay at The Barn! The countryside surrounding it is stunning and quiet. We had a group of 10 and there was plenty of space. The kitchen was very well equipped and the beds all very comfortable. Everything went really smoothly from check in to leaving and I hope to return again!

Lots of space here which was a huge factor for us, the large kitchen also has a big dining table to accommodate everyone for dinner. When we arrived there was already some milk in the fridge for us as well as a few basic bits (oil, salt, pepper, some spices) and bags of ice for drinks, all of which was very handy. Stay Cotswolds and the owner of the house were all very friendly too. Only downside was that there was no shower gel or shampoo/conditioner in any of the bathrooms so we had to go and buy our own at the shop. Would be a nice simple touch to add this in. The house is attached to another cottage so if you're looking to make noise it won't be ideal for you - for us it was great though. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We stayed in The Barn. The accommodation is very spacious and is extremely well appointed and equipped. We arrived after a long flight from South Africa and were very pleased to see all the necessary little things like coffee, tea salt and pepper, dishwasher tablets, surface cleaner etc. The place is spotless, the beds large and comfortable and the towels are white and fluffy. The setting is beautiful and peaceful with a large lawned area outside where our grand-children enjoyed kicking a ball etc. Close by there is a co-op in Stanford-in-the-Vale and approximately 10mins away in Faringdon there is a Waitrose and Tesco. The owner was always available and very pleasant and helpful. We booked for 4 weeks but stayed for 7! All in all a truly great experience!

Peaceful and relaxing for a mix of ages from teens to a 90 year old.
All enjoyed a weekend at the barn.We had space and provision for extra guests for meals.The kitchen was well equipped and gave ample space for easy catering ,two fridges and freezers helped keep work to the minimum.
The outside area was an attractive place sit and dine and a grassy area at the front provided space for games .A good choice for a celebration.

We all had a lovely short half term break away as families x 3, everyone loved the house, self entertain didn't need to go far to sightsee wonderful sight of Cotswolds.

We booked The Barn, Prince and Punch for a group of 16 plus 4 children, and it was the perfect spot to celebrate New Year. The barns are all really cosy and inviting, with every amenity you could need. Andrew (the owner) couldn't have been more helpful, and even let us use The Hub so we could all eat together as a group. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again. Highly recommended.

We rented the whole property to entertain family and friends for our daughter's wedding. A perfect venue for this sort of gathering, with cooking facilities to make catering for 28 as easy as it could be, and a communal room big enough to seat us all for meals in comfort. A very well-run group of properties

My group of 26 (16 adults + 10 kids) actually rented all 5 barns for a long weekend break, and we all had a fantastic time.

Each barn was very well presented, and all kitchens well stocked, the beds were comfy and all in all we couldn't fault the place.

There's lots to do nearby, and plenty of great places to eat as well, so we were spoiled for choice.

We went to the Cotswolds wildlife park on Saturday and that's a great day out for families. We got a takeaway curry that night from the local restaurant and it was amazing, and great value too. On Sunday we stayed at the barns, playing ball games with the kids in the private paddock, and we had a BBQ for dinner. It was way getting bits for the BBQ and for breakfasts etc..., as there was a Waitrose, Aldi and Tesco superstores.

We all loved it so much we're going to book again for 2020!

We recently stayed here and booked out the entire place, it was absolutely brilliant and The Hub made for a perfect function room. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and cosy! The customer service from the moment of booking right throughout to the end of our stay was excellent. I will definitely consider staying at Goodlake again, 10/10 all round.

We booked into The Barn, Flower and Prince for the weekend as a base from which our family could stay with us and celebrate our wedding. They were perfect for us and helped make our day a beautifully memorable one. All of the accommodation was spacious, spotless and very comfortable. The kitchen facilities had everything we could possibly have needed and we did make full use of them! The location is stunningly beautiful and we would not hesitate to recommend Goodlake Barns.

Thus is the 2nd time visiting the Barn and yet again had a fantastic time. We use it for a family get together and the setup at the Barn is perfect. Most rooms have en suite bathrooms so no queues in the morning for showers, the living room is huge so we could all sit and chat but the best feature is the large kitchen/dining space. We use the island as a self serve counter and the table is plenty long enough for everyone to sit round, bearing in mind there was 11 of us as we had some guests using the Blossom barn too this is fantastic. As the weather was lovely again during our stay most of the time was spent sitting outdoors and again plenty of room with the long outdoor table and chairs, the village itself is so quiet so it was lovely just to sit out and chill.

The Barn accommodation was very spacious and we enjoyed having the huge room which we could use for dining - we called it our 'village hall'.
The only comment I would like to make about the facilities concerns the dishwasher, which made the dishes dirtier rather than cleaner. Not sure what was wrong with it but there was a gritty deposit all over the dishes at the end of every wash - so I had to keep rewashing everything again by hand. This was quite annoying because we had most of our meals in the Barn so there was a lot of washing up.
Other than that we were happy with the place and it was situated in a picturesque village not far from the main road.

We stayed at The Barn for my wedding weekend and could not recommend it more highly. We booked all five cottages for family and the wedding party for the whole weekend, and it was a perfect base. The cottages were clean, spacious and just generally lovely. Andrew was really responsive and helpful, as were the StayCotswold team. Really recommend staying here!
