Very and welcoming. Biggest problem was the parking. Very narrow and backing out onto a main road not easy

Communication was excellent asked to enter the property early, which they accommodated. Nice touch leaving a bottle of wine. Kitchen had all the amenities to make a good Sunday lunch and there’s plenty of room to entertain six adults.

Beautiful little cottage in a fabulous village with great walks and a lovely pub opposite.
Lovely bottle of wine and biscuits provided when we got there.
Cottage was well equipped although could really do with more cutlery, mugs and small plates as we spent out time washing them (as there were just enough of each for one each). The dishwasher really didn't work well either so probably needs a bit of an overhaul.
Other than that we had a lovely time. Would definitely recommend.

A lovely comfortable cottage with cosy beds and sofas to flop on. The kitchen was well equipped if a little tired. Very pretty location and only a few yards from the pub. Parking at the cottage was tight and although we left one car parked on the road it wasn’t ideal.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage, would definitely stay again, very comfortable. Some points just to note: Door security needs attention, when we opened the front door, back doors flew open even though locked, bolts do not work efficiently on either dining room or kitchen stable doors. There was also tremendous drafts from these doors so either attention needed and maybe some curtains. Lights were faulty in dining room so could not turn in but really helpful housekeeper Richard advised they were due to be fixed. We also requested a slightly later checkout which was granted. Some more cutlery would be helpful to so as not to be constantly washing to reuse for one meal.

We spent five days at Winterberry Cottage at the end of October. The cottage is very cozy, has everything that you would need for a family of 4. The heating worked really well when we needed it in the evening. The property manager was very helpful with all of our requests.

We thought the cottage was in a good location with an excellent village pub very close by. The garden was pleasant.
We appreciate the property is an old cottage but we found general cleanliness to be an issue. Cobwebs and thick dust, especially under the beds. Some broken glass on the floor near the dishwasher. Also areas in the kitchen which looked unfinished - exposed pipe work near the boiler. The kitchen was lacking in some basic items - such as a cafetière, which was listed on the website as being stocked, but could not be found. Other small things, lack of soap, the shower not draining effectively and lightbulbs not working (in multiple rooms!)
Overall I cannot recommend this cottage, it would probably be worth the owner staying in the property to see what needs to be improved.

The property manager has reassured me that his housekeeping team were not contacted during your stay as they would have been able assist you with any housekeeping issues. Unfortunatlely before your visit a new boiler was fitted in the property and this explains for the unfinished exposed pipework near the boiler, which has now been rectified and this may have also caused some dust to settle. The cafeterie has been broken several times over the summer and the property owner has now supplied a a Tassimo coffee maker. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Cotswolds soon.

We had a lovely few days at Winterberry Cottage and would highly recommend to anybody . Lovely to be able to walk up to Barnsley House Hotel for a champagne afternoon tea .
The only thing is I think people should be aware it is not possible to use mobile phones,. There could be a home emergency and people not able to contact . There is a landline available .Maybe the landline no could be put on site after a booking is made ? This did not bother us but could be a problem for others .

We stayed at Winterberry for my wife’s birthday with friends. Comfortable, great social space in the kitchen and small well kept garden. Living room sofa’s and beds very comfortable and good water pressure in the showers. Village pub and spa hotel was a few easy steps from the cottage but booking in advance for restaurants recommended!

Winterberry had everything we needed providing a home from home. The cottage was well presented, clean and spacious (for three adults.)
Good location for exploring the Cotswolds (Cirencester and Bibury nearby) and Oxford.
Would definitely recommend.

Lots of space for socialising - love the layout of the kitchen/diner and outside space.

Co Op for provisions 5 min drive away and pub places to eat 2 minutes walk away .

We stayed in the cottage for four days. Very comfortable and well equipped. Quiet pretty village with a good pub and convenient for Cotswold touring. A level of farm and traffic noise in the day (though not intrusive) - quiet at night.Attractive garden.

Great place for family / friends to share a break away. WiFi was great - as no signal on phones. Cosy lounge plenty of seating. Kitchen had almost everything (need cafetière) thanks for milk and teas/coffee ! Comfy beds ! Would imagine summer garden beautiful. Pub across road for food was great. Shortish drive for everything else (although beautiful looking spa hotel that we didn’t visit was a few steps away too) lovely, would absolutely recommend. Few details in welcome pack are out of date or missing - unclear about recycling - WiFi codes., charger for speaker. Contact was great. Easily solved. Thanks.

The cottage is cosy but a good size all round with ample room for 6. It is positioned in a quiet village with a pub (unfortunately closed while we were there) but very close to Cirencester and surrounded by beautiful little villages. We had a wonderful stay but would advise you to check if you have trouble with stairs as they are very steep.

The cottage is very pretty, with a lovely back garden, very comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, excellent showers and comfortable furnishings but a number of issues spoilt our stay. The village is certainly not peaceful, in fact the rush hour traffic starts at 5.30am., not helped by single glazed window., The farm at the rear of the property was also very noisy. The stairs are extremely steep, narrow and twisting - not made clear in the description of the property. As we are both over 70 this made life very difficult for us. The house was generally clean but there were areas where it was not: dust on bedheads, cobwebs and dust on walls and behind fixtures and fittings, dirty window frames etc. The property looks tired in places, especially the hall and stairs with lots of scuff marks on the walls. It needs redecorating. There was no information pack so no instruction booklets for appliances, no contact information for local services eg GP, dentist, hospital etc and no information about refuse collection and recycling. I have seen that mentioned in other reviews but it appears not to have been followed up. This property is not cheap to rent and for the price we expected a higher quality overall so - a mixed bag,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the housekeeping and information pack, we will pass your comments on to the owner and their appointed property manager for them to action and we apolgise that these items were overlooked for you stay.
