Old Quay House is a superbly renovated family home set over three floors, overlooking the river and Coronation Park, and just a short walk from Dartmouth town centre. Ideal for up to three couples or a large family, there are three en-suite bedrooms, two with access to balconies. There’s also a terraced rear garden for everyone to gather and enjoy summer barbecues. A parking permit is provided for the nearby car park, while the ferry is a minute away to explore the South Hams by car.

Very clean and comfortable. Quality appliances and kitchen equipment. Great to have a bathroom in all the bedrooms. Good outdoor space, just wish we had the weather to enjoy it! Short walking distance to the town centre, pubs, restaurants etc. On street parking is limited next to the property, we managed to park on the Embankment all day as no parking restrictions in November. But I imagine that's an issue anywhere in Dartmouth.

These premises were ideal for the type of holiday we wanted. Clean with excellent facilities. We only used the Kitchen facilities for breakfast, as we ate out at lunchtime and in the evening. However, we could see that had we wanted to cook meals during the day, that the Kitchen facilities were excellent. The bedding was very comfortable, and TV facilities very good. We will definitely consider using Dart Valley cottages when returning to Dartmouth.

The property was so easy to get to by car with 2 hour parking outside and Mayor’s Avenue car park just a 5 minute walk. There was a wow as soon as we walked into the house. All rooms have en-suites and was absolutely perfect. My grandsons loved that there was Roald Dahl books in their bedroom. The twin room was at the front of the house next to the door not a real problem. But we’d prefer the double room there and the twin at the back just for extra safety. Not that anyone would really come in. The patio area downstairs definitely needed sprucing up. The double room downstairs was a really lovely space with a very large en suite, with separate bath and large shower. Going Upstairs was again a massive wow. The seating area with corner bench seating and 2 dining chairs was very social and made the kitchen and lounge all come together perfectly. There is a seating area just outside the kitchen with a covered pergola. The tiered garden was perfect with great seating area and bbq on the 3rd level. The lounge had a really comfortable armchair and settee. Plus a great seat for looking out of the window, being able to see the river dart, steam train, the tennis courts, and the park. The house felt very comfortable and homely. My grandsons aged 7 and 9 loved playing with Jenga on the lounge floor. The tv was perfect and great to have one in each bedroom as well as the lounge. The upstairs bedroom had a balcony with 2 chairs and a table to overlook the garden. The en-suite was perfect. By each side of the bed we’re usb plug sockets. The beds were all comfortable with great pillows and cushions. Overall the house was 99% perfect.

This immaculate property had lovely views over the park and to the river beyond from the first floor lounge and had plenty of room for 6 adults. Great to have en-suites in all bedrooms. Although it was situated on the road, it was incredibly quiet and we had a peaceful stay. We chose this location as it was a flat, 15 minute walk into town which was ideal for the members of our party in their eighties.

Old Quay House was in the perfect location of Dartmouth for our family holiday. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. All the bedrooms were beautifully decorated with plenty of wardrobe space. The house was near to the shops and pubs and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a really lovely property, comfortable, well maintained, tastefully furnished and very well equipped. Fantastic selection of kitchen equipment and items and even a small cool bag and picnic ware. We were left washing up liquid , J cloth, scourer , 2 tea towels, 2 pints of milk, teabags, sachets of coffee and sugar, MS Dutch shortcake and MS white wine. There were also jigsaws and books.
We were a party of 4 adults of 3 generations ranging from late twenties to late eighties and found the location, convenient, as there is only a small incline. 5 minute walk into the centre. The road passes outside the property however it didn’t disturb us.
Two of the bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms are located on the ground floor one is at the front , with the open plan kitchen and living room on the first floor and then the third bedroom and en-suite on the second.
The car parking pass was useful, the car park is minutes away and opposite M&S. we unloaded about 50 yards from the house, there are a few spaces and if they are taken, you can unload in front of them, and we left the car for most of the time in and travelled on the river ferries and the steam train. We did drive to Coleton Fishacres. Beware the sat nav brought us back by the higher ferry and if you buy a ticket for the lower ferry you cannot use the return lower ferry return ticket.
Dartmouth is a very pretty place, with lots of small shops and galleries. We did find a lot of restaurants are closed on a Sunday evening and Monday, so good idea to book.
This one of the best self catering properties we have ever stayed in. Booking with Dart Valley Cottages was very straightforward and we found the instructions and communication very good and useful.

Fabulous cottage in great location! Having not visited Dartmouth before, I was slightly hesitant that this might not be a great location but I was totally wrong! It's just a few mins stroll to the waters edge and the shops & attractions of this lovely little town.
After exploring location attractions each day, the park opposite the house was perfect for relaxing and enjoying early evening sun with a G&T whilst the children played.
Luckily parking wasn't an issue despite us arriving on a bank holiday. As suggested, we left the car most days and explored on foot, taking advantage of the ferry and steam trains.
The cottage itself was nicer and had better facilities than I expected for the reasonable price.
Great all round and would definitely visit again!

We stayed in Dartmouth for our sons pass out ceremony at BRNC, so we’re delighted at the location of the house as it is just opposite the college gates. The house was better than we expected from the website pictures. Clean, warm, tidy, great Tv and Wi-Fi with excellent touches like wine in the fridge. We would recommend to anyone and hope to stay again when we next visit.

That’s comfortable with plenty of room for all the family. We used the outdoor space too, lovely for sitting out for an evening drink. The location is fantastic, 5 min walk along the riverside to the centre of Dartmouth. The great thing with this property is it comes with a parking space in the local car park. Again only a few minute walk from the property. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the old quay house & the sunny garden.

The only thing that would have improved the stay would be to have curtains in the bedrooms which block out more light. We slept in the back bedroom on the ground floor & were woken every morning around 6.30 by light coming in.

We'd have found it impossible to sleep in the twin room, ground floor, front because of additional light from street lighting & the noise of traffic.

We really appreciated you letting us drop our case at the property on the morning of our arrival. This was a game changer & gave us an extra day in Dartmouth.

Very enjoyable stay at Old Quay House. Perfect location for everything Dartmouth has to offer. We loved the house and the terraced garden. It had everything we needed for our stay and was spotlessly clean and a real home from home. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Never having visited Dartmouth I was not sure what to expect. However, I instantly fell in love with the town and the house.
The house is well situated and well equipped (now I sound like an estate agent) but it is. Everything you could wish for is at you finger tips, or a short walk away. I did not touch the car for 1o days.

The house is very comfortable and homely, in that it is welcoming and feels like your own home.

I would recommend booking. You will not be disappointed.

We are frequent visitors to Dartmouth and this has to be the best place we have ever stayed.
The 3 ensuite bedrooms were fantastic now our kids are older and there was plenty of space inside and out for all of us.
Everything was spotlessly clean, and the views over to the river were wonderful.
The only thing we missed that we didn't have (apart from great weather), would be perhaps a few more mugs to save on the washing up. That is only a very minor point and we would definitely book Old Quay House again when we next visit.

I’m reluctant to give a good review of this amazing property because lots of people will book it and we might not get availability when we want it again. It’s the best place we’ve ever stayed in and I’ve been going to Dartmouth for 50 years. The view was perfect as we are tennis players and the location fab. The rooms were all light, airy and big and an added bonus having en suite in them all. The sheets were lovely and crisp and white. The radiator in the top bedroom hadn’t been cleaned and the skirting boards seemed to have been missed, the wine glasses had red wine stains in them. That’s was the only criticism which we thought bad seeing as though the clean times have gone up from 0900-1700hrs. We will definitely be back.
