Can’t recommend this lodge as it has everything you need for a cozy and peaceful getaway- the log burner was a real highlight for me. The location ensures a slower pace of life but still with plenty to get stuck into. I’d recommend the Torrent Walk or Cadair Idris peaks followed by some time in the hot tub.

I loved my stay at Careiau Esgid Lodge.The property was located in a perfect place to enjoy Machynlleth,Dolgellau and a visit to Aberystwyth.As I was there for 4 nights I only done one of the recommended walks/hikes.The information given at the property was comprehensive and informative and you could easily fill your days with walking.The property is well equipped and welcoming. I had the best sleep ever.Big bonus is the Mach loop,very exciting.Would absolutely love to have another holiday there.Thankyou

Feel very lucky to have found such an amazing place to holiday. We have 2 young and lively children so the on-site amenities are very necessary! The location is superb with lakes, beaches, mountains and walks within striking of the cottage. If you like military planes then this is an awesome spot to see them -
It is literally on the Mach loop!! The fact that this was our fourth visit really does speak volumes about the place. We booked along with friends who have the other accommodation on site and it works beautifully. Very likely we’ll be returning for year 5 in 2024!

This was 2nd time for us to stay this rodge. It was comfortable as we expected.
Weather was not nice but we could swim and enjoyed whole week.
We will be back again.

A really lovely lodge set in well maintained grounds. The owners have thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. Towels are provided both for the pool and bathroom which were excellent quality . The pool is heated and very welcoming even on a grey and rainy day . There is a lovely 18 hole mini golf course just outside the lodge and a games room which we used on rainy days . The lodge has a-log burner with wood provided for chilly days and there is a lovely hot tub just outside the doors of the lodge . If I could make one recommendation , it would be to have a cover surrounding the hot tub . I would recommend this lodge to everybody . We had a lovely relaxing holiday and are hoping to return next year

Our second year in a row at Careiau Esgid Lodge and a thoroughly enjoyable family holiday again. It might be in quite a remote location but as long as you're willing to do a bit of travelling there's plenty to do and see. From the beautiful seaside towns of Aberdyfi and Barmouth to the charming little towns of Bets Y Coed and Blaenau further afield. The lodge itself is very cosy and has all your home comforts and the added bonus of the outdoor heated pool and games room keep everyone entertained even when the weather isn't the best. All in all a fantastic place to enjoy a family holiday and couldn't recommend more.

A perfect long or short break for all the comforts and entertainment a family needs. We really enjoyed our time. Plenty of places to visit and activities to do around but also a comfortable place just to rest with family.
We will definitely treasure the memories from this holiday.

The views and the opportunities to play in the pool make this place so special. Plenty to keep teenager’s occupied with the games room. Fabulous! Met the grounds man on the last day and he was super chatty and friendly too.

Everything about our stay was superb. The lodge was perfect for the four of us and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, games room and golf. Plenty of things to do in the vicinity. Would 100% return.
