River Cottage is a skilful conversion of a 300-year-old farm building. With thick stone walls and beamed ceilings, this lovely two bedroomed self-catering cottage is a wonderfully peaceful place to stay. River Cottage is full of character being furnished with comfortable antique furniture. You can enjoy the peaceful sound of the small river as it flows past your cottage

My daughter and I had a fantastic stay here. Beautifully furnished and decorated, very clean with friendly and helpful advice on local things to do by the owners. It was perfection and we will certainly be back again.

My daughter Ruth and I spent a delightful week together in River Cottage, having not been able to meet up in person since January. Chypons Farm is ideally located mid-way between St Ives and Penzance, which was just perfect for the outings we planned for the week; the biggest highlight for us was the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens which are only about 20 minutes away and are just spectacular, both for the gardens themselves and for the sculptures (and a very good restaurant!); other easy outings were to St Michaels Mount and St Ives (thank you, Julian, for the tip about using park-and-ride from St Erth rather than facing the St Ives parking nightmare) for Barbara Hepworth and the Tate, Penzance is also a pleasant little town to explore with good food shopping options and there were other gardens and beaches within easy reach. Coming home after our outings to the comforts of River Cottage was perfect: it is beautifully furnished and decorated with comfy living room armchairs waiting for the tired tourist! The kitchen was well equipped and having both a bathroom with tub and a shower in the downstairs loo was very good. The gardens around Chypons Farm are beautiful to sit out in - sadly not as often as we'd have liked as the weather was changeable. All in all a truly enjoyable stay!

Excellent, no problems ,we will stay again no question. A lovely place to stay in a perfect location

We booked River Cottage as a last minute booking having been let down by another property owner and we are rather happy that they did, Chypons farm is a real gem ,a stunningly beautiful old dairy farm tastefully converted to holiday cottages around a central concrete yard ,which I suppose was once the marshalling yard for the dairy cows. The cottage was fantastic with old period furniture in each room, there was everything you could possibly need a real home from home, and a real pleasure to return to at the end of a busy day exploring an area that my wife and I have enjoyed for many years. Chypons is perfectly situated for St Ives or Penzance and also the north coastal road between Zennor and St Just. Kate and Julian the hosts are perfect, they are on site but you are left to enjoy your holiday privately unless you need them for any local information or help in some way. Which is how my wife and I like our holidays. To sum up we would without hesitation return to Chypons Farm and recommend it to anyone wishing to holiday in that part of the world.

After initial trouble locating the property (our fault) Julian (owner) was there there to welcome us. We were later than expected time as there was a delay on train arrival, and picking up hire car. We arrived at 1900.
River Cottage was a delightful property, very well equipped and decorated. Everything one would expect at a holiday home.
Milk, tea bags and coffee sachets were provided
An extra bonus was a plate of scones, with clotted-cream and jam. Thank you.
Julian suggested that if we wanted to eat out he could phone the nearest pub, to book us a table, which we did.
The pub, 'The Engine Inn' was in walking distance for people fitter and younger than ourselves, but we needed to use the car.
Nice country pub, good food and nice welcome.
River Cottage is located about halfway between St Ives and Penzance. Easy access to all the towns and beaches in the area.
I would certainly recommend this property or one of the other properties at Chypons Farm. If in the area again would certainly book again.

This was our 5th or 6th stay at Chypons and it was as comfortable and peaceful as ever. Julian and Kate made us very welcome and the facilities, equipment and elegant furnishings at River Cottage make for a pleasant stay. St Ives as busy as ever of course but we used the bus rather than drive and there is a stop close to Chypons.

Although a little remote in feel it was only a short drive to all the must see places in Cornwall. The accommodation was a beautiful cozy old style cottage filled with lovely antiques and well equipped for cooking at home. My only recommendation would be a guest bbq in the lovely summer garden as the only outside eating area was not next to cottage.
