We booked this for a 4 day stay during a family gathering. The cottage was perfectly presented and contained everything we could possibly need during our stay. Lovely location and we enjoyed extremely peaceful sleeps here!

Another fantastic stay at the Hayloft.
Clean, comfortable, warm and a real
home from home experience. The little extras biscuits, Easter egg treats, milk and coffee at that simple but welcome touch.
This time had small children with us and the stair gate, highchair, toys and games were a great bonus.

The Hayloft has everything you need for your stay. Fiona is an excellent host, providing extra touches such as a real decorated Christmas Tree and a basket of treats . Our only problem, the internet was sorted very quickly.
It really is a home from home and gave us a perfect base when visiting our family and friends. We hope to be back soon.

Barn conversion was spot on for 3 adults and 2 children. Lovely view of sunrise from bedroom. Good location and handy having cafe next door. Owners replaced a broken item the same day. Would have liked a larger TV for the size of the room and internet was intermittent. Great value for money compared to other cottages at school half term.

The stay was lovely it was like home from home. Beautiful location really nice accommodation. One guest was a little upset about the comfortablilty of the bunk beds and water pressure of the shower. Other then that perfect. Will recommend to others.

This is a lovely place, well equipped, clean and comfortable. Perfect for us as just down the road from our family home so when lots of us visiting it was ideal. Now we know its there will very likely be back.

A clean, well-equipped and super location holiday home. Its host is very attentive and helpful. The house has every amenity and is clean and bright, with lots of extra touches, including vouchers to the amazing barn cafe next door. A relaxing holiday home close to both Colchester and the seaside; an ideal location.

We were a family of three generations, and had a lovely stay here last week. Toiletries and detergents as well as children's books and games were all included. The kitchen was well equiped kitchen, for all of our needs. The Hayloft was very clean and catered for all of our needs,

Although the weather was not as hot as expected, fans were provided as the bedrooms were prone to being very warm, and would have been a godsend if it had been.

Internet was very hit and miss, although if you stood by the onsite cafe, internet could be found.

The onsite café was also clean and good value for money..

Fiona, was available via email/text should you need her, which was comforting

The owner was lovely and very helpful. The only real issue was the WiFi / internet . Impossible to access most of the time which was a huge inconvenience. The owner knows of the problem and is doing her best to sort it out. If she does we will be booking to stay there again.

We enjoyed a lovely break to Essex staying at ‘The Hayloft’. We were met by Fiona on our arrival who was very welcoming and remained available at the end of the phone for any help we might require. The property is in a lovely setting , very peaceful on a working farm . Thankfully the weather during our stay was fantastic allowing us to make full use of the nearby beaches which are perfect for children . The five hour drive to get there was well worth it and we all hope to visit again.

This lovely barn provided a much needed break for our family. It is peaceful and quiet with a cafe around the corner, so it had everything we needed.

The Hayloft is a great place for a relaxing break (or in my case a work base) - it is very well equipped and extremely comfortable. The location is so very peaceful being within the grounds of a farm.

Fiona, the host, is extremely friendly and helpful and lives super close by if you ever need any assistance.
There is nothing to fault and after several stays now, I know I shall return again soon

Excellent indoor space with the best insulation and heating we have experienced! There was lots of storage space to put clothes away which was a nice bonus. I’m sure once the onsite amenities are up and running again (cafe, pottery), this would be a great destination in its own right. We went to see the sights of Clacton-on-Sea and Brightlingsea (the Lido cafe sells the best bacon rolls). A 3 night stay was ideal for this style of accommodation for us travelling with a 6 and 4 year old.
