The lodge we stayed in 27
had no WiFi and the phone signal wasn’t great, a dongle was provided but didn’t work great either.
The grass around the hot tub was very muddy so wasn’t easy. I would recommend a slab or chips around and leading up to it or have it sunk into the decking area.

Despite these two things we will definitely be back as all round experience was fantastic.

We absolutely loved our stay, we will definitely be visiting again, our lodge was spacious, comfortable & had everything we could have asked for & the best views out to the calm countryside, the hot tub was maintained daily by staff, very clean. The staff were great, Marius was so helpful as were all the staff. We love St Andrews & this is a 5 minute drive from St Andrews main town.

Lodge 27 was in a great location as it was at the edge of the resort and the view was beautiful. The lodge was very clean, warm & generally well equipped & comfortable. The resort itself was very well kept although the resort is still work in progress. The resort was also in a very handy location and just a 5 minute drive from St Andrews.

A few points which could be improved upon are:
- the hot tub requires a proper path to access it as walking across the grass was very dubby and we didn’t have much rain.
- the frying pan was more like an omelette pan and not at all appropriate for cooking for 4 people!
- there was no clothes horse which would have been very handy for hanging swimmers worn in the hot tub.
- it wasn’t great that you had to book the steam room/sauna as when I’m on holiday it’s nice that you don’t have to be stuck to a certain time & know 24 hours ahead.
- I was really looking forward to walking my dog round the reservoir, however I was warned about needing welly boots by the receptionist because it was very dubby! Well they were right! At the end of the gravel path there was the biggest mud bath to walk through before you could see the path being normal again. I did not have appropriate foot wear with me so never made it on that walk, very disappointing that the path wasn’t extended.
- it’s a shame the cafe/restaurant closes at 7pm as we would have gone. Being on holiday, we often didn’t think about dinner until 6/7 pm and by then, it was either closed or closing soon.
- my kids tried out the Waffle house but we’re very disappointed with the cold waffles they were presented with! The very nice assistant was very apologetic when we returned with my daughters waffle as it had ice cream on it, which we had not asked for as she is dairy free! At this point we asked if we could have a freshly made waffle as we wanted it hot & crispy but she said she had to use one of the ones that were already made and then warm up in the microwave! It’s just not the same. Kids were disappointed and did not go back but would have been there a few times had they been straight out of the waffle machine.
- my teenage son slept on the snug bed settee. He said it was very soft and not the most comfortable as the mattress was very thin but did manage to sleep on it for the 5 nights we were there. It would definitely not sleep 2 people so this is quite misleading.
All in all, we did have a lovely stay.

This was a lovely big cabin advertised as suitable for 6 adults but unfortunately that was not the case. The double bedroom was massive with loads of wardrobes & a beautiful walk in shower. The twin bedroom was tight for space could barely walk round the bed but was ok . The room classed as “The Snug” for other two adults to sleep has a very small double sofa bed with a 2cm mattress is only capable for children to sleep on. We had to use the sofa & chairs to sleep on as even struggled with one person trying to sleep on it . This cabin should be advertised as 4 adults & 2 children !
The hot tub was good in size but not on the decking so you had to walk along the side of the cabin round the corner to get to it. There was no path so you have to walk on the grass which was sodden with rain therefore like a mud bath. You seriously needed wellies as our feet were covered in mud & we were sliding everywhere. We did complain about as we hardly used the hot tub because of this as made no sense what so ever not to have some slabs to make it safer to walk up to the tub. They just said they would pass this onto the owners .
I would prefer a more practical cabin if was returning sadly wouldn’t select this cabin again.
