We have been every year for the past 5 years bar 1 year when Covid was about .
We absolutely love this place , it’s our favourite place to come and stay. The lady who runs / owns these is a wonderful lady .
We definitely will be coming back again and again

Located in a quiet rural area not far from Windermere by car but far enough from the busy tourist centre. No pubs or restaurants within walking distance, but the self contained lodges have good cooking facilities. Recommend local lamb or a Cumberland sausage swirl. Also an excellent selection of local beers from Booths.

Tranquil setting only a short drive away from Windermere. Lodges are really comfortable with extras such as a drying cupboard for wet walking clothes. We have been coming here for years and will return again.

I found this wonderful lodge at the last minute for a much needed half term break.
It was beautifully presented and well equipped.
A must for anyone wanting to be off the grid for a time , yet easy access to Windermere if necessary.

We stayed in Copse for two weeks. The lodge was lovely and clean, in a quiet location. Kathy the owner was very friendly and often stopped for a chat if she was around. The only comments we have are that we feel a gate would be useful at the top of the stairs so it blocks off acces to the front door. The other thing is there was no welcome pack. Fortunately we had groceries with us so had some milk to make tea but this is the first place we have stayed where there was no milk or a pack of biscuits when we arrived. There was tea, coffee and sugar. We had a great time and a welcome pack is definitely not a deal breaker.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and very convenient for dog walking. Short journey to Kendal and Windermere, with a few National Trust sites to visit too!

We had a lovely 3 night stay with our dogs at high Borrans. The cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It was great to be on the farm seeing all the baby lambs we had great weather which added to the enjoyment. We couldn’t recommend it more highly. The farm is in a great spot just a few miles from Windermere and Ambleside lots to see and great place to eat.

Lovely comfortable,warm lodge set on working farm with welcoming host. Located off the beaten track but easy to get into Windermere or Up to Kirkstone. Kentmere can be walked to from the lodge so lots of good walking nearby. Plenty of dog towels for wet muddy dogs! Our second time here and we will be returning!

Had a wonderful stay at High Borrans. Our lodge was perfect; it was spacious, stylish, comfortable, spotlessly clean and well-equipped. The surrounding countryside is stunning and peaceful. We hope to return and explore more. Our lodge was also dog-friendly, which was much appreciated by us and our Jack Russell. Highly recommended.

This is our second visit and it’s always such a lovely stay, the location is absolutely perfect. The little things like provided towels, shower gel make it much more enjoyable
Knowing I don’t have to pack as much. The on site laundry building is also great, every little detail is thought about to make our stay that much nicer. We are keen hikers and water enthusiasts, so having all this on the doorstep is a true treat.
