We arrived early and were allowed to check in before our time. The lodge is perfectly equipped, warm and cosy. It was a beautiful autumnal day so we sat out in the decking with beautiful views.
There was lots of walking to be done and we also had a drive around the area.
Would highly recommend and certainly be coming back.

We have stayed at High Borrans several times and always enjoy the tranquil scenic location and comfort. The lodge has all the facilities needed for a self-catering break and, although sited in a beautiful and quiet spot, is within easy reach of local facilities. I would thoroughly recommend High Borrans as a place for couples to stay when visiting the central Lake District.

This was our third stay at High Borrans.Previously we hired the Shepherds hut but this time we decided to have a bit more room.We we’re in the lakes for a family wedding and wanted to stay over the weekend.Our lodge was Hazel and it was really clean and tidy and so comfortable.Cath the owner of the site is a lovely lady and can’t do enough for you.The lodge is situated on a farm a few miles out of Windermere and is so peaceful and quiet.I would highly recommend staying here and hopefully I’ll be back in the future.

We stayed at High Borrans to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Beautiful location and only 10-15 mins drive to Windermere/Ambleside. The lodge (we stayed in Hazel) was beautifully presented, had everything we needed and was just like home from home. I loved that these lodges are on a working farm and so the sheep can sometimes be seen grazing right outside your window. We even witnessed the sheep with their baby lambs being herded back in for the day which was wonderful to see. I love that this is a small holding and so was very peaceful and so you can enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings when you want to and the more touristy sights can be found within a short drive. Would highly recommend.

Related to customer service I must say that there is a chance to improve customer service. despite multiple communications via email and telephonic calls we asked the team to verify the wifi connectivity and were given assurance that it was working fine, to my surprise the internet was not working on arrival and i had to attend an immediate work meeting.
However I have given the other available lodge access which had internet connectivity and I was able to manage my work, I would suggest organization/team at least double-check things before confirming which the customer is requesting.
So, I felt that customer service can be improved if the client is requesting something and it should be checked and communicated well before confirming.

Thank you for letting us know of your experience. We were disappointed to hear you felt let down by the level of customer service. It is our understanding that the owner of High Borrans, so that you were able to have your meeting, kindly offered an early check-in of 11am rather than the usual 4pm and once the owner was aware that the internet was not to the standard expected, provided access to another available lodge. The lodges at High Borrans each have their own dedicated wifi and it is unusual to have any issues. As with anything there is always a chance that something may go wrong and it appears on this occasion it did just that. Please accept our apologies. On a more positive note we were pleased that you otherwise enjoyed your stay and would recommend the lodge to others. High Borrans is on a working farm in a stunning part of the Lake District, with beautiful countryside all around and superb views. A tranquil place in the heart of the lakes and wonderful to escape to.

This was our first stay at High Borrans Hazel and we wasn’t disappointed what a beautiful stunning place better than a 5 star hotel. The owners had thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable even creating a book which was full of information of places to visit including food places, the lodge itself was warm cosy and comfortable and spotless.

The lodges are extremely comfortable and very well placed for walking or accessing local attractions.
The kitchen is well equipped and very clean.
We enjoyed sitting on the verandah enjoying the late evening sun after a lovely walk.
Would have no reservations in recommending to others !
