Nice and quiet place for exploring the lake district, very comfortable cabin.

High Borrans is wonderful. The lodges are spacious and modern and the aspect is beautiful and so peaceful. Couldn't ask for me (other than a wee list we made in the visitor book of suggested kitchen/household items that would've perfected the stay to the status of paradise)

A beautiful little 'hideaway' just five minutes from Windermere, beautifully appointed cabin, comfy bed, large bathroom, with bath AND walk in shower, open plan kitchen diner, fully equipped , all set in the peace and quite of the Lake District. The weather was kind to us for our stay, which meant Breakfast on the decking, with birdsong as the only distraction.
After a day out, back in the same place with a glass of something 'fizzy', watching the sunset. This was our second stay, we will be going again.

We had the most wonderful stay at High Borrans, staying in Holt. The lodge was beautifully decorated with modern features and the bath was just fantastic. The lodge is less than 10 minutes from Windermere in the car and was in the perfect location. Waking up to the sounds of cows and seeing sheep right outside the door was lovely. We will definitely be returning.

We’ve stayed at High Borrans lodges many times and have never been disappointed. The lodges are immaculate! Cosy, warm and inviting they are just perfect after a day walking/sightseeing etc.
Over the years the consistency of high standards has never wavered- Cathy ensures the lodges remain our chosen place to stay whenever we visit the Lakes. They have everything you need provided- and all in the most serene, peaceful location.

In spite of atrocious weather, we enjoyed our few days at High Borrans, a very good base for anyone wishing to explore this part of the Lakes. The Mortal Man remains an excellent choice for a good meal, a 10 minute drive away. Cathy, the owner, lives close by and is quick to appear if there’s a problem. We will no doubt be back before very long.
