Fabulous views and large terrace to watch the fishing boats, the sea and stars.
The apartment is stocked with everything you could need, cute and compact. Great to have onsite parking and the proximity of forest walks with glimpses of the sea, Brixham town close too..
We highly recommend Plover 2 and The Cove.

Pros:

The apartment is lovely, well equipped and has everything you need. It’s in a lovely location and very warm and cosy. Loved the little finishing touches like the spotting scope, milk in fridge, coffee machine etc. Nice private path that leads to a wonderful little beach and in a gated area which felt secure. The apartment is also nice and clean in most areas. It really is a lovely little place so please don’t be put off by the negatives it’s just to make everyone aware and hopefully the owners will read this and rectify.

Cons:

The apartment was full of cobwebs and spiders. And I mean FULL. I’m unsure why there were so many but they were everywhere you looked. The apartment is obviously being cleaned but clearly not being dusted for cobwebs. My daughter was absolutely terrified so I had to go around and clear as many as I could (so hopefully it’s nice and spider free ready for the next person). I’m assuming the owners have cleaners going in for them and maybe they just haven’t noticed but I honestly can’t believe how many there were and some of them were BIG and scary looking. When I rolled the blinds down they were all in the blinds too and we’re just dropping onto the floor (in all rooms) and the blind in the bedroom had loads of spots of blood over it from where the blinds were being rolled up and squashing them. Once I rolled them down and realised I quickly rolled them back up so my daughter didn’t see and we just used the curtains.

Under the bed was a stack of old tiles and cement that had been dumped there for some reason. Also a lot of dust.

The toilet is not attached to the floor properly so when you sit on it, it feels like it’s going to fall over. It scared my daughter half to death (in all fairness it made me jump a couple of times) so she refused to use it where we had to keep going to the holiday park next door to use there’s.

A couple of bits were broken (cover for key safe, dishwasher tablet dispenser etc) nothing major and doesn’t affect the stay at all. I think the owners just need to spend a few days in there to find all the floors and rectify.


I would re visit as we had a lovely stay but they would have to sort out the issues first.

I can't seem to see any contact from you about these issues during your stay. Whilst I understand that you do not wish to spend time emailing us, it does allow us to respond as promptly as possible to problems. I am glad to hear you had a lovely stay overall and look forward to hopefully seeing you again in the future.

Plover 2 was a lovely clean and comfortable apartment with a sea view
Had everything you needed for a great holiday
Milk and biscuits provided on arrival
There was a heated swimming pool.
Or you could walk down to the cove for a swim in the sea
Long walk to Brixham from there we had to drive but we are oap's lol
Loved it there

Lovely clean chalet with more nice little extras and bits and bobs that you’d expect to make you feel welcome.

Handover was faultless, everything was clean and as described. What more can you ask for?

If I had to add one thing, it would be a TV in the bedroom but that’s me being ridiculously picky, and with the view out of the doors, I can see why one isn’t included.

Perfect stay, will be back next year.

The location of the property was great, few steps away from the Fishcombe beach which we have enjoyed. On our arrival however the keys to the property were not ready and that cause a bit of stress, but raised concerned as we then found two other keys (one from another property in our apartment - lack of management); property didn’t feel like it was cleaned very well, in particular the bathroom and overall it is in need of freshening up. Our bed was a small double - very uncomfortable, Soft mattress, we barely slept. Oven wasn’t heating up, shower - too cold or too hot and very low pressure…swimming pool, heated? It was really cold! Overall the property had beautiful view and was in a good location.

Thank you for your review, I am sorry that your holiday did not start as you had hoped. The housekeeper came as quickly as he could with a key for you given the bank holiday traffic. We haven't had issues reported to do with the oven before and the owner was down quite recently. The bed I believe is a standard double, unfortunately, bed comfort is something that is impossible to get right for every guest. As I understand the pool is heated at least in part by solar panels. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed the location and Fishcombe Cove.

A lovely stay in a very comfortable flat with beautiful views!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Plover 2. This was our third visit to Brixham and second stay at The Cove complex and we very happy with our stay again. The flat was very comfortable and had anything we could have needed. We very much appreciated the coffee machine and coffee provided. The owners had left a very comprehensive folder with lots of details and when there was a problem with the blind, we called the caretaker and he sorted it all out very quickly. An excellent service, thank you very much Mr Larkin!

The flat can easily accommodate a family of 4 or two couples/ 4 friends and has all the necessities.

We sadly did not get much of a chance to enjoy the balcony/ deck as much as we would have wanted, because the weather was quite rainy. However, we very much enjoyed the sea views and looking at the boats and Torbay.

The reason I have put 4/5 for cleanliness is because the balcony/deck looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. There were lots of cobwebs around and the deck chairs had many dead bugs on them. The flat was very clean and tidy inside and looked like it had been cleaned recently, but the deck looked like it had not been cleaned for a week or more.

We would definitely recommend Plover 2 to people and we would love to return there again.

Not our first time in this complex and found this apartment to be better, as no one above.
2nd bedroom also better as a twin rather than bunks, plenty of room
kitchen has everything you need if you want to eat in. Note - the toaster does set off smoke detector in kitchen as it should be the heat detector in there, but that is in the lounge, but door and windows open helped - lovely touch with coffee pods and milk being left for us - thank you

Would highly recommend and would stay again

We have stayed at plover 2 multiple times over the last few years and treat it like a 2nd home.
I work in Devon a lot across the year and it’s always my 1st choice if available.
Also Excellent customer service from all the staff at my brixham holidays.
Plover 2 has Lovely views and In excellent location.
We have never had the pleasure of meeting the owners but can see they keep the apartment clean and today with all amenities needed.
Thank you again we Love staying there.
