Overall the cottage was located very handily for all of Stromness & could not be faulted on its cleanliness nor its facilities. It certainly gives a good view from the living room due to the ‘Upside down’ living arrangements. For anyone with mobility problems the stairs may be an issue due to being spiral and rather steep, due to the size of the property.

We loved the quirkiness of the cottage and how it was laid out. It was very well equipped with everything we needed including an excellent library. We read lots of interesting information about Orkney and Stromness. There was even a guitar. The seating area was very light and comfortable and we enjoyed the view over the harbour. We enjoyed sitting out in the garden. Parking was as good as could be expected given the layout of the town.Overall we really enjoyed staying in the cottage and would happily book it again.

I stayed at the Cottage for three months in the winter as I first arrived in Stromness, and I loved its coziness and comfort, the fact that is strategically located at the centre of the lovely town but also hidden along Khyber Pass. It's unique layout with a street and garden access on two separate levels, and warm cabin-like interiors make it an ideal choice to experience this archipelago
